"It's amazing pitch. My mom was in tears. She could just couldn't do arrive at my when i went through the on believable boxes full of staff. And i'm doing the same thing with my mom right now. So yeah very challenging. Yeah it is. It is challenging. But there's gems in there. It's yeah yeah. I mean you know looking through these old black and white pictures you don't you got people you know horse wrong care horse-drawn care pulling up and like and my mom's like i have no idea who these are. These people are but i must be related to them in some way because this from my dad's her dad's stuff my grandfather right. Those are the photos you upload to a stock photo site and put them up for sale. Now yeah. I don't know who any of these people are exactly. But it's it's it's it's it's yeah it's heartbreaking it's tugs at your heartstrings to and but you know it's it's good it's good. We've got boxes of my grandparents photos so of their parents in them. Were kids and crazy crazy stuff so much fun. Oh yeah that's super cool. I mean some of the you know the picture is really good nostalgia. You know how this was back in the day. I mean my mom's in her inner Mid eighties in his like seeing pictures of her when she was like three years old. Yeah yeah oh my. We were over at my grandfather's on sunday celebrating my mom's birthday i mean he's ninety five and my what the subject was. My mom went in good old. Timey the keep photo books. I mean there's moves by year of you know the kids growing up and everything and your pull up this and here's this dead relative and there's this oh look at that vacation we took and all this other stuff so cool so cool look back yeah well oh with that said so jeff working folks find.

"Thank you for sure. Yeah well well. You might have actually semi answered this question. But so what has been your biggest stumbling block. Interim what did i say. Well you were. You were talking about You know the designs and stuff like that and you know Knowing which wants to go after which one's not too so yeah sure. I have a different different answer specifically to the question anytime. You're trying to do something at a high level. I think your own personality ones if being a stumbling block you have to you. You have to get past yourself in up ways and find your weaknesses and Work on those. I learned this. I think best in music where i you know. You're completely expressing out loud in the moment in front of six people. What you're doing and you have to learn so much about yourself. In order to do that at a high level and insecurities and all kinds of other things can come to the forefront under that kind of thing and in some ways. That's true about woodworking. I think one of the things that has been a stumbling block is designed something that is just crazy difficult to make that. That's both something that allowed me or forced me to become a much much better woodworker but at the same time i it's not always a good thing to have a piece that you're afraid to go back hard to do and not the takada rocking chair. But yeah there's another one. And i love the peace and I was actually going to ask you about that in in your previous answers like have you designed something that's like. Oh this is fantastic but yeah. There's no way. I can actually do the join ary to actually make this. Well i had to invent join ary exactly. Do all kinds of crazy things for for that for that. Rocking chair is relies or last episode. Guess with the bed. Yes so okay. Clarify a long time since recording. Last week i know it was a week ago. Yeah no i know. I know eddie out. Yes there's that that could be a stumbling block which is just going completely overboard on things. In at time. Yes sometimes simple. Things can be very challenging to do but when you have crazy difficult things that's that's a whole new level of challenge and then people asking me for the plans for like i really don't understand. I can barely make this thing. There's no way. I can put it down on paper. Yes yes yes you ever get the call from one of the magazines. Hey would you do an article on that chair. I know they know better going to be a ten issue piece. Take a little explained. Just let you know. Well let me round out the last question. How has the internet influenced your work. Jeff i don't know how it's influenced by woodworking. It's forced me to become a photographer. which you know. I always documented my work but never really Paid as much attention to what was going on So i've i've had to do that. It's it's forced me to come out of my shell a little bit I love teaching one on one and an incredibly comfortable doing that. But you know just posting stuff effortlessly online. I don't do that. I have to work at that But i you know. I don't know how it's changed if at all my woodworking I love doing the flu engine videos. I'll say i think it's like you. You can find a way. And like i'm the same. I'm i'm not natural social media guy and you know that it just doesn't come come to me and so it makes you think about it in like focusing on photography because you want it to be you know attractive to the viewer in that way and that takes that takes time. That's that's really really important because it doesn't come naturally the all you know and so influence the way you work but it influences the way you exposed yourself and one of the things i don't realize is that many of the everyday procedures in my shop. I'm sure would be more interest. But i always think about what i'm going to post. I always have to think about what. I'm gonna post in sort of. Is this gonna work and you know. How do i have to set this up and i stress about that a little bit more than i and perhaps should. Maybe maybe this is a one of these. Instances where the question should be reversed as. How has jeff miller's internet presence influence other people's work sure. Yeah yeah well. I'm sure there's going to be a rash of them coming up soon. Yeah just like yeah so jeff you think that. Do you think that if something like instagram was around when you were figuring out some of the other pieces that you that you've really had to figure out and really enjoyed figuring out you think that you would enjoy posting about those more. He said the fluting engine. You like you love posting those videos because as you're learning and you're you know challenging yourself. I'm having yeah. I mean it's. It's just so much fun doing that in in different ways and sure. I think if instagram were around earlier in my career i would have kept into it. I was very big on documenting my own work in. That's one of the crazy. Things i've been doing is going through old photographs of of stuff. And oh god. I don't need seven photographs of this and that that is perfect content. Post those photographs. That's an idea. Yeah i mean interesting idea the way back history machine. It's always interesting. I mean just. Like i mean like the machine itself you know. It's it's interesting because it's it's fairly complicated. Doesn't very intricate thing but people also like to see you know like you said the way back you know. Yeah it's it's it's it's kinda cool you know like this is me like someone like you that it's been at this for a good long while and you've developed you know seeing some candid photo of you back. You know twenty years ago it has to it. It really does sure. Yeah okay well. Now get scanner fired up. Let's go yeah. What was that was the thing for. A while the throwback thursday thing it was just that was the exact purpose it was like. This is what i used to look like for some reason. But i mean you could make it more interesting. I mean this is what i worked on back. Then look how. I've developed look how advanced or changed how i'm doing things. Yeah interesting perspective. Fantastic ideas. I also Just help my mom clean out her house as she moved to an independent living facility and we went through my dad's a ten thousand photos..

"That one right now. It's gotta be the fluting engine. I just gravitate to all the time and and there's a sense of play and discovery and it is meditative in. There's this central quality to making these ridiculous cuts over and over again But since pretty much. No one else access right. I think my four and a half lene nielsen with a fifty degree. Fraud will will suffice as a standard for it That really is the plane that reach for the most and i have a lot of planes. I'm not an insane collector. But i there are way too many in my in my toolbox. What do you like. What do you like that plane. Most for smoothing anything. And i mean it and it's just i tuned it up and just you know i just love working with it. There are plenty of other planes. That i pull out for other very specific things. But that's that's my general smoother. Yeah forget your book video on ergonomics as far as you know actually using the plane and how you should push through as well as all kinds of other Things so foundations. Better woodworking i. It's it's still available at one of these That f w media popular woodworking books. Put it out in got sold. It went to penguin random house but i. They haven't really been pushing it very much. I have lots of copies. I bought out stock g. So so i can. I can send them out people available at your website. Yes i don't know if it's a direct sale thing but if you email me we can figure out about the video is still available. I don't even know about that 'cause i somehow i think that was collateral damage in the in the f. w. benghazi okay. That's a that's a shame because there was kind of instructional. I have both the book in the video. So yeah the dvd. Should i say yeah. That does it make available as a download somehow but. I'm not sure what's going on with that. Yeah i don't know. Yeah since they totally Been what they got bought out. Bankruptcy bought out again. I don't know yeah. Yeah was under shop woodworking. But i haven't been to that site and forever jaffe. You mentioned that the fluting engine isn't widely available. Do you have any plans to change that. The idea would be to write a book on it and the plan and have have for it as well as how to use it a little bit of history on it and how how you know avail. well how. How easy would it be for someone if they were so inclined. That seems like a very niche thing. I mean those various would be the hardest part. Yes we will will thing. I mean it's it you common parts you could just make one You know the basic framework was four by fours and ben. I just made a bunch of things. I mean yeah i. There's nothing outrageous about it. If you had work may nothing magic leisure. Yeah right yeah. It's a beefy frame. And there's some a little bit of metalworking but the bulk of it the bearings are just you know bolts. I add in hardware. I could probably have made made up anyhow right and Have someone make the blades for me. That that seems easy enough to kind of put that together whether whether i can sell it as a book. I don't know. I might have to self publish something like that. I haven't spoken to anybody about that yet. So it's hard to figure out easy to build not that hard to build right. It took quite a while to to figure it all out. Okay certainly if you can build a workbench you could build one of these. Oh there you go so there you go mark you got one. What every week you could make one played eleven fluting engineer. Yeah right yes. The jeff miller flooding engine by played eleven. That's got a certain ring to it. Very good yeah and then you need to charge more. For the benches that are fluted on the andrea. Yes jack playing. That will flute the top of the bench really quickly all right jeff. So who has influenced you the most in woodwork. So early on certainly shaker designed so. There's no one individual Some of the sickly furniture. I read as most of us did the james enough books And found them inspiring. Although i did not wanna make stands on cabinets. I just like the approach shells. Yeah right yeah. Bright with owls and are there individuals. I don't really know. I just sort of inhale this much as i could from everywhere I have this enormous collection of fine woodworking magazines in various people over. The years have inspired this or that I really feel like i'm inspired. By almost everything. I see It's very hard to nail down a particular individual who was sort of an outstanding inspiration in that Perfectly understandable. i mean. Y'all good inspiration can come from anywhere and right. I mean i. I walk around. Architecture inspires me as i'm walking around and you're gonna grab great city to to be inspired. Exactly do you do you do at sorry. This just fired up a question my brain. Do you do a lot of scouting sketchbook book around or no. But i find i doodle and sketch and have ideas and throw him down on scraps. I have lots of Sketchbooks I keep something like that in my pocket. Most of the time. Okay but I don't lose track of ideas very easily. If something really strikes me it's gonna rattle around in my head for a long time and then the question is sorting out. What do you want to pursue because the design process is iterative. And you've got to do a lot Fail a lot in course of doing it. I you have to decide where you going to go with various things. Where where is your effort. Best spent and so a lot of the sketches or a lot of the ideas. Just go by the wayside which is fine. that's how it should be Precious about them. No and you have to be able to reject ideas very easily As well as criticizing your own ideas which can be really hard for some people There's a weird thing that i talk about this in in the book that i'm working on now on design. Which is it's almost like you have to have two dials one for creativity in one for criticism and as you go through the process you want to start out with the creativity. Dial all the way up and dial down low yeah because you wanted to spew out ideas and then as you move forward you have to change that you have to dial down the creativity in increase the criticism and you also can't get into shape about rejecting your own ideas like oh i've spent all his time thinking about this well too bad too bad idea you see you see it. You know in three dimensions and just doesn't work and sometimes you hanging on the wall for twenty years exactly and it comes back and so the other thing is keep your sketchbooks because you never know what you're gonna find in there as you become a better designer down the road and it is very much a skill that you grow into by doing. Just like cutting dovetails And so yet down the road. Something in that sketchbook can be a resource that you can come back to later fantastic. Sorry no you're good..

"W a podcast and throwing a little support. Let's what the fuck questions mark. I think you're up first and so jeff We covered this a little bit on your long form interview. But how did you originally get into. I think i actually mentioned in the other interview fit. I made Balsa wood and tissue paper airplanes as a kid growing up in models and at a certain point. I there was nothing i would buy that. I wouldn't mess around with I would stereo equipment. I would fool around with that customize it to to war of the way i liked it and wound up being true with other things My grandparents also had a wholesale card stationery store where they sold toys and stuff like that and things would come back broken and they would set me up in a back room in. I would fix anything there. Was this sense that i could just do things and in college i came across a book the amateur woodwind instrument maker i think trevor robinson was the name and i was just smitten with the idea of making musical instruments. And i started doing it. I actually found someone with a shop. Who said they would help me out. But he got another job as a Maybe i don't know what maybe a repair person or a curator of museum and he'd let me use his shop. And i just fooled around and started making things and At the time. I had an apartment where i didn't have any furniture so i made myself a table and Pair of chairs the chairs probably the table to where from a book called the sunset. Book of tables and chairs and the chairs were canvas in wood and they were probably the worst chairs i've ever sat. And and maybe that was. What really led me to to building chairs. Just the thought that. Oh i have to be able to do better than these. Wait so you're working on a design book but it sounds like you're doing design stuff since you were a kid like so. Is it going to be a really short book like. You're just born with design instincts. Sorry i think that's one of the mitts. And and it's it's a myth that i think designers love to cultivate. Which is that only the chosen. Few who have know some sort of intimate relationship with amused can can do this. And i really don't believe that. Now maybe i'm coming from from a place where i was always doing something like this and i do think it's important that you have you know if you're doing something from a young age you wind up with this sort of innate confidence in it but i don't think it's a secret skill at all and and that's really the focus of of the book. I'm working on. I think maybe. I think it maybe depends on your parents are they will are you. 'cause i think kids are like born designers. I agree. I think we all are. And and then i if you if you're in a situation where that is allowed or encouraged is bruce's even better where it's like. Hey mess around with this stuff and you're not gonna get in trouble which is kind of the attitude you have to cultivate as a designer is like it's okay to screw it up you know in the end of the world in a way. That's that's the most important skill is that you have this tolerance for for screw it up and then going back and doing it again and again and again and again Somewhere i read bid it takes seven iterations to get to a decent design. And i think men's about right and in a way you have to be able to bang your head against the wall seven times willing to get us it's very painful and most people aren't willing to get it wrong in freeze up and that gets you nowhere. You'll think we've forgotten how to do. Is how to play around and kids have that down. That's no big deal but you mess around with things and and you take the cutoffs from a project you're working on and you arrange them in a certain way and just find something pleasing in then. It's it's not designed has to be both directed and completely undirected at the same time. You have to let go of your sense that you've got to control all of it right hand. Let it go where it wants to go exactly exa- now one question i have for us. Do you still have that table and chair. No oh darn. But i found a copy of the book. Okay all right. that's good enough. No there's bad furniture designs. The name should have been water really bad designs and so before i get to my actual question. I just want to say where. I i found you. Jeff was chair making a design book. And i can't wait for your forthcoming design book because that chair. Making and design book is the best chair making book. I've read I am not a chair maker as as kyle. Maybe but i am a prolific chair making book over here my books. It is fantastic book. It is to the point where i originally picked up a used copy and i went out and bought a new copy so that you could make a couple of pennies commission on it because i thought it was worth that to support you. It is a fantastic fantastic book so badly encourage courage our listeners to pick up the jeff miller's chair making design in addition to the other books and the new one to come out but to return to our questions jeff. What is your favorite tool two answers to.

"Ah, year after George Floyd's murder. The Senate still hasn't taken up a police reform bill, named after him and passed by the House and Congress is still locked in heated negotiations over and infrastructure Bill. Republicans say they'll send a counter offer to President Biden this week. And there's outrage over comments from Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene again and the lack of Republican response to them. Just to talk about with our political strategist this week. We have Jamal Simmons, the Democrat. Hi, Jamal. Hi. How are you? Good. And Alice Stewart, the Republican Hello to you as well. Hi, Robyn. Great to be with you. Good to hear and see or will not see, but be with you and I have to start with you, Alice. Once again, Marjorie Taylor Greene. Let me set this up. She compared Americans having to wear face masks to Jews having to wear what she called Gold stars. They were actually yellow and then she went on to say and getting in boxcars and going to gas chambers, she said. That's what we're facing. Nancy Pelosi's mask requirement in the House. She doubled down on that later. Ah Yellow Star actually marked Jews for ridicule and annihilation. A mask is to save lives. It took five days and the prodding of powerful GOP donor For any Republican leader to respond. The donor was Jeff Miller, he wrote of Green WTF is wrong with you. House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy condemned Greens comparison a few hours later, but just in a written statement, so there's no audio or video to be replayed. Alice Green is a favorite of Donald Trump. We know that Are Republicans. This afraid of Donald Trump? No and Robin. I'm glad to see whether it took five days. Isa question that baffles me, but I'm glad to see Republicans across the board giving a full throated. Condemnation of these appalling and quite idiotic statements, and she definitely needs to face consequences. And Robin as you say, Faith master about safety and protection. These yellow stars about stigmatization. And in advance of deportation for killing Jews and Marjorie Taylor. Greene not only needs to educate herself on this with regard to history, but she also needs to take a look back at how horrific these statements are. I have been to the Holocaust Museum in Israel. I have been to Auschwitz concentration camp and Birkenau. I have seen These gas chambers that she talks about with claw marks on the walls, people trying to claw their way out of these gas chambers. That is a far cry from what she experiences in the chambers of the U. S capitol. She needs to educate herself and she owes the Jewish people in apology, Gemma You know, I listened to this and I think about Congressman McCarthy, who? Kevin McCarthy, who It just seems in general. He's just a weak leader, you know, and I associate myself with dialysis remarks. But it seems in General McCarthy is just a weak leader because you know why can't he stand up to members of his caucus who are causing the rest of his caucus? So much trouble? And obviously there's the fear of what happens inside of some of the Republican primaries. You know, Nancy Pelosi has a pretty progressive wing of them. They're nothing like Taylor Green. But she's got a pretty progressive wing in her caucus that she seems to be pretty willing to stand up to and say, Hey, we're not going to do that. We're not for to fund please. I don't care how many times you say it. It just seems like McCarthy is not just not have the fortitude to be the leader and certainly not the speaker of the U. S house. Yeah, that's why are you able to say this? But it's not just McCarthy. It's all the top leaders in the GOP who finally made statements after five days. Why isn't she? You know, she was stripped of her committee membership. Why? Why can't they ban her? Well, look, they have done to this point What they can do as you say, removing her from our committee appointments, and I'm I commend them for finally denouncing her statements. But at the end of the day, it's her. People of her district that voted her into that spot, and it's those people that should certainly vote her out. But I think it's quite clear that Republicans have have made it abundantly known that this is not about the left attacking her anymore. This is anyone in the right mind who sees how atrocious her comments are and to be quite honest. What I'm hearing from a lot of Republican House colleagues of hers. Is that she needs to be more introspective herself and realize it. Is she herself a Republican. Should she be in this party? And should she find a new home because she certainly does not represent the views and values and thoughts of Republicans. Robin. One thing is they could they could vote. The Republican caucus couldn't vote her out of the conference. It would take two thirds of the Republican members to do it. It just doesn't seem like McCarthy has the votes and the support of his caucus. This bell hard to get her out of the Republican Conference. Well, and we just wait to hear what she'll say next, but meantime, Jamal, you mentioned your party. There's some debate within the Democratic Party. After the air war between Israel and Hamas. Over 500, former Democratic Party staffers signed a letter urging President Biden to hold Israel accountable. Now in what we were just discussing, you know, Republican leaders finally condemning Marjorie Green for her comments about Jews. They also did a little both sides terrorisms, you know. They also in the same Twitter tweets. They in the same breath, practically said, But Democrats are not supporting Israel and they're being anti Semitic. Who is this going to be? Ah, burden for Democrats down the road. Will they be seen as Antipas anti Semitic. Would you advise buying to do on this? The politics around. Those are tough because they are also changing younger that was watching Rahm Emanuel talk about this this weekend. Younger Democrats have only known Netanyahu as the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has inflamed The partisanship around eyes. Real policy. You know, Truth is most of my career..

Which is amazing, And the guy also was someone that you think he's a guitar legend, right? But he was really a piano drum guy. That's who he was in the 10 Greatest guitarist of altered It just shows you how talented he was that he started off with the piano on the drums and his brother, because no, no Take this guitar. But never able to read music. So it shows you the genius there and toward the end, the guy was still tryingto learn music, trying to learn how to play the oboe without training. He's doing it on his own. That's just different levels just so we will pay tribute to the late great Eddie Van Halen. And we'll play a game. The Van Halen game sometime later this hour. Think around 7 50 is the plan. So I'll embarrass myself myself look like a jackass again. Maybe that we'll see. Maybe know. Look as a kid from the South Side. Guys are making acquisitions and putting blocking moves in good point. You can't pick up a guy in your hamstrung for the rest of the dollar's going to give you a breakdown of what to be looking for. Today is the waiver wires open in fantasy. That's our fantasy segment like we keep saying instead of just doing You know who should I play here? Six guys, Give me two. Miller does a full hour that every Sunday morning here on ESPN, 1000 and Cap and hoodie. You're doing it on Fridays, right at Thursday's sorry. Thursday's What? Because, yeah, like 45 39 45 on Thursday in a little different twist, Meller Every Tuesday will break down the way everyone I came up with this And it's truly brave. Brilliant. The brainchild of John York Bitch I said, Listen, we can haven't do that Aunt there's O R. Because I had some injuries in the first week. I said, How about like eons? We could talk about what they should do. Because talking about what the hell I should do during the week to me, seems more important. And who the hell I should start? Yeah, I know. You're very right. I'm telling you, I have lost leagues mismanaging. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Yeah, you're right. It was managing on Sunday. Usually I do find that, and that's why this will be a valuable segments. This is the most valuable segment in sports radio history. Couple of the show announcements that talks in baseball, You're overselling it. This is the most important day in fancy, but I have a couple of other things to announce, including Big news, Yuriko that's going to make you and a lot of our listeners happy. I don't know. Not that big That's like I get this question that this time you're probably more than any other If it's not bourbon related on Twitter, right, when is Todd Furman on Todd Firm is going to back on Fridays? S O. That's fabulous title join us from Vegas on Friday, and the only other thing I wanted to say is that speaking of your brilliant ideas, you know, last year this baseball season was weird came together late at 60 games last year. We did the Chicago baseball player of the week and your co had the great idea to send out many leg lamps. And sure enough, the players embraced it. You saw it, you'd see them on the news being interviewed after a game like Jason Heyward be up in a result, or Jose Abreu, Uriel Moncada would be in their locker. Now they probably didn't know who the hell we are. That's fine. It's fine, but I can't work the locker rooms like the old days. No, not only that they don't want us in there club you don't want to, but I think they're appreciative of the leg lamps. I hope they kept them when they packed up last You could plug him in. They were there light the night lights. There's many Christmas story leg lamp night lights, and I thought it was wonderful gesture on our part would give these guys something way paid for those out of pocket, too. Did not a pocket. Yes, We have to do that again next year, and he paid for a model pocket. Randy will reimburse you. It's tough trying to throw a weight varmints event mints. That same time is put a few shekels out for that. I do think next baseball season. We should do that. We didn't do it this year. You know some budget constraints in such an age of Covina Cove it But I got to give our buddy Kyle brand in good morning football out of credit cause they've upped their game. Big time. You know, Kyle Brant does angry runs, which is a tradition on good morning. It does do that way, love. Kyle. He was a weekly guest last year. We still hope to talk to Kyle's at some point here in 2020, and that shows good. Kyle does angry runs. And I was tweeting about it this morning cause I had a moderately and it's such a great segment. He's got so much energy. I think that is his workout on Tuesday mornings. He's so energetic during angry runs, but do you know what they're doing now for the winner of angry runs? They're sending on aceptar. I know how we arrived at aceptar sector as Kyle does the segment. He's got this scepter in his hand. Aceptar says it a facsimile thereof. Or is it a natural step in and it looks to me like an actual sceptre? I don't know how much I really told each guy well, it's not gold. Okay. If you look at my Twitter timeline, and on my instagram Twitter is that Carmen to fellow Komai instead? Is that Carmen to Falco in the number five. You can see. I took a screenshot of college morning looking all crazy into the camera, and he's holding this scepter. And he does the whole segment with the scepter in his hand, and the winner gets it. Who's Who's the guy in? Why my blanking out his name? Miles? Sandor. Don't know the guy who won last week in Detroit. A truck that Jalen Johnson? Why am I forgetting the wipers? Marvin Jones Jones. Marvin Jones wanted last week for truck in Raylan Johnson, the rookie. And he tweeted out a picture. You know, two good morning football and Kyle. I mean, he had it's holding at the locker receptor. Tell what a professional players like free stuff We used to have these flex all 4 54 shirts. That the trainers would put in our locker rooms, everybody, we're well, they'd be interviewed us. We'd have flexible for 54 on the first thing Any radio shows should do is get T shirts and sent him to all the clubs because when they're working out, they'll have that shirt on, and they're being interviewed by a marquee and Greco back in the days when You know, people win covered sports. Now you can't do it right now. They have that shirt on, you send it free. They'll wear it because they love free stuff Advertising, So I think we should fire it up again. Next baseball season. The SEPTA ideas of brilliant one by Kyle will find something I don't know if will continue in the tradition of the leg lamp, and we picked the leg length because the idea was the player was winning a major alone major with Carmen and your co player, right. We need to bring that back for next year. Speaking of baseball There are all kinds of bias is right. You're there's recency bias There's outcome buys, right?.

"The imaging is clearly wrong as I've won the ESPN Chicago Fantasy League four times four consecutive years back to back to back to back take that Buffalo bills. Although we don't hand out rings for the office fantasy, What is the story there? I'll bring. I know it. Well, that we have a track trophy that we passed back and forth. But, yeah, we don't. We don't have the budget. You have to. So you say, Let's say you won last year, So you have to return Set trophy? Yes, that's the way it works when you're when you don't have the plush cash of the NFL to pony up for a Lombardi trophy year after year, you have just passed the trophy along in here. Okay, I guess the family little nameplate, though, Howard Jeff Miller. He's Howard Griffith, the two time Super Bowl champ. It is quite an impressive feat, even though the fullback is obsolete in today's NFL. It wasn't back when Howard was playing leading the way for Terrell Davis back in the late nineties, when the Broncos were dominating the gridiron again. I'm Jeff Miller. This is your post game show. We're going to be with you every Sunday or if it's I guess Thursday or Monday will be here with you for a two hour postgame. Show your opportunity to go ahead and tell us what you thought of the Bears game. Do you think that this is finally what Mitch needed? Is he finally going to become the answer for Matt, Maggie and Ryan Pace and the Bearsoffense or after what she saw? It was a tale of two halves in a lot of ways. Are you still concerned about what you saw in that first half? That leads you to think it's only a matter of time? Until we see Nick Foles is enough? There's enough on the table right now. There's enough there he still has to go and improve on For this to be consistent. Let's go back to the first hand. They still aren't able to score points. That would seem to be bad. That is a problem. You you're not going to be a championship team. If you can't score touchdowns and you're settling for field goals, then that is a recipe for disaster. Sure, you might be up 36 nothing, but it's not gonna matter. Your defense is as good as they are. And as good as they can be when they have all their players out there. You still have to put him in a situation where they can play with the league? Yeah, I mean, I look, I mentioned the Broncos exactly the 2015 Broncos for me that other bears blueprints for how they're actually going to try and win a Super Bowl This year. You need a dominant defense. But as you can see, a dominant defense is different than in the You know, the 85 bears. You can't play defense like you did back then. It's just the rules don't allow for it. Not only do the rules, but the schemes that you're playing again. Yeah, don't allow. No, you're every team's an 11 personal more than any other other form. Ation these days, and then you can go spread you. I mean, you look at the what the Cardinals are doing like it's across the across the league. It's very difficult to shut teams down the way you once did. You're going to your offense to get you. 2022 points a game. If you're goingto win, go deep and make a playoff run, and I don't know if the Bears are going to be able to do that again. Knowledge here. We'll let you hear from what the Fox halftime crew had to say at half time breaking down Mitch Robiskie when it felt like things were going in the wrong direction. He's under a lot of president that Nick Foles breathing.

"You, Theo Epstein. Thank you. Chug are fine. Thank you. Jeff Miller, Jr Strauss. Danny's Letterman. Jay had a lot of fun today, man. Absolutely. Let's do this tomorrow. Around seven o'clock. Yeah. Get here by probably then. Okay, Let's do this again. 7 to 10 7 that we welcome Carmen and your go to the show. Hello, morning, morning up. What we doing? Great. How are you? What's going on, guys? The Hawks. They're back right back in the mix. Now Roy Crawford comes through big time stands on his head. Here we go Tuesday. It's playoff hockey. Isn't it? Like the Blackhawks had no business winning that game? None. They played much better in Game night shot attempt or Vegas 90. It's crazy. I mean, they played much better in Game three. They had a great first period in Game three. They were losing one. Nothing last night. They get absolutely smacked around. Basically up and down the ice all night by Vegas, and they win. If there's no rhyme or reason, sometimes, too. That's why Goli can matter and crow was great, but you can't expect to play like that or continue to play like that, with Syria's not down. It's impossible to give up all those shot attempts again. You're going to get beat 62 please. There's no way Maybe there's a turnaround here but also makes me it makes me think about this, though Carm also is but You know, I thought that letter was going to be the next guy after Crawford and course. Now he's with Vegas. But it's like Leonard would be a really solid gold dinner for the Hawks. For the next five years. I would think, but now he would Vegas and I don't know what the next step is after Crawford. I don't know either. I mean, 35 with you know some of the stuff that Happen off the ice. Some of the injuries like his greatest Korea's, and I'm a huge Corey Crawford guy. I like how much you're willing to pay Corey Crawford going forward. And what is your? What is your plan after this? I don't know. I mean, maybe they're thinking maybe they've got one. Maybe they cross that bridge. When they get to it. I think they're going to get there. Unfortunately, pretty quick. It might be after tomorrow night. Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of people thought that hood he bring in letter on a one year deal and see they end up trading when it looked like they were destined to miss the playoffs for the third consecutive year. And then all this craziness happened so Now, there, there. Still there still kind of in a predicament with what they're going to do with their goalie's suggestions of a hometown discount that quarter. Crawford is going to be willing to give the Chicago Blackhawks maybe that. I mean, I don't know. Maybe. I mean he'd have to, wouldn't he? I mean, You're not going to reset court Crawford at five or $6 million a year, are you? Well, well, here's what I'm looking at. Maybe after this Siri's, however it ends. You're probably going to be the victim's skull. Tonight's winning You figure out what your roster is. You know what your core is with cane and saves. You gotta think about what your core is. And if your core is without Crawford, you know, then maybe you make the change there or the hometown discount while you're making that transition as a team head coach, some of the players That very well could be the case, too, right? Get ready for the calendar. Delia era gentlemen going next year. Malcolm Suban. I don't know what a careful now Korea be back. That's that's my guy is your guy. How about the floor E. The Flower York What you say are gone Gray. Yes, Marc Andre. Which would you say, Hall of Fame or no? Oh, I think he's got a couple Stanley Cups under his belt Three. I think. Right, Carm. Well, what's the young kid matter? By blinking memory? A memory played in one of those he want to. I mean, he was the primary going for two of those with Burgo. Yeah. He's got another team and he took another and he took it to help take an expansion team to a cup. It's pretty impressive. I saw his press conference. He didn't look very happy that he's got to be the backup. Toh enrages. You just kind of shrug his shoulders, But that guy's guys many Playoff wins. I think Ken Dryden, does he really? Yes, he does. Just tied him with that last victory. Gino Maria believe more opportunities for flowers. Pick. Yeah, I did not know He is the number one pick three. You ever see the Cam Barker in that one? Yeah, That's right. You ever see the sample? You ever see the sound bite of here? I should say to somebody getting milk and talking about Marc Andre Fleury is 300 win. No, it's it's It's priceless matter of Jericho. You remember right? Afghani Milken was Busting his chops, saying, I can't believe he's won 300. I don't think he's every time I score on him in practice, I say to myself, he's not that good. Somebody went through hundreds. It was his teammate. It's phenomenal. It's like such it's so good, old fashioned classic like ball buster, and it is so great. Milk, and you could barely make out what he's saying. Anyway. Could you get that? I've got to pull that up. Oh, it's hilarious, but I don't know how he went 300 games. It's a guy's teammate. It's so class. How about the Rickey Henderson story? Where he gets traded to Seattle. Yeah, this has been this has been debunked for years. It's true. That's what I've heard. It's been debunked for many years. I've heard it was okay that I set it up. Go ahead, Rickey Henderson. Plays with the Mets. He's over in Seattle. He walks up to first day at the cage walks up, John or he goes, Dude, I play with a guy looked just like you with the helmet on in New York, and he goes Hey, idiot! That was me. We were teammates in New York. Yeah, Being Ricky, the other one that I know is true because it was confirmed by people in Oakland. They gave a $1,000,000 bonus when he broke the stolen base record. Like three weeks later, they presented in the Czech. He framed it. Well, I know the check hasn't cleared the bank it. Oh, it's on my wall to get it out. Afraid maybe let Ricky has enough money at that point. Maybe he thought it was cool just to have a $1,000,000 checking in on his wall. He this was before direct deposit. So this is this is what you're missing. You're missing the characters of the game. You don't get a John your catfish anymore. Being followed by Sports Illustrated a conversation a nice 30 minute piece from a thing that has ever happened. That was has never been followed by sports. Remember Don Moreira. Following was the NFL network popular mechanics may I don't think you know there was a nice piece. That was that was on your 30 minutes. American outdoor. I saw it on the NFL network. I saw it a little funny thing going with one of the comedians. It was Don Moreira. Great. It was gonna remember him Better night it. I love it. It was great. You don't have the personality profiles anymore, like they did with a year ago that it's true and they did a couple of those where they brought comedians out. We did a couple of handful of things. So they go. Who's the funny one? They always pointed to me so I'd have to stay after practice and filmed us with comedian knowing I've got meetings coming up in 20 minutes, Barely gonna be able to get wet in the shower and my feet definitely won't get wet because I always had a front porch. Yes, that would be problematic. Yes, very familiar with that, But I do it because they've asked me to. It's never lead to the big comedy career. Thought I was gonna know you're on the air. Got a pretty good comedy Saddle with Carmen to fell. Got saddled with you, You Big D. "So yesterday morning I came in here with Jeff Miller, and we have the numbers that they had released. 31 MLB players and seven staff members have tested positive. That was 1.2% of everybody that attested, which is good numbers, just really what we're dealing with, right, which is really good that they be considered positivity numbers, right. Okay, so That was before we heard that the Yankees have had a couple of including D. J. Lo Mayhew and the Braves have had four unless they were included before in this number, and they were just releasing. We don't know where we don't know what it was, but that's actually we have two on the White Sox says to members of the White Sox have tested positive there, asymptomatic. There'll be self quarantine here in Chicago, but we looked after and we'll see how things go. Again. You can release their names. If they agree and say, Go ahead. That's fine. Allegedly at this point, they have not right. They're nameless, right? They have said. They said they would rather not have their names out there. So my question is you want to jump in 3123323776 I wasn't excited that everything came together that it was excited. They're supposed to release the schedule tomorrow. For all the baseball they're supposed to release it tomorrow, which is great. It's about time who's playing who, when plus, I keep seeing people say that The Cubs and Saxon is a possibility that comes attacks could be in the same division Now. I don't think that's right. But I don't know that it's not because they had originally been talk that since the East is only gonna play the east of the West is going to play the West Central Place Central, they would just have three separate divisions. But now that they know they're not having the playoffs and the expanded playoffs, I don't think that's gonna happen will be an American League East and American League West National League East National League West, But I'm waiting to see what they're going to do, and hopefully they don't do anything stupid. And have the Cubs play the White Sox six times because, they said, the scheduling is so easy. You're playing each year division rivals 10 times That's 40 Ames. There's five teams in the other division You play each 14 times that's 20 more than 60 games. How simple could it be? There's no reason for them to jump through hoops. They have the White Sox play the Cubs six times and then have 14 games to split amongst four teams because then you would play. Okay, well, this doesn't work out. No, it's it's silly. Why would they do that? And then they said, Well, we want those rivalries. Okay, well, who's the Who's the Kansas? I mean, who's the Who's the Minnesota Twins rival in the other divisions in what the pirates? Any sense, so I don't know what we have seen. The schedule will come out tomorrow. Guys will be talking about it here on ESPN 1000 But we talked about Buster only and Buster only from ESPN came out. About A little more than a week ago, he said. I think there's a 5% chance they start the season if there was a 0% chance of the season that the season finishes because people get start testing positive things were gonna happen. James things, games have to be canceled. He updated it just a little bit the other day. That percentage in confidence that you feel like we're going to crown, a World Series champion is at what now 20% that they start the season 0% that they get through it still 0% that they could do so I think there's just so many complications is one executive said to me this week. The whole thing is Swiss cheese, And there's so many holes through which it could fall apart. Obviously is the first time I heard that I thought he had.

"Friday in the city of Chicago and I am Jeff Miller in for still be today second I'm I'm I think I'm doing my last show from home from J. Y. it is I thought we never I get you back in studio again you sure you want to commit to coming back every day we haven't gone back to the boss's office and said you don't want me in there yet have you I have never gone back to the office the dollar well I mean like did you block off the path between Mike Thomas's office in Miller's office so that he couldn't get back there now Mike usually comes to him and ask him that okay is well be in on Monday but Jeff won't Jeff is off yes I I heard that one was coming back in so just to give myself a little bit extra distance I said you know what that's a perfect day for me to take the day out of line you know that and the fact that it's my kids birth itself okay that's a good I would hang out with them but it is a glorious day the weather after just a hideous may we've had some we've had some good weather and it's nice to be sitting in my office and looking out the window and seeing the sun shines so so I am in for silly today second round of chemo for him obviously we're all still be strong with him check out that wore the shirts while in support of still all today for it was the perfect day to bust it out again get yours at the obvious shirts dot com all the proceeds go to the Jimmy V. foundation to help the fight against cancer so go check them out we obviously appreciate the support from I mean I think it's yeah I think over twenty five grand is already been raised I feel like we can more common yeah I feel like we're going to bump that up quite a bit over the next couple weeks as well so soldier I they were selling like hot hot cakes from day one and I think they continue to I wore mine yesterday so today just have a culture so in in the honor of the the the golf tournament that's going on how's that says shaping high it's going well Herald withdrawal of order the third is your leader at eleven under par shot a sixty six today around two I believe Jordan speed has also finish the date he's at ten under par I think is one one behind Harold Varner the third so but golf is golf on television is good my friend in fact I was even watching before the live action began I was watch watch couple horse races had no money on the on the on any of them but I was watching them because I enjoy watching horse racing and then I was watching Ben Hogan a kind of a documentary on Ben Hogan so it's nice day already a full little a day for you there yeah I mean look golf seems to be the only thing that doesn't have me down right now you know I've been I've been the self appointed positive guy on the show right like you have been the guy with the dark cloud hanging over him you're right a lot of detail page right about a lot of that I am not the E. or of the show but I have used to acknowledge that okay another poll I was named biggest tool who's the E. or of the show the Toyota Twitter Paul I was I was preaching positivity that we're I don't know if I win my bet was silly because I think we had a bet that there would be some professional game played before July first why when that because the golf golf got back to work it's a fair question I I feel like it had to be team sports I thought teams were MLS is when the LS what is MLS going to be back up is it and what it after three in July first was the date that have to be in the United States with the caveat that I I don't know I don't recall I mean look I'm not a weasel out of the bag yeah I know you you've always been a guy who is playing July eight so close so I don't know like I it's it was a small better than it was twenty Bucks but anyway I have felt like I have tried to bring a positivity about sports coming back whether or not that's realistic I don't know I always put the disclaimer on there that look things could change quickly and drastically based on how this pandemic progresses but I've had quite a good sports buzz on for awhile and now I feel like somebody took their hose out is within all over it because of Major League Baseball has failed to come to terms on because of what the NBA players say yeah poured some cold cold water I know now that I might it always in it we had all over your optimism no end and because of what you know we discussed quite a bit yesterday with with Patrick Kane it in like these are all legitimate concerns don't get me wrong I'm not point the finger at the players and go how dare you I get with some of the NBA players are talking about I get what Caner is talking about I don't really understand why Major League Baseball can't get on the same page I kind of understand most of it but I it's not acceptable in a lot of ways I'm telling you I said you guys at the at the at the at the the the pre show audio fist fight I had one of my buddies Dave chamberlain said to me about three or four weeks ago he said how you doing I got how good I mean sports is you know come back sooner or later he goes yeah I'm hanging in there as well he said to me though it'll all be okay even if things go away as long as football starts but if football doesn't start things are going to go side ways people are going to be more than a little agitated and things may get a little restless and I'm starting to think that football's gonna ride in in actually save the day here boy I hope so but let's well let's hope that we still have hockey playoffs and NBA playoffs but as you said the optimism is waning a bit because of what we heard not just from Patrick Kane yesterday but today we see reports that well first of all Melcombe Brogdon was the first NBA player who I heard talk about this publicly I'm J. J. Redick's podcast yesterday talking about there's some players who are concerned about the idea of coming back to this bubble city in Disney for multiple reasons we've got you know health risks related to corona virus you've also got you know the current black lives matter matter movement across the nation and some players wondering if it would be a bad look for them to return.

"Got a chance to watch a little video here Jeff Miller yeah where is this a north face outlet store Kenosha yeah can OSHA the pleasant prairie out all in all so many dudes like what in there and just David this was like a mess throw down yeah I was like a flash mob I think six or seven of them went in there I'm just gonna sit bunch animals ran into the store grab as many items as they could and ran back out and took off and like some very different cars so yeah hit northeast for quite a bit of money thirty thousand dollars I think that's nice yeah and and somehow some way a lot of people you know say that well this is you know it's justifiable no it's not well it's there and I I just you know let's take a ride down the Chicago show we I I don't was didn't want to get into this today I always like say you do you're at a point of no return and Jeff and I were talking during the break about the north face robbery actually was a burglar because they didn't intimidate or a display of firearms of or anything at that get a certain anybody so there's a difference I know that yeah yeah you're going to be used to physical force the New York state people call that's what I use of physical force and I I a if there's a weapon displayed in there is a victim a personal victim within there in the store or the residents and that there is a threat that's a robbery it automatically goes to rob well but I noticed something I I'm noticing something today within the media there's really not a lot of discussion about thirty shootings in one day in Chicago now it's it's like they're trying they're doing their best to run away from it there if they're doing their best to was say if we just pretend it didn't happen we won't have to talk about it at what point do you say we were in deep trouble here at what point do you say it's over and we have to bring back what's called the night stick we have to bring back what's called policing certain high crime areas and call them such we have to bring back immediate enforcement no I know they'll be a debate about this and I I could certainly understand that there are some legal realities involved and by the way yeah just to let you know that president trump of beside the miss rap and I was attacking and congratulates today the World Cup team and the American team for their World Cup one cell at the good for him we did the right thing and yeah it but it does anybody know not want to get serious about Chicago because things have to change the the approach to policing has to change and not everybody's jussie Smollett and could tell a pathological liar filthy liar degenerate life and and get away with it for awhile but now that's been blown out of the one of the guys at the guy's a degenerate and that he might now finally be looking at some charges special prosecutors involve the number every day you know showing the real true coverage that they have the running away from this left and right you have to you cannot police an area that has had no assaults no robberies no shootings no stabbings a you can't police that the same way and that's what a lot of the the big mouths and the community activists started back you need to police us the same way no you don't if I'm driving down your block between a Friday at a Friday night and a and then Monday morning and I come up with thirty shootings in one location or or or a vicinity I guess what that needs special policing that means no you don't stand on the corner no you don't just assemble in the corner that's over now no you don't get to sit in front of the building no you don't get to chat it up with the forty yards in your bag anymore you don't get to assemble at a certain school yard that's over now.

"Foul go, John you're vich daddy's that Herman Jeff Miller. Dala Randy merkin while we got a whole crew. The village. Old navy model today the cast. Seven. I like that seven dollars shirt you're wearing today. Kid looks good on you. Do you think Mark or Merk that Harrison by the time you go, but I'm just kicked the high road Murray? Mark you need a haircut. Lululemon the you know what? Michelle Obama say when they go low you go. Hi, Mark you need a haircut kid. He only gets one every three months and unique the back of the neck needs a weed whacker. No. It's it's good that connects find you need to cut and color is no funk with to caller. At least. I got my here. True. You've got here. It is what it is here to talk about my hair, though, told me these questions Catholic Yukon for these aren't the questions call. All the talk. Our that is such a great good. Very good. I gave one yesterday and dinning pick up on it. A few good men personnel's. Oh, I miss it. Something women rocky. I on it. Was Mick pet shop waken leg. Shop the fast greasy. I tell you in machine. Yeah. You're going to eat lightning. The vast. So that's was when he had to beg him to get back in who said it, maybe you're or somebody said, and maybe I read it somewhere. I think the great John you're which may have said that wouldn't even make a movie like rocky right made why because it's slow too slow. There's not Spiderman door wouldn't even make rocky today's millennial minutes, they'd be out the door. It's pathetic. So good. Everything's gotta be superhero. This in that. It's good. It's good for the stock price. Don't get me wrong. You're said it's fatty saw vengeance. My God fantastic. They don't make them like that anymore. They've never even make rocky. So you're saying that I should go tonight to see the event if that's something you're interested in you should go. I've seen of the twenty one movies that were released. I probably saw twenty maybe nineteen of fees and this one was good. I enjoyed this one your top notch top notch. Got home at one thirty five last night. It was top notch. But after go see it, it's not. I'm going to see tonight at seven thirty. How about a fresh? He's eating it again. It was my daughter. I'm going I've already planned on senior with her. So tonight, I'm going with her seven thirty show. White Sox made announcement this morning. CF aid urban center that was probably, you know, inevitable. Right. Terrible over has been much better. But I mean, they took a I think they gave Santana just a minor league deal when they first sign ten thirty six was two with the nine Forty-five year a giving up fourteen runs at thirteen and a third innings pitched with a one eighty eight whip over three starts for the White Sox. Eloy Jimenez has been activated from the bereavement who's on the bereavement list. He'll be back right now. Yeah. Santana's like two seasons removed from what a top five finish. I bet in the American League or check checkmark a couple years ago in Minnesota Johan's. He's definitely had. He won a couple of them. Yes. He was phenomenal. That guy was great no Rubinsohn Tannock two years ago. Minnesota was terrific. Then he got hurt. He he broke a finger or something. And he hasn't been right since I bet you top five top sevens. Right. Jeff mellows in there. And I remember. He would he had a lot of wind two to three years ago. We had a great year eighteen nineteen wins. Yes. Something like that. Maybe wasn't the top five and Syam, but he had a really good year. But he was here. Five Johann was beautiful about dominant. That guy was from about two thousand one two or three to two thousand ten that guy was something because of one start his career ended. Yeah. He got hurt. He threw a no hitter. But he threw a hundred and something right? And then he got hurt after that. I thought he was never the same after that game. Yeah. The way it was with the Mets at the time. I think right Merck. Yeah. But Santana's been brutal von Nova hasn't been much better. Terrible. They they can't pitch the White Sox. If they just their starting pitching is not good. Records. Woeful your baseball savant at a White Sox fan phone rings. And Rick cons office. Rick. It's the'll. Hey, look, I got a guy here who wants to start. Hi, I'm going to move them. Hi, what might Montgomery? He's got this year. Two more years of control. I want column me. No. Might think about that. What does that mean columnists good? But I mean, you really gonna help the White Sox radio. I'm giving you three or starting pitcher. He's four four or five best. If you if you're spinning column near the deadline, you probably want to younger, probably it might be able to find who you have under control for you might even be able to get a prospect that Jeff said, a young controllable prospect that you're not an eight prospect, probably be prospecting. I want a good prospects. I'm Rick con. For colony for column. Yeah. That's not happening by the White Sox. Wouldn't do that the cubs? Why Schwimmer's crap right now what part of crappy Warburton get colonies, not like, you just got fish. Pary is an albatross upon the Chicago Cubs lineup right now. You can't argue that not very no arguing that chore is crap right now arguing go ahead idea. He's not very good. I don't disagree. But you're not. Percent of what he wants was ten percent of what he wants, what's you're lucky if you get a diamond dollar forever. Trying him to the White Sox in small watch him ball up her for college. They're going to blow up you'll be lucky. If you get the two thirty two thirty three hundred guy three twenty eight I thought he was Babe Ruth. Well, you know, that's what they said. She get if you get Adam Dunn, you should be happy and cub fans in it like that. Water out to Adam Dunn right now. No, he couldn't he couldn't put his Shammy on Adam Dunn's glove right now as play wherever I don't think. So for baby action. It's the closest thing resemble if you're the cubs, don't you just try to still salvage whatever you cannot Schwaiger mean what could what's the point of them? Now, it is what it right? I mean, they let's not pretend Schwab is that much more valuable than column, then that's all I'm asking. I don't think I would. I mean me if he pitches. Well, we'll have value. I think especially for a contending team that needs another bullpen arm. I mean, he the you're talking about a closer versus the guy who ideally could play in your lineup for five days a week. So there's always that part of the equation column could be sought after piece at least the American League where you can do what he does best nets. Enter and then be a spot starter in the outfield and left field. Everyone's although I'll give him this is a better outfit. Whoever thought he'd be a better outfielder than hitter. Yeah. I. Trainwreck as fuel the right now. I I did see something. So like when I say, you cut fan should be thankful that or should just hope that you've ever get anything close to Adam Dunn. I'll say this. I hope below Jimenez like Christians become shorter as outfielder. Is lost out there. This story. I ran into the talk to the great John Greenberg. The other day from the athletic. Oh know who the hell is great, John John? But who's the great? He is at his Seder last Friday night. He said all of a sudden the exact, well, you know, your stuff he said the door opens, and it was not alive. Knows Dave MacKay the coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Really first base coach of the diamondback. What was he doing the Seder that John was at that guy's friends that day McKay? So after the cubs Arizona game, he said, Dave MacKay came in and was telling stories and said, you know, if you go back to win date. Mckay was here. He said sore Yano should have won the gold glove because if you go back and look at the numbers Soriyawewa it from an absolute butcher in the outfield to a really good player. And he said Soriano came up to him and said, oh my God. I'm so much better defensively. How much do I owe you I'll pay you? And he goes I worked my. But I do he's like, no, I gotta write you a check how much joy, I can't take your money. I don't know about ever being a goal Glover, but three Soriano head which former head to head the great army the infielders arm. They guys wanted to test them, and they thought well, he's he's a bad outfielder. And I mean Soriano through guys out constantly. Why do they keep running on them? I I don't know that he was ever going to be confused with the gold Glover out there taking the proper angles all the time. He seemed to have a little bit of issue at the wall out there and a lot of players do that's brick behind that. I mean, I get it. It's easy to talk tough. But that I've seen any kind of padding. I'm sorry. So I mean, I'm in the clubhouse one day when cliff Floyd was playing here. And I said, hey, now's a helluva catch you made against the wall. And he goes never again. And I go what do you mean? He goes to Juno that they put the Ivy up with gardening nails. And I said house, do you think there's snails rattled into the vines? He goes I went back to my head. And I felt so going to my skull. He goes, I put my hands blood all over it. He goes the nail would into my head. I don't blame. I don't blame guys for not going into that wall. I gotta be honest with you ain't penny. There's no padding. It's the IV and bricks in males. Former cub who said I won't padding on the wall. My guy a former cups of many years ago many years ago. Mid eighties. He's now in jail. Yes. I heard jail. Oh my gosh. Well, he was right. You're keeping up on those former cubs in jail. I'll tell you that. But Schwartz turned into a pretty good defensive player. He's a better defensive player that an offensive player. Nobody in a million years would have ever said to you in the World Series. Hey, guess what? Get right there just got that big hit. We almost made Waddell for grant. When he bet on them for a Homer in game one. He's going to be a better defensive player than offense. Never. I mean, you make a prediction. -cation because he's a good athlete. He played out there. The more comfortable he was becoming and he's still got a rocket for an art. That's what I'm saying. I'm just hoping Illinois gets to be like almost as good defensively as for. I think it'll be much better off about Hilo. He's not good out there. Yeah. Pitiful. I I think that was the that was the rap on him your futures game. He made that spectacular over the wall in foul territory. In San Diego. At Petco, everyone that guy's amazing. They're all gonna make some of those. There's still big leaguers. I mean, you know, every once in a while they're all gonna make one of those plays. They're going to take a home run away or but on an ever like game in and game out. It's an adventure right now. Get better I mean because this is his craft. This is his job. Maybe he will have to work with them. You can get better, but it's ugly. What do you think about the signing of Devo Swinney for ninety three million? I think it's good for Clemson look for him. God bless Devo. I mean, that's nice for him. If he can get it. He's been great for them. I mean, look what he's assistant coaches feel a little trickle down theory there. You know, what they're saying? Three million right? Listen,.
