Mildred and Richard Loving's Love Created Lasting Change for Interracial Couples

"Military. Dolores jeeter was born on july twenty second nineteen thirty nine in central point virginia. Her family was of african american european and native american descent. Unlike most southern cities in the height of jim crow central point was integrated black and white people mixed freely with relatively little racial tension. It was there that a teenage mildred met and fell in love with a young white man named richard. Loving mildred and richard began quietly dating when military became pregnant at eighteen. The couple decided to get married. But in nineteen fifty eight interracial marriage was illegal in the state of virginia barred from marrying in their home state. Mildred and richard drove to washington. Dc to tie the not. The young couple had only been married a few short weeks when in the early hours of one july morning. Sheriff garnett brooks and two deputies stormed into the couple's bedroom and central point acting on an anonymous tip that the couple was living in violation of virginia law. The police demanded to know. Mildew its relationship to richard. Mildred said plainly. I'm his wife and gestured at their marriage certificate on the wall. This did little to persuade the police. Even though they had not married within state lines the virginia law still forbade black and white citizens for marrying outside of virginia and then returning to live in the state as a result both richard and a pregnant mildred spent nights in jail. They eventually pleaded guilty to violating virginia law. Mildred ann richards plea bargain spared them from a one year prison sentence but ordered them to leave the state and not returned together for twenty five years. The loving somewhat followed orders after settling their court fees. They moved to washington dc where they raised. Three children occasionally making independent trips into virginia to visit family at great risk of imprisonment. Pandemic playoffs: Brewers, Astros in despite losing records

"When you woke up on Sunday morning none of the eight matchups were said I. think that's kind of cool that would be like the the final day of the regular season Lebron Yeah I don't even know who we're playing. That's what it was for every single team yesterday in Major League Baseball your dodgers are going to play the brewers who got in yesterday with the first losing record granted at sixty. Games with the first losing record for a team in the history of the Major League Baseball Playoffs there were twenty nine and thirty one opening round best of three all in the same ballpark what are your thoughts and we couldn't lose I mean you know it. Likely not, but we could because his only three games all they got to do is win two of them, right? So baseball is so weird dodgers obviously you mentioned we got him at home dodger stadium. I don't think that you know I'm sure we're going to roll out Walker Bueller in Kershaw and we're going to do what we need to do to get to the next round But you could lose you know teams could lose you know the beginning of the year, the dodgers and the Yankees were pretty much the favorites to to get to the thing. In the end, but then the pandemic happened then we had to do all of the rescheduling and figure out how many games that went on for so long how many games should they play the only WanNa play this amount, the players, WanNa, play that amount it became a money issue, and now we finally have gotten to the point where October will be playoff baseball. Speaking out, let's go through a couple of interesting storylines after this round by the way, then everything is going to be played at trial sites and eventually the world series will be played at the home of the Texas Rangers and they'll wrap that no. Later than October twenty eighth, they want to avoid the second third. So homefield everybody early, and then we're going to neutral sites, Los Angeles San Diego. Texas and Houston quick thoughts the Yankees of the five seat in the AL, the five seat, the rays of the one-seat. What does the same thing with the dodgers? Right? The Yankees could they take care of business they moved their events they don't they go home whether they a one C or DHCP. It's everybody's even really to be honest with you. Everybody's even Garrett Cole. Start, for the Yankees Chain Bieber for the Indians in for all the money they paid Garrett Cole Shane Beavers had a better year he has in when you look at it, there are no fans in the stands. So there's no home field advantage for anybody you know what's great about not having fans the Houston Astros. Left right. Everywhere they go. They are the sick see the astros have made it in baseball's big off season, they should just get blinked. Every time people bring up the Astros are frown just cheated just blatant just cheat to win. They're taking on the Minnesota twins keys, dodgers will take on the brewers the padres in the playoffs for the first time in fourteen years will take on the Saint Louis Cardinals and the much maligned and I know it's a sixty game season. How about the Miami Marlins under? Derek. Jeter, for everything that they have gone through there and they'll get the Chicago cubs. Yeah. They they. They deserve to being I'm happy for I'm happy for Jeeter because when he? Blew everything up and traded. Call Stan and everybody was like Oh they just care about the money. They're completely trash in the organization, and now they're in the playoffs and they take on. Chicago like you said, one

Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter: COVID-19 Outbreak Happened Because Players ‘Let Their Guard Down’

"The cardinals of the latest team to suffer a corona virus outbreak resulting in their four game series in Detroit being postponed the I. of course, was the Marlins. Here's Derek jeeter their man in charge describing how his players behaved before all this happened. Oil. Down to on this particular trip was. Guys were around each other got relaxed in. Let Their guard down. There were getting together in groups. They weren't wear masks as as they should have been warned social distancing of the entire traveling party is responsible for not following. The Protocols has instructed that that includes staffs, players. Everyone is seen seen the impact. They've seen their teammates, you'd sick. As I bring the Jeff Passan and Jessica does in Jeeter did go on to say, I think this is important that he had seen as we all have people suggesting that when they were in Atlanta, maybe the guys went out to bars and clubs and all of that strongly refuted that notion he was saying, yes, they got lax in some of their protocols, but it wasn't like they were out there doing things that were like super erase. I just thought that was important to get in. That said Jeff, what does the League's response to the Marlins, and now the cardinals outbreaks tell us about what we should expect for the remainder of this season. Greenie tells us that Major. League Baseball is saying damn the torpedoes full speed ahead, we are going to play through outbreaks and we saw that with the marlins and we're seeing that now with the cardinals, seven players on the cardinals have covid nineteen six staff members as well. Those thirteen people have been sent back to Saint Louis Right now is the cardinals trying to figure out what exactly they are going to do. They played only five games, this season Greeny, and yet the fact that they're missing potentially at least another four games possibly another week of games on top of that. MLB says, okay. This is this is reality if we want to put a baseball season on traveling around the country in two thousand twenty and it is a reality that they are embracing in full because at this point, if there's going to be baseball Greenie they really don't have another choice Jessica. What do you think? I think that honestly, this is something that's going. We're going to see it again in another team I hate saying that, but you get one player and that's what jumps out to me. So much is now seen it with two teams in a week or one player has it, and then the next thing you know you blink and overnight five, six, seven players get it, and I think even talking with, Mike, Chill, the cardinals manager everyone realizing how quickly this can spread and that's something i. feel. Feel like we're gonNA see continued throughout the MLB

Red Sox legend David Ortiz shot in Dominican Republic

"And. Jeez. Right. Yeah. Big Papi is what we're talking about. David Ortiz is the former star of the Boston Red Sox. He still involved with the organization and has been on this program several times, actually, I think just about a year ago. Was last time he was here and over the weekend. Just let actually Sunday evening. He was shot in the back by a motorcyclist in the Dominican Republic. He was there on Sunday. He was shot in the back, some guy on a motorcycle approach David Ortiz, outside of the dial discotheque in Santo Domingo. And the bullet went through his stomach. He's in stable condition. He is out of danger, according to his father and spokespeople at that hospital after undergoing surgery, Leo Ortiz, who is at big Papi's daddy spoke to reporters outside the hospital after surgery and said that his son was safe. He's resting now and he is stable. That's what he said, in Spanish, a second person who was with or teas was also shot this as a television host there, according to his wife, they were both on their backs. It was. Very fast. He doesn't remember much because he was also in shock from the bullet wound. Apparently this was targeted multiple people have been detained in connection with the shooting. And it's unclear whether those detained include the motorcyclists who according to reports at least on the scene people that were in the crowd. They're actually captured this guy and beat the heck out of them until police came one of the suspects is being treated at the local hospital. So again, they're trying to sort out this morning, how many people were connected to this, if this was because this happened at a nightclub, there could be a lot of people who got caught up. But the good news is he is out of surgery. And, and hopefully we'll be on the road to recovery kind of a strange story that I it was being reported as a burglary. But now they're saying this guy just drove up on his motorcycle and started shooting. Does he lived there part of the time? I must families there. So I think he visits a lot. But I think he lives here. I think this is where his permanent residence. Well he had a home in framingham. I don't know. He sold it had big house here and had. Restaurant here for a long time restaurant didn't do too well, but he's exceedingly popular was when he was a player, and as you said he'd been here come, and he was more recently even than a year or so ago. He was just really. Very positive influence, spend a lot of time kids, very positive with the team the team. The log the guys on the team loved him the management fun. So fun to watch. She was really he is not a was. I don't want to memorialize him but he is a such a fun player to watch. Yeah. So being shot in the back. Oh, what kind of there was no out their stomach? What was the, the if I missed which you said the essence of why this person went after him? They don't they don't know at first when I before I went to sleep last night. This had just started to break and people were saying it was a burglary at a nightclub. But now this morning they're saying that he specifically was ambushed about eight fifty a gunman approached him from behind, and shot him at close range, and that according to some reports that gunmen and the police have not confirmed. This was captured and beaten by the crowd, but they arrested a bunch of people as part of this. So it'll be interesting to see why what the motivation was if he was really trying to take his money. I don't know according to his father, he was very lucky because he didn't have any damage to his major organs. But what the heck did Dominican? Well, there you go. That's there is no good PR going on for the Dominican Republic. Right. Being shot and beaten and all sorts of things killed. Yeah. No. Yeah. I think they're also there's also the, the rumor that was part of a larger shakedown a big Papi was this, you know, there, and hopefully, maybe when he starts speaking again, with family and police, maybe they're maybe he even has some insight that we don't know yet, but he is, like, Jen said he so lucky that the bullet went kind of clean through in, because that's. Would you consider him to be a legend as the land apply to him? Yeah. What other sports figures around now, who were with a rod is a legend. Okay. Derek jeeter probably also legendary player, I would say for the dodgers, he's still playing but Clayton Kershaw will be a legend people always pay attention to his pitching, but modern day.

Now, there are a lot of people in line saying him, I've seen some other to put up an Instagram poll about fifty eight percent of, you know, ten thousand people voted that I do look like Derek, jeeter. I look to me, it's like whether I look like him or not is sort of it doesn't matter to me, like the fastest is a narrative. I totally don't care about it. You know, a lot of guys that probably knew as Yankees and stuff, you might know, people know g the more than I do you see similarities, there is also the you feel from what I understand it seems jeeter's all in the Marlins. Yeah. He's he's all right. And the one thing that magic said about you know, he doesn't feel like effecting people's futures. I don't jeeter cares. Jeeter's cole. He's kind of proved that jeeter holy cold. Totally cold. I mean, you mentioned in place guys. You know, he's right. He's out that Hoddle's, you know, well that unbelievable. Jeeter compound down there in the Tampa area, which all of all the residents down there that the mobster of a home that he built. But no, I know I think jeeter's all in whether or not here's the one thing. The question comes down to whether or not you're good at your job jury still out of whether or not you're it'd be all in ties as discussing it'd be bad at being well, he's breaking down the team. Fountain Jones is trying to stop this whole new young. You know, we'll get a winner for years. I don't know if the mall offense. And as you know, but that gets another question you bring up a former player jeeter, right? Who came from the Yankee way power winning winning winning? Right. That brings me as we watched. Lebron James celebrating last night with Carmelo Anthony and twain weighed in Brooklyn as he played his final home game against the secular nets. And they had a triple double the question of what do you think right now, if you're LeBron James you signed up for an organization Angeles. A proud franchise yet that three hour meeting where Pelinka was not an attendance. And it was you and magic right sitting there and talking about the future and the vision of the Los Angeles Lakers. Now magic is gone. You're signed up for two more years before you've got an opt out of that contract. What do you think right now, if you're LeBron James, I mean? Yeah, the thief, LeBron I mean think about it like you get the team to the postseason. You know, you're sitting there at your. At another teams like a mock de for your friend, or whatever the hell you doing. I mean, you the problem with that? I do I do problem with that. Even though he's hurt season's over. I have a problem with them being there last night, maybe ranches Jennings. Fair befall is you're the I mean, you're not the only one. I mean, a lot of guys are going to give LeBron pass and say what about a big deal? It bothered me a little bit balls me. Man. Father did bother me Carmelo Anthony. I mean, who cares? I mean that almost you kinda bouncing ball most shot during the course of time out of the game with him at Syracuse was not there during those days, unfortunately freshman together you and come out the genome, I did not we did not remember the same circle shocking. Yeah. Yeah. That is studying that you're mellower not Mela hanging out into dinosaur barbecue together hanging out at forty four. The the bar. That's now defunct that is that forty minutes after Jim Brown. Yeah. Yeah. All the owner just. All right. And then. Yeah. All the great forty four's. Jim Brown, Ernie Davis didn't think although you know, that right? That's the number of the football number. So is named after that. And then rob Konrad, actually, you know, quick history. Conrad. Rob com. Rob. Yes. I do the big running back down of McNabb played with Miami. Dow play with three or two or three teams I think before he was forty four to right. He actually bought part ownership when his playing career was over may got shut down a lot of pressure with that number. There are no doubt. I don't know if I'd want it. But but it shows the expectations you have they have for you as a player when you're handed. I I mean, sure you're expected to be great when you walk through that building where number forty four year expected to be great. That's a lot some schools. Do like all spoke with one season to the Athol have once. I don't know if you're gonna give it to the guy, I guess give it to, you know, that's that's an interesting idea in really it didn't really go over like where guy great player and Syracuse lacrosse were forty four the great player in Syracuse basketball were forty four was just strictly football. It was Mike Powell is probably the best one of the best offensive circus greats. Brothers came and Ryan and numbers. Yeah. And and say eight might have been I don't remember the numbers. But yeah, I don't know. It might have been might have been. Yeah. Yeah. I think about Ryan Powell. But anyway, so yeah, I I mean, I get bothered by the idea that if your team it's the last night of the regular season, and you're a member of the other organization. You can you can't be out there, celebrating twain, wait. I mean, just builds more of a disconnect with those kids Lakers down. You've got to be all that. I mean, how many times you've gone on vacations between wait you've done all that. What's the point? And by season's over. So what over there you're on? The why I would have more of an issue with Chris Paul their teams in the playoffs. And he's there at least for the Lakers LeBron season literally ended the day before Paul about Chris Paul I understand. But I mean, if that's what you're going to be doing, you know, that's what you're going to be doing if you're if you're LeBron James out there. Celebrate jumping around. Celebrate Dwayne Wade after the game is final jump around on the on the floor on the best best friend in the whole world over. I get it. I understand the best friends. We've had that hidden over five. They grow men have to go hang out your party season careers ova like being around guys wanna give issue with you've got an issue with Chris Paul because the rockets are going to play more of an issue with Paul because they're season's extended. It's not over yet. Lebron they have literally nothing left to do in the Bahamas. He could be in Jamaica. He could be a sick day and take an extra day. But okay, if you're if you're Chris Paul so because they've got playoffs to go. You want to focus in on the playoffs. Hey, I I don't mind him there. I'm saying I have more of an issue with has shoot. Lebron none at all. Happy to see your great team might be hot take s. Perhaps he'd be hot takes. Yeah. I mean, I guess it's more of a sign of the times. I mean, you, and I might be a little bit of get off my because I. We all. Why? And and listen, I get the come rotary. I get their best friend. We all remember the banana boat pictures down what was that Mexico or the Caribbean? Wherever was where they were all on the banana boat of behind the speedboat celebrating and listen to the Victor, go their spoils. I get the point that Mike is making the Lakers got nothing left to do. It wasn't like the Lakers playing at the exact same time down in Philadelphia. And he's up in Brooklyn play in the nets. I get that. I understand all that. But I mean, it's just it's a little strange to see. And I and the other thing that bothers me I'm tired of the weight celebration. I mean finally for enough to see the union commercial enough. I mean, celebrating twain weighed like, Michael Jordan. No. I mean enough enough enough. Sending weeping emojis that he's playing his last game. I mean, real retiring wrestling, they look if congrats. Getting my ass house. We have breaker locked here. You had a great run down the road hope families well tax you when you were taught happy take your job. Eight five five two two four two two seven that is your number to call one of your from you in terms of Laker scenario ad in Los Angeles. What's your take? Are you happy that magic gone? Are you happy that for all intents of purposes, at least rob Pelinka sticking around? And it looks like maybe Luke Walton certainly got a better chance sticking around the combination. Would you rather have Walton and Pelinka sticking around or Magic Johnson sticking around in Los Angeles wanna hear from you eight five five two one to four two seven eight five five two one two four CBS. "Let's take a look at a player doing more for his team. How about Russell Westbrook posted is thirty second. Triple double of the season to carry the thunder past the T wolves one thirty two to one twenty six in Minneapolis. Westbrook. Finished with twenty seven points, fifteen assists and ten rebounds for okay? Say which one its third in a row bogus. You wanna talk about nonsense. Tell you about nonsense and that is this dopey D. Wade Paul Pierce debate. Where Pierce's saying he's had a better career way to say he's had a better career. I mean is this really what it comes down to when you know, you're working studio. If your peers weighed at the end of the career now everyone's celebrated waxing poetic as he's doing his Derek jeeter like tore or has done is Derek jeeter like tour around the NBA. I mean it gets. To a point. I mean, you gotta be kidding me. He's since these are things that make me mad that TASR is off today because I didn't want to know about this. I saw the headlines I did wanna process Paul Pierce, his weird argument, but I had to because I'm sitting here today because TASR was sitting here overnight talking wrestlemainia. Yes. And I knew going to come up. It's I mean, come on Paul Pierce, a really really really good player. But you're not wait. I mean, stop it. Well, I mean, but who I mean who can I mean show now Dwayne Wade on supporters? What is the third greatest shooting guard of all time? I mean, what it comes down to of levels, and you could characterize individually big game. And Paul Pierce was an unbelievable became player. So any just was a remarkably clutch player had a lot of. So if you're going to talk about clutch factor. How you got a great players. I mean weighed thirteen top all storytime ole NBA three-time defense three rings peers ten time all star four time all NBA zero all defense one ring. So you're gonna look at it. Yeah. Wade's bit better. Player over the course of his career at five Paul Pierce makes makes him. But this is what it comes down to. I mean, this is how great players now. If you're asking me big game moment last second shot who do I wanna take a shot Pierce or wave? Every day of the week and eight times on Sunday when Paul Pierce taken that shop. Now, you gotta tell me who's had a better career. I tell you Twain's at a better career busy as. But I mean, those are I mean, but we're in a debate. Now where you have two guys also Paul Pierce kin create this debate either which is a whole other thing is it wasn't like somebody else on that panel saying it and led to of actual valid conversation. Paul Pierce can't be whining about stop loving, Dwayne Wade. I was better than him. I can't start that way. I mean, the victory towards nauseating. It is a little nauseated is where you get. I mean twain Wade has hung on here for literally two years. He actually hasn't been and Mike and confirm or deny this. He hasn't been that bad this year. Why wouldn't be in? I I understand has not been that bad down on my he was brutal year ago. It was not Grady eight he's he's nowhere near the player. Once was he's hanging. If you wanna talk about twain, wait, if you're if you're showing up to watch D weight, and and playing now and at the at this ripe old age as compared to when he was in his prime say play, that's fine. You want to get paid Miami wants to pay you. Remember, he got the offer from the Chinese best will league, of course, the off season. They were going to give them what twenty two twenty four million dollars to go play over in China one year. God bless I don't hold any oil against that's fine. Make all the money you could possibly make. That's all well and good the victory tour, though where you announce it and it got to be much with MO with the Yankees with jeeter with the Yankees. It's a little much here with weight and this kind of self serving. It's a little much. I mean, how many times can you have your rear end kissed over the span of six months. I mean, honestly. And then I'm good. So Paul Pierce. I agree with you throws out there. He's a better player than twain. Everyone's all up in arms like he just robbed a Bank. I mean, who the hell cares? It's all to you. At the end of it. Okay. I mean, waiting is what three titles, let's be realistic here. And that first championship you want to talk about officiating shack. I mean how many times that Dallas team? That was a great team that they were sending way down to the free throw line any possible chance they could it that series. You know that bogus. If all about bad officiating thing that series. They set free role on all the time. He how worked up you are this is why didn't wanna know about these things..

"So a lot of things to watch for and you know, what I'm really going to be curious about and it didn't happen against USC was the first time this year. I felt like Cal came out and really got hit in the mouth and didn't respond curious what the first four minutes of this one looks like from various perspective better come up with fire and brimstone because thinks get out of hand here in a hurry. So yeah, that was a tough performance. USC scored the first eleven points to the ball game the bears never recovered. And so tonight, you can't let that happen. If it does he may lose by thirty. Previous meeting between the two zero one eighty seven sixty five that was a ball game. The bears were in for a while. And we say that about you know, every ball game really up until the USC one that the bears have been in it. They've been close they've at least put some pressure on the opposition. But that didn't happen last time out against USC. We'll see if they can have a little bit different approach to start this one here in Tucson well chase. Jeeter was a big problem for the bears in that ball game. You had twenty three points. They had no answer for him inside. And then once Arizona was able to get that inside scoring that opened up the other guys to shoot from the perimeter so controlling chase. Jeeter who's been bothered by a back injury perk that against Oregon state a couple of weeks ago is not played well since that back injury. Also, they're not going to have Brandon Williams. He's not healthy enough. His right knee is giving him some problems. So they don't have a lot of depth either and their little short handed. So hopefully, the bears can take advantage. Conor van over in the center circle long. Jeeter getting ready to go here. Delray car, Mark, a Beasley and the lead official tonight is Bill Vinnie bits Bill is so welcome here in Tucson. But he is not welcome in New Orleans. Why because he was the referee of the NFC championship game between the Rams and the saints and saints fans will never forget. No, no. That was going to say they didn't forget that even watch the Super Bowl. They boycotted it in in large numbers. And they're not gonna forget about that one. But he's a very good. Official basketball fish was well tip off is brought to you by Oakland international airport. Do you wanna get your game going on time? Fly the East Bay way from oh. Aka the airport. Cal athletics. Bears wanted to tap into went over the head of. Darius mcneal who touched it, unfortunately. So there is only gets the first possession so bears in their road. Gold zone aware white tonight with red numbers Luther up top goes over right wing to Smith. He'll come back to the middle. Those over left wing drop it down Luther kick it back out extra pass the Pullman right corner short and ball's tipped back out here. Stacey got a hand on it. And then collects and tries to push it up and.

"Monday should be eighteenth is presidents day, or we all know, we will be here. So then what I was just joking with everyone today do that people who three-day weekend, they get very excited giving everyone a false sense of hope that on Monday off to go back to work. They don't have nobody has to we do. We have we. Oh, I mean, you could call out sick. Yeah. Could just not show up at least thought that was a slippery slope calling out sick. Because if you call out sick today, and you're not really sick. What stopped you from doing it tomorrow? The next thing. Unless you don't like your job. Yeah. I'm not a call out. Sick kinda guy. Gerry? Nice. Don't work either. I was hoping for a little more than just nice like, wow. I don't care like that. Like. No kidding me. Nope. All right. Sitting at home, Jerry doing nothing as usual. When a alert came across my Email yesterday, and it was a press release from the New York Yankees. Oh, let me see did they sign somebody big what happened, and it was an entire official press release that going forward those of you in the media, please keep in mind that Zach Britain has changed the spelling of his first name Zack from Z A C H to Z A C K. Thank you. Right. Well, the K for strikeouts. Is that really wise doing John Heyman told Jon Evan? He claims Akber in a tweet, and he was joking around with it. I mean, he's being for real he's changing the spelling of his name, but he realizes it's not earth shattering news. It's not news, actually. Well, I got a press release about it. And so that got emailed to me someone that the Yankees had to go to work and go to like typing sack Burton act changing his spelling, right? So is big news to me. But he claims that his birth certificate has the K on it. Zachary his name is actually just Zach. I didn't read fully. But I guess you got past the headline people all along have been using the Zak with an h and he's so he just accepted it over the years, but this out there. So that when the articles get written they spell his name, right? Yeah. Okay. Please spell my name. Right. Not really news. Well, it's more of an alert. Ooh, that's all an alert of correction. If you will also saw it in the newspaper today, but a very tiny box. It's not news. It was basically papers done, but we got like two inches to fill here. What are we gonna do? Put the Britain thing. That fella who changed his name put that in a really tiny box on the baseball pay. Right. Did you see the jeeter thing? But the Yankees what he was asking for for rail and the rail Muto deal. Yes for them to get Syndergaard. So they get Al farro and a couple of prospects and the Phillies the Yankees they wanted Gary Sanchez and Miguel and and Noah Syndergaard from the Mets he was going to the Yankees three team deal. Way too complicated, very complicated. And they settled for nothing. Well, yeah, they essentially do the deal the way it goes. And then an article popped up at me today article. You did grade I read dole. No, I read this as soon as you know, the c the subject heading there's no way you saw this article didn't think of me I. Okay. Kansas City Chiefs GM, I did y'all. My god. Now, you were going to talk about this this story annoys me onto front. Okay. I I'll say last week. I I saw video of Patrick Mahomes playing some street basketball, right and going all in very excited. He's he's playing ball. Yeah. Then in my head. I was like what if that new? You want them in a bubble or whatever that knee snaps. So go ahead finish the story because there's two problems with. Okay. So chiefs GM Brett VH called into Kansas City sports talking their version of the fan, Jerry, right, which I hear there's sports radio stations all over this country. There's a fan. There's like a WFAN Kansas City version. Right. He calls into that show. And he said that when he saw that video of Mahomes playing basketball he immediately called Mahomes agent, and quote nip that in the bud. You got the rest of the story. Which part is this now Jerry that he said he later had a conversation with Patrick tone it down a bit. We don't need you hurt yourself. Oh, nip nothing. But if he was really basketball can play basketball. I saw a quote nipped it in the bud initially. That's what he called the radio. But then he spoke to Patrick and said, just let's calm down a little bit. We saw your breaking ankles on the court. We don't need Judah breaking ankle. So just calm down a little that was Patrick Lajos playing basketball just against like some dads in the neighborhood that I don't know. I did not look skilled these guys. No because he's an elite athlete. Exactly. I mean, come on. It would be like, you know, if you got pick a pick, a great athlete me NFL and put them on a basketball. All right. He's gonna run circles around you. He's just there faster there quicker. They jump hires whatever, they're professional athletes. So yeah. That whole thing man, just him. Whatever must be kids have fun. He was hurt. He was playing a bunch a local dads and basketball, maybe one of his dad's like no what I'm gonna teach Patrick Mahomes lesson to kick them right in the groin. Trip when he comes by. I guess it's possible in the paint. Yeah. I suppose you're a raven fan and you go after a month, that's fine. And then he goes on Twitter. I did it for you. Evens favourites ravens nation. Get rid of Mahomes on the basketball court. I know it's so funny because it's all about the money as opposed to what it was years and years ago these guys had jobs in the off season. Right. You think the owner of the Yankees was telling they're outfielder in nineteen forty four or whatever just throwing a year out. You're not working in the factory because we need you in left field right now. They weren't be careful you lift those boxes at the Home Depot. I wasn't around back. Whatever the version of more like the ninety s whatever the version of the hardware store. Right. And here's some the Jerry. I think you may want for your signature collection. You have my signature. I don't have a signature collection collect signatures from ballplayers. No. I don't. All right. I do not you do. I don't. Okay, eddie. You. I do not oh for three. So nobody cares. I do have a couple. WWE wrestlers signatures that my dad got me when. Newark airport when I was a kid. Yeah. I have those still all right? And he was loved to tell me how wrestling was fake. And he said to me, he goes, oh, you know. I saw Ivan put ski Ivan put ski who the hell I saw Ivan put ski Tony atlas in rocky Johnson sitting together at the airport. I was like what do you mean their enemies, right? Where they hitting each other with delta chairs. No, he goes. No. They did it's fine. But it ain't fame fake the heat each other. But why was he so excited to tell me a wrestling fan? I don't know. He didn't like it was fake because he didn't like it. I think anybody that doesn't like that very happy to tell you. It's kind of like you ever watch the show Adam ruins everything. Yes. All right. So I was watching that a couple of days ago, and he had an episode where they break down reality TV shows like your beloved, the bachelor, he ruined entirely scripted. They tell him who to pick at the end what? Right. So for people that don't like it. I'm very happy to tell you that he's not real ruined. My your dad was very happy to tell you scripted. And yet he did go. Oh over there and get their signatures won't because they're still to you. I don't like to use the word hero figures. But like they were gods to you. Right. Those wrestlers pro wrestler wrestler here you've got a pro wrestler coming in a couple of weeks who I'm not joking. I honestly did not think was still with us. Yes, Sargent slaughter is coming in. Now, he will put you in the Cobra clutch. Yeah, I was through because I liked him. When I was a kid. I was actually thrilled to hear. He's coming in. Yeah. He was one of the few. I like mania macho man savage. Yeah. And I like Tam sergeant like Roddy piper was not a fan of his, but I like Sargent slaughter, and I heard you talking to that's really prominent, oh, he's going to he's going to grapple with you know, he's not going to sue them. Then grappling with a bad back. Anything? I don't know if all right him with the lawsuit not going to happen. So far signature goes, Jerry Tabatha, right? Signed, fifty two balls. Twenty six guys. Fifty two balls or limited edition, right? He signed. That's for you. That was the rays game. Wasn't it? Yeah. When he did the race right yelled out their dugout. He's signing balls Samoans abiam, wait another. It'd be a baseball. I buy what do you think that ball goes for? I have the price, Jerry. There's only fifty to fifty two. In addition. Jim in ten condition five thousand two hundred dollars three hundred five dollars. That's is. Yeah, I might be in for that. Put that on your show. What does this say I liked that guys will say like like Pete Rose signed hit king? Right. Disgraced. Better in the hall, but not in the hall. Kind of a stupid when we had Pete Rose in here. Yeah. Number of years ago. Remember that he signed the balls for all of us. Right. But he signed like forgave. Baseball's like real. Them is that even worth any Franklin baseball. Right. It wasn't the real way. Sponge ball. Yeah. I we take a quick break. And we want you back. We've got boomer and geo on the fan next. Hockey fans joined greater Fort Lauderdale for the.

"Line at two eight six zero four six about Derrick jeeter jeeter was not even the best shortstop of his era. If jeeter were rocky he would be fighting for forty five percent of the vote. Yes. But he wasn't Iraqi, and that's kind of white wheels. And I said is that because he is a Yankee his. Not only is he a little bit overrated because he is. I mean, he's a hall of Famer I think that you would concede at least that point. I mean, maybe you like, no mar better or a rod. Or whatever. But certainly Derek Jeter is all of Famer and kind of the reason why he's such a shoo-in is because he was Yankee, you're right. If he was a rocky or a Detroit tiger. He wouldn't have raised nearly to the level that he was at. But the dude was clutch in the postseason. He got numerous opportunities because he played for the Yankees. And that's all a part of it. That's all a part of it. What's the real estate location location location? Well, Derek Jeter had a pretty good location. Use the shortstop in New York. So. Derek jeeter deserving of being a unanimous of Famer. Because he was the greatest shortstop of all time. No. But what he meant to the games. Most storied franchise. I think is enough. Like, there's certainly tears to this, right? Because I said Ken Griffey junior is the one to me Ken Griffey junior is unanimous first ballot. Whatever other thing you can heap on him. Ken Griffey idolize, Ken Griffey junior. I wore when I was in high school. I wore my pant legs in when everyone wore their pant legs up to expose their socks. A buddy of mine cut the elastic out of the bottom of our baseball pants. So they would not bunch up around the ankle, right? They would be more open, and we will pull them all the way down. And I don't think our baseball coach noticed until we turn them in at the end of the year. And maybe not even then because we never got in trouble for it. Backwards hat. You imitated stance? Sweetest swing and the history baseball so Ken Griffey junior to me is on a whole 'nother level than anybody else's. But I do look at Derek Jeter. And I say he's gotta be. He's a hall of Famer. There's no doubt about that. So why not put him in? I try why not everybody vote for him. I was looking at. And shoot did. I lose it. I don't think I did the twenty twenty hall of fame ballot. Yep. There. It is I pull it back up and see so. And this is kind of hard because they're leaving in a lot of. Oh, here we go. So the first timers next year are jeeter Abrego Jason Giambi cliff Lee Rafeal for call. This list is getting worse and worse by the moment. Gosh, there aren't a lot. I mean it. Would you say Giambi Bobby Brady, you are they hall of fame players? I was a big fan of Bobby braille. I don't know if either one of them will are. So then you're looking at the guys who did not get in this year. I think Derek Jeter is the most deserving I first year eligible guy next year. And then you look at the guys who just missed schilling Clemens bonds Walker. Those are the next four guys after that. So I think if you're filling out your hall of fame ballot, and those are some of the names you're going over. I mean, why wouldn't you put their jeeter? So I think Derek Jeter is definitely getting any. He's probably gonna be unanimous. Now that more Rivera got a unanimous. Now, it's going to be more. Okay. No. We don't have to collude to keep a guy off of one ballot. So no one is unanimous. It's okay. Now, we have a unanimous guy and the world didn't end. But I think Derek Jeter gets in. Adding schilling probably gets in. Because if you're thinking about Derrick jeeter and what made him a great player. It was the clutch. Right. And how many more clutch moments are remembered better and more fondly depending on what team you root for then bloody sock? That was clutch. And that's what Curt Schilling was. So you go you go schilling. I put the steroid guys in we talked about this yesterday. I think they should be in. And I think you should note that they were cheaters. I think Larry Walker has got a chance like next year's his last chance. He basically needs to make the same jump from twenty nineteen to twenty twenty that he did from last year to this year. That's a big ask. But it seems like it will be a little bit of a thinner year unless you really love all Fonseca Soriano or poker Conoco. But it certainly looks like jeeter is the guy of the first year guys. And then you're going back over who just missed out last year in. Figure out who might be on there. I agree that Derek Jeter talent wise in stats wise is not the best shortstop in the history of baseball. Bye. He was his best on the biggest of stages, and there's no bigger stage than being this shortstop of the New York Yankees and getting hits in October. Or November as it were. So. Thirty four hundred plus hits three hundred batting average and five rings love him or hate him. The dude has the stats to back it up. Not the most talented shortstop of his time by any means. But definitely a hall of fame player. So I'm saying. And his his off the field game. Guys. Am I right first ballot unanimous gift baskets? That's all I got say gift baskets, two eight six zero zero four six now that you've heard some of the names that are coming up on next year's ballot. Do you think that Derek Jeter is the Scherf fire unanimous choice? Do you think? Larry Walker will get enough votes to get next year. "Partner of California, golden bears basketball, rich cellini Todd mckim eleven thirty six to go between the bears and the Zona. Wildcats. Wildcats sixty six bears just forty five four Wildcats in double figures. Chase jeeter Brennan Williams. Brandon Randolph and Justin Coleman just one bear double figures just as. Well, that's been the tale of the tape. Zona all year, long balanced scoring jeeter having a really good ballgame. Very efficient. They don't have one guy that every night is get twenty or twenty five point. So they've had to rely on the system and you go game by game. What is our advantage in this game versus what's our vantage in another team tonight? Justifiably. So they're vanishes in the post with chase jeeter. And he's been a load inside. Bears have not had an answer for the transfer from Duke cheater seven of ten from the floor five or six from the free throw line, nineteen points nine boards. In the second half their zone is ten for twelve. Take yoga inbound it for the bears gets suing the left corner. Justice dribble up the sideline over the McNeil shot clock at seven. Deers twins legs driving in hoist up the shot. Hit off the backboard just cop the side of the rim. Coleman gets the ball on the right side will dribble down all the way across the baseline and loose handle at about. Don't do fast results. Didn't they? I don't know. What that was. I don't know what he was doing. He was racing down the right wing. You got the baseline so fast the ball with him. He's about to do the dribbling circle all the way around and get back to the top. But he literally lost the handle bears. Get the ball back. Lebanon to go in the half suing on the left wing has it. Justice dribbling up top goes over to John Harris Dyson will shake and drive in and trying to finger roll. I didn't catch the ramifications Zona got piece of that one. They'll come back through the way and watch it three. That's an air ball off the hand of Dylan Smith. Kevin back feed it over to suing on the left wing three. Nope. Luther with the rebound Coleman coming back. Trying a fancy sideways with some English on it bounce pass. And that ends up just being turnover. Shawn Miller up the canvas smile, and you can do that. When you turn it over like that. But it's sixty six to forty five to sixty six to sixty. I promise you he's not smiling. Yeah. That's exactly right. Sean Miller is a great point guard at Pitt all the big east and might have a smiley face. I'm sure he didn't like that bounce pass bounce passes on the break really difficult to catch bears. Austin driving in little hesitation in finishes from the right side, sixty six forty seven waking Jones up off the bench. Don't clopping turn cheer on the young bears if they can cut into this Arizona lead Williams with the ball trying to get around Austin. And a little scoop shot finger roll rattles around the rim and down and that one just had so much spin on it had no business going in. But it did a couple like that tonight. Under ten. Sixty eight forty seven Wildcats suing surveying at the top those downing Kelly Andrei working on league turns over the left shoulder short, Lee rebounds. Maybe a little lack of confidence. Therefore, andrea. Williams dribbles in kicks out left wing free ball. No. But Luther they're on the right side to tip off misfired three retriever. Bradley top out suing. They get and drive in. And able to collect another whistle. Justice says been good at that tonight. Driving in and drawing a foul. Don't Smith committed the foul Justice to the free throw line. It's kind of a little bit of Arizona's own medicine within the last two ball games here in the bay area's Casey Apollo Apollo was really good on the wing drives injustice has been really good on the wing for years Olson that was a huge component of his offenses at Arizona. You had a great wings and the point guards. They were just spread you out. And they would just take you off the dribble from the wing time after time after time, and then they play off of that. So Justice has been able to take advantage that tonight. Justice from the line, and he makes seventy two forty nine. And Austin able to draw charge out of Williams on the press. So a shove off from Brandon Williams. That turns it over for Zona jeeter quickly back in. Coleman as well. Possible. Inbound from the baseline. Going over the top suing. Slips on the floor and falls down around his backside strategy from the left corner notes suing got a hand on the ball, and it's out of bounds off gal. And that's been the kind of the night. It's been for the bears. You got a wide open. Look at us three. He basically great Ryan Luther ankles there on that move. Bradley sky comes up to defend the ball. You get a wide open. Look, and it doesn't go. It's unfortunately happened to the bears a lot tonight and coming back. The other way we've is way through the cow pressure. Hundred nine to go seventy forty nine Zona. Coleman guarded by Bradley dribbling with the left hand his left side. Williams now has the ball tops drive in kick out right now tend to get closer Lee shot a short following it. But can't get it. Austin has the ball bringing it up to the bears. Paris. Now back it up get van over and Connor will shoot and hits off the front of the rim in the back rim and comes out. Yeah. A little flat that time usually has a little more any shop. But it was a good look. Coleman goes right flips to Williams not Coleman gets back on the right wing Bradley playing the Coleman. Go go into van over. And then flip it over who will go right over. Luke look out Lee with a hammer of dump that the other night at Stanford to the left hand off hand. But what power the young man has? Got him excited soon. Coming back. The other way you say offensive. Suing still down on the floor. Jeeter. Insofar offensive foul. Peter up a little bit of Olympus wells, assuming it's offensive foul. We've got a time out on the four seven fifty five to go here at Haas, Arizona. Seventy two Cal forty nine Calvert sports network from learfield. Basketball fans. I'm state farm agent, coal.

"Was the greatest human being on the planet. Derek jeeter in your life. What else you got? I'm fresh out. Yeah. I would say Hello, congratulations. Yeah. Are you going to break the touchdown record this year? Can't say I mean, this is a one at a time league. You're at Cameron Jordan early on it. But he's a camera. Jordan, just like, what do you mean? There was doubt. What are you only play ten games? What do you? What do? You mean? Ryan Fitzpatrick came in through for nineteen thousand yards on us in week one. What do you mean? There was doubt. Who said there was doubt? What do you? What do you mean? My Thomas put us in the half field situation when we were up by ten what are you talking about? But then when I asked him about what's going on in your team when how just wanted to time just take one game time just gotta take one game. The Rams that was an I'm not going to put any more on ramps. Instead, it's just one of them. You know, what I mean like see can't say to somebody are you gonna break the record? Is something he's thinking about. The way to come in through. Let's void the nickname stuff. The patch? Will I think we already texted it to them? I know any shot it down. But he's excuse me. Excuse me. There's a difference between a text there is no tone. There's no tone. There's no tone in text. It's atonal. It's an atonal way of communicating. He's it It can can you? you can you just read his response because I think the tone here is pretty clear I texted him. Let me get this up here just to bring it all full circle. And I know that you all appreciate me as a friend and compatriot, I know, and that's why I'm resigning. To sway. I understand. I have your best winters. Producers don't bring it up best interest in mind. Hey, man. It's rich Eisen. What would you think of a new nickname of the patch role? You know, a play on the nickname of the natural. You can be honest. He writes back hod. No. I don't think I liked that one tire h is understand. But but here I gave him the opportunity to be honest. That's pretty honest. That's not my best shot. Rich, text texting is an atonal method of communication sometimes life. You only get one shot. You had yours you failed. I understand where do you come up with Showtime who came up with that? I I think. Yeah, I think that was a family when when did it happen? Unlike what moment was it? What is was it at high school moment? Was it a a Y S O moment? I don't know. I'm just saying, I know we're just saying also. I'm gonna find out. Okay. But in doing so don't bring up the Pattro. Would you take Mahomes over Mario? And what? You had such Mario to hate to kick off, by the way and every. Come on. Like, I said, I just got to see more, man. You heard Kareem Jackson say here that Dak and mariota are similar quarterback can run out very similar. They're both not franchise quarterbacks. One of them's wanna play off game. While Mark Sanchez has four and he's out of the league for the moment. The return of the Sanchis, by the way, speaking of New York sports, there is in all time Yankee on the hall of fame ballot for the very first time, we will discuss that. We also have an hour number three Jerry Jones. What he said last night. There's one sound that I have yet to play on the show. That's coming up. Also, not one but two National Hockey League stories because there's nothing more disposable in the NHL than a coach and. Be careful what you say in over. Oh my gosh. There's a there's a whole by the way great fantasy team. Name. Ottawa kerfuffle is a whole autoworker Fussell going on right now. But that's all bearing the lead on me asking Patrick Mahomes. Just how influential Derek was on his life. When they met maybe that one time. Dongpo? He's afraid he's calling. He's just watching this last segment in Kansas City, you'd say something better to do Patrouille. No jeeter just please agree to that our three coming up. Hey, it's Adam Corolla pay. "How about this though before we get to that just one more if you've ofa Lewis Brinson for MVP over Christian yelich. I mean, you're also hashtag respecting our to two in the middle of spec the process, right? Because you're proving look, we got the MVP and this deal not. So it's not just the vote for Lewis Brinson. It's a vote for the Marlins and for Derek jeeter and against Christian yelich. Basically he could have just kept yelich that would have made everything feel a little better. 'cause the stand, you could see the contract, you gotta get rid of, why did we are you. Recording us. Mike. What. A holding up the tweet exchange waiting for my lane. And provide the context. It's rebuild seem so much better if it was real meat. So and yelich at the base trade him. Honestly, I don't know just because he didn't want to be here because I mean he's a player that would fit our re to pack the process. Yeah, wouldn't. He would being super affordable and also as a bonus really good, he's such a good hitter such a pure hitter man. He must have been super grumpy pants. I'm guessing. I don't know. Sorry, go aren't their local media. Rumblings yelich may not have been the easiest to deal with. I just think once they started trait because he's, he was the last one here. My wrong about that. It was Zuma and Stanton went, I write they drew a line in the sand with remo-, right? They said, no, I don't care that you wanna get out of here. JT we're not letting you go. You're too much of an asset. Why couldn't they do that with yelich? I mean, I guess they had they thought that they were getting a big return for him, but they did. They did. They might still trade room ITO. That's true. They got future MVP I guess. I don't know though because you'd think that if they would have held onto a little longer than maybe they could have gotten a better deal. I don't know. I mean, I've never been a major league general manager president, so I don't really make these deals. I've never been an owner. You do fantasy though, but I'm just assuming like if you're having a garage sale and you're selling all your things that your last item you're going to get, you know, you're just gonna be like, you know what? I'll take this price as opposed to like, you know, selling a Faberge egg, you know, couple months later. So here was the Twitter exchange that caught the local sports world on, I don't know, like what's smaller much smaller than a fire, a spark. So Samson sent out this tweet after it appeared. Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season and immediately a did not age. Well, he tweeted this out. Anyone else worried about giving about the Packers extension. They gave to Aaron Rodgers, reminds me of the extension given to Ryan Howard one hell of a thank you. And then Rogers came back in the game dominated and had maybe his like for Aaron Rodgers. A person who had. Had a game winning hail, Mary and one to tie in a playoff game at Zona. Then Mike McCarthy bleeped the bed by not going for two that might have been the iconic Aaron Rodgers moment. So it didn't age well, but Christian yelich re tweeted with a comment, and he said, looks like it worked out. All right, don't be so anti player all the time. Bernie earned him. So yelich I don't know how friendly he was with David Samson. We should really ask them. I know Dan's ads just sort of the baseball questions when it comes to the at straighten up so much in a personal stuff..

Mets' Todd Frazier comes clean on fake catch

"Here's what we're talking about. Todd Frazier, who will be at third for the Mets tonight in a game that starts in about an hour, was it? I was at this game on Monday night at Dodger Stadium. Mayday diving catch going into the stands along the third base line in England. He tumbled into the stands and he came out with holding the ball a pie and say it. I caught it in the called the batter out. It turns out Frazier went into the stands drop. The actual play didn't catch it. Saw a youth baseball on the ground. Picked it up, showed it to the empire, the empire called the out. Then he threw the youth baseball back in the staff like he was a good guy to give away as souvenirs. Amazing. I mean, just played it off

Teddy Bridgewater doesn't mind waiting a year to grow under Drew Brees

"Bridgewater has a blank future with the saints. He has a clipboard. Future drew. Brees does not get hurt. Repeat that does not get hurt ju- grease has been with the New Orleans Saints since two thousand and six out of a possible. One hundred ninety two regular season games. He's played in one hundred ninety. So teddy Bridgewater is going to do this year and he's a pro quarterback he's going to do is going to carry clipboard is gonna put that thing in his ear. You know, he's going to walk around on the sidelines, Nick navy down the road, but drew Brees a hall of Famer. He's not leaving it. Well, I think he has a legitimate future with the saints. For this reason, you keep entering juries never got hurt, but he's thirty nine years. Old contract is for two more years of Benchley. It will in Virginia. Reason, as we know in football. Unfortunately, it only takes one hits Bridgewater, do I want to be on the jets with Sam darnold who is going to walk in and be the starting quarterback and the jets are hoping for you know, the next ten to fifteen years. I'd rather be new ones. I think he's a pretty good situation, especially for a guy that was a starter for two years, but in the immediate future. Clinton? Sally, he's never gonna. Got the

Miami Marlins fans invited to bring noisemakers next season

"Okay. So the Marlins we know they don't have, a, lot. Of, fans they got to the teen Derek jeeter yada yada yada well next year the crowd should be a little. Louder because they're allowing noisemakers and musical instruments into one specific section To try. And show pride in their native countries and all that stuff of the fans native. Countries. And get loud according to team the team's website it makes in. Miami very Latin community and if you've, ever, watched, baseball. In, the Dominican Republic or really any country besides here it's a party it's fun and people are singing and dancing Classic and Marlins park yeah. It was a fantastic atmosphere for those games yeah even in Japan out in, the the outfield they usually have supporters sections not unlike say what the seven line does with the Mets but these. People are standing and singing songs for every single batter that comes up throughout the inning and. Then there dead silent when their team is pitching they don't do anything when the opposing team is heading when their teams hitting they have a different song, for each player, that they will clap along to in. Sync to during the at bat it's it's like a party in other places of the, Marlins could bring. That that'd be great but what I envision I know you envision as like three guys up there just and maybe they got like a boom. Box or something I can't I can't imagine this taking off right away or the entire stadium. Isn't that

"Marched to that drum of just kind of do my own thing it doesn't matter those are like the most iconic athletes of all time on the ones who can form it's it's so funny you can see even in like a from a baseball perspective thing about like derek jeeter versus a rod alex rodriguez is a guy who in my opinion yes he took steroids is a guy who kind of feels like he's got to do it by the book or he's trying to be something that he really actually isn't and you can feel the enough entity whereas jeter is dealers like rock and roll to me because he's just his own thing and kind of did it just scape a lot of the pitfalls of what regularly athletes go through i don't know just to me in those two people you see okay this guy's this win this guy's way more of like a kind of like a rock i guess if you will so dodger fan go to dodgers game do it took me a long time to like baseball it wasn't until probably i dunno seven years ago that started really enjoying baseball bit to good time for the dodgers i did i became a dodgers fan and they went to the world series so they're welcome i would like say you're welcome that's really nice that you that you want to become a university of michigan football i love the dodgers and it took me a long time to understand the nuance of baseball and it took a it took a few good friends sitting me down and saying 'cause i just i was like forever right it's long long in between each pitch and then like one batter will take five minutes and then right it took a lot of people some good friends explain to me like no watch now he's behind the count now he's ahead of the count now you have to adjust the whole strategy now this you know the whole game can can turn in one inning right entirely and and now it's lot more exciting and now i enjoy a lot more and i'm a fan crazy is that baseball itself is changing in the same way that they don't know if you've noticed this in the last five years they are starting to do like.

"Creating the anger between the teams and i am beads a great trash talker and i love his game he's fun to watch they're fun to watch switching gears a little bit it's still kind of nba and nfl related aaron rodgers purchased a minute minority share of ownership for the milwaukee bucks rogers is the first active nfl player to own a piece of a major sports franchise in the market in which he plays fact or fiction within the next year there will be another active player with ownership stock in a major sports franchise in another sport i'll say fiction i think it's i mean i know we've seen like retired players obviously derek jeeter with the marlins and now aaron rodgers as you mentioned but i don't i still think it's going to be commonplace when you have to be filthy rich to do it there are guys gave i mean lebron james i'm sure i could buy a part of the become a minority owner in the indians or the or the browse without a problem i mean he's he's gotta be i would think that lebron james is the richest guy in in professional sports in america so he certainly capable and he to this point hasn't i guess at least publicly we haven't heard any interest on his part although there has been talks to maybe someday he want to be ownership in the nba so now i think it's pretty unusual to do that another sport so i i'm guessing we don't see it anytime soon another nfl topic as we both know dez bryant was released by the cowboys i think it was actually the last week but this week the giants released veteran wide receiver brandon marshall setting off rumors that does bryant will be new york bound bryant has expressed his interest in staying in the nfc east and specifically playing for the new york giants factor fiction an odell beckham junior dez bryant partnership is a bad idea that's fat dez bryant is overrated he hasn't been a very good player since two thousand fourteen he has been injury prone he did play sixteen last year but he's still he played sixteen games at eight hundred thirty eight yards.

Calling it an 'awkward situation,' Derek Jeter will skip Marlins' visit

"Number one fuel stabilizer at an all treatment the miami marlins playing yankee stadium tonight opening a routine two game series against the yankees except it's not completely routine because the man currently running the marlins the man who traded slugger giancarlo stanton to the yankees is derek jeter jeeter's not the greatest yankee of them all but he certainly on the list playing his entire twenty year career with the team accumulating more than three thousand hits and being part of five world series champions he no doubt would receive a huge ovation when seen by fans tonight except he won't be there he says it would be awkward why it isn't as if he walked on the yankees to become a free agent he retired and has a new life it isn't as if the steinbrenners offered him the chance to run a team and he said no jeeter should be there it would be a cool senior on john.
