"You're going to pick them up. You're gonna put them in your lineup. I view the current situation. Jeff wilson and ringmaster not a part of the roster yet As elisha mitchell and trace sermon as a committee. I don't think either guys gonna get everything but he is important. This is a good solid running team running attack. That's why Most had value along with remastered speed but elisha. Mitchell has that speed. That's he was a sub four four. He's very moster. s he he is. He's he's a great athlete and look. I'm just going to say cal. Shanahan just an unbelievably good coach monstrous ego. I mean this guy just wants to prove its him doing it. He he loves grabbing. These undrafted rookies these late round guys. He's alfred morris isn't saying i did this this is this is my system and i'm not saying that that that's why he would put elisa mitchell in over trae sermon but if he likes elijah mitchell that that goes to his ego. So i believe is ensure field and brandon. I you exactly it's shanahan doing it. and so i i believe ally mitchell will be involved. He is a running back that you can grab on waivers week one and and have them at least for a while he might not be a full season guy for you to me. That doesn't matter. I know i like to go back to those concerns. You're laying out to jeff wilson back in week six. That's an eternity for now fantasy football. I still don't have the advice. I need okay. The advice i have no doubt leisure missiles going to be part of a committee ineffective and all that the advice i need is whether or not. How much do i invest on this temporary situation for elisa mitchell. You say it's an eternity away. You're right is five. Weeks can make the playoffs for you. But are you. Investing eighty percent of your fab on allies mitchell. Are you gusting ninety. Percents fab analyzer mitchell. No i'm not doing. This isn't a full fab dump for me. But i'm going at least a handle chill was gidell's forty four was taught a kid who is fifty-five hagar hagar is. Would you invest a kettle or a hager. It depends on your team situation. Really go full hagar. What about a general advice. You'd go full hager i. I think that's a good amount. Fifty five percent of your budget.

"Certainly is an easy way to create a roster spot. If you don't have an ira spot or you drop in. Probably yeah eight weeks long time to wait for a guy that's gonna come back running back with a knee injury in a crowded field. I think he's adding another running back. Don't forget because jeff wilson who is been our the meniscus is probably gonna come to know through you feel any objection to dropping. He moster. No if you don't have an i. r. spot in a ten team league. I don't. I'll tell you some names on that into bunch leagues when drop him right. I mean i know that that's kind of obvious. After he wasn't even active last night bolivia mbale would be an example of somebody that can be dropped. I don't know that. I see some tight. Endless it here. The problem is if you are dropping. Someone like mike who had a bagel in week one. The problem is that you're probably dropping him to add a different tight end right so that others rather either the new orleans tight end. Johnson caught two touchdowns out. I'm traveling and i think six targets. It's interesting. I think that's gonna be a better offense especially with coming back to that offense this week. There's going to be less targeted to go around casino in the willfuller. There's not suspended anymore. Even look at them they like to. It didn't even look at them really and So i think you know those. Those guys are interesting. Gerald adverti- think out there on a decent amount of leagues like a really like gerald everett. Thing this year right. I was thinking more. Just like who's available to drop right now who's on a roster enough places that you could drop right away. Is there nobody else that comes to mind for you. The service that you could that you could draw deos asking if we sat rights names you drop marquez callaway. After a quiet week one my answer would be no probably not so i was gonna say tiro williams who's rostered in thirty five percent leagues michael carter. Whose rostered in sixty four percent of leagues like. I want nope listen. That jets offensive line was absolutely brutal and they just lost mckay becton five weeks. That team is not running the ball effectively this year. Like so michael carter who sixty four percent. Rostered like like corey davis. There you go. That's a jet you want corrie and like let's we'll see about elijah more we'll see about jamison crowder when he comes back like. I think those can go. You're okay getting rid of crowder. Yeah fair enough. But i would say some of the larger more but i would get rid of michael carter. Who was a not for me. Because i was just like. What are you guys doing. But there was definitely a lot of people that liked michael carter as preseason sleeper pammy rogues from last night's on name that i'd say by i think i'll give you i'll give you one wide receiver that should be on your radar. Like listen. i get it. The packers were absolutely brutal on sunday. They're gonna crush your lions. It's common like you know. Aaron rodgers iran football a-rod era just throw seven touchdowns monday nights jeff. Okuda marquel. This gatling got a lot of preseason. Buzz got some got decent targets and a game in which the packers offensive. Absolutely nothing marquez. Valdas gatling i. I don't know that you're picking up a ten team league but it's the name that should be on your radar and in deeper leagues. I do think he's worth a speculative at. I want do one more quick. "They're going to run the football and that is just part of the system. I mean, just look back at the Mike Shanahan years with Denver and Washington. Different guy every year. And even this, you know, even with Kyle, you know four seasons that he's been the head coach. He's he's had four different leading rushers. And guess what? This year there will be 1/5 because I don't think it's don't think the leading Russia at the end of season is going to be Raheem Mostert, and I don't think the leading Russia at the end of season is going to be Jeff Wilson. So you know anybody other than the three guys that are going to be active on Sunday are going to be traced. Sermon ELISA, Malaysia, Mitchell and Michael Hasty. And again, I guess if it's uh if it's Elijah Mitchell stays healthy at this point. I think he's going to be the leading Russia this season, so no, I don't think it changes at all. And at some point help is going to be on the way to you know, they hope to get Mostert back middle of the season. Same thing with Jeff Wilson. They hope to get him back. So, uh, I just I think that the other their formula is with outstanding offensive line when it comes to run blocking in the actual yesterday. They're pretty good impact. Great yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. So with that run, blocking offensive line. It was basically 1/6 offensive lineman it in George Kittle. Now I don't think it changes at all. I think there that the formula stays the same, regardless of who it is that they're handing the ball off to Matt Male Co. Joining us as he does every week here on the Tolbert, Kruger and Brooks Show that nine or offensive line Open up holes in the run game, but Jimmy Garoppolo all sorts of time He had no pressure coming from the ends. He had no pressure coming from up the middle, which is always problematic for any quarterback, and I guess the The formula is, If Garoppolo has a clean pocket to operate in, he's gonna make some throws. He's gonna make some plays. That was the case yesterday. Yeah. I mean, I think that's you know any NFL quarterback That's probably the thing And I think he feeds well off of this formula. I mean, I don't think Jimmy is the kind of guy and we saw him. Do it in 2019, though, against the Saints in particular and It's the Rams and the Seahawks Games later in the season. You know, there were times where they put it on him. You know, Jimmy, go win a football game. I don't think that The standard, though you know, I don't think they do that every week. You know, it's kind of it's a I think they make it easy on him or easier on him because of The running game and just how everything fits together. And you know, the defense has always been strong. The defense yesterday certainly has a lot of room for improvement, but you know, there's there's always this kind of feeling that deal before year's defense is going to be good, so You know the worst thing there. I should say the, um you know, I'm a 3rd and 12. They can do a whole lot worse than drop loads, throwing the ball out of bounds and putting, you know and playing defense and getting the ball back and Going forward again. So, um, no, I think I think Rob Lowe. He's definitely coming off his best offseason, his best training camp. And I think we saw yesterday where he just He looked in control. He looks he looks good. He looks solid. He looked better than solid, so if they can get that kind of performance from him More times than not, or on a weekly basis. You know, he will keep Trey Lance at arm's length, I think throughout this season Maddie. You know, we Warner is incredible and green laws. Incredible. Uh, do do you think Greenlaw is going to go against Philly? And and to me that the big eye opener in this game was just How incredible. Um, as as these out Shakira has become, I mean, he just starts his people and he's so fast. He's so aggressive, but now he really knows the defense. He's playing fast. And he had, you know, I would say three or four impact hits where he separated the ball carrier or the receiver from the football talk a little bit about this linebacking corps. I mean, we all thought they were good, but I mean, if you're going to play like that, This might be the best linebacking corps or at least among them in the game. In just a young group. Two guys who just haven't been in the league all that long. You know the heat his final season in college. He had a CL tear, and it was just Heartbreaking for him because you know he grew up in a very rough situation, the homeless for a period of time, and he kind of saw football as his Skills that was kind of the end game and and he had the terror he would have been probably a mid round draft pick. That year, The 49 ers ended up sending him as a free agent and undrafted rookie. And yet he was on the bubble that first year, But there was I forget who the veteran guy is that they kept him over. But the thinking was that this guy can be a starter in this league, and he can be a starter pretty soon and that my dad already had Green Law and and Fred Warner. So I think what you saw on Sunday was he's now in his third year. He understands his role. He knows that defense and so I think because of him, there's no reason to push it with Greenlaw. Greenland has the groin. So I think there because of because of the guys they have there and Demetrius plan against thousands is a pretty good player as well. Good special teams guy and learning more and more how to play. Uh, linebacker in the NFL after being a safety in college, So I think because of that, um out here has a chance to be this week and every down linebacker right now he's playing that Sam position. Which in today's NFL means you're on the field about a third of the time because when they go with the Nickelback Key. Juan Williams comes in and I'll share it goes out, so I would think that if it's close, and if there's they feel that there's a risk of Greenlaw aggravating that injury and having it become worse..

"Kill me, Wdbo 173 FM and am 5 80 Orlando's news and talk, he said. With the Taliban in the last 24 hours, um You know, making threats If we don't keep to the August 31 deadline, you know we shouldn't be. We shouldn't be taking orders from the Taliban. We should tell them we're going to. We're going to be out when it's done. We're going to be doubt when When American citizens are out, American troops are out and in all of those Brave Afghanis that stood with and assisted our effort to defend our freedom in that war torn land would begin in safe passage in the country. That was Mike Pence on this show. You can see more than fox news dot com. But he was just saying that there's no way I'd be listening to the Taliban and when we're going to get out, But these two developments are also true. The Afghans have said the Taliban have said they're not letting Afghans leave now. From the airport and Americans have to get out by the 31st. Is that set well with Commander Jeff Wilson, Naval Officer Vascular and trauma surgeon and author of a new book called Dark, Intercepted. He co authored which you gotta go out and grabbed, utilizes all his rich background actor, firefighter Paradigm. Uh, paramedic of jet pilot diving instructor and, of course, naval officer. Jeff Wilson. Welcome back. Hey, Brian. It's good to talk to you, man. I wish the world was a better place right now. So we could just talk about books and restaurants, right? I know. Well, restaurants are also controversial these days Now they've got to be a doctor, and they've got to be. They've got to be the excuse me. I need your vaccination card. And I need your I d. But if at least in New York Jeff what's your take on the Taliban? Not pushing back our deadline. Yes, You know, First of all, that we're at a point where we are worried about the Taliban setting dead, You know deadlines. It's sort of like you fell through some sort of cosmic bunny hole right like it's I mean, it's really easy to get sucked into all the political narrative of who should have done what, but I think that it's almost impossible for me to imagine that every American can agree. That you know what has happened, or at least how it's happened. It's just not OK. It's not acceptable and that we're letting the the Taliban who, you know, cut hands off a 13 year old boys. Decide when and where and how we receive American citizens, and our partners is inconceivable. I think that you know, like most veterans, I think you know, we never believed that we would get to this point where we would be abandoning. Not not just our Afghan partners, but even potentially some Americans. It's horrifying. It's horrifying. And are you served in Iraq but mostly a lot of people you served with served in Afghanistan. Uh and they're wondering, you know, they have to go help. Now, These veterans groups are doing more to get American people out. Then you could argue, then our our our Marines are being allowed to do our soldiers have been allowed to do because this administration They're afraid of a Saigon moment. And it got worse Now they're not letting choppers go out into ended about Kabul and Kandahar because they're afraid of a black hawk down moment. What do you say to these risk averse president who seems clueless. Yeah, I mean, it's it's again, you know, it transcends politics. It's becomes as a military man. It just becomes tactics and strategy, right. The idea that we have. I don't know if you've talked to Chad Roby shot lately, but guys like Chad, who are working with save our allies, this new this new organization that's coupling military people to go and leverage their own networks and their own relationships in Afghanistan to get people out while The active duty military is not allowed to go outside the wire justice insane. I mean, there's just no other way to say it and again. It's just not a political thing. It's a military thing. You have the best trained, most powerful, most capable military in the world. And you need to let them do their job. You can debate later. Whether we should should still be in Afghanistan should not. How should we leave? This is where we are. This is our moment and you've got to be kinetic. We've got to be able to respond. To the situation. We're in, like we all know that No good plan survives first contact with the enemy. Well, that's where we are now. So okay. They didn't see it coming. That seems crazy, but Whatever that's where we are. So what are we going to do now? Are we going to just leave people? Are we going to let the Taliban decide who we get to take out who we get to save and who we don't? That's just so madness. I think that the Biden people think this is a news cycle. They think this is just a downtime. And no one pays attention the summer anyway, I think the crazy but that's what they're buying. Because they're they have the president coming out and making some ridiculous vaccine announcement that we all knew that a clerk could read it. And then they have other experts come out and just spin their way and not say anything, so they pretend they're communicating. I want you to hear this, Jen Psaki on going after Peter Doocy for asking. Are you abandoning Americans? Cut 25. There are no Americans stranded is the White House's official position on what's happening in Afghanistan. I'm just calling you out first thing that we are stranding Americans in Afghanistan..

"Can say we want that. You know you can't. It's hard to play the game when you're not the person making the rules. You know what. I mean as you can keep changing the rules. That's all i think. It just took steps to get to the point where we are. We have people of different backgrounds and and and and color variations and experiences that are now in position that call the shots because as an actor even today day. I can have an opinion. Look here's about what. I have to say more about my s made. We stand what we're told and we do what we say you know but in the day everything starts to create a process. So what's so beautiful about show out of black sketch. Show is even we. They all the time. Black people were not a monolith right. So writer's room the diversity in black women it's all black female writers wrote but even in that the amount of diversity that in that rome allows us to tap expenses from all over. So i think what's great is a said. Now you've got creative. Like an isa ray who started out they to the platforms that we have now. She's started off on online and look where that got her now. We've done the work we've proven we asked but now we're no longer asking anymore. Who like now position where we're making retaining control and we're telling our stories and people are getting on board with it. They're now asking for the content now wanting to see the stories and and the beauty of a culture because it is celebrated in this something that is it's refreshing to see that when you look at the decades decades decades of the same type of stores told over and over again. The audience is pallet is diverse. And it wants more. You know when you go out every every week every friday like every now and again you want to exit labor different variety. Give me the menu on the left. By the way. I i have to know because i watched a black lady sketch show and i wonder if your friends are ever leg beach. Did you tell that story about that. Time to the writers because that seems that seems like us they did you go ahead and tell the producers now like literally as after have zero in the writing. We'll get on it and we can improvise. But i do know a lot of like for example like asha programs also star in the show lake. She does her and robina heard him say that comes up those come from like personal experiences. But i think what's great is. They started colonels by via in the room and everybody gets chime in and create the sketch as far the right as roma's concerned so i'm sure carl's people's personal lives that they told me they probably need chitchatting. Those writers rooms like while in the right kind of tea. But it's so fun that it so there is no identity in the sense that it's not so specific that's not relatable to everybody unanimity. Like you say the girl tonight. Wait. did you know. I had no idea about your story. But it's just perfect that it's relatable because we all have kind of a similar experience in the how we react to respond to things a lot of fun. It's so fun to if you guys have not seen the show what i love about. This show is every sketch is about eight ish minutes like it reminds me of what in living color was what mad. Tv was back in the day where you could sit down. You didn't have to watch ten episodes before you could skip through the episode but my favorite thing about episodes is you always know the character like we all have to go to the club. We all had the girl who played mash in high school was started tired about what he was going to get. Everyone knows somebody so for me. Black lady sketch show is what wayne's brothers were creating but with an extra layer. Yeah because we all know the funniest aman tv. With jeff wilson. Like the blackley on mad. Tv was deborah walson. Who yeah he was a queen and you know why she probably stood out is because she got to play stories again. They see other places and it has to polynesia. Debra wilson is like hello governor. Wilson like we will look but again argue maintenance house bring that extra off to the table and she was doing things no other person that cast could do because they were unique to a black woman's experience so i think also genius is even the title of the show. A black lady sketch. Show robin cole. Purpose at the beginning was for to be not be story about. Robin didi and friends. It was more of like this is a representation of a black woman ping woman pick a black story. It's not defined in the ought to one experience and hope that this is one of many future shows that put him on a platform like this so this is a black lady schedule now but hopefully there would be more a black whatever in the future. I think that's what's so great. It's interesting because i wonder if you get the same thing that i do in you know. I'm on a daytime. tv show. We talk a lot about things. Race comes up in conversations and just for instance other day we were talking about this woman whose mother had a ridden affair with charles manson while he was in jail and then she now has one with another convicted killing increase. Watts and my comment was yeah. It's kinda strange. It's always random wide ladies who are having these kinds of sort of like assorted affairs with murderers and the white lady on my show. Said you know what you're absolutely correct and this fan tweeted at me and she was like you know. How would you feel if i said a random black. It's always random black woman. And i thought about it and i was. I don't know but i'm not afraid to talk about race. And the way. I talk about racist not in a in a racist way or oppress somebody else. I talk about it for comedy. Do you guys ever get the people that say well what we did it. Why lady comedy show would you guys before they don't need to watch. The show is just the title along turns. Some people are in it just like the word. Black is such a strong powerful word. It's so strange how it turned terms. People's it just upsets upset stomach. It makes the man why fido what off. And it's like sir ma'am had troll. Have you watched the show at relax. Take effect and it's also the fact that shows to exist you never you never explore the reason why our show has to exist now. Why it's doing so well because there's been some of us like not having misdeed at the table. Yes so like. I was one of the many black women who got to test for. Snl years back when keenan thompson had made the point that where the black women on us to now so it's like the fact that these questions have to be asked. You should be annoyed at the fact that black people wanna see table and wants to play saying energy unexplored. Why do conditions are the way they are for show like ours to have to exist. Yes our show. No one would ever get to experience the layers in the range. The us on the show have been able to. Where else would. I have been able to have the opportunity to do that. So all hell all hell awful. Hbo for giving us this opportunity in this platform to do things. And i've been at this game for minute and i have not gotten the same amount of love and and feedback in appreciation for my talent and range and to be able to do and even apply a lot of my skills to.

"Monday nighter in San Francisco short week fly back from the West Coast. Sunday night or against Pittsburgh. Um okay at Denver at New England. I mean, you looked at those that stretch of four games. If you're figuring they're gonna be in a race. They're gonna be playing critical football games. San Francisco, Pittsburgh, New England. Sunday, Monday night or Sunday night or Monday. Nighter in four weeks. Yanks What happened? They were all bad San Francisco. Every single player in their team was hurt. They had opt outs that injury that the ball interest was right. They Pittsburgh Had gone from 11, No 10 and no to they can't score on offense. And then New England was just e mean they were bad all season, that first matchup that was really close. You know, I was. It's the Cam Newton fumble that seals the deal for the bills, but it's not like you walked away going New England but I didn't think I'd be that close. But I mean, you walked away going knowing it's not good, so that you would have looked at that and thought. Well, that's a really difficult closing stretch. And what happens, you blow out Sanford. You beat Pittsburgh and you annihilate New England because none of them were good and annihilate Denver to Yeah, but all I didn't look at that. I mean, never would have, you know, Actually, I would have said, Oh, Debra could be a tough game. But that fan Miller wasn't there and stuff. No, no Bradley chub. They Yeah, it's interesting because that that's something you don't really take into account in. May is the injuries that will happen with teams that it just you know, San Francisco goes on that run where they lose, like one of their all pro defensive lineman. And, like three consecutive weeks, no Jimmy G Camel goes down. Hey, you goes down! Who's there? Other receiver? The But 100 Point Yeah. Can you born with that kind of porn? It's not there anymore. It was there. Any sign with the Patriots? No, he's in. Yes, he signed in New England. That's right. I'll see. Look what we got here. Gonna break it Silly Dost balsam Debo, so they don't have d was nicked up. Did you remember Don't up for playing that game. He might have played idea. Just maybe come back recently from an injury. He wasn't a full strength yet. They not only that they end up losing so they lost Bosa. Solomon Thomas. The trade traded the Forest bunker. Yeah, like they just there was just a tough year for that with the line was just a shell of what it was the previous year when I went to the Super Bowl, Jeff Wilson running back who is their fourth stringer going into the year? So Yeah, it's Injury's definitely happen and that that will definitely make the schedule. It's the one thing about the bills that I've just been so enamored with is how they've been able to stay healthy. They lose just consistently. They're losing the least amount of, you know games lost by players. Just one of any team. They just they stay healthy. I knocked. I know you didn't find out enough and I'll not too well. So having said all that We'll talk about what we think is the toughest stretch of the schedule for the Bills next season. We'll do that in a moment. Eight all three old 5 50 to join us. And it was awesome. Was a really cool experience for May. Yeah, that is awesome. It was awesome until the final seven minutes, right? Yeah, right up until the cold water right in your quarter jumps the big Uh, that's a tough deal. Tough deal. Mark Mark Schlereth, three time Super Bowl champ with pathogen dot com Path. 03 jen dot com For to make sure everything's looking good in the in the future Here. Hey, Mark a little bit on the Shanahan's You mentioned, you know, given that you do have AH, connection to them. And you follow Kyle a little bit here. You probably know Money's a little kid. You know, he tough year last year, you know, two years ago Great. The one loss record is not the same. Ishaan McVeigh and Sean McDermott was hired the same time. What is your feeling on? Kyle Shanahan is a head coach. Money's phenomenal, I think. Very much like his father. He will tell you. Here's what I like his ability to communicate to his players. Here's what we're gonna do here is why we're gonna do it. Here's how it's going to affect us. And here is you know what's gonna happen. And he lays it out for you, and then it it unfolds exactly the way he lays it out. And that's incredible. Like the just see, connective itty you have with your coach when they could tell you why and and also sell you on. Hey, man, if you do this for me, right, you get involved in blocking you do this is a receiver. Here's how we're gonna create. You know, five explosives and you're going to get two of those explosives in like it just is Into me. One of the reasons he's great is it's not only attacking the weakness of the opponent but also mitigating your own weaknesses and never putting you in a position to be exposed. He does a great job with those things as a coach and Just a great job of helping everybody understand what everybody's issues are both offensively in defensively, I think he's a phenomenal coach Last year was You know, last year was the perfect storm of injury, coronavirus and everything else, but I think he's a phenomenal young coach. And from a game planning standpoint, I will tell you this travel around the NFL calling is your Fox. Um, there's not one team that I talked to. They did not break down and try to steal San Francisco's running game. And basically, study sandwiches goes running game in the off season. Everybody in the NFL Tried to copy some form or fashion of that and try to understand it at a deeper level. So, um, that that tells you a little bit about how people in this league feel about Kyle Shanahan? What he does offensively, That's great that I was just gonna end it with that question, because you're having one those two Super Bowls with the Broncos when you guys were running it like crazy. I've seen how Mike developed his running game with all those different backs and how Kyle's doing it now with Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, you name him that so many different Names. I was going to ask you. What was the secret sauce that Mike and Kyle have? It isn't Bobby Turner, you know is running backs Coach. Is that the way their offense of line blocks? Well, I mean, I know we don't get to where we're not gonna go to a film session here in 60 seconds. But what is the secret sauce on the run game mark? Well, I think one is getting all 11 players that believe in it to adhere to it to believe in it to get involved in it. And then with Kyle, it's You can take one play. Right. You could run. Let's call in 19 hand off and you could run 19 Hand off 19 handoff force. You can insert guys and different in different places. You can have the tight end, you know, go across the formation all suddenly becomes 19 handoff week so you can essentially move one or two players. Right in that in that steam. Nine guys are doing exactly what they always do. 100% of the time you moved to guys, and it looks like a completely different play to the defense. They have to react differently. They have to move differently because of strength moves. Everything moves the player in search from a gap to a big gap to his D gap in that movement, and so when you presented to the defense Nine guys are doing the same thing they do every single time. Two guys were doing something different, and that one play now looks to a defense like 12 place. And so it just makes them play on their heels, and everybody is committed to it. And that's that's the beauty of of, you know the way they run the ball and how they execute those things. And so they do a just an incredible job of doing that, and And you know everybody being on that same page. Well, well said, and then you're right. They do it and they run the ball beautifully. And, gosh, you know, so close to a championship. We'll see if you can get back there in that tough NFC West, so every go check out path. 03 jen dot com. Mark Schlereth for Fox doing a great Do you have a call on Sunday? You put you put you put you on the spot here like yeah, Yeah, No, I would My wife get yellow because she's I'm gonna take Kansas City and she's not happy about it because we're you know, we're Broncos. So that's a little bit like eating a turkey sandwich when you pick the chief. Well, you got it. So so, Tommy just doesn't quite get seven, huh? I hope you get the I'm a man and I hope he gets them and I'm cheering for him. I think the chief's or just a better.

I'm curious because you've been in the game so long, and especially with the quarterback position representing these guys. The Stafford golf trade, and that was that was pretty unique. And then what did you What do you think There's so much talking? Don't know if anybody gets moved. But Shawn Watson, all the different rumors around quarterbacks. What is your take on that specific trade and just everything that we're hearing in terms of what could be ah lot of quarterbacks moving in the off season. Wanna do one insert, and I'll get your question, which we also have Ronald Jones Junior out of USC right in 2000 Yards, just hearing he's on Tampa Bay somewhere. Very heavily offense. Um uh, What's the over at the over this game, huh? Blossom test sound. What Because Change. Greg like in the time we've been on each other has been that the quarterback was all these important, but now you cannot win in professional football and never have. I hope you get to the Super Bowl without a franchise quarterback. And let's find that as someone that you win, because of rather than just with who can build around pretending, 12 years and who in adversity. You know the quarterback's throwing a couple interceptions. The game is getting really out of hand. The center's looking at him like he's on hallucinogens, and the crowd starts to boo. Now what did you do it and he come part metalized adopt a quiet mind. And elevate his level of play to take a team to intrude. Victory. Montana was great it that Patrick is sensational of that. So with the Sean you've got a franchise quarterback in the old days, players. Constantly asked to be traded, but here's the rub. Would always tell players who want to be traded. If you want to be traded, don't say a word. Publicly because if you do, you're putting your incumbent team into a compromised position. Other teams will have no mercy, and they'll never get a respectable deal. Am and so by asking to be traded. You're actually creating a situation where you're least likely to be traded, so this would be more east. Discussions take place behind the scenes all the time..

This future would be in Tampa forever and venue Tester Verdy is their target. They want him this a quarterback, So we went to Tampa and said, Look, Um you told us would be forever. We're not just being traded where you want to go where you want to send them. Wolf figure out the trade ourselves. And he felt that there was something so inherently great about. Well, first of all, Bill Walsh told us Joe Montana was going to retire because in fact was so bad. Um That really worked out. Well, you know, I've lived in the bear. I'm living in Berkeley. I never ever ever would have wanted someone to follow Joe Montana and do with them. I knew he was tonight on So, um, we thought well, Montana actually has to retire, but long story short. Uh, so it was being in that system, so we're sort of Ranger trade. And San Francisco paid a lot of money, but they didn't have to give up a lot because we didn't want to cripple the team uses going to and then we assumed he would start from the start. And then, uh, Law school. Yeah, he had to find various things to occupy a sign because His presence made Montana the most competitive he's ever been, and he had great years on Al Davis. I loved Al Davis. Um, I had a house in Berkeley and he used to call me like I could tell what time it is because the camp a neatly by the campus, bring the time he got off on the swallow fart and then one apartment to apartment. Most of the discussion would be about world history politics, and he had read a lot of history and He was very focused, and we would talk about politics and books and culture and everyone so all about football, but he had It's incredible ability to pick up information. Because he was constantly on the phone, so he was better informed about everything happening about in the league and everything happening on every team. Then you could believe Did you ever have to negotiate with him? Mia. Darrell Russell, Right, Your hamburgers. Yeah, That's right. No, that was Bruce Allen and lets the Desmond Howard No. That was probably Bruce. Helen to, um hurt Marsh. No, they had negotiators. So What I thought Woz. This is crazy to have agents versus teams when we're really together. Have one God, which is built the brand and drive revenue into the sport, so we shouldn't be having ugly negotiations. I should help owners figure out how to use the Internet. How to do an NFL network had to get a big TV contract, and that was my focus. So when I would Come to somebody like Al, I would almost speak as if I was his agent for or adviser because the better teams did that Doesn't leak did the better football dead? The better my players would do. Another player. He got a contract with and it was pretty painless. You know where the negotiation with the 40 Niners? I don't know. Les and he battled in all that ankle injury was stubborn to heal this year, but he ran for 600 yards the lead the 40 Niners. He scored 10 touchdowns. He's obviously been strong, but I think his future is even brighter. Tell me about your relationship with Jeff Wilson Jr. Well, he's great. Last year At this time, I went to Jeff Wilson Junior day in his hometown, which is sort of like an East Texas. And if you've never had an experience like that they do a parade. The whole town comes out is smaller town. But you saw how loved he was by so many people. He's genuinely warm person with the charitable heart and Remember, we were trying to figure out where to sign into the one drafted and when the 40 Niners called, I said, um, I need to talk to John Lynch. So with one away to go, they took over on the 20. They ran Mostert for three. Okay, so now that clock moving here they didn't call from that was that was no joke. The next play was they ran most of for two with 27 seconds left the chief's called time out, thinking they had a chance. Then he threw the past Jeff Wilson and foremost want ego that got him all the way up to the 47 yard line. And they took a time out of 14 seconds ago. Then he throws a pass deep down the sideline to kill the one. I'm thinking over 42 yards, but they called offensive passenger pass it and then they just ran it right. Or do they just then? They just took a knee. That was it wasn't offensive. P I was in a bad call it I think it was a bad call wasn't a questionable offensive. Pia. Have I tapped out on the use chick touchdown. However, I am saying the guy wins most of the day and games he starts and got us in the Super Bowl, so I'm not. I mean, if if the Niners went into next season with Garoppolo, I'm telling you, it's not the end of the world. They might even have a good year. We've seen the end of the world. Um, but at some point runners still have to run and you look at Jeff Wilson, for instance, He obviously had that really good game against New England, and then he got. He got hurt late in that game. Then he's come back the last couple of weeks and and looked really good. And when you watch Jeff Wilson, you see a guy that's got excellent short area explosiveness. He runs hard. He's probably got better finishing crates than people think. He's a highly competitive runner. So you know, you look at a guy like that any any runs through contact? So you see traits of a good runner. Now we're not going to sit here and say he's Derrick Henry. But at the end of the day, I I think that a runner still have to have traits to do this Now. We don't know if Jeff Wilson is a guy that if you play him for 16 games with Russia 1500 yards, we don't know that about Raheem Mostert. Either. Re moster is obviously a very explosive guy who runs Probably harder than people think is well. Neither one has been in a situation when he's asked to be the guy for 16 weeks and durability is a Is a trait for running back If you're going to be a quote unquote foundation back in this league durability is a factor. Neither one has shown that trade at this point in their career, so we don't know that. But if you're just looking at running traits, athletic traits, they've got pretty good traits. Do the 40 Niners have their linebacker corps for the next five years under these guys, assuming they keep the scheme the same. Are these guys capable of holding things down for you know the next half decade based on their skill sets? Well, I really like one or I think he's the past three linebacker in the league because he plays every snap and that I think he's a three down linebacker. I think he's great. Um, you know, I think his experience in college at BYU basically almost being kind of a hybrid linebacker, safety slot corner, you know has allowed him to be what he is in this league. But I really liked Reno. I remember watching him coming out of Arkansas thought he was a really interesting player. Um, didn't have the size exactly that people were looking for, Um he was a late around pick. But I think in the two years he's been with the Niners. I think you'd be hard pressed to say that he has not played well. He flashes every single week. They give great Cosell earlier this week with the Scott Reese and carry Crowley and I would totally agree with Craig on Warner and Greenlaw. I think those guys are both emerging as Pro Bowl caliber. Linebackers, and you could never have enough Pro bowl caliber linebackers. That is for sure. All right, guys, you know, just kind of looking at this thing Seattle opened. It's a 5.5 point favorite. They're not going to rest their starters. Why? Because they could still win the number one seed in the NFC.
