"Plus one 85 cardinals plus three ten seahawks. Ten to one. So did you see did you see the McVeigh reaction to the coal strange pick? Did you follow all that or no? I took it as a compliment. I think he liked cold strange and then everybody tried to be dicks about it. And then, yeah, it was. He was annoyed that they were bothering scouting him, thinking that he could be around for the fourth. Yeah, and then Shanahan was like, that guy was good. I thought we thought he was first rat talent. So that made me feel better. I think rams plus one 40 is great value because with the niners, I don't know, our dude Trey Lance, are we sure? Don't know. We sure he's going to be good. I have no idea what's going to happen with him. What if he's not good? So they swear he's good. I talked to guys there and they're like, no, no, no. But it's not the same. We swear he's good that you heard from mahomes that first year where I was like, holy shit, Alex Smith is getting embarrassed at practice by this guy because he's so good. Alex Smith knows it. It's one of those where it's like, no, no, you don't see it, but he did start three games and showed very little flashes. Now, the issue is Jimmy's still on the roster, Jimmy, he got the shoulder surgery before the combine, so his price on the open market just plummeted. And we know Jimmy Garoppolo is a different kind of cat than a Baker Mayfield or you name it. I'm not a 100% certain that Jimmy's not around come training camp. Like they're not gonna trade them for ten cents on the dollar and at this point the draft is over. By the way. Jimmy Stranger Things have happened. Jimmy just being the starter and September. Yes, and Jimmy being like, oh yeah, sure, I'll compete, let's go. Jimmy is as unique a dude as there is in that he does not take this stuff personally. He doesn't, he just is like, I'll go out and I'll compete, and I'll do what I do, and you guys can shit on me if you want, and you could draft a Trey Lance if you want. Jed York said something very compelling at the league meetings. He was like, we had Montana and young in the same room for years. Nothing is impossible with Trey and Jimmy, who are neither one of them are like combative guys. So niners are fascinating because if they can't trade Jimmy Garoppolo for a premium pick and they have him on the books already I don't know if they trade him at all. Yeah and it's weird because there should be more of a market for quarterbacks with how bad some of the starting quarterbacks are, but some people are just kind of all in on their chips with these guys that we don't like the Giants. I guess they have to do one more year, Daniel Jones, but if I was a giant so that could get Jimmy G for 50 cents on the dollar, I'm doing that. Yeah, I don't know. I'd like Jimmy G I think, by the way, he's another one, like Jimmy G versus dak Prescott. People would say, dak Prescott's better than Jimmy G, Kirk Cousins is better than Jimmy Jay. It's like, is he? When a few playoff games? Yeah, and was playing with a torn thumb and a torn shoulder. And like, does it? So the shoulder pressed by him last year. He was fucking banged up last year and his toughest shit in those days. He could do in the play. He threw some terrible passes. He did. And against Dallas. So does that Prescott? And you're like, what? So does Kirk Cousins? He didn't hurt them in those spots. Now, if jakovsky tart intercepts that pass against the rams, we could be talking about Jimmy G is the Super Bowl contender again. But it's fascinating because he's got a different personality than a lot of these other quarterbacks where and also like in the off season from what I'm told. He's not reading blogs. He's not, he kind of goes off the reservation, just kind of does him. So his ego is not going to be a main factor on this thing, where if they're like, hey, we couldn't trade you, sorry. And he's like, all right, let's go. Let's roll, you know? I think he'd probably be happy to come back. Is that going to some shitty city where he's going to go 5 and a half? Here's the question 5 and 12. Do you think he'd be willing to be number two? I think he would. And he'd be like, yeah, just when her name is cold, let's go. Yeah, there might be some teams that take a look at their quarterback situation, whether it's in August or even after this season starts that Jimmy becomes a little more appealing. Houston's good. I mean, sure. Atlanta. Like Mariota with no offensive line, when is he getting hurt? Yeah. Mariota and they got ridder now, who you love. Where's my guy? They took him to the third. That's a good team for him. Yeah, I was excited for that. Here's a question for you. Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo. If you have to pick one straight up, who are you taking? Jimmy. Really, Jimmy. Yeah. Coming off a shoulder and significantly older, just.

"Last year. They split with the raiders. Yup and then at the tennessee titans. There's always invariably injuries. So i don't say seventeen. No but i'll say fifteen into for the kansas city chiefs. How wrong am i am. I wrong magic. Magic eight ball am i wrong. It's outlook not so good. Maybe this fourteen to three one thing to notice when you look at the chief schedule all of their tough non division games home. Yeah over green bay home for buffalo home for dallas home for pittsburgh. They're healthy man come on if they're healthy lookout. Well yeah i mean. I know i know that. But that's what i'm saying like everybody's waiting for them to take a step back and i think they've redone their offensive line in a very have smart progressive smart way up and i think that they're going to be the favorites to win the afc ethic they will win the afc. Me think they're to make a third straight trip to the super bowl. Everything comes down to any team though. Who has a superstar quarterback. It's really all it's all on that guy's shoulder exactly and that's not from the beyond. So i got some reaction to my jets going. What did i say they were going to go. Six and eleven or island in ten seventy seven dead. Gotta do the by the way. The math is so strange schedule. Great way to to think about it is nc double a. tournament. First round games one. Sixteen to fifteen okay. I see three fourteen the famous five twelve game at the nine seven tans mart. Think about it's a first round seedings from or the. It is the first round right after the plan. Whatever i'm going to the jet seven ten and we got some funny while the one. I'd like to amend if i can i amend us which would about the guy saying he be good with four and thirteen. No now i i. I'd like to amend it to six and eleven. oh we're amending. Yeah what Any particular win. You're giving back. yeah. I'm gonna give back to win at home against spellcheck and week to Somebody sent me like the way that we also talked to jeff. How the athletic and he talked about. How terrific this bella. Check defenses and it's only gonna get better. They got some of their guys back like van noy from another team and obviously hightower from covid. You know From last year where he opted out that. There's no way that a guy who saw that had Sanchez seeing the taint of his teammate and with darnold seeing ghosts is gonna lose to zack wilson. In in game. Two and i kind of agree. So six and eleven. I reserve the rights to amend..

"About situation. When you're wondering what's going on in the stands. I mean what a story that is back here on the rich eisen show for our radio audience. We just played in our peacock. Only segment a Three minute soundbite From when meta world peace was in the studio chair my right Was at three years ago. Two years ago when he was here and mentioned how casually that he sought out and has since become friends with the guy who threw a beer at him at the palace of auburn hills for that famed malice in the palace night that changed so many lives professionally and for him as he said millions of dollars out the door with all the fans acting coming back to renews and a a handful of them now acting so unruly and you know making fools of themselves throwing stuff on the court or spitting on a player or in the case in washington yesterday in dc running on the court actually physically breaching the suit the court space and running out of the stands in hitting the court and that could happen pretty much anywhere in the nba any night if somebody has bad intentions. It's not funny you know it's not funny and that's why we wanted to have him on today. What does he think like. How deescalate is there. A need to de-escalate. I figured let's get him on. That's top of the third hour. We just chatted with the in rappaport moments ago about aaron rodgers and how he says he knows the packers would like to sign him to a long term. Deal the long term deal has to make the situation of jordan love getting his spot before. Aaron wants to give it up disappear. I don't think the packers want to do that clearly. They had an idea in mind when they traded up to go. Get your in love. And clearly they have mishandled. Aaron rodgers by not telling him about it or what seems to me to be a conversation about some form of an extension that rogers and his agent felt was in the end insulting. Because it did not remove jordan. Love taking his spot before he wanted to give it up leaving. That reserved to the packers. What you here is. It was just for this year alone..

"I was still going crazy. Emotional still going opposite directions but the guy who threw a cup of barry john green. Who's a friend of mine. Now was a fifty dollar bit so when the guy raises him and i thought he hit me Comic is no reason for anybody to be raised. Hand chairing because the game is not going on. So i'm like okay you hit. I wanna not direction and in john green. He sold me running. He kind of skimmed it up. Like oh i hope don't doesn't think he's me right so so the guy raises hand because he oh fifty dollars and he hit me so it was just drunk having fun which everybody does that silly things but you know cost me. It cost me tons and tons of millions of dollars. But you're friends with the guy who who hit you with the beer. Absolutely this reason why this is the reason. Why reach out to him. Because i i don. I don't like to hold grudges and then also and this life is bigger than a couple of bear game. Suspended losing tens and tens of millions of dollars and you know life is bigger than that. You understand things happen. You know every move on. How did you re. How'd you find him. How did you find well. When i first got suspended for an out everybody hated me. I was still young. You know in my own mind. I had like three or four personalities at that age or herring things right and i was just going crazy at that age and then say you know. I need to get rid of this. I need to feel better about myself. So i reached out to go on twitter. I said hey if anybody can find his pitcher. I'll take you to lunch. I didn't put the name. Because it was john green. And i didn't want people to think ron tested reach out to john green and start a fight. You know so. I'll put the picture up. And this guy said i know who that is as john green and he found them for me gave me this number. I called the number from direct message. And it said this number has been changed and then it gives you the right number right so and then so. I don't make no sense why they did that back in the days right to ensure not cold cold number. I'd say harrison's run can speak the john his wife insists and she says she says stop playing games. I said i'm serious. This is wrong and then she said. Hey john ron's on the phone right like we are friends. It's the funniest story. I wish we could have found it. John answers the phone and this is the this is the guy who a couple of me. I can see why he's crazy. He answers the phone and says. Hey ron what's up. He knows me you understand what. Hey ron what's up. How you doing very sorry. He said right away. Check to see if it was me like he's just news me i would've i would've i would've paid anything here that it was amazing. It was and he said you know. I'm sorry about what happened. And then he told me the story about the bed. You know Which like while. It made me feel so much better.

"Man he was like. Yeah maybe you don't and now they have to recalibrate which to me is all okay but again like you gotta you know. If you're the packers and you want this thing done like you gotta prove it contractually probably like you said making sure that jordan love is not an issue for rodgers moving forward through his current contract or something like that so okay so we're basically playing a waiting game right here to see how that all plays out and training camp would be one Flashpoint the next one would be the mandatory mini camp and a couple of weeks to see if he shows up right. And at some point jordan. Love is gonna talk. I imagined the packers went through their mini camp last week. Without putting him out there at some point he is going to. You know. Put in his two cents. An he's the future. I mean there's no doubt about it and so interesting for the packers is jordan love by all a great guy like i hear him and rogers heavy really good relation. Everybody likes a no idea what he can do on a football field seems to be a really good person. I'm bending human who probably is gonna handle this extremely well Just we haven't heard from them yet. We heard roger a couple of times Plus singing we don't even know. I don't even know if journalists lyrics to taylor swift salsa reference. You've made to that now. I mean you know. Look we get our information where we get our information. Okay what information you gleaning. What are you. What are you agreeing. What information you gleaning from that. Just living his best life and he's making it like you know and can talk. Did you know that. Aaron rodgers knew how to play the guitar. I i did not. And that was pre june first. So it'll be more costly. Thanks for the call in. I greatly appreciate it. Rich right back to those ian rapoport. Nothing's going to happen man. I'm telling you today. What is it. Why would he put himself on the field get hurt and can't get traded. Why would he do that now. Why these things are going to do. Things are going into july will certainly in rogers's yeah and if you're in like the packers are like yeah. We're we're we're we're all right. Let's take a break. I'll hit this a little bit more when we come back. Eight four four zero four rich number dial and Something that i heard about aaron rodgers at the draft that i mentioned we came back. "Picks that's true okay so Who else is in. Who are you hearing his an patriots one writers one of them who else who else would actually be in and and An you saying the rams being involved doesn't mean like the you only look for people who have the cap room that could absorb that fifteen million in change on the spot right. So who's said well you can always sort of create space but I mean i would say you know. The titans are a team. That's been discussed. Forty niners and careful mentioned rams. We talked about patriots. You know i. I'm sure that they are going to look into it. Not sure would totally makes sense for me Just because you know the value wouldn't be great and they'll still very much cares about value like to me you know. They spent a lot in freights and everybody went crazy. How's it possible. They probably ended up getting some good deals on some free agents. You know like twelve million dollars for the top free agent tight end when it probably should be fourteen. That's actually a good deal. Value is like the patriots care about value then being involved in julio make sense that they would call but i'm not sure they're going to get You know the ravens have had some interest. But i don't think it's going to be a one there and that salary gives them some problems so There those are sort of the teams that have been potentially in the mix. You know the titans do seem to make the most sense Don't know that that has moved. I don't know i. It didn't sound like their conversations. Have been recent. Titans and the falcons ian rapoport here on the rich eisen show and What's the what's the current status of aaron rodgers and the packers. Now that we're were post. June one later on today and something is potentially more likely than it would have been just yesterday even though it seems like The packers are have no intention of of moving this guy. So what do you got for me on that. I would agree. No no intention of moving. And i haven't checked the instagram account of the actress whose name i forget that he's occasioning. With and smiles tellers. Wife is what you're referring to okay had not. I don't know what i'm sure. She's very good. I just don't know what shows that. I had not heard of her before. She started posting about aaron rodgers With i haven't checked her instagram account. Reassuming north he's still in hawaii I don't get the sense. That much has changed at all. And that's another one. Where like there's not much incentive to do anything right now like yes the packers and they've been trying to get a deal done. I know they would really really really like to get a an extension done. That makes him happy to kinda end. This issue. I just don't know that anything happens soon. Like is you know. The deadline for mandatory minicamp is that a real deadline. Like i don't know. I'm sort of let me let me pause you right there okay. Let's let's stop right there. So you know the packers want him to sign a contract. That will make him happy correct. That's what you're saying. So then why wouldn't aaron rodgers want to sign a contract that would make him happy. Is it simply because that contract should have been offered to him the minute. They lost the nfc championship game and he was wondering about his future and it did not calm because of whatever reasoning that caused him to Feel the way that he that has been reported for him to feel and that he confirmed with kenny. Mayne one week ago last night. I mean is that what is this that that that he wanted when he wanted it and it didn't come and he's pissed and he's now going to make them wait. Is that basically a way to look at this right now. I sort of. I sort of think about it like a lot of contract negotiation. This is not the first negotiation to get personal and heated. I would say sideways I don't know that he hasn't. I don't know that he's not finding it. I just know that he hasn't agreed to yet. Like maybe they haven't done a deal. That's good enough. You know i. I mean that's i see this all as a you know there's there's plenty of other parts of it but i see in partisan negotiation so the fact that he hasn't accepted deal just means the offers good enough yet or he's not ready to accept what is what is their current offer. You know so they. They can make this work financially. They can make this were contractually. They can make it so he hasn't guaranteed money. So he's not worried about jordan. Love supplanting him ever so he can retire on his own terms. I mean these are the sorts of things he wants i just. I just don't know that they're there yet. And that was interesting to me in the kenny. Mayne interview was. He didn't close the door on any. No i mean he kicked the can down the road. The way that i turned it as he turned up the heat on good acoustics like he he is. I don't think that this Goose if you will being good equipment is remotely cooked enough for rodgers. We're we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna get that goose cooked even more when he's out there golfing with scientist. As tom. brady's instagram account referred to bryce into shambles. rugby great. i mean july. Sixth is going to be a date. Where you know. Brady and phil get an aaron's face and have fought and with his situation and he'll make a couple comments. That'll be caught on a hot mike words. I mean that that's just going to turn that thing up to spinal tap eleven. As far as i'm concerned that's going to be right a couple of weeks before training camp hats and we're going be wondering if he's going to show up so that's my question for you is if green if if you're wondering if the terms are not a you know to rogers's satisfaction then green bay desire to get him signed long-term or to contract that makes him satisfied. You know the only way that that does that is to make jordan love in operable as his successor in the first year first iteration of his professional contract basically blowing up the clock in the manner that he said he threw a wrench into it with an mvp sees you know. I think this is the rational conversation to be. Had right now is to try and read. Some tea leaves here in. I mean i don't. I don't think any of that is wrong Because that's sort of. I think what he wants and lodgers book that to sort of time situation anyway. Kinda like tom brady did like i'm sure the patriots would've loved to have a succession plan of tom. Brady jimmy garoppolo. Sorry brady screwed all that And roger screwed it up too because he probably had his best season you know maybe except for the super bowl he was. He was awesome last year and the previous year. He had not been as good.

"Having the amount of trust and respect for john kyle makes it so much easier to make a decision like that. Of course. I hear you. But so in other words you jed york. Ceo the forty niners said yes to a trade based on what you heard from your coach and your general manager who you trust implicitly without knowing the name of the player that was gonna eventually be spat out on the last thursday of april. That literally is something you said. Okay go about your valuation. There was no player that they said this is the guy who's the leader in the clubhouse when the trade was made i mean can what can you reveal that no leader in the clubhouse. I mean it was really there. Were you know you you essentially knew who was going one right. I mean. I think we all knew who was going one i. I don't know that that you knew one hundred percent who is going to but you had a pretty good idea who's going to so they were really you know three guys plus you know potentially a fourth. If he didn't go to the jets that you were really looking at it was really three guys. Plus another just in case he didn't go to the jets and i. I think they felt good about all of those guys Early on and they're all intriguing. I think they're all gonna be very successful guys in the nfl I'd i'd rather not play against them. But you know i don't. I don't get to choose. Who other teams. Quarterbacks are so that that's something that that's a rule change that i'd like to implement shed your here on the rich eisen show so did you were you. Were you rooting for enlightened. Not like you're you're you're grinding twenty two but did you have somebody that you wanted in mind and that you're you're glad that it came out or what like why i mean i'm. I'm very glad how came out. And again i think it. I think i've said this before it was a lot easier. You know to choose who you wanted versus who you didn't want because you can make an argument for all five of the quarterbacks that went that that they should have been the first quarterback that went and you know there are things that you can debate about all of them. But i mean. There's there's a lot to like about all the quarterbacks in the draft and for me like i'm not i'm not studying film the way that kyle is or the way the john is you know. And and in terms of the people they i think they. They're all great. Young men. And i think trey is going to be fantastic. He's he's a phenomenal young man. But but the guys were so it wasn't like well you know this is a great player. But there's a characteristic like no character issues with any of the guys. There were no off the field things. There there's just you know it was a very very unique group of young men and it was It was a really cool process. And i think the world of trae lance he's he was on the show Two days before he became a forty niner and You know he literally had me at. Hello and it's just. I can't believe he's i can't really was born in the year. Two thousand. I just can't believe that it's That's that's a little weird you point in the year. Two thousand won't get over that that's an us problem. It's not a problem. That's us working on our own. Our own issues there so When is the question. Did i hear you in an interview elsewhere. Say you think jimmy could be the start of the next two years. Did i hear that jet. Yes i mean really. I mean that's a nice thing about drafting. A young guy is that you know when he's ready to play. He's ready to play like you. You look at you know another quarterback that there have been rumors about. It took him three years to play and he's had a pretty nice career And and again. I think you know we. We love jimmy jimmy. He got us to a super bowl. You know like there's a lotta great things to like about jimmy and that. That's the thing about when you're looking at the quarterback position the the amount of money that that a quarterback you know demands and sort of takes to to be able to to field somebody. That's not a rookie is a lot of money. And there's obviously a savings having a rookie quarterback so some of that savings goes to you know a guy that can help you get back to a super bowl. You know a guy that can play very very well when when he's stayed healthy and has done a great job like you didn't twenty nineteen for us. I have no problem having to really really good answers a quarterback there and allowing a young guy who just turned twenty one. You know to to get his sea legs so to speak on durham. Like there's i have no issue with that whatsoever now. That aforementioned quarterback who's in the news that did take three years to be the starter that was in a time however when there wasn't a fifth year option and you know and winning in somebody's first contract in the nfl was at such paramount importance. Based on what you just said the cost savings of having somebody on a first contract in the nfl. That doesn't factor into your fa-. I mean that doesn't factor into your thinking as as a chief architect there in in santa clara. I mean if i if i said this to you if i said the first two draft picks that that we had two number ones are no longer on the team. Our best draft pick from our first class was our was our fifth round selection and you know are are. Are you excited about your team. Going forward you know. Are you excited about your team like. Do you think your team is gonna get to a super bowl year. Three if you're two first round picks from the from the first year are no longer on your team you. You'd probably say no you. You'd probably say like this disaster this this didn't work and i think that's where everybody looks and says well you know it's a first round pick like it has to be a home run right away. I i'm looking at the entire the entire picture. Like what are we doing to be successful. And i think you know. Obviously we didn't have the the year that we wanted last year in terms of you know our record but the things that we overcame an organization as a team the injuries that we had being kicked out of our home and going to arizona. Like i think we we showed a lot of a lot of fortitude. And i feel like we can compete right now. Whether jimmy's quarterback whether trays the quarterback whoever it is and you know if jimmy gives us the best chance to win than jimmy is going to be a quarterback. So we're going to spend the same amount of money as anybody else in terms of the nfl and the salary cap so whatever that makeup looks like as long as we're getting to the right result like i'm comfortable with it and plus i guess you got to just live with your decisions and live in a moment because we could all be gone by sunday right jet. I mean we we could be. I mean if we're gonna make it to. I heard that hoping that we do were you. One of the people texted your coach on that sunday to sound. Still here. kendall did. Were you know i didn't i didn't but but speaking of george yes like i mean i think georgia's he's easily one of the top people in the nfl. Just just an awesome guy and awesome awesome awesome football player first person ever to do a handwritten card for me to say thank you for a new contract ever in the nfl. Since two thousand and five my first year first guy ever to do a handwritten card. What do you do. He sent you a thank. You note handyman. Thank you note he he. He lost it last year after we had done the deal. And he's like guy who wanted to hand deliver you a college and beautifully written card. Thank you know the first time. I've had a handwritten note from from any player for doing a contracts. No kidding yes. Signed george thanks. Thanks jed for for the for the long term deal not the only other guy that i haven't handwritten card from a deal with any guesses. Well i mean geez. I'm i'm i'm excited about now. You really believe that though right you really believe that right now about football here. Collegiate football program. What does that. I know any. What are you what are you are you insinuating. Are you implying. what are you doing. Jen i see our student athletes and and the guys that go there were just an education. I feel like we have. We have the best pure student athlete program in the country. So are you. Are you talking about the provost. The campus is southbound right. Absolutely they've they've done a great job. Done great coaches terrific I love when he comes on the show broncos. I think he's terrific i. I'm i'm very very happy. I think notre dame is not the easiest place to be the coach as as your alma mater not the easiest place. There's very very lofty expectations. and i think. Brian's done an amazing job with the expectations. And i think he fits very very well in south bend. It's awesome to see jed york here on the rich eisen. Show the ceo of the san francisco. Forty niners always kind enough to spend some time with us right here on this first day of june. Anything going on with your team lately. Jeddah evans senior. You know the headlines at all. What's going on i mean we. We don't have any more drastic trade not much to do right now. I love that. Let let me just jump in here. because there was so much conversation as to how it all went down and how it did work its way to trae lance being the guy chosen by your organization. Did this start where you know. Like hey It's a weekly meeting or it was just placed on your schedule coach and john wanna talk to you. John lynch to general manager sit down and they laid out. Hey we wanna make a monster move up the draft board. Is that how it gets presented to you. And you were part of this Of this machinery here in the forms. Yeah i think they saw the the class and there were definitely a number of guys. That were intriguing And just knowing that we wanted to be respectful to our current players. We want do anything you know where we were having sort of sneaky meetings and trying to you know be stealthy like we wanted to just make sure like if we're going to do it we're going to do it out in the open and make sure that we did the entire process and evaluated all the guys as thoroughly as possible and let everybody know here who that decision could affect like. This is what we're doing and and we're going to be very very straightforward about it and you know there was a lot of meetings a lot of i mean i can't remember how many guys and how many times they saw each of the the prospects sort of in person and going to pro days and things like that but there were certainly a lot of things and you know i could tell fairly early on how focus kaya was and i just i just sort of pull back where instead of getting updates off of every time. They watched film and you know every time that they saw somebody in person or had a conversation. It was just like look when you guys are ready to sit down and make the decision. you know. we'll get together the week of the draft and that's sort of what johnny kyle decided I can't remember the exact day. But i think we got together. Monday before the draft The final day that we got together. But i'm hitting the way back machine all the way to probably late february early march you know when that trade was made because You know again i know. You're very prideful as well you should of putting together An organization After the turnover. That that you went through that the coach general manager. And then you delegate. That's that's what they do but I'm assuming you know all that draft capital that gets moved around for player that is going to eventually be. Your new. Starting quarterback does require your checkmark right. Oh for sure okay. And then we had that conversation. But i mean it was check ins in between were i. I mean you can tell how focus kyle was like you. Don't you know your decision. Week-to-week day to day doesn't really matter. So i definitely shifted gears from there so we tried to not. It was like one of those things where it's hard to not talk about it but it was like look like we're not going to put that on the agenda anytime we get together. Because you know kyle kyle can change his mind. You know based off of different things and it was. It wasn't worth it to try to go through it at that point. But i mean if you go to the way back machine it was you know this decision. We're thinking about making and if we do it we're we're going to be bold and and again. I think it was important for us to be to to really control our destiny gonna get you know. We knew that we weren't going to get to the first pick. We were pretty certain that we weren't going to get to the second pick so we. We knew that we wanted one of the next quarterbacks that we're gonna go And we just talked about how to get there and what we're comfortable with and.

Staley is is one of just to players still on the team at fifty three. That's how much turnover there can be on an NFL roster especially when a team has a bad stretch and and the forty niners had a really bad stretch the season after the super bowl loss. They won just eight games against eight losses. Coach Jim Harbaugh WHO's idiosyncrasies were tolerable during the winning seasons had worn out his welcome? We just couldn't get to a place where you know either side was was willing to continue to move forward onto a new coach and a new season with even worse results. Five wins eleven losses Ben. "We go. Let's get to go. Congratulations. Maller. How about that? The third degree. This is one big vast gets grail. Below forty Niners owner jed York said in an interview the other day that he was so distraught. When Jimmy Garoppolo went down that he punched a hole in the wall. I'm sure he did pen how much better do you think the Niners would have been? You know, had Jimmy played not much. I would have been much at all first of all Jimmy Garoppolo while the idea of Jimmy Garoppolo is great. He is an unproven commodity. He's a big tease. And when he's played he's been okay. He's been pretty good at times to excite people. But he's also driving the Mr. softy truck play with the patriots just a little bit. When Tom Brady was suspended. He got hurt plate with the forty Niners. Just a little bit. He got hurt. And Secondly, jed York, you talked about your your emotions and all that stuff the forty Niners. They have an out this a big year for Jimmy Garoppolo. If he sucks this year, he gets hurt. Again, there's an opt out in his contract in twenty twenty. And I know my friends in Boston who think that Jimmy Garoppolo is gonna come crawling back to the patriots as the air to Tom Brady. He's gonna have another bad year with the Niners and go back to keep an eye on that next. Well, let's assume for a second that brought gronkowski really is done playing for good. But groggy gronk ES. Where would you put him on the list of all time? Great tight ends, Ben. So you want me to do we call this gone radio list radio and honors David Gascon, the lazy guy who does all of this. I I would. A rob gronkowski. He's the most dominant force in the history of the tight end position. He is king of the hill. A number one nightmare match up. So I've got him number one too fast for slow linebackers able to run over small defensive back. So he's number one. The only problem is the only played nine years, but I can overlook them. So I I got ahead of Gonzales. I got him header, Shannon Sharpe. If there's one game. I would rather have gronkowski than Antonio gates. He's guys next. Eminem. Eminem tweeted out a request to the af this weekend suggesting that they should allow fights like hockey to make the games more. Interesting. Yeah. Would you tune in fighting we're allowed? Well, if Marshall Mathers wanted I'm all for it. Right. I'm like why? Not right. It's a mildly JV operation sumo wrestling. How about some sumo wrestling you failed?.

Courageous 49ers cheerleader has my MVP vote

"You're listening to the spoken edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. Courageous forty Niners cheerleader has my MVP vote by Scott Osler. It's a little early to hand out the NFL MVP award. But you know, what they say votary and vote often. So I'm voting for Kayla Morris Morris is a member of the forty Niners gold rush dance team when the raiders played the forty Niners Levi's stadium on Thursday. The gold rush was on the field for the national anthem Morris. First dente fide by KRLD channel four took a knee. Will she be kicked off the squad suspended warned or reprimanded? That's a mystery. The team is in commenting on Monday. She was listed as a gold rush member on the team's website since team owner jed York has expressed support for the protesters starting within forty Niners quarterback, Colin Kaepernick. It seems unlikely Morris will be punished that would be a tragic organizational cop out it takes backbone to stay. End up for the nealer 's and your along with one or two other NFL owners has stood tall side note. Eric read a free agent safety with protests, baggage was signed by the Panthers four games ago. The forty Niners also made him an offer and on Sunday. He sparked Carolina's win over Tampa Bay with an interception. He was awarded a game ball apparently the distraction slash circus of a player. Taking a knee has not destroyed. The Panthers capper Nick read and others risk their careers to make an important statement courageous stuff for sure, but they already had made millions in the NFL Morris in her second season with the gold. Rush has not made millions in the NFL. She's made hundreds who knows what ramifications Morris faces at her day job or in her life. She's choosing not to comment so much for protesters seeking spotlight criticism capper Nick is still the face of the protest. But sadly, he's also the spokesman for don't waste your time. Voting and is the darling of the vote suppression movement capper Knicks protests and community action are still valid and productive.
