A venture backed creative and media analytics agency famous for building brands on youtube with capabilities to also originate co create and validate new brands. Thanks so much for joining me today jess and it's a pleasure to be with you. It is a pleasure to have you here. And we're gonna be talking about youtube which i have to tell you is such an interesting topic for me because it's one of those things that i play with but i'm not really sure that i am doing what i could be doing to really maximize it so while i know the listeners of this i'm looking forward to getting a lot out of it as how fun. Yeah the one thing that Is been you know since my departure from procter and gamble. We spent more than a decade now on the youtube platform. So it's it's kind of ironic that it's been you know at that platform. You launched in in two thousand six is now quite an old platform. I honestly but still one that i think has major impact for how you create awareness and trump for products. So i look forward to talk to you. Yeah definitely and and you know what everyone says is video is the thing and so while youtube has been around it and my understanding. Is that for the longest time. Youtube has been like the second most searched site on the internet after google. That's correct that's that is still a factor that the second most used search engine people don't get that is youtube behind of course google and all of owned by google And so what. I like to say if you don't have at least a channel if you don't have some content that is searchable with the right words etc you're foregoing the second most you search engine in the world crazy crazy and and i think people might have sort of grown up with this idea that unless you're doing a how to video or sh showing someone had a take a washing machine apart and put it back together. Which is what. My husband uses it for That you don't need to be there but that's not really true anymore. Yeah definitely not in fact if you take a look at the most significant growing trends I haven't seen this now for for for a few months but but it's probably still holds true. You know how to videos are a major growing piece All of several categories including beauty and and skin care and all of that those are major categories and then if you look at the educational components and educational being a very broad topic but if you just take a look at khan academy or or the number of sites on there that are just geared for educational learning. I joke around. You could get from from youtube and it would be more valuable than a than a stanford or harvard degree because the content is so incredibly rich. Yeah that's interesting. I think you're probably right about that. Because it's practitioners teaching what they now. So you're getting it from the horse's mouth so to seek yes exactly yeah okay So what do you think is the biggest mistake that business owners make when they're building a brand on youtube that's actually an easy one and Ended up being one. That has been the case for some time. People are starting to figure this out but one of the biggest mistakes you can make is having content designed for another platform even another digital platform. Instagram facebook video. And that's done just assuming that. Oh you can just repurpose that to youtube. And the reason why i say that is that in general we found we were one of the first Consumer products so one of the famous parts of my story you know having served a couple of decades at proctor and gamble and then leaving and then joining the startup world and my first company was a company called or brush inc a or brush tongue cleaner. And it was this crazy cool product. That was patented from dr bob wag staff and he had tried to sell it to png and he had tried to license it to johnson johnson and it was was a tongue scraper. Ninety percent of bad breath comes from bacteria on your tongue and he had created a really great product t to remove bacteria from the tongue and he had tried to go about it. marketing it With traditional means one of his last failed efforts was a was an infomercial where it just failed miserably. And he ended up meeting with a couple of young guys. Here in lake city utah. Jeff harmon and And neil harmon and jeff was just one of these guys. That really wasn't early guy on youtube and was doing all new. All these insights and outs and And so we ended up launching this product on youtube. I was the angel investor and eventual. Ceo of or brush and the cool story about war shits in two thousand seventeen youtube. Recognize the ten most iconic admiral moments on youtube from the two thousand five launch of youtube and brush was one of those ten. You would've done. You may not have recognized or brush but you would recognize the other nine it was it was always like a girl. Campaign was the jeff gordon. Pepsi campaign was the kyrie irving Pepsi campaign with uncle drew. They were just these really iconic youtube long form campaigns that people are starting to figure out that maybe fifteen second or a thirty second or one minute was not the best way to to create awareness and trial for your products and services

"All right his Defense Jeff Harmon back here. But the second part of our less ride podcast is Wednesday morning. I really hope you enjoyed that ramp because it felt could all get out of there felt so good. Let me just say that wherever you're listening spotify Google play itunes stitcher anchor Pandora, please follow the show, follow us because that way you you never miss anything there's so much content. It's not just Monday Wednesday Friday show it's the steelers injury report it's the live Mike. It's the steelers tacky th the steelers hangover, the steelers preview I could go on and on all of our content is phenomenal gotta follow us and you listen on I tunes. Gives a five star ranking in. Good comment I read our new comments on. Thursday nights steeler preview on Youtube Zoe. We get your comment read leaders that we really appreciate. It helps the exposure. So before I get into my heartfelt message finish the show I, WanNa talk a little bit about balance. Okay. Balance Balance. We all need balance in life you know what? I mean. If you listen to this show, go back to the blog talk radio days not let's ride but just our podcast platform back when it was just myself and Lance Williams that was it. and. We did the standard is a standard podcasts. It was just us there were no other show was just us over every Wednesday night. I would always talk about the keys to victory for offense lance or do the defense, and I would do the offense. And he would say, all right Jeff What your keys for victory and I would say literally the same thing every week. Well, you know what lands I think they should be balanced on offense you know I'm talking about even run to pass ratio. And he would laugh he was man you say the same thing every week and I said I'm GonNa keep saying the same thing until they actually do it. There was a point. I don't know maybe the end of the Haley era maybe early her era that it was almost like a seventy thirty run to pass to run ratio. To me that's unacceptable. My goal as a fan is I, want my offense I want my favorite teams offense to be balanced to be able to run the ball efficiently enough that you can do it whenever you want in you pass whenever you want that you're not gonNa let anything dictate what you do. That's what I've always wanted I want an offensive line that can say you know what we're going to run a down your throat you've got eight in the box I don't care still going to get four or five yards in create a manageable third down situation. That's what I've always wanted in. It seems like folks hold on hold your breath. The steelers actually have that this year I know I don't WanNa say to out I WANNA jinx it knocked on Wood for all you superstitious folks out there. You know today I'm according this on Tuesday. Mike Tomlin. Spoke today as press conference, and he spoke just about this is that someone asked him they sa- coach what do you think is the difference between playing with a lead By playing with League, what do you think the biggest differences because in two thousand nineteen, they were rarely ever had elite they always seem to be having to come from behind they were always having to rely on a big play from the defense whether it was a Devon Bush fumble recovery at TJ Wad forced fumble. MINKA. His Patrick interception it doesn't matter what it was. They always had the dank on that and so he said, what's it like you know the question was, what's it like being to play with the lead? Tomlin's answer was great and it's what got me thinking about this segment for the show he said when you play with a lead. It allows you to be to remain. Offensively That nothing is going to dictate what you do. Likewise this has an equal effect on the defense meaning if a to score lead in the second, half an offense is more likely to press than they are to just stick with the game plan. Think back to week five the. Philadelphia Eagles did probably did not want to throw as much they did in the second half. But when you're trailing by ten or more points, you feel like you have to to get back in the game. Now there are those occasions I, e week three against the Houston Texans when they just kept on trying to run the football and they had zero success in they everyone is. Like Holy Cow Shawn Watson just carved up the secondary in the first half, and they completely got away from it in the second half and I think that lead was a large reason that led to their demise in we three. But he's talked about balance how doing these things getting lead a plane with a lead in being able to run the football think back to week five again. Time of possession the steelers dominated time possession because they took long methodical drives mixing in the Ron Mixing in the past converting on third down, they did a great job on third downs against the Eagles and league five at Heinz. Field That gave the defense arrest, but it also really put pressure on the opposition. East always say you play Peyton manning play Tom Brady. Your best defense is to keep them off the field offense having long time consuming drives that end in points mainly end in touchdowns in the steelers did just that they've done that all season in it's not a fluke that they are for. No, and that's a large part of it but look at these numbers four games now mind you this isn't perfect sense. If three.

"So I'm going to do this now and I might come back and look at it again, come week four because that would that's the quarter mark for for the steelers. So the steelers are one of eleven teams were to it. Oh, it's the it's the steelers. The cardinals, the Ravens, the bills, the bears, the packers, the chiefs, the Los Angeles Rams. The Las Vegas raters should the Seattle seahawks and the Tennessee Titans who the steelers will travel to play in week four. Let's get ahead of ourselves gotta worry about that week three game I believe we're going to do is we're GonNa look look at what the steelers have done and say, all right if they keep this pace for the entire season. Where they're GONNA be. What's IT GONNA? Look like an I'm GonNa give you an over under from that is this something that the steelers are going to improve on and they're actually going to? Probably. Hopefully. Overdue those numbers or is this something that like? I don't think they're going to keep that pace up for an entire season. So let's dive in. Here's an easy one, the steelers to, and now if you WANNA look at their All eleven of these teams if you want to look at projected pace would have them at sixteen now now, obviously, this can't happen because the steelers my goodness they play. One two, they have three of these undefeated teams on their schedule. So obviously, this can't happen everyone, but it's the whole notion of. The steelers projected. Record based on their current record would be sixty two. Now that's an under. There's no. Now I'm not saying there's no way that could happen. You never know one team really gets going on a roll, but I would not look for the steelers to go sixteen. Now I'm just happy with two now and just keep one in these games along the way. So there's that's one thing look at. Let's look at some at some overall statistics we might look at some team statistics we might look at some. Individuals statistics. But with some of these when you're talking about percentage, your percentage doesn't change. The percentage isn't going to change from from. Now. To Game Sixteen but. You know not like we're saying, oh well, for example, I'll just throw one out there. But you pre has one sack so he would be projected to have eight sacks on the season. But if Ben Rothlisberger has a completion percentage of sixty eight point five if he keeps up this pace completion percentage would be sixty, eight point five because it's a percentage. So there's things like that such as like, let's say the red zone percentage the steelers right now have red zone percentage I'm not gonNA compare these to the rest of the. League. I'M GONNA look I know Jeff Harmon did that good bit yesterday on let's ride. So we're just GONNA stick to. Looking at just the steelers. So their red zone percentage right now is fifty seven point one percent. And that is scoring a touchdown on your number attempts into the red zone. steelers have made it into the red zone seven times and they have four red zone touchdowns so. I. Think that's a number that look at number I'm Gonna I'm GonNa go over I think they can up that percentage as the season goes on to be a little bit more efficient in the red zone. So, but the seals are also doing pretty well when it comes to their opponents red zone percentage that that's only twenty eight point, six percent of the time when an opponent Richard The red zone that they get that they score a touchdown so that that's pretty good. So the steelers are just to let you know they are Middle Road with the red zone percentage their seventeenth in the league but right now they're number one of the league with Red Zone Defense. That's pretty good. So that's about the only time. I'll look stuff when it comes to to the League let's look. Let's Look Ben Rothlisberger. Let's look at the quarterback. So far this season. Jeff went over the numbers everything. But right now if Ben Rothlisberger keeps everything up He is looking. At throwing for four, thousand, three, hundred, twenty yards on the season at his current pace. For Thousand Three hundred twenty. I'm going to say, I'm going to go under with this one I'm I think that there's going to be with the steelers aren't going to have to throw the ball as much and let me put Ben Right around four thousand wouldn't be terrible. So I'm hoping he doesn't have to go over that amount. So that's once right now that's his pace that he's on. We'll see how it goes in a couple of weeks. If he's still in that pace, he is also on pace to throw forty touchdowns. That's correct. Forty touchdowns has been rothlisberger ever thrown forty touchdowns in a season. He has not the most ever thrown in a season was thirty, four touchdowns in two, thousand, eighteen. So I'm once again I'm GonNa take the under on that one. I, don't know the Ben's going to get the forty touchdowns. But it's good to see that early on when people expected him to have rust. That He's on pace for forty touchdowns. He's also pace for eight interceptions. I'm going to go over on that one. I've a feeling. He's going to have a couple of games in their where he may get a worry might have to I liked it. He's taking care of the ball. He knows what's what his limitations are, and he even on Wednesday. When he spoke said, hey it's normal day off I'm going out to work on my footwork. It's got to be better because my footwork was sloppy which Kinda turn my throw sloppy and it caused that interception great job ban looking at that and things that you need to work on. So that's kind of the the numbers when it comes to Ben Rothlisberger. Also, if you wanted to look at it, it would also mean that that Ben's going to get sacked about twenty four times this year that's the pace that he's on right now for the how many times he would be sacked. I, take that I mean that's I would take that with Ben Rothlisberger for how many times he was sacked. He was sacked twenty four times in two thousand eighteen. Okay. Was it was less than that before I'm hopefully the steelers can go under on that number but the other thing right now with Ben is after two games as quarterback raking. Sorry not ranking rating. His quarterback rating is a one zero, seven point one. If he holds that. That rating. That would be the highest of his career. So where Ben is is rate with with his cute quarterback rating if he could keep that for the next for all sixteen games, then that would be the highest of his career. Now, I don't think he will because I said I think he's going to go over the pace for his interceptions and under. Under. The pace for for touchdowns. So the likelihood of him doing that, but I went back and looked at what? What is his quarterback rating in the first two games of the season over his career. And he only has three seasons where he has a higher rating than what he does right now and though seasons were two, thousand, fifteen he he had a he had a higher rating was a it was a one twenty to six but his other two seasons where two, thousand, eight, and two, thousand, five. Now they were much higher range or one, thirty, three, nine, and one, fifty, three, six..

"They don't pay me to play on second down. They pay me to play on third down. And that's what a quarterback has to be able to do. Play on third down. Can you do it? You're gonna find out last thing you have your own radio show in Denver, obviously, John always a friend of yours. Sometimes he's sometimes closer than other times. Depending on what I say, I understand. So you're my thoughts on the flacco thing where I actually think it made sense. I think it's a short term solution guy who is solid is fine. They can still go out and try and find the next guy. But because he's not gonna make a ton of money. They can fix some of the other holes within this roster. What was what's your reaction to flacco move? My my reaction is he's better than case keenum, but very much like case keenum, if you don't fix all those holes you talked about. You're still going to be on the outside looking in to the playoffs. So you've got to fix a lot of things. Here's the issue right now is you're going to have case keenum and Joe flacco, you're gonna have a bunch of dead money from case keenum. So you're playing you're paying essentially Aaron Rodgers pay to Joe flacco to run your football team. And you look at them right now, they've got free just think they have four or five free agents right now that Bradley Roby doesn't look like he's going to be back, Matt Paradis. I don't think he'll be back. Max Garcia Jeff Harmon. There may be one other guy. If all four of those guys are gone, they won't have one draft pick on their team from the thirteen fourteen or fifteen draft. You wanna talk about the mismanagement of the draft. And they've got two players from the sixteen and seventeen draft that actually kind of contributed starters, Justin Simmons and Garrett Bowles and Garrett Bowles is a question, Mark. So I mean, they have not done a great job last year's draft notwithstanding because it was really good. So to me, you still have a ton of work to do to be even into even mentioned as a team that's going to compete for a place, and you have the chargers that might have the best town league and the the chiefs who might have the best young quarterback intellect. He's marsh. Larry through three times poll champion, given so many thoughts on the national football. Of course, she him covered the NFL on FOX stink. Great stuff as always you buddy. "Friday night. We're talking about the the game coming up on Sunday Broncos Bengals game a game that everybody literally everybody thinks the Broncos will go in and win easily. Which concerns me a bit? We already talked about that. And when you look at the way, the the Broncos have been playing here lately. And they've they've kind of found a way to win games, and that's not turning the ball over and at the same time creating turnovers. Which is these last couple of games is work for them. Maybe to good teams just by doing that a long turnovers really make a huge difference. Yup. In football. And when you can create them in dot turn the ball over yourself. You're probably going to win the game. And that's what we've seen here the last couple of weeks. So there plus six. Yeah. You're gonna win two games. If you're absolutely and also defensively Dave would have noticed they become ill looks like a bend. Not break defense where teams are going up and down the field on them. And then not getting touchdowns. Well, I think because of who they played that was a little bit of the game plan. There's only been one of the time and in the Br and I believe this to be true. The Broncos of I started play back in one thousand nine hundred sixty there's only been one other game that they've given up more passing yards in a single game and found a way to win. And that was really yes. That was the game in Dallas with Peyton and Tony Romo and it was like fifty one forty eight Denver won the game gave up a slew of yards. But I mean, you let's face it. You're not faced in Tonio Brown have been rothlisburger this week. But but it's it's not a recipe for success. Just to let guys have your. Yards and count on turning them over as they get deep in your own territory. And I don't think that'll be the game plan. Yeah. It's just it system. Common to find a way to win obviously in that fashion. Oh, yeah. You can't count on turnovers. But if you get them you'll win the game even with the team going up and down the field. Donnie, and we've seen that now regarding turnovers as a former player and a coach how do you create turnovers? Is there something you do? Is it a part of the game plan? We're going to get turnovers. How do you do? I think you practice. It you preach it you work on with intention every single day in your drills. You're tripping the ball constantly talking about. Hey, we gotta get the ball out for sky wrap up. Second guy come in and dislodged. Doesn't matter. How you do? It you punch. It you pull it you. You've got to get the ball. And and I'm just a big believer the more that you talk about it in the more that you emphasize that. Then the better chances are that. And then they come in bunches, you'll go through a couple of games for you, get none. And then you go through a couple of games like the last two were they get six. So you just you. That's the only way I know how to do it. And hopefully, they keep that up. If they keep that up down the down the stretch here. It's going to be good. It's going to be a good finish for them. I wanna talk about case keenum to he's he's certainly improved his game. Even he would tell you that. I think this is the case keenum at least I expected to see when they signed him to this deal. Not the one we saw the first, you know, six seven games, the one we've seen here the last five or so this is the kind of the guy I expected to see and how how things change for him. What is he doing differently? I go back to the first game. Rick you, and I talked about this with Kathy. And I think the first game was really good and also very bad for case. He came out. I mean he had chunk plays that offense was in high gear. Remember, they're moving up and down the field. We're thinking. Wow. This is is gonna be like this. Because if it is it's going to be a lot of fun. But you remember you also threw three interceptions. I believe nobody's really talked about it. What we've talked about on the show, but I believe from a psychological standpoint those three picks in his first game at home. Impaired him for quite some time. After it it made him way too cautious. And I think you can't play this game with success unless you have confidence. And know that hey, you're gonna make a mistake and go back, and we we all have we forget about we look back on things that like Super Bowl fifty. For instance, the Broncos when it they be Carolina von Miller, the defense outstanding. Who's a great season differ wins every single game blows everybody they went. But that's not really how it happened. Right. I mean there there were twelve games in the regular season of that year. That it was one score game one score game. And they were nine and three. So there were close competitive games. They found ways to win. So I think the first game the case played is the Bronco really knocked him back in may have knocked the team back in terms of the play design and play calls like, whoa. We. I mean, one of the first things van said, I get it in the press conference was we can't we can't throw three interceptions. Well for a guy that just got here. You know? That's you take that to heart. So I think he's now settled in and I agree with you. I think we're seeing the case keenum that we thought Broncos fans were getting when they signed him from Minnesota. But he also threw three touchdowns in that game. He did really talked about those three touchdowns everybody focused on the interceptions. The two of them. One of them was a bad really bad decision. Yeah. The to happen. They just happened. Sometimes. Yeah. So part of that was maybe was a game plan like they they took more chance. And I think he dialed himself back. Right. I mean, I watched the tape of games there were times following that. There were chances to take shots down the field. He didn't do it didn't do it. So again, I can't prove it. Nobody's really talked about it. And it's you know, Psychoanalyst's blabber. But that's what my gut tells me. You can win with this case keenum Michigan's quarterback the blind. We're seeing right now you can win this. You can. And I've wearing a good place, and and hopefully he can stay healthy and keep playing like this down the stretch. All the things we talked about here tonight. It's going to be a good finish for the football team. Find ways to continue to get the ball to Philip Lindsey a little bit more of the passing game. I would like. In sater's Emmanuel's playing great court. Lynn gotta find ways to get him. The ball. Interesting to see what the titans do this week without Jeff Harmon. So Matt Lukasz Brian Parker. We'll see what sort of game they have and the weather should be decent incentives. That would I even looked. I thought sunny fifty three something like that. That's better than decent in December good weather back there. At least good weather. We'll Dave good luck tomorrow. Thank you. I know you you'll be well prepared your help your team prepared. And I will see you in Cincinnati. You better make it to the game text us during the game of what the score is. I cannot just kidding. But my intent Rick is to make it. Let's let's.

"And then I'm not gonna say this name you say the name of the next guy. Matt Lacoste Denver is that it just look Jeff Hier men. Medium-sized Jeff Harmon is out for the season. He's got last week. He had three catches thirty one yards in two touchdowns spangles or giving up number one. Most fantasy points for games too. Tight ends good match affair with cost. So again. Is more of a match up thing. I've never really heard of this guy before last week for it took over. Just potential for volume and that offense going forward. So. Yeah. Air to the alligator pen company polos real quick, I'm skipping around. But if Donald plays also the titans defense, I think is a fantastic streamer. Darnold was like leading the league and pick Spacey we got benched almost so he's fantastic. The other defense that I thought could be worth a stream is the colts against the Jags traveling to Jacksonville this week simply because the Jaguars are just in disarray on offense. They're you know, they benched Bortles fired their offensive coordinator, they got a new guy in. I don't even remember his name. Now, they got Leonard fournette is suspended culture kind of playing. Well, you know, if you're really desperate for a stream or this week defensively, I think that could be an option for you. I'm doing it one of my leagues I like that. All right. Well, best of luck to everyone in the fantasy playoffs if you competing for playoff spot, Craig we get drop from that line and gladiator those Those about to die. die. You don't think? So. Let's do it. We sold out you. We can't get you. Did it better? I basically didn't say I am Russell. All right. You look everyone..

"Here's Dave Logan with John Elway. You guys are playing better. And you're finding ways to win games down the stretch. He won two games against to really good NFL teams. What have you seen the last couple of weeks that you really liked it that you've said, you know, what? That's that's good enough that we can win some games with if we continue. Well, I mean, I think, you know, especially with the turnovers, obviously, we wind up turnover battle last week four zero and that, you know, that's a huge bonus force right there. So, you know, those little things that were category against us or now can go on with us. And so that that's why it's such a fine line the NFL of what he win or lose. And so we're you know, we're making those plays instead of coming up short. I think those have been the key factors, especially the last two weeks when you when you get to wins like you guys have had. I mean, listen before these two wins. You guys are three and six and we talk every week. And I ask you sort of your feelings on the team. Do do those two wins change dramatically your overall view of of this year? And how the teams played no not really I think that you know, we're just hoping that we're going to be able to put it together, you know, in string a couple of games together play. Well, and and again make those plays that we needed them that we were capable of making hadn't been making it. So, you know, I think that was the big thing. It was a matter of just kind of being patient with and hopefully it would turn around for us. And and. Did you know we could have had three in a row we missed a field goal Houston. And so, you know, we're real close to beaten three real good football teams there and we won the last two. So obviously that doesn't make the season. But it does get it turned around force, and it gives us a chance. And so, you know, again, as is VJ has been mentioning as you know, it is one game at a time. And we got to go to Cincinnati and continued to play like we're planning and hopefully get out of there with a win. I've asked you in the past when we case sort of struggled from time to time about his play. And I think now it's only fair that that I ask you terms of how he is played recently. I it looks to me from an outsider's perspective that he's sort of settled in. And I I'm not sure exactly what that means. But he appears like he's playing more confident and more comfortable and he's played better football as of late. Yeah. You really have to think that. We've seen what he can do especially in the fourth quarter. He's been playing his best is best football in the fourth quarter, which we would you need in this league. And so, you know, I think Dave is just as you know, it didn't get used to comfortable with the system get comfortable with an offensive coordinator getting used to play calling types, although, you know, be able to have communication back and forth where Billy and and they get they get to know case get to know each other a little bit better. So I think we're just seeing the effects of that. And and you know cases, you know, can say who made some great great throws. And did the same thing last week and moving around and making plays for us. You know, you just call them San Diego. Right. I did. I did I'm still not over. They'll probably take me about five years ago. I did it three times in the broadcast. So so don't feel don't feel badly. Let me ask you about. You had a tough had a tough injury. On Sunday lose Jeff fireman for the rest of the year in this was easily his best season at thirty five catches on the year ten in one game against Houston. Looked like he looked to me like a guy that that actually after the catch made made a few plays showed some flashes in terms of his ability. He's coming up now in a contract your free agent year. Have you seen enough of Jeff Harmon in this season? And of course, judging from the past that you you've reached a decision one way or the other terms of what you will do with him. Yeah. I mean, I think that like you said we jets had a real good year this year. And I think that you know, we we like what he's about. And we'd love to have him back next year. We'll have to see our thing works out. But there's no question. He's high on the list of hope that we get back. Now, obviously, you know, the big thing with him. He he's had issues with the injury down. So that is you know, that's the key thing. It's just you know, the thing about this this leagues, you gotta be able to stay healthy. Because you know, it's about it's not necessarily about ability. But it's about the availability. That's right. So, you know, that's the only thing that, you know, when we look at Jeff has had that issue staying healthy. But without also being said, he's really had a, you know, a great year force this year really played well show with the you know, what he's capable of doing last couple of things you gotta game coming up Sunday that you're going on the road your face the team that is struggling for sure they get the same record that that you guys do they'll be playing their backup quarterback. How how in your mind? Would you go about making certain given your situation as a team that you don't overlook the Bengals in this doesn't become what they all like to call a trap game of sorts? Right. You know, what I think, you know, we've talked about and I've talked about a several times with with VJ to and I can't. Always been my philosophy in the fact that it's it's not about who were playing. It's about how we're playing. And so if we concentrate on how we're playing go play continued to play our game be good at what we do. Then enhances our chances to go in there, and and what a football game. But ultimately, you know, Davis we have to really concentrate on that who were playing, but how we are going to play. And then we'd take care of business like that with that mentality. Then you know, we can get hopefully get out of there with a win. Yup. Good enough. We'll see on Sunday, John. Appreciate it. Good luck this week to. Hey, thank you, John. And that's John Elway with our own Dave Logan who will be joining us in studio coming up next. So who's John Elway pulling for their kids went to create heat? Coach creek Jack senior year he was the quarterbacks coach he has to go for creek, Ed McCaffrey caught a bunch of passes from them. They won two Super Bowls. Tyler Columbus was an offensive lineman that helped win Super Bowl. Fifty Brandon Stokely is also on the valor staff. I think he leans creek based on where he lives, but you know, he's got friends related to both programs in its friends whose kids go to both schools. Yeah. I would think he would pull for the school has kids went to think he's wants to see a good game. Maybe. And of course, Jon won't see the game either. Because he'll be on the plane with us going to send text him the updates. Yes, FaceTime, John because you know, his wife I worked on the plane. You just go sit by John up in first class, and then you can watch. So Dave Logan. Will join us.

"They kind of stunk last week earned in was terrible three for thirty four going into the bye. I don't pick up Herndon. No Watson had one from one. Almost had a touchdown. I don't care. He he's a risky play. CJ Uzzaman hasn't capitalized on a lack of Tyler I for or Tyler Kroft. He doesn't seem to be a core part of the offense even without AJ green. And he got he has Baltimore coming up. The the only one I'm looking at little bit sideways. Jeff Hier men in in Denver. But Jason made a pretty compelling argument. As to why he was used the way he was used coming off of week nine ten for eighty three and a touchdown. Looks really nice. But you're playing with fire there. I mean who are your favorite pickups at the tide imposition. But don't have any you. It's one. It's Vance McDonald dance McDonald if he's there, right? But a Jeff Harmon is interesting. He is the fourth most red zone targets among tight ends. He. He it is. We only have the one game sample. That's that's what's upsetting about this coming off the bye week. And what I mean by one game sample. I mean after the trade of Damaris Thomas hire men was the man who picked up the slack in filled that target. Void you had hoped. Sutton would see this huge surge in targets. But it went to the tight end position. He's interesting native in net. Yeah. I was just going to bring him up. I hate to say it because I wanted it to be a Dixon, but Monette has been involved. He wasn't you know, he didn't do much in his last game out. But he down Green Bay second in the league against opposing tight ends. Yeah. I mean, I in this landscape. I think you could do worse than Nick Vinet. Yeah. It's it's gross. I mean, maybe you take them. If you say Joan who Smith, but Jonas Smith doesn't run a lot of routes. You have George Kitto rob gronkowski or David joke. You there on by this week's you're making this decision. Well, Ricky seals Jones is a name. That's enough. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Nine targets five or sepsis for fifty one yards gets Oakland. You know, he's run the tenth most tight end routes. That's more than e Bronner read or Howard. And the last two games with odds of coordinator change, thirty six and thirty seven routes which a lot for tighter. So he would do he would probably be a head of some of those. I agree with you Vance McDonald if he's there that's the pickup outside of him..

"We're here every Monday between six and seven giants lead the Niners seven three early. Second quarter. Jeff Harmon standing tied into the Broncos our guest here for the next few minutes. And so we invite you to to drop by if you're in the in the area, we were talking about your family starting football until you're in ninth grade, if in your fiancee, you're getting married next year, and if you are blessed with children have you have you come to the decision as to whether or not you would let your children play football. I would you know, I don't I don't have that belief of football is bad for you that you know, some people have out there for. I think honestly for me football was you know, kind of what set my life on the path. It's kinda gone. Having such an influential high school coach how he. Demanded you know on the field off the field. There was no, no tolerance. I mean. You know in highschool guys, you know, kids can go one way or the other and question and having you know, him, and you know, the way he taught the game to me. And the way he, you know, kind of made me handle myself at football translated into off-the-field, which just kind of set me up. I would say for college and NBA, and you know, that's kind of one of the reasons I was talking about, you know, wanting to be a high school coaches iron see. You know, what they can do for a kid's life? You know, when you're young, you know, like, I said, you can go one way or the other. You know, a lot of good kids end up going the wrong way. Just based on a lot of different as down decisions, and maybe not the leadership in their life that you would you would hope for do. Stay in touch with your high school coach. I do. Yes. He is is still coaching. He is he coaches at Appalachian state. That's where he went to college. So we we take a bus from Naples, Florida to Boone North Carolina. Fourteen hour bus ride, you stopped three times and eat McDonald's Chick-fil-A, right? And we'd go up there for a football camp for four days. And it was the worst four days. Life. You wanna talk about love football. Right. Did it was the longest worst four days ever dorm with? No, Eric, exactly imagine, no dorm, no air. I mean, you know, there's no there's no NCAA to protect you from five AM workouts. Oh, you got too many hours on the field today that none of that? It was you were out there until the coach has got too tired.

"Because you you hear people all the time. You know, like about Alabama this year. Alabama played, you know, buffalo Alabama would win always say no Alabama would not win. But what what are two or three of the biggest differences you found? I would say I mean, obviously the. The most glaring one is you're planning NFL guy every week. You know, it's the NFL when you're in college, you know, being in the big ten and planning at school like Ohio State. You'll see four five six seven guys year, maybe tops that are NFL caliber guys NFL starters. But yeah, the, you know, the biggest differences every everybody's a professional playing some guys that aren't gonna make it past college to, you know, the play speed speed, obviously. Yes, it's the same thing. I mean, you know, it's it's so much faster. This. Just I mean part of it is the, you know, the athletes everybody is a professional athlete. Everybody's a pro. And also, I mean, you know, offense defense has the way they scheme against each other in the NFL. It's I mean, it's boom, boom, boom. And I mean, that's one of the things that you know, you see a lot of the no huddle stuff. You know? We we run a decent amount of it. Yeah. And so it's gonna be on your game. And you can't sit there and think about the previous play what this and that you gotta you next play. You know, sometimes there's no huddle in your snap in the ball and fifteen seconds. So I would say not the biggest thing. Yeah. Speed just playing playing the pros. So we are we're halfway through it. It's six twenty nine again. Monday night football, the Niners lead the giants three nothing. This is Bud Light Broncos primetime. Our guest is Broncos Jeff Harmon. He's going to be here till seven o'clock. "From the Hyundai text radio studio, either Jose, John Harris, so glad to be with you boy, replays so much more fun to put together when the Texans win. I gotta be honest. Those first few weeks there's little tough putting together replay man, really really hard. There's a great place those games. And so it really made the ultimate eleven. It was okay because I could pick out some good moments. But then I had to emphasize some really tough moments. I wanna Texans have been winning and the way they've been winning. There've been a lot of good place to pick from. I don't have to pick any rough place. I don't have to pick a Jeff Hier mid touchdown. I don't have to pick up a fourth and one that didn't go. For the Texans. They they didn't convert I could pick all the good stuff for our ultimate eleven and that's working to Texas replay. We look back. We look back at the previous week's game. Which in this case with the sixth straight win against the Denver Broncos nine hundred seventeen and we break down the author Levin plays of the game. Now civil. Are the most are the sexiest place, including the one that will start with that number eleven, but I tried to hit on the most important place in the game. Now. Well it Texans win. I try to if I can avoid some of the key plays on the other side the place that look make the opponent, look good. But there are some key plays on the other side is well like I mentioned a few of the fourth down. Stop at the Broncos ended up. Getting the kept watch off the board for the Texans. The touchdown Jeff Harmon up third down. They made no standard fourth in eight replay in Denver. I'd had some stuff to work with but of doing to Houston, and we get to celebrate six in a row now y'all through eleven there was plenty to pick from. So there were a few plays that ended up being left on the cutting room floor. Say this seventeen yard completion to deandre Hopkins. Second down and eleven at.

"Touchdown. Jeff Harmon case keenum thing through a keyhole played and between two players a touchdown pass a twelve yards and we are tied at sixteen. Plant musical chairs here on Bud Light Broncos primetime Brandon krisztal now in for Dave Logan, Ray, Kroc. It's here is Rick Lewis is off this week. David Bruton Super Bowl fifty champ. Former special teams captain longtime of your Denver Broncos nice enough to hang out with us. And I think Dave description of that throw it through a keyhole. I couldn't believe Jeff Harmon came up with that you and I were different vantage points stadium Ray. It look like that is getting picked off or at least not down. No, actually, I felt like I said I felt that was a big NFL throw. And throw the case is very capable. And I've seen him make that throw even when he played at U of H when our than Dallas, those are his best throws or the anticipated. Stick throw like the one he threw to Emmanuel Sanders as well. Because those are own pace in in his vision where he has problems is throwing outside of the numbers because he's only six feet tall. And because he doesn't have a rifle. Right. So he has to put a little more air on the ball. So those balls a little tougher for him to get. But if he has a window for like, we call that a window throw if he has a window in -ticipant at throat, he's good. He I mean, he can make those storms. David you had to cover tight ends covered. In the middle of the field crack at you have said to cover all over the field. So when asked David and then new Ray when a quarterback's able to complete it when you're draped all over a guy how deflating or frustrating because busted coverage you can make up for and say, we just weren't there. But when you're all over and the guys still comes up with it. Especially it's not gronk or Julio Jones. Randy moss or hall of Famer years 'cause fireman is earliest career and see. I have to stop you there. K? I haven't really stopped. I go for it. Because I hear that all the time. I hear all that wasn't Julio or that wasn't Michael Irvin. At all. He's guy gets checked too. Well, then let's let's take the player out of it. Not only are they all scholarship next level scholars. Yes. Let's take the player out of it. No matter who the player is exactly how how difficult is it for you as as a defensive back when you're draped all over a guy, and he comes up with a huge catch. Especially in the end zone. You're frustrated initially. I mean, but again like we just said he's guys get paid to and has a DVD. You know, the whole the old adage, you know, you gotta have a short term memory can't go. You can't let that keep lingering on because you're going to give up a deeper play another touchdown anything like that. If you keep keep, you know, just. Rethinking like what could have done differently on that place in the day. These guys are professional athletes to the position quarterback, mitigate pro. He made a great catch whatever the case may ask where it comes into play. What you just said is that sync were there. I don't care who the quarterback is. I go out there with nameless jerseys because what I go out there to do what I used to go out there to do. I used to go out there to say in this coverage. This what I cannot give up and this is where I need to be. So if I got inside leverage or outside leverage. And that's where I'm supposed to be. I'm gonna make sure I maintain my leverage. I'm gonna make sure that hip and if this quarterback is good enough to throw while I am not. And I can't get my hand in. God bless I'll go to the sideline and get.

"A little. The Broncos game day that I like to get into what the Broncos have to do to win. And it's pretty straightforward. Some of these you can basically apply to the season. It's been written about it's been talked about. And it starts with the quarterback position. There has to be improved quarterback play. And that's why the Broncos went out and signed case keenum this past off season. It was an important piece of the puzzle that they had to provide stability, and I think he brings experience he brings leadership. He brings a calming influence, but one thing is going to have to overcome for sure is he's going to overcome have to overcome adversity. And he's gonna have to be able to kind of work through some of the issues that it takes to get through a game a season. And that's where quarterbacks earn their money. They gotta be going on third down. They gotta be good in the red zone. And they got to be good in the two minute drill. That's where they separate themselves from any other quarterback in the league. And that's where this team lacked offensively. So there's going to be ups and downs within a game. There's gonna be ups and downs within the season. But the key is the if keenum can bring that toys that calming influence, but also that passion with the way he plays the game. The Broncos offense will be much improved. And with that by virtue of being able to provide stability at the quarterback position. You're playing complementary football. You're not leading the league in three and outs and putting your defense right back on the field when they barely even got off the field to sit down and have a Cup of water. Before they got to come back in the game. He's gotta be a pick up at least one first down, preferably. A couple first downs shift field position put your defense back on the field with a long field to defend take care of the football. Don't allow have you defense have to come back on the field and defend a short field. Is it going to happen during the course of the season? Yeah. Probably but as long as it doesn't happen at the alarming pace it happened last year the Broncos plus minus turnover ratio last year, minus seventeen you cannot win in this league. If you're turning the ball over more than you're getting it back, you have to take care of the football in case keenum is a guy that's shown throughout his career. And I know last year was his first full year of starting. He's shown that he takes care of the football. And that's gonna be key. Because I like the odds of this defense when they got to defend a seventy five or eighty. Yard field versus thirty to forty yard field. Which is what they had to do a lot last year, and they still will pretty doggone good. This defense is still the train strength of the team. But the offense has to play complementary football, and it starts with keenum. Extra point number two, again, this this is a point that could apply for the entire season. The Broncos have to have to have to develop a third receiving option. You heard me in the last segment talking about it's a show me year for Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, they're going to step up and be the guys who ever went thinks they could be should be have been. But you've gotta develop that third guy. And I think that third guy could be any one of four people. And if it's all four of them fantastic. Even better Cortlandt Sutton has shown great flashes in the preseason. And throughout training camp. The number two pick for the Denver Broncos outta SMU? Big physical target big catch radius. Great hands wins a lot of these fifty fifty jump balls. He's a guy that could emerge as a number three guy day, Sean Hamilton, another experienced receiver a four year player at Penn State, a guy that has great hands. Catches the ball over the middle catches the ball in traffic. He's a guy that could emerge as number three Jake. But a guy who was highly thought of coming out of college till he blew out his knee. The Broncos get a bargain on him draft him in the fifth round. Basically redshirt him for all of last year. Let him get healthy it's going to take some time. But I think we're going to see him emerge. At that tight end position. I talked with a former Bronco tight end who has a ton of respect for him and primarily because he liked the way he played the game at Michigan. Like, a tight end should with his hand in the dirt. You don't see too many tight ends come out of college anymore. Having had that experience playing with their hand in the dirt. He said Jake. But did he's seen a lot of film on him. He's high on Jake. But and it has a lot of expectations for him and his growth throughout this season for the Denver Broncos another guy through I thought if he can be healthy could look really goodness offense to and that's Jeff Harmon who is a third round draft pick just a couple of years ago. He's coming off his own ACL. He's one year ahead of Jake. But so sometimes psychologically, it takes a full year for those guys to get past that injury because he just you're not comfortable with traffic and tackling and bodies and arms and legs being around that knee. It's like, hyper sensitive until it's fully healthy extra point number three contain. Russell wilson. The Broncos have to be. Just overall consistent with the way, they rush and not going too far outside and running past. Russell Wilson with his feet. They got to contain him with that mush rush style. Keep him in the cocoon. Keep him in the pocket. Don't let him escape and beat you with his feet because he can beat you can beat you. Because he keeps his eyes down the field. Still looking to make plays throwing the football. But he also can be with feet running for a first down if he has to. So those extra points the keys to the Broncos winning today. Keenum bringing stability to the quarterback position. Developing a third receiving option and you got numerous guys to choose from. And containing Russell Wilson. He's gonna get his fair share..

"Mountain, time you hear mom Broncos game day Andy Lindahl with us to get a few thoughts on this one Andy overall what'd you think I. Think it was a pretty, good night Mike I mean you don't, have seen a lot of practices and they, still want to see the the consistent accuracy out a case in the games that we've, seen out of practice but definitely much better than a week ago I think in all phases at least. From the first two teams when you think about what the offense did are you more encouraged based. On. What, you saw tonight Yeah I am, because I think I think they got. A little more creative you know again Mike, is you know they're trying not to show us anything Us necessarily. But in particular the Seahawks for September ninth they want no tape out there I mean I again I find rod Smith. Every week and he's so funny he's so, much fun to talk to you on the sidelines and he's he's truly a fan and he's yelling at me why aren't they throwing, it, up to sudden why aren't they giving him the big ball where you can just go up. And get it theory I. Could come up with was well, they don't want, to show that they don't want to give any hint to Seattle what's coming he thought. That was crazy and maybe that's not the intention but you know I think I think ROY screaming to me is. Taking hold of this running back competition I would expect she's going to be the one, that's the starting back by the time we get for. The opener we'll see who's the one where we. Get out there, on, Friday night against the. Wash the Redskins hersal. That, you've talked about and so on kind of curious to see how this. All goes, but, I think, look I think things happen I think Jeff Harmon For the first time. What three four years Created something for himself. Has. A, buzz, around himself encouraged on all Mike now fairness you went from playing last week and NFC championship finalists to playing a team that can't. Make the playoffs, and is parentally picking hide so you, know I take it for what it. Is but I'm encouraged by what we, saw they did show a flea. Flicker. Tonight which was a, little bit odd yeah Is in the end zone. When that happened at a really, caught me off guard that they would do that and it looked like, case had Sean Hamilton. But just not enough time I guess that's the one. Slightly down part although the offensive line started establishing itself. As the game went on but you know early on still little too much pressure, on case, is, Mike we don't a football games of chess match not. A, quick, game of course and I just feel like we keep judging these guys off quick outing so. I'm, just, gonna go ahead and leave it as a positive you item not even bothered that they lost a matter of fact they kind of. Forgot that they, lost because by the time they lost, it was you know guys they don't. Think you're going to be making this, team finally Andy where do you. Think Paxton Lynch and Isiah McKenzie, stand in the eyes of the coaches now, well I mean you heard Tyler's, pre-game show with me and Tyler said that frankly the coaches were. Pleased with some other guys and is as still it's worked to snag is not. Gonna help I know what Dave Logan said, on argue with the coach. About how you don't wanna hold it against. Him too much and so on and so forth but I think, it sticks with, them so we'll see Paxton Mike I at this point and. I read if you go and read a. Tweet from Nikki accident add a, little bit of a breakdown in the locker room it sounds like I, wanted to get upstairs. To check out some pictures to turnaround quick for Facebook. So I didn't witness it but apparently he was yelling. Izhak with some expletives mixed in between and some teammates were comforting him and this is something, the, media saw so and I can also tell you I. Heard, a, group of fans chanting Kelly Kelly. Yeah we ride at Paxton when things weren't. Going so well eight and a. Game they were near the north end. Out so I think at this point everybody's allowed to be frustrated with first, round pick workout out for the sake of the. Kids it's probably just move. On, yeah I I don't disagree. Andy, thanks good. Thoughts we appreciate the. Time thank. You. Mike there he goes Andy Lindahl who.
