Climate Change Is A Top Campaign Issue At Least For Democrats
"This year climate change is a top campaign issue at least for Democrats. Yesterday, we looked at president trump's record. On the issue today, we'll explore toe Biden's plan, which is the most ambitious climate proposal. Any presidential candidate has ever laid out. We've got NPR's Nathan rods and NPR's Jeff Brady both of our climate team with us. Hi, guys good morning. So. Let's just the obviously our Joe Biden and Donald Trump do not exactly agree on climate? Change. Absolutely yeah I think that's a fair way to put it. President trump repeatedly rejects climate science and generally he depicts regulations to address climate. Change is bad for the economy and bad for jobs Joe Biden calls climate change existential threat to our health, our economy, our national security, the whole thing but he's also trying to frame it right now as an opportunity you know when? Donald. Trump thinks about climate change he thinks hoax. When I think about I think jobs. Good paying union opposite put. To work. Building a stronger more. Climate resilient nation I mean nate. That sounds great. But has he laid out a plan for how he would actually make that happen. Yes, and it is a lot Hewitt invest money for one climate. Change is part of his economic recovery plan for the pandemic. But he's also says he'll do executive actions right? Other Gate. He says he's GONNA re enter the Paris climate agreement and put the US back in the global climate conversation He's talking about conserving land for biodiversity stopping offshore drilling in the Arctic. Methane from existing oil and gas tell me when you want me to stop. But he's also putting money towards climate adaptation measures to make communities more resilient to sea level rise flooding hurricanes fires. You know the type of things we've experienced over the last few months and he's also promising massive investments in green energy and infrastructure. This is where the. Jobs part of what he's promising comes in. So that means more solar more wind high speed rail, electric car chargers all with the goal of zeroing out carbon pollution from our electrical sector by twenty, thirty five and making the country carbon neutral. So it's contributing anymore to climate change by twenty fifty. And I mean I know a lot of campaigns I mean the rhetoric is aspirational, right but even so I mean by twenty fifty shifting the entire US economy to be carbon neutral to sounds like a massive undertaking is he going to be able to accomplish that Jeff? You know most of the experts I've talked with thinking is possible. The plan includes a lot of executive actions. The Biden says, he would take right away some of the nature mentioned. It also this plan requires new laws passed by Congress to create policies for meeting that overall goal. Now, that's going to require a democratic majority in the Senate most likely I talked with Scott Siegel. He's a partner with the law firm Bracewell, which represents a lot of energy clients including fossil fuel companies, and you can imagine that they have a lot at stake care. He thinks guidance climate plan is realistic. He says, it includes both regulations and incentives for people. In Industries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and I think when a plan has both and doesn't rely only on the carrot or the stick, it's a sign of maturity in approaching these issues. Siegel likes that it leaves room for some fossil fuels with carbon offsets and capture, and he points out that the electric power sector is already on its way to meeting that interim 2035 call some of those companies in utilities are setting net zero carbon goals all on their own. Yeah, and that's an important point. I talked to Karl Frisch who worked at the US Department of Energy under three administrations including trump's she's now at the Rocky Mountain Institute you know and I asked her if she thinks it could all be done by Biden alone if he gets elected. No. So to get where we need to go on climate in the United States to reduce emissions and build a sustainable economy, it takes action by the executive branch action by Congress. And action by state leaders, city leaders, business leaders on the ground, and she says, you know a lot of these actions are already happening at the local level. So a Biden administration would be smart to try to build on that existing momentum. So something we hear president trump attack Joe Biden on a lot is fracking fracking for natural gas. The president alleging that Joe Biden wants to ban it. Let's just clear this up Jeff Does Joe Biden WanNa. Ban fracking. No, he doesn't want to ban fracking. He has repeatedly said that he would not ban all fracking just new fracking on federal land and when trump says that it's aimed at voters and energy producing swing states like Pennsylvania, which actually has very little federal land but that's still a point of contention for for Biden, with mini climate activists who say the country should stop all fracking and keep all fossil fuels in the ground to slow climate change. So. What about the politics of climate change you know I mean we know what the facts are that it is happening that humans have contributed to it as well. But what about the politics of climate change because we know for Republicans it's an incredibly divisive issue where do Democrats stand on Biden's proposals? Well, polling indicates a majority of registered voters in the US view climate change as a real threat to the country, and when you look at Republicans climate change is actually a lot less divisive you get. But in terms of Democrats a recent poll by Pew found that more than two-thirds of Joe Biden supporters sit climate change is very important to them. So Biden's. Plan is not as ambitious as what some Progressive Democrats want to see it is not the green new deal despite what the president repeatedly says, but it is more ambitious than what Joe Biden had initially proposed. So for example, his plan now includes an environmental justice component which would aim to address the fact that people of color are disproportionately affected by pollution climate change and have been for a long time. His plan says he'd do that by investing in disadvantaged communities pulling polluters accountable I talked to Michelle Roberts with the Environmental Justice Health Alliance about this, and she has a long history with Biden because she's actually from Delaware, his home state and she says historically. Always overly supportive when it came to dealing with polluters like dupont over communities like hers he was a Filibuster for the political economy that was running the great state of Delaware. Does that make sense BA- Roberts says she's met with Biden since and she thinks his views have a she supports him but it's going to be important. She says if he's elected to hold them accountable all the things that he's promising to do now. NPR's nate wrought and NPR's Jeff. Brady, thank you for your reporting. Thank you. Thank

What to Do When Your Customer Says, Not yet
"Thanks so much for joining me today. Jeff. It's a pleasure. Thanks for having me very much. This. This'll be some fun. Yes, it will. It absolutely will sell. In your book. You'll about in one of your books you talk the idea of resistance a lot. And I love it if you would define that and talk about why. It's so important when dealing with foul. Sure. Is Important thing in dealing with a lot of different things but but I, I came across the term I was reading Stephen Press feels book the the war of art really fascinating, little book easy to read but very challenging and he it. The book is written for artists, painters, writers, people who deal with a writer's block painters block, and he uses this term resistance as almost as mythical force that's out to get us in its at that part of us. That's that's within that says boy that's uncomfortable for I don't WanNa do it and the resistance comes along and says, don't worry about you have to do this. It's not that that big a deal and the resistance is. So kind that even makes up an excuse as to why we shouldn't do it. We can feel better about ourselves and sleep at night. So so it it's really a a human problem. It's not certainly just in the sales world when when things are potentially uncomfortable, the resistance rears its ugly head and says not enough I. I got a better way for you don't do it at all. So that's that's I. If I'm going to ride on follow up, which is a skill that many sales professionals are not particularly good at and they find uncomfortable than I had to just hit what the source plot is and I think that's what the I think. That's right there resistance that sore spot. Okay. So I'm I'm curious about because I totally agree with you that sales your really bad a follow up. What why do they resist that? What is it about the follow up? That is so uncomfortable. You know that's a great. An important question because what we see here is that that's got to be rooted in something right and so what's going to happen is that we're going to look at it and we're going to think okay as a consumer when if people tried to call me and we are. Minds Amelie go to telemarketers right people are going to just do nothing but annoy me interrupt my my dinner hour. And suggesting to sales professionals don't be that person if you're annoying, you shouldn't be calling in the first place. So if you're not going to provide value in the service of some kind in the follow up the idea of calling in just saying just checking in seeing if you're ready to buy because I've got a you know visa payment coming up you're. Not doing that for them, you're doing that for you. So I think that that's where that that comes from that sense It's that fear of intrusion marketing and the fear of being not light but I would argue if you are adding value if you're legitimately adding value, there's nothing to be afraid of you're doing something that your customer will actually rather appreciate. It. So the planning process then is really really critical because otherwise you're going to do that. You know what? My Friend Art Subject Parole Officer follow up just checking in some yeah. Nobody likes that. Oh my gosh I I love this because I think. ITSEL so important for sales people to. Shift their thinking away from I have to sell you something to I need to learn about you. I need to find out what really matters to you, and then be helpful the ill. So that were building a relationship that makes sense where you want me around because I bring value to you. That that's right and I would broaden that I wouldn't just say to sales people I think any small business owner who's looking at an has the opportunity for you know somebody's thinking about buying something a product or service of any kind whatsoever just reaching out and letting them know you know I was thinking about you and I. I thought yet remembered this I wanted to send it along and have you considered that over here if you just stop brainstorm a little bit and ask what problems. My customers had the didn't even know they have. How can I solve problems that they don't even know they have right now talk about being valuable Linden and a a real trusted adviser. I. Think That's when you play that role when when you're solving problems that your customer doesn't you know they have. Well feels like then you really have to be listening pretty actively and without an agenda in order to be able to. Pick Up. On. What's really going on with them? Yeah and if you're not, then you're sorry you're not a good salesperson if you're if you're not listening and you. Yeah Okay I if your product is all about your product, you got a problem because ultimately your product is nothing more nothing less than the solution that's going to improve their life but it's about the customer not about your product and so if we look at it from that perspective you you you you're selling shovels. That's great. But what they really need is a hole. So why why do they need the whole? Let's figure that out first and then we'll determine whether the shovel is the right solution.
PlayStation 5 UI revealed: “Activity” shortcuts, picture-in-picture
"Christian. Spicer what is your story of the week? My story of the week is I wanNA, take a mental picture of right now where we are and I want to compare it to the end of this generation's life cycle because that is why I love you I the playstation five revealed issue I. Finally, thank you. We've seen a lot of the xboxes in the PS five has revealed. It's and the simplified kind of cleaner approach and showed off what can happen by pushing the PS bind on the controller and all the shortcuts, and so you don't need to go into the full home menu kind of get everything you need and. I think it's really slick looking for what I've seen I think it's you know until I go hand on with it I don't know how intuitive it is because there's always that line of like ad in featured and is the thing I want where I want it to be or not But what I'm super curious about is if or when it changes because that is one area where I feel like Microsoft has been very flexible over the years with the xbox one line of consoles and how much of that you I changed and as far as I can remember that ps four Cross media bar has kind of been what it is and I think they're not. Stars, I'm concerned. It's like it is because it it just is what it is. It's like this is my eighty. Corolla. It's great but the STO works. But it is. Yeah a little cumbersome in this I feel like the new one. I like what they're trying to do with it I think but Mario and Jeff I'm curious what your thoughts are on it from a user perspective. We'll let's just before we get into what we think about it. Let's just kind of. Summarize the. which is it's it's much more visual. Right? I mean the cross media bar has been text that comes up at the bottom of the screen and you move across it and pull things up and yeah there's a few images of games here or there but mostly it's it's a menu, right? It's a big long menu It's it looks to be the case that this new playstation five Ui. Is kind of using a card system that highlights what calling game play opportunities. It says, basically, this shows you can go back to things you missed, and so on it also shows that you can jump directly into levels or challenges that you WanNa plan certain games, and there's a new picture in picture feature that lets you view other parts of the game without leaving the screen or area you're currently in so Mario. Christians. Question is a good one. What do you make of it? What do you think is the more visual thing better or is it just more for the sake of more? It's funny because this whole week I have nothing but wanting to see what this you I was, and then of course, in one random day, it just dropped and then we got the state of play for it. So I'm so excited to actually to actually see, and then what I saw was a card game. Much and you know what? I love me some Card Games, the Simpsons Card Games still on my favorite games, I've ever played my life by all about card games. Exactly. But when it came to what I saw. At first I was like, yeah, I'm excited for new stuff but ultimately when it came to cards. My feeling was I just even though they're trying to look try to clean up some stuff with the lower bar with the audio function. Oda Audio functions. But when he got to the cards, things it just to me just look like more of a cluttered mess and I was terrified by it. Now granted majority of those were like it looked like for trophies in terms of percentages and stuff like that, which could lead into more information pilot complete those things that's all well and good. But then there's obviously the developer. Notes on the left where I I mean. I'll be honest I don't read any of those messages that come up when I look at my ps four and so for it to be there, I'm just hoping that there is going to be more customisation terms of how I want it to be in terms of removing certain things and just focusing on certain areas. That's just my. Take of it because every year I felt like my love for the PS four Ui had waned especially up to now where I feel like it is a drag in order to go from one place to the other. Obviously the the biggest thing for this generation is definitely be speed and I really hope that's all speeded up I do like the fact that there's games in media there look like they're separated now in terms of different areas. So if I, really WANNA focus on all my media stuff it'll be in one specific place it is. Now it's not good I hope. It's better. But when it comes to games, I'm also happy to the fact that it looks like everything's optimized for the game that you're playing and overlays on top of that for the most part. That's the big key thing I think is really nice about this. You I. Yeah you're right I. Didn't mention that and that is a big part of it is that all of this overlays on top of the game, you never actually leave the game you're playing or at least you don't have to leave the game you're playing in order to access all those features whereas push. PS Button on your your controller now it takes you out of the game put you on that blue screen and you're you know you're completely in a different

Marvel’s Helstrom Is Now Streaming on Hulu
"Hulu is premiering hellstrom which. At one point was known as Marvel's. Hellstrom. But somehow the marbles disappeared probably because it has no particular relationship to the marvel comic character and because Jeff Lobe is out at Marvel TV and they're changing their marvel TV exactly and they're changing the entire administration. So Hulu basically has in this particular case, a somewhat orphaned TV show that he is not very good. It is. So what you're saying is it's all connected Dan. Bullets connected to eventual cancellation I would assume. I turn what ever it's just not very good. It's IT'S A it's been. If you go online, you can see how the original character of. Demon Hellstrom and his sister Santana Anna here. Look in the comex they look nothing like that nothing in their world looks anything like the comedy connection basically, it's been re conceived as A. Color drained. Overly dark exercises drama of the type the TV has had like twenty in the past five years and the even acknowledge multiple times in the first five episodes. How much TV and movies have been doing exorcism stop and yet they do hassle absolutely nothing new or interesting with it.
Imran Amed and Tim Blanks on a Most Unusual Fashion Month
"Blow everyone. This is Imran Ahmed founder CEO of the business of fashion and I am here with my friend and colleague Tim Blanks editor at large of the business of fashion, and usually around this time of year timid I do a debrief on the fashion week has gone by and it's usually been informed by some of the chats the Timman I have. In the back of a car shuttling from one show to another in in all of the fashion cities. But this has been it goes without saying a fashion season that was very different but we wanted to continue our tradition and as it's been such a unique and unusual season maybe it's even more interesting to talk about the fashion season that's gone by so. Cam Maybe, we could just start with. The decision that both you and I made not. Any physical shows season in what what led you down that path because of course, there were some things you could have gone to here in London but in the end that didn't transpire. Well, my husband Jeff is very high risk and we have been so extremely careful since March. That it just seemed the sensible decision to extend vet caution and keep on extending it until we know there's not some kind of. Remove as much as remove as many random elements as possible from alive I I feel. Schizo being out of the House for all the months I found it so. Wasn't even the novelty I just found. The options that we would given. If we wanted attending things in person, we could zoom with design is we we could dive we can do deep dives into collections I ended up quite seduced by the virtual option I have to say. Come on a room. That's a surprise because you know at the early. Onset pandemic, we were talking about Sasha demonstrating graying potentially. Some shows never happening again. You know you're quite pro fashion meets Elliott. and Pro fashion shows because fashion shows have been my exposure to fashioned for my entire time working in this industry and I was definitely on the side of. You know that way of that way of encountering fashion, but this has been an education in. So many ways a pop aside from the fact, I've actually you learned to use technology and in a way I never thought I would I would ever be able to. It doesn't kind of. Terrify me Oh bull made whatever. You know the as so many people said, and it didn't matter whether there were people like me who just sit and look at things or whether they will buy as you know people who have whose bread and butter is the touchy feely side of the industry seventy people were saying the. The ability to go back and look at things and to have to think of something, and then be able to go back and see whether it was what you were thinking of old. To cross-references and to. and to be entertained as well. I think the difference this season as people really really got their virtual presence together. You know we've had a couple of. Dummy, runs that went. Wildly convincing. And I think this time there was so much thoughts and creativity and ingenuity applied to new ways of doing business that anyways. Bringing us to the world that that it was a very, very different game I felt. Yeah. You also got to spend. More time with the designers because. So much more I. Mean that was a mixed blessing in a way because normally it's three minutes backstage a few questions and he whiz off and do your review, and now it was forty five minutes zooms and so you having proper it reminded me actually it's funny. It reminded me of. When I first started covering fashion and I would go backstage interview designers and and people weren't that many people doing it in those days when there was a handful of camera crews and and you would end up in these. You know half hour forty, five minute conversations in depth with you know it was a novelty for you to be told to. It was a novelty for them to be talked to, and you would get people. You'd have these extraordinary conversations that would then be brutally truncated into like a thirty second sound by something for the for the broadcast. Meanwhile, the these conversations floating around in an archive somewhere at this, this is in a funny way. This is what it was like that. You would be having quite you. You'd be having talks with people and so when you went to write about the collection you when you're approaching collection a whole different level of insight I think you know it's so in a way, it was more time consuming and even though I wasn't kind of car with you driving from place to place flying from city to city all of that. It was more time can I was sitting in my room it was more time consuming and Matt sense that and more sought consuming and more and ultimately more rewarding in a funny way. I guess.

What was the party scene like around the Lakers did you delve into that very much sort of what the lifestyle was for them in Los Angeles as the second coming of showtime, it's a actually oddly unsexy answer, which is it's a different era. This is a different era like my first book is about the eighty six maths and you could go out and go after the eighty six to go out to a bar named thin McCoy's along island and get drunk with their fans yet do that anymore doesn't exist anymore. So the Lakers of this era. Like Shaq. had great events at his mansion when he lived in Orlando and players will go out to bars but. Not the same as it obviously there were women in hotels, but it wasn't the same as the eighties where you have women lined up and you get the notes at the hotel desk from thirty women and it's a post that speech. Lakers oppose HIV era. Players had to be a lot more careful. So D- guys cheat on their wives yes..

"I know it's many years later but just the new stuff I know you're sort of taking the the global view on this from above But in terms of news nuggets that people would have found enormously fascinating at the time if they'd known but can only be told with perspective without the headlines, what are some of those items? Well I mean I think the I I i. think there's an ongoing. It's not bullet point I WANNA be clear. It's not bullet point. I think the thing that's really fascinating that fascinating needs throughout is you can't get I can't talk about this Erin getaway from Shack Kobe obviously can't get away from it. So I'd be sitting with Rick Fox and I'd be like what about someone so it always comes back to check OBI and what's interesting is the kept bringing in these guys. Like you look the veterans they brought in Jerry John Salley Rick Fox Robert Ory they were all there for Koby and one in many ways they're all brought in by Jerry West to deal with Koby to soothe. Kobe, to make it work Kerr Rambus who coached turn before. Phil Jackson He was there in many ways to soothe Kobe. And in never worked like adjusted Jerry told me a great story comes in Glen Rice Steel and Jerry West side one day and is like I really liked the way you talk the players Zuri, we can help with code. Yeah. A Great Jerry West Megan this request yes. I can have a Kobe. Kobe come on back in the plane with us. We're all while playing cards. Now, Madam Good Koby, let's go out for dinner. Now Man I'm good. Kobe let's do Nah. I'm good John Salley John. SALLEY gets Kobe Bryant to go out to South beach whether in Miami it's a huge win like a huge win. It took work come out Kobe. Let's go out. TAKES HIM OUT TO A club? He can't believe I got Kobe Bryant on Club is unbelievable. It's nine thirty. Kobe's like. y'All got to work out tomorrow morning at five. I think leaving. John's has wait what like the efforts they went through to get Kobe Bryant to be a part of this off and the other things ray interesting is the thing that drives me crazy is when they played teams with like like when they were played Toronto Vince Carter just as an example, they knew Kobe was a lost cause Kobe was gonNA shoot thirty times. Kobe had to show a vince. Carter. It'd be better than Vince Carter has Vince Carter the Hawkeye coming along when they played Alan Iverson in. Philly. If I was GONNA shoot thirty five times copy is. GonNa shoot thirty six and it became this thing this battle even Phil Jackson Missouri the battle by the end Phil Jackson were saying, Amidst Cup check I can't coach his anyone like Phil Jackson Coats top Jordan he had pippen the it was he knew hard players I cannot coach this guy anymore it is not working and it drove the best coach NBA history to the brink of NOCCO. Are you shitting me like how is that possible? Explain that part to me explain to me what's happening with Kobe there that Phil Jackson Zen master I can reach anybody throws up his hands and says, no, this is out of control here..

"Hey guys welcome back to the show. Jeff die fantastic. Really appreciate him. And he's so funny and check him out wherever he is before we get out of here as we promised we got a phone call we got a call a is again condom on the bat line. Let's see if he's Around Ozzy Osbourne Halo. You put us in a good mood. I'm the world is down right now. But you're putting us in a good food. I in a good mood. You're going to work and then I can do for other people too. Yeah I think he should be a goodwill ambassador. I am I am Agoura ambassador are you. Are you an ambassador for the store goodwill or just in general good? I love outdoor Galil because I sometime I can pick on if I need about also I can. I can take all my stuff. They're awesome things. Always take my socks you take a sauce can take if I if I only say what. What are they going to dryer? I'm always saying. Hey how come I putting to any signs me and Yary always talked about that all right. So let's talk about as we approach the Major League baseball season. We might have games without fans because of the whole corona virus are you. Are you nervous about that? And how how? And how is corona virus affected Your Life Mock Rona virus? I keep I. Don't touch my fate right now. Don't touch your won't touch my face. I don't talk to other people say I I number touching nothing in the shower all and do turn on the war. Letty run over me like that movie. Silkwood Fan I do shop wash the factory. Yeah we are all living in a very a terrifying to rewrite very terrifying factor. So Ozzy tell us how do we deal with? Will WE DEAL WITH CORONA VIRUS IN ANY WAY? Do you have a plan in the basketball? Talk about? Play the game in our place. That don't have the right so but I don't know if he's a realistic for baseball. But I think there are some good opportunity right now with the corona virus. Yeah we need Corona Byron because if the corona virus is going to be continue on and I could be then I think there is opportunity for for some things so I think that everyone should wear the little booty from the hospital into the game. Okay so definitely scrub booties. Yeah everyone should get instead of these lead along. Promotional thing like the hat and the teacher ever liked to wear those who likes. Those teachers are very rough material. Nobody likes them and never fit right. Those shirt to walk your dog. Yeah sort of sleep. Yeah Order Sleep you uncomfortable for you. Give everyone these. Booties and a little has. Massu has okay and so everyone is Dowana scrub that on the head for the shower cap. Yeah I think everyone wears all these to the game and everyone should look like they are background on the show. Er and so on. But Yeah I think also maybe these opportunity for the the Astros. Yeah okay so I think the Astros they should be allowed to play with none of that stuff and and that they should get this. We should give the Astros the current way. Come on you wanNA give the Astros. The Corona virus treated on that. And everyone's going to be hitting them. I think I could be saving saving them from getting hit a by giving them the virus. So you're saying if we give the Astros the corona virus downward even then we're even can throw at them. No one can throw if they have the virus. Yeah if you throw out. And by the way if the Astros win the world series and overcome Corona Virus. That may be the one thing that brings them back to everyone's good graces. Bring back to the waterline. Everybody to respect that okay. So you're saying give the Astros coronavirus punishment for the cheating scandal and Dusty Baker. He he he going to have to deal with. That will Baker's the guy who created and invented the high five. Okay now we come back in and people say US your conspiracy theory but follow me on this one. Okay dusty created the high fight the hi-fi that's the original Chan and now he's the man you're all are strong and stole the world series. No one is allowed to touch on a Heinz. Thank gave the Astro these chronic buyers. Let them do high five all day long. Okay and they all take each other out. Okay all right so that that seems gusty therefore the ultimate Harry Carrie. Okay hang on so you so you. Do you want a position? Are we creating a position for you in? Mlb where you're just sort of like virus you are. Are you GONNA be the virus? You'd the virus. Sorry you're Kinda like a judge Judy of sorts. I'm a little bit like A. You've always wanted to be a young. And they say hey. You can't be a yard to another thing. I Love Mike. Yacht my record your weight and I hope that he was show. Yeah later after he career. He's Gordon your mind. Then you need to have a show call Ya Yard. An animated. Where he's an animator judge when he presides over real real yard claim. Yeah okay but I think this is only fair nets way to do and people say oh. You're crazy again. You'll stop drinking. I I say a good idea so good. It is and who's going to be the bailiff of the idea rusty stall no no and I can't. I cannot go away. I rescue grand grand around. I had the grind. Neuron I was GONNA say Winona Judd. You can get your your your. What about Bobby? Jenks aleve bailiff. He should be the Baylor long wrong. If Bob Young was playing today I can tell you right now that Be a Lotta donuts. GonNa get Ron Meyer Ozzy. You have great ideas. Keep them positive. I want you to be happy. They young so you don't get down get down getting down here not the surface. You're not getting down now that you're saying because now I'm thinking about all the things God that doesn't mean it's GonNa be. The Coronas are all right. We'll make that happen. I really yeah. I can't right Ozzie. Thank you so much. Have a good guy. We love you to use Man Zeki Zeki an man. He brought it Come see us. Virus be damned. Lebron six eight shoe eight two way. Faster Lebron lost a lot of weight. But I'm just saying like isn't that the best that like the Barclay is a type of guy you're like Oh Barclay you can say it and you watched shack handle the Kobe. Thing right you say to yourself man. I love you dude. Anything I ever felt about you. That was even the slightest bit negative which I never. We're always like shack size bars lovable. Both both I'm just like anytime. They go hit compared donald trump to Charles Barkley. But there is this element of like wind. Charles Barkley says something you don't. It doesn't shock you anymore but partially get away with all these Barclays Loving. There's a love but I'm saying like when like if I heard Lebron say something controversial I'll be like what Barkley said the exact same sentence I'd go. Yeah that makes sense. Yeah Berkeley Barkley in the in the Stanley Cup finals. They interviewed him inbetween beards. We obviously cared. Some blues ran at this year. He was great fun because he's he loved it. He loved it. He loved his. He's a curious one of us. I feel like that's what that's what make Barclay lovable is. He doesn't seem like a guy who's at this like Level where he's unapproachable. And he's at like this fancy dinners celebrities. He seems like A. I'm going to do what I want to wear what I want. I'm GONNA go golf. Say What I want and do an and and do what he wants I. E I'm going to build affordable housing home. You're like you can do whatever you memorabilia. You'RE GONNA try and say that he has a ton of Old Jerseys. And how much could an old game warned? Charles Barkley Jersey autographed from Charles Berkeley. Sell for what like a thousand rings or assigned Ray Rings? He's got to win like tournaments. He's got no rings shack them every time. That's check his classroom. That's unfair Shaq. Had a good example of what we're just talking about. How about how like they can get away with anything? Yeah LEBRON LEAVES CLEVELAND AND PEOPLE LOSE THEIR MIND PEOPLE IN CITIES WHO aren't even clevelander. Miami are complaining like the girl from what I've done it. Where shack would literally go to any team. That had a good point guard. He's like what Phoenix Scher Boston. Shirt CLEVELAND SHIRT MIAMI shirt. Any how about if everybody's complaining about what? About Casey. Kevin Garnett did all that he could do to try and win. Rayon in all that he could do to try and win. In Minnesota Kevin Durant did an Kevin Garnett Kevin Garnett and then. Garnett goes to Boston and they invented the big three right. And everyone's happy about that. It's silly this sports. Logic is very flawed. That were some would say like well. It Ruins your legacy if you WANNA leave a team like but that's not true. I'm big fan of Jim. Thome remember him Great Hall Famous? Do He has a special section in in What's now progressive field? The Jake He has a special section section. Honoring him at that stadium. Then you go to Philadelphia. And he's got a special section honoring him because Baltimore Camden yards very special section section honoring. Jim Thome E. I would say you're helping your legacy by spreading it up good person cities claiming I I'm gonNA guess somewhere in. Us cellular field in Chicago. There's a spot for. Jim told her there is. I wonder how the angels feel about Google's I mean the the car because he never really delivered on the promise what he had a couple of plays though as it goes records right and he'll records as national but the magic that he created sure as a cardinal so I wonder when he goes in the hall of fame and he'll be a first ballot or no Louis so the goes in as a cardinal has to get all of his damage there and that way I hate so the only ever hear me. Talk Trash about Greg Maddux is Greg. Maddux did a thing where he was like well. I love the cubs as much as I love the braves so I don't really like dude. That's how the whole famous you have to pick a team place. What do you do your you had the best seasons ever as a brave chicks dig. Lavar ball drifted me. You so angry was. He presented that conversation to the baseball world where that would have never otherwise been a conversation and so. I'm afraid like pools my I don't know going bolt. You know you're just put into bed hat all right. So the Final Story Rob Gronkowski in deep deep talks with the. Wwe DEAL report. I saw an ad that I mean. You feel like that's kid for. He has a friend named Mojo or something mojo Rawlings or something. I don't know it's pretty easy enough. While his one of his best friends is in the pro is in w and he shows up to all the wrestle like all the wrestling as I can do this and he's also he's big like big personality personnel but I don't you told me that Rob Gronkowski still thinks wrestling is real. And what's GonNa Happen is my prediction on Shabbat wrestling? Fan and Mojo Rawley very good Pirelli so Gronkowski will. He's going to sign a deal dodie yet. He'll get some candy ass contract. It's not like the other wrestlers have to deal with right and he still won't be able to keep a Vince happy or jump through the hoops that he would have to be about four months. You think he's GonNa completely like novelty match. How how fast would quit if you got a job tomorrow? Wb writers you guys would quit in probably two weeks because you're just be like. I'm not putting up with this for this pay. It's like it's not worth it. He psycho watching the xfl. Dow you see the thirty for thirty on the old one. Yeah the old XFL. Yes kind of unbelievable. Because it's Dick Ebersol. And Vince McMahon their partnership and literally when NBC lost the NFL to Fox and CBS. What they did in there like we need football and we need to have a fight. Bob Costas he's going to her. We talk about on this. Podcast depress him as a journalist. And I said you know it was funny Bob. When he was on the show had no was funny is the more he got mad. The calmer you got. And he's like that's what was making him mad that it wasn't there you ever fearful and he said no part of me was felt like I was watching it happen and I'm sitting there. Sure and part of me was like this guy is smart enough not to do any on camera. It's going to be a really bad low salt so he can't private at a bar that's a little. It's posturing guy he's like. I know I know who you are like Jim. Rome with with Well the will that pushed that pushed buttons forward. This guy McMahon you you get the sense that he's like on he. One of my close close pals in this stage life is Freddie Kris Jenner the hero for WB for prince junior row for wwe for. I don't know like over a year. "Hey guys welcome to the show Follow Jeff die on twitter. He is at Jefta D. y. e. socials are at a p him live any live dates coming up. I know coronas like affecting amid The Dead Crow Comedy Club in North Carolina coming up and then Budgets ON JEFF DOT COM DOT COM. Go see him I promise you you will thank us do it now. And then you'll think later for doing it. All right thank you. Let's get into some quick hits and then and then we at the end of crickets. He's going to tell the idea that he was just doing until Dan. Let's pitch an hour. So you're you're you're all about fun ideas that somebody will go. Why would we want that? But it's because it's fun you know putting a regular guy and baseball game is is a fun idea. Great idea right if I do say so. What if you found the fattest guy in the world just the most fat dude you could find just morbidly obese you put a Jersey and some pads on him and you put them in a goal box for an NHL game. He's so big that he just takes up the whole area of the mighty ducks scene. Where the big guys? The goal in just takes all these things. They strap them to the haven't seen that is. You're the guy they have to like. Saw Open the doorway to get. You could find a guy big enough. Why is that illegal? It's not do that. You go ahead. That's got no reaction times pat up man. Good luck is literally then it becomes. How much of a sniper are your sharpshooter? Why there's no area that's a big guy he's set you're talking seven hundred pounds. Wash Yourself. Yeah he must be like. He's bigger than the goal would be like. We have to make rules. You see wearing loafers. Or is he wearing? He's got always gotta wear pads and he's got it all he can't skate he's to how you put them in that. Goldbach see where. They moved their leg sideways so they got the pads over the. Yeah the whole time as going to be able to last for what would the NHL do they go? Gosh Dang it you see the penguins are doing. We can't we can't allow. I like it would be that would force a rule change right. It's James Harden the way he's like really changing the game by just like getting fouled on traveling. Well they're all three steps back But like you know like with flopping and at some point to go we need to address this address it can take fat guy in that goal bucks every teams just trying to make millionaires out of morbidly obese. People you heard it here it happens. You heard it here. This just stupid idea. Let's do some crickets all right. So this is less of like This is just a crazy thing. What do you think do you think the? Nc Double A. plays its games without fans. Yes you do I do too. Yeah they just got. Oh maybe not 'cause NCW obsessed with money they are but like in Washington just said we can't have gathering more than two hundred and fifty point. Gosh we have shows are still safe. Yeah we haven't reached that threshold for Washington Hall yet In June in January. We'll see long way way. You should come up and be our gas. Would you go some numbers? Yeah good I want to give you the day right now it's Yoon nineteenth choose the Friday night. We'll see some other shows around the guests. We're doing this okay. I'll I'll I'll literally put it in your Saturday. And then we'll promote it and you guys show on the night before yes absolutely do okay Uconn women's basketball coach Gino. Ram Isn't buying into the American athletic conferences. New KHURANA virus precaution for everybody. Who's not buying into precautions? Fuck you what are you doing? Why are you be so sports? Is this incredible macho things. Don't tell me I'm GonNa play Harare. Don't tell me I can't shake hands up. Don't chance so we are about to go. Do these shows Madison Wisconsin. This weekend were in Madison. When this thing drops we're Madison Right? Now we're going to have merch lines afterwards. We have merged we sell merchants. Waco's we're going to give prayer hands and bow and give elbows and that's what we're going to do and you know what that's okay it's the fuck out of her name is going to be bad out of. Us giving but we were just on a plane I get it. We're just going to give an elbow and no one's GonNa be mad about it. No one's GonNa think we love them lasts so Geno Auriemma you can suspend what you normally do and and come this time next year when we don't have a potential epidemic endemic. Yes then then you can go back to high fives and hugs. So this is not personal. This is the problem with legendary coaches anywhere. Okay Bob Knight thinks he's over the DIXIES Gregor Games's biggest game players. I can throw chest push. Kids show jewelry. Ori Jokes like that is to be that are joking. Bloomington is that Bob Knight should have a restaurant with no chairs to stone. You tell people who people are and they just downstairs across. So he's like I love stuff like the I wanted to create a bar. Called roadhouse right but the rule is every hour we ringing alarm. And if you don't want to be in a fight and you've been out to the level at the Higher Level Watch. The fight are the hours people are just going up and then nobody's fighting but some people are gonna go that far like I get to fight in everyone signs a good thing. This is why I do this. They're just waiting for the alarm just drinking signs that thing you have to sign a company. Well that's the insurance thing. So that's not on us so this this is what Gino Armenia. Rem said okay. This is like again the every argument for the sort of I'm not gonNA follow. Protocol is the dumbest argument. Our our assistant Sarah. Her son is a wrestler. They wrestled for. I don't know how long on this dirty Matt and they go. No shaking hands. I mean come on. Don't get me started. Hey guess what the wrestling thing. They're wrong. They shouldn't be wrestling job to find the wrong by like doing. It's not a thing. It's just to me all this of his unbelievable. It's funny that people are taking this like this is GonNa be the new normal. No we have to hit the pause button. A little bit we have medically response. We're just trying to contain this shit so it doesn't kill. Everybody are so that doesn't spread all over the place. Do you think God or the universe made corona virus to be like. Hey that one area is getting carried away calling real things fake that one area keeps saying that scientific things are fake. So we're going to now look at the way it handled real and all the people that call it. Fake News are going to be dead. Yeah okay or it's called natural levellers. Its mouth oozing. I Love Charles Barkley. So much Mir were of the of the mindset that the dude is just the greatest thing ever. I'll watch the more than I'll even watch games at times. I'll watch earn. Bang on everything because you like he could say any. It's like why comedy is Great. It's why the Best James Harden is a hasidic. Jews weren't Andre Jordan. Deandra John Amana impression because Jerry Jones terrible if I if we locked them into a gym with a bunch of basketballs and we told them dunks don't count. We opened up the gym. He'd have to point. That's the weirdest great. Thanks John. Why Charles Barkley can do all that because of this story here Charles. Barkley is selling memorabilia to build affordable housing in his Alabama hometown. You know what I'm saying. He's like I don't need this. I donate you know. He doesn't need it. So I think Barclay a lot when I think of Zion Williamson. Okay okay you're like that if you're Zion you say I WANNA do should aspire to be Charles Charles look at who he was undersized amazing jumper powerful rim shelter guy winner was left he no no no bark Nova Bar. I went back with my son and watched Barclay highlights dude. He bands his dunks on the rim are a lodge so so Zion kills. Zion kills it in Zion's to eighty five clues never injured though right. Barkley is to Lamar. Durham a little more Gerbil To fifty with Karen thirty five pounds in his playing days to fifty five thirty.

"Like I like the rain right now for five days a year it's good for like there is L. A. Rainy Joe. The reason why it works and the reason why it's good is because it's hard to you feel wrong being depressed when it's so nicer so if some an invariably everybody who's here get's depressed because they're not doing the project they wanna do things not working. And that's I go in. I'm watching all my other people on instagram. Do all the other people do. And so you get mad at yourself then you walk outside. You're like I can't be depressing. This weather need some rain to also then sit around and eat a tub of ice cream exactly exactly so every friend that I've that I hadn't see out of it moved down. They've lost weight. They're happy they're ten. Look like the have become so much better actually took off your Seattle. Shell raincoat like I found myself. Took note your son. That's all I feel like the rain and we're about to go to Minneapolis next week. The rain in Seattle the weather in Minneapolis. The cold weather and whatnot are to really cool city. Seattle and Minneapolis. The weather's are the natural prohibitive. Prohibitive you WANNA come up here. A damn well want to be here. We got a Lotta Shit though. You know that you've traveled everywhere like Chicago might be the greatest city in the world until winter and then people who do the same with well actually. New York's kind of brutal all seasons. Yeah brutality people just like whatever all brave it. It doesn't matter like trying to think like there's you go to San Diego and it's just like pleasant like I'm turning my like this thing like I'm turning everything off. Yeah I'M GONNA turn my mind off to politics and mature my mind off to anything. That's I am San Diego You are. You're the San Diego people I'm GonNa turn everything on means something going on to the padres opioid crisis. I have no idea. Padres came in third. They're like words I am. I was When I first moved to La dating a very famous girl and she had to go to this club appearance. They're paying your like heaps of money to go to this club. All she has to do is go and sit there and like a little booth in drink and so people can she. She's there. They just advertise that. She's there she doesn't have to sign a little club and they go with her well. They were very annoyed that I came with because they want to give the illusion that other guys feel like they gotta shop to be some sexy girl in a club. Why did you bring some dopey boyfriend with you the wearing like a kitty cat shirt and like I was at Gayle? King Oprah's all I WANNA do. I don't WanNa know who. So this is two thousand nine thousand eight. Two Thousand Yeah. I don't WanNa know who it is. Okay I only want to know. How much was she paid? Oh I think it was fifteen thousand dollars showing up now. I have to know who it is. She was a playmate of the year. Sara Underwood Carrie underwood a playmate and also again. You definitely want her to be alone or with some girlfriends or something right you want everyone wanna see some six foot four dummy yes yes it was. I was even look into like why am I here? You're never going to get booked here again. They're going to be so upset do. Can't you be her handler? Not Now because she's like me and my boyfriend and at least you like hold my arm and I remember on my my space like people just light me up like who's this loser with Sara Underwood as a dude. I didn't sign up for this like I'm anyway but the reason I tell the stories because we were in a comic we were in a cl- I know it's so sunny out here shot. That's verified. Actually googling who I am. Who's Sarah under was boyfriend? Who Server thank God. Thank God you've graduated from being Sarah Underwood's well. They made those fake accounts. That had my name. And so then we reach out to the social media go. Hey I'm the real one and these are the fake ones. And that's I was verified before like a lot of my comedian of just a girl. You did fantastic call. The underwood effect has got to do it. But the reason I should the stories because we were at this nightclub in San Diego. It's Saturday nine. Probably two thirty in the morning. They're getting everyone added there. It's almost completely cleared out except her 'cause she's allowed to stay as long as she wants. They're going to treat her good. They're giving us alcohol their flirting with her in front of me as a whole vein of course but the La- the other people that were there that were famous that we're leaving where San Diego chargers and I go wait. Is there a game tomorrow biweekly? So Sports Fan. I just Google play tomorrow. They had a one o'clock game than two in the morning. At least like seven or eight of them stop and that's a lot. I mean like on a game night San Diego's to fun to have a successful sports yet. They won't bad so far can give twenty year old okay. Millions of dollars to be respond. This explains to me. San Diego always started out the year like one in four because they never got together and finally after a while. They're like we gotta stop going out until three in the morning so they were just completely running themselves for the first five or six games a year and then finally Philip rivers was like. I'm at home making more kids. Babies doing is making this book. What I meant to say is that San Diego is too good of a city that makes the teams trash. If you're cities trash it makes pretty good teams. Because let's do Pittsburgh. What do we say Pittsburgh's trash? I'm just saying it's not supposed to be a cool city. It is sports teams aren't good. Well no the steelers are good. I have high rates have the pirates rough. Got It all right so you don't have an NBA team now. D- root for either La Lakers guy. I'm Ben I'm very good friends with Jeanie. Buss Linda Rambus. Who How do you know these guys So again I met genie bus at the Playboy Mansion. It's hilarious but genie bus. Ie you're hanging guarantee you is guys are and and as a fan can guarantee you. Can you get us in touch with her? If you want I would love to go to a game love Comedians. All my God and so when I was playing mentioned shifts. Get her on this podcast header on my podcast and my pocket is doing way worse than any department we lease. Get what is your. What is Your Jeanie? Buss you guys come to my pod absolutely got to jeopardize friendship podcast right. We're on it. And she's so funny because she's she's a business woman man. Yeah she's not GonNa give you any sound clip. That like will compromise any of her own now and now. I know she like she likes to like I was trying. I was given a little house pitching her all these jumpy. Just a wall of commentary that likes she does. You cannot not gonna well. She's like Lizard funding that she shared on my pockets. That I found fascinating is I was saying like you know women. Why like why? Why doesn't the WWL majors? Lower the rim so these girls can dunk. I mean like we let girls golf closer like the closer tease right. We accept that women are biologically a little smaller than men. That's not that's not an equality thing that just look a little smaller. Take the biggest man in the world bigs woman in the world whatever strong man strongest woman little. They're just a little smaller. And if you're using a smaller ball why can't we just lowered little nine foot girls dunk dunk city because fans like myself? The the more simple fans. We Love Hail. Mary's home runs and Dunks love. And so if I'M GONNA go to those games I don't WanNa just see layups in passing. I don't care I want to see dunks and so I picked this tour. And she's like she got sued. She did say that every year she tries out women. She has a lot of women. Trial for the Lakers. That's amaze every year. Actually just not as good as the men. I think you better than Caruso I think yeah I think the crew I think the NBA. You might be able to get a woman as a two guard or point guard to come through. I do think like just the way. I don't think she could defend. I don't know if you have like an unbelievable shot. I just think like the way people working out these days the way you might know why I really do believe or second base second base MRI. Maybe baseball I believe baseball. Second Baseman that can base central. Look I believe anything like this weird study where it's like if you took like just the strongest guy at your gym. He's GonNa beat the hell out of like a really low level. You HAVE SEAGULL. Like there was a guy who was popping up at. I'm telling you I don't know about just physicality I know but it's true. Here's what I would love to see. And then we'll go to a break. Rookie made us. We haven't been great. So so here's what I WANNA see team like a like the mariners. I think every game for one inning. A fan gets to play one. Possession manager has to decide which position to put you have We love it. And it's like it's where do we put so rain in Iran and the sausage race in Milwaukee? We did one time because we were in town. Doing comedy shows normally do the sausages. Everyone turns young adult interns at all employees. And if they win they they don't have to do like the kid daycare at the end of the game right so it means something to them. That's Hilarious steaks but also but also people just show up to work that day and they're like oh you're running the right you'll check the board and you're like I'm right out of the race so randy and I went to run the race and we ran around and we're like this is cool but wouldn't it be cool if one of us had to play like right field. Yeah I'm telling you I. I support the idea. I would like that in almost any sport. You show me a regular guy. Let me see where I would look at. How's your week? Look like I want to write this movie. I'm sure tons of people are starting to emergency goalie. The amazing the guy the guy who was Zamboni driver for the arena comes in and wins the game for the other the other team Carolina Hurricanes and he came in and one that it's the greatest idea pitchy guys pitch on the other side of break jeopardize got an idea. He's got a podcast to Friendship Podcast Geoff. Ties friendship podcasts. Which will be on this bad decisions? By the strokes there are no bad decisions with Jeff Dot come back and do quick hits with him after the break ause again later it's You from the cheap.

"Day on television. They have a TV deal right and then also a flight. Home is a direct flight. Eight hours I would assume I put in the same category as like if Tim Tebow. Continue to play. Football and Miami was like we'll draft him right because all the Florida guys and all the Florida fans knew him and loved him as a heisman. Trophy winner and whatnot though. Come out to the game. At least you made money. That's right sold some jerseys. That's right. Yeah he'll come onto the game and he'll generate money for us. It's even if it's on a show. Shohei Otani is amazed anyway rival and now the angels have the two best players in baseball they do Otani and trout and then they trade for someone else they ever and now like like. Our arrival has the two best players in baseball. I mean you did grow up watching Ken griffey junior the greatest baseball player Volta. So you think he steroids because he got hurt too much right. I don't think it's just that is I think that he in this is a guy that Damien stretch is like I don. I don't trust I mean I don't think he was so pure baseball. His swing was so beautiful. And you know what great that like? Senior senior who is part of the big red machine and so part of? Linke's heart of a world series champion. Many world series is and was a great player in his own right. Yeah okay. He's not he's not a hall of Famer but he was a great player in his own right but his greatest contribution baseball was his son when he married an athlete. His his mom or Griffey's mom was like this track star like a Super Athlete. So they may pigeon. Child has a phenomenal kid. That could Griffey never gave his dad any credit. He does all my mom was the athletic ones. You like dude. Your Dad was pretty athletic and then he also wore number twenty four because he grew up loving Ricky Henderson Hall Grades So Griffey were twenty four because of a lesser. He's like who yeah thirty his dad but now he's like Nah. I like who I wish I had someone I could look up to. That was closed. Come under Sanderson Guide. It's KINDA CRAZY. Occasionally like yeah. I'm glad you chose Ricky So so are you a basketball fan or as soon as the supersonics knows. Saint LOUIS FANS. We know what it's like to have teams your city across the Sonics left. We did you feel I by the way I feel like. If the Sonics had stayed in Seattle Harden durant westbound westbrook would have all stayed. Think so to help. I'd like to think that because I think they win a lot of championships so one of the reasons even Jalen Jalen. Rose said one of the reasons he felt like durant left. Oklahoma City was during like Obama was delivering a message after durant it so much to give money. Oh Yeah Tornado. Victims went out and he said Obama's on the screen and everyone was boom and he was like having a second. That's my guy or I can't believe I'm playing for a city of people that are doing this guy so excited. I gotta go somewhere a little more woke than this. And he wound up going to San Francisco which is in Seattle. Tell Seattle and now he's in Brooklyn so he's kind of like avoided going to a place where maybe that would exist. Which is kind of crazy We also add Serge Ibaka. Nobody talks about that. I mean that's a that's a phenomenon I would say the surge is working collison. I'm GonNa like we literally. That's a that's a squad that is squad guys went off to do other other great things. I also I use usually said like if the sonics never left Seattle I would have talked. I don't know one hundred hours about something different. I've never shut up about the fact that the Sauna Club you would think I lost a Chai did you. Did you ever shut up about it ends? You did you root for the thunder or no no no you if your heart your heart. My now Z. If anyone is out there from Seattle going Oh. I'm they went to become thunder Sugiyama Thunder Fan. That's literally like someone sexually assaulting you. And then later they get on TV and you go. You know had sexually that guy. No he sexually assaulted like I don't know if it can compare those maybe Oklahoma City did not. They did they did. They didn't like they stole. My team stole my city is no. It's like it's the worst feeling. And here's the lot a lotta pictures and Seattle so it was hard to get the hipsters on board. I was like I'd go to coffee shops and be like keep the sonics leaving because I grew up in Queen Queen. Anne is like we are where you grew up from fifteen up age fifteen up so and I would go to songs games. I was friends on the sonics dancers like I used to like. Get me like tickets to go in. I was a little boy like watching my sonics from age. Seven all the way up but when I moved queen at age fifteen so here's the thing hipsters when a cop show would be like and even like the Sonics and you're like okay. That's fine but you don't even own a TV exactly you Dannebrog. They're being the economy by leaving. So now you're a little coffee shop. Your little hipster record store your cool little like a vintage I would frequent are now chase bank's CIPOLLA. What you love about our little vibe town which is now going to just become a buffalo wild wings because we don't have the economy to port the Little Guy Sports allows you to offer. Hey sports or not. That was bringing the money into that. I agree and made me so mad. It's CERVITTI I hate all the time. In fact I got a little carried away when it when that earthquake happened or whatever happened Oklahoma City. I was like this. Is Karma for you steal Sonics and all these people were like. Hey Man. You can't do literally followers. I understand the the just. Mayo Grapes and the hurt I suck. Avenue are happened to our cardinals. Football cardinals went Zona for the rams left. So we've lost two football teams in sales but I never had an NBA team. Now you're next hello team and we're getting an MLS team which I know as a Seattle fan battle sounders. I've never been to one of those those you've got to go to a southbound founders timbers game it's that's the thing because you know being up there there's a little rivalry. There's like a comedy rival Portland in interest. We're more hipster Seattle's rainy reindeer reindeer. Homeless will double. Then it's like I get it. I get the process. I don't care at all. Someone is remember like we often said about Portland in about Seattle. The same thing that like the sun is like the that guy who shows up in the conference room and didn't realize that there's a meeting their shows up with his lunch to eat there and dozen relaxes. That's always when the sun comes on Seattle. It's like Oh Shit Shari. I thought I was supposed to be you. Guys rain all booked for okay. Sorry my bad ran. Has this book all the way through the summer all the way through August? Yeah you guys have you guys ticket. I'll just great kids and it's like when I first moved to La. All I've ever known rain from Seattle is All we knew. What are you not impressed? Did it to press different if I moved back now because things like. I didn't win the Sun comes out you call in sick you go out. Can't be inside because it's it's actually sunny so when I first moved to La my first day. I'm like crashing. Adam raise couch in two thousand eight and I go to the coffee shop. And I'm you know I'm a Smiley guy which annoys everyone And I go in and I'm like hey sunny out and they're like where are you from? I just moved here from Seattle. Like oh well welcome again my coffee table and then the next day. I communicate all my God. It's sunny again that the fourth like welcome to La like sales and then after like the fifth day like dude. You don't have to do this everyday. Everyday people are no it so it's raining now and it's giving you a little slice of Seattle for the next week it's in La for the next week. And I think people are kind of like it. They'll be reminded it makes them seem like they're so like poetic.

"Well I think I have it mostly in check these these days like I can be a little bit hypochondriac. My Dad was a doctor and like I know I know this wasn't his intention but his dinner time conversation. When he came home from work was not always good for my brain three? When I was a kid I uh there is a period of time where I thought that someone might have swapped out my dad do this thing when he would come home? I would really quietly run downstairs when I heard the garage door opening and my dad had this pair of coveralls hanging up right behind the door and I would stand behind the coveralls and then when he came in the door like jump out and scare him even though I did this every every single night. It's still scare the crap out of him by remember after I'd done this for a little while that like my reason for doing it changed to see if I can catch him like getting into costume. I just kind of wondered if he was not who he said he was and he had fooled us all four elevator doors and I thought this was something. Everyone is afraid of five. I didn't stop wetting my pants in the daytime Until I was in sixth grade I just did it every single day. The thing that made me stop is that I had a big crush on a girl in my grade and I I realize that you would never like me if I what my pants so shamed myself out of it. I used to be afraid that I'd do it for the rest of my life. Though I think my parents were too.

"Are you really. Yeah like an eight hundred number that people just call you and they sent it to. People will submit a relationship questions submitted them ahead of time. And we're going to talk to them. I love it. Hello Hi is is melanie it is hi Melanie. It's ANA hi. Hi thank you so much for doing this. I'm here with Jeff Carlin. Hi Melanie Hi. I'm good how are you. Do you know who I am. I do it. Yeah I was like I never assume ever you tell us what's going on okay. So ever last December I'm single for the first time in about seven years and I finally got the courage to start dating in April. After a series of unfortunate I dates. I finally met this really Great Great Guy Trevor. We hit it off immediately. We went on some really great dates. A few things like a little off about him though. He said he lived with his parents which is a huge deal because I currently live with mine. Thanks but he said he didn't have a driver's license car because he got an accident when he didn't have any car insurance and then he randomly dropped it on me that he has three kids under the age of three. He said three two and quote unquote brand-new since he didn't drive. I was always the one to see him and I would only ever pick him up and drop him off at his office. I I am lying about a few harmless other things like who'd babysitting the kids when we would go out and then in August I went on a trip with my friend to New York City and he went on a family trip communiqu festival and he goes to the entire time he completely dropped off the face of the planet and then when he got back he would like. Oh I turn my phone off to spend time with my family and and I didn't have any service so I kinda done ended things and then a few weeks ago we got back in touch. He said he really missed me. And he thought about me a lot and he would be extremely lucky. The things between US worked out. Those are his words. I kinda missed his company and I mean we take off the first time around so I decided to give things another shot but I did say on one condition that he I was always honest with me and like communicative and I'm now living with my parents to. We had to get a little creative with seeing each other And had a hot date and of minivan if you know talking about I finally got the nerve to ask him what his last name was and he told me so like any other person in twenty nineteen. I tried to find him on social media. I didn't find him but I did find his ex. HIS QUOTE UNQUOTE ECK turns out that his brand new kid the youngest one is two months old so he was screwing around with me the first time around when she was pregnant also based on her instagram. It doesn't look like they are separate is currently she. A few months ago posted a picture of her proud new mom with her loving in hardworking husband bought her the same minivan that I was making so I confronted him about it and he shut down basically just said that I deserve better and he asked me if I wouldn't confront her about anything because he doesn't want it to affect his relationship with kit so my question is what do I do. Do I tell her. I feel like I've another woman I'm in. I feel like she should know about this. But I also don't know if it should come from me and I'm really torn. Oh boy okay. We'll we'll first of all I don't think thank. You should tell her anything because I think that this guy has enough skeletons in the closet. Like I just don't know if you should get involved on that end of things. Yeah Yeah but here's what I wanted to ask you clearly. This dude is he's probably like a fucking hot lover and handsome or whatever in you. You haven't been single for seven years. Yeah this was one of the first people that sort of came into your life. I guess it depends on what your goals goals are great and I don't know if you should involve yourself in his life in any way it feels a little volatile but having said that the fact that you have I've been in a monogamous relationship for so long and the you re entering this world how do you navigate those waters. And how do you know who who to trust or what to do. Actually I don't know Jeff. What do you think I have a few thoughts first off any man that has a minivan is married? That's number one then. Generally don't drive minivans. That's they didn't pick up the other thing is I wouldn't get involved anymore and I would ghost him. I would just move on because I think that for your safety and for your parents aren't safety because we don't know this gentleman he's been pretending to be something else. I don't know what could possibly happen to you but I think nothing good can come of this we had jeff cryptic you were. I don't know what scored no but the point is by the way you get married. No we don't know it sounds it was like I know this sounds like every murder podcast every year. This sounds like so same thing. Thank you move on you sound. So it's a word I use the light foam and lovely and I know that on two levels one. You're going to have hot sex again and you will meet someone done you. Well I promise you my water my work but but as you know jeffords hard in the moment the moment to what so took look out for your safety because right now this is a safety issue. It's nothing more and it's an ego. Oh issue of like Oh you fucked with me so now. I'm going to tell your wife what you did. No get out. Don't be involved with any of it at all. Just just cut it off. It's over it's going to be painful. It's going to be tough but so much easier than if you got involved by talking to the wife and by talking to him anymore. Cut it off completely. I've never felt more confident in giving advice then this the sides that I wanted to say something to you and I know what you might do and what you might do is be unkind to yourself is belittle you yourself say mean things to yourself about the mistake that you made and you did in the moment what you knew best you were taking him at his word you were trusting do not beat yourself up give yourself kindness for learning and going through an experience that you can talk talk about some day to Dinner Party where you have great distance from it and you're with someone else you know because I think the only other problem would be you being mean to yourself and beating yourself up because of this give yourself a past. You're a good person you're doing the best you can with the information you've been given and so move along protect your family and yourself from any bullshit. 'cause it's an ego move to go to his wife you know right. You're not her protector protector. She signed up for what she signed up for. You know now if she's your best friend your coworker and it's more you know tied in. That's another thing there's nothing to you. He is nothing to you. Move on move on and it'll take time and be kind yourself and every time you watch curb your enthusiasm or some movie go gave me some good advice. No here's my one did. Did you know one thing. Don't fucking van. I don't nothing good some of that but by the way let's say You get married and have children and it's your family man and that Saturday night you go out in the van and your husband's let's fuck in the back and pretend that we just met at the soccer field one of the other moms or DADS or whatever. Sure that's the only van fucking. That's any good but in general avoid fucking advanced saving. Then you're wonderful. I hope we helped you thank you I love you. Thank you or love you to see touch and I hope that we helped you to some degree. Well thank thank you so much I think what Jeff said about you know meeting to kind of forgive myself and not be mean to myself is probably the biggest aspect of this whole thing so thank you so much. Admitting I have listened to every single episode of the podcast ever I love it. So thank you so much. Oh Hockey's wonderful as you think she might thanks. Oh I wonderful holy crap melanie. Please be in touch. I will thank you so much guys. Thank you thank you bye. This is nothing to do with anything but during that phone call. I think I'm GONNA legally changed the name to Claudette. That's what I'm GonNa go with that. Yup No oh sex-change same guy but I'm Claudette. It's what I'm thinking about guard. Here's the other junkie ready. This is my favorite joke. Guy Goes to the doctor. Yeah he says Dr. I'm so overwhelmed when I wake up in the morning. My body aches and filled with anxiety. I'm filled with dread. I don't WanNA get out of my bed. Let alone open the window window and I know I can't go outside. I keep the lights off. I'm overwhelmed I weep constantly. I don't know what to do and the doctor says I'll tell you what to do. Do you go see Koko the clown he's in town now performing he'll make you laugh. Who Make you forget about all your problems? Force yourself go see coca the Clinton and the man says but doctor I am Koko the clown. Thank you for doing this so enjoy everything..

"Me I'm getting pay all right up. Now we have our interview with Jeff. He again just moved here from New York from the heartland office, and it was really fun getting talked to him about his time in the stand up community, which sounds like he's going to continue here in New York. Probably my favorite thing was hearing how he bombed with Kyle contain, but there's a lot of good stuff too. So let's listen to. Just like that. Just like that. Just like how you wanna go. All right. Welcome to high haters. We got viz in the building. So we wanted to talk to him a little bit about Indiana's comedy game because moving, I imagine moving from Indiana moving to New York. Whenever you have been touring the doing your comedy circuit throughout Indiana, it's got to be a little bit different coming to New York. Are you excited to get into that game? Yeah, I'm super excited. I just looked in the window of some random comedy club that I walk by. I don't know where it was. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. But yeah, just looks awesome. It's starting new and I'm excited and you just get a new, do whatever you want excited and for a quick background for everybody, Vits ak- is Jeff. Vibert free or is just Jeff j. please d. the kid Jeffey OJ. Yes. So we're here with Jeff. I like to call them bibs, but he was with barstool heartland when everything got switched up with that, people had the choice to stay or to come to New York, and you and a couple others where like, you know, give it a whirl in New York. You're crushing it here. Now you just moved here. What one was the hardest thing about deciding to leave Indiana and to what are you looking most forward to here in New York? The hardest part about leaving Indiana kinda sat my family, my brother just found out he's having a baby. So I'm gonna be an uncle, but it's like, but a distance, whatever makes. What was the questions? What are you looking most forward to here now that you're here like being on a Mike? Yes, September. I didn't really do much just kind of moved out of Indian and got all that situated. So it was just a bunch of organizational stuff trying to find an apartment which is boring and not fun. Like today today learned how to work the copy machine and look for and it's like, I can't blog about that right now. I don't even know where the copy machine is here.
