"They have more than enough go android and that's why I've I've for the first time. I've had my iphone now more than I decided after a year of paying off when I'm eligible for an upgrade. To upgrade, it's worse right the because I've got the iphone Ten are the iphone eleven the iphone twelve to me I don't think it's a big enough jump to warrant the extra expense for me to upgrade to those phones. That's a good point I'll continue using my ten for the time being sometimes the various models had major improvements and you thought, oh, I got to have that. So you would make that jump to take that leap but in this case, not so much a WHO knows maybe I'll keep using the phone I've got. Now I think nine months before this phone has paid off and then maybe I'll just enjoy having a paid off phone hoping paying interest. Now there's no interest. It's just they've divided the payments equally or what have you for however long right Yikes, pretty bizarre. That's the only way to afford these thousand dollar phone these. Well, that's true speaking of phones the phone carriers are dying for your business with the new iphones especially at and verizon are offering free iphones to selected buyers of the new seven hundred ninety nine dollar model by providing monthly credits with verizon limiting the promotion to new subscribers at and T. will provide the phone to anyone who upgrades from an iphone eight or later model or any handset worth at least ninety, five dollars. Okay while t mobile will sell the iphone pro for one hundred dollars with trade ins if two of the devices are purchased by new customers. So that they're all dying for Your Business and trying one way or another to get your business and since there are now. Three carriers in spite of the prepaid stuff, they're all they all use one or more of those carriers. It's just at and T. Verizon and T. Mobile. Now, there is no more sprint. So that's how that all works but they're all going to continue to have deals of some sort. And try to get your business. You can just call him sucky carrier one sucky carrier to carrier three years. None of them are really better or worse than the other. They all suck. That's probably the best way just suck less in certain areas. Very true and five gene nobody has nationwide coast to coast five g. yet don't let anyone think that they do and we talked about that on the first hour when we were talking about the new iphone because they they released the first iphone with five G. Connectivity and finally, and really it's just future proofing yourself because unless you live like an area here, we have it in Miami in many areas because they were trying to get it in time for last year's superbowl. Yeah. Because the new. A lot of five G. Towers near our studios even on the main drags out here and they're just those tall cans basically. But if you live in a smaller metropolitan area, you have five G. for another year so more and more that's that's very true. If you're into shopping on black Friday especially at Walmart they said they will still hold in store black Friday deals the day after Thanksgiving starting at five am but instead of the usual chaotic crowds, they claim that they will be single file lines. Good luck with that stores will provide sanitized carts cap the number of shoppers at twenty percent of regular capacity they claim and offer Omni channel sales in three phases in November. So. Yeah. I don't know if that's GONNA. Make any difference with people who will probably still camp out on on Turkey Day for their five am opening but it'll be single file and only twenty percent of regular copaxone go to Walmart on a regular desk. Go there black Friday same here and we talked I think last week on the show as to whether or not. It's worth getting their Walmart plus and ultimately off the air, we were talking to looking into it and saying it's not worth it there. There's really no perks right now the the perks have ever is that you can get free limited delivery. Of Groceries and stuff. But I live literally five miles from your house almost almost exactly five miles your your address qualifies for Free Delivery my address for whatever reason does not some very. Well. No. Because you know I I can't take advantage of your membership. Yeah. Oh that was your plan. What made you think I was going to buy the membership because I let us my prime membership. I don't order stuff I use it for the video. One of the other things which can only be helpful if you shop with your own shopping bags or whatever is you can check out or as you're shopping scan items with your smartphone as your as your shopping so that when you then get to the checkout line, you just scan secure code in the APP and then pay for all your all your things at once but you still have to go to the checkout line obviously wait in line to get there. Then you still have to bag all your stuff. So that's not really a person. One hundred bucks a year to be able to do that ninety, nine dollars a year they're charging for this for Walmart plus and you get five cents off a gallon of gas at the at either the Walmart or Murphy USA gestation which they own. Jeez so that to us wasn't worth the one hundred dollars a year. And if that's the only perk because where everybody else is offering video. Streaming services, things of that nature and I've talked about before I'm surprised because they own Voodoo. Yeah. I was really surprised. I was expecting that because they want to try to compete with Amazon, prime that they would include some kind of streaming service with blue in there but they don't they're not in in I. Wonder if at some point when they don't get very many people. Signing up for the Walmart. Plus if they say, all right, what are we gotta do we gotta give away Turkeys or something or or I know it let's give away Voodoo. We owned it anyway make it part of the deal or cut it in half if somebody's questioning whether or not they want to have voodoo find give them fifty percent of they're already a member or something. But at the moment, our opinion is don't spend the money. Yeah. Not Worth it. Google assistant will soon be able to book a haircut for you call Salon and requesting a time on your behalf. Or figured that would have been covered in men's or women's that pretty much covers everybody. But you know what I guess if you identify as a general maybe. then. You would be getting a general haircut. Oh, my gosh that's pretty bizarre but it's all robotic body. It's all artificial intelligence calling. Barbershop. So I guess you would tell the APP or whatever. That will go very well what did you want a men's haircuts or women's haircut because we do both now one in general I want a general haircut. Yeah. But I'm sorry you're only a captain. It gets a bit confusing. Doesn't it does Jeez Michael in Tyler Texas listens on K. TBB. Point Five FM and joins us into tomorrow the IPADS the APP phones, even the galaxies, the charge port so much things Bamford amount of time it's you keep those and use them. They just don't hold up. I was hoping that maybe they could put some time in economic zone there but that's probably not going to happen but anyway your thoughts on that thinks well our pleasure Michael but we actually. Haven't heard complaints about the ports themselves lots of people complain about the cables even though those put up with a lot of abuse but we hadn't heard complaints about the ports themselves until your call you may be in luck though odds are your phone already has another way to charge that is harder to break and that would be wireless charging. That's what I use all the time even in the CAR I. Don't I don't plug a cable into my phone ever. Yeah. Same here I mean you probably a good candidate for charging pad that can charge your phone and you get one or several of those. You won't ever need to plug anything it. You can just rest your phone on the Mat and it will do its thing I've got one here on my desk at work like you I've got one in the. Car I've got one on the side table in my living room and I've got one on my nightstand. So everywhere I go I just set my phone on an charges saint I prefer the ones that are tilted because I want I don't want to just lay it flat I like to see if I get a notification I also have in the case of my android device I've got always on clock. That also shows me notifications and it just moves around on the screen, but I can at a glance I can see the time if I don't have my watch or if it's at night and I wanNA glance. Thing but even that is wireless at my desk, my nightstand as well. My car. It's wireless. Versions that you can buy for your home, your car, and even some that are part battery pack. You've got one of these. Yeah that you carry in your pocket. He should really never need to plug it in but if you ever find yourself having to do it at least your port will be brand new and likely to work. Yeah. That's very true. So Michael, definitely. We suggest the wireless charging that she or Q. If you will. And you can get them very inexpensively. There's so many different brands available. Now that you can get, you can get the brand of your phone most likely would have wireless charging pad, but probably would be more expensive. So you can get any off brand and just do it. Now keep this in mind we had this experience too though if you've got a really thick case. It could interfere with the charging wireless getting to your phone. So keep that in mind if it doesn't work very well, you may have to change your case still do a protective one, but maybe not as thick. And some people like to put those little pop sockets on the back or something of that sort if it can't lay flat even with the case against the charging device for the pad, then it might not charge very well. So just keep that in mind that should help. Yeah. Let us know what you think or maybe you've got some additional input for Michael let us know at eight, hundred, eight, nine, nine into or even better the audio.

"List and know that if you've been investing two percent for example it's going to be very challenging for you to all sudden jump to eight percent or ten percent so I'm just encouraging you to bump up whatever you've been doing by a percent or two and then to continue to watch the effects but in this example for simple math purposes I will say that you're investing ten percent of your gross sales and marketing which is a great number so you'd be investing ten thousand dollars a month or thirty thousand dollars for the quarter so after the quarter finished you would basically look back and say all right so we were forecasting to do three hundred thousand dollars in sales were. Did we wind up if you wound up on the short end of the stick? And let's say you only did two hundred thousand dollars. You're then going to adjust your marketing budget. Down based on the performance on the flip side if you ended up doing better than you had forecasted and let's say you ended up doing half a million dollars instead of three hundred thousand. Then your marketing budget would go from thirty thousand dollars. A quarter all the way up to fifty thousand dollars for the next quarter so these budgets need to be a moving target so that you you don't back yourself into a very difficult corner now. There's other variables at play for example. If you've got season -ality you're going to need to continue to play with those numbers and if you have a gigantic month for example so there's ways to kind of play with that but the whole goal as you start to establish a routine you start to have it where your marketing compounds to your continuing to execute month after month after month and you're getting your brand out there and you're trying new tactics and you're continuing to execute tactics that are working on a regular basis and what you can do. Is You WANNA start to nail down that secret or that magical number and I will tell you that this magical number takes a little bit of work but once you get to that number it can be game over and a good way. So you're aiming to figure out how much is it costing you to a choir? A new customer so five investing thirty thousand dollars a quarter going back to that example. Ten thousand dollars a month. I want to be able to quickly see how many leads and I'm using leads in a general term whether you're B to B B to c e Commerce driven retail and. It doesn't matter so how many people are raising their hands that they're interested in working with you. That's metric number one metric number two then is your conversion percentage how many of those end up converting into a customer. So if you invest ten thousand dollars simple math. Let's say you end up getting ten new customers. See your cost per sale. Your cost to acquire. New Customer was a thousand dollars now depending on your business. That could be horrible number or an amazing number and what you're looking to do is continue to then improve those numbers. You're looking to lower your cost per lead. You're looking to improve your conversions which then drives down your cost per sale and if that thousand number is a great number what you WanNa start to do then is really remove the limits so while a percentage is great. If you say Michael I just WanNa grow. Well what happens if you're to invest twenty thousand dollars for that particular month? Would you end up getting twenty new customers? Can you still maintain that thousand dollar number and what you're aiming to start to figure out is kind of the sweet spot of hominy new customers. Can you acquire so the name of the game is whomever is willing to invest the most to acquire a new customer wins that number? Is the secret sauce number. What can you afford to invest to acquire that new customer in where a lot of businesses have narrow minded thinking is they forget about another key metric that metric is lifetime value of a customer? So you might only get. Let's say it does cost you that thousand dollars and you may say well. Jeez Michael I invested at thousand but the the initial sale was only two hundred dollars. So I'm out eight hundred well. How many times are they going to purchase and repurchase how many people are they going to potentially refer to you and your business? The lifetime value of that customer could be ten thousand dollars so a dentist. Just managing your cash flow your numbers to see again. How much can you afford to invest to acquire those customers to continue to grab all of that lifetime value revenue in the near future? So if you were to say Michael. Am I investing enough? The answer is usually no and the trends that I'm seeing now is that there are.

"And this is your host Michael Nick. Welcome to episode episode sixty eight. Today's topic is this. You're doing a lot of stuff wrong and when I mean by that is the core focus of your business more often than not gets off track so whether you feel like you're on tracker off track right now really doesn't matter but I wanNA give you some more context taxed and and be a little bit more personal with you on this particular episode and I'll tell you why when I look at and why I started my first company it digital agency called Tad Solutions. I only had one one thing in mind. Only one and that was me and feeding my pocket book it was a hundred percent focused on me and generating as much cash as I possibly could now. That's not to say that I don't want you making money making a profit. That's not at all what I'm saying. In fact I did an episode so called profit first and profit first consultant. So hopefully that tells you a bit more about what I think about profits and money however offer what I'm finding with. A lot of local businesses is that they don't have a higher purpose they don't have a higher contention and they're not putting other people's needs above. There's so hear me out and I'll use use a couple of different niches and types of local businesses as examples. So let's say you open up a Chinese restaurant and whether you're Chinese or Asian or or not makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. You like Chinese food. You wanted to open up a Chinese restaurant now often. The Path to entrepreneurship tends to be accidental entrepreneurship. So you kind of have that little passion or drive to do something different so you move along along the journey now. Feeding your passion is great and pursuing. Your passion is wonderful and I I want you to be passionate about your business but where. I'm seeing that Chinese restaurant or the pest control company or the the lack Smith or the auto dealer where they're going astray and where they could be doing so much better is is if they were actually focused on. What are their customer's desires. What other customers dreams aspirations. He might so so what. How is that relevant to a Chinese restaurant for example and again. I know that this may seem a little bit far. Fetched and this is one of those episodes where you may have to listen to it a few times or it might take a year or two even can make its way into your consciousness but I want you to keep sticking with me and kind of hearing this out as I go through it. Well well what. If the Chinese restaurant had a higher purpose of bringing families together during mealtime or helping people get healthy by serving healthier Chinese food for example and not only. Are you pursuing your passion. Shen of having a Chinese restaurant in in cooking. But then you're also helping people lose weight get healthy gain. More energy have more family time. When I'm encouraging you to do is to start to look at. What is your product or service. Do that is a more personal benefit rather than just the main benefit that you might initially think okay. Well well were giving people food. And they're fulfilling their appetite. That will not keep you in business for the long haul. It just won't unless you've got some amazing insane recipe and you've got the best food in the planet there's a lot of Chinese restaurants in it's all transactional actional like the the Cambo thirty to lunch specials. Like six dollars that it's it's a very tough way to grow a business us. But if your business has a higher intention higher purpose and you're really putting other people's needs and wants Anson desires forefront of your mind. They don't have to be ahead of yours but you've got to be aware of them in where. I'm challenging challenging. You is that. You're probably not fully attuned to what's your prospects and your customers aspirations and dreams and goals and all. That stuff really is if. You're a locksmith. You're thinking of your business as a transactional business. But what if you took a step back and realized how stressful of situation that someone has to call locksmith. Smith is and then you start to expand on that a little bit further and you are able to then Weedon some of that unique content in stories and firsthand experiences and things like that throughout your marketing that starts to separate you from the the pact will. Maybe you're the locksmith that actually cares and instead of your content just saying locked out of your house. GimMe you call twenty four seven okay. Great if every other locksmith has the same intention and the same Way of operating an everything is the same. How do you separate yourself from the pact. And that is more around your story more around showing that you actually care to me really is a lot of the new currency Z.. Imagine if your content on that locksmith website in your branding and things like that said look I get it. I've worked with and helped hundred sixty four people in the last sixty days out of a stressful L. situation. My job is to de stress. Your life and I do that by. ABC for example. If you're in a hurry arranged have a rental car there for you. Why we're doing X. Y.. So there's a lot of ways to really start to differentiate differentiate yourself but to me. This all goes back to often. The reason that people get into business is for the money and that only lasts for so long like at my agency my first agency not the current one that only lasted for so long. And then you really. Kinda get into the zone where you're not making the impact impact that you know you can make every single type of business product and service makes an impact on someone's life you just are not thinking thinking it through and then making sure that you're being authentic about it and then on the backside leveraging that authenticity one of the questions that I ask on our prospect calls now isn't mean. What is your number one dream. So you're saying that you want to grow your business. You need help with marketing. Okay great so. What does that marketing help going to do. Okay well I hope it's going to help. Grow my business okay. Okay but that's surface level surface level. I WanNa know what is that going to do to affect your life. Positively ably or negatively. Well Jeez Michael it. I'm struggling here. I mean I've had people say they can't afford to retire higher. They came back from retirement. they've got a second mortgage on their house selling a lot of personal things. That's the stuff though that shows that we actually care and we're not just a surface level company. I want you to start to ask some more provocative questions so to speak some more. I opening questions about your customers in your prospects and get to know them at a deeper level. Because I promise you you'll start to see see that your business is not just a Chinese restaurant or a lack Smith or a plumbing and HVAC company or a marketing agency. "Can I respond on Wisconsin's marriage agam outlets conference, Merrick? First of all, I'm an independent. Second of all I voted for Republicans and thirty. No, no, no, don't let me finish. Let me finish. Let me finish. Americana. Right. White people. Where's your proof of that? Eric. Hey. Color was. Hey. Hey, big guy. Hey, big guy. What what what who what what race was Barack Obama's mother? Ding, ding. So america. Hey, america. What are you talking about? Compare. Bahama were Donald Trump. I will Trump only guy for this country. I am a Moslem Eric. Did you go right wing college? Are you are you a Merrick? I mean, look, I appreciate the call America. But I mean, some of the things you're saying, you're just completely looney tunes. Take your medication that is ridiculous Brock Obama hated. America. Brock Obama hated white people. What the hell are you talking about? You are out of your mind to a you're one of those people were Donald Trump said he'd, you know, you'll vote for him if he shot somebody on fifty first street, Merrick you're that guy to five seven five three nine six two two five seven five three nine six. I went to central Connecticut state University College to answer your question. And I don't think anyone even said the word Republican democrat to me, and I never spoke politics in college. So there's your answer there. Jeez. Michael, thanks for calling into Michael. How are you? I'm doing. All right. What's up, my friend? Well, I guess the one one thing I have a comment about is keep saying that because John McCain has deceased he's no longer. You can't talk about anything that you. No, I didn't say that defend himself. Passed away. I really don't I didn't say that Michael. I can talk about John McCain, and you can criticize his politics, Michael. I don't have a problem with that. But when you say last in his class, you go after his grades. What does that have to do with the issue if Donald Trump was unhappy with the dossier and all that stuff, then just say that? But he goes after these cheap shots these insults. And they have a history, Michael if you remember do you remember when when Donald Trump was running for president? And he said, I don't respect John McCain because he was captured I prefer people that weren't captured. You see what I'm saying Michael they have a history that was disrespectful. Michael, right? I didn't think it was disrespectful. Wait, wait percent. Disrespectful. Spackle? Debate. Volunteer. Iran. You're one hundred percent complete trauma. Aw, McCain was a heroin. Hold on, Michael. Republican Michael host. My co host is a Republican. I hear you Michael Michael host is a Republican. Okay. My Colo supports Donald Trump J d do you agree with Michael that it wasn't a big deal? Which situation when he went after John McCain about his war service and said, I don't respect him because he was captured that was incredibly stupid. Thank you. That's all I'm a big Donald Trump card, but that was incredibly stupid respect. What's the point? What's his reasoning behind? What's that accomplishing? It's totally counterproductive. And it's unbecoming of the president states. Remember? They were at odds with each other. I understand that. I understand that but alive there also you're defending it because they were at odds, you're okay with it. But that. That doesn't make them more here. I mean, what are you talking about? I'm tomato. You're telling me it doesn't make somebody hero. If they go through, torture, and do what John McCain did because he wouldn't give out information that was tortured that being said that did not eliminate everything else remaining him after he after he was deceased van all the reporting start coming out showing that it. So let me get this, right? Let me get this straight. You wanna criticize John McCain? You wanna criticize people did in? All right. I think I think part of it Brian win, exactly. And the reason they they thought they were a because Admiral. During the campaign or after he was this bit before this was on the campaign. So what he was trying to do was was sway. Former John McCain, followers, more or less. It was a pure. But I'm sure it was it is amazing. I'm sure he had some type of there's no just respect justification with all due respect. Michael. I appreciate the call. But I am still amazed that there are people out there like you that will go after John McCain and attack him for being a prisoner of war. And I don't hear you say one negative thing about Donald Trump people. Like you make me sick. Let's go to Paul Paul. Thanks for calling in. How are you? Hey, how's it going? On your mind. Not much is this kind of chuckling myself a little bit, you know, listening to the bathroom four kind of thing. You know? I mean, am I Trump guy? Yeah. I'm kind of a Trump guy. But hey, make no mistake. I do think he sticks his foot in his mouth little better night to attack somebody who's passed away. Certainly that Ryan gaining anything politically, obviously, and even on both sides by Democrats or Republicans who spend more time. Explaining what they wanna do to make things better. There you go. Look. To try and make themselves. Look as bad as the other person. You know what I mean? I could just stay on the line. First of all, let me just say, I could not agree with you more. And I always say this the two worst words in this country, Republican and democrat because too many people make decisions what's best for their party not best for America. And in no way, shape or form. I'm not saying the Democrats played the same dirty deeds as the Republicans, no doubt. But it just so happens that we have a Republican as the president states. I will say this. I have less problems with his recent statements about McCain than I do his former I agree with that. I agree with that. I thought what he said about John McCain was Harare. There's there's actually some there's actually structure to this. Go ahead, Paul. There's there's reason behind and also I mean in another part of me thinks maybe it's not so much Republicans against Democrats and Democrats against Republicans. But I think that the world economy is not a part to play in this. And I think there's. I don't think we've gotten over the two thousand eight economic crisis that we had, you know, some people are saying, I'm no expert, obviously. But some people are saying like a year and a half that this two to three quadrille dollar Bob Dole that the world economy has data's as mortgages or student loan debt or credit card debt, or whatever it may be is gonna come calling like derivatives, and there's just not going to be money. Call people are going ATM's. And maybe they won't be able to be a cash one day. It doesn't look like it because congress to be doing. All right. But I mean, you see what's happening in China. And yeah, sure Brexit, and yet mean, there's you know, I wonder if that world economy is you know, kind of behind this a little bit more than one. You'll see. Yeah. That's that's a valid point. That's a valid question. John paul. I appreciate the phone call. Thank you for. Thank you for calling in good to hear from you, Paul. Let's see what we try to squeeze in one. One more con, by the way, I agree with Paul. And I appreciate his statements. He's Trump supporter. But yet he's saying look he puts his foot in his mouth. Absolutely does. Let's take one more call before we go to break. Let's go to Jeff Jeff thanks for calling in. How are you? I just had a I wanted to get your take on this point, which is. One thing that bugs me a lot is when you have a figure like. John McCain on the right or Elijah Cummings on a leftover the cheetah come to mind right away. Who did something great many many years ago? In McCain's case, he was a war hero. And he was in Hanoi Hilton was portrait and all that and a great service that country in Cummings case, he was a, you know, a prominent figure in the civil rights movement, and you know. Did all that stuff? That's all very commendable. But what bugged me the teams like people like that? Then somehow immunized from criticism for the rest of their career. No matter how stupid or or whatever other things that they do. Jeff. Let me respond. John McCain or Elijah Cummings. Can't let me respond to that. Jeff. I understand. I understand your point. Jeff, let me answer this in the best way that I can it's one thing to attack someone based on their politics based on their policies. It is something completely different to personally attack somebody especially somebody. That's not a lie about their grade scores and then going after somebody because of their service in war and being captured you can you can go after someone's policies. Trump could go on there and say, I don't agree with what Mr. Cain said in regards to the dossier. I don't agree with this policy. I don't agree with this phone. I wouldn't have a problem with that Jeff. But he doesn't do that. He doesn't have any class. He cannot go after somebody without personally attacking them. Yeah. I mean, I I understand that. I'm just saying in the larger context like many examples for both of those figures, I mentioned where you know in order to sort of immunize themselves because they're the more their their supporters. They immediately default to this or how can you criticize, you know? How can you question? John McCain's patriotism or this or that based on some decision is made whether it's understood the conservative movement, if you're on the right, or, you know, doing something that conservatives don't like them laugh because the media rarely criticizes anybody in the democrat party. But if if somebody on the right criticizes and Elijah Cummings, then it's like, how can you you know, ostensibly do that. He's such a great figure from the I haven't heard anybody say that when it comes to going after him for policy on struggling where you're coming from is not happened or I mean, it's something that I know a lot over the air. All right. Go ahead. Chris this is a perfect topic to play the what if Obama did it. Game. Okay. What if Barack Obama had said what Donald Trump had said about John McCain, the Republican party is opponents everybody that are Trump supporters now and that side of the the right whatever you wanna call. It would have gone beserk. If President Obama had said exactly what President Donald Trump said about John McCain. It's as simple as that, you agree with that JD,.
