I'm really, but I will give him this like, they be games and game, six, with Yiannis out against the Hawks. Like he actually gave them like thirteen points and ten minutes or something like that. So he dead When that series and get some rest. So, like, he, he was not the guy anyone want him to be a Boston. He was pretty much not that guy either for the bucks, but he did come through at least in one game or a matter. So, proud to Jeff to say, yeah, you know, yes, exactly. Listen. I think he made a, he's made an All-Star Game in the NBA played twelve years in the NBA played pretty damn well for a lot of those years. If any, if anyone he turned it off, right? He deserves whether or not he earned it for over his thirty four games in Boston. I don't think there's much debate on that but good for Jeff Teague, a dozen years in the league. It kind of gets in there under the big trees and dishes a little dumpster Rob and others down they're dead. To be a backup point guard and it's looking like right now. And you sound excited that's not good for any length including to his like these aren't good signs of a contending team because you know, we don't know if this is going to bridge the gap enough for Cambodia that Gap. You know, what though? I'll save me a reason we expect but here's the thing. You gotta pay. Maybe it takes Jeff Teague got a you guys got so excited about Jeff Teague opening night guys who guys who are drafted where Pritchard is drafted where Robert Williams was drafted. You're lucky if they're still in the league in a few years. Okay, the the bus rate is very high there. So to get a serviceable pro at that point in the draft is a massive Victory and Richard is actually a viable backup point guard in the NBA. That's a that's a home run at that point in the draft. Even if Williams Williams tonight played one of his best all Around games in a bit but if Williams is able to give you 15 to 20 minutes as a backup big and you're not terrified to leave them on the court in certain situations. No Kemba Walker Spells Danger for the Celtics
"Me if the Celtics don't have a healthy Kemba Walker by February 1st during major trouble like making kiss. This is a good by going deep in the playoffs. They got no chance you lose Hayward and then you're going to lose Kemba I get you get Tristan Thompson's great as as a auxiliary. Peace, but I I don't think it gives you a much different than what Daniel theis does. He gives you a toughness it gives you a rebound and gives you an athletic hard work and forward, but but it's not like either one of those guys. You can't neither one of them are scores. No, but they don't need a score of their know if they you know, if they if they don't have Kemba, I don't have Kimber. Yeah, right. I know right? Well, that's that's my big issue is if you don't have Kimber Kemba needs to be he's gotta be your number two guy Tatum's clearly your number one now. I don't think anybody would argue with that. But Kim is gotta be your number too. And if they don't have him you go from Kim, but it's Jeff Teague. And again, we didn't see a healthy Kimball last year. We remember Kimba as man. He just wasn't very good in the postseason you forget Charlotte Kemba and if you have Charlotte came up to me, then this team has a chance to come out of the East without Charlotte Kemba. All right, so I agree with that but I still don't think they're disaster. I think there's still a good team good team. Did Boston Celtics Overplay Their Hand?
"Boston. Overplay its hand. There were a lot of reports in the hours. Leading up gordon hayward signing that the celtics and the pacers were discussing a sign and trade gary washburn over the boston globe. He suggests that the pacers were willing to throw in miles. Turner the celtics water a miles. Turner plus package whether it's miles. Turner and tj warren or miles turner and victoria depot. That that that celtics package seemed to highly unlikely to be something the pacers would go for. Tj warrant is coming off a monster performance in the bubble and victor oladipo for all his injury issues. last year is still an all star level player. You don't give up to players of that caliber to get a player. That play like gordon hayward frankly so the celtics. They didn't walk away with nothing because they do have tristan thompson. Now they do have jeff teague. But i can see jeff how miles turner would goodness celtics uniform. And the guy is a three point shooting mobile shot-blocking big man. He's not perfect. He's been called soft before there's questions about positional fit. But something tells me brad. Stevens could do well with versatile. Big man who can shoot three pointer. I i just. I wonder if we'll look back on this in a year and wonder if the celtics overplayed their hand because miles turner in addition to all the things i said he's got a reasonable contract by nba standards anyway. You've got robert williams who is athletic shop locked they didn't have the physical rebounding tough guy. And that's what tristan thompson is brings championship experience to that team which i think will be a valuable addition and jeff teague is fine. He's not a starter anymore. But you're not asking him to basically kemba walker insurance down there in case kennedy's to take time off that knee injury so it wasn't. It wasn't a failure of an off season for boston. I just. Warriors deal Russell to Wolves, get back Wiggins
"For people that missed it. The warriors and Timber Wolves agreed on trade us in the Ngelo Russell Jacob Evans in Amari spelman to Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins a a top three protected twenty twenty one first round pick and a twenty twenty two second round pick. I like to steal from Minnesota. I think Karl Anthony towns and de Ngelo. They're obviously good friends. And that's big because towns it's been very frustrated recently but again let's get back to what the warriors got back in return. I'm not a big Fan. I'm not a fan of that that contract but I guess when you're the warriors they're already a situation where a lot of their guys are locked up so I understand that for them. It doesn't matter as much for another team they just Trying to add a guy that can help them on both ends of the floor and the contract isn't as big of a deal for them. But I just think with twenty-three-year-old all-star which is what Russell was he. He was an all star last year. I just don't think that's enough to get back in return. I do like that. They got the draft pick again. Talk Re protected. Twenty twenty. One should be a much better draft twenty twenty based on what the experts are all saying so in top. You're protected. I mean this Minnesota team made it could finish between four and ten could end up being lottery picked so I do think that is very valuable. That's my favorite part of the acquisition here for the warriors I just feel like with wiggins. He's been so disappointing. Maybe maybe they feel like they can help him reach us well potential. We know they've done a very good job of developing guys. They have great leader as a strong culture which may really help someone like wiggins. This could be totally wrong around here. I will admit that maybe wiggins goes there and this is exactly what he needed to reach us and become a better player in guys like Steph and clay and dream on push push him. I just feel like how did they wait until the offseason because they couldn't afford to be patient here. There really wasn't a sense of urgency. I would like to see if there were different offers or different teams that kind of came to the table. I just don't think this is the kind of package that you pounce on when you have a great trade ship and again twenty-three-year-old all-star and no roe pressure to make a move now so but I it is newsday what you're saying. Though had Russell and curry not work together you think that Russell's trade value could have diminished. So I see what you're saying. I'm just not a big Fan. I think that's my problem here. Yeah and I think for Minnesota standpoint It's a very interesting gamble. Because of course they want him as a free agent right and it's always nice to be able to sign a young player like that. If you get the right opportunity comes along but they miss out. It's so let's remember that to make this deal happen. They basically had to ship out Jeff Teague for basically nothing it trade Covington to get some assets assets kinda like sweet things up and they have to wind up trading wiggins out. It's actually make this deal happen with golden state so I don't WANNA say Minnesota gutted their assets but they actually you. You know invest in quite a bit to get Russell. Now the upside to doing that is you're gonNA have a very exciting offensive oriented team where you've got your best players are both all three point shooters with Karl Anthony towns and Diangelo Russel and they should fit together. Great in pick and roll it could pop situations right so for a fan base. That's been through a lot here. Typical era the Jimmy Butler you know You know being upset a few years ago in the long losing streak this year. I think there are some genuine hope and optimism with that pairing between those two guys. But I think my concern is that they really have stripped out a lot of their other proven talent around them and I think that both those guys are just minus defenders and that part it makes me nervous right. Because you know if you're trying to picture these guys is like this inside outside duo right well you want at least one of them to be a plus defender. And I don't think that's it's ever GonNa Happen for either one of those guys and so now it creates some roster challenges where you have to go out and target some other perimeter defenders guys who can help cover up for Russell in towns so that you can at at least be you know average on the defensive end. If you WANNA be a winning team so I guess long story short I think they invested an awful lot of assets. Just make this Russell thing happened and I'm not totally extolled. That he's the right guy to pair with towns but big picture. They did the most important thing which is keep Karl Anthony towns happy. He's their franchise guy he's been disgruntled. You you know for for months now because of all this losing and so I think they do get a short term went out of that.
