It's a cartilage, but that's uh you know, that's what we figured It would be weeks, but I was hoping you'd be weeks and not months and This is one where it's both. I mean, we're talking two months. So you know Jeff Wilson Jr the meniscus injury that he has is going to be Out for several weeks. But you are going to get him back at some point. So right away, Trey sermon. He's going to be up on game day. You're going to take three running backs into a game, so It's going to be three young guys. Sermon Mitchell and John Michael Hasty. The Wayne Goldman was a calculated risk. And, uh, you know, he's a veteran guy. If he's on the roster week one you got to pay them, so they let him go figure and he could bounce back and get on the practice squad, But the Atlanta Falcons jumped all over him. So, um You've got to look at it all the available running backs as far as, uh, you know, practice squad because you're not going to be able to To get anybody. I mean, you could make a trade to get somebody, Uh, Baltimore just went through all these different injuries. Uh, so they know they've signed quite a few, including the train, Latavius Murray, you know they have activated Levian Bell. Um, So those were a couple of streets, guys that are available. Uh, I mean, there are a couple of names out there that are big time players and you are looking at I would think of veteran player because you're so young. So, you know, do you want to get in the child girly business? Adrian Peterson. Is out there as well. Gurley would clearly fit the scheme here. Uh, he's you know, He was the best player in pro football when the Rams ran their way to the Super Bowl. Just a few years ago, the signature play in pro football was the outside zone left Todd Gurley. Behind Whitworth and Saffold and Sullivan and that offensive line. Then he wasn't as strong. I thought he played better last year. I think it's a financial Component there. Um, and they just did rework Jimmy awards contracts, so they have a little bit of money. Uh, but, you know, these guys are not going to come in, uh, wouldn't think for the veteran minimum, you know, maybe all day, Adrian. But he's a different kind of back, but he's a great jump cutter. Who would work here? I mean, it's up to Bobby Turner. But I think you probably have to go out and get a veteran guy. I mean, the very least you gotta sign a couple of guys, maybe to the practice squad. To have some buffer because backs get hurt. You may lose bags. Um, and right away. I think for this game and particular, you know Philadelphia, you'd go into the game sermon would be up with Mitchell and hasty because they know your system. And then you got the ready, listed running back and Adam Peters is working the phones right now, and there are other names. Probably. We're not thinking of you could sign somebody off of practice squad. Right away. I have to go through all the teams in their practice squad, but as far as veteran guys if you wanted to Because they both do know the scheme and can run the outside zone and up gaps. Game and inside zone as well would be two of the most accomplished players that have ever played Todd Gurley and Adrian Peterson. That'll be up to Bobby Turner and whether or not they fit in the running back room. Yeah, I think it's tough with running backs is once they hit their expiration date, and I know that people are you know, I haven't even looked at the text line, but I know people going to say Frank Gorman. He's 38 years old. And you know it. It just It happens very fast. Just off the top of my head because they're so young in the in the in the running back room, I think maybe they bring in a vet just Just in case because I like hasty, you know, like Mitchell and sermons got to get a little bit better. He's gonna hit the whole faster like we've been talking about, but that's a really, really young running back room, and Joe Staley joined us a bit earlier and was saying the transition that part that's tough to the NFL is. You've got to try to To attach yourself to a mentor. So who in the running back room and I dont Bobby Turner's a great coach, but who in that running back room can be a mentor? Is there somebody out there that Kyle has a connection to or the organization does. He knows the system can pick it up? And maybe that player is not going to play a ton. That's where the veteran practice squad thing comes in. But I think that they need to go with the veteran route just to get somebody in that room. That's been there done that so they can talk to these young guys because that's three really young backs that you're now relying on They just need a body. They need a body, so they're going to sign someone's going to get signed right away to the practice squad. There's no doubt you may you may sign too. But you need a body..

"Game that you called to expertly with the kids play and all that. That was just a great win in New Orleans. That's the last time he threw for 300, Elijah Mitchell. 104 yards. Debo Samuel, nine for 1. 89 is the first time in a while that they've had 33 New York passed 100 Yard receive 100 Yard Russia. Those are all the good things There are 41 17. So you see it feel good. But then the end it ends up 41 33 in the big story, obviously Jason Verrett and what we're going to do at the corner position long term, because if you looked or watched yesterday, Matthew Stafford is great Kyler Murray at Tennessee was great. And Russell Wilson at Indianapolis is great. You're gonna play great quarterbacks in the division. Oh, by the way, week three, probably a fist off Aaron Rodgers, who wasn't good yesterday. In fact, his worst professional game they got beat 38 3 by the scenes. We get more into the NFL, but a lot of quarterbacks coming and they got to get that figured out. We will talk about it in about nine minutes. With Dante Wittner, who was great on TV. As was Joe. I actually went back and watched those guys to check it out. So Dante in about 10 minutes on all of it, and the Joe show later, so we got them both. So we're very well covered. We gotta get to kill spokes on the air as well. And Laura. But Elijah Mitchell, Um we didn't see him much in the preseason. He had the abductor. Injury did not play into the last preseason game against the Raiders, and there he is on kickoff coverage immediately making a tackle, and he did not play on coverage and, uh in college, Louisiana Lafayette Ah, he was going to be the number one kickoff returner. And that all changed when Raheem carried the ball twice and he goes out. So I'm sure a lot of people are wondering about Trey Sermon versus Elijah Mitchell. We could feel that coming Once Mitchell got healthy and clearly the week of practice leading up to the lion game, and even before that, Trey sermon. The one thing that's good about him is he runs kind of like a veteran. He's a patient runner kind of Levian bell like, But lady in Bell is Levian Bell, and he's not leaving on bell anymore. We'll see in the night against the Raiders. Playing for Baltimore, but he's lost his juice, but If you want to play for Bobby Turner, uh, being patient is not the way to go. You've got to hit that It's one cut and it's downhill and you go and Trey sermon is got to figure out how to run this system. Now he ran a lot of it. At Ohio State. He ran at Oklahoma who did and eventually But he's got to hit it harder the way Elijah Mitchell hits it, and he just hits it and he's got great speed. Rain of 433. And you can see the speed when he got into the second level. But then the power £200 and you know, he was played bigger and college, he was up to 2 15 and his prayer. Initial of 40 times. Not great, so he tapered down. Uh, he ran about four or five and now at 200 to 433. But the ability to run through a tackle at the second level, so this is big time. Elijah Mitchell. Uh, what he did right away is not, you know, overall, took over 104 yards as a rookie round six draft pick in your first game. Wow. Who is this guy see the next coming of Terrell Davis. I don't know about that. But let let let's just see where it all goes. And then the big thing will be today, John. When Kyle meets the media and Dr McAdams, they do an MRI on Rahim's knee and see exactly what Is going on with that knee, how long he's going to be out. J. Michael Hasty is a good back. You lost Wayne Goldman. That's one of the things we talked about was which one of these bags could you cut and bring back? I thought you could cut calm and then bring him back. But Atlanta jumped all over him, so he is no longer available. If you get bad news on Mostert, and I think you have to brace for he's going to be out a period of time. Hopefully, it's not extended time. But you know what's the likelihood will be able to play in Philadelphia on Sunday would trace sermon then be up for the game? More than likely would you have to bring somebody else in it? Uh, Jeff Wilson Jr is still weeks away from being able to come back. But that was a hell of a performance yesterday from Elijah Mitchell. I knew he had it in him, John. But who the hell thought he's gonna go? For one? Oh, four and a 38 yard touchdown of his first NFL game. Yeah, it was good, by the way, Great call 73 of his 104 rushing yards and pressure friends. Came after contact and he's between the tackles, guys, So he looked good. And then he's got that burst. And at the end of that 38 yard, he broke that. That tackle and good Look, I don't want to be negative because they're up. 41 17. They're playing well, and this very thing gets stuck in your head. I think that the running back position even though I love Mostert and and really think He's going to be critical, but they did. Such a good job in the off season of of creating depth and running back was one of those positions, obviously, by drafting the two that they did, and Mitchell like you said, literally good and Tasty. Hasty is Tim Wood column is a guy that I think can connect, you know, carry the load and from college to the pros through the annals of time. Guys come into the league and they can play young. Well, it's just one of those positions. The problem with their it was it was probably in my estimation, the corner spot the least of your depth. Even though you took the two rookies angry. Thomas took 2020 off, I think is going to take some time. Lindores interesting. He played well. If it's Mosul and Lynn are okay, and then you got a couple of veterans. But in corner makes me nervous because it was one of the few positions maybe receiver being the other that you weren't As as high on as far as the depth offensive line defensive line all these different places that they got the depth the quarterback position, they said. We're not going to get beat by this lack of depth again. But corner was one of those spots where you held your breath. So I'm okay with the running backs, at least in the short term. Like you said, As long as it's not an A C l from for most, er The corner and I don't again. It's a win, and they should feel good. But, man, this red things just got me. It's stuck in my head. Well, a manual mostly, I think is going to play in Philadelphia. I don't know, but I watched him warm up and he was running. I'm not going to say 100%, but he had a helmet on his shoulder pads on Part of me thought when I first saw him. Is he trying to prove he can fly today? But then he did it so long. He was obviously having a heavy pregame workday and he was not going to play, but he was running goal line to go line. And he was getting after it. So I think he's close. I think there is reason to assume that be optimistic. Not assume, but be optimistic that Emanuel Mosey can come back. So then you just flip out mostly for Barrett. Uh, you know where it's a better player but mostly is a good player de Mola Nor played amazing Jeff Deeney from pro football. Focus on me. The C sent me the breakdown he played 90 snaps the most of anybody on defense 69 1 coverage. They did not go at him much. They went in and little bit later in the game. They target him just three times and he had one catch for three yards allowed. He can also go inside and playing the nickel. If something were to happen to K one. So you've got and you also got Josh Norman and we'll talk to Dante about Josh Norman. I think Josh Norman at this stage of his career and really throughout his career to me, has been strictly a zone. "Game. Philadelphia has got to go fast Court. Ma's got a man in the air. He missed it. Clock ticks curry that one's good 5.0.1 on the clock, and this is going to be an Atlanta victory final seconds. Clarkson fires it up, and that's it. The Clippers grabbed the upper hand in the series A couple guys you know, and both row teams win last night in different fashion. The Clippers get a bunch from Paul George, and he gets enough help they win in Utah and Utah was red hot from the three point line and then just fell off in the second half of the Clippers that three to know quite no problem and then the Sixers. They led by as many as 2016 by 18 going into the fourth quarter, and even with five minutes left, they had 97% chance to win the basketball game. But Atlanta comes back. They win, by the way, a couple of guys, you know, Iron Eagle and via Brian Anderson on the calls on those for a TNT. So did you make of what we saw last night. We'll start with Brian's game and I checks to them after. How did that happen? Um, I actually went back and watched the game over when I got home last night. And Joel Embiid look fine. He was moving much better. I don't know. You know, Obviously not all torn meniscus is the same. Obviously, there's different grades of it. Change Wiseman's out 46 months. Jeff Wilson Jr 49 Running back is about 4 to 6 months and this guy one game he looks like he has no strength in his legs, and he's falling down. And then he puts up that performance. And then Seth Curry. Is really a good player. 30 really good. I mean, he is. He is a fantastic player. I've always wanted them to be a warrior. I don't think you can afford them now. I mean, my goal with my desire would be to bring the two second generation stars here. I'd love to see Tim Hardaway Jr. A warrior. He would be a terrific player, different player than said. But my goodness, what a game. He played. Tobias Harris did struggle. I thought they had that game and, uh, Atlanta just took it. John Collins and his ability to offensive rebound. He had a couple of big ones in the game. He's a good player. They offered him a huge amount of money and he didn't accept it. I don't know where they're going to go with that. Danilo Gallinari was big. I don't understand why the Clippers got rid of sweet Lou. But you know, there's there's there's components there and they wanted Rondo anyway. I mean, I got so many checks from people in the league and and friends of mine. I just love basketball. A gist bashing doc after and I can't go there. I know him so well work with him in San Antonio. I don't know if he quite works as hard as he used to. When he was younger before he went to Boston is Orlando teams the heart and hustle change a really good teams. But that's just a terrible loss. I mean, yeah, you blow leads in the NBA. They've blown him twice. But this was going to the fourth quarter. If you've got a 26 point lead early in the game, there is one thing. But you could outscored 40 to 19 in the fourth quarter of a Wow. That's hard. And then it was former team and for its iron eagle on the call, Right. What a moment for iron. His son is the radio voice of the Clippers. No ego. We've had him on the show. We got them both. Great kid. How fun is that? As we approach Father's Day weekend, John, except for him to Trade and no, it's not traveling. But when they do go to L. A to play. Um he's doing the games. You know, with his son there, and they're hanging out after and before. What a great thing that is for pride and eagle. I'm sure he wishes he was on the Brooklyn series. That's his team. But I think for the shake of, uh You know, Trying not to have people perceive his calls is to be Brooklyn based to try to avoid that while I'm Marv did a lot of next games and brain but anyway I just, You know we'll get into the game. But what a cool moment that is for I interview able to spend so much time with his son and his son is the voice of the L. A Clippers on radio, and he's calling the game on national TV. Amazing. It was awesome. I've never seen a game in which only two guys score in the second half. It was indeed and like you, said South Korea who scored 36. Although on the other end, Seth was getting abused on the block. As far as the Utah game. I thought that the fly in the ointment in the second half they had Donovan Mitchell and Royce O'Neill at at the top of the key, initiating the offense and they would go to double Mitchell and there's Roy Sony with the ball Well, he's a defender. He's not an offensive player. It was just the weirdest thing. And so he's. They're just they're giving him the Tony Allen treatment. I just I don't know It's hard to second guess guys, because these guys know a lot more than I do as far as basketball, but there's just some egregious errors. I thought Doc waited too long to bring his guys back and they couldn't put there. Foot back on the accelerator. It was just You know it was a complete system failure and now But you know what, On the other hand, give the Hawks credit for staying in the game, and I like Travis Link and the way that they've built that team and they got shooters all around and trade. Young's playing great. So, look, I think it be cool for Atlanta to get to the To the East finals. Unfortunately, I think it would be against the Nets, and I think they get swept. But, uh, But whatever. And then as far as the Clippers go give Paul George credit. He's never really stepped up before and last night he did. I mean, he's a very talented player. I don't see Paul George is a consistently excellent offensive player. But when he gets on roles, and he's not afraid of taking a three, he didn't He didn't shoot a great percentage last night, But he's just he's being aggressive. Even when co I was healthy. I mean, just, you know, get into the cup. Getting 10 of 11 from the line shot a good percentage. She had 16 rebounds in the game. 13 defensive. He handles the ball a lot. They got Reggie Jackson, who was just what up and down and all around careers. Jesus was killing and Marcus Morris Senior can be a go to guy so great win for them. "Move on from from ripping the, uh, the Panhandle down there. The Florida Panhandle anyway. The by the way, Marcus Boucher Marcus, the water boy, Murph. In fact, checks in this morning right now shot me a text today 94. Five. Sammy along so make sure your by your radio this morning near the end of the Murph and Mac Show and Sammy Long Kennedy Sacramento, who did Fleming was saying on the pregame show Murphy Mac yesterday like when he met him. He was like, Oh, boy, I know who you are. I'm a fan. I'm a Giants fan. I grew up listening to yourself for sort of a fun element went into its A guy who's a homegrown player in that happening the day after the Brandon Crawford night where he sets the record for most games ever played a shortstop by a giant. I thought that was a cool situation. But these these Elements to this team, the the fun surprises in the players and the depth within the organization that they continue to bring up. It's just startling man. It's really, really alarming. Now. You get into the back end of this game yesterday, and I'm certainly think, and we've been saying this now for a couple of weeks or several weeks. Now they're probably the biggest weak spot for the Giants. And there's going to be some stuff that happens with the lineup, But I think they're going to sort of refrain on on making a move or sort of hold back and and sort of hold. Serve on making a move for a minute when it comes to the offense because of the depth they've been able to bring up and because they're so Many guys on the I l that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go out and say, Hey, I need another right handed. First base bat or I need another left fielder. When you're going to get Dickerson back. You're going to get your ass back. You're going to get Darren rough back. At some point You're going to get Kirkus Sally back. You're going to get Tommy La Stella. But these are all guys were just sitting on the I l who are on the opening day roster, and we're supposed to be impact players in the lineup throughout the season, so I think they'll hold back on that. Obviously there's flexibility in the bullpen, and I think when you get into the back into this game, not the Tyler Rogers is not a good weapon. He did a great job. I think he's done a great job. And I'm okay with the closer by committee situation but far and was on the T. K B yesterday, and they talked about this closer situation that closer by committee is generally not something that that works like It's It's I'm okay with getting your best matchup. I'm okay with mapping out your innings on whether you want McGee to throw in the nineties. He couldn't get it up. That's my boy. Thank you. What? Give it to me again. Dave. Go ahead. Give it to me again. I couldn't get it. That's it, Man and and and Tyler Rogers. They've been good They've been. They've been damn good at the back into the bullpen, But I do think the giant are going to need some more depth. And I really think you're better served with Tyler Rogers and so funny. I go back and forth on this. He's your best reliever. However, there are times when they need him earlier in the game, I do think last night it was the best opportunity area. To say yesterday afternoon. It was the right situation to put him in the game. The Giants just don't win the game and again. I'm just getting getting worn out by the runner on second man. It's just the stupidest thing. It's the stupidest Stupidest, stupidest thing. I was thinking about ranking the things in sports that are the dumbest things things that I hate in sports, like like the Dodgers are number one, right? I just can't stand the Dodgers. But again, I need the Dodgers around. I need that rivalry. It's not like I want Dodger baseball to go away. I want him to be around and I want him to be bad like that's that's how I don't like Dodger Baseball when it comes to like things that I hate our rules that I hate or dumb things in sports, the DHS up there, the runner on second has soaked Quickly surpassed the D H on second to seven inning double flow. The seven inning uh, doubleheaders is the stupidest thing. Uh, well, I guess now the second or third stupidest thing behind the runner on second, anyway. What the hell are we doing? What? The runner on second. I don't know. And Giants lose the game Speaking D, right there he is, so we can get more into this game. We're going to hear from Sammy long. We hear from Gabe Kapler later in the show. But on the other side, I want to get into some 49 football because caution and scrapped the OTAs. He scrapped the mini camp any and he's I mean, everybody, I think thought this was reactionary. Right after the injuries to just in school. And, of course, Jeff Wilson Jr tears his meniscus standing up out of his chair in the locker room, which is brutal. You get the the torn Achilles. It's our various more just in school hurts his knee. He's going to be out now. So a lot of people thought this was a reactionary. Kyle Shanahan evidently said, this was a plan describe some of this stuff even beforehand that they were not going to. They were not going to to hold the required things next week anyway, so they've canceled all that stuff We'll hear from Mike McDaniel here from Kyle Shanahan. And and the way McDaniel was Talking about Trey Lance. I mean, we knew the 40 Niners were high on this guy. I'm getting the impression that this is going to be a not that we didn't think this was going to be a story all year. I know Kyle Shanahan sort of set the bed for this yesterday and saying that Jimmy Garoppolo had his best OTA or his best little training camp with us since he showed up as a member of the 49 are still great. I mean, that's all lip service. I think most coaches are supposed to say that. How do you not been the best? He wouldn't have said that he would have said, Well, it's the fourth of the fifth best seasoning sat in the fourth or the fifth best offseason per Graham. He's had since showing up with us, so we'll get into some of that a little bit later, and also more quarterbacks are starting to speak out people showing up to the road to Tom Brady comments on on the return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a potential Super Bowl run. There's some stuff from Adam Schefter on DeShaun Watson's wants Still to maybe go to the Denver Broncos, and that's a story that has just fallen flat, totally dead now because of what's going on with his off the field troubles and the legal ramifications, which I guess we're still sort of waiting to see how that stuff unfolds or how that How that shakes out. The Texans cannot be happy with with that being the story of the off season and then the second story on top of it being all the the assault allegations against, uh, Shawn Watson. That's this is this is a, uh Touchy stuff, man and things that obviously we should wait for for the details for that story to come out, But the fact that football is getting going means it's it's gonna come back. We're gonna hear more and more about this, And if he plays well this year, I don't know that that leads to a trade. Does that lead to him? Going elsewhere doesn't lead to more allegations against them. That's all sort of remains to be seen. So these are all sort of the big stories heading into what should be a pretty fun NFL season area. You're with the 49 ers, expecting to bounce back in calcium and sort of thumbed his nose at the idea of of an injury boogie. Man, which I'm okay with saying yes, There's nothing in particular that we're doing this leading to these injuries and I'm almost not even sure. I don't know if I would feel better about the injuries being to the same guys or if I feel better about the injuries being two different guys, But it's different Guys start to ask the question. Like, what are they doing? Why is it so many guys are getting hurt? Just sometimes sort of think injuries are flukes like Jeff Wilson Jr. Tears are getting out of a chair to various more was running on the field, and his Achilles pops just in school was playing football and he turns his knee. It's football. These injuries are going to happen. I'm not sure What else we can do about it, except be bummed out and try to move on..

"Do want retired, thank even with the bad teams that Barry was on. It's like you waited for his back because you knew you could burst something open or break something open. I don't know who that guy is for the Giants and we're waiting for for that at bat in the lineup, and it's not to say that they're not successful. It's not to say that different guys can't come up every day and do some damage and we've seen that there are deep roster a deep team. But but lacking that star power that and I was thinking about this the other night just watching some MBA. Same sort of feeling I have with the New York Knicks. It's a really good team. They're not gonna compete for a title this year. They're competitive team. They're an aggressive team. They play good defense. As more food say they sell out on D that said, they don't have like I know Julius Randle's been fantastic. They don't have a tray, young type who can Tokyo take over a game or a serious They don't have some guy every night. You can come out and say I'm going for 45 to win this game. Now. Baseball works a little bit differently. But if you've got that presence looming in the lineup There's something to be said about that. I don't know that the Giants have that. I certainly don't think so, at least right now and in games like this and serious like this in ruts like this against a specific team, that's a guy you need to get hot. Some guy in your lineup it Evan Longoria Ah, Brandon Belt. Who's Mama's ex Muncie? Who's on the aisle right now, Maybe it's a Buster Posey, who I really do think they should be working out at first base, but remains to be seen if you don't have Brandon belt and you don't have Darren rough, and you've just got Vossler. You're running to Sally out there and Buster sitting again in Game one of a four game. Syriza's against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. I'm a little bit frustrated about that. If it gave capital needs to re evaluate that I really do. The Buster Posey should be taking some of bats from over at first base. Anyway. All stuff we could talk about a little bit later. I'm frustrated. I woke up on a Friday morning of a three day weekend thinking hell, yeah, let's get going. But then I remember the Giants lost 4 to 3 to the Dodgers last night. Also, Shohei Otani missed his start in Oakland last night. He's what may be the most talented player in baseball. He can hit home runs. He can strike guys out. He can hit for power. People just want to give their money away. So that's that's the home of the Wizards and the Washington Capitals. Wow, that's the first one. Wow, I'm sure that it's gonna spread like wildfire when they start to see what kind of revenue is gonna be generated. In that place, and you don't have to have a game going on. So what do you What do you bet on just eyes? Adjust that game or you can bet another games. And when I was there for European soccer and Chelsea, you could bet on who would score the first goal. You can bet on how many points Bradley Bill's gonna score. I would imagine, so I know it's a full sports book. So it's enough. It's doesn't have to be on that night's game or anything. So basically they had a line and it opened at the top of this hour and they were letting people in. It's a normal sports book. And then, like you said, it's going to be an open venue during the games, So I got imagine that that's gonna be crazy. South. That's the first one she start one. They're all going ahead. Exactly right? Yeah. How much additional revenue is that going to generate and who gets to keep that revenue? Who runs the sports book? Now? That's what you want. Just the owner of the Capitals in the building. There are who owns that. Yeah, that I don't know that source that how's that word? Well, I think it's outsource through William Hill, which they do a bunch of the sports books throughout the country and they run it so I would imagine that, you know, so they just pay the teams and the officers to get rights to get in there, But I wonder as you said, I don't know what the split is in terms of the individual team vs The league and who gets what split? Is it each? Because that's the great thing about in arena, right? You keep your money in arena. So is this an in arena item that you that you keep all the revenue or do you have to split it? How does that work? Would imagine. They keep it. I guarantee you people from the NFL. We're gonna go check that out quickly. They could get that Could you imagine on and then? I mean, you know you like to bet on all the sports but hockey's top basketball. He bet on baseball card. You going on starting pitching, but people bet on everything but football. What a huge revenue source. This is going to be. Oh, I would say after network television rights gambling will be number two in time. Maybe even more than butts in the seats. Well, for some reason, and anybody who's ever been in a Vegas sports book at any point, But like a you know, a Thursday for the college basketball tournament arrest Saturday, a big Saturday on college football. It's only gonna open for those hours, but it's gonna be crazy. Oh, it's open all day long. Yeah, they just they literally just open it so people can actually go in there. Lay bats and it's not just open during the games, so I would imagine it's gonna be a ton of action during a game. But yeah, it's gonna be open all the time. So make a halftime bed. Let's go make the second half better. Oh, I'm sure first quarter bed. I mean, nobody bets in the seats. You could even bet. Are they gonna run or pass on this next? Yeah, well, that's what that TNT thingy. I don't know if anybody does that, But TNT doesn't thing where you can win prizes and such. And I think I did it. Maybe once or twice during the year where You can literally do that, like you know who is going to score? You know, what are they going to do here all these kind of things, and you kind of play along during the game, and it's kind of addicting. You gotta go to the window. Give cash get you know on the app, and then then you can just roll. "Very, very well. So they take a couple of running backs Elijah Mitchell later from Louisiana, which is funny because I watched a lot of him. In the pre draft and he ran a 433. So he's a speed guy. Sermon is more of a power guy, and we will get through the Rest of the draft. But I know that like said like we heard you there. You called that game. So you know a little bit about Trey. Sermon? Yeah, I watched him because I was obsessed with collar Murray. So I watched him a lot. And first of all, you know, there is Farrah speed. They're very different. Obviously trace sermons closer to before six Guy and Elijah Mitchell is a Home run hitter in a 43 guy, but they both fit this running scheme. I watched him over and over and over again last night. Mainly in the shotgun. You don't see these guys in college. Just don't get Under center is much, but they're there in the gun. You know they're sidecar with the gun runs, and it's just It's an outside zone scheme out of the gun for both, and for trace. ERM and I was on with Tiki Barber, one of the great running backs. In the history of the NFL. On. It's just his vision. It's it's not only You know the one ft in the ground and you cut and all that He just glides. He runs up right, which is a bit of a concern for me because guys that are upright runners to have more surface area. To tackle so that that is a problem, but You know, he's got powers. Well, he's a well built guy, six FT. £215. He does not as far as his, you know, 40 time. It's not great. I mean, it's one thing you worry about him is being able to make house calls, but he college level. He did score a lot of touchdowns. He ran, you know of 459, but really what you look at with him. Chan is the 10 Yards splits, and he ran much better. He ran his 1st 10 yards of the 40 yards and under 1.51 Point 49 seconds, so He's gonna be able to hit the outside zone. He's fearless. He hits He hits it and he goes downhill He's made for this system. There's certain running backs. Carlos side. A very productive running back in the NFL really struggled when he was here with Kyle. That one year where they overlap just was not outside zone runner. This guy isn't outside zone runner. But it's his vision. It's his ability to slide. He sees things at a very high level. Now he did in college and the NFL is gonna be a little bit different, but it's not so much the guy that's right in front of you. It's the second guy the next level. And he has amazing ability to do that, And we know he talked about Aaron Banks earlier and what they're gonna do with him. And he may not know Daniel Brun skills, a good player gonna go back to that went against the L. A Rams. He kicked Aaron Donald's ass. At night. So these air rookies, so they've got to come in and they're gonna be down in the depth chart. No one's given trace. Sermon the job over Rahim. Or even over Jeff Wilson Jr and Wayne Goldman is a really good back. I watched just about every stamp of his career after 40 Niner signed him, and he is a making This guy's a short yardage goal line guy. So right away, you would put in a hopper just stylus far as big and bad and tackle breaking. You got Jeff Wilson Jr and Jeff as more speed than you even think. A lot of time, see to surprise me getting angles and Wow. How did he get there? You got ran back to his face faster than you think. He is weighing Goldman, also a big body tackle breaker and Trey sermon. Would be in that same category. And then you get to Elijah Mitchell, who was in the Ricky Mostert category, and he matters the models his game after Elvin Ca Mera And obviously straight line. Speed, played. Some wide receiver in high school also helped her run between the tackles. He's not just, you know, a speed guy that wants to get to the edge. But what he does is catch the football. There was several times and you watched him a school. John, with the ball was put on the wrong side of his body, and he just turns easy and makes a good ball supposed to be over there how to become a wow. Uh, Rahim got better at that. Certainly he used to be not great at that. But there's something that Elijah Mitchell conduce, so they're not going to come right in and take over. They could, you know, sometimes Rookie back step right in, but you get a little bit of an idea what they're doing here with your guy in the smoker, Aaron Banks. You got these two running backs, and then you bring in a quarterback that at least will give you the threats and constant threat of the run, and they'll be sometimes that he just keeps it and run zone reach. Certainly. I don't know how much you want to want, You know, design quarterback runs, but, uh, Kyle Shanahan is there running coach? There's no doubt they'll throw it when they'll throw it in the gas. You there, too. Giants offense the top two slots in the order this season. Combined average of 2 18, which is one of the worst in the major leagues. They combined o p s from the top two slaps in the order of 6 92 that ranks 26th. Out of 30 teams. The only teams below the Giants, the Texas Rangers, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cleveland Indians in the Detroit Tigers. So he who's who of the worst teams in major League baseball. Somehow, the Giants have overcome the lack of production from the top two slots. In the order, and they were hoping that Tommy let Stella will play a key role course field a good fit for him. Get going because of that expansive outfield territory. The ability for contact hitters to thrive like La Stella does, But now it appears as though they may be losing him. And Brandon Belt has been hampered at times this season. So the Giants On May 3rd are already having their depth tested. "Monday in the Bay Area. My name is Carrie Crowley, filling in for Adam Copeland here on the leadoff spot, taking it all the way up to the six a.m. hour with Murph and Mac Plenty to get to this morning. A lot of train lance stock. Ah, lot of 40 Niners draft talk. The San Francisco Giants, taking the final game of a three game set from the San Diego Padres will tell you what that means for this team and how they have fared. Against San Diego this season. What it could mean moving forward for a Giants team that yes, is still clinging to first place over the Los Angeles Dodgers have kind of been a mess aside from hitting two Grand Slams and routing the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, it has been a rough go of it for the Dodgers over the last two weeks and the Giants they're still hanging on to that first place edge, but so much to get to with regard to the 40 Niners draft, of course. Trey Lance the headliner on Thursday night, third overall pick the 40 Niners taking the 20. Year old signal collar out of North Dakota state. I cannot believe that a quarterback who was born post 2000 is going to be the signal caller in San Francisco under Cal Shanahan, but a really exciting offense should be in store for 2021. Even if Trey Lance doesn't take over immediately because off some of the picks that the 40 Niners made over the weekend. Clearly upgrading this team in the run game was pivotal for Shanahan and John Lynch over the weekend. I'm gonna give you my favorite Pics from the 40. Niners draft. I'm gonna talk about why this was a different kind of draft than any we have seen under John Lynch and Cow Shanahan. And it's not only because Trey Lance is now a San Francisco 40 Niner. We're talking about how this offense in this defense or shaping up heading into the 2021 season. The 40 Niners with the third overall pick, trading up from 12, but really After giving up those next two first rounders. Even if Jimmy Garoppolo is the start of the beginning of the season, I do anticipate they will be picking the back end of the first round for the next two seasons. That's why giving away those next two first rounders shouldn't hurt that much. Mike talk man, Kevin Gossman, leading the Giants right now and just so much to get to. Maybe we'll touch on Kelly. You braise injury and what that could mean for the Golden State Warriors as well. But I want to start with my favorite day two and a three picks of the draft of the San Francisco 40 Niners and We will touch on Aaron Banks. The guard out of Notre Dame in the next segment, who should slot right in next to Mike McGlinchy and be a day one starter. If all goes well for Aaron banks, the El Sereno native grew up the 40 Niners fan really excited about what he could bring to this offense, but Quite frankly, I loved the draft pick of Trey Sermon in the third round. It is the highest that John Lynch and Cow Shanahan had ever taken a running back. And if you watched the Big 10 championship game last fall, as many of us did, as many of us did because we wanted to see if Justin Fields was a potential quarterback of the future for the 40 Niners, Justin Fields was nowhere near the best player. On the turf that day in Indianapolis when Ohio State took down northwestern. Trey sermon rushed for over 300 yards, and he did so much of it on his own. Yes, The Ohio State offensive line was rearranging Northwestern defensive lineman like it was no big deal. But trace sermon ran for well over 300 yards. He's averaged 7.5 yards per carry each of the last two seasons and he is going to fit in so nicely is a compliment to Ricky Moster. I got tired quite frankly, off watching Tevin Coleman be the change of pace back in San Francisco. The burst was not there this season. And so you had to see Cal Sandhamn dig down on the depth chart Getting to Jeff Wilson Jr. Who we all know and love for the physicality in between the tackles go into Jermichael Hasty. You ended up getting hurt. And didn't even deeper down in the depth chart this year. I really do believe that with Trey Sermon and Raheem Mostert, the 40 Niners left a great 12 punch in the backfield. Jeff Wilson Jr can be that third down back the change of pace guy who, when you needed tough yard, you can go and get it to him, but tracer and played the outside zone system that Kyle Shanahan runs should be very comfortable. Coming into this 40 that is offense right away, understanding the terminology, understanding the zone cuts and understanding his role. He's someone who ran a 459 in the 40 yard dash, so not nearly the blazing speed you see from where he most her, but he has an element that John Lynch talked about earlier this week. And it is his ability to go from 0 to 60 within the 1st 10 yards really quickly and be successful is a zone back to be successful in accounts, right hand offense. You have to get up to full speed right away, and that's why I'm three Told about what Trey sermon can look like in an offense that is already really physical. When you look at this offense and take away the quarterback position, whether it's Jimmy Garoppolo or Trey, Lance, this part does not matter. You've got Debo Samuel. You got Brandon. I yuk. You've got George Kittle. And now you've got Raheem Mostert and Trey sermon in the backfield and offensive line that added Aaron banks in the second round. It's going to be able to move people around on the ground. They've proven that undercount Shanahan in the first few seasons, and I'm really excited. To see what this offense conduce in 2021. The other draft pick that I really liked and we will touch on all of these guys later on in the show, but the other guy who stuck out to me right away, and this was not necessarily the most popular pick of the day for the San Frisco $40. But on day three, they went with Talyn, Noah Hufanga. Who was AH USC safety last year, the best defensive player in the Pac 12, and they got him in the fifth round. And one of the things that I find.

We're not just being traded where you want to go where you want to send them. Wolf figure out the trade ourselves. And he felt that there was something so inherently great about. Well, first of all, Bill Walsh told us Joe Montana was going to retire because in fact was so bad. Um That really worked out. Well, you know, I've lived in the bear. I'm living in Berkeley. I never ever ever would have wanted someone to follow Joe Montana and do with them. I knew he was tonight on So, um, we thought well, Montana actually has to retire, but long story short. Uh, so it was being in that system, so we're sort of Ranger trade. And San Francisco paid a lot of money, but they didn't have to give up a lot because we didn't want to cripple the team uses going to and then we assumed he would start from the start. And then, uh, Law school. Yeah, he had to find various things to occupy a sign because His presence made Montana the most competitive he's ever been, and he had great years on Al Davis. I loved Al Davis. Um, I had a house in Berkeley and he used to call me like I could tell what time it is because the camp a neatly by the campus, bring the time he got off on the swallow fart and then one apartment to apartment. Most of the discussion would be about world history politics, and he had read a lot of history and He was very focused, and we would talk about politics and books and culture and everyone so all about football, but he had It's incredible ability to pick up information. Because he was constantly on the phone, so he was better informed about everything happening about in the league and everything happening on every team. Then you could believe Did you ever have to negotiate with him? Mia. Darrell Russell, Right, Your hamburgers. Yeah, That's right. No, that was Bruce Allen and lets the Desmond Howard No. That was probably Bruce. Helen to, um hurt Marsh. No, they had negotiators. So What I thought Woz. This is crazy to have agents versus teams when we're really together. Have one God, which is built the brand and drive revenue into the sport, so we shouldn't be having ugly negotiations. I should help owners figure out how to use the Internet. How to do an NFL network had to get a big TV contract, and that was my focus. So when I would Come to somebody like Al, I would almost speak as if I was his agent for or adviser because the better teams did that Doesn't leak did the better football dead? The better my players would do. Another player. He got a contract with and it was pretty painless. You know where the negotiation with the 40 Niners? I don't know. Peroxide that or not, but Jeff Wilson Jr and just what do you know what a young man he is getting to know him the last couple of years. Les and he battled in all that ankle injury was stubborn to heal this year, but he ran for 600 yards the lead the 40 Niners. He scored 10 touchdowns. He's obviously been strong, but I think his future is even brighter. Tell me about your relationship with Jeff Wilson Jr. Well, he's great. Last year At this time, I went to Jeff Wilson Junior day in his hometown, which is sort of like an East Texas. And if you've never had an experience like that they do a parade. The whole town comes out is smaller town. But you saw how loved he was by so many people. He's genuinely warm person with the charitable heart and Remember, we were trying to figure out where to sign into the one drafted and when the 40 Niners called, I said, um, I need to talk to John Lynch. You represent, but it's right. And so I knew he would When you're.

He's shown that You know if you put other guys around him, he's the guy who can win one on one matchups. I think that he provides so much and playmaking ability. If they would have had a Pro Bowl vote for the nickel back position the last three years, he probably would have made it on outside.
