Climate Change Is A Top Campaign Issue At Least For Democrats
"This year climate change is a top campaign issue at least for Democrats. Yesterday, we looked at president trump's record. On the issue today, we'll explore toe Biden's plan, which is the most ambitious climate proposal. Any presidential candidate has ever laid out. We've got NPR's Nathan rods and NPR's Jeff Brady both of our climate team with us. Hi, guys good morning. So. Let's just the obviously our Joe Biden and Donald Trump do not exactly agree on climate? Change. Absolutely yeah I think that's a fair way to put it. President trump repeatedly rejects climate science and generally he depicts regulations to address climate. Change is bad for the economy and bad for jobs Joe Biden calls climate change existential threat to our health, our economy, our national security, the whole thing but he's also trying to frame it right now as an opportunity you know when? Donald. Trump thinks about climate change he thinks hoax. When I think about I think jobs. Good paying union opposite put. To work. Building a stronger more. Climate resilient nation I mean nate. That sounds great. But has he laid out a plan for how he would actually make that happen. Yes, and it is a lot Hewitt invest money for one climate. Change is part of his economic recovery plan for the pandemic. But he's also says he'll do executive actions right? Other Gate. He says he's GONNA re enter the Paris climate agreement and put the US back in the global climate conversation He's talking about conserving land for biodiversity stopping offshore drilling in the Arctic. Methane from existing oil and gas tell me when you want me to stop. But he's also putting money towards climate adaptation measures to make communities more resilient to sea level rise flooding hurricanes fires. You know the type of things we've experienced over the last few months and he's also promising massive investments in green energy and infrastructure. This is where the. Jobs part of what he's promising comes in. So that means more solar more wind high speed rail, electric car chargers all with the goal of zeroing out carbon pollution from our electrical sector by twenty, thirty five and making the country carbon neutral. So it's contributing anymore to climate change by twenty fifty. And I mean I know a lot of campaigns I mean the rhetoric is aspirational, right but even so I mean by twenty fifty shifting the entire US economy to be carbon neutral to sounds like a massive undertaking is he going to be able to accomplish that Jeff? You know most of the experts I've talked with thinking is possible. The plan includes a lot of executive actions. The Biden says, he would take right away some of the nature mentioned. It also this plan requires new laws passed by Congress to create policies for meeting that overall goal. Now, that's going to require a democratic majority in the Senate most likely I talked with Scott Siegel. He's a partner with the law firm Bracewell, which represents a lot of energy clients including fossil fuel companies, and you can imagine that they have a lot at stake care. He thinks guidance climate plan is realistic. He says, it includes both regulations and incentives for people. In Industries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and I think when a plan has both and doesn't rely only on the carrot or the stick, it's a sign of maturity in approaching these issues. Siegel likes that it leaves room for some fossil fuels with carbon offsets and capture, and he points out that the electric power sector is already on its way to meeting that interim 2035 call some of those companies in utilities are setting net zero carbon goals all on their own. Yeah, and that's an important point. I talked to Karl Frisch who worked at the US Department of Energy under three administrations including trump's she's now at the Rocky Mountain Institute you know and I asked her if she thinks it could all be done by Biden alone if he gets elected. No. So to get where we need to go on climate in the United States to reduce emissions and build a sustainable economy, it takes action by the executive branch action by Congress. And action by state leaders, city leaders, business leaders on the ground, and she says, you know a lot of these actions are already happening at the local level. So a Biden administration would be smart to try to build on that existing momentum. So something we hear president trump attack Joe Biden on a lot is fracking fracking for natural gas. The president alleging that Joe Biden wants to ban it. Let's just clear this up Jeff Does Joe Biden WanNa. Ban fracking. No, he doesn't want to ban fracking. He has repeatedly said that he would not ban all fracking just new fracking on federal land and when trump says that it's aimed at voters and energy producing swing states like Pennsylvania, which actually has very little federal land but that's still a point of contention for for Biden, with mini climate activists who say the country should stop all fracking and keep all fossil fuels in the ground to slow climate change. So. What about the politics of climate change you know I mean we know what the facts are that it is happening that humans have contributed to it as well. But what about the politics of climate change because we know for Republicans it's an incredibly divisive issue where do Democrats stand on Biden's proposals? Well, polling indicates a majority of registered voters in the US view climate change as a real threat to the country, and when you look at Republicans climate change is actually a lot less divisive you get. But in terms of Democrats a recent poll by Pew found that more than two-thirds of Joe Biden supporters sit climate change is very important to them. So Biden's. Plan is not as ambitious as what some Progressive Democrats want to see it is not the green new deal despite what the president repeatedly says, but it is more ambitious than what Joe Biden had initially proposed. So for example, his plan now includes an environmental justice component which would aim to address the fact that people of color are disproportionately affected by pollution climate change and have been for a long time. His plan says he'd do that by investing in disadvantaged communities pulling polluters accountable I talked to Michelle Roberts with the Environmental Justice Health Alliance about this, and she has a long history with Biden because she's actually from Delaware, his home state and she says historically. Always overly supportive when it came to dealing with polluters like dupont over communities like hers he was a Filibuster for the political economy that was running the great state of Delaware. Does that make sense BA- Roberts says she's met with Biden since and she thinks his views have a she supports him but it's going to be important. She says if he's elected to hold them accountable all the things that he's promising to do now. NPR's nate wrought and NPR's Jeff. Brady, thank you for your reporting. Thank you. Thank

What to Do When Your Customer Says, Not yet
"Thanks so much for joining me today. Jeff. It's a pleasure. Thanks for having me very much. This. This'll be some fun. Yes, it will. It absolutely will sell. In your book. You'll about in one of your books you talk the idea of resistance a lot. And I love it if you would define that and talk about why. It's so important when dealing with foul. Sure. Is Important thing in dealing with a lot of different things but but I, I came across the term I was reading Stephen Press feels book the the war of art really fascinating, little book easy to read but very challenging and he it. The book is written for artists, painters, writers, people who deal with a writer's block painters block, and he uses this term resistance as almost as mythical force that's out to get us in its at that part of us. That's that's within that says boy that's uncomfortable for I don't WanNa do it and the resistance comes along and says, don't worry about you have to do this. It's not that that big a deal and the resistance is. So kind that even makes up an excuse as to why we shouldn't do it. We can feel better about ourselves and sleep at night. So so it it's really a a human problem. It's not certainly just in the sales world when when things are potentially uncomfortable, the resistance rears its ugly head and says not enough I. I got a better way for you don't do it at all. So that's that's I. If I'm going to ride on follow up, which is a skill that many sales professionals are not particularly good at and they find uncomfortable than I had to just hit what the source plot is and I think that's what the I think. That's right there resistance that sore spot. Okay. So I'm I'm curious about because I totally agree with you that sales your really bad a follow up. What why do they resist that? What is it about the follow up? That is so uncomfortable. You know that's a great. An important question because what we see here is that that's got to be rooted in something right and so what's going to happen is that we're going to look at it and we're going to think okay as a consumer when if people tried to call me and we are. Minds Amelie go to telemarketers right people are going to just do nothing but annoy me interrupt my my dinner hour. And suggesting to sales professionals don't be that person if you're annoying, you shouldn't be calling in the first place. So if you're not going to provide value in the service of some kind in the follow up the idea of calling in just saying just checking in seeing if you're ready to buy because I've got a you know visa payment coming up you're. Not doing that for them, you're doing that for you. So I think that that's where that that comes from that sense It's that fear of intrusion marketing and the fear of being not light but I would argue if you are adding value if you're legitimately adding value, there's nothing to be afraid of you're doing something that your customer will actually rather appreciate. It. So the planning process then is really really critical because otherwise you're going to do that. You know what? My Friend Art Subject Parole Officer follow up just checking in some yeah. Nobody likes that. Oh my gosh I I love this because I think. ITSEL so important for sales people to. Shift their thinking away from I have to sell you something to I need to learn about you. I need to find out what really matters to you, and then be helpful the ill. So that were building a relationship that makes sense where you want me around because I bring value to you. That that's right and I would broaden that I wouldn't just say to sales people I think any small business owner who's looking at an has the opportunity for you know somebody's thinking about buying something a product or service of any kind whatsoever just reaching out and letting them know you know I was thinking about you and I. I thought yet remembered this I wanted to send it along and have you considered that over here if you just stop brainstorm a little bit and ask what problems. My customers had the didn't even know they have. How can I solve problems that they don't even know they have right now talk about being valuable Linden and a a real trusted adviser. I. Think That's when you play that role when when you're solving problems that your customer doesn't you know they have. Well feels like then you really have to be listening pretty actively and without an agenda in order to be able to. Pick Up. On. What's really going on with them? Yeah and if you're not, then you're sorry you're not a good salesperson if you're if you're not listening and you. Yeah Okay I if your product is all about your product, you got a problem because ultimately your product is nothing more nothing less than the solution that's going to improve their life but it's about the customer not about your product and so if we look at it from that perspective you you you you're selling shovels. That's great. But what they really need is a hole. So why why do they need the whole? Let's figure that out first and then we'll determine whether the shovel is the right solution.
PlayStation 5 UI revealed: “Activity” shortcuts, picture-in-picture
"Christian. Spicer what is your story of the week? My story of the week is I wanNA, take a mental picture of right now where we are and I want to compare it to the end of this generation's life cycle because that is why I love you I the playstation five revealed issue I. Finally, thank you. We've seen a lot of the xboxes in the PS five has revealed. It's and the simplified kind of cleaner approach and showed off what can happen by pushing the PS bind on the controller and all the shortcuts, and so you don't need to go into the full home menu kind of get everything you need and. I think it's really slick looking for what I've seen I think it's you know until I go hand on with it I don't know how intuitive it is because there's always that line of like ad in featured and is the thing I want where I want it to be or not But what I'm super curious about is if or when it changes because that is one area where I feel like Microsoft has been very flexible over the years with the xbox one line of consoles and how much of that you I changed and as far as I can remember that ps four Cross media bar has kind of been what it is and I think they're not. Stars, I'm concerned. It's like it is because it it just is what it is. It's like this is my eighty. Corolla. It's great but the STO works. But it is. Yeah a little cumbersome in this I feel like the new one. I like what they're trying to do with it I think but Mario and Jeff I'm curious what your thoughts are on it from a user perspective. We'll let's just before we get into what we think about it. Let's just kind of. Summarize the. which is it's it's much more visual. Right? I mean the cross media bar has been text that comes up at the bottom of the screen and you move across it and pull things up and yeah there's a few images of games here or there but mostly it's it's a menu, right? It's a big long menu It's it looks to be the case that this new playstation five Ui. Is kind of using a card system that highlights what calling game play opportunities. It says, basically, this shows you can go back to things you missed, and so on it also shows that you can jump directly into levels or challenges that you WanNa plan certain games, and there's a new picture in picture feature that lets you view other parts of the game without leaving the screen or area you're currently in so Mario. Christians. Question is a good one. What do you make of it? What do you think is the more visual thing better or is it just more for the sake of more? It's funny because this whole week I have nothing but wanting to see what this you I was, and then of course, in one random day, it just dropped and then we got the state of play for it. So I'm so excited to actually to actually see, and then what I saw was a card game. Much and you know what? I love me some Card Games, the Simpsons Card Games still on my favorite games, I've ever played my life by all about card games. Exactly. But when it came to what I saw. At first I was like, yeah, I'm excited for new stuff but ultimately when it came to cards. My feeling was I just even though they're trying to look try to clean up some stuff with the lower bar with the audio function. Oda Audio functions. But when he got to the cards, things it just to me just look like more of a cluttered mess and I was terrified by it. Now granted majority of those were like it looked like for trophies in terms of percentages and stuff like that, which could lead into more information pilot complete those things that's all well and good. But then there's obviously the developer. Notes on the left where I I mean. I'll be honest I don't read any of those messages that come up when I look at my ps four and so for it to be there, I'm just hoping that there is going to be more customisation terms of how I want it to be in terms of removing certain things and just focusing on certain areas. That's just my. Take of it because every year I felt like my love for the PS four Ui had waned especially up to now where I feel like it is a drag in order to go from one place to the other. Obviously the the biggest thing for this generation is definitely be speed and I really hope that's all speeded up I do like the fact that there's games in media there look like they're separated now in terms of different areas. So if I, really WANNA focus on all my media stuff it'll be in one specific place it is. Now it's not good I hope. It's better. But when it comes to games, I'm also happy to the fact that it looks like everything's optimized for the game that you're playing and overlays on top of that for the most part. That's the big key thing I think is really nice about this. You I. Yeah you're right I. Didn't mention that and that is a big part of it is that all of this overlays on top of the game, you never actually leave the game you're playing or at least you don't have to leave the game you're playing in order to access all those features whereas push. PS Button on your your controller now it takes you out of the game put you on that blue screen and you're you know you're completely in a different

"Como's Jeff Pooja. Secretary of state, Kim Wyman has been fielding a lot of questions about this year's election. Whyman is a Republican, but many in her own party say voting by mail or through drop boxes will lead to widespread voter fraud. That is simply not the case. But what woman is more concerned about is voter intimidation were having a lot of chatter on social media that there's going to be voter intimidation. "The company Jeff what it did show well it you know it shows actually what you would expect if you pay any attention to tack that white and Asian men earn the most and women tend to be clustered toward the bottom but what's interesting is they didn't have to disclose that also the fact that we're seeing it is is really unique this is that it's never been collected before and basically never been seen in the wild it's interesting it's just last week lift I believe also out of its you know some of the problems within its its work force and some of the attacks that have happened in the cars another similar thing where you know it doesn't look good but they're transparent yeah we with uber and city basically did something similar with pay numbers earlier this year and and all the companies are kind of thing now we did it why don't you and so far there's not been a a rush to the door of companies that wanted to join them because they see what happens when they do but most of the advocates say this is the only way we're going to kind of figure out what's really going on because when you see it so black and white it starts to make people pay attention so what is the company said they're doing to close that gap well this is the problem the data that they're showing now is basically this is because women are in lower paying jobs and mentoring high paying jobs what they have to do is check check change society to some degree change their internal promotion rates and who they can get to come work there and how long they'll stay but they also need to basically is an industry and that's why they say they this should all be released by all companies you kinda gotta get together and figure out how are you going to get women in the better paying jobs because into you do this sort of pay gap is just going to persist I mean the World Economic Forum says globally is going to take two hundred years to close the gap if we keep doing things the way we are well that and again does distance I'll say it's taking steps to that's a plan yeah I mean they're making like one of the things they've done is they said that in the tech world twenty six percent of the available employees are female and so they set a goal wearing it twenty six percent of our employees will be female which they met but only twenty percent of their executives are female now there's like okay so we need to close that gap between twenty six and twenty it's stuff like that and as the numbers come up as things get better assuming they do if you start hitting targets like that if everyone were to do that you would start see progress sort of what you've seen as more women join corporate boards so I guess we'll check back with you in twenty two nineteen to see if if it's happened thanks for talking to us Bloomberg news reporter Jeff green you can hear our tech of business reports weekdays at twelve thirty okay CBS at for more tuned into Bloomberg TV at two PM KCBS news time twelve thirty six two minutes to traffic.
"jeff what" Discussed on The Nat Coombs Show
"He can make a big play every now and again but when it really mattered more times than not he didn't come through interesting so someone like manning is probably not as capable around and after a quarterback back but it was precisely it was time to make the big plays. Clutch Eli one Super Bowls Ravens steelers interesting braves bounce back game across the steelers suddenly seeing signs seeing signs of life again. I'll take the ravens. I think I think Harbaugh has drilled into their heads this week that this is a big game. This is a divisional game. It's the steelers as we look bad. They got to fix their defense which was just gashed by the browns last week. I think there's so much writing on this game for the Ravens. It's hard for me not to take take Baltimore. I know they the Bengals that they beat which frankly jeff you and I could run around the office now. Get a team that would be competitive against the bengals. I think right now but I let steed is at home here. It's Heintz Heintz. I think like Mason Rudolph in the presser off there was an a no you can get read too much into this situation but the way he was talking about his team in the way that he was talking about. He's respectfully respectfully to rot this bug about this show now and he wasn't arrogant with it. He was just composed without the okay. I buy into buying say him. I think this is a guy. That looks looks legit on that very surface level. I think he looks legit and he looked composed against the bengals different proposition against the Ravens D. but I like the steelers at home it close but I'm going that bills titans. The bills really showed some game didn't they did against New England incredible when you think how Mediocre Tom Brady was on that particular day right and that's testament to the bills but of course they've got problems of their on the other side of the ball with Josh Allen. We don't know if he's going to start Barclay to Chase Daniel Equals Matt Barkley Fleet. It's so difficult to go in without you starts at the. NFL is a better place when the bills are good. Yes bills Mafia when they're jumping through tables and they're a jumping off those vans. I've never seen Moore guys lined up with the plastic handcuffs on that outside the bills game last year when I was in Buffalo. It's a great scene. The defense is when you're intercepting Tom. Brady and the red zone. You're doing something right because that never happened so I am taking the bills right point love that me me too and I'm big on the titans and big what they're doing that and as we said you're on. I think they're being underrated but I think the bills get it back. I think a low scoring game though to be on his jeff speaking of the Patriots need to get their offense going again what a way to deal match up to that against Washington who in the ball and thought an three or four teams the NFL right now horror stinky join out so I've got a feeling Brady is going to unleash hell yes in Washington. I was is in net. I was in. DC Two weeks ago for Monday night and that's a sad state of affairs. They're they're bad franchise. They had to put the Wayne Haskins in because Jay groome trying to save his job but he's not ready to play. They got nothing. What's Gruden say now who's going to start Colt McCoy getting thrown in what's going going on. I understand what Gruden's trying to do. The odds that Dwayne Haskins was ready to play are very small but when you're probably going to lose your job. Have you have to take that chance. So what if what if Dwayne Haskins looks great against the giants last week now. If you're Jay Gruden you say well yeah. I developed developed him dancing. We're getting them ready to go. You know you want him to play. Look at how I got him playing. Unfortunately he's just not ready yet so I would say patriots by four touchdowns get. I'm glad they all my lock of the week. Glad you said that broncos charges. DENVER A- As disappointing as Washington not far of VIC Fangio a big hug along Vic Fangio two times this year they've lost at home on last second field the Jacksonville last week in Chicago. Yeah they talk about quarterbacks. They gotTA figure out their quarterback situation. The you know I don't know eventually the the kid from Missouri Lock at some point but I think the chargers at home better team. I'm going yeah no brainer. This little bits a bit harsh from the Broncos but yeah I I think I'm charges to. This is a hard one to call. PAC is cowboys. Mortar game is going to be really eighty really tight wants to call a Davante. Adams has stolen game although he went off injured training question mark their thing roaches vintage stuff once once again. I feel like Green Bay's ahead of schedule. I feel like they're start might've been a little bit of a Mirage because it's you can tell that Aaron Rodgers Matt Leflore are are not quite on the same page yet. Can that's a that's a big work. In progress with most head. Coach is being the same situation with our emergencies very generational talent little so incredibly opinionated. I would say any first year. Head coach would be in that spot not the broader and let's just say for example. If Andy Reid thank eh that would be a rare and Rogers to say okay whatever you say Andy. We'll do it when it's Matla floor and your claim to fame as being on the Sean mcvay Tree Eh. You're telling a future hall of Famer is what you're GONNA do. You'RE GONNA probably get some pushback. I think the cowboys win that game. I do well at the cowboys. Although it was worried about this the saints wants defense was so strong it was last week with the cowboys. Just was at one of those bad days at combination. I mean bad day at the opposite. You're playing a New Orleans. That's a really hard place to play. I I mean the the cowboys Jerry Jones Bourbon Street the night before the game. I mean there's there's a lot going on got imagine he would be tucked up in bed early. upshaw sure colts chiefs chiefs accords that thriller. We mentioned earlier against the lies that got it done. Mahomes didn't really have a typically strong day for him but when it mattered masterminded that draw you know here's my advice the okay the next couple of days when you see the bears fans around London one thing you don't want to say to them is you could attract your bisky because they'll wheeled around and they'll spill their pints. They'll be very upset with you and in your face talking I know I I know we could have drafted Patrick mahomes would've should've I love the chiefs. I love the homes colts. I mean when you lose. Andrew lucked the way they lost the retirement. How does the team bounce back from that. Maybe we should have had the colts in that conversation. You're on news drop just before the start the season but everyone seems to be quite big on them early on with with percent saying look it's not. Andrew Luck yeah good good enough yeah but but like Chase Daniel career backups or career backups for a reason there's always the anomaly there's always the exception to the rule but but I wasn't buying the whole Jakopin set the second calling of town raining. We're both looking the chiefs that Monday night football the browns Torri up off the last week shenanigans organs particularly notable for Nick Chubb Breaking Out Jarvis Landry having a big game while he's in concussion. They didn't without Odell Beckham meeting a big game so so that is worrying in a way for the forty niners who have had a terrific starts this season in themselves. I'm spying a Lotta points in this one yeah I mean it's a game the Bronco Win San Franscisco a unique story because this is the year that Kyle Shanahan. You have to win. You know they had a great run when Garoppolo I came to San Francisco two years ago. They want all those games aims to end the year expectations were high last year. Garoppolo gets hurt so if you're John Lynch if you're Kyle Shanahan you say well dynamic quarterback last year but this year pressures crushes on and they've responded so far very impressive but I think that's a team. That's GonNa just because of their division. I mean they're playing with the Rams seahawks. They're going to kind of drift back to the middle of the pack and if the if the Browns fancy themselves or real playoff team this is a game you win Monday night particular director the have to took great shot off. Let's wrap up on the Browns quickly. I think they do make the playoffs they overcome the dysfunction and haphazard franchise that they still seem to be get into the playoffs dangerous side. I would not wanNA play on the players. They gotta make the playoffs I so I was never buying the super bowl hype because how `bout qualify for the Post Oh season and then we'll talk about point is terrific to see another crazy busy schedule with the bears in town dropping by HQ here and spending time talking to us is massive massively priebus pleasure. It was great. Remember everyone. If you see a bears fan walking around London don't print Petrov's by lips to say okay. We don't want any flights. It's we don't want any riots. Bears fans storming the castle just don't match posted wise words up. Jeff what aghast great to see Jeff really interesting insight extra video content incidentally from that over on ESPN UK's Youtube channel the boys will put out on our social media channels as well at the NC show facebook instagram twitter. The Dow Jones was at nineteen thousand eight hundred round up to twenty thousand and so now it's at twenty four thousand nine hundred sixty say the last couple of years, it's, it's gone up forty nine hundred it's going up, you know, four thousand points, we should be thrilled at that, and, yeah, that's great. "Radio acid blocker, Jeff. What about the holidays? So as I mentioned earlier, the first one in the strain actually the second one we had thanksgiving Hanukkah starts tonight. And then Christmas coming up in a couple of weeks here, the issues that we have to realize there are main categories of potential roblems when it comes to holidays. So you got your foods, you got your decorations? You got the gifts. And of course, we had the visitors and these are areas where we have to be very very careful about pets. That's not foods. So you know, the basics. I'm sure you've heard this like crazy we have to watch out for fatty foods. So for example, if the. Just with potato pancakes fried in oil donuts all fried in oil. This a lot of grease oil fatty foods can cause pancreatitis especially dogs. We've got to be very careful, the bigger foods, munchies, the nuts and raisins and chocolate. So things might be sitting at a table again, very very potentially dangerous to dogs. We gotta be very careful with that too raisins. We don't know which dogs are going to have a sensitivity to raise it. So with the record raisins, grapes. We just don't get any to be safe chocolate again the darker, the chocolate the more potentially dangerous the light of the trumpet. I mean, white chocolate Bobby find out total easily. No talk. Coco in it. But the bromine that is accurate greeting of CoCo. It's very very concentrated in the dark and in cocoa powder. One hundred percent cocoa powder. Very dangerous milk chocolate. A baked goods that have chocolate in it. I aren't usually as bad because they're they're so diluted out. But again, you want to be very very careful skins of Turkey, for example, or chicken ham, very fatty. So again, we need to be very very careful when it comes to that and nuts nuts a lot of oil. Walnuts. Retox macadamia nuts, very rich. And that's so these are the things we want to be careful not to mention the fact that you know, that can get locked into a throat you have a cat gets all of it or small dog. So again, it's exercise caution decorations. There's a lot of string casting, we know. Love string candles. You know cats are intrigued by flickering flame. So that ten times flickering flame. So they will come up to a candle weather to decorative candle. Whether it's a candle for the holiday, and they wanna tap it. They want to look at it because they see the flickering they moving objects, and they can knock it over start a fire. So do not do not leave Berkley candles lit unattended anyway. But certainly not with a cat nearby. Do not even take that chance be very very cautious. And again, as you know, the gifts are around and kids are unwrapping your gifts, and they're having like just a blast there sorts of all sorts of strings and ribbons again, it's just a a reason to be somewhat cautious. It's we know there are a lot of people coming by often. That's what's so nice about the holidays right festive. We got a lot of visitors got family friends coming over that type of commotion can somewhat upset our pets. Cats might freak. I try to bolt goals might do the same. If you have abnormals that are prone to that type of behavior you want it to be extremely cautious. Make sure again that you can put them in a safe room that if you have a fenced yard, and it's not freezing outside like it is like that. It's not like here in California is it's not a big outside and just make sure the yard is well fence, there's no escape routes definitely have them have identification. And and also from the food issue when you have dogs that are well socialized and do like to hang around. And you guessed there that love dogs. And are are just so thrilled that that dog is sitting by them because you know, the family members are better to the dogs don't waste time with you. But when that guest comments that chin is on the lap of that guest drooling as they're sitting there eating and just begging for a little something for food. So be very very officers. Detect your guests. Not a good idea. Please refrain from feeding the pets on the table. But. Having said that as you are creating your lists the holidays if not done so already make sure that you include your pets on that list of the things that they like things that occupy can occupy them while everybody else is opening enjoying the festivities. The dogs can have their fun to get them that favorite bone that whatever it is. And and also as far as food's it wouldn't be a bad idea to feed them their food at the same time. You are inside the dining room or wherever eating your food. So again, they'll be preoccupied and that will keep them safer as well. And you have God's they said that are kind of freak out with all the company it would be maybe safer for everybody involved to put them in a different room. And you know, it's kind of like we talk about same same thing with like halloween's thanksgiving all the holidays, though, their great we want our pets. Gotta be a little bit careful sometimes again, depending on your pets my mind, minor fine. They love the company. See they chill. They they're all over the couch. They're they're sitting on laps. But again, it all depends on and you know, your pets. That's you know, your dogs. You know, what turns them on? You know, what we know how they respond and react, etc. And and therefore it's just a precaution. So once again, it's the foods, mostly fatty foods, raisins nuts, grapes. Chocolate anything it's too rich too much. Oh, what I what I should add to this list. I mean, you're going to think, of course, people know that alcohol alcohol is who leave it or not. There are many dogs out there that don't mind the taste or maybe like the taste of alcohol, especially when it's buried in something that's really sweet or tasty otherwise, and they will they will absolutely drink on many occasions and the intoxication does happen dogs. Take a quick story. I was when I was in college I was in Berkeley in the longtime ago early seventies. And I was at a party with one of my lab, I brought my lab up with me to school back lab named sore and. Anyway, I was in a fraternity party drinking their beers. And all of a sudden some guy notices wet all over his hand. And he's kinda he was holding his you know, that big huge plastic red glass of beer at Cup. And was it like, it's a sixteen ounce or whatever twelve ounce or and and my dog is lapping up beer from his hand. He thought instead of by pulling away Intel getaway store, he said, oh, my God this Grady lights beer, before you know, all the friends are offering my dog beer. Well, he totally got drunk, and we were running at one point, and we had to make a turn right turn from from one street to another and he was running to kind of catch up with me, and he was drunk enough that he could quite make the turn and rent ready to can. So you have to know it does affect our pets be very, very careful. It's not fun. It's not cute is how sure obtruct online and seen many dogs in different states. I would say. A not unconscious, but certainly having some issues, brain wise because their owners or their owner's friends were getting them high on marijuana and the effects are there. They're not pretty it's not safer dog. It's not healthy for the dog. So you want to refrain from doing stuff like that in any way, shape or form? So add alcohol to list of things we've got to be very careful to avoid during the holidays. And then as gifts keep them involved, keep them active don't shoot them away. But also make sure that they stay safe and you as well, make sure to stay safe. I'm traveling for the next couple of weeks. So I will not be here live, but we will definitely you'll hear me of me 'cause we have some good shows to play and I'm anyway, happy for those who celebrate Hanukkah have a very very great fun. Hanukkah starting tonight and Christmas on the twenty fifth. Likewise. And but we will be back back just before Christmas, and we will talk and remind. You of some of these things as well as we get very close to the Christmas your holidays. So I have a great week couple of weeks everybody if you want to get hold of me,.

And owes Lou also hopefully, the weather clears up so I can go on to more bike rides. Yes. Bike rides in the bay area. You mad man. Those hills. Oh, it's delightful. I trained on those hills. I'm planning a trip down to Washington DC to talk to a lot of people. And I am continuing to run for congress and adding staff this week so fun times. Hey, well, I am doing a game of the year stuff. I'll making some. Yeah. I'm a case of exciting videos about return of the Oper din, which I think it is personally one of my top games of the year in some other videos as well for polygraph YouTube channel. It's still did make my top ten just based on the time the had spent with it. But now I finished it. Now, I'm done with it. Oh my God. It is incredibly good. I'll be happy to talk at length about it on a later episode, but it's a mystery game. Yeah. And it's I don't I would be honest and say out of all the games. I personally played the sheer. I can't think of anything I think would reach that caliber. I have games. I've enjoyed the scare like the new tomb raider and Spiderman. Yeah. But I don't think I played anything share that. I personally feel pushes the industry forward. But maybe it's just plays make games you. That's the main. That's pretty much the consensus about Spiderman. Right as that. Like, this is a very solid game. But nothing about is particularly like. Revolutionizing things like it's fun. It's a good game. It's a really good game. But yeah. Yeah. All right. Hey chephren. I don't find a lot of it tedious as exciting to find it more. So, but I find even like the gun cleaning, the clothes changing temperature stuff, really something. I don't think about much when I do it's mostly just fun, even the horse stuff. It was actually really nervous about. But I can love petting my horse love, my horse my horses. Definitely my wife in the game. Because all he does say good girl horse. Oh, he's such a good girl. He loves the Steelers. Okay level. The canned like little things he has to say about his horse. I know. But it's also like every time I get into a firefight on my horse. Then after it was like his garage. Okay. I know where our. Got a good horse bond. You don't have to you don't have to come down too much. They're usually pretty good. Her make sure she's doing. All right. Also, Abby Russell I have also punched my horse in the ribs a couple of times I video because I did one. And then it immediately started shifting that. Once fuck is everybody accidentally punching the horse. I never once. I hit the wrong trigger, and it was like whoops go to look at it. I think because I saw Bianca this last night. I think she accidentally did RT or something. Yes. It is. It was like I was still figuring that controls the whole like, oh, I gotta hit a trigger to that hit another button. And I just hit the wrong trigger was like today's like, y'all. As much as the next guy. Don't punch your horse. Face while we're on horses. I saw someone punch their horse straight in the face. To the ribs. And then it just shat everywhere. Punched shit out of the watch the video I also very much enjoying red dead, redemption too. Speaking horses. I did not expect the tumbling and crashing on horses to be so much that horse. I feel so bad crashes are violent they're very funny, but Hobo do I just blame my horse directly industry. It's like loonies tune style where like my arms and legs are like wrapped around it. And then I fall it's like the button and GTE that would just make you rag doll. That's the way to do hit a rock or log, and when the horse crumples to the ground. Winnie's in this bad way. Let's see what I do not find any of that stuff tedious yet either that you mentioned Ambi all the stuff we had talked about previously talked a lot about this last episode..

Different things something doesn't add up As someone that works with a lot of editing equipment I listen to this and I think this this is. Weird this sounds like this was manipulated in a. Certain way before we get to that, let. Me get to Jeff real quick and Ferguson. Hey Jeff what's going on nothing I heard. Some of this tape? And it sounds like It's definitely paying cash it's like you said, no don't, pay in cash or. Something like that I thought. There. Was a sound there. Like and when, you listen to it the audio quality isn't the best because he's probably hiding the recording device but there is. Something that is sad before paying cash there's something there I. When one of the other networks aired I heard pay in I mean paying chat. With checkers I heard the word sex interesting everyone's. Hearing, something, different I and? I. Like you said Adam Schaeffer responded, to this on Twitter And, I, keep wondering what does any of this have. To do with the rush the person collusion, nothing it has to do with, Cohen as a lawyer for whatever reason to me I think Giuliani said, he's going to get disbarred I don't see how you. Can't you're recording your client then you release the tapes even if you had permission, or whatever, that is so shady. That to me that it. Just. Kind of I think. They probably figured, if they don't release says if they're you're you're there If they're if they're not you know. What I'm saying there's like a. Cloud of doubt that, would make it way worse than it being out there so they probably just take it there's nothing on there just let them do it yeah that's kind of what Giuliani was saying altogether, that's the reason, why the Confidentiality unless there's more after. That we don't know you know. What this really proves, Jeff what it proves is. That, there is nothing that the president has been. Accused of doing something illegal Well there's that but he's he's accused from the far left to continuing to say. This he's done all of these things you should be impeached he's a treasonous person or whatever in anything that's come out so far. There is nothing. Net shows any evidence that he's done, anything that's against the law does desperate because they know nothing's gonna probably come out of the investigation Yeah that's the thing they got to keep the pressure on, they've they feel like they just have to keep the. Pressure, on at, this point, and maybe this is one of those moves I really don't. Know what's going on behind the. Scenes there could be. Something crazy going on but by all indications the president when the smaller investigation comes out is going to say there's nothing he's. Done that we're going to press charges on and that's going to be just like Geraldo empty vault It's gonna be Geraldo Samti ball that's a good way to put it I liked that, Jeff good to hear from you thanks for calling in So let. Me play the very end. Of this real quick In this is the part where you can listen carefully but there's one thing that I think is important to point out about the audio editing.
