Pretty much stuff was going to be moved international or jumped on operator. So i'd started through my resume out there interviewed with marathon murphy and then i was talking to an old boss. Halpern bob moon. Indonesia and in the marathon job popped up and decided to go for that kind of it worked out well because the connections made in house. You actually interviewed a marathon. One of the managers time said oh. I don't i don't need him. he's good things he knew. What was it like do get accepting that a that offer from an operator even at the service for so long. So i was more nervous about the quitting side accepting Because albert had been good to me inadequate experience there and manage time early liked him at ten respect for him. He was actually in lafayette. I was in houston so we don't even in the same city. So i wanted to do it face to face. I'm having to do it over the phone. Just because we're never in saint spot time wise.

Having him on a rookie deal is going to be a huge advantage for the Bears in years, 23 and four where they can hopefully surround him with some elite talent land some free agents who maybe want to come and play with Justin Fields while he's on the rookie deal. That's the real value of having a good young quarterback on your tears. Of course, it opens up so many possibilities on the financial side. "Yeah. Um So, look, they have a ton of talent here. They've had a ton of guys step up who you didn't even, you know, expect to be in their plans this year to help fill for injured guys. No. That Tim Anderson thing is a little disconcerting, because, uh, you know, I know it's kind of like, you know, he go. We go because there are 500 team when he's not in the lineup. But Louis Roberts just coming on now being healthy, he's you know, looking every bit the part of being a franchise type player. Lawyers had you know he punishes the baseball. Still, Gray was Player of the month. I mean up and down. It's almost CEOs spoiled for choice of of, you know who's your best guy on the team right now is each guy has taken a turn. But In the playoffs. It's a different deal, and it's against teams with winning records, and I've been harping on this for two or three months now. Whites actually only division leading team playoff game right now, with a losing record against winning tapes and that that's got to change, and you don't have a whole lot of time to change that. But at least the mindset has to Sense of urgency has to change when you face the playoff caliber teams to prove you belong, yes, and to add fuel to that, like again. I'm hopeful that Tim Anderson will have an opportunity once you know his injured list. You know the hamstring. I think that's that was more, You know, precautionary, they figured Like you mentioned the 10 game lead gave them the love luxury. Sure to go ahead and sit him and I was actually happy. They did that because I was also discussing with Carmen. Why would you When you have this huge lead? Why would you play around with a day off here? Three days off, Then you play him again. It's Miller time and wing time and you'll see Sylvie was and grill big face full of wings all over his face for four hours during the whole show. You thought they were setting this thing up to go to a couple more times to the World Series. The biggest mistake they made wasn't necessarily this trade. It was not trading for Verlander. That was the one sort of there to me. There have been two crossroad moments for the Cubs. Oh, I know what they are. Can I guess the other one. The other one is not resigning. Nicholas Castan, right? When they were faced with the dilemma of Hey, Verlander wants to be a cub. I think he was struggling that year with a five e r A. "Ah, year after George Floyd's murder. The Senate still hasn't taken up a police reform bill, named after him and passed by the House and Congress is still locked in heated negotiations over and infrastructure Bill. Republicans say they'll send a counter offer to President Biden this week. And there's outrage over comments from Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene again and the lack of Republican response to them. Just to talk about with our political strategist this week. We have Jamal Simmons, the Democrat. Hi, Jamal. Hi. How are you? Good. And Alice Stewart, the Republican Hello to you as well. Hi, Robyn. Great to be with you. Good to hear and see or will not see, but be with you and I have to start with you, Alice. Once again, Marjorie Taylor Greene. Let me set this up. She compared Americans having to wear face masks to Jews having to wear what she called Gold stars. They were actually yellow and then she went on to say and getting in boxcars and going to gas chambers, she said. That's what we're facing. Nancy Pelosi's mask requirement in the House. She doubled down on that later. Ah Yellow Star actually marked Jews for ridicule and annihilation. A mask is to save lives. It took five days and the prodding of powerful GOP donor For any Republican leader to respond. The donor was Jeff Miller, he wrote of Green WTF is wrong with you. House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy condemned Greens comparison a few hours later, but just in a written statement, so there's no audio or video to be replayed. Alice Green is a favorite of Donald Trump. We know that Are Republicans. This afraid of Donald Trump? No and Robin. I'm glad to see whether it took five days. Isa question that baffles me, but I'm glad to see Republicans across the board giving a full throated. Condemnation of these appalling and quite idiotic statements, and she definitely needs to face consequences. And Robin as you say, Faith master about safety and protection. These yellow stars about stigmatization. And in advance of deportation for killing Jews and Marjorie Taylor. Greene not only needs to educate herself on this with regard to history, but she also needs to take a look back at how horrific these statements are. I have been to the Holocaust Museum in Israel. I have been to Auschwitz concentration camp and Birkenau. I have seen These gas chambers that she talks about with claw marks on the walls, people trying to claw their way out of these gas chambers. That is a far cry from what she experiences in the chambers of the U. S capitol. She needs to educate herself and she owes the Jewish people in apology, Gemma You know, I listened to this and I think about Congressman McCarthy, who? Kevin McCarthy, who It just seems in general. He's just a weak leader, you know, and I associate myself with dialysis remarks. But it seems in General McCarthy is just a weak leader because you know why can't he stand up to members of his caucus who are causing the rest of his caucus? So much trouble? And obviously there's the fear of what happens inside of some of the Republican primaries. You know, Nancy Pelosi has a pretty progressive wing of them. They're nothing like Taylor Green. But she's got a pretty progressive wing in her caucus that she seems to be pretty willing to stand up to and say, Hey, we're not going to do that. We're not for to fund please. I don't care how many times you say it. It just seems like McCarthy is not just not have the fortitude to be the leader and certainly not the speaker of the U. S house. Yeah, that's why are you able to say this? But it's not just McCarthy. It's all the top leaders in the GOP who finally made statements after five days. Why isn't she? You know, she was stripped of her committee membership. Why? Why can't they ban her? Well, look, they have done to this point What they can do as you say, removing her from our committee appointments, and I'm I commend them for finally denouncing her statements. But at the end of the day, it's her. People of her district that voted her into that spot, and it's those people that should certainly vote her out. But I think it's quite clear that Republicans have have made it abundantly known that this is not about the left attacking her anymore. This is anyone in the right mind who sees how atrocious her comments are and to be quite honest. What I'm hearing from a lot of Republican House colleagues of hers. Is that she needs to be more introspective herself and realize it. Is she herself a Republican. Should she be in this party? And should she find a new home because she certainly does not represent the views and values and thoughts of Republicans. Robin. One thing is they could they could vote. The Republican caucus couldn't vote her out of the conference. It would take two thirds of the Republican members to do it. It just doesn't seem like McCarthy has the votes and the support of his caucus. This bell hard to get her out of the Republican Conference. Well, and we just wait to hear what she'll say next, but meantime, Jamal, you mentioned your party. There's some debate within the Democratic Party. After the air war between Israel and Hamas. Over 500, former Democratic Party staffers signed a letter urging President Biden to hold Israel accountable. Now in what we were just discussing, you know, Republican leaders finally condemning Marjorie Green for her comments about Jews. They also did a little both sides terrorisms, you know. They also in the same Twitter tweets. They in the same breath, practically said, But Democrats are not supporting Israel and they're being anti Semitic. Who is this going to be? Ah, burden for Democrats down the road. Will they be seen as Antipas anti Semitic. Would you advise buying to do on this? The politics around. Those are tough because they are also changing younger that was watching Rahm Emanuel talk about this this weekend. Younger Democrats have only known Netanyahu as the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has inflamed The partisanship around eyes. Real policy. You know, Truth is most of my career..

We were in the bowels of the Super Bowl for in New Orleans for Rams Patriot Tom Brady's first And I, we ran up. That was right after 9 11. You too was playing and that was emotional. It was unbelievable. That's a good one. For every you're there, right. Every person that passed away 9 11 was on there. They were scrolling it on the screen, right? Yeah, it was then. Come I was in. I was sitting three on that line three seats away from Ice Cube and the Houston Super Bowl when the Patriots beat the Panthers Panthers 75 to 1 to win the Super Bowl four. That's how quick it was a great game and we were down in the bowels afterwards doing doing the post game, you know, getting all the people and All of a sudden, the NFL PR person comes by and gives us a press release about the Janet Jackson. Justin Timberlake. I'm like, Why do I care about the Super Bowl halftime? We do not. We know you guys have no idea. No idea. Then all of a sudden it became the biggest story than bigger than the game afterwards. So those were the two that that resonate with me. Very good. Miller. I enjoyed last year's J. Yeah, they can get to 24. I think so. Because I think that in this situation, I think that Robinson will be able to have more than five targets. Okay? And I believe that more than 37 yards and a couple of receptions as he had against the Packers. Okay, the defense for the Packers better than the Saints. Even those saints was top 10 in a number of categories. So I think 24 is doable. See, That's not my concern. My concern is the other side of the field. You mean where are vastly overrated defense is just allowing teams to move up and down the field unencumbered. Well, you know, at this point time, if you will are a someone that watches the bears and things You know, the Bears are good defensively, then you're just the numb nuts. Yeah, but you can't You can't overrate or even write. The Bears is being good defensively because we're not used to that, as bears fans were not used to seeing a defense. It looks like this so Now, you know, maybe last year, we could say for sure that bears team is overrated defensively because you start to see the holes. Now you see it all over the field, and I understand a lot of it is an aptitude and injury. And so a couple of guys missing, but that's my biggest concern. So 24 is the number but not for giving up 36. In the other end, Correct Now we're not facing Aaron Rodgers. We're facing a shadow of what Drew Brees used to be still a really good player. But he's not what he wants. But smart, though he's smart. He'll look at that Packers tape and say, Oh, wow, if they don't have real quant Smith in the mix, and we'll see how they all materializes. All right, if you don't have real Kwan Smith and you've got Josh Woods back there, or you've got Um, you've got a survey to one, a one against the wide receiver where we can exploit that match up. Exploit that no question. And then you're not having great safety help over the top and Duke Shelly or Kendall Ville door. You know Maggie's one in five against the Packers on four against Matt before Next week. He's going to go up against shopping was always too, you know, both the superior officer and one that coaches You know, and today's game really, really look like, you know, nag. Your fingerprint was all over because I know he and rapid port said he's impacted by calling and it's just really, really Yeah. Discouraging just to see what we saw today and after after you know what happens with the Saints, we can all agree that the long term success for this franchise It's just not set up properly, and I was certainly not let lion pace Make another choice with the you know another quarterback no matter who he decides to sign or draft because the Bears air drafting far below to get Lawrence Fields and Wilson at this point Sure. "You found Island Robinson a lot more. What looks to the Packers give you that made it more difficult for you to find out. Um, I think you're just the match ups and what we had in the plan for money to get the ball. I think early on. They were just giving us looks that We're Morrell vant a just to go to money than today, Rob, But I think our offense is at our best and when we're really doing well and in a rhythm and definitely when we're finishing down the red zone, it's 1. 12 is getting his hands on the ball. So we're gonna have to look at that, Um I wasn't aware of it early on that he wasn't touching the football, so you gotta have your best receiver definitely involved early, so that's something we could look at something we can improve that. But Mooney took advantage of his opportunities and made some big plays for us. But Way want 12 touching the bond. We know when everyone is touching the ball and offensive again to our playmakers. That's when we could be efficient and then be more deadly. But it's gonna be about Red's on such things going on. That was Mr Miss Too risky. So we will have another Sunday affair to break down after the Paris since game, which is a good thing you know, they get that extra day arrest as well. So it becomes a regular work week form and Hopefully they can die Aly in and be able to figure out exactly what game plan needs to be to go against the Saints because they're gonna have their hands full. And the one downside for the Bears. My start in rap report mentioned that this does give Alvin Kamara a chance to play if he's cleared off of the cove in 19 reserve list. Well, it is great that they're able to tow have an opportunity at the play offs. They've been able to do that, although it wasn't because of their own efforts. I thought that the Bears played really well early in this game, you know, things started to wane toward the end. But you know this isn't a bad team, but when they play against quality opponents, this is what we're going to see. This is what you're gonna get there, Not at that playoff level to me as far as the way they play the game. No, That's a great point. Because they did. They did come out early. Now we will. We will hit on a lot of different things throughout the show. But that first drive which could have could have actually Resulted in a in an oddity the way Cordell Patterson began the game, but fortunately it plays out well, they go go down, score early and do exactly what you need to do against Aaron Rodgers in most cases and taken early lead.
