"Your father's listening to the radio. I'm not very sure This'll is the any fry show. Welcome back to the any fry show. The latest news here is is a report from Fox News. President Trump is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday that will ensure all Americans have access to the Corona virus vaccine before the United States government begins 18 nations around the world. Looks a little bit more like his America first policy in action. Senior men afraid. Administration officials told Fox News Monday that the president will re emphasize to the American people that the quote priority has been an American first. America first approach and quote. During a vaccine summit at the White House Tuesday. So that's interesting to hear that he's going to do that, and I'm sure that will cause Lots of people to cheer and other people to contort themselves into positions of they haven't been in since yesterday. So that's the latest there with Fox News. I came across this article On social media this weekend and it actually, you know, you know, you could weigh always joke on the show about how we message back and forth. And we say l o l But Katie will message me sometimes during the show, and I'll say something to her, and she'll write back, Ella Well, but I can see your face on the Facebook live of the YouTube live like you did laugh out loud. You might have thought it was you thought it was mildly amusing. What should be its own thing. Like, uh, you know, I'm a man. I was reading through my Facebook feed, and I saw this post and I actually did laugh out loud when I read it. This is this is the headline from an ABC seven Chicago dot com. Report. Illinois State representatives caught At large, downstate political gathering with no masks, social distancing, So they were outed. And Jeannie Ives was one of those that was outed at this event, and I had to laugh because before I saw that article I had seen post from many of these representatives who I'm friends with sharing photos. It made it feel like maybe it wasn't so much like they were caught. Jeannie. Great to have you back on the show. You've been outed by ABC, Chicago. How do you feel about this? It is very scandalous. We're glad to have you here to talk about it. Oh, boy. I didn't know that. You know, anybody cared what I was doing to begin with, let alone we're not wearing a mask in the restaurant happens all the time. Just came from restaurant sat down, and I didn't wear a mask too. So I mean, these people have nothing better to report on other than Oh, I think 88 8 People were killed in Chicago this weekend. I mean, this is This is just par for the course and media are Children. Children. That's what they are, and that's how people should treat them. I cannot agree with you more. And then I think that the greatest failure of our country right now is the complete and total absence of journalism of people who want to get to the bottom of truth. You know, forget which politics it ends up falling on whose side ends up getting credit or blame for anything. There's nobody who is out there Advocating for truth's everything so grossly political And you kind of got swept up in it here. I'm curious at this event. There are other state representatives that were there. It was a Christmas party as I understand it, and you know, some people are saying it's hypocritical for these these politicians to be at this event together when the state is telling them That they need Tiuna shut. Their business is down and everything And I'm quick to say you need to make sure you know which politicians in the state are saying, saying what? Because there's a stark contrast between the Democrats leading the state of Illinois right now. And those Republicans who maybe not in much of majority, but are there advocating for freedom? Well, that's exactly right. I mean, there's nothing hypocritical about Dan Hawkins and Brad Hall Brick and Darren Bailey being there. Ah, months. Friends who, by the way Nobody was forced to show up. This was not a mandatory of the session or something like that. You know, it was you could voluntarily go or not. Go Listen. Nobody looted there. Nobody broke any windows. Piece wasn't disturbed These air people voluntarily getting together, making their own adult decisions like adults do, and these guys are not to hit. The Christians are the ones who stayed that you should be able to make decisions on your own and not have some guy sitting in Springfield or actually in in Chicago, in his mansion, making decisions on your life and your livelihood. Of a God. I've just I'm shocked. The people would call them hypocrites. They're not at all They're freedom fighters. Yeah. Isn't this an example of the exact opposite of that G. Ives, a former Illinois state representative. You you're leading by example. You're saying this is what we should be doing? You're doing it. Uh, precisely if I like we weren't nobody was hiding. By the way. This was That's why there was posted on Facebook. We we didn't care to hide it. By the way, I'm just a private citizen here, too. On top of that, it knows the newsmaker anymore. I have a feeling he could be. Still, I want to ask you about what Governor Pritzker has been doing. Specifically We've seen hypocrisy from him. You know, Originally, when these mandates came down, he was visiting Wisconsin. This family is visiting Florida and we've seen case after case after case across the country. Of Democrats in leadership who say rules for thee, But not for me. What do you think should happen to these Democrat leaders and I say Democrat because they're all Democrats. There are no Republicans shutting anything down anywhere and then doing something different, so that's not Democrats to say to call out a party. It's just who they are. Um, what do you say to these Democrats who are making these rules? The Austin mayor in Kabo While he's telling everyone they need to stay home..

"Jeannie Ives ran for office she nearly upended then governor Bruce ran. owner in the Republican primary now she's running for the congressional seat held by freshman Democrat Sean Castin but she's got a Republican primary race against former lieutenant governor Evan lane Sanguinetti first she going to do that well we'll ask her hello I'm political editor Craig della more and this is at issue. my guess is we get is six the district Republican congressional candidate Jeannie eyes before she ran for governor in before she was a state lawmaker ms Ives was a week and city council member but probably much more life changing Jeannie eyes is a U. S. army veteran she made her mark in the Illinois house of representatives as an outspoken and staunch conservative he ran a tough race against Bruce router and that will figure into the campaign she's running now Jeannie I was walking back thanks for having me on again Craig I appreciate it well I'm sure this will be the last time my house and I'll have to do some something else during the primary but how much of this campaign is about finding the balance I mean you're secure in your support from conservatives but the Republican Party regulars and man moderate seem to feel safer with Evelyn Sanguinetti or are you saying something different. no we don't believe that anybody is really backing of one's campaign to any great degree you know we've looked at some Plumeri point that other people have done and quite frankly our campaigns in great shape to win this primary and move right on into the general election and take out Mr cast in. are you launch your campaign with the in part with the video and I'm going to quote from from it because my colleague Rick Pearson from the trade I'll give him credit where credit is due he highlighted this demonization of disagreement is crippling our politics and dividing our country but when you give a speech later that day you spoke of the democratic incumbent Sean cast in as a reckless spiteful demagogue and fellow Republicans Sanguinetti as the number one cheerleader for former governor Bruce Rauner so can you be the candidate who can find common ground and the warriors from the right a one hundred percent I can be first of all the quote is misquoted because the demonization a quote is actually about somebody that John cast an elevated as somebody he admires and that would be Dan savage who is a hateful spiteful demagogue who at one point said that all Republic publican should just be blanking dad so that's that's where that came from there the demonization folks and that's who Shaun Cassidy has aligned himself with as far as the Sanguinetti any comments I've made is basically how she has aligned herself with the rounder failed agenda and and and you know core principles that violates Republican platform so I were happy to stand on our record my record really odd in Springfield as you know opposing supporting taxpayers an opposing tax size at hikes I was looking forward to government accountability which I did a number of times as working with my Democrat colleagues to expand access to health care across the state so we do feel though that it's gone gone too far that to our folks have demonized the other side in fact Sean Castin has of literally said that he doesn't believe in bi partisanship and he is also mentioned in in one of his more recent town halls that he didn't think there was anybody good on the other side meeting our side so we look to find common ground and to solve problems the six district is full of great. people that solve problems in their everyday lives in there and in their businesses and we want somebody to go to Congress who will represent those really good of policies that that a band that are throughout the the six district in the values of the six district from there just to specially the weakness of the center of that district has long been known as a GOP stronghold but is it really the same weakness that really is the district really the same district it was not just because it is elected John cast in the last time out but it's more diverse more young families there there's there's there's celebrated homeless shelter in place where almost people were almost outlawed in downtown Wheaton for a little while so I mean is it is it changing we is a very it is a very generous community it is full of really good hearted people who want to serve others so from the DU page public action deliver shelter to the people's resource center to world relief which finds its home in Wheaton as well odd look our district is full of people who want to do the right thing a lot of course we have a large amount of churches there and not for profits that serve everybody from the different fell mentally disabled to to the poor and so we're proud of that record and so you do fine folks there who who want to do the right thing and honestly the Democrats had a incredible ground game and Sean casting was not defined at that point in fact he could stand up and say anything that he wanted to our last time and nobody would know the difference but now the left's agenda is completely on mast they're not hiding who they are from you know wanting to socialize healthcare and get rid of private health insurance to abolish gene the immigration and customs enforcement agency to you know in fuse and identity politics into every policy choice they are unreasonable and on serious people I mean if they're not trying to take away your red meat they're trying to take away your red hat. and. nobody you know this in Shawn cast as it represents that far left contingency that those coastal leads his leader Nancy Pelosi he represents them and not truly the six district or wheat. well I do want to get to some of the issues that will exist in the in the general election but you've got to get through the primary for sure what is the choice. for Republicans in this election as they as they go forward in the primary. what well I I think that the choice is obviously to vote for Jeannie eyes because I'm a proven entity you know I've I water rendering between. well you're really choosing between somebody who is on prove and enter and terms of their political courage and whether or not they will stand up for core principles because my opponent has never been tested really on the battlefield of policy discussion at a at a bigger level she's never been tested never been tested on how she will vote one way or another and and actually it has never been somebody who is formulated her own policies and then push those forward into a an at and and pass legislation even though you're sitting in the super minority and the minority so I think I mean I've got a proven track record of work week will reach across the aisle quite frankly and working to improve people's lives and my opponent simply doesn't have that record what would you say is the biggest example of your being able to do something in a bipartisan way. so do this and this is important for people understand because of a representative really represents they're not so arrogant as to think that they know everything about every policy area and so they actually some of the best ideas on policy come from the constituents that you serve one of those policies that came forward it was a from a man who sold insurance on the the private market and he brought forward a bill saying look you know we've we've got a problem here where in the middle of a premium you're you've got health insurers and providers of separating from each other and leaving the policy holder out in the cold we need to fix this so I presented a bill to fix that that bill it took about two years to to complete that bill morphed into what we call the network adequacy bill and the the chief sponsor of that bill was a one of the most liberal members of the democratic caucus but I am the chief co sponsor on that same legislation that I initiated and then passed on and that bill was passed unanimously in both the house and the Senate and it's it's become a real a god sent to folks especially rule Illinois the need to be assured that they would have adequate healthcare so it's just one example the other example would be my college to page reform I look I've always been serving in the minority that reform would not have gone for without Democrat help because actually I had Republican standing up against that legislation but that legislation became the model for further higher for higher education reform not just for community colleges but for all higher education institutions in Illinois. just as a quick aside are you are you satisfied with how the reforms of have taken hold it COD yes in fact I was on the this presidential search committee that brought in the first president who instituted those reforms and then I was on the second presidential search committee for the second president who just took over Hey I'm even a solid foe of abortion and governor around and you were opposed governor around or signing a bill H. B. forty the the infamous bill title if people know now that expanded public funding for abortions are you said Evelyn Sanguinetti didn't publicly oppose what the governor did she said you were wrong and she produced a printed statement that the did in fact back her up. so the question is Hey were you wrong and what did or didn't Evelyn Sanguinetti do that was wrong. well first of all putting out a press release after the decision is made Ben made is not publicly opposing a bill imagine had I sat in the state house and simply after they passed a a huge tax hike then put out a statement later saying while I oppose that bill but didn't actually fight and make my my my stance known publicly so as to influence the debate so that is essentially what Evelyn did on H. B. forty she put out a press the statement afterwards and then at the final part of that press statement essentially said. we now can't we all just come together and talk about things we agree on. really this is one of the one of the biggest issues that they face and they failed to put in a policy odd choice that most of the Republicans stood by and then after afterwards they want us to just come together so Evelyn played her part perfectly she put out a statement trying to bring conservatives back into the fold and you saw the result of that they you know they ended up losing the general election. how to raise this into more the than at the national level how much do you believe that this primary is going to be a referendum on Donald Trump. well the primary will be a referendum on Donald Trump well maybe not the. although I'm not that I'm not sure if I know that there are some things that Evelyn Sanguinetti does opposed to that the president is done there the US state and local tax deduction for example is one thing I don't know what your position is on on that but though those of X. but but the general election that we are talking about is that going to be a referendum on Donald Trump. I don't believe so honestly because at unlike the twenty eighteen election of Donald Trump was not on the the ballot and so to some degree when you look at. how people perform versus Donald Trump verses that the congressional candidates you can maybe make some assumptions about a whether Donald Trump was a factor not but now Donald Trump is on the ballot and so if people don't like him they can vote against him however you have seen increases support for Donald trump's policies maybe not as per sauna but certainly his policies and when you've got the lowest black unemployment when you've got a soaring economy and you do have a strong economy despite this all dire straits action you know you've got mixed signals for every student statement you may say is there is a a problem with a com you've got nine other positive points to the con me trade is actually grown sixteen percent since twenty sixteen are each so what we have more more in very trading partners even as we still have a problem with our China grid tariff agreements so I think Donald trump's in great shape for reelection especially when you look at the nonsense coming out of the entire Democrat a field there on serious again third just unreasonable and so are you off I think that my race is going to stand alone against on cast and I'm we should probably establishing where you stand on on on on the trump spectrum here and that is the kind of rhetoric that he's become known for whether it's through tweets or his his speeches are you comfortable with the with that I am with those kinds of pronouncements from him look I'm not Donald Trump he's not me and you have to look to the policies that have been implemented by him conservative judges great idea the tax cut overall very beneficial especially the corporate tax cut which is help corporations reinvest in their own plants and people. job growth up tremendously our stature in the world no one is is very good the idea that we should start to acts of Afghanistan over time I'm in favor of that as a military mom so and as a veteran quite frankly so I think overall you have to look at it to the policies of an employment by the by the folks. but. should people ignore the words Elaine do they not matter I mean can you can you really have presidential words not be a.

"Back on the laura ingraham show a big gubernatorial primary today in illinois and this is the gop race to well to challenge and unseat sadly bruce rounder who a lot of you listening across the country like why do i care about illinois chicago the big mass and well wait a second wait a sec if the republicans have a chance putting in a solid conservative in this in this governorship then why not take the opportunity to do it and for those of you who don't know bruce rounder he and his wife just apparently gave fifty thousand dollars to planned parenthood of illinois for its generation celebrations gala that's in just one donation in august rounder signed what infuriated conservatives and they've labeled it a sanctuary state law it basically protects illegals from being detained due to their immigration status so oh of course jeannie ives has a great commercial on that it's just expose rounder for betraying conservatives harpic and their other people in the race but the only person you need to know about is ms ives and she joins us now jeannie how are you nice to talk to you how we're doing great for her we're so excited about today well there are a lot of people who seem to believe that despite his incumbency that bruce rounder is vulnerable because now the word is out about him in his betrayal of the conservatives give me the top three reasons why republicans listening across the state should get out and vote on a on a day that they might wanna do something else well republicans have a chance right now to hold their elected officials accountable for his actual actions and that's what the primaries about primaries about holding those elected officials accountable and bruce has been unaccountable to the republican party i mean your your colleague tucker carlson got it right he said bruce rauner is at seic republican it's perfect it's exactly what he is he faked us all out and we've had enough after sanctuary state tax payer funding of abortion in a state that is bankrupt and he refuses to.

"The white house a few months ago i know people in the white house virtually no and i talked to people who sometimes can be candid about the president candidly speaking there are people around the president who wish he didn't tweet i can tell you that that shouldn't be a shock they don't like the tweets they don't think he's on well i don't think he's mentally ill there's certainly isn't any talk of the twentyfifth amendment but this is serious this jusin attempted coup there are people sitting on the sidelines who aren't very well plugged in and they're hearing this crap of their thinking oh my gosh we have a crazy man in the white house and i i'm tired of just short of laughing about this and leading it roll off our backs this is serious who is a serious thing it's you know potentially disastrous for the country and and some could argue it's treasonous and i'm reluctant to use that word but my goodness if you are trying to concoct this narrative that could lead to the removal of a president because you disagree with him or you don't like his temperman or his tweets that's a that's not a that's not funny that is not fun this isn't lighthearted we are maybe facing a serious crisis in this country and we ought to be able to stand up and we need to voice sharp are concerned there has to be an extraordinary pushback over what were seen unfold here in the united states i want to share with you some of what david brooks writes about the craziness the nutty news of some of the never trumpers particularly on the right and that's coming from david brooks of the new york times that and more all coming up a little bit later this hour you're going to meet somebody who's and upandcomer in illinois state politics which is already wellknown genie isaf's who wants to be able noise next governor i'm going to visit with her tomorrow in chicago and i want you to meet or a little bit later this hour she is a terrific terrific person a veteran state representative and you'll meet jeannie ives a little bit later in the meantime i i want to talk to you one eight hundred six five five mike is our number eight hundred six five five six four five three you.
