"Been like getting ready to ride a horse that you've never ridden in the afternoons before? Of course I watched all these races before. I was in the race when you run in Tokyo when you finished fourth. So forth. And then I was in Dubai and I watching, of course, in Dubai. So I know how the horse react during the race. I had a nice feeling within this morning on his back. So I'm pretty sure that I can anticipate a little bit. He's a reaction during the race. And then we'll see the horse looks in good condition. We'll see how we will jump from the gate. How will you break from the gate, which position we can take? And then his ability will do the rest. Cross mccarran was with us yesterday on this program. And the Hall of Famer talked about getting the horse to stand straight in the gate, especially when that last horse is entering the gate. You want your horse standing straight so that you can break well. Having doing this for the first time, a 150, 160,000 people do horses react to that crowd too, will they know? Yes, yes. And can I be challenging for you when you step into the gate with them? Yeah, sure, but you know the whole season, they know they also know what they have to do. So once they enter the gate, they know that they will have to go out from this gate as quick as possible. So even if they are not really standing on their fourth forfeit, they can jump very quickly from the Gates. Of course, it's better to have a very calm horse. We focused on the opening doors. But the first step can be very quick as well. Even if the horse is moving a little bit. Well, Christoph, we're going to let you go. It's getting chilly out here. I know you're trying to warm up over there too. Supposed to be warmer on Saturday though. So that's a good thing. It should be more so I race time. I have to ask you though, Julian le Peru our good friend had sent out a picture on Twitter last night of the French dinner with several French writers altogether at the table down to Jeff ruby's Giroux was there. I think flavian might have been there too. Were you in that picture? Are you in here somewhere? Yes, of course. I'm on the background. I am serving 8. So typical the American chocolate. I was serving the wine. It's gotta be nice though.

"That because even though it doesn't sound like rocket ship time, when you consider that white a barrio when the myelin and 8th in one 50 and change an hour later, one 43 and three sounds pretty good for Kathleen O and she certainly looks like she'll have no problem going the myelin and 8 distance in the Kentucky oaks. A major performance for Kathleen O because one thing about her was she had looked good so far, but she had never been too turned and she did it with just enormous power. It was like a fast race. I think it's going, I think she's going to be among the favorites. You know, she may not be the actual favorite, but she's going to be among the favorites that the Kentucky oaks. And she's going to have a big chance. You know, you're going to have some pace in there it appears with the Philly that won the fantasy being Geary being a speedball and secret and echo Zulu have its speed. So it looks like there's going to be some pace that she's going to set up well. Showed me gay. He said after race and he won the Kentucky oaks and it was way back in the 90s with disputes, but he said afterwards I thought subtly that maybe that long Churchill down stretch will be for her. So I think he was sort of bullish on her chances and you know, I like her chances for the oaks better per se than I like white up areas. You're right. You know, that race in the Florida Derby, part of the issue with that time was they just didn't finish very fast. No, they certainly did it, but Kathleen O did, and she was visually impressive was well, seems like she went from last to first in about a ten second span there and one going away and that was a mile and a 16th, so she gets even more ground to work with and as James mentioned, looks like plenty of speed on tap, but echo Zulu ujiri, even a dare manner is very fast early on. So we'll see how the track at Churchill downs plays it, you know, sometimes on those big days is a speed favoring track, not always, which obviously would not help her. But if it's a fair racetrack, there should be enough pace for her to put in her patented late run. We'll see if it's good enough. She's never faced a field like what she's going to see in the Kentucky oaks, but you can pretty much say that about everyone else who's going to be in that field. They've never faced that type of competition yet in their including echo Zulu who won the breeders cup juvenile Phillies last year. Let's not let's not forget. She only had to beat what was it 5 other Phillies that day in the breeders cup last year. So if you get a full field of 14 going a mile in an 8th, this is going to be the toughest test that any of these Phillies have seen thus far. We're going to take a break. When we come back, phone lines are open. Give us a call. Talk about whatever you'd like 888-966-4776. We're also going to look back at the other big three year old stakes from last weekend. The Arkansas Derby and the Jeff ruby. This is the brisket dot com call in show on HR.

"He was kind of in between those horses, dropped back, but then came with he was 8 in the stretch. Chart call then came back with another run, so not the worst effort. And then uno Ho, I know how to suffer some kind of injury in the race. He really didn't do a lot of running after his big win last time out, but Arkansas Derby in the book in the books rather. What did they handle over there? 24 million. 24 million on 13 race as well. We did 20 on 12 Tampa Bay. I honestly, I wonder if Arkansas, this is a new thing. I'm curious to see what that handle is versus last year because usually they're on that last weekend and they're not alone, but a lot of times they're the big dog that weekend and they kind of weren't that with Gulf Stream going. So yeah, I mean, I am not against tracks trying new stuff. And if it doesn't work, you move it back. Maybe you don't. Who knows? In the fantasy stakes, you Gary with a gutsy win. This was a really fun stretch drive. I forget how to say the name of the runners up. Forget how to do the name of the winner. There was some talk about that. Tweeted out the connection said, you gear evicted that he had talked to the trainer and he said, Eugene, UG, it's named after some anime character, but regardless of how to say it, the gutsy performance, is it big again, but the second I don't know. That's one of those words I feel like I've seen a lot of times and I don't know how to say it. Bubble rock third and the dream lift, the beaten is the favorite little surprise that she went off the favor. I know that there's a lot of regard for the fairgrounds, three year old Philly's group, always, and guess I understand that. I mentioned Folsom who came from last to first to win the Oakland mile. Big 5 wide rally for Florence drew beating Cezanne, who was close up throughout and really was pretty gutsy and defeat battled on for much of the journey and necker island. Finishing fourth in that one and who was the no show was law professor that did not really do much running kind of stayed toward the back and had some trouble in the first turn before. Fading back, but fun day out at Claude park enjoyed watching fair number of those races. Especially the latter ones and turfway park where the Jeff ruby steaks was being conducted in the stakes of course. If you ever get a chance, Jeff ruby's restaurants, they're really good. I know he's a horse racing sponsor, but they're damn good steaks. I used to go to the tropicana and it was across the river in Kentucky, but across the river from downtown Cincinnati. It was kind of a floating restaurant. It actually floated away several years ago. If you just look up Jeff ruby tropicana, like Ohio River, you'll see that it legit floated down the river for ways, but they used to have I remember they had some kind of south beach salad it was called. It was like the best salad ever. And then you get the Jeff ruby steak and dry aged and oats so good. Highly recommend Jeff ruby's. I've told the story before, but my 26th birthday, my first year in river downs. My mom and my sister flew over and we went to the precinct, which was an old police station at Jeffrey ruby's or it's an old police station that Jeff ruby's made into. A steakhouse, and my sister ordered a fillet mignon well done. And the waiter's eye is about rolled out the top of his head. And then as he was disturbingly walking back to the kitchen, my sister flagged him down and said, oh, can I get a side to catch up to? And the guy looked like he wanted to hurl himself out of a window because he disrespected Jeff ruby steak like that. But anyways, let's go over to the Jeff ruby steaks and a big field here to the bomb as you're 8 to 5 favorite. Tawny port bent down to a second choice at 7 O two. You had stolen base at four to one and you had tis the bomb with a winning. I couldn't get good audio for the replay. So it's kind of the same as that Gulf Stream one where it had the two lad of crowd noise, but tis the bomb rallying from off the pace. The weirdest name ever, Doe Jack chief, James Graham. You know, I'm I maintain that I still struggle with kind of gauging how my horses are traveling in synthetic track races. There was a race at Gulfstream early in the day. I think it was the second race. Horse named quality G who debuted at Tampa was third behind money supply who got a big figure. He was the first race on Sam F Davis day. He ends up going off to big favorite the second race at Gulfstream, it was the third race. It was early in the Gulf Stream Saturday card. But he looked like totally loaded in behind horses. And then he kicks out and he wins, but like he just had a grind and barely got there. I struggle with kind of gauge how they're going and I thought this Doja Jack chief was going pretty good. And he was. He just tis the bomb and tawny port came after him and he couldn't quite keep pace with him. But he did stay on pretty well done lane. So maybe I shouldn't be too hard on myself observing that..

"Also going to talk Arkansas Derby with trainer Rudolf preset, who will be with me at 9 40 as he sends out the undefeated we the people. In that race later today, we the people making his stakes debut in their hoping that it will be an impressive one. He certainly has talent, now he has to prove he can do it at a higher level. Rudolf also has yugiri in the fantasy stakes. And great escape and black adder. In the Jeff ruby's takes at turfway, the latter, another transfer from the barnum Bob Baffert. In Florida simplification, while he figures to take a big piece of the action down there. He's going to be among the favorites, the fountain of youth winter is fine to two on the morning line. That is a very deep and highly contentious renewal. Of the Florida Derby. He and the other contenders are going to be relieved to know that there will not be apocalypse sighting in that race today. So things do have a chance to play out cleanly. Classic causeway white of barrio and the up and coming charge it from the barn of 6 time Florida Derby winter Todd pletcher all figure to give simplification a run for his money later today. That is, that's not a give me for simplification. Like I say, that's a deep that's a contentious and a talented group of three year olds in that Florida Derby. Tammy Bobo is the owner of simplification, and you're going to hear her thoughts when she joins me coming up at 9 eastern this morning. And how about this a heartfelt congratulations to my good friend safi Joseph junior? His father, whom they call big saf. And their entire team on their first championship meet training title. That's a big deal. Go Barbados. Well done, saf. This is also an unsung heroes week, and today I'm going to recognize trainer. Hugh Robertson, who is now in his get this 51st year of training racehorses. Hugh join me for a full hour. On my trainer talk show, presented by phasic tipton..

"40 points with basically assures that the first two finishers, if their Triple Crown nominated will have enough points to run in The Kentucky Derby, if that's where they decide to go. This is an all weather surface race though, so we don't necessarily know that the horses who do well in the Jeff ruby will want to go to the conventional dirt at Churchill downs for Saturday and may good full field though of three year olds set to go the mile and an 8th and should have a solid favorite in number 7 tis the bomb. Yeah, it is the bomb one his prep race for the Jeff ruby steaks in the battaglia memorial, one by neck, you know, he's the most accomplished horse in the field. Let's face the facts he won the grade two bourbon at Keenan. That was on the grass. He ran second in the breeders cup juvenile turf race that was highly controversial and you might say. But take nothing away from the horse. He's a good horse. He runs hard and he looks like the horse to beat. I thought if anybody could beat him, it was the horse on the rail royal spirit. Todd pletcher again. This horse is in good form. He has never missed the board in 5 lifetime starts. He ran second last time in the kitten's joy, which is a turf race, at Gulfstream park. Chris landeros has the mount here in landeros is a another guy who doesn't ride for pleasure. So Todd's a pulling these guys out of the hat, I guess. And royal spirit drew the rail, which I think is a good place to be. At turfway going a mile in an 8th. So I thought he was an interesting horse who looked like he had some good form and maybe is getting better. We don't know about the synthetic, but he runs well on the grass so he should handle to be. Todd's got like 17 really good three year olds and 15 of them are running this weekend. There you go. So he's in a good position. So I agree that number 7 tis the bomb as the logical one to beat. He ran well, look, he only won by a neck in the battaglia memorial, but he was very wide on the turn, really took the worst of it, still was able to get the win. I like that effort. I thought if tis the bomb didn't win the horse that I would want to use as number 5 tawny port, who is undefeated on the synthetic surface at turfway. He tried conventional dirt in the grade two risen star against what I think most people would think is much tougher competition. And he ran okay. He didn't have the greatest of trips he was 5th. He was beaten 8 lengths by epicenter smile happy in zanden. Any one of those three were in this race. They'd be two to 5. So he doesn't have to face them, gets back to what may be his preferred surface and if it's not tis the bomb, I think it's tawny port. He's 6 to one on the morning line. And I'm going to use both of them if I play horizontally going into that Jeff ruby steaks race 12 on a huge card tomorrow at turfway park. Let's go out west Jude to San Anita, great race place, has one steak race tomorrow. It's the $100,000 Singletary. These are three year olds going to go a mile on a turf field of 5. I'm going to say this. I think even now, Singletary could beat these horses. No question about it. Although there's a couple of good horses in here. There are a couple horses. They're not that level yet they're lightly raced their going in the right direction, and certainly one of them is the morning line favorite number 5 Sumter. Yeah, Sumter's been on my horses to watch lists for quite a long time. I've been impressed with this horse. He's a son of war front. I think he's, he's pretty nice. He's been great on the turf two seconds and two wins in four starts on the grass. Richard Mandela. He's like hotter than.

"He had the call. You remember hockey great Mark messier guaranteed that playoff win for the New York rangers back in the early 90s midnight. I guess it was 1994. It was a prediction that eventually came true after he scored that hat trick to ice the victory over the New Jersey Devils, messier is among the favorites for The Kentucky Derby because of the fact that he can now earn points for The Kentucky Derby, having transferred from the barn of Bob Baffert. He is also the winter book favorite for the queen's plate. Canada's version of The Kentucky Derby for Canadian bread runners, he is in Ontario bread. The queen's played on August 21st this year, up at woodbine. So messier highly regarded on a lot of different levels here. And yesterday, Bobby Newman, Dave Friedman, who are the hosts of our race day program every Thursday and Friday afternoon. They welcomed Tom Ryan of SF racing to the program. He is part owner of messier and so many other top horses that were stable with Bob Baffert and have now been transferred, and Bobby and Dave took time to talk with him yesterday on race day. Here's that conversation. Bobby Newman, Dave Freeman, pleased to be joined now by one of the owners of messier, Tom Ryan, who's SF racing is one of the conglomerate that owns messier in several other very talented three year olds Tom, thanks for taking the time. Hey guys, thanks for having me on. I appreciate it. We appreciate it too. So before we get into what exactly has gone on and is going on with these horses, I got to ask you, this ownership group that has messier and Pinehurst and doppelganger and some of these other very talented three year olds is really a who's who of owners who have had great success in the game in the past on their own. How do you get all of these people together? SF racing and mata Kat and star light and Sienna farm and golconda and several others to go partners on these runners. Look, we're very proud of what we've accomplished over the last number of years. With various owners and various partnership groups, the notion of syndicating at this high level really was born out of a partnership group that we managed to also in Australia with Henry field of new gates that and syndication is far more prevalent in Australia and better understood and we brought the idea of expanding our own ownership group in America and we became friends with Jack was to our association with justify and so human has been a longtime trend in partner as well. It just evolved over time and it's a matter of like minded people are interested in Saturday afternoon results. Well, speaking of Saturday afternoon results that you're hopefully on the road to having more big Saturday afternoon results, let's talk about what's been going on for the last several months. You've been in a very strange position, Tom, and that not only have you and the other owners had some very talented three year olds. Well, two year olds last year who are now three year olds, but you've known for a while that there was at least a chance that some or all of these horses were going to have to find a new barn at least temporarily with what's gone on with Bob Baffert. Has there been extra pressure on you guys to maybe start thinking about moving these horses and what are the last four or 5 months been like? No, look, this is a very unique situation that we're in for sure. We are first and foremost, we're supporters above and that's quite clear and evident to everybody. You know, we've been following the case along as it's kind of different dates in. Court and what have you. It's pretty resources to compete in The Kentucky Derby. We're clearly now in a situation where they need to earn points and bob has been very vocal that if we had horses that had the talent, had the ability to possibly compete to possibly be good enough to qualify in airplanes, we needed to make this, you know, we needed to consider our options. And after speaking with the various owners and the owners, the ownership base the decision was made that we would do this. And Tom, how did you decide once you made the decision to switch trainers? How did you decide what trainers to go with? Look, we have a long-standing relationship with Rudolph recess. He's won a wonderful horseman into a good person. And Rudolf, we had always kind of in the back of our minds targeted to Jeff ruby with blackout, and we felt like, you know, with Rudolph was the right man and to give him the best chance on the day. You know, I've seen a picture this morning and Rudolph called me that the horses that he flew in there last night. He settled in it's all quite seamless and. It's all about good horsemen in my mind. Everything is about good horsemen. It's all about good people. You have to surround yourself with good horses and good people. It's the only chance you have of having a having a good result. And Rudolph was a very obvious choice for us for that was concerned. And with the other three calls that we have transferred, it's interesting. I've just noticed Tim yaks horses over the years. His horse is looking, he really, he's a good horseman. He's a good person. The campaign that you put together for mutual mutual unusual was wonderful. You know, it turned out Mary into a grade one winner. You know, the guy has to be commended for that from a small barn. And Tim, I think, really fit. I know Tim, I understand him. I have a good strong relationship with him. And therefore, felt that he was the right guy. You know, we're sending in what we consider some of our best three year olds with messier McLaren and doppelganger. We want them to fit into a biomarker going to be one important and two the center of attention. And is there a plan for those horses in the long term? Will they remain in those other barns or do you anticipate when the suspension is lifted? They go back to Bob Baffert. I think that's a question for another day. You know, we're following this situation along and as everyone can see there's just a lot of moving parts here. I think that's something that will be discussed as time passes. Speaking with Tom Ryan from SF racing, who was part of a big partnership group that has some very talented three year olds that have been in the news lately, mainly because they're moving from Bob Baffert's barn to either Tim yak teens, barna Rudy Brissette barn, mentioned messier, doppelganger, McLaren Vale and blackadder, blackadder, winning the el Camino real Derby, already likes the synthetic going to the Jeff ruby steaks. He's got an automatic bid to the Preakness. If that's where you want to go, sounds like messier's headed to the sand Anita Derby. What are we looking for for doppelganger and McLaren veil next up? Yeah, definitely messier.

"Available to you. Right back here on the Jason beam horse racing podcast it is brought to you by twin spires. It is a show that we do four days a week. Monday Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, old Jace is gonna do nothing. Sit on my Duff. I'm actually very excited. I'm going to the penguins game against the thunder or no, the thunder, the light. That close enough lightning. On Thursday night. So tonight, if you're listing out there and first time C Citi Crosby, very excited about that. Why don't we start our second half of our little weekend preview here? Turfway, the job a taglia, which in years past, Mike pateley used to come and call, but I don't think he called it last year, and I don't know if that was because he was just kind of over calling it. You know, because it's hard, first of all, calling race is not easy to do period, but it's also hard to come off the bench. And it's really hard to come off the bench when it's 12 horse field. It seems like every year in this race, and then multiply that by the fact that the temporary stuff they got now is it's actually pretty good, but it's very low and it's like right over the track. So it's just, it's a tough place to call. Jimmy mcnerney is earned his paycheck at the last couple of winners there. But tis the bomb, I mentioned kind of the name coming out of this race. I mean, there are some, there's some certainly talented horses here, bloodline for Brad Cox right to the bombs outside. Ran very well in the Texas turf mile first time over the grass. They'd been trying to get the source on the grass, but hadn't been able to do it, but it makes sense to, I kind of like having these poly preps, just because they do, I think, give an opportunity for horses who might be turf specialists, to maybe get a shot that Durbin now should. You know, should those horses be given priority in the Derby over horses maybe with more proven dirt form well? Yeah, based on the way the point system shakes out. And you know, I think animal kingdom winning from the lanes end or the Jim beam or what a spiral or whatever the hell it was called that ear changes the race changes every I know it wasn't the Jeff ruby steaks at that point. But, you know, I think that kind of validated that idea that horses can make that switch from synthetic and too dirt and be successful. Sometimes forget animal kingdom won the Dubai World Cup, like later. And I was actually like a pretty good turf horse. As well. Like what a cool horse in general. William mowry has legendary Lauren here who's been kind of competing at the optional 50. I mentioned that just because Maurice had a monster meet and kind of a funny statistical meet. He's 13 for 42. This actually makes a little bit of sense though, like sometimes guys that are really high percentage. You know, he's not he's 23% this year or last year plus. But he's got 13 wins from 42 starts, zero seconds. And then ten thirds, so it's not, I get the idea of like guys that went a lot, like they might be winning or nothing at all. Like I get that. But the fact that you get ten thirds in addition to that is just so weird that none of them have either got caught on the wire and finished second or trickled up into second from third, like they just, they have it. And so kind of a peculiar little stat there. Mark Cassie not having a great turf boy 5 for 45, it's fine. 11%. I feel like we, you know, there's some barns who I guess were so used to their names. And Mike maker kind of another example, right? So 21 and 22, he's 16%, which is very solid, but I think we think of him as this incredible high percentage trainer and the numbers just kind of don't bear out. And some of these smaller meats like turf in the years past he's done very well. He's doing fine. He's 15% this meat. But by no means, you know, I guess what sometime his name carries so much weight, I feel like sometimes it doesn't. Actually bear out when it comes to the percentages. Now one gentleman whose name does seem to bear out with high percentages is mister Robert a baffert over at San Anita of course, the I don't even know if a's middle name. That was the first letter that came to mind. I should look that up. I'm going to look that up. Bob Baffert, what is it? Robert a baffert. I was right. How about that? 26 to one shot. I called decked it. Anyways, we'll go over to San Diego where, like I said, a slew of stakes races and a monster card. And I'm glad they do. I love racing at San Anita. I know I've been hard on it this year because, you know, a lot of the cards, frankly, have been awful, but I root for California racing. I have a lot of friends in California racing. I have a lot of memories in California racing. I want California racing to do well. I know a lot of people are management in California. So I want them to do well and guide the place to it. A card like this, it's going to do well. It's a good program. Now the San Felipe is the points race on the program and you have what is very typical, I feel like Southern California, stakes race, let alone Derby prep. Like you could almost I could almost list the trainers that are going to be in races like this without even knowing who the hell the horses are. There's two dug o'neills, there is two bob efforts, a Simon Callahan, a Mandela, and eh, why not a George pop up a dromo in there? Cabo spirit was beaten with second last time out. He was beat 15, but he was second. He deserves to be in here. But it's just so funny how often these feature races in California have an O'Neill of effort or multiples and then a Callahan and a mandel. It's just like those four or 5 names and Sadler. Like almost.

Merry Christmas, everybody. Timmy, you gotta carry the ball, brother. He just threw it back in your court. That's all right. I can do that. You know, my winner goes to a bunch of organizations with the tornadoes that hit western Kentucky and I hope you guys are all safe down there. It came out of it, okay. Yeah. But there was a whole bunch of people in racing that have been stepped up to the plate and made contributions to the people that affected there. And this is just I probably leave it somehow, but stone street farm and Jeff ruby, Churchill downs kalen, Kool bar, jockey club, mattress Mack. The Kentucky thoroughbred association, all of them was stepped up. They gave 20,000 tons. Okay. I'm glad that you I told you. At least somebody out there. Yeah. KT OB. What they've done and to help some of the people that really need it is just, you know, it's just deserves a big round of applause and as far as the follow of the week, there's a couple of them that I have in my head. But it's Christmas. Merry Christmas to everybody. Timmy, you gotta carry the ball, brother. He just threw it back in your court. That's all right. I can do that. You know, my winner goes to a bunch of organizations with the tornadoes and hit western Kentucky. And I hope you guys are all safe down there. It came out of it, okay? Yeah, but there was a whole bunch of people in racing that have been stepped up to the plate and made contributions to the people that affected there. And this is just an I probably believe in some out but stone street farm and Jeff ruby, Churchill downs kaelin, pool bar, jockey club, mattress Mack. The Kentucky thoroughbred association, all of them was stepped up. The Kentucky HPA don't leave them out. They gave 20,000 tons. Okay. I'm glad that you told me at least somebody else. Yeah. KT 8 KT OB. What they've done and to help some of the people that really need it is just, you know, it's just deserves a big round of applause and as far as the follow of the week, there's a couple of them that I have in my head. But it's Christmas. And I'm not gonna rip anyone on Christmas because seen as we have Christmas week coming up and you know I'm just gonna let everybody lie in their eggnog and enjoy the holiday and I'm not gonna rip anybody this week. But I will come back next time we can be..

"His beginning of this. Nba season are there really that many great teams in this league. It's way too early to tell right. 'cause i mean the lakers and been good at. That hasn't been good yet. You just don't know or years away for clayton. Curry's been amazing. Playtime you don't you think like the knicks can kind of hang with everybody sure but we all know how it plays out cedar. They you get to the playoffs. Who do they have to face. And what are those teams look like in the basketball film. The has no no no. I don't have a favorite basketball team. So i don't pay attention to what's going on all right but i mean we don't have the regular season in the that's part of it. It's hard to get into the regular season. It's meaningless to a certain extent right now because you're not showing a pulse. That's why tom important to us. That's right everything matters right. There's been a fight in that place in the last week. Definitely this is the. I don't agree. They play this everywhere. i feel. Alright yeah this if this song is playing in a bar it's a fight like i can almost hear beer bottles shattering as the song place. I'm just saying it's a bar. That's probably fun your dancing but you just gotta keep your head on a swift at this place. I guess that's where i hear it all kinda bar. That's right you. Those arguments entertained where i was in a band that played this song. And we played up and down Dixie highway dixie highway. There's a fight. I think you're right. I'm glad the free money podcast back and my wife and i took up your streaming game for movies. I'll tell you about the game in a minute okay. We started the free money. Pi cash-back last night. I think it's a good episode. Great episode talked about a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with football are picks were terrible. I'm sure we talked about dj. Jake doobie doobie. Yeah you call him. Ubi i i called him. Dj jeff ruby. Several times to the point. I thought jeff ruby ditch the restaurant business. Do you know who this is. You're talking like you know who it is. I had a dubey who's a quarterback south carolina. Now this is jake lougee. He name is really lubi. No it's dooby and he. He was a dr at sayer. So here's the thing i was talking about. I don't know how i got off. Don't talk about electric dance music. And i was talking about how lexington has an electric dance music. Dj that's like blowing up. He played lollapalooza. And i said his name is dj. Jeff ruby. Because i thought that was his name. And it's and then i said no and then said dj jack ruby which is of course the guy that killed lee harvey oswald. Yes and then we. It was dj date. Jake lubi doobie doobie. It is jake. Dooby jake doobie doobie. And but he plays downtown and i the kids. They all like jake. Dooby gotcha so that we talked about that. Which i know is gonna make people in the show list for the free money pockets. A lot of fun me drew in j. linden so i hope you will check it out the game. I talked about shannon. Do you ever have the problem you get on a streaming service and there's so many choices you don't know what to get all the time. I spend more time looking for something to watch actually watching this. Sounds like a promo so. Let me tell you about so i do this thing. I realized the other night. I have i have actually eleven streaming. Oh my goodness nine of which have movies. So you know what i do and this works because you end up getting to see things you wouldn't think go to your go-to your google machine right. Google machine put random number generator. Okay and you can put the numbers you want to choose from so go there right now so you can so what i do. Is that take the amount of streaming services with movies which is nine. I hit the random number generator. And it'll say four and i've given each streaming service a number so now. I know i'm getting movie from hulu right then. I do the letters of the alphabet. There's twenty six of them one to twenty six random number generator. Whatever number goes. I a movie that starts with that letter. A half to pick a movie from that service that starts with that that letter and it works for you. We have because. I mean every every letter has a movie. If you get like q. I ended up doing ones that start with a number. How excited you get when you draw the letter x. chair watching x. Men i haven't got. Yeah yeah but it works because it narrows your choices to like ten and from those ten you pick one. Yeah and you watch movies. You wouldn't have otherwise watch like the other night. I watched do the right thing. I saw that twenty five years ago. I would never watch it again but then i did and i was like man. That's a really good. Have you watched some that. You thought were horrible. Now you can watch the movie called faces like an old movie. I wanted i was i turned it off after twenty minutes Well i watched other but there was one of them that the only choice was a movie called escort more good or because it was e- and it was wasn't good either. Well i mean you get a lot of choices so you pick one that you think you'd lie you don't seem to like this like well ryan having accounts to play this game. He's got to get everyone else's log in to start this and this is a way to narrow the focus. Yeah because i get overwhelmed that there's too many choices i need. I swear oscar three hours before. I've got in bed at ten and try to use it try net flicks now. There's a thing you can hit the watch something and it'll just do that. It ends up giving me like a you know terrible move. I don't know yeah. it's like atypical. Which is a show. I've never watched and baking show. Yeah i don't wanna watch those shows. So i mean you know who's next. Let's go to scott. Scott what's up scott. What's going off else. what's going on. Well deputy davis is He's just typical louisville guy. Man i just. I don't think the real bright so holland people by names and getting. That's just in their vocabulary. Because that's what the got. i understand. Somebody asked here ryan. Is there anybody in. uk media that is like you share four uk. Oh i don't really think so not like that. Not like that i would. There have been times that that i've gotten angry. Cal tucker's gotten angry just enrolling got angry. But we've all of gotten older so i really.

"Fifty thousand seven furlongs winning. You're in for the breeders cup billion mayor sprint. that's the same distance Got a feel of eight and here here willing more accomplished in the horses in the smile. Laura's light is on the to race when she she's one on turf and dirt sees a grade one winner by waiver apple blossom vis victory over ali's candy last year then local on pacific gail won a couple of graded stakes down at gulfstream park. This winter Sto talent also won the better roses for one hour. You gotta last time out in the slop at belmont park during the belmont stakes racing festival. Pretty tough bunch of phillies in mass. To go to seven furlongs bobby. It is and i'm gonna try a little bit of a screwball in this spot in number three this is my time for kathleen o'connell and amancio hotter meal This is my time has not run since late january in the grade to inside information where she ran second pacific gale in the first of two big efforts for pacific allen wrote you can see pacific was actually sixteen to one that day this is. My time was two to one. In that race. She ran a good race. She was just second best that day. Kathleen o'connell does just fine at these layoff runners and this is my time has been in the money. Six of seven tries at gulfstream park in and and all three times at the seven furlong distance has been first or second. I have a feeling she's gonna show speed off the layoff and when she gets in front she doesn't get beat. I don't see anyone in here. That is head and shoulders faster than this. This is my time early on. So i'm going to try. This is my time who six to one on the morning line As a little bit of a pace upset or in the princess rooney zeal harm. You know one thing. He will not be shy on the front end I would imagine she's on the front. I'm counting on that. I like laura's light. Laura's light has run just once on the dirt it was in the off the turf. Ouija board down at lonestar memorial day and you could very well say well she ran on turf on the derp because she shipped he'd be right. I'm sure the plan wasn't a runner. But she's got some dirt pedigree. She ran well on the slop. She's got tactical speed. She's breezed better on dirt in her last two. And you know when horses a breezing and working out for turf races. They're trying a little differently. She's been trained a little more aggressively. It appears anyway at stanley ray. For this i think she's responded nicely. She's got enough speed. You got you got this hollow walla outside of her and the phil you mentioned This is my time. I would think they go put on a little pace. I would imagine she sitting right behind them with florida. Ru i'm gonna try laura's light seventy two in the morning line. They should might be the most talented horse in the race A woman also who. I just don't want off the wet track and still does races on wet tracks overall better than a dry track races. You know she was a little dressed up to starts back behind camin with that fig. What i think is really spend on a wet track of rains. I would take still coming postal. But i'm gonna try laura's light race number eleven tomorrow at gulfstream goes as the great to princess rooney invitational. Npr l. from gulfstream. Dragging out. they're going to join us tomorrow morning on the form presented by by to talk about both of those stakes races at delaware. The kent goes race number seven on the saturday card grade. Three hundred fifty thousand online mile in eighth that shoot starts right on the far turn comes straight down from the far. Turn across the infield Field of nine entered but the eight vickrey entered main track only as is the number three shackled. Love so seven will go on the turf or entered along the turf anyway Like the king is your eight to five morning line favorite. The jeff ruby stakes winner broke his maiden on. The turf did not run very well. On the autobahn at churchill as time leslie ward brings them in no rider or name. Somebody will write him. He's he's your eight to five morning. Line chalk this is a terrible morning line a terrible morning line. I like the king can win this race. But how off the to turf efforts. He's had he can be eight to five especially when we don't even know who's going to ride this horse. That seems like there's no way you'd wanna eight to five on him. I'm gonna try gershwin. Who's eight to one and he's not gonna be eight to one. They have tried to get this horse on the turf three times already in his five race career in all three of them have been rained over to wet main tracks. He's run well in those instances but he's distorted humor out of an ap. Andy maher certainly can see why they're trying to get this horse on the turf. I believe that mike stood him and godolphin know what they're doing if they continue to try to get this source on the turf. It's probably because they think that even though he's shown that he's good on the dirt he may be better on the turf and if he's better on turf than he is on dirt. He's going to have a big shot in the kent and eight to one as a ridiculous morning line. Yeah i don't as ruth without morning. Line the horse that used to be trained by maximum. Yes time and he's done nothing wrong. I know they've all been at gulfstream. He has one win. For the maiden thirtieth fairgrounds book it is racist gulfstream on the turf been good king of dreams. Came back to win out at canterbury. The mystic lake derby in his next start forces one four zero. He ran without lisa class on. He gets his lasix back he could be on the lead. He can be off the pace. I only made a lot of. I don't get the favorite i know. It's wesley ward. I mean this sources to turf races just plain slow and i would much rather use the horse. You mentioned the number one gershwin. The other words a little interesting wooten asset. We'll sit at. Nasa came over here as a two year old last year. He ran really well in the laurel. Futurity pimco he came back four weeks later in the awadh he got you just. He was buried inside and he didn't really make any moves and they went out to california and he's first timely six for grand motion. Everything rams and send it over to delaware's run awhile damage. Great numbers off to lay off And first time six. so it's It's mostly twos. yes this time. In eight and seven wooten asset for me race number. Seven goes as the greed. Three can't delaware oaks race number eight grade three mile and a sixteenth four. The three year old fillies. Feel the nine intern. Here crazy. beautiful six to five on the morning. Line mike for ken mcpeek. First time. Lasix for this daughter of liam's map. I really was trying to peck against this philly because i am not a fan of crazy beautiful. It is consistent. She is and i would love to owner obviously. She's made over a half a million dollars in her career. I just think she's a good philly. Not a great philly. The problem is.

"Remind me it was 94 95. He kind of broke down a little bit. And really, you know, I'm not, you know, Tommy John surgery, of course existed then. But it was thought that he was done. So he went out of baseball. But then he wanted to come back. And like 97 98 99. He came back and pits quite well. And you can imagine the most popular ballplayer of that team might have. You know Barry Larkin was bigger than Montana. But Jose Rio is the M V P of the last time the Reds won the World Series. So when Jose Real came back, it was the second coming of the Lord. It was loved and respected. There was hope he could keep going. Of course, it was unknown in 1999. What was going to happen with that playoff without lighter on the mound, But those were the glory days 31 32 years ago. The last time the Reds wanted series was a quarter of a century ago. And Jose Rio lights and corners of my mind like no one else is a fabulous, fabulous human being. Where's he at now? Do you know? Do you start union contract? Damn, I did. The last time I saw him. I'll tell you what the last time I saw him. He gets a hold of me about 67 months ago and said, Really, I'm in town. I want to see I said great. Let's go. So we go out to Tony's Steakhouse, which is a wonderful facilitate player, Township. Meet them out there, So I'm there And, you know, Judge Mike Barrett is there the federal judge in a couple of his other buddies, and there's Jose and And myself and and we're sitting there having a little little dinner and I'm watching. I'm eating a little bit and up comes Jeff Ruby's son, who runs one of his facilities, and it's a great facility. And so about 20. Minutes later, the manager of Tony's comes up and says, You guys have to leave and I look at his manager, and there's such federal judge, senior federal judge My parents. Myself, Jose Rio, a couple other guys, I'm looking at him saying Are you kidding me? We have to leave. And there in the middle of their states. I'm going to have to like what happened. Well. Somehow somebody reported that Jeff Ruby's son was seen at a table at Tony's. And unbeknownst to Tony, it was Jose Rio, Mike Barrett and me. Judge, my parent and me, and so we were kicked out of Tony's because Jeff Ruby's son at sat down and had a drink with us. Wow. That was the last time I Oh, my God. I thought you kidding me. Jose Real Mike Burner Me kicked out of a restaurant because Jeff Ruby's son sat there. Said. You've got to be kidding me. And so we love me and Mike said What about the check? We'll take care of it. It was $1100 because those guys hammered it before I got there. Wow, that's the last time you brought it up. That's the last time I saw Jose blame it on Rio. Is he back down on the D R. What's his deal? In fact, there now is a cigar bar, says he owns a strip club. He's a major major player and the D. R is worth a lot of money does great work down there gives away a lot of stuff. Just a wonderful guy. So in other words, it's a good thing to be Jose blanket all Rio and it looks the same. He acts the same plenty of than can be, and is simply. He said. You're a great American. I'm a great Dominicans. Love it. That's great. Well, a always a pleasure. God bless America. And be careful he would sit with. Thank you. Apparently, yeah, that's still don't quite understand exactly who what caused the removal of a restaurant there, But that's kind of what I'm waiting for. The The end of that story, and I don't think we really got a satisfying ending to that. To be honest with.

"You can travel now You're eating up some of those travel days because of this delay in the getting you two were from your intended destination. So we've got a few more hurdles that we're gonna have to cover. A Zafar is over the next several weeks. Maybe a couple of months. I don't know. I'm very anxious, because I remember when the mass thing hit last year, it was not required. It was recommended that you wear the mask. And then all of a sudden, these pictures went viral of crowded airplanes with the captions. Airlines don't care airlines. They're trying to kill us, blah, blah, blah. Whatever it was, and I mean, it's quick as they could. Airline snapped back to this militant position of saying You don't want to wear a mask. Fine fly someone else. I mean, literally. That's what they were telling us. So that's why I think there's gonna be a reluctance to have those Maskell way restaurants. I think they're welcome People in. We're in Georgia right now and outside of Savannah and guys, we've been walking into places with mask on saying No one wearing a mask. And of course we take hours off. We're getting more pointed in that direction, but the airlines are so politically. Leaning these days. It's nauseated, and I think they're going to be very, very reluctant, but work to lower that mask requirement, you know, certainly be interesting. J. We appreciate your time. Thank you so much. Yeah, absolutely So twee Jason, that is going to be Million dollar question here in Ohio June 2nd. No more restrictions. But what business is what restaurants? What? Whatever decide. Hey, we want to keep the Mass. Hey, we want to keep up all the Plexiglas and all that sort of stuff. Cause me some people are like, he said, are still going to demand. Some people cling to these masses. If they were a pacifier like they need him. They can't not have them that they've become so conditioned to him. You wonder what business You know what? Well, my client, look, Listen your clientele, but it will be interesting to see how that goes. I'm inclined to think more of your corporate stores and corporate e restaurants or problem, maybe gonna lean more toward keeping the mask. Your local small businesses, Mom and pop shop places. You know your local restaurant, Holy grail. Jeff Ruby's understood it out there. I don't know, but I would think they would maybe be more less inclined, more inclined to kind of do away with Mass requirements. Right so this would take a break for traffic here. And then after that, Jason, you and I will get into the ins and outs of the restrictions being lifted. The $51 Million prize is we got to talk about that. You got some thoughts on that, and I know some of you guys do to will take your calls. And then they would get into some Bangles schedule little bit, too, for a toss up. But Rob, how's the traffic? I think it's safe to say there's four those million dollar prizes. So it's gonna be mine once already. Got your name on, uh, paying. You have your own money, Rob. I got my yacht picked out. Let's just say that I get an invite her. Of course, if you bring the white claw No, no laws. That's right. You know, Like a lot of God, Yes. You have the ladies there? That's right. You know on she didn't want her to think she lost her daughter, too. And waited to mine. There was no cell phones got on a pay phone from the oasis. There was the little bar right down the bottom of their help. That's where everybody went to call well, and afterwards you guys made it to Johnny Bench is Pete Rose's place in Western Hills, right. Being a mentor to him. I didn't know until I really read the book, he said in the book It's his mother had was. You know I have four kids. His father was an alcoholic that left and so I became, like, you know, a mentor to him, and I got him a job, and he ran the valet parking For us at the Holiday Inn. We gave the responsibility of running the whole thing, and we offered him a bus for job. A lifeguard job should not, but the most money would be the valet. "He started choking. He gets up. I get behind him. I'm not a too big of a guy was hard for me to get around him. I'm doing the Heimlich called him right there in the Chow Hall and He put a French French fries come flying out, and, uh, I saved them right there. We just sat down. We had dinner again and a little later on. He told me come over here, and he gave me a pair of flip flops. Surprised because it gets in prison. Right? Well, yes, It's like getting your dying. They were my friends at that point to which didn't hurt either. Well, I was going to say that's the gift for you in prison. If you're friends with a hell's angel at a Mongol I don't think it was gonna screw. It was the best decision. You've made your life. Well, it was great. It was great. I got up. I got a million of those funny looking guys got to write a book man. No kidding, seriously. I can't even imagine what sitting there with the hell's Angel guy and among big got some stories. Was good. I thought I was going to say the guy beat him up for a given my hug. Hey, Greg, in Florence. How about you? What's your story, buddy? Uh, it's somewhere to the guy that called in about. I think he was probably have a Jeff Ruby's restaurant on Lee. I wasn't white castles. And it was it was during Christmas time wife and I've been out shopping and it was late. We missed dinner. We're driving my white castles. And I said, Hey, let's whip in here and get a couple burgers. She said. Okay, so we go in. And I'm my wife and I have probably ate inside it. White cancels twice twice and I'm 63 years old, but we're sitting here having a couple of martyrs. And there's a there's ah couple who are probably in their sixties. With a woman who's probably in her eighties back. It only assume was one of there was one of those mother, you know, and she's going down. On these white castles like she'd never eaten hamburger before in her life. I haven't made a comment on my life is that look at that. Look at that woman. She's taking down those cheeseburgers and three bites. And about this. I got that out of my mouth. She started choking. And she's choking and people in the restaurant and looking around the employees. They're looking around. And, uh and I'd had some, uh, emergency medical treat training. I was with the Parks Department for a couple years. So I looked at my life. I said, Okay, Well, here I go. So I walked over there, and I asked her to stand up and she's blue in the face by this time, and she's 80. So you know, if if you're doing the Heimlich on an older person you've got to do it kind of easy for you. Break the ribs. So I do it easy a couple times and she still choking and she's turning blow husband tell myself OK, I gotta go for it and I popped her and she shot that piece of cheese burger out. Like a bullet and She did that He sat down and immediately started eating another burger. She had never said a word to me. The couple with are never said a word to me, and I just said Well, okay, really like, thanks. Yeah. No, they didn't say thanks. Nothing. They didn't. They didn't. I don't even know if they looked at me. I mean, but I think this is a first. I think this was the first time this this older lady had ever eaten. Ah, hamburger and a burger place before because I mean, she was scarfing them down, but no, they never looked at Mason thinks nothing. On. I just, you know, said okay, and I haven't I say they terrible. Thanks, Greg. Can you imagine that heartless soul again? Thank you for saving grandmother. It's bad news out of that story.
