"I mean, he is a giant human being. And playing against men, he plays with a bit of bite. He's got some edge in his game. There is a lot to like about stuff. The tough spot for Montreal. Montreal's got three picks in the first 33. Yeah. This year. So not with the first pick, but maybe they can dance around with the next two picks a little bit. You know, like there's gonna be, I think this first round will have a lot of movement in it amongst the picks with there seems to be a lot of churn with who likes which pick and which place. So I heard a rumor the other day about Montreal. I know what Montreal is trying to trade up. Yeah, I mean, aside from first pick overall. They've got 14 picks. You can't sign 14 players. We've done this dance with auto on the past. But I heard a rumor from another team suggesting that Montreal is going to try and somehow land that second pick from New Jersey. So they've got the top two picks. I'll believe it when I see it. Who are you giving up? What are you giving? You're giving up to acquire Jersey doesn't need a pick. Jersey needs a player. Yeah. And they need a player and a pick. So if I'm Jersey, I'm looking at the 26 pick and a player. And a good player. Yeah, we're not. Don't have Montreal fans say, oh, let's trade them poll Byron. We don't normally speculate like this. I mean, that's the type of it's got to be, it's got to be a difference maker. And the reason Josh Anderson intrigued me, right when you said it is, again, he's big, and he can skate, and he understood. He's on the contract. So that helps fitzy and the Devils, right? They're not messing around with Jeff petry. Well, maybe that's part of a package, right? I mean, if you're, again, you're elevating to second pick overall to go along. It's a big package. It's a big package it has to be. Love this stuff. All right, whoever you're in it. John tortorella to the Philadelphia flyers as head coach. They confirmed on Friday, four year deal, I believe 4 million, whatever, doesn't really matter to us. First of all, your thoughts on tortorella as the next go to the flyers. He's got a lot of work. He's got a lot of work. That team is not, they're not, I don't know what they are, I guess. This is what I mean. Now I know they had some injuries that really buckled them this year. So I'm watching them with Kevin Hayes was limping around on one leg.

"I don't think that there was an offer that was tabled. But I'm okay with that too, right? I mean, it's so different than Edmonton landing. If you feel like he's going to help you, the gamble is short term. So that doesn't surprise me that Washington would. No, no, of course not. I mean, it's easy to look at ovi and think, oh yeah, this high flying team. But yeah, sure, they could probably use a little more offense. The one thing you have to remember is these teams are looking at the rosters and going, we'd like to improve this spot. And that's why you've only got so many assets to trade, right? Like you, that's where you're at. Atlantic division. So again, I'll just rhyme them off. You've got your top teams in Florida Tampa Bay, the Toronto Maple Leafs. I want to include Boston in there because I do feel like Don Sweeney is likely going to do something. We know that you've got to Jake the Brussels situation that continues to linger and don't think he's loving it. I mean, clearly he wants to change a scenery. So maybe that'll manifest moving forward. But go to the top of the division and then work your way down through Florida one defenseman for sure. Two if they can find another one, they've got some assets. They have a fantastic team. I said at the All-Star Game doing the game for ESPN. I said, if you're bored to an on a panther's game, you won't be in three minutes. Like explosive high power, they need another defense. Yeah. And I think they will get one. You know who's you know who's 1D that's going to get this is going to have all kinds of interest in. And it might be can to use this first trade. Yeah. Jeff petry is I know he's had a crappier. We used to call it a ship bomber. That's what he's having. It is terrible. Jeff petry is a good player. And if somebody, somebody will acquire him and be really happy.

"I'm almost I will say playing on a team when you have gotten the stuffing kicked out of you, it wears you every way. It wears your emotion, it wears the way you play. You just get down to nothing. And I'm not saying there's ambivalence, but it's really close. Like, it's tough to build any emotion into anything. Like that shouldn't have happened. There should have been some response somewhere, but I've lived it. And I'm telling you, you know, the people can scream and yell as much as they want and say, you should be this, or you should do that. Sometimes you don't even realize when you're there, what's just happened? Well, look, I mean, we in the media at times. And I don't include you in this because, you know, as a former player, you know, you've got the benefit of both sides and reading each situation. We in the media have a tendency to lean on being both judge and jury. And I said this on Montreal radio yesterday, Monday. In fact, I'm like, look, I'm not going to assassinate the character of Jeff petry. I don't know what he saw. I'm going to give Jeff Petrie the benefit of the doubt. And I didn't explain it as in depth as you just did, but I'm like, man, you know, just take a step back and analyze the situation in Montreal. Do we honestly believe that Gulak or patriot paying whoever was on the ice in that sequence weren't going to do what's right by a teammate? I mean, there's just a lot of things you would want into this. You would be amazed at people would be amazed. You don't see on the somebody will get hurt. And after the game, you guys, you know, you're sitting in it, you know, around the room or you're just showering up after and you go, what the hell happened to him? You're like, you didn't see that? You were on the ice. No, I didn't see it. Yeah. You know, you might have been 5, 8 feet away, not even seen it. It's the weirdest thing. And there's a million examples of it. And you go back and you look at it and you go, well, I didn't know that happened. Well, one more layer and look, Jeff peeker is believed to be one of those players that would prefer a change of scenery. That's shocking, given everything that's gone on in Montreal. And so for that too, I'll leave it with this. Last year, people were talking about how great a player Jeff Petrie is. Now people in Montreal want to ride him out of town. Well as soon as you ride him out of town, now you're going to look for Jeff petry. Yeah. And you've just traded him. I'll tell you, if I were contending team, I'd be looking for Jeff petry. And he'll be hungry too, right? I mean, he'll be eager. All right, well again, that's a story that isn't going anywhere anytime fast. So let's dive into each conference in the NHL because we're past the midpoint of the regular season. Talking about Montreal. So let's go to the east. So again, as we're walking this conversation last, we're recording the podcast. We could be recording the podcast in three weeks. There's still last. Okay. You've got Caroline in New York and the Pittsburgh penguins the top three teams in the Met metropolitan. You've got Florida tap patrono in the Atlantic. And then your wild card teams are Washington. And of course, the capitals could move up in the metropolitan. Boston, good move up in the Atlantic..

"I think it's amazing. I think David's of our has value as a player, but they were never going to be able to fill the void left by Shea Weber, right? But somehow they found a player who is even slower than Shea Weber was and just watching David sivan move around as I guess entertaining in a way. It's going to only be described as glacial. So, I mean, you talk about Shea Weber and his impact and his loss. But their second most important defense in last year was Jeff petry, and he has not been very good this year. And I guess like this speaks to why I have them so high, as a bruins fan, I think one of my funniest moments of the season so far is Jeff petree throwing a puck off Charlie Coyle's head and him scoring a goal from that. There's entertainment in sort of like that mess. Yeah, it is a bit of a clown show. I'll give you that. All right, I think it's going to be very good reason to keep losing track at the time. Who's next to your list? Next on my list is the buffalo savers. You know, I think that the savers are in the first month of the season. I was locked in. They were performing and surprising. So I was watching them. I wanted to see what the heck was going on there. And then so if you had asked me a couple weeks ago, a month ago, would have had a much higher, but you know, I lose interest in the sabers in sort of them being in the middle, whereas I will watch the sabers, just like I will watch the Arizona coyotes if they are awful. If they are tanking, I want to see that because it's a mess, it's a clown show..

"5 21 to go in the first period of Game five. The Lightning and Canadians scoreless Still, Micheletti at this point being out shot 11 3 if the Canadians can get out of the opening period scoreless Would that be a little bit of a victory? For sure. I mean, this period is similar to the first period of game number four, where Montreal didn't get much as far as scoring chances in the period Carey Price with very solid and goal and those both those two things have happened here in this game. Yeah, we likened it or at least highlight and this is the old rope ago. In the first period of Game four and feels the same way here. No score as Canadians able to get it into the Tampa Bay zone. McDonough leads it out. Andre Palat past will flutter to the open, right when stating into it is turning the defenseman up on the rush and a pad save made on his sharp angle shot by Carey Price set back the other way by the Canadians and no icing here, forcing McDonough all the way back to get it. This past comes ahead at center and now speed coming late from point. But the past, not stick at the Blue line. He'll just sweep it in. I believe it waited. It went into the netting it back onto the ice surface. I beg your pardon. So the base off comes outside the Montreal blue Now, breakpoint hasn't had the puck bunch in this period either Make you wonder a little bit. No, he's not. He's not a real big players. And he's been taking a beating in this year. He's been a target. You're right. It really has a big defenseman for Montreal. Every chance they get. They're not only just rub them out, but they do it with authority. He's no cold Caufield, but he's listed at 5 10 just 1 65 hoping Caufield five ft seven by far stands out Is this outlet pass by Edmundson goes off of coffee, old and the likely right back to the flock in the Montreal zone, and Suzuki gotta skate on it, allowing Edmondson to throw it off the window and out. Caulfield takes it back in neutral zone and now lays it back to Edmondson Pull Caufield, with points in three straight games to the Canadians has tied and 35 year old record. Most points by a player under age 22, a single playoffs with 14 points. Odlum you had 16 back in. 1986 and Suzuki also has 16 points. He's gray beard, 21 years of age Canadians getting a lot from their young players in this series, and throughout these playoffs centering pass by maroon behind the Montreal net ricochets high. In the air off of Christ and Perry muscles his way to center in a lightning inadvertently throw it into their own bench. John you mentioned maybe even before the game started. That you talked about the 3rd 4th lines for Tampa Bay, getting involved in the scoring and what? Not not as much more their top in this first period. The 3rd and 4th line for Tampa Bay have been the best lines on the ice generated for either team right and then throwing Coleman when he's done short handed and his effort In that area. John Cooper yesterday talking with the media. Talking about that third line of George Coleman and Gaudreau, he said. They bring a gun to a knife fight. It's just the way they play, and they have become a pain in the you know what, according to the Tampa Bay coach, and he means to his opposition to his coaching staff. Part of the reason he starts them show as you pointed out almost every period of every game. David Savard, the Quebec native for Tampa. Has now played more games in the playoffs. Any kids before them in the regular season after coming over at the deadline from the Columbus Blue Jackets dumps it in. It goes for a change Evans the other way for the Canadians, with a long wrist shot that misses everything. Hedman collects it off the end boards and stretches it to the logo at center. Cirelli gets it into the Montreal zone didn't get a deep toll as the light trying to get a change, you know, states it back to center Red but can't get. It passed Rueda at the Tampa Bay line down to 2.5 to go in a scoreless first period, Game five of the Stanley Cup final. The arena in Tampa. Canadians jumping in and trying to get around Big John Rudy, but it can a large check, keeps him at bay and gets the puck ahead, allowing the lightning to clear the zone. Holman turned away in the neutral zone as he got some resistance. And now Edmondson with it for Montreal head the Gallagher at center turns and drops it coming, Suzuki. He sends it in wide of the goal hockey and boards fire and tried to center But nobody home as he put it through his own legs. Now speed the other way for Kucherov. He hands it off the turn X From the right circle is struggled for a moment and then held by price by your neck again has been active in this game. Yeah, they get one of the keys for Tampa Bay is to get those defenseman involved in the rushes and sure, knock in particular has been up the ice an awful lot and again as soon as soon as Tampa Bay has controlled the puck in their own zone, they make one pass. The defense, mint gold they take off until they broke out on the left side. Sure, next, the right defenseman. He flies down the right side who drop finds him and he surprised price with the shot hears so much about Hedman. Chernykh, his fourth among all defenseman in the Stanley Cup playoffs, scoring. He's got 10 points and the second at plus 12 as well. He's been a big part of the lightning getting to this point the precipice of yet another Stanley Cup championship up to center ice off the offensive zone face off for the lightning, But the Canadians able to roll it back won't go far enough for icing is Suzuki Does the honors Hedman chases it down? 90 seconds to go in the first? Point takes the pass. An offside goes Andre Palat, and after that, after well after the whistle, Josh Anderson with a cross check just the Blue Cross check on point. And then following that up Character comes over its point again. Accident talks him into the boards, So that's I mean, it's just been continually. They're trying to wear down point. Wear down Kucherov. Not quite going over the line, but just enough to make it hurt A little bit Joe at what point in the series. Does that wear and tear start to show up here in Game five? Is this Game four Game three games five. Game seven. While generally what happens is and his coaches and the Montreal players have talked about it. Don't forget to finish every checks. No matter what the score is no matter what the series uh, his as far as games tried because that hasn't affected games, 56 and seven maroon comes out and gives Perry a bump that knocks him down before they dropped the puck. Of course, those two former teammates in Anaheim over three years Canadians win the draw, weaving his way through center Jeff Petry, who dumps it in behind the net stall, trying to seal it off of the left boards. As the lightning unable to clear and army can't get to it Spun around. Here comes Matthew Joseph, assist in each of the last two games for Joseph. He drew in after Killorn was injured, gets below the goal line and digs it out trying to circle in front and get it to the net. It went off Army a stick harmlessly to the right corner. Carry up the horse, but not out again. Hedman does not give up the blue line. The Lightning is the rules. Just do not give up the blue lines. Canadians try the other side and stall gets at the center and gets it in. Keep under a minute now to go in a scoreless first period of Game five. Here in Tampa, McDonough forced back from behind the lightning that he'll start over with half a minute to play looks up, and now he'll put it on the wing. Good drill. Puts it in behind that undrafted on North Bay in the O H l hardly. Boudreau has become a very useful piece of a very good camp of 18 battles in the corner with Blake Coleman is a bucket made the right corner in the Montreal zone moment gets it back off the side of the net.

"Joe Micheletti, John Oliver and Emily Arena. The Canadians on their first power play of the game in a scoreless game five John Rueda offer a cross check at 7 19. Canadians have to go back into their own goal to turn it over, and Coleman very nearly gets a short handed goal. He's got it again in front of pitchforks, the backhander wide and Jeff Petry trying to settle things down for the 1st 20 seconds of the Montreal power play. Which has been fairly ineffective in the series is equally ineffective. It Canadians just one per seven on the power play, but they're making soft place jokes and they're getting outworked by the penalty, killing the lightning round. For sure, they thought Montreal thought that Tampa Bay was just going to clear the ice. Clear the puck down the ice on the first one. Tampa Bay didn't try to make a play, and they did the Coleman Suzuki fires it hard around and into the Tampa Bay zone. McDonough pops into the front of the net. Nobody home but Anthony Cirelli of the Lightning and he'll ice it. Got a penalty coming up. Behind the plate. Is it coincidental minors? Let's listen. Anyone got minor interference. For about two minutes, Embellishment. So it's an interference call on Sirnak. And an embellishment call on Perry's so it is coincidental Minors at 8 15. Perry Perry slammed the Penalty box gate. As he went into the penalty box. He didn't like it. Your neck just came over and gave him a shoulder to the chest. And Kerry went down. And the officials felt that he embellished to call enough to even things up, Joe to me. It's the age old conversation. We could talk about it all night long. How can it be both? Either one or the other. It is both because that's the call. Does not affect Manpower situation remains a five on four power play for the Canadians and Anderson offside as he tries to pull a pass from behind him back into the Tampa Bay zone. And the Canadian power play still has 48 seconds left joke, but it has not looked sharp. No, it hasn't You know, this is a power play that That Hasn't hasn't really looked all that sharp throughout the series. I've got some young players on there. And you know, we've spoken so often about the Montreal penalty. Tampa Bay's is excellent as well. Anderson and Coleman. Jostle at the edge of the circle, exchanging short cross checks. The officials have to come over and All the old line in the back seat like on vacation with your brother and sister. Never worked. No, it doesn't was going to say we'll see if it works, but Number. The retaliation is always what Mom and dad costs and here comes Coleman off the face off. He had a chance to come in short handed, but he's caught by Anderson is going to take a penalty. That's hooking call and Coleman saying it should have been a penalty shot. He's all the way back at his own blue. Yeah, but he's got a point. The question is, Did he have a breakaway and so 17 so Tampa Bay makes the makes the play. They try to clear it goes off a glove. And slows down. And so Coleman Is able to Try to reach out And he loses control and tried to control it with his Right skate and that didn't work. So the Game is being called tightly, Joe that go so far as Would you consider that a pretty good penalty because of Anderson doesn't take that penalty. Your point. I think Coleman, who's got great speed is up to the race is on a breakaway for sure. So it's four on four for the next few seconds as the lightning people fuckin circuit kept trying to get it back from Gord had his stick lifted. It angles off the boards and back out center ice. Shots. 10 2 in favor of Tampa Bay Montreal Power play did not even produced a shot on goal before they took the penalty there by Anderson at 8 43. How Suzuki wiped out by Coleman Coleman's been all over the ice in the best player on the ice in this first period. He has points in every game in this series, and Tampa Bay wanted one appellant. Too many men on the ice Suzuki on his way to the bench. Puck just appeared in front of him went off the skate of a teammate that was going over the boards. Then he just dumped it in the rest of the way. Don't think it was too many men on the ice and nothing else. The officials agree with me. Cadman handles at center Ice Tampa Bay seconds away from going on their own power play now on their second power play of the game as the Canadians sweep it away, and Hedman has to come back and get it. That's another example. Cirelli gets it right at the blue line, carries it over the blue line, and immediately he's attacked. He loses the puck. Montreal clears it. Edmund brings it in for Stamkos, who wires it around, and Cirelli battling with Byron to try to keep it alive. Future off made a little pump pass into that bumper. Position in the middle. Got it right back and point now has it right Circles out High. Hedman. Top of the list takes a wrist shot doubled up by Carey Price. That time, Tampa Bay was able to get set up and when Kucherov has it that when he becomes so dangerous, so he's on the right side, and he's looking for either a plate of the middle. Play down on the side of the net. But this time he got it to Hedman on the left point, have been walked in and initially decided to take the shot because Cirelli was directly in front of Carey Price. But Cirelli took a step to the side price was able to see the shot make us safe thoroughly Wednesday, ensuing faceoff to the right of price pup on the end boards. Evans didn't get it out shot past my head in the boy was looking for future off the right post, and he didn't connect hustling the other way. Evans trying to split the defense shorthanded, and he's written off the puck in the left corner now by heading Nine seconds of the power play. 10 6 remain in the man advantage point across the line from Petrovac to control his pass deflected towards the net. Kept away by Carey Price and collected by the Canadians. Daigneault clears the zone that'll do it. Out of the box Anderson and the Canadians full strength. So Tampa Bay old for two on the power play, and they turn it over at Senate. Here's Suzuki on his own into the Tampa Bay zone strips to the left corner, wanted the center for the far post. Fact came aboard to intercept that. Lifted out by the lightning. This will go all the way back into Montreal Ice First man on He drove a rolls it slowly to the side of an end and Carey price scoops it up. He'll hang on just under nine minutes to go. In Game five first period in Tampa, no score between the Lightning and Canadians in conjunction with NBC Sports, You're listening to the Stanley Cup final on Sports USA..

"The ice, because every time we get it, there's somebody there is no place to pass it. There's no place to skate. Four on four for the next two minutes. His surrogate chance shot from the line off the faceoff win hit Kucherov, and it slapped out to center by Shea Weber Boy has Nick Suzuki raised his game after a tough start to this series. He has 11 shots on goal in the last two games coming into this one, and now he's got points in the last three games as he draws the primary assist on the goal moments ago by Josh Anderson Cooper trying to work his way behind the Montreal that leads Along the end boards and then hooks it back through the slot. Nobody home and Suzuki off to the races on right wing 21 year old just feathers it in behind the net. Then he goes and gets it. His teammates changing behind the play. Nearly got it away from Hedman. Now Suzuki will change as well as Hedman moves it a heading. Excuse me, Sir. Tkachev doesn't get back from court. Lightning will restart McDonough from behind his own net. Former Wisconsin badger right through the logo at center on right wing for board into the Montreal zone has passed ahead off the stick of Coleman, who is canceled out in the corner by Jeff Petry kicked loose and Edmondson pounces on it behind the net. Still 45 seconds in the four on four and it's turned over at the line by to Poli and Gord tries to play it around him. It goes right to price. He taps into the line, but not out and now another penalty coming up. Montreal and as the puck is touched up by Toffoli. Canadians are going to go short handed to Foley, who turned it over at the blue line on the exit of the zone ends up taking the penalty for its a slash. It's actually Edmonson, I believe is is going to go. You're right. My mistake. Johnny Gore. Through the park in the middle and Evanston. Just chop Coleman right across the back. Had How the officials have done a good job because obviously the emotions are high. And so they've kept their good about when you chop somebody over the back. Yeah, that's that's going to draw a penalty. And Dominic Ducharme is not happy with the call Joe this this Tampa Bay power plays good enough. This is a four on three And they win the draw. Hedman, Hands it off You trot gets the glass with a big one time blast. Top of the right circle. Lightning recover possession and the man opened up the line is Hedman. Now let's circle one time blast by Stamkos that Mr Mark comes back to him. He feeds it. The Hedman Kuchar off. In the right circle. And, of course, Stamkos on the left the scene pass tipped away Good stick Trump to know again, recovered by the lightning and fired right on that by Kucera could save by prices. The puck trickles back out to the lines coincidental minors about to expire. In fact, they're over. Now. It's a five on four. So Evans and point joined the special teams Cirelli out of the corner. The Lightning gives it back to Kucera, who trough handles right to the side of the neck gets it back from Cirelli, middle of the ice. It's Hedman right circle to trump into the middle and points shot was snuffed out and, you know, sends it ahead. Parcel break short handed, and Evans just didn't have enough in the tank to skate into it now under a minute to go in the period, there's a one second difference between the penalty clock and the game clock. Point brings it in on the left side on his backhand puts it behind the network. Petrie swats it away looking and trying to protect the puck in the corner. But it's dug out by Stamkos around the wheel. They move it right circle. Kucherov. That was a shot past the top of the crease. Looking for Pilate didn't connect. Hedman has it again at the line. Hot pass to Kucherov. He takes it off escape. On the goal line gets it back playing catch with Palat, who dropped right circle middle of the ice again. Hedman back to Kucherov for point. He hit the post at bump position in the middle of the ice. They worked it perfectly. I think it went off the elbow where the Post meets the crossbar again. Tampa Bay gets possession back Great puck recoveries. Past went through point and again to cut you off from the right circle. He misses on the short side 10 seconds left in the period is the Canadians are just trying to survive this power play right now Lot with a keep at the left point. Stamkos in the corner. He's immediately pounced on there, and the period will come to an end. As the penalty comes to an end, and the puck pops up onto the top of the net. Canadians survived the opening period. Not only do they survive it, Joe, they take the lead to the locker room. Well, the first scoring chance that they get in the game they scored and that was late in the period and then the Tampa power playing At the end of this first period did everything but scored. They found they found the right man in point to get a shot that went off the post..

"I mean, they just they were just wondering, you know, through the first Almost 15 minutes. They're thinking Tampa Bay's got to have too many men on the ice, because every time we get it, there's somebody there is no place to pass it. There's no place to skate four on four for the next two minutes as surrogates gems shot from the line off the faceoff win hit Kucherov and slapped out to center. By Shea Weber Boy has nixed Suzuki raised his game after a tough start to this series. He has 11 shots on goal in the last two games coming into this one, and now he's got points in the last three games as he draws the primary assist on the goal moments ago by Josh Anderson Kucherov trying to work his way behind the Montreal net, leaves it along the end boards and then hooks it back through the slot. Nobody home and Suzuki off to the races on right wing for 21 year old just Feathers it in behind, and then he goes and gets it is teammates changing behind the play. Nearly got it away from Hedman. Now Suzuki will change as well as Hedman moves it a heading. Excuse me, Sir. Tkachev doesn't get it back from Gort. Lightning will restart McDonough from behind his own net. "You know, it's a huge matchup, and that's the case in our Game four of the Stanley Cup final with Tampa Bay going for the sweep of the Canadians on Montreal ice, and let's consider the haves chances of getting back into this series after an extra day off between games and not only lost seven straight to Tampa and 12 of their last 13, But the Lightning Arthur Tina after a loss over the past two playoff runs, So now they have to lose four in a row with the best goalie on the planet. Good luck with that, but that's why they play the Games one at a time and ABS demand. Jeff Petry says Nothing is unusual for his club during this crazy year. It's been a difficult season. Uh, it's presented challenges throughout the course of it. Um, you know challenges in different ways. Um, so obviously they have another one and I wouldn't expect any any differently than than a year we've had. So, um you know, like we've said, it's It's a big challenge ahead of us, but we face challenges before and We're not looking at the end result. We're looking at one game and take it day by day and one game at a time. And, um, I think everybody Believes in our group in here, and I like I said, one day at a time, one game at a time and and we'll go from there and see what happens. So it does seem inevitable. The Lightning will win this series and soon, but their head coach Jon Cooper, says one thing's for sure His guys won't ever think that maybe it would be better to win the cup in front of their fans know That that will never sneak into our locker room We dealt with out. Um, we dealt with that last year. And in a different way. Um It's There's a mindset that has developed with our players, and we had a chance to To knock out the Islanders last year and didn't do it. We had a chance to knock out Dallas last year and didn't do it, and it's a learning process to go through that. By no means that guarantee any results of what's going to happen in tomorrow's game. But I know our mindsets different going into these games on these close out games, as they have Um in the past, and and so Regardless of if it's about winning. It's not about where you in And that's all we care about. And coach Cooper great defenseman Victor Hedman isn't looking ahead at anything. The standard Cup. Like I said this morning is enough motivation, I think for us as occupy players, but Obviously, what we did in the bubble last year was was very special. And you want to relive that moment, but Attended. They were. We're not there yet. We need to win one more game, but we put ourself in a good position, obviously, but Fourth one is the hardest one to get. But you know we're going to do whatever it takes to win the next game, and, you know, we'll think about it after but at the end of the day, you know we got more more work to do, and we're not Not satisfied until that time, and that time could be tonight. If you do what, Victor, you want to put the puck in the net, when when you get the opportunity, So for us, it's been we're trying to force you know the opponent to make mistakes and But at the end of the day, you know we play our game and like just so we have a game plan. We try and go out and execute and If we can force them to make mistakes, That's uh you know, that's where we're looking for. So We got some highly skilled for us. I can put the puck in the net and Have obviously done a great job of dot So we're looking to to keep that moving on. Monday. Well, Monday is here, and if the Lightning sweep the Canadians, it would strengthen their legacy. Big time and coach Cooper isn't shying away from any of it. It's that Inner drive that maturity level They have to understand. Like you start throwing Legacy around and and a lot of these words that describe teams that You know, you sit there and say, Jeez, they were pretty damn good team. Um, but you you really get that moniker If you win cups and No, we've won one and nobody can take that away from us. But the determination on this group to get another one is It's amazing to watch and and so, like I said We are not there yet, but I'm so proud of the Just the maturity level, this group and their sheer determination to continue and to try and get another one and Hopefully, at some point where we can do that Only three other teams have ever led the final three zip and never trailed in a game. The last being the 2012 L. A Kings over New Jersey. And if that continues tonight, that's a special legacy for the bolts to go for getting closer to opening face off of Game four with Tampa Bay at Montreal in.

Ruda and Johnson draw the assists as Vasilevskiy covers up a shot off the wing from Ben Sharon. "Both fantastic Goalie. I think the key I agree with you. I think I think T Mobile Arena. I've never seen it so quiet in the second period. The second period was very, very quiet. Then let's talk about the third period, by the way Credit to the Canadians for for that happening. Look at the third period the last five or six minutes. One thing I did like, and you expect it, But the night showed a lot of fighting a lot of heart. You have that goal that makes it 32. And then all of a sudden you're saying to yourself with four minutes to go. Whoa. This could be a monumental comeback. They threw everything except the kitchen sink at price. They really did. Price stood tall. He made some fantastic saves. But I think the one positive you can really look at this game is the nights that the the last five minutes they showed a lot of intensity and fight. Where was that? The whole game? Obviously the again I'm gonna use the term Obvious city. You're down 32 with four minutes to go. You're going to be desperate, right? You're going to do everything you can to win a hockey game, and they did that. I think they need to take some of that energy and some of that desperation to start Game three. I mean, I mean, I think again. It's an obvious thing to say. But you've got to take that with you and say, Look what we did the final six minutes of that game. We need to start the game like that. Right, Daniel. Yeah, I know you're in terms of the intensity and all the things you just said, like. Obviously it's there because we thought it late in the third period. Right? So, yeah, Mindset wise, Let's let's have that desperate. Throw the kitchen sink from from from Puck Drop, you know, and and and really show up and you know and play a solid 50 minutes, which you know they just they weren't able to do that. And it's sort of been. You know, the problem here that I have is, it's been a pattern. Where you know the slow starts. We're just kind of like we get into the groove in the 2nd 3rd period because this isn't what happened during the regular season at all during the regular season. We were great in the first period, and that's you know, part of our advantage and T Mobile has always been. We've got 18,000 fans. We come out hot and we get an early goal and you know, we, you know, we take it to him from there, and that's not been happening. And, you know, I think that's concerned. I imagine the team's looking around them. You know what's going on here? They also got to be looking at the fact that like, where is the forward scoring, you know, for the gold? They've got five of the goals we've scored. Come from. Defenseman like our forwards have been m I a on the score sheet. And you know when you look at Own and patch already, and you know how important they are in terms of driving offense, and they have not shown they have not shown up. Really. And I think you've got to give credit to Montreal and you know their top line of you know, and Gallagher and lacking in who's you know it, really shut them down. And done a great job. I feel like if I mean, if you look at this, you know the X's and Oh's here and you think Okay, Montreal is the worst team. They've done a really good job from a coaching perspective of You know, playing a playing well enough to be able to be in these games and actually come out on top in Game two. I got to tell you, I think Jeff Petry in the lineup for Montreal is it made a huge difference? Uh, and I know he took. He took kind of a dumb penalty there early in the game, but just his presence out there on the ice. It's kind of I kind of compare it a little bit, even though they're different positions, But I kind of compare that went patch ready first got out there. It gave the nights that extra boost just the fact that he was on the ice, and I thought just Petrie's presence yesterday helped the Canadians just from a standpoint of the physicality of the game. I thought they they dominate at times. Uh, you know, the physical part of the hockey game last night. Would you agree that just Petrie in the lineup makes this Canadians team so much better. Well, listen, the Canadians they obviously have Shea Weber, but they do not have another defenseman, right? Like Jeff Petry. They just don't have the kind of guy that can do what he does. I think you know, the biggest asset he has is, you know, just break out getting the puck up and out of his own. You know, he's a fluid skater. You know, make smart decisions with the park. So, Yeah, no question. You know, Montreal having him in the lineup? Um, you know, sort of neutralized. Well, it doesn't really. I mean, our defense is going to be. It's just better. We have a lot few guys that can do what he does. No question. Listen, when you're much draw and you're already outmanned, if you will, in terms of the skill department, having teacher is going to be a big boost for your team. I'll tell you what would have been a big boost for the Canadians heading back home to a sold out crowd. I don't know what the hell is going on there with the virus, but I got to tell you something at this stage. I don't understand how they're not allowing people in the arena. It's very bizarre to me. What is that going to look like Daniel? I mean the semifinals of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and there's going to be nobody in attendance. Very bizarre. I mean, similar to What we saw last year..
