"Fund does big oil care about our streets flooding or are home burning not according to an exxon mobil top lobbyists. Did we aggressively bite against some of the science. Yes we were looking out for our shareholders. Take care about profits. Not people learn more at polluters dot exposed. Yeah i mean. I have guys i have. I have an opinion that i think is not going to be well received. But it's been kind of like forming for some time now. But i couldn't i couldn't say it i felt like i didn't have the ability to say it for a number of years And it's right around. This year comes up every time literally world series. I don't get it. I don't get the little league world series. And furthermore i think some of these kids and this is this is going to be probably divisive. Some of these kids are monsters. I think they're entitled monsters. I've been seeing some of the behavior on the field. I don't like what's going on. I don't like how they're showing up the umpires the umpires maybe not the best but also guys. You're like twelve years old get over. It was terrible or are you talking about that. One thing that went viral or the pitch was like on the ground and then they called it a straight terrible. Yeah and the kid was showing them up at the play. Was your big about who who guests for kid like your life's going to get tougher than just ball being a bobbing called a strike. Okay so like why. Don't we start kinda getting some thicker skin now because things are going to get tougher for you. Also when i was in little league you know what i had. I had like a fourteen year. Old umpiring my gains or like a sixteen year old now like a professional umpiring crew and there were no replays. You just kinda dealt with the bad calls that's called growing. That's what happened in my child. Okay like you guys need to stop acting up and showing up these adults. It's incredibly disrespectful. Also none of this matters. I understand that some of this is going to be the peak of your life and the most exciting thing that ever happened to. You won't get over it okay. Kids wanna one today the shortstop over there hopping up and down because there was another thing though is called a ball that he thought was a strike like. Let's get it together and stop being disrespectful to adults entitled monsters. Zoos playing baseball right now. It's crazy waiting him on so go to school. Okay like schools about to start this whole thing that we time this out after summer's over and then kids miss like a month of school so they can go play in williams wherever the hell it is enough of that go to school get an education because guess what like four literally world series players ever have made as the major so you know what go to school. Winning him was giving a big thumbs up in the zoom here agreeing with billy's polarising and divisive opinions that little league baseball players or monsters and they should go to school. And it's all overrated. Well i needed. I need a little bit of Argument from billy and he convinced me on the monster subject. I was more. I was working to argue on the merits of the entertainment value. I don't get it how this is like a highly rated event. And like i get it when it was kind of like the us versus the world in back in the mid two thousand. I think they still do that before. I just it doesn't. It doesn't register with me anymore. But i think bill he's got a great point which is at. This event has been televised for so many years. Now the kids are self aware. They know that they're being televised. Announce kids are playing in it for the first time. It's not like it's the same kids playing. It's still like it's there's a recognition that this is going to be. A television event and things will become viral. And so you show up thinking that you know. I'm i'm gonna make something of this as opposed to kids. We're kind of went into it. You know all right. I'm to go play baseball. And there's some cameras over the tournaments. These kids have to win just to get to this. How many of them are televised none. That's the point. This is so cool for them. I don't see these kids like these. Like jack and all it becomes a performance at a certain. Okay billy all right. Hold on Because mike ryan fact checker says it's a lot more than jeff burroughs and a couple of kids that have made it from the little league world series. All the way to the big leagues wilson. Alvarez made it jim barberie jason. Bay cody bellinger derek. Bell christian bent accord larval blanks. Sean burroughs kevin cash. Who's a manager. Now gavin worse manager. Ever gavin ca cini chin fang chen. Jeff clement billy. Connors michael core. Fourtou brian esposito fourtou. Well i'm brian. This is michael. Conforto stephen fife jeff frazier the todd. Father jase fry. I'm sorry i did that. Phonetically this is like when you call him a kid in class. read randall. grischuk ben hayes. Was randall grischuk. Up to just out of curiosity as one of these examples. He's still in the league right. I think you picked one. Who's currently still in the leo. What is he doing. he's with toronto. Doing what come on. How many times do i have to this before you look it up. Yeah buddy okay so okay so thirty. Seven people have made the majors. I'm sorry disrespected. K johnson scott kingery. Keith lampard adam. Low and carl carney lansford. That's a pretty good. It's a good name vance lovelace lance lynn. He'll yeah he's on my fantasy team. Jason marquee lloyd mcclendon. Who's he pitching for another cardinals a lance. Lynn i think is with texas or jason. Marquee was jason. Marquis is not so pitching lance. Lynn is though. Yeah he's a white sock..

"Some praise discuss kind of what the heck's going on we'll also talk a bit about the atlanta braves who have gotten hot at the same time now in second place and your third place new york mets. So you mets fans out. There were probably not happy with me when i told you. I i think the mets we're just gonna wait for them to do their thing right. It seems like every year. There's a collapse. Something going on in the mets are always gonna met right so i'm unfortunately it looks like that's happened here over the past couple of weeks as they are now in third place in the national league east and we'll discuss that and then we're going to get into mvp conversation. I'm going to give you guys my best bets here. In the month of august as we are about seven weeks away from the conclusion of the major league baseball season. Now's a good time to get in potentially ahead of the curve and put some money down if you're in a state out there that allow sports gambling to win some cash on who the best bets are on each league's. Mvp we'll run through kind of all the awards. Cy young mvp over the next couple of weeks here to hopefully when you guys some cash at the end of the season was some futures bets jump into our jr richard conversation like i mentioned. He died this past week. The team announced at the age of seventy one. Now the team did not give a cause of death or provide further details but certainly jr smith was an icon and a fantastic pitcher for the houston. Astros as he passed away at the age of seventy one again after looking into his career doing research he just he was a fascinating player. Man and again and unfortunate event brought a sudden end to his major league career. Which was a blood clot in his neck which caused a stroke and forced him to collapse while playing a game of catch before an astros game in the year. Nineteen eighty so. Jr richer was coming off an all star game appearance to scoreless innings in the nineteen eighty all star game and then later that year collapsed due to a blood clot and unfortunately that ended his big league career but some of the numbers he was putting up in the seventies and he was just starting to find himself right. He was only at thirty years old in one thousand nine hundred eighty when he collapsed and ultimately ended his baseball career but jr richard. He was taken by. The astros is the second overall pick in the nineteen sixty nine amateur draft. He was taken right out of high school in louisiana. Jeff burroughs was the number one pick to the washington senators that year. Ted nicholson randy sterling and alan bannister rounded out the top five but jr richards going number two overall to the houston astros. Right out of high school. He then spent some time in the minor leagues before ultimately cracking into the big league lineup in nineteen seventy one where he was sent up and down from the big league level. He had four appearances for starts and nineteen seventy-one. He went to in one with a three four three. Era he then had four appearances in one thousand nine hundred. Seventy two two a tune of a thirteen point five era only throwing six innings so you had four starts in seventy one but only one start in one thousand nine hundred seventy two. He then started to find himself a little bit. More in seventy three and seventy four where he made sixteen in fifteen appearances to a four point..

"Or worst sports promotions of all time. Now, I did this feature you're about to hear a couple years ago, but it's worth revisiting. In my opinion. Here it is. Tonight we go back to June 4th 1974 the scene Cleveland Stadium. The Texas Rangers were in the 216 that night to play the tribe in a game in which they would win due to forfeiture more on that in a minute. These two teams have played just one week earlier in Arlington in a game that broke bad, real bad. The game featured not one but two bench clearing brawls and things really got out of hand when Indians catcher Dave Duncan had to be restrained from going into the stands after he was struck with food and beer hurled by angry Ranger fans. After the game. Rangers manager Billy Martin was that if he was going to bring a suit of armor to Cleveland next week, to which he responded with No, they don't have enough fans there to worry about now. Unfortunately for Billy Martin and the Rangers that turned out not to be the case as June 4th 1974 just so happened to be 10 Cent Beer Night. What could possibly go wrong? Well, plenty. It all started when 25,134 people showed up a number 2.5 times of what was expected. To make matters worse, the Rangers jumped out to a quick 521 lead is the highly inebriated crowd grew more and more unruly. Multiple people ran onto the field, including a couple female streakers and a father and son Duo thought it would be a good idea to run into center field and Moon. Everybody in the bleachers you get the point. Unfortunately, for all involved, things took a very dark turn in the ninth when a fan attempted to steal Rangers second baseman Jeff Burroughs hat a stunt which resulted in a full blown on field riot that needed the entirety of the Cleveland police force to break up Despite the game being tied at five, the Rangers were awarded the win due to forfeiture, thus bringing an end to the worst baseball promotion of all time. But 10 Cent Beer Night broke bad in Cleveland 47 years ago today, now a couple other notes on this. The beer of choice that evening was Stroh's, and it's estimated that 60 1012 ounce beers or board that night in incredible..

"Up on a budget like apple blogs and stuff that we're talking about what we did and that's always my thing. I'm like whatever whatever has been them before. Let's do it before anyone else. Figures it out because if that's the thing that breaks great and if it doesn't like you know go super viral. We still made a cool thing that will help you grow at least one one leg in your journey. I'm not going to point fingers. Yeah but years later. Modern family didn't entire episode over time. Yeah yeah i mean that makes sense. I'm not saying they saw. The video was also also cheap for them like shit. We blew the bank on that episode. Where we go to the carnival. So how do we say loss. What about an underground bunker. Never seen it. I've never seen law every every show. Has that where there's like. it's getting too expensive. We have to scale back. What's that they call it like a breaking bad. The best episode is the fly episode. Oh yeah yeah yeah people love or hate but like they don't leave guesses lab exactly and they're just trying to kill a fly has nothing to moving the plot forward. There's no other actors in the whole episode. it's just trying to kill a fly. The two actors. You know pretty much like a filler episode. That if the fly was on a contract or maybe we should go back and we have to get breaking bad cancel right that fly was mistreated the best poop ever guy. I worked as a sound guy. A grip alighting grip on film that's Tareq acted in two for a french. Sean tile like yeah. There was just there was like around that time like two thousand eleven twelve. There's just such like. There's there's a flurry of like filmmakers and musicians. Just all trying to work together and like do such cool stuff like i would not have like the career that i have all without the windsor musicians. Like we're like yeah. We'll listen to your fucking stupid idea. Let you let you go do it. You know even even the soundtrack of the scare house the blue zones have a song on there. Mike lords are in there. I try to i. I'm very like local focus. Wanna make sense like when we did our premiere of last call at the chrysler theater. Jeff burroughs was rmc. Anytime i can bring the windsor arts together. I try my best. Yeah that's cool. Yeah especially because like now. You live in la so holding onto that local. Windsor route is kind of cool. I it's fun. Because i i can be an abrasive human. There there are. There are people that love me or hate me and like rarely in between. It's one of the two but i said to hold my roots fair enough. I want to I wanna ask you and you might take some time. It's fine but i do want to ask you if you can dissect these movies and tell me like good points and bad points are because these are three of my favorite movies. Okay so sorry. I guess you can chime in with yours. Hopefully i've seen. I'm just gonna guess here what's number read the show. Not you fuck up. I didn't read that part. You have access to that. I haven't read that okay. So what do you think number one. I'm going to ask him as Back to the yes so back to the future president so i do you have sat to have a whole sleeve done amazing..

It's more and more intentions. Were intense more intense and you choose to wait until you let that intensity go like. That's when it's really powerful and especially for for their music. I feel like you have to kind of keep that intensity going and they do that kind of funny because like i was reading that like before. This album came out that people were kind of wondering if bass could like sing. Live like she does in the studio like she was kind of more self admittedly like more of a studio singer and then this album came out and everybody just shut up about that and they were like oh she can say in. Yeah yeah. I saw them at hammerstein in two thousand eleven so i waited like almost two decades to see them and it was it was i mean other worldly. It was so so good and actually at the very end of the show. Beth was giving hugs to people in the front. And i gotta hug. And i felt like it was a moment for me. I've never gotten to see them. Live so i you know. I'm shame on me. I wish well they don't really tour very much now. i think. Get to see jeff burroughs band though beak. Yeah they were at. What is the elsewhere elsewhere. Which i mean. This feels like forever ago now but they were really fun. But i mean very very different. Think still got some progress aspects of it and yes. Yeah but good vibes it for me. I really wouldn't skip anything on this release. But i think if i were forced to pick something i would skip it. Would maybe be half day closing just because it's like a little wobbly and it feels like you're kind of underwater been And maybe that kind of stands out as an anomaly. I don't know but i mean. I love every track on this album. Specifically glory box. I think it was kind of a treat to hear all mine and only only you thank you only you only. Yeah i feel like. They don't perform those songs. They haven't performed the song live in in decades. So i feel like in general these days when they do perform which is so infrequent they skip that that middle self titled album which is so good. I mean there are also good. Yeah so it was a treat to hear those. I'll have to say. And i'll this is share sharing confessional here but this was definitely on my like make out mix for sure like at a certain point like i remember there some boy that was like i think i've made out to this song too many times of other girls that i don't think i could make like. Oh well i thought i was doing something very unique so bad in the bed in the bud early in the fed like you only use definitely one of those songs and i was like i want to take it down a notch. You know sure yeah. There is nothing about the intensity of it that like feels would feel appropriate kind of intimate moment. What's your favorite track on.

"There's no stage banter none of that. It's kind of like what you the lyrics kind of speak for themselves. Her live performance speaks for itself. And i think there's something to be said about that because that's all you need with someone who is an interpreter of song like that. Yeah and you're also like you know. At a certain point. Nine years I really loved the scores so how to train your Dragon Giampaolo. It's it's everything I wish. I could have been as a composer. He's it's incredible. I thought it was GONNA be your number one quite frankly. Oh you gonNA okay. Yeah I know you're I know how much you love that. And so yeah but yeah I actually went and even though I've only seen the third how to train your dragon movie. I never saw the first two but I actually went and listened to the score just because I know how much you love. Yeah no it's it's great. It's so good where you at number two buddy number two. Oy Is the electronic score that be the social network for me and for a while until I went back and started re listening to all this stuff. I I had it number one for quite a while. Is Ben Salisbury. In Jeff burroughs. Two Thousand Fourteen score for x mocking Uh the movie. Such a good movie when that score go is beautiful. It is beautiful when it goes freaking horrifying. Just makes your skin crawl. And you just said every John Calvin everything you wanted to be as a composer this score is what I. I wish I had the opportunity to do something like this like this. Is I feel my ultimate score would be like myself or not thinking about film That's fantastic film and that's another one. I didn't actually listen to. I'm yeah I do remember watching that film though thinking man this score really does you know the point of scores you underscore seen it really like support. How Rick and crazy of a film that is so I love that movie and I love of that score? So we're in our number one. I I'm really. I am not sure what it's going to be but for you but Do you have any guesses. Just like randomly randomly any guesses. Oh Man I don't know I really don't know I am probably one of the only people on the planet who actually won loves this. This movie But to score I it's funny because you know I'm not so I think you know again. These are opinion personal favorites. Right right like I don't think there can be many arguments. How the heck can you put this at number? One are building this up a little bit because really is about what it means to you and it's really based off of one theme. I'm one melody one out of tune. It's kind of spread throughout the entire thirty six hours long. This film is Tom. Tom Tykwer Johnny Clinic and Renauld Hail. I think I'm saying that right. "I'm Jesse Thomas in it's time for the game brought to you by pioneer landscape centers tonight we go back to June fourth nineteen seventy four the seen Cleveland stadium. Today marks the forty fifth anniversary of an event. The without question is the worst ballpark promotion of all time. The Texas Rangers were in the two one six night to play the tribe in a game in which they would win due to forfeiture, more on that in a minute. Now these two teams have played just one week earlier in Arlington and a game that broke bad. Real dad, the game featured not one but two bench clearing brawls and things really got out of hand when Indians catcher Dave Duncan had to be restrained from going into the stands after he was struck with food and beer hurled by angry ranger fans after the game. Rangers manager. Billy Martin was NATs. If he was going to bring a suit of armor to Cleveland next week to which he responded with. Nah, they don't have enough fans there to worry about now. Unfortunately for Billy Martin, and the Rangers that turned out not to be the case. As g fourth nineteen seventy four just so happened to be ten cent beer night. What could possibly go wrong? Well, plenty it all started when twenty five thousand one hundred and thirty four people showed up a number two and a half times of what was expected to make matters worse to Rangers jumped out to a quick five to one lead is highly inebriated crowd grew more and more, unruly multiple people ran onto the field, including a couple of female streakers in a father and son duo thought it would be a good idea to run into center field and moon everybody in the bleachers, you get the point unfortunately, for all involved, things took a very dark, turn in the ninth when a fan attempted to steal Rangers. Second baseman, Jeff Burroughs hat a stunt which resulted in a full blown on field. Riot that needed? The entirety of the Cleveland police force to break up despite the game being tied at five the Rangers were awarded the wind due to four. Pitcher thus bringing an end to the worst baseball promotion of all time, but ten cent beer night, broke baton Cleveland forty five years ago today, this has been pioneers of the game brought to you by pioneer landscape centers insist on pioneer for all.

"News in real time immigration health care, the way, we deal with other countries just goes like everything's in play coverage and analysis fast-changing, NewsRadio twelve. June fourth nineteen seventy four Cleveland stadium. Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers promotion night. Twelve fluid outs cups of three point. Two percent. Beer, ten cents each. Sounds good. Yeah. By the way, in case you wondering the regular price for beer in nineteen seventy four Cleveland stadium was sixty five cents. They did put a limited fix beers purchase but no limit on the number of purchases made. During the game fans. Mccain heavily intoxicated ended up in a riot in the ninth inning. And the game was forfeited due to uncontrollable rowdiness and because the game could not be resumed in a timely manner. Well, what happened? Well, first of all, they got twenty five thousand fans in the stadium, which was about three times more than what they usually got and was twice the number expected early in the game line drive hit. Rangers pitcher Ferguson Jenkins in the stomach hard enough to drop into the ground fans began chantey hit him again. Hit him again harder harder. A woman ran out into the Indians on deck circle and flashed her breasts. A naked man sprint into second base. One inning later, a father and son pair ran into the outfield and mood the fans or mooned the fans later more fans raining on the field. Mike Hargrove was pelted with hot dogs and barely. Avoided getting hit in the head with an empty gallon jug of funder bird. They were tossing lit firecrackers into the Rangers. Bullpen. And late in the game. A nineteen year old fan of the Indians ran on the field. And it tempted to steal Jeff Burroughs cap borough started chasing him tripped manager, Billy Martin buck that he was knocked down by that fan ran onto the field. Rangers players behind him. Most of them carrying baseball bats, then intoxicated fan started, running out on the field, someone knives chains. Portions of stadium seats that they had torn apart. They were throwing bottles from the stands. The apart crew. Finally had enough of the night, bending and says, nah, where forfeiting this game or Cleveland your forfeiting this game to Texas, and he was then victim of writers, getting ahead by a one of those hidden hand by thrown rock in the hidden ahead by one of those partial stadium seats terrifying. And here's my favorite part of the story. Forty four days later, July eighteenth nineteen seventy four forty two thousand fans showed up at Cleveland stadium for what ten cent beer night..

"You're going to have more people will get you more weapons. More violence. More is watching can I have the whole crowd going? It's a whole different year the performer now, and you can't let the people down as dumb as that sounds to try to like vi- for these strangers like satisfaction. There was one time price September of last year where during a match I got a cut on the top of my hand and blood started actually squirting out of it. Like, I'm talking like two foot Fallon of just blood just squirting out of my body. You you know, that happens me at home. I'm going to run out the door and go the hospital, but in wrestling, this is going to sound crazy. But I kinda got excited about it. I've gone a couple of phone calls actually one from the hospital getting stitches, maybe three that's just mom, Donna e comes home with thirteen is back to his head three here. I'm a parent. And honestly, I wouldn't be okay. Seeing my son doing what Jeff does neither was Donna who's had issues with violent wrestling's since the beginning. As the I think I'm just going to quit school and go to wrestling school. I was like, no, I don't think. So, but and that's how it just one thing went into another one to another and next thing. You know, I have to find out on Facebook that he's in Massachusetts or even Canada or I'll go through. And I see the pictures of the blood coming out of his face. The first time Donna went to see Jeff wrestle and a death match. She knew afterwards that she could never go back. We go to the match and I'll never forget. 'cause my mom was there with my knees nephews with that just fake it's fake. And I'm like, it's not saw him put that together. And it was pulling while these thumb tacks out of his head and be I couldn't watch. Like, I said, I don't think that's what mom wants to see. But once you get in that ring, this person just all of a sudden comes out, actually what you see in. The ring is somebody very different outside of the ring in the ring. Jeff Burroughs transformation into canon ball is so complete that even his mom describes him as a different person. We wanted to know which of these personalities is the real Jeff caro-. Well, they're real stand up. I think we'll to me I would like him just to be Jeff Guerrero. But I think overall I think it's probably Jeff canon ball. Because that's. What he does constantly? It would be Jeff cannonball, the guy in the ring pulling thumb tax out of his head his own mother believes that's the real Jeff. I think with the are trying to reveal secret part of personality. That's Barry Blaustein, nineteen ninety nine. He wrote and directed beyond that one of the defining documentaries about the world of professional wrestling in its underground origins inherits he followed wrestling legends. Like, Jake the snake Roberts. Mick Foley, and Terry funk, capturing the huge triumphs incredible personal tolls that wrestling career can inflict he understands wrestler is in a way..

"It's interesting that the other thing is that we combine the offense and defense and kind of thing, and the historic ly- the fastest best path to become a most valuable player in. Either in American or national Lakers starkly has been if you lead in home runs and RBI you've got a hell of a shot at winning MVP. If your team in assuming you're team has any kind of reasonable standing. And there have been many controversial. Examples of that were the sabermetrics people who didn't exist when Hank Sauer beat out, Robin Roberts in nineteen fifty two or when Jeff Burroughs beat out whomever the year he won simply because he led the league in home runs and RBI. Now those people now do not put as much stock in particularly RBI and and so forth. It'll be interesting to see how the voting body approaches it because some of the voting body are the younger writers who are very much into the sabermetrics and we'll find a way somebody out there will find a way to downplay the contributions of j. JD Martinez you watch 'em Bob, you know. Listen to Bob Ryan. Mike Lee began the Monday sports Puertas pack is Bob. He had done what he did in Detroit with the fading team. Okay. He did it with a contender in Arizona, but would you have ever dreamt Mr Ryan. That when they got him after all of the hullaballoo after the Yankees got fifty nine home runs in Giancarlo Stanton that Martinez would be so far a superior hitter in Stanton hasn't been chopped liver either and so much more important to his baseball team that Stanton has been to know. And I gotta point something out in in once again, if I'm going to mount the the argument, if I were going to be the plane of here for him, he is doing something to this quite rare right now. And that is at the moment he leads the American League in both home runs, and he hits total hits that speaks to his overall batting. Thicky was going to be this good. Bobby. No, of course not. I thought he would be good. I thought that you know, you realize Mike in people worried some experts. I'm just telling you, you know, and I know you heard this one that he would be punished by Fenway because of his well known opposite field power, however, many home runs he hit over the last couple of years. And to to right field where Fenway of course, is an advert punishing in Whitefield where and that he would first of all, there's eighty one games elsewhere, and but the fact is that it has been a neg- no effect whatsoever. He's he has not been punished by Fenway at all. No, didn't see this coming. He's it. It's trying to find out the. We had a guy in our midst here that we used to do things like this occasionally..
