"Steelers fans. What's going on. This is jeff. Harbin senior editor behind the steel curtain dot com with you for another episode of the steelers training camp recap. They have four days in the steelers are about to have a day off but it is a situation where it's time that we go over. What happened on sunday. In regards to the pittsburgh steelers when they are they were at the. Up rooney's sports complex on the south side of pittsburgh. When they returned to practice on tuesday they will be at heinz field. There will be any fans in attendance until wednesday but the pads will be coming on when they report to heinz field and dad should be exciting for everyone that's going to be an attendance So far so good and from the injury front there have been some injuries of noble. Talk about that right off the bat. The steelers are really struggling center. Basically the fact that jaycee has now or did not practice on sunday. He was seen wearing a knee. Brace walking around they said or. I'm sorry that mike tomlin said that he is listed his day to day. Also zach banner. Who's coming off of an acl tear in week. One of last season he has not been dressing. The last few days tomlin hinted that could change once the pads come on Kendrick green who missed last practice on saturday with a personal reason was back so was. Bj fitting antoine brooks junior left practice early but was described as having nothing major so the worst of injuries to deal with in. That's part of camp is part of game as long as you don't have those season ending. Acl's or achilles ruptures. Then you're good for the most part now the the one rookie in it's kind of surprising. When you think about the rookie class you would think you would be hearing a lot about nause harris. I'm sure we will hear more about him. Once they put pads on. I typically when running back shine. Not when they're in shorts and but really we haven't heard from harris today. You hear a lot about pad fryer mus- second round. Pick out of penn state. Marco volley of the athletic says quote steelers. Rookie tight end. Pat firm. youth has been really good all summer including the past four days of camp. He's passed that test but it'd be going big one awaits next week when the pads come on and what mr kabbalah is talking about is his blocking ability fryer muse can run routes. He can catch the football. That's not a problem. He's very athletic. But blocking kenny due to the nfl level we will see also another reporter said that one of the standout place. Today pat farm youth ran a fade into the back of the endzone made impressive toe tapping grab when asked about his impressions of fryer. Me's mike tomlin says he's been impressed in farm. Youth has been readily prepared each day. So good news so far from the second round. Pick out of penn state terra lawson was. The he's the defensive backs coach in a senior assistant for the defensive staff. Vivas of coaching staff. He was asked about ben rothlisberger deep passing and he said quote. Oh he's still got an arm so that's good news when it comes to ben rothlisberger czar. Speaking of the secondary austin said that he wants to keep cam sudden at the outside cornerback position for now and see how the slot position pans out with brooks and arthur molet. He didn't rule out a significant jump. By someone like james pierre. Justin lane changing those plans and putting sudden inside so he's not ruling that out but as of right now it sounds like cam sutton is at least gonna start on the outside of that defensive secondary trae turner was also in front of the microphone today the first time the media got a chance to talk to the newly acquired guard and he spoke glowingly about how he likes the aggressive nature of the offensive line heading into twenty twenty one Talked about adrian klemm at canada. Good news so far on that front. But he also talked about david decastro. When asked about replacing to castro. He said quote. I just look at it like it's a new era a different time different places. Everything has an expiration date at some point quote. Decastro is a great player. And i wouldn't necessarily say. I'm replacing him. I'm just the new right guard and quote so a lot of respect from turner decastro as he takes over that right guard position. Speaking of respect he gave a ton of respect to one former steeler. That's about to get inducted into the hall of fame allen janika who he called quote a living legend and turner hopes his fellow. Lsu tiger will come and see him play he said quote. I have nothing but a ton of respect for mr flannigan admire his game. Been knowing about him. Since i got. Lsu in two thousand eleven. Hopefully i can make him proud and quote so pretty cool to see the lsu tiger connection between new guard trae turner and informer guard allen. Fanta Other news really was that There's been some new wrinkles. Put into the offense of guess. You could say the playbook. They're utilizing so far in camp. Derek watt at full-back a lot more brook prior. Espn was cited. That her favorite player. Today was ben rothlisberger hit. Derrick watt a fullback wheel route. They don't often use the full back in the passing game but nat canada will feature fullbacks more often. That was something that broke. Prior asked mike tomlin. He said to be determined. So like i said that kind of wraps up the first ramp up part of training camp there were no pads no hitting no contact they did team drills but there was nothing that was physical and hitting. That's going to happen in the upcoming week. They have monday off so there will not be any training camp recap on monday. I will be back for this on tuesday. But i have to tell you. "Zula fans welcome back to the second segment of let's ride. I'm your host. Jeff harbin here for the second segment of this monday wednesday friday. Podcast every monday. Wednesday and friday at five o'clock eastern time is when this goes out and the co editor roberta steel curtain dot com. You didn't know that by now but still. We have a lot to talk about still to finish out this friday show. I hope you have a great weekend planned by the way it's for me. It's a rest and recover weekend after last weekend. The nfl draft is so long and grueling for people who cover a team. I don't care if you're a blogger that gets paid. I don't care if you run a website. Like i do or if you are a credited writer from some newspaper i don't care it's a long weekend so this is a restaurant. Recover weekend for me but the news on wednesday was interesting. We'll put it that way. Big our one hundred villain wave. I was asked about this in my tuesday mailbag segment and that was. What do you think about villanueva. Going to the ravens. Is it something we should be concerned with. Is this something that is you know we're looking at is does the steelers have an advantage knowing alejandro villanueva and i answered the question and i was honest about it but then he has his first press conference with the ravens and the media. They're you know they're going to ask him a lot about the steelers you know. They're going to ask him about the military because the baltimore media contingent hasn't had the chance to really ask him these questions. Now there are some that. Cover like for instance. Espn writers nfl network people. They've covered him at all wherever he's been because they might cover the entire. Afc north but there were so comments that were made by villanueva. That i was kind of. Wow i can't believe that you know. I can't believe he said that but at the same time. Let me explain i. He was asked about why he came to baltimore. Why did he choose baltimore. Well the first thing he says that the steelers made it very clear once the season was over that they did not have an interest in bringing him back. I found that interesting. I feel like that was the situation. Maybe where they said. Hey we can't offer you as much as some of these other teams are so you have the green light to go look and maybe we can bring you back. But it's not gonna be for what you're expecting the starting left tackle and we're not probably going to promise you that you would start either it so he's probably looking at the writing on the wall saying i don't wanna come back to this situation. I wanna play. I've been started here. Ever since i got that job as a starter i i wanna play in. So the steelers were never an option. But why did he go to the ravens. Here's what he said. Quote the fact that i knew the ravens is a team that plays hard a team that plays afc north type football. And i get a chance to play the steelers as well with something that motivated me coming here for shore. Oh oh okay all right. I my ears perked up a little bit. My ears perked up a little bit. He little shots fired there at the steelers meaning. He knew he was going to get a shot at the team that maybe he felt that they kind of turned their back on him. Maybe he felt today. He was still playing at a high level and they didn't value him. Let's forget about the fact that the salary cap dipped and you really couldn't pay a left tackle starting left tackle money but that's neither here nor there. Then all of a sudden yeah. He was asked about his time in the service why he left the military But then more red flags went up when villanueva's asked about run blocking because he didn't do a ton of that in pittsburgh let's be honest. He was more of a pass blocker in. He's still good at pass blocking. Here's what he says. I'm assuming it's not as much fun. Running the ball for the receivers because they're not getting all the catches they're making the tiktok in there having fun on their social media and shots fired. Everybody shots are fired. Right across the dow. If you're the steelers if you're someone like juju smith schuster chase claypool eric. Ebron you're saying he says what he said what. Oh my gosh now zach. Banner kinda tried to calm down the fan base a little bit and said al is living in your heads rent-free right now l. o. L. e. o. g. Already i wish him. Well congrats on a great career in the steel city. That's great jack. Thanks thanks we can think for ourselves. We can think for ourselves and then he got jerry of the pittsburgh post gazette anne. Here's a war veteran. Who is of decorated war veteran. Who goes to a new team and says these things and people just turned their back on. It speaks volumes about the fan base. Well you know what jerry you know what jerry. I got a couple of comments for you. And i've got a couple comments for our one hundred villanueva allah hundred villanueva. I still don't hate you man because you're with a new team. You gotta say what you're supposed to say. Did i think you were going to say that. No did i think he would just tell the company line say. Hey i'm not gonna talk about pittsburgh i'm just gonna focus on my time in baltimore. I'm gonna try to make the ravens the best team that they can be did. I think that's what you're gonna say. Yes you chose not to go that route. Guess what you also did. You gave the steelers some bulletin board material so when the steelers play the ravens. Guess what's going to be in your face. A bunch of microphones. You're going to answer some questions. And you're going to have a motivated steelers team to go out there and shut you up. T. j. watt will be ready to shut you up period. That that's is how it's gonna work out that's how it's gonna work out. But then jerry dulack his comment on twitter. I mean i want to read it verbatim. I wanna give jerry the benefit of that here okay. So here's a dulack. Says he says all of a sudden who served three tours of duty in afghanistan and stands up for his is a villain in bad guy because fans think he took a few folks at their beloved football team. That's all you need to know about some fans. Well jerry gerbera. Let me explain this to you. And i said this on twitter you can follow me on twitter at j. h. Ertms underscore pat. I said let me make something very clear. I've said this before. I'll say it again. I'll probably upstate a million other times in that is i root for the pittsburgh steelers. I do not root for individual players. Do i hope those players succeed. Yes why because they're steelers because they are pittsburgh steelers if they leave or when they leave they are no longer steelers. Therefore i do not care i guarantee you. Mike tomlin if he was as it. What do you think about big al hundred illinois waves comments. I don't care. He's on a member of my team anymore. I appreciate the work that he is here but he's not here anymore. So i'm not saying he's dead to me but in 'cause i still do appreciate what he did for the country. I appreciate the worst stadium for the steelers he was very good very serviceable left. Tackle not take anything away from him. But i'm not going to sit here as a steeler fan and say oh okay well whatever. It really doesn't matter because big our hundred villanueva can say whatever he wants. He can see what everyone's i root for the steelers. I don't root for individual players. Do i have players that. I enjoy watching absolutely everyone. That's listening to me. There's a big ben roethlisberger fan. I've always liked rothlisberger since he was drafted in two thousand and four but at the same time if rothlisburger were to leave. I don't know let's say he goes to the houston. Texans i literally just put a name out of a hat in my head. He goes to the houston texans next year and finished his career. Houston am i going to root for the texans. No no. i'm not. If ben talk. Bad about kevin colbert and mike tomlin. Am i gonna care. No am i going to have to write the story. Yes but am i gonna care. No i'm not gonna care. I really don't care big. Al can say whatever he wants like. I said earlier he has to. He's in news city really since he came into the nfl. He was with philly for a cup of coffee as defensive lineman and then pittsburgh picks them up and turns into a left tackle. He's been in pittsburgh ever since and so. He's in a new city with new expectations. He's going to say things that maybe rub his former team the wrong way. I don't blame him. I don't blame him for because he's got to try to find his niche with this new team and he's gonna talk about running the ball more he might take some jabs whatever. Whatever i'm a fan of the steelers not individual players. If the. I don't know how to make that more clear. I really don't so that's all i want to say about that. That's all i want to say. I wanted to get that off my chest. I'm a steelers fan. I don't root for individual players. I root for players succeed because they help the steelers..

"Got me a sega genesis. This is weird. Genesis controller was a lot bigger yet. Abc and senators be the games. Were definitely more sophisticated. I'm not sure how many bids ahead or anything like that. But i was always been a huge sports guy and so back in the early nineties. I was all about hockey. I loved hockey. The pittsburgh penguins were amazing to watch. I loved mary lemieux and the years that he and yager play together. We're just if they were so much fun. They were so much fun to watch. And there's a minor league hockey team. In wheeling wheeling thunderbirds is what they were called the time. Now that the wheeling naylor's we were season ticket holders. We went every single game. I loved and still do love the game of hockey and so games like nhlpa ninety-three in any joe ninety five and h. o. Ninety seven. I played those things to death to. Death is a known commodity. My parents knew that. Got me joe. Ninety five. I'm gonna play that thing until i can't play anymore if it's not nice and i'm not playing hockey outside because i grew up playing hockey joe montana. Football is another game. I loved on sega genesis. But then i one year my birthday which is in february. I get a game. It's a basketball game in. My dad says the guy. The store said this was a good game. A lot of kids like it so we thought we'd give it to you. It was on sale. Like what what. What is this i that the nba nba. I'm not basketball guy. Pittsburgh doesn't have a basketball team. What is this. What in the world is this. He said. Just give it a chance. The game was nda jam okay. Now if anyone was old enough if you're like me my age thirty eight years old you remember mba gm because nba was a tremendous basketball game. It was awesome so once i gave one i actually gave it a shot and i actually played the game holy cow i loved. It loved it. There's the whole steamer if you hit like three threes in a row there was a he's heating up and he's on fire. The ball would actually be on fire. And you were doing these flips. When he did it was great. A great video game awesome game how what does segi genesis and nba game have to do with this draft. Class will just like when i got that game. I said what is this. There are a lot of picks in this draft that people were saying. What is this mainly isaiah louder. Milk trading into the fifth to get him. What what is this. What is this in buddy. Johnson what what is this like. What is this come on. Maybe just maybe just like india. Gm it's gonna turn out to be really good and you're going say i never. I don't know why ever doubted this. This game is great players. Great maybe they allowed. The milk is going to be the next player. That takes over for cam. Heyward or steph onto it. Maybe buddy johnson is the next vince williams two point. Oh maybe just a little bit more athletic. If that's the case heck yes let sign. Sign me up. let's do it. let's go. I feel like i'm kendrick. Green when he got the call from mike tomlin gets off the phone. he takes his sunglasses. Slams i'm on the ground looks like he's about to rip his shirt off. He's all jacked up the dues rate. Hit somebody maybe. We'll get something to think about something to think about folks. Maybe just maybe these players are like the nba m. game. I guy back in the nineties. "Those stats question. Those are great. Thanks for tune in here with me. This morning i feel really bad. That i didn't look up. And see where the steelers ranked with a number of three and outs they add. I gotta bring you that one next week. Because that's when i'm even more curious about rather than just the number but where that put them in the nfl so I just gotta make noted that make sure bring that back to you but make sure you're checking out all the audio pod podcast that we have on our platform. We gotta figure out what kind of numbers we wanna talk about week in and week out so hopefully this kind of helped explain a little bit of what happened throughout the steelers season. Hopefully you weren't too upset by my frustration at the beginning that yes. We can look at the whole season and we don't have to focus on what happened in that season game in order to do everything they can to build on what the steelers did and twenty twenty so once again. Thanks for the most important a row..

"I might have to update you with that next week. But on on those drives the steelers forced eighty punts on the season eight months but and fifty of them open ended. Came on a three and out. Which if you think about that. That's kind of crazy. That's that over that over half their their punts came because they'd had a three and out that's insane so from that. I also wanted to say well. How the defense do i just took the question. A little bit farther. Say what happened with the defense with that they did. did they. Force more three and outs than what the what the offense gave up and the answer is yes they did. They did give up Force more of them because they forced fifty five three and outs on the season. Which means that and that was on eighty six punts that they forced and and that so they did even better than the offense if you look at it so it's just kind of interesting to see how that came out but that was a good question but he had to questions yet another one that wasn't is related and i thought this was pretty good and this is going to be the last one that we look at here on this episode and that was how many players drafted by the steelers in the last five. Years are still in the nfl. When it comes to that question. I actually need to. I look at it the other way around because how many players were versus. How many players weren't there. Were with the last five years so this was from two thousand sixteen on and the steelers have made. Thirty seven draft. Picks out of those thirty seven draft picks. Now not all these teams are the steelers and all these players are with the steelers. But there's only five of them who are no longer in the nfl. just five. Because yes shockingly jeff harbin's gonna love this one but he's got to know that yes call it holda. The long snapper is still in the nfl And was actually with the with the san francisco forty niners last year and i think he signed on Signed on think futures contract with With the rams that's what is he has a futures contract with the rams so he's still in the league but there are five players that are not in the league so the easiest way to do is the. Let's go back for this and we'll go through these five. And here's what's crazy about these. They are all either sixth or seventh round draft picks. They're all either six or seven two hundred six that's insane so that means anyone drafted by the steelers and the fifth round or above in the last five years is still playing in the nfl so or at least played or was with the team in some some form in two thousand and twenty so if you go back to the two thousand sixteen draft every two players that are no longer in the nfl one. Oh one was seventh. Round draft pick demarcus airs wide receiver. He was with the steelers. He played two games with the steelers. He's actually the only person on this list while he played games. I think he played yes. They were both with the steelers. He's the only player on this list. It's actually credited with playing. Nfl game the other four players did not even play that game. But the marcus. Airs was with the steelers. He chose to go sign when he didn't make the team in In two thousand seventeen he chose to not sign with the steelers practice squad and go sign with the patriots because he thought he probably had a better chance of getting bumped up to the main roster he did not. He didn't last long they didn't even last month. Spent some time on the chicago. Bears practice squad he ultimately. This was all in two thousand in two thousand seventeen. He ultimately ended up playing in the xfl and is now in the cfl in the canadian football league in that same draft. Two thousand sixteen travis feeney linebacker outside linebacker. He was on the steelers practice squad that season at the end of the year. Got poached by the saints. Now what we mean by poached is at the end of the year sometimes if teams feel like they have an a a viable spot on their fifty three man roster though look at other teams practice squad guys signed them at the end of the year and then that way they have them going into the next year. That's what happened to feeney. But then he got cut in the off season never ended up back in the nfl. He did play a f- before it collapsed and he's also playing in the canadian football league. Now two thousand seventeen kion atoms linebacker seventh round draft. Pick He was he was with the steelers on the practice squad. He was released in twenty nineteen and ended up with with the giants and then ended up when i are. He's also the canadian football league in two thousand eighteen seventh round draft. Pick joshua frazier did not make the steelers roster or practice squad that year. He ended up the lines. Practice squad for I think it was four weeks maybe And then was released. He played in the af and then he announced his official retirement from football in two thousand nineteen but I don't know that anyone was knocking down his door. And then the the the fifth player is sutton smith from two thousand and nineteen. He was a sixth round draft pick. He spent time on three different practice. Squads and twenty nine thousand nine one of which was the steelers. I remember he was signed for a day at one. Point brought back for a day and then released and then was brought back again. He was on jacksonville's practice squad. He was on seattle's practice squad. He was not with any team in two thousand and twenty even with expanded practice squads. He was not anywhere that i could see. He had played at all. So i don't know if he's still tried for the nfl or not so. That's only five players out of thirty seven draft in the last five years that are not in the nfl anymore. All the rest of them in the league so out of thirty seven thirty three of them have played in at least one. Nfl game which you when you think about that is fairly impressive. So that was that was the questions makes you keep them coming if Stl or superfan dad at twitter. Stl are superfan data at mail dot com by keep looking for.

"Podcast. I'm your host jeff. Harbin in this is the part of our week that you get so accustomed to certain things happening so accustomed to friday show coming out of the break. Just gonna do his picks. There's no game this week. The super bowl is two weeks away will only have about one week left. But there's no pig segment. That's really sad as really disappointing. But we're still going to power through. Were still going to talk about everything. And so let's talk about the next factor. I said there were three. We already talked about one with the salary cap. The next factor as to why this offseason is a critical period in pittsburgh steelers history and that is none other than the man that art rooney talked about the most when he met with media on thursday. That was benjamin. Todd rothlisberger honest when you look at the salary cap situation. And that's why. I said that. I when you look at that caps situation it so tough to just kind of say well outside of our office burgers forty one million dollar cap it. You can't say that if they were to somehow go down to that floor that one hundred and seventy five million dollars in you're talking about one player making up forty one of that one seventy five that i mean shoot pittsburgh pirates stuff right there you know. Let's pay one guy all this money and everyone else gets piddling. It just can't happen in art rooney talked about. They want ben rothlisberger back in. That might be the news that you don't wanna hear on friday. In ben rothlisberger in his agent came out and said they want to come back. But there's this giant but not talking about like a human but on talking about a but like you know in a sentence they want then back ban wants to come back but there's at forty one million dollar issue that they need to figure out and i'll say this again say a million times because dave scofield says it all the time and that is ben. Rothlisberger is not due to make forty one million dollars in twenty twenty one ben rothlisberger salary cap. Hit is forty one million dollars in twenty twenty one. I think he's due to make about nineteen million but his cap hit has increased because of the restructuring of contracts so art rooney says we want ben back for short and i get it look at the depth. They have behind him. Mason rudolph and dwayne haskins. That's it right now. Not the most confident. You know. it doesn't give you that warm fuzzy feeling deep down your belly thinking oh this is so nice. This is exactly what we won the get that feeling you get the feeling of. Wow then doesn't come back might be in trouble. So rothlisberger wants back. They want him back and he wants to come back but they're all saying the same thing we have to figure out what to do with his contract and what scares me as a fan is that i'm afraid of what they're gonna do to get the contract decreased. Put that way if rothlisberger means what he says and he did come out on thursday as with his agent and they put out a statement. The basically said we want to come back. We don't care about the money will do whatever it takes to make it work for the steelers. It's essentially not verbatim. Were paraphrasing here. But that's what he said. So when you say that okay how creative can this steelers give the contract. you still owe. You still owe that forty one million. You're going to have to pay the piper sooner or later. So what did you say. Well why don't we give me an extension That's the worst thing i wanna hear. I really worst thing. I want to hear because if ben wants to come back after the season. I'm all for it if he's playing. Well i just don't want to just keep kicking the can down. The street is an analogy. I use every week. It seems like he keep kicking the can down the street. Eventually you have to pick it up and so the steelers could give him an extension. Give him a lot of that money via the signing bonus and then they can defer the money later down the road. I saw someone on twitter. He suggested a four year extension. You basically bumped the money back you give them a signing bonus you can get his cap hit down like maybe one something one point. Whatever million in twenty twenty one. That sounds great but eventually you're gonna have to pick it up so the steelers have to be smart. They have to be creative. I think at this point whether rothlisberger comes back or not. I think it's kind of a moot point. We were at one time saying is he gonna come back. Should come comeback to. The steelers won him back. I think at this point when the when the team president comes out in the quarterback himself come out and say i want to come back and we want him back pretty much sealed the deal in my opinion so rothlisberger him coming back boy. Do they need to have his contract. Locked up away in a way. That is really really manageable for this team. The worst case scenario is rothlisberger. Plays twenty twenty one with a forty one million dollar campaign when we talked about that salary. Cap could be disastrous. So ben rothlisberger clearly is one of these reasons because let's talk about steelers history. He's a big part of it in this offseason. If the steelers botch this he walks away in the team goes into the tank. Were always gonna point back to this offseason in say if they just would have done this or if they just would have done that if they could have just gotten this deal done. That's this that's how important some of this stuff is. We're talking about here. So the salary cap was number one rothlisberger and his contract was number two. Now let's head to the third and look. I don't think that one is bigger than the other in this situation me. I don't think that the salary cap is larger than roth. Asperger's cap hit this coming up. I don't think that the other way. Around and i also don't think that the ridiculous number of free agents that the steelers have you know what to be honest with you when i think about it as i speak out loud. All three of these things are intertwined. You look at rothlisberger. What they do with him is also based on the salary cap. The salary cap ward. Go up to two twenty this year. They probably just pay then his forty one million and then be done. But that's probably not going to happen. These free agents talk about well if the salary cap worn influx they would sign the ones they want to keep and they'd let everyone else walk and they'd get compensatory picks for them. But when you look at this list of players. Wow i mean i can't. I've been covering this team for behind the curtain dot com for probably six seasons. Now seven. i don't even remember and goodness gracious..

Todd rothlisberger dwayne haskins dave scofield ben rothlisberger jeff Mason rudolph thursday twenty forty one million dollars twitter two weeks seven forty one million six seasons three Harbin ben. Rothlisberger forty one rothlisberger one hundred and seventy five m

"Steelers fans welcome back to the second segment of. Let's ride. i'm jeff. Harbin your host of this monday wednesday friday. Podcast all about the pittsburgh steelers. In like i said i wanted to do in the offseason every wednesday and if this is popular it can continue all through the regular season every wednesday being my qna via twitter. So if you don't have a twitter account you can create one for free 'cause nothing you can only you can follow me in a couple of other people i don't care ed's at j hartman h. a. r. t. m. a. n. p. t. You can follow me. And then just wait for me to tweet it out and so i always tweeted out with the gift said i'm starting steelers. Mailbag qna segment every wednesday. On my ride podcasts. Consider this the first call for questions. Fire away and so i had a bunch of questions that we're going to go through each each of them. I'll give you my best answer. That i can if you asked me about college prospects. I'm i'm going to have to give you general statements but still here we go. Let's get this thing started. So first question is from kalaniiki. I'm not sure. If i said that correctly i apologize. Did they asked. Do you think the championship window closed. Considering that was one of the best incomplete rosters. We've had in a long time with a chunk of the guys. Getting a brings truck in leaving or aging. Is the window closer. Essentially he's asking if i agree with him. I said it just before the break. This team was built win. Twenty twenty. I don't know if i'd say the windows closed i do trust the organization to try and fill gaps. The biggest gap though is a quarterback. The biggest gap is a quarterback vinny. Days been proven. If you've watched the last decade of of football's if you don't have a quarterback you don't have a chance and it's just one of those situations so the steelers not having been rothlisberger whether he plays in twenty twenty one or whether he hangs it up afterwards. There's going to be a gap and the steelers are going to need to find that x. quarterback and if they're gonna continue to be successful we're talking five hundred and above. It's going to be difficult to find that next quarterback think about what had to happen to get ben roethlisberger. Two thousand and three. They finished six and ten. Tommy maddox era was officially over. Vegas ben rothlisberger with the eleventh overall pick. That's kind of what has to happen. I'm not saying that's what i expect to happen. It's i'm not saying that's what i want to happen. But i'm saying that's kind of what has to happen. I'm not saying it's closed as yet put it that way robb. I hate to say this. But i think ben should retire slash be released with the steelers eating the dead money that way they can keep young players and began retooling. It's not the finish. I want for ben but it might give them the best chance to rebuild sooner. What do you think. I when i look at the numbers. I look at the salary cap savings and especially with the fact that they're over the cap right now they're gonna have to get compliant and i look at the the sheer numbers. It makes me think agree with you. But when i think about the product. And i think about mason rudolph being the quarterback and twenty twenty one and then him being an unrestricted free agent after that season. I'm thinking what in the world are. We going to be entering another area. That is mike tomczak. Neil o'donnell and i could go on and kordell stewart eventually. Tommy maddox are we as fans about badge experience that if that's what if that's what. It is goodness gracious. Give me one more year. Ben rothlisberger the debts the differing sides of my brain right now. One side says yes. Let him go. Let him walk. Save the money. The other side says take one more year of ben and then worry about it later. I just don't know which side of my brain is. Is winning that debate right now. I haven't decided yet. Dale s in looking at the cab. Who do you think will be the one guy that will get cut. That will either be a surprising or be caused the most amount of damage from either a fan of standpoint or even a talent standpoint so a the most surprising i think is not going to be a lot of surprises. I think you're gonna see some retirements it or not. I think that alejandro villanueva. He's an unrestricted free agent. So i can't really put him in there. I think he's number tire. I could see marquees pouncey retiring in that would save them from having to cut someone markey's pouncey gotta hope someone like david. Decastro is going to regain his form. But i i could see david decastro. Retiring he was so close with that group with villanueva. Pouncey when ramon foster was there even when you go back to marcus gilbert. When he was that line was so tight end of all. These guys are leaving. I could see him saying. I don't need this anymore and just walk away that that. That might be the most surprising. I think you might be some see some surprising retirement or people stepping away. 'cause the most amount of damage In terms of cuts. I think hayden getting cut would be a big one because i think that a lot of fans myself included stinky still has some good years left in him but ultimately i think the retirement will be the most surprising thing.

Neil o'donnell Ben rothlisberger marcus gilbert villanueva Tommy maddox mike tomczak six mason rudolph alejandro villanueva ben roethlisberger eleventh david ten three rothlisberger five hundred each hayden Decastro david decastro

Get it at mcdonald's when he get to of your faves two six bucks. Only practice and participation may vary singled him regular price pittsburgh steeler fans. Welcome back to this wednesday episode of let fraud. I'm jeff harbin your host for this monday wednesday friday morning. Podcast things have died down a little bit. I feel like the dust is settled on the steelers horrible loss on sunday night against the cleveland browns and the wild card. That does not mean that. I'm still happy. I've never happy. It doesn't mean that. I'm content with what happened that i've accepted it. I mean you have to accept it because there's no going back and changing the result. But ultimately i think about this forty hours seventy two hours after depending on. You're listening to this. I feel like you know. I've kind of wrap my head around. Where the steelers are right now. I'll tell you where. I'm not right now is in the mood to watch football. I don't know what it was monday night. I finished my work for the website. And i go and i sit down and i turn on the television ago. The national championship game is on alabama and ohio. Say that should be a good game. I just. I'm not a big college football fan anyways in those. That have listened to me for a while. No this i feel it gets to water down. There's too many teams in only at a tuna teams but the quality of play between conferences is just really does. It's a very stark difference in look at the big twelve where they play no defense compared to the big ten at night and day that is absolutely night and day so i typically will wait until the steelers you start to really figure out and they look at the combine. They start bringing in pre-draft visits. That's when i started going to narrow my focus a little bit. But i sat down to watch television. I don't watch a lot of television as well. I could watch the national championship game more. I do have all the the episodes of yellowstone on my dvr. Which i've already watched watch reruns of that. And i just am not in the mood to watch football. This happens every season for me. I would not be shocked if this weekend. Divisional round weekend. I'll check in on the games. I'll check my phone. My fans will line up in my lead. That i run. I'll check you know. Just maybe here there. I'm not going to be sitting down and watching a bunch of football. I just get disgusted. I find myself saying i especially the browns the browns and chiefs game. I don't wanna watch that. I don't wanna sit sit there and wonder up. The steelers would have won. They'd be in buffalo. And i'm very fickle about that so just to give you a heads up as a listener. That's what happens. Good goes through my head when a steeler season is over like last year last two years when they didn't even make the playoffs. I didn't watch a lot of playoff. Football say what you want. That's just the way that. I am just the way that i am speaking of playoff football i was. I wasn't gonna start with this. But i was like i'll start with it. And then we're going to get into the real nuts and bolts here and then in the second half of the show. I went to twitter. And said hey. I'm looking for every wednesday. Every wednesday i wanted to do on wednesday morning podcast so qna look a mailbag section segment. Whatever you wanna call it. So i put it out there on twitter and boy. Did the fans respond a ton of questions. A lot of really good questions that i'm going to do that all on the second segments to stay tuned especially if you ask a question that's when i'll get to it. But speaking of the playoff games. I was watching on twitter. This is before the steelers played says the bears and saints game. And i see everyone on twitter talking about this nickelodeon game and i see some clips on twitter of you know the the slime zone and spongebob fat face between two field goal posts. And i'd sitting there thinking what in the world is. This insulated quote tweeted a video and said the nfl should be embarrassed. They should be embarrassed. And whole my gosh did. I get lit up. You don't have to watch it blah blah blah and. Here's what it came down to. It all came down to this for me. Everyone's in first things. And i to tell many people do you know it's okay to disagree. You may love it. That's great. I don't have to like it because you love it and you don't have to hate it because i hate it. The this is the world this is what the world has come to in. especially in the sports landscape. Don't even talk about politics. But in the sports landscape easy. Either you're with me. You're you're against me. Never in a million years. Have you seen people say. Oh yeah you know that's fine. You can think whatever you want know. Everyone has to feel the same for some reason. I don't know why so. I get into all these disputes and back and forth with these fans about how i didn't like it and go. They're trying to bring in a younger demographic. Look i know why they're doing it. They're doing it because if you look at the age of the average football fan it's not getting younger unlike the nba. The nba's getting younger. The fans are watching younger age. They're enjoying it. they're getting into it. The football fans are getting older. Meaning the demographic like myself were considered the younger audience may be getting into the twenties but down into the teens. You're talking middle school kids. Maybe an elementary school kids. They're just not as interested as they once were and so the. Nfl's doing whatever they can to try to capture that audience. And i get it. I get it. But here's what i don't get in here is the point i was trying to make with my tweet and i should have worded differently. Whatever hindsight's twenty twenty when i'm looking at this game. The football game of football. I did not need a nickelodeon was around when i was a kid. By the way. I did not need slime zones and cartoons behind players on the screen for me to get interested in the game of football and so i don't ask wise the nfl doing this asking what the world's going on with our kids that they're not interested in this game. I have a son who's twelve years old and he loves football. He doesn't know a lot about it..

All about the offensive line and I gotta be honest when to give credit here. One of my followers on twitter listen to my Monday show and he started talking about the offensive line he was Kinda. and. He said I, don't Know Jeff. I don't know about this offensive line they're getting. A little old is what he said. And so I thought about it and I said, well, let's let's talk about this. I said maybe I'll talk about this on Wednesday so I did some digging. And I'll tell you what the the title of this episode should give away my take on it. Nonetheless, it is that. In Two, thousand twenty, the offensive line you should not be worried about. You should not be worried about the office of line in two, thousand and twenty. There's a lot of other areas of this team that you could be concerned about you could be concerned about the quarterback. Ben Rothlisberger hasn't played since week two last year he's coming off a season ending elbow injury. His the death on my Gosh Brew Tax Lynched Evelyn Hodges? That's it. You can be sued concerned about that. The running back position. James, Garner can stay healthy after that's very unproven. Denise no junior karat, White Anthony McFarland. Jalen. Samuels will even when he gets removed from the reserve covy list. You could talk about the linebacker and safety depth and I'm talking about inside linebacker in safety depth. You concerned about that Minka Fitzpatrick, it's hurt. Devin. Bush? Gets, hurt. Yeah, that's a concern that is. You could talk about the health of key players players that are known to have injury Issues Eric Ben Rothlisberger Vance McDonald James Connor Markey's penalty steph onto it..

"How would you run this? Play and Blah Blah Blah. Well you take your Senator Pool. What they're like. Yeah if you WANNA run that play you gotTa Have Center? That can pull. And they're like okay. We can't do that because that's not what everyone does with their center but it is with the steelers and that's what makes them that will give them the advantage. Would they have that center? That can do that. And you missed that and that was something that I felt. I like to be Jay Finney. I thought he was better at guard because he wasn't that Super Athletic Guy. That could do the stuff at center. The steelers would like them to do. That was my answer to that question. A man I wish I was caught up in the live chat to see how people were were responding to this. We're going to go take one more question because the owner we've been having is our if you're listening to some podcast for you may have missed some shows along the way or or they came out really late because we're having problems anytime. A Youtube show hits the one hour mark of actually getting the Audio. And if you don't get the audio we've we've just lost part of her audience so we want to make sure that we're getting this out as big of audience as we can. I'm going to dominates answer one real quick before you do that because it was down here. Okay for it's we're going to do just Nathaniel asked is going to be a Q. And a. After this and the answer that is this week Nathaniel. There's not we're trying to not throw a gazillion podcasts. At Brian Ethan Davis on his first week of him in the podcast stuff so we are doing just one night. The hope is to go back to two next week. Next week. You'll be. It might be a few weeks. We'll have to see things so get on it so says he's in there if he's still in there. Donnellan asked which is funny. 'cause Donald is the one we were which he's like. Yeah that's me. Were talking about the whole issue of Maryland Maryland. Airbus had this terrible terrible but at least at least you can't ask the question of what are they going to do against different competition because they do go against better competition some of the best competition in. College football. Even though. It's not a very good team. You know you can see the same thing for rutgers. Is it wrecked. The at Rutgers is the other big ten Yep Donald wants to know if you had to choose one player to make the team that has clearly underdog. Who would you think might make it? His his answer is Trey Edmunds. Trae EDMUND is a big time long shot right now because there's just so much so much jeff not nothing quality depth but there's just too many guys in that room. I I don't think has shot. He what I understand a torn for him. Anyone anyone junk jump out at you that you think would be someone that would be a long shot. I got mine. 'cause already predicted the debate. The fifty three give mines do Oregon Muslim practice. When I love that guy. Last year I was has happy. We didn't just cut him. Glad we're able stashing down on the on the practice. All season never rotated him in and out. It was great so I'd love to see him. That's who I'm pulling for. That's my underdog you got wonder. Did I take your answer? I wish to come up with that one because that's a good one. I'm probably going to say white butts goes another one another running back with I. Think with the drafting of the other Maryland Guy What's his name? Whatever but finally yeah it's sorry whereas Yes with driving McFarland. I think that puts white is longer shot to make the team. But I liked him last I I would be pulling for him. Yes I gotcha. That's a that's a great choice. I like the Edmund shorts like the White Joyce the I agree with that one too. That's another good one. West said Dionne Dionne. Kay y'all can't I didn't I have him on the team that's have him on. Yeah he didn't down towards the bottom but I think he probably is there. Yep and they're an honestly. There's going to be somebody emerged during the preseason. You know assuming that everything's still going on schedule like a too skippered. Did last year. No one would answer to skipper at this point. You know but but he was the guy who was born for last year all right. We got to wrap this up so let me just tell you a few things first of all Jeff. Harbin will be on his last host as standard or the Standard Standard. Is The standard tomorrow night. You'll also have jeff back for his last show on the steelers preview Thursday as he moves onto decay Pittsburgh Sports Friday night. "Once. Brian Brian WICE. Well you can. You can add them up. It was three but I will tell you out of those three one of the Times. He was tied but he's still led the team. He was tied with Jason. Worlds in in two thousand fourteen with seven and a half and he had seven and two thousand fifteen the lead the team and twelve and two thousand seventeen which was because he had more than than Tj did in his rookie year. So the question is other than Cam. Who was the last defensive Lineman for the steelers to lead the team in Sacks Brian? I don't know but it's a crazy guess and I'm going to go back to ninety five overnight. Let's go ninety. Four Ninety Five Ninety Five and say Ray seals rank led the team in sacks even on this ninety five team. Seals had that many socks with green and long. I could tell you this as far as I know. I'm pretty sure I'm fairly confident. And looking at the list that seals never led the steelers insects. And do that definitely. That definitely still wouldn't be the most recent that we have to go back to Elsie. That's premium thousand nine hundred eighty two. They didn't keep individual stats right Item I have no idea who is it. It would be in two thousand four and the hammer time. Hold on a second t sour. Stop Hayman Casey. That would be one. Aaron Smith I was GONNA think Aaronson. I don't think he ever led the team in sacks though Yup he led the team in sacks two thousand four Martel Tobin gets the award for comedic performance. Tonight voting. Cam Thomas Enrique. He was wearing skates. That's a good one and actually the year before that different steeler defensive lineman led the team in two thousand and three wasn't Kiesel because that was way too early came now chemo. Wouldn't have led that. You're right yeah. That was Kimo von often. One of the most underrated steelers of all time. So I do have one last question which goes along with live insects. I said it came hayward led the steelers in two thousand seventeen with twelve sacks that was only the third time in steeler history since nineteen eighty two when they started doing individual sacks. Where Defensive Lineman hit double digits? The other defensive lineman hit double digits. Did it twice? And he added that player. Was I'll tell you it was before. Aaron Smith and Kimo von Often Gerald Williams that is actually. I got him going did lead. One-season though willits Keith Willis would be correct eighty six at fourteen in nineteen three good. That guy was too. I was really really. I was really young then but I remember him as some of my first deal games watching okay. Mr Brian Anthony Davis Ready. Yes Sir I am so of course when we talk about steeler defensive lines everybody's GonNa talk about the Steel Curtain Defensive Line of the seventies. Which of course was LLC left Defensive End. Joe Greene Earl? Excuse me Ernie Holmes Mr Arrowhead at the right defensive tackle and one white mad dog white now fast forward to their super bowl in nineteen eighty eight seventy nine season in January of that year. They played the Los Angeles. Rams who represented the steel curtain on in that defensive line who were the four defensive linemen was banned Zach one of them that is correct. He was doing right defensive end. That's exactly what that could mean. Joe Yes you're still there. Elsie was still there L. C. stayed. There wasn't dwight still wasn't there. He was. You're right defensive. Tackle great defensive tackle. See I was. I was not even two years old police or remember who was the other one a good bit in the eighties. He lasted a long time in the eighties was kind of a stalwart a blue collar guy on the defense one gary done from the University of Miami. I believe I got. That wouldn't have gotten that either and one last question Mr Bannon Zach who we talk about who has been coaching in college In the Pittsburgh area for a long time here and there so my question is this when he was undrafted free agent. What's that I know this guy no question? I know the stories go ahead finish the question. Are you talking about? When he was picked up by the steelers what happened. Yes he calls. His father tells his father because they grew up in Cleveland. Yes diehard Brown's hands and he tells his dad just got drafted by the steelers. His Dad do hangs up defence. You think it's rapid steel. He's teachers to go to Pittsburgh. And yes he showed. That didn't talk to Him. For a couple of days he said and then he turned into the biggest dealer fan ever. But it's a huge so. I love that story. Justin Lane is kind of on that same plane. Fact that he his his family diehard browns fans and he gets drafted by Pittsburgh at Michigan State. So there you go. What was interesting is that is. I do have a signed picture from Jon. Benet Zek and that was because my my nephew that is that is my sister son. That is my brother-in-law who I share my season tickets with. They live in Virginia but actually his brother painted their house and saw that they were steeler. Fan says what? My brother played for the steelers. He actually had them come to their house and meet them when he came down to visit in Virginia now since then his brothers passed away. Unfortunately so but yeah because that my my my nephew has pictures with him when he was little and wearing a super bowl ring and all kinds of great stuff. So let me say this. Brian has my copy at I believe currently in this quarantine time. If you find yourself like I've got so much time I could read some books. I don't WanNa be stared at screen the whole day. There's a book by Gary Prominence. Called their life's work. It is the best book on the steelers of the seven easy you'll ever read and I've read several I read. I got a copy of tunnel. Ken's book ahead of time got to read that not that great it. I've read Nin Joe's book they all. Don't come anywhere close to check that book out their life's work. It is phenomenal as I gotta go guys. I'll waiver because Brian as my coffee. I believe you. What do you gave someone else now? It's gone through my Gosh. It was it was a flood casualty and replace it and I didn't know I don't want to read it. I don't know yet by it. I'm a big. I'm a big proponent of passing books on so when you get it I don't want to give it to someone else. That is a steel offensive. Maybe Dave has already give today. Let Dave read it. You'll love it. And then he can give it to big bro rich and then spread the love. That's my theory all right now. Here's here's a little glimpse into the mind of Jeff. Harbin in how it works so I am not for this. Show Uber prepared. We talk of in our little production meeting but I in figuring out just like Brian my trivia question as we're on the air still. My phone's off to the left. I'm doing a little one handed. Google searching here and I were talking about the defense of Front. I looked up. Chris warmly stats. I have nothing that I'm looking for in particular. I'm just looking in. What do I noticed that? Chris warmly in his career has seven past offenses also nugget from Jeff's brain. I get so excited for defensive Lineman to get their hands on the football even in a pass defense hit the ball Naga Down I love it. I absolutely go nuts when that happens. I celebrated almost as much as a sack. Not Quite because and socially whow he has seven. He hasn't been the lead that long. I wonder how many the other defensive Lineman have so I looked up campaign? Of course he's been there for a while he has thirty. I look up steph onto it. He has ten. But I know steph onto an interception. I'm like wow that's interesting. I remember that interception. That was the interception against Cincinnati when any sheldon broke his thumb. If you recall that was on the and he was gone for a year those what about Tyson I'll Allah will. He only has nine Chris warm. That's pretty good so then. I'm looking at these stats. And I'm seeing seven. Pass defenses one interception. Those are the statistics for what player? That's been talked about a lot of her platform this week. That would be that the mccullers show on our platform land. I talked to. We didn't whole show about him the other day. Oh Mr member thirty four. That's right. Mr Terrell Areas Terrell Edmund has the same amount of pass defenses in his career. Is Chris warmly in his tied with Steph onto it interceptions? That's it check please. Yeah I watched. That show was. It was both yours and lenses shows this week. Fantastic staff thank you. We appreciate debuts. Were good to if I would watch them. Oh goodness that's all that's all we have I have heard Trivia but I do want to make sure everyone understands that This show we have The after parties. If you're on live on youtube literally just stick around for a few minutes and you'll see the notification. Come through me back on for the party which we're GONNA talk about. We're a start off the discussion on our all. Decades steelers offense. That's what we're GONNA start our conversation with and then from there. I know guarantees. Brian Has Lee. Did you have your bracket I do have the bracket it's ready to go but I do have Something I do. Want TO MENTION. Sure as a teaser for Monday so as I mentioned earlier in the show you know. We're two weeks away from the draft and we typically do our mock drafts on the Monday show So Tony and I on the QNA will be doing a mock draft. We actually have a special guest from our audience. Here is going to be on the show. I haven't really talked today to see whether he's going to be on the show If he's going to continue to the mock draft this year or if he's Gonna bail out on me I'm just kidding And we also have a Nichelino coming back for two. So we're what we'RE GONNA do is. We're going to go ahead and we're going to draft this week the next week. You're going to do the draft. You in the live chat so what we're going to do on the show we're GONNA have we're going to give you an email addressed to go ahead and let us know if you will be on the show and and we will go ahead and put you in the hat and we're GONNA pick one to thirty two and we're GONNA amounts the draft lineup and just say I'm going to pick a name out of the hat that he is Kennedy as the number one pick. He's the Cincinnati Bengals. He mixed their pick for him. He in what he really thinks it's going to be the next guy up steeler for life. He might be number two. He makes the pick. Does he trade that pick for the REDSKINS? What does he do and so we go? Go down we're going to go one thirty two. It's going to be your show and your mock draft. Yeah if I get the first pick traded to the steelers for you know that you're not in that draft Dave. Yeah No. We can't do that because let's come throw everything off but speaking the steelers glad he said that we're going to all pick at number forty nine who we think the steeler pick is going to be in our draft as well so with that being said. Dave no pressure I just put you on the spot. But that's what we do have coming up so keep in mind reserve your spot coming up on Monday. I will give you the address. And then I'm going to give the other fellas the address to go ahead in a pimp that out all week long all right. Let's look forward to stick with us for the after party on Youtube. "Pittsburgh Steeler fans. What's going on this, Jeff Harbin editor of behind the curtain dot com for take two of the standard is a standard. I want to send out my sincerest apologies to those people that were maybe got the notification that we went live earlier today. Navy it saw that we had done and upload with streamed video earlier today. The reason for that was is we did Lance, and I were on probably around four PM fourth between four and five PM eastern standard time and U2. was doubt. It had crashed in, I just read report, the Bill YouTube is owned by Google and Google had a major crash, a lot of different areas. So this is one of those. So finally started to come back, all of a sudden, it looked like we were fine. We were good to go as we started recording. And we had a really, really solid show in my opinion, and then all of a sudden. Everything. Everything went haywire we finished this shows is about thirty five to forty minutes in length. It was awesome. We talked about safety depth and all this stuff, and we finish talking about with some meters football memories of the Steelers and seven minutes is what we got. Seven minutes went to YouTube. This was not a internet issue with lands was not an internet issue with me. This is a YouTube slash Google hangouts slash, you know, whatever it was not our fault, and I gotta be honest, we left, that up for a little bit because we thought maybe those chance I sent an Email that they might be able to revive some of that content. There were some people, some of you that are always in the live chat. Like how dairy this is the worst show ever? Do you really think that we would publish a seven minute livestream? I know lances show. Yeah. I said it, which is only on audio pot audio podcasting for by the way. I know that a lot of people the he has a short. Her show. But my gosh, we've never done that ever wildly start. Now, if you listened to it, it's clearly, the introductions Lance talks about how he was hung over. And then it skips to the end when we're talking about Super Bowl forty three come on people really seriously. I mean we've been doing this now for a little bit of the year, and we've never once done that why would we start now so calmed out? So I thought, you know, going to delete that when a go on tonight lands is able to do that. He had to take his daughter back to school, and as an Goma myself. That's why I'll have. No. Then the first show we were talking about safeties. And I brought up how the the depth that safety is very concerning to me. You look at the two thousand nineteen roster very concerning and land, and I went we wax poetic about safeties and land said, you know what I will touch on the safeties in my show this week. Yeah, I said it. And I said, okay. That's fine. I can go another. Avenue with the standard is a standard. So I am I'm still gonna talk about the eighties and a little bit. But I also wanna get Gladys eat it. The live chats up and running and all that stuff. I think that Ryan, gosh, this, you some.

"So to speak of the Steelers preview, I'm Jeff Harbin. And I'm according to my wife, I have to be nicer to my co host. His in the kitchen, and I liked to religion to podcasts at just to get a feel for how the flow the show's going what we can improve upon. It's not narcissistic trust me, maybe a little bit. But it's not. And I've she said you're really mean to those guys. And I said, wait a second. I am not mean at all. But you know, what all politics now. We're trying to keep the peace here. Dave Scofield, Brian Anthony Davis accept my apology for being too mean to you guys on the show. Dave go head. Welcome yourself to the show, and you can either accept or shunned my apology that's up to you. I am the youngest of four children. I have I'm not being. Dissed on completely all the time. I feel like people don't love me. Brian idiom this evening spring has sprung Jeff. And so I I don't know what that means. But it just seems right? You know what I accept your apology to? I really didn't think you you should really give me one last week. I think you should give him it when four years ago for all the tyranny that I've faced from you the last four years with TSE, and I may say that I I have met your wife, a many occasion, I consider a friend in. I think she is a Saint I do question her cherries and men sometime, but I think she is absolute Saint I will second that she is a Saint she birth five of my children, our children have you wanna call that. And she still puts up with all my nonsense and less run this upside. So yes, she is a sane. But let's give off let's get this show off to the right start. And that is a lot of people are asking. A similar question in. It's the headline of the episodes headline of the article on behind the curtain dot com in that is why in the world are people bashing then Rothlisberger so much now. Okay. And that's that's what everyone's talking about. It's everyone's asking because you have all these talking heads blowing off air, whether it's NFL network. Whether it's ESPN, I mean, you're getting people coming out of the woodwork. I mean when when Josh Harris who was only in Pittsburgh for literally a Cup of coffee is coming out and making these accusations that he saw Ben Rothlisberger fumble on purpose. I mean, I get that you might be upset, and I'm referring to leave you on bell Antonio Brown. They you might be upset that you're leaving town. In the way that you left town. Maybe the way that you're treated a little bit. But my gosh, he has been drugged the mud repeatedly. I'm not going to say anymore. I'll hold my comments at the end, Brian. What are your thoughts on this whole scenario? And how things run folded. Everybody needs a scapegoat. Chef and the now it's damage control. You have two guys that the entire time. This was going on they were painted as problems TM's painted them as problems the jets took a long time to offer him a deal because there's parts of the upper management that did not want to bring him in because of the potential problems. They see all this stuff going on. Now, we gotta blame it on some somebody and do damage image control. I guess, and that's what these sit down interviews are there. Absolutely ridiculous. The people that are asking the questions have no journalistic integrity whatsoever. Because they're letting them say what they wanna say. But say, hey, wait. What about this? What about this? I mean for lady on bell to complain about not getting carries when he held out because he didn't want to be run into the ground. That's a complete oxymoron. From a moron..

"Uh-huh. Pittsburgh Steeler fans. Happy thanksgiving. I'm Jeff Harbin editor of behind the curtain, and you are with us for another episode of the standard is standard. I'm joined as always of my co host, Lance Williams land, happy thanksgiving, my friend. How are you? Everything's given to you as well. And I want to thank everybody for the well wishes and prayers the air quality is starting to get better out in the west coast down south and up north. So everything starting to stabilize. Thank you guys for that. Yes. Absolutely. If you don't know lands lives in California, they're dealing with wildfires out there. So crazy stuff going on. But we like to keep it a little bit lighthearted here. Relate to talk about the sport of football and in specifically Pittsburgh Steelers. And last night, you know, is crazy week with thanksgiving on Thursday for those visitor. Merican their, you know, Thursday's Thanksgiving Thursdays. Typically preview show we had to bump that to Tuesday. So if you missed the preview show, you can go back check it out Brian Davis. And I break down you have coming game. We talk about fantasy yadda yadda, yadda, all that stuff with Lance. I'd like to talk about more football subjects any. We'll we'll talk about some of the same stuff. But hey, you're gonna get a very different spin from Lance than you do from Bryant not not one is right. Not one is wrong. Way is typically negative. But that's. Okay. So here's what I wanna talk about first lands. And that was the Monday night football game. The Rams and the cheese. And this was the major be main talking point from national media syndicates all the way down to local radio on Tuesday. And that was the fact that they put up a hundred and five combined points, Las Vegas took a big L on this one. I wanna say the over under in this game was around sixty three or sixty four depending on the sports book visited my gosh. Are you a fan of that? Like what were your thoughts on the game you wake up Tuesday morning? You're thinking what in the world? Did. I just watch. What were your thoughts on that game will first of all Europe fit guy, and I'm a fat guy. So after watching this show I was exhausted. Yeah. Was literally exhausted. I I was I felt tired. The game was so exciting. There were so many ebbs and flows in. Emotional ups and downs. I I was just tired, and I thought akin to that type of football acquired taste, you know. It's maybe it's like drinking possibly really good scotch or doing something. That's really in a really intense activity every once in a while. I mean, I got some salacious examples that I could come what with but I don't wanna give those. Doing something really intense for that one time, and it's really good. Maybe it's like your favorite piece of pie. It you eat half the pie this while. I can't have another slice of that for maybe six months. That's how that game was as entertaining as it was. I couldn't watch football like that every single game. I mean that was big twelve. That's why I don't watch the big twelve or I think is the big twelve in college, Oklahoma state. It's just too much. It's too much of a good thing..
