"And an investment in affordable healthcare via sort of financial stability, sort of measures so heavy focus on where the country's got mystical listen to what Joe Biden had to say. After 100 days of rescuing renewal. America's ready for takeoff in my view. We're working again. Dreaming again. Discovering again. Leading the world again. You've shown each other and the world. But there's no quit in America. None. 100 days ago. America's house was on fire. We had act. So Katherine after the trump years. That's a very different sounding president, isn't it? Absolutely. And I think that's what a lot of Americans have been looking for. After he assumed office. Rachel was someone who was able to take control of the Corona virus pandemic and that you certainly what he has managed to do with his 1st 100 days since he assumed office, and that's why we're seeing his approval rating hovering in the mid fifties, which is higher than what President Trump managed. To achieve and I think that the pandemic and the way in which he has managed to handle it has really distracted many Americans, as he has shown that he's able to teach some of those big ticket items. I think the attempts and now she's Rachel to some more of those difficult agenda right items that he needs to action. Such is tackling long running issues in America like gun control and immigration, which he may not have as much success doing. Frog the size of a newborn baby is causing a social media frenzy in the South Pacific. A photo of a small boy holding the giant frog has been shared thousands of times. And when I say big, I mean the size of a newborn baby Evan was super reports from Honiara. It started with a photo posted to Facebook that the shed and reposted so many times that of court that tension of conservationists Jean Thomas So I saw a picture of a small child holding a very large frog, and I think it was on a PNG website. Facebook page to begin with. Jean Thomas is the chief operating officer for PNG can kill a conservation alliance. A group of 50 rainforest communities in Papa New Guinea. The picture, she's referring to shows a boy around 10 years old, holding up a frog that spans most of his upper body. The information in that picture was very similar to what we had heard from local people, saying that it's the size of a newborn baby. So we had heard about this frog in the church Elise. Many years ago on we had small samples off that frog, but never the size of a newborn baby. And the frog that the child was holding was certainly very, very large. So we were curious to find out if that was the same species. There were no distinct features in the photo to identify its location in Melanesia. With many Facebook users, claiming it as their own intrigued Ms Thomas through the question back into social media ether and kicked off of virtual frog hunt. One of those watching was Solomon Islands biologist Dr Patrick Piccata and shows one of the largest if not the largest frog in the Southwest Pacific. Mr Mrs. Within days of posting, she had answer attract the source to Jimmy Hugo, who took the photo on the outskirts of Honey era. Yes, I thought only few people will see it. And then suddenly I saw lots and lots of people, comment and surprise and and they were like taking all this progress from PNG and there's no I I told his father is just in the Guadalcanal just in Honiara in Solomon Islands and PNG, this species of frogs traditionally hunted Foot's meat and his prized by locals, and he's referred to as Bush Chicken Doctor Pick archers is well qualified. Copia is hunted and eaten. Its decline in Solomon Islands in recent years has more to do with logging and community settlements expanding into their natural habitat, whereas humans are also using the streams for for washing. And so when we add in detergents until the stream, you know, puts all these chemicals from the detergents into the stream. And so that's having an impact on frogs like this, because I know a lot of guests Exchange also cares through the skin on the very sensitive to water quality. And while the frog shit and Facebook is large doctor, Picard just says he's come face to face with the larger ones on the island of Gattaca, in the western province with the Frogs have flourished because of a lack of predators. I've taken a picture off one of those frogs. It's not vent length of about 30 centimeters. This. Imagine this the length of your realize the size of that frog and that frog had a ground crab in its mouth across station. Ah, huge ground crab. There was busy eating and couldn't jump. So I just went decided and patted this frog like a Like a little puppy dog. It was huge. Heads biologist Dr Patrick Piccata, ending that report by Evan was super in Honiara. Early signing day: Latest on the nation's top 25 college football recruits

"It's signing day part one in college football with the early signing period. now which. I'm sure coaches love because they championship games and bowl games. All that other stuff. It is obviously been a very busy time for the uc coaching staff. And a big reason why is putting together a twenty three players signing class or recruiting class. I should say for the the class of two thousand and twenty one during the early signing period we are obviously huge fans of bear journal. Dot com chad. Brendel comes on this show all the time. He'll be with us tomorrow at three forty five but because it is sunday i wanted to bring in brent young who also covers. Uc's sports and pretty heavy recruiting emphasis for bearcat journal dot com. He is on twitter at. Excuse me at be young sports and He's with us this afternoon. I appreciate the time. What should i what what stands out most about this. This particular group of players the bearcats have inked You know what really stands out to me. The most i often travel on. It's just kind of the debt that that numerous positions the the high level of talent. It might not have the the top players like you know. You have last year with with prater and jean thomas and jane thompson. The four stars really really kind of flooding the top of the list. But what was really shown and this one is just the death and the amount of talent that they're able to bring in not really clear that you would expect kind of just be headliners for each class but just the amount of players that are highly rated at each physician. You're going to have numerous players. They're going to have big impact next year special teams but more further down the line right. Give me one or two players. That if i look at this bunch and i'm trying to find a kid who's gonna make an immediate impact year one or two stands out. You don't have to go with i. Brian threats i think first off. He's one of the seven early enroll. East coming in is going to be a player out of you. Know w kaufmann there and the clubs. They're gonna come in and be a player that wants to get on the field no matter what so. You're going to see him on special teams quite a lot. You're going to see him trying really find his role on the defensive side. You know obviously defense is going to have a humorous players that are going to have to be funneled out and figured out who's going to be replacing all the seniors that are currently on the roster. So yeah i think threats comes in. He has a knack for the ball defensively. He has the ability to make big plays. You know you play offense as well as the high school level but really defensively special teams where. I'm expecting him to kind of have almost an immediate impact and then outside of that You know give me. Give me an office alive because it seems. Recently we have causes there possibly had numerous true freshman. Kind break that that that you know. Talk to on the depth chart. And i think that you look at a player like luke collins where who could step in at the tackle position is one of the better fruits that program history for the bearcats. And i think he's gonna have a chance to really kinda shy know now. Land is gonna have a chance to really shine but and then of course you look at the depth as i've constantly mentioned it's going to be hard for some of these players really crack the rotation because now you see we've been able to turn you know one as one bs and constant we have players available at each position. So really specialties. Would be the place to watch out for. Maybe i'd a toxic to watch out for who could have an impact on kickoff teams kickoff return team things of that sort. There are seven kids from the greater cincinnati area around up the kids from from From from from this class from the greater cincinnati area. yeah. I talked about Gmc defensive player of the year. It of seems like that's been that the bearcats have been able to do is bring in big time defensive players from the great cincinnati area and that first off. He has a fantastic a phenomenal nickname. And it's the godfather dante. I mean better. Carry that with him and he'd better have it all the way throughout his playing career. Whether it is in the nfl anywhere he goes. Dante corleones the godfather of course from rain high school. He's going to be a cog in the middle. You shake his hand and he just completely engulfs your hand. It makes you feel small just a bowling ball of a player. And he kinda of exact situation as i say of the death i mean. He's he's the second lowest rated player in this entire recruiting class. But you've accused. Gmc defensive player of the year. you get sacks. he's going to be a big shopper. Upfront i mean forced. You gotta mentioned the land fickle. That really great story about him is is of course he. He sat down at the dinner table with his father. And he said you know data. I think i'm gonna be a bearcat and and we've said no. I don't accept that i need a little bit more. You know force behind that. And that's you know he said okay came back days later and i'm sure he fought as much force as possible and You know land is going to be a player. That i think is surprised. Because he's got the talent that his dad has of leeward hours another great flare out of princeton. I mean you just keep on going up and down the list and then of course you know you got ice. Jarman is a good outside player. And i already talked about mouth glenn. This is just going to be another one of those. The state of cincinnati is what they call it and and keeping hometown heroes around the greater cincinnati area. They're all gonna big impact on the team. All right look. I'm not gonna ask you to be an expert on every recruiting class in the country but there are folks at twenty. Four seven are relentless. Put this class up against other competitors in the put this class up against their competitors among a group of five schools. And then tell me where would stack up or how would stack up to even some of the schools that we frequently talk about them. Trying to recruit among power five schools. Right you know first off forty second in the country. You might know that at that and think okay. That seems like a high number but you break it down. This is pop. G five recruiting class top class in the afc. You know an average of eighty five point one that is second behind what last year. The eighty five point three Just just the amount of average ratings throughout the entire class you know the groups that break higher than what auburn has brought in this year. What virginia tech has brought in what you know an iowa state who is magically better than the bearcats in the college football playoff hole which. I'm sure you've completely broke down but higher than in iowa state hires than a ucla arizona state tcu. So you know there was about twenty power five twenty to twenty five power. Five software says up bearcats actually had a higher national rank. Nance so you're looking at you. Know one of the best britain the best group of five but one of the better entire classes and the and the nation he look at next year. Obviously a really early start but this is a fantastic roof. And they're going to be you know like i said it's going to be a couple years down the line. You're gonna start calling out these players by name and say wow. This is a big time player from that twenty. Twenty one

"We talked about the right guard position. WHO's that? Left the -fensive end on what will be the greatest defensive line of all time. We have Alex okafor coming back. He commented on Arrowhead Pride. He said he's the one coming for that. Comeback Player of the year, but there's a candidate there and ten you. Tim Ward is interesting. TACO Charleston. HOW DOES BRILLANT SPEAKS FIT in there? What about Colin, Saunders they? I just think that there's a spot there. And, it's an edge spot, which is one of the more important spots and football. I know that there's a chance Chris Jones could be playing a little bit more edge this season. But that's about battle to watch to. You want to be the best defensive line of all time, who's going to be that fourth man on on what will be your defense? Right, and that is going to be a very interesting position. It's hard to even know who the presumed starter is at that other defensive end position, you can make an argument. That, it's okay for it might be passing on because he was the guy that stepped up at the end of the year and played well essentially as the starter at the position. But OKAFOR would in theory be returning from injury. So you can't even really Ride something in a hard black pencil there because both of them really kind of have acclaimed the starting spot and there's plenty of guys behind him who could challenge. Well. There you go. That wraps up all that we got for you guys today I. Do want to note this for you coming on Friday Jonah. IBM. "The chiefs fourteen said as we check on some of the halftime stats sports star was eight of thirteen for a hundred twenty eight yards and a touchdown while Len Dawson was eleven of fifteen for a hundred fifty two yards and a TD as well the Packers on the ground had fourteen carries for fifty one yards well the chiefs had twelve carries for thirty seven neither team had a turnover the staff were pretty close to the score was close to but all of that was about to change quickly for the start of the third quarter let's send you back to Los Angeles jacked reason Tom Hedrick with the call the number on the bill and putting out across the bill not the kickoff of the second half Green Bay late in the ballgame fourteen to ten Colin and Eugene Thomas are going back to receive the opening kickoff in the second half of the Kansas City Chiefs and Chandler cars will be doing the kicking off the Green Bay they've actually fall and we're just about ready to book his second half underway you Jean Thomas lane to the right part of the lab the case is a little one bounces on the fifteen months is almost dead whistles are blowing all across the field stopping play and the ball is being brought back for some reason or other to be kicked again well the reasonable was being kicked again was because of television remember we told you earlier the pregame show the game was being broadcast on to TV networks well while CBS was ready N. B. C. wasn't back from commercial break in time here the second half kickoff so the referee stopped play and instructed the players and Vince Lombardi to start over again once NBC was ready as you can imagine coach Lombardi was not pleased I should point out that both the C. B. S. N. B. C. radio networks we're back from break in time for that first kick off though anyway let's get back to the real second half kickoff of Super Bowl water as it aired on CBS radio once again Jack reason Tom Hedrick jamboree seems at Chandler backs away from the football once more and again the kick is a poor one but a high one and it comes down on a thirteen yard line the bird colonies up to the twenty five twenty eight the twenty nine yard line read my coming down on the K. making a tackle at that point so to be first in Denver the Kansas City Chiefs on their own twenty nine yard line the quarterback my god we can see will be starting in the backfield London is operating within the running back position Chris Burford is going out wide to the right side or left side of the state or is up to the right more ready for the first play from scrimmage of the second half of the Dawson rolling out to the right thirty five of the forty and then goes out of bounds with a forty four yard line he picked up by Lenny Dawson like he was planning to run that one virtually all the way he looked only for his primary receiver and then started to go and he took the ball for fifteen yards at the third time he's.

"The field where no one is around to touch it. He's just he's just not he's not going to be a franchise quarterback for anybody. I think ceiling is a high level. Backup where you can win. Football Games with them. And I think he's doing that. In Carolina I think he has outstanding poise for a guy who came out as an undrafted free agent He said himself that he expected to be starting in the NFL at some point and and which is not terribly surprised because he was the top rated high school quarterback in his year so Kyle on a not going to say he's great but he is a guy you can win with. And it's GONNA come down to Carolinas offense executing giving him good situations throw in because as we saw at at the end of the packers game when the ball when they had to give the ball Kyle Allen to throw the ball. He couldn't make it happen even like a good quarterback on the last play. The football game. You WanNa give him the ball. What did they do? They give it to Chris McCaffrey. That should tell you the whole story that I think that's a very good point. And you know to that end You were mentioning earlier. How teams build their rosters sort of win within the division? I don't think it's any a coincidence. That Atlanta has gone for faster. Linebacker guys like Dion Jones. Foyer Lucon Devante Campbell. Can all a fly and I think a big part of that is they need to be able to match up with guys like McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara. And that's you know clearly clearly sort of the competition. That's going to go on Sunday now whether or not you know how that plays out I think is going to be a huge factor in this game but with that said we've broken down both sides of the ball. It is time for our predictions Gino go the first. You've heard how it's played out. You've seen these two teams This was gonNA play on Sunday. Well I was in the locker room yesterday and Brian what I regret to inform you is that for the first time. The season the falcons were it was kind of the same vibe as two thousand sixteen like when they were just on a roll nobody gets stop. Unlike they're laughing they're having fun. Ricardo Allen is apologizing to me for being too loud and Rowdy one. I'm trying to everybody's having a great any time like they're just all obviously they're in high spirits coming off a win against the saints. But I think that that I think that that's momentum that they will carry into this week and also so this team knows that if things don't turn around substantially the Dan Quinn is going to get fired and I know that we all as are as Falcons fans have our opinions opinions about Dan cleanse fate and what it should be but I can tell you with great certainty of the players. Love Him and they do not want to be. And so I think that that's another elements of motivation for them. And so you know. I think that they're gonNA come out swinging and like Bryan said even years. On the Falcons are bad. They usually tend to steal one from the panthers. So you know it could be this one. I won't be surprised if it's not but you know I am GonNa go out on the women say yes. I think the Falcons win this week. I think it's probably a close game. I think it's probably somewhere in the realm of twenty seven twenty four and that maybe they went on Young way whose leg you know he certainly had a great game against the love to see him. Get a game winner and Carolina to sorry. Brian Brian you heard it. What is your feel for how this Games go? I have a funny feeling that the panthers are going to come out and have a game. Where Kyle Allen ends up losing the football game because the game script is out there at this point like the buccaneers? I did it once. The forty niners did it. The packers did it. They eliminated they limited Christian. McCaffrey just enough that the panthers offense couldn't keep up with the other team. So Oh it's not like this is an unknown thing but there's some game film out there to show people how to do it so I think we're Christian McCaffrey. Having a good game like let's say I don't know one hundred fifty scrimmage yards and two touchdowns but I think that that's like all we see from Carolina so I predict a twenty four to seventeen. Win by the Falcons. Well I'm also ask you guys know. Ah I think the wildcard here is going to be Great Jarrett. He had to have sex against drew brees on Sunday. He has his playing an all all pro level. Frankly he's one. The best defensive tackles in the League and he is I think he is second in the league in sacks from For Defensive Tackles that tells you what kind of your he is. Having I think the Interior for the panthers offensive line is going to have a day with Jarrett Going after him. But I I still not one hundred percent. Sold on the Falcons defense. I think they're going to play better. But I think McCaffrey free is going to have a day. And I think he's GonNa be the the difference maker here. I take your point that the falcons usually still went from the panthers even when they suck in two thousand fifteen but they usually in those seasons. They win that when at home. So I'm GonNa give the panthers the slight edge here. I'M GONNA say twenty one seventeen. The Panthers Win this one and move back into the playoff race with a six four record so Brian. Won't you tell our listeners where they can. I hate to interrupt that part just real quick. I forgot I never broke down the offensive line Situation Carolina. And what you just brought up made something I bring yes please do so. The panthers have been riding with They started out with trae Turner who or country Turner Trae. Excuse me Daryl Williams who was playing left tackle Michael for them. Who is a rat? A right tackle coming off major knee surgery. He was playing left tackle. He was awful. He gave up three sacks to Shaq Barrett Then they had greg little their second round pick he played one game had a concussion then they had their sixth round pick. Dennis daily who apparently is actually decent left tackle. He's injured this game. But Greg little is back from the concussion protocol. I think of all things to look at with the Dolphins Defensive Line. It's whoever is against Greg. Little coming off a concussion anyway. And obviously jared on Greg Van Paradis trae Turner. That will be big. I don't know how huge impact is going to have as far as sacking. The quarterback goes but I think she killed generate a lot of problems for the line of attack so anyway moving onto when I have going on so I am the the host the keep sounding podcasts for Carolina NC Sr.. I'm also the social media manager. The you'll often see me going back and forth with alcohol on twitter. Are we do that throughout the season usually have really fun time I will have a key. "Appreciate Luke fickle joining sake Denison today. And now we're going to transition in and bring in when I wanna talk high school and college football recruiting man, I turned to my my guy in Centerville, Ohio. Dave Burke day joins us right now. Dave, how are you this evening? Happy holidays to you, Abby holiday checks. Al. How's the trickster doing? We're hanging in there. Brother just tried to make the transition from print broadcast. It bring a little energy to the airwaves. I think you've already done that hard, right, man. Hey, great stuff there for a mob. You know, Luke fickle. Gosh that job at UC's. Don unbelievable. This this area for high school way athletes is huge and banned the recruiting wars are very very strong and difficult in this area. Dave. Yeah. It's always every year. You have a group of players that will come from this region that go on and have successful careers at the college level and some even go onto the NFL. You know, it's the beauty of living in southwest, Ohio. No matter what anyone wants to say. Well, we're talking high school football very competitive in this region. And you have some great high school coaches at toward thing. I tell people all the time. It could be a thing where you go some other areas in the country, maybe find more prospects. But you're not gonna find the prospects that are as well coached as the young men are from this region. Yeah, I ended up and really there's an early signing period. Now in what UC's Don. Dave kept their options. Open for the next go round here in February. It looks like. Yeah. And one of the things I want to stress the people right now is this early signing period only in its second year, and you have to be careful because not only are you looking at high school prospects. But now more than ever transfers are out there. And one of the biggest gets for the Bearcats was a transfer. When you look at James Hudson who's gonna come in from Michigan who originally was a teammate of Michael Warren's at central Catholic up in plead Ohio, and this is a young man who played defensive lineman. He school. He was projected by a lot of people. I always thought he was an alignment, and that's what he's going to be for the Bearcats. And he's gonna be a guy can we should expect to see play quite a bit. Once he gets eligible to play as far as his eligiblity in sitting out and so forth. Yes. And look at the job that Chuck Martin's, Dan, man, he went into coal rain and like cleaned house. You know, I I want to say one thing I think Chuck Martin may not be getting enough credit for this recruiting class. Because if you look at it, you mentioned Coleraine we bring in a Luke Bolden rusty fat. You bring in sincere Jones. And then you bring in Ivan page junior one of the more under the radar prospects who I think's to a football player. But when you look at overall this class, and look what they often to line. They really stockpiled off into Lyman. And I'm talking six foot five or bigger. We look at guys like Ben Jackson out of George Rogers Clark high school in Winchester, Kentucky, a six seven two hundred ninety pounds young man. And then you get into you know, even rusty at six fifteen who missed quite a bit of the season with an injury and came back for the state championship game shows, this type of work ethic. But when you bring in like four guys from a program like Coleraine that have played together and have won a lot that is going to bond very well in that locker room going forward. No doubt. And we've seen this strides. That the university Kentucky's made in this area. And man look at the job. Did you look at what's going on in Lexington? It's huge. Yeah. I mean, you can't coast dukes. And when you come into the recruiting in Ohio. Vince marrow is the main guy recruits for the Wildcats in this area. A lot of players when you start looking at that roster and you guys like Mike Edwards out a win woods who's know. Great graded Georgia SAFA J coat west either two guys who played big roles for the Wildcats and the success and of seem big George. I think playing on Sundays because I think he has the skill set to do that. How 'bout the win woods running back, man? Now what he's got another year of high school to go. But cod dude is just unbelievable. Yeah. I mean, you've got to the top backs in the mid west both in Cincinnati. When you look at mine Williams, win woods who has offers from several people including Michigan. And then John McCain who Fairfield who just got offered by Notre Dame. You got to backs there that are big time prospects, and you know, I I was asked recently which one I like, I really do like my in Williams. I love how hard he runs, but both are big producers as far as numbers and should have excellent careers. It'll be interesting to see because they still have football the play at the high school level. No doubt burqas with us. And Dave tell the fans out there how they can reach you. I know you've got your own consulting company now, but you've you've done all kinds of scouting throughout southwest, Ohio. And really throughout the midwest. Yeah, you could follow me on Twitter at Dave underscored bar B, E R K. You can also catch me a new website. We just lost recently called first star football report through the sponsorship of I start. And also, I have the consulting recruiting consulting business day Burke assaulting so stay very busy. But you know, it's the beauty of being in this region. I always appreciate having the chance to come on. No matter what Airways you are on the school, and college football, all that's awesome. Dave, we know what kind of closer urban Meyer was and a lot of people are asking me. You know what I think of Ryan day? I thought he did a great job filling in for urban. And I saw where a couple of guys flipped, you know, going against verbals to Ohio State how how did they do early on? And what do you think the future holds for Ryan day? I think it's going to be very bright. It's still the Ohio State University. You have a lot there to sell when you look at the recruiting class of what they did. I play you're gonna have to look at it as that care be out of own tangent, orange highschool who was many people had pencilled thinking he was going to go to Michigan, and he picked the buckeyes on signing day. So that was a huge yet. I also really like they got Mr. football. Sometimes I don't always say that. Because sometimes the winner of Mr. football is a, you know, a player just puts up great stats, but Kate Stober who a lot of people don't know about Mr. football is a six thousand four hundred twenty five pound linebacker who could also grow into being more of a defensive end rush guy election highschool up in Mansfield, Ohio. And then you look at they flip Tommy Eichenberger a linebacker always taught Cleveland Senate nations who was originally committed to Boston College who they came in on late. But overall, I think this is a very solid class. I know people doing. Team rankings may not have the Buckeye as a top five or even a top ten class. But when you look at the numbers, I really feel it is because if they get skewed sometimes because how many guys school sign the buckeyes had a small recruiting class as compared to some of the ones who got team rankings higher who signed in the twenty twenty five plus range of player. So it'll be interesting, but they're looking at going forward pairs Johnson has shown no signs out of Saint Xavier that he has any intentions of switching, and I'm sure he's going to be hearing from all the schools that were recruiting. And then you look at what's going on. And we talked about the talent in this region. You get easily say there's at least four to six players in Cincinnati alone. That can be considered the top players in the state, Ohio. When you look at Paris Saint Xavier who is going to have a great high school should finish out. Great now, I'd say next have a great college career have a chance to play on Sundays. Gary Henry out Princeton. He has a teammate Jean Thomas who is a a long long Frank six to eighteen outside backer DeAnne. And then you you start getting into no looking at the the two running backs that we talked about all ready. You have to sit there and say, okay. These guys are pretty good. And that's that's just scratching the surface of the talent in the two thousand twenty recruiting class. Well, this is some outstanding Stoff, Dave Burke. Hey, really appreciate your time. And once again, tell fans out there,.

"The I'm a big believer in drafting defenses really late last round Riva after that the main reason is because all based on touchdowns than defensive touchdowns are super fluky. And this is the time of year when teams have cut a defense because they went on a by or something happened. And it's a big believer can look in again who are they playing the next three or four weeks? You know, who is defense lineup against that. If you find that defense has some really good matchups that may got cut or maybe isn't the best defense because the end the day, you can take the the NFL's best defense in the NFL's like fifteenth best defense on any given week in fantasy the fifteenth. Best defense or twentieth is just as likely to score points for you. As that. I best defense 'cause based on interceptions than you. Typical interception. You get fluky touchdown like the two touchdowns Bengals had against the dolphins. I mean, you really can't account for that on any defensive metric or project that you can't project, you know, the Sam Hubbard Michael Johnson going to run in and get you twelve points in fantasy so would defeat defenses. That's a nice way to steal points kinda net. We are not hoarding Ross response and some people like they have to defenses because they like to to me as wasting roster spots. Kinda out. They call it defensive streaming re is gonna go week by week. Another thing if you're depending on the league one thing also look at doing if you are if you're starting quarterback has passed you're by if he's a good quarterback. You may not need to quarterback because some people are gonna keep two quarterbacks nor team in doing that. You're kind of wasting a roster spot and big believer. You can never have enough running backs because you never know who's going to get hurt. You never with the you look at the patriots. They lost the Rex Burkhead. They put Sony Michelle at their when else Michelle's hurt in alledged, the Ken John barter or James white is going to get more touches those guys may have been available if you weeks ago because you guys like birkhead in sunny Michelle were getting all the lead before birkhead got hurt in a but if you're using it roster spotter on second quarterback in a second defense. Will you missed out on the opportunity to come Scarpa scarf up? The scoop up those extra guys when you could. So a big believer hoarding hoarding running backs like that. Michael Douglas, one of them says greed is good when it comes running back greed is good. And. Yeah, kinda keep positions you need and look for opportunity. It's a lot of guys will make waiver picks chasing points from week or two ago because the guy gets backup tight end gets to fluky catches for touchdowns in the fourth quarter. And everyone goes and grabs him into. He hasn't scored touchdown harass the year. Instead, I attended chase the guy that okay? Who's the tight end that he got a bunch of looks in the baby in the red zone or the maybe seven or eight targets to through weeks in a row didn't work out. But you know, this guy is going to get his when it's all said done. Those are the guys I guess I'd said be more likely to grab so I guess it's more of a principal than a specific name. Yeah. I'll say this for me. Philip Lindsay was a good little week to week three waiver wire. He was the guy that was just floating out there in all of a sudden picked him up. The ship ahead. What I said fun there as they go as go into two week angel shake your head. Do they deviate? They get back to their winning ways this week, Scott. Yeah. I think I think Vegas actually has mother home. But I think the favourite to merge. Relic. I heard they were favorite how much, but I think most fans realize that you know, they had that three and one start. They they're a decent team. All the offensive line. Hasn't looked Troas like last year. The the team has sparked moments the games, obviously, Pittsburgh, they always struggled, Pittsburgh home. Kansas City a juggernaut right now in the Bengals just were not on their level. So outside those two games. The Bengals have done. Pretty well. Tampa Bay is not Kansas City. They're not super get home. So those are the two outliers. You look at the harass this season. Tampa Bay lines up with some of the teams like the dolphins in the colts near teams I've been playing this year in the falcons. And so I think it's a team that they. Shouldn't it's a game. They should win..

"He he really made up for a lot of that against the Cleveland Browns. Talking with Jean Thomas of buck, which heard podcast previewing leak eight against the Cincinnati Bengals as the buccaneers travel to Cincinnati this weekend. Take on a a game of two interesting in somewhat under the radar teams. We're we're going to get you out of here in just a few minutes here, gene. Appreciate the time jumping a real just real quick. There's a lot of similarities I mean injury-wise with with the Cincinnati Bengals. I is looking at some of the injuries that you guys have. I mean, Trayvon Henderson Tyler I for John Ross with a nagging groin injury. Just Giovanni Bernard. And you've got a lot of guys that when you started the season these guys that were key pieces in putting the Cincinnati Bengals in a position to to make that playoff run. And then you lose these guys, and it kinda changes how you do things. I realized that it's next man up. But again, these are guys that you kind of were. Expecting to come in and make plays in input this team in that position. When you look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I mean, you lose a a Vernon Hargreaves prison aren't in a guy that kindle Beckwith who had a huge season last year linebacker in. You know, he's lost with a with the injury or before the season started. Then you lose Jackson Chea linebacker, and then Quantel exander. So. And we don't even know of Joe McCoy is gonna be playing on Sunday. So a lot of injuries along that defensive side of the ball in guys that we really expected to to make plays you know, moving forward through the season. Yeah. And you know, you for the bangles on offense. You know? It's no coincidence. They were putting up quite a few points. I you know, three three weeks of the season three or four weeks of the season. Then they start losing tie the right for John Ross all these guys across their other tight end end and the points drop a bit. But I I like it you brought up Tyler ripe for it. Because that's where I'm going with my next question because a lot of fans a couple of years ago. Wanted to see the Bengals draft OJ Howard, not only as a potential. Hey, I forgets heard a lot I screaming he gets hurt a lot. But not only as a potential replacement type of guy if he gets hurt, but a guy that you can put both those guys out there. Nice safety blanket. However, have the buccaneers fans pretty pleased with what he's done so far for them. Oh, most definitely in the beginning. I can I can tell you for fact that it was split because Florida is a football. That's a football state is coming out of college that certain certain fan base members want I want this guy in when the bucks had a chance to pick him at number nineteen you you would have to be crazy not to take an OJ Howard at nineteen regardless of who you have at tight end. So getting him was it was a it was a blessing because I look at this guy he can block he physical. He takes up space in. He's learning how to use his body. Make catches. So I'm really looking forward to him. Yes. I mean phenomenal player, and you know, I think he needed. He was a polished player. But obviously needed a little bit of grooming, but good to see the he's making an impact for the buccaneers. And if you gene have watched anything about the Bengals defense. They're covering titans is not. Not one of their strong points. So you Howard may have a pretty solid day. Don't forward air. Your your thoughts on how this game plays out. Kind of you know, a couple of these defenses that have been letting up a lot of points. Like you said, though, Mark Duffner a guy who is pretty familiar with the Bengals Marvin Lewis and in company taking over now the defensive duties defensive coordinator duties, Tampa Bay travels spangles were at home at like you said a lot of similarities both between the teams in what they look like Andy injury front..

"Zarro can make that feel again. I'm I'm for I'm fine with it. I think he can it's all in his head. Kickers from kickers have it from the neck up. They can have all the physical tools in the world. But if they don't have it from the neck up. That's I don't know. That's that's kind of what what messes up and you saw he he he missed that extra point. And then you know, he missed a field goal. Any turns around and kicks the ball short of going through the end zone. But at the end of the game, they gave him a chance, you know, fifty nine yard kick in. He knows it. Talking with Jean Thomas of the book which heard Tampa Bay Buccaneers podcast. So glad to have you with us. I like you. I guess you mentioned you live in Arizona Jean now I live in southern California. So I saw a ton of Ronald Jones a time of Ronald Jones, and I absolutely loved the kid. I loved it. Loved him in college. The stats so far. I think he's maybe battled a couple little mix in whatnot. But you know, you look at his stats. Nothing truly jumps out at ya. You know, he's got the one touchdown. But that kid hit was explosive in college. He is he's got great speed. But he is kind of one cut guy. Your thoughts on him in his future with the buccaneers obviously Tampa Bay now has a lot of explosive playmakers at the skill positions. I think he can be one, but your thoughts on him and his future. Well, I like Ronald Jones, I think as he comes along on as the season progresses. You'll start to see more and more of him. I think they've been bringing him along. I think he's had issues with the playbook learning the playbook and putting himself on the field. You had another early in the season. You had another running back. Sean Wilson who was a special teams guy. And Ronald Jones is not a special teams guy, you know, in with you. As you know, they're not assigning those bills running backs to go out and block or in what's or anything like that. So he's learning a whole nother facet of the NFL any, and I think he's coming along very good. You know where he's able to catch passes out of the backfield. Which now is like a prerequisite for running back is you have to have some kind of hands. You know, coming out of the backfield for a lot of these offensive coordinators. So looking at Ronald Jones on unpaid feel like, you know, he's a rookie. Let's bring him along. Slowly, eventually, he will get to get out there and show what he can do when the time comes. Yeah. I mean, if there's one if you wanna do correlation or silver lining for Ronald Jones in his future. Giovanni Bernard a running back for the Bengals was a guy who's known as kind of you did some kick return to college. He did. He obviously ran the ball caught the ball. But he has been a very good blocker. He has become a very good locker in the NFL. So that is something that obviously Jones works on you know, that he could hone his craft. Big news for the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers is that they fired recently, Mike Smith, right? The defensive coordinator. I believe us the highest paid defensive coordinator in the NFL and. You know, obviously a big name a guy that was a head coach and led to the falcons to some success deserved. A little too quick to pull the rug out from under on your thoughts on him. And what what is going forward? I think I think it's Mark Duffner who's taken over an old Bank coat. You guys familiar with Mark Duff?.

"There was a comment or I can't remember who was on on a post today on cincy, jungled dot com. It might have been on one of the one of the things I put out I can't remember. But basically, he outlined the. Compensatory picks in who they grabbed and it was like, whoa. I mean, there's nobody there that has made an impact and not only that not only do they grab the compensatory picks. But they don't really maneuver. Now. Granted that's a new thing that you can maneuver with the compensatory, but they don't even really maneuver that much with with the picks that they have. So when you sit here my thing is in I put this in writing when you really focus on the draft. And you really bored. These pigs you number one need to basically hit on a higher percentage than most teams do because you're they're not doing much free agents outside free agency. So you need to hit on a higher percentage than most of these picks in you have to properly develop them, and then you have to keep them. So for for awhile, and including the past couple of years the Bengals have done. Okay. Keeping a lot of their guys. But there was that stretch in twenty sixteen twenty seventeen where they lost a core group of guys really set them back. So my thing is you gotta either you're gonna really still keep that draft. Centric mindset, you gotta either add a bunch of scouts and really do your due diligence on what you're doing in that respect and move around the beef, flexible move around to get the impact player that you want or you have to be a team that says, you know, what we do need that one or two upper tier? Tier two outside free agent. That's out there. Then kinda do the rental deals that we normally do and then supplement that with the draft process that we've done they can't they're putting all their eggs in one basket. And it's it keeps turning around inviting them these past three years, and I don't, you know, I don't. I don't see it was a, you know, a commenter on since juggle. I found the comment. These are basically every every compensatory pick. I think it's twenty eleven that they put out or in recent years. These are the guys read fray goal TJ Johnson marquees flowers, Lavelle westbrooks, Paul Dawson, Marcus Harbison, Ryan Glasgow JJ, Dieleman and Mason Shrek. Lot of quality is there. So. Any? That's that's what you're keeping these picks for I guess, meanwhile, Harrison's insured for a fifth round pick. Right, right. So I just I think that the Bengals need a shift of approach there along with. Of course, what you guys said. And I think mine is a bit more long-term process, and we'll take some major organizational changes in order for that to happen. Yours can be immediate fixes. Probably can't be ones that the Bengals can use going forward in this season. And maybe still saw that salvage Apostol playoff berth. This is the orange black insider bagels podcast Anthony presented. I'm joined by Scott Solti, finally, the past few months, we've missed him and my usual co host John Sheeran. We appreciate you tuning into this program where on I tunes were on YouTube Stitcher, Google play since he juggled dot com. All of our stuff is on art nineteen. We're going to now adjust our focus of it to week eight and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have Jean Thomas from one of the best podcasts names. I've I've heard a long time buck which you heard Jeanne before we kind of dive into this matchup, which is one that we don't see very often between the Bengals the buccaneers tell a little bit about yourself. How you got into the podcasting? And I I would assume you're kind of in the Tampa Bay area..

"Uh-huh. Well, it's been two weeks for the Cincinnati bangles. And they lost to heartbreaking games in two very different ways the past two weeks, and I don't I don't know. Exactly. What to say of what transpired on Sunday night? We built touch on that. Hello, everyone is the orange black outer bagels podcast. I'm Anthony ENZA joining you once again, and with me is co host, John, Sharon, John. I don't know what time you turn that game off on Sunday. But hopefully, hopefully didn't watch every single second that tobacco. It was. It was pretty ugly sucks being the editor. I gotta watch every painstaking with I'm with now. Yeah. It was bad. Yeah. I am. You know, the unfortunate thing is we thought it might we thought it would either be a shootout in a really fun game. Or maybe something we think it would be that bad. But maybe something resembling a five touchdown loss. I just you know, and you lose by five touchdowns right after you lose your bitter rivals at the last second. It's pretty tough. Joining us for the first time in. Two writers since the beginning of the season, Scott Solti sky a little while. Yeah. How are you, sir? I know it's been almost been a tale of two seasons since we've had you on started off foreign wine. And then all of a sudden these last two losses against his. We haven't had John for a little bit. Your thoughts on. What this Bengals team kind of started out as since we haven't had John, you know, two years prior pretty good start this year altered recently when he think yet the most people I think Vegas had him about five or six wins think most fans were kinda hoping eight or nine win. So starting foreign was obviously very exciting. But of course, are the as yet look who were they playing to get defined automated. It's not like they're applying the patriots the chiefs and obviously saw half minute play the chiefs. But yes, I think the foreign one was probably ahead of expectations may be people little extra excited then they came down to earth win in the Steelers a game. I think the played a lot of people they were right in that to the end of the chiefs game. It was a road game. Very good team. Yeah. Still that was so I think you at the end the day if you hadn't told the beginning of the year, they'd before in three at this point without getting anything from Billy price without getting John Ross. I think most fans would probably have said two months ago that's position. I'm okay. With a like that it's kind of puts you right there in the hunt for the division for a wildcard spot. You know, you're in the playoff hunt. You're right there. You're you haven't gotten contributions from some of the guys you wanted to get contributions from like birth in Smithfield. So I think that's a at the end the day. It's a nice spot overall minutes opposite. Not great. But yeah, I mean after seven games I think heading into the Tampa Bay game. It's a it's a it's a diesel spot to be in. Yes. And there's a lot a lot of that. We will talk about tonight. We're not going to really go through. We're not going to really go through either loss too much tonight. Because really we talked about the Steelers a lot last week. Then I'm not quite sure what you know, what we could really break down this week aside from just the Bengals getting utterly demolished. So we will talk too much about that. But more about what's ahead. What's the problem? What are the problems with the Cincinnati Bengals currently in in? What out you know, how they could fix them. We'll also be joined by Jean Thomas of. Pretty pretty funny podcast named buck which you heard podcast. He he runs a cool podcast there. And he will be joining us later in the program to preview we gate, but you know, there are so many things we could point to is to two issues all of that. But a little bit to Scott to Scott's point Bengals are still in the AFC north hunt. I mean, we we kinda feel like the sky is falling. All these injuries are coming out to Scott's point the Bengals are still in the AFC north race. But things need to change. So we'll start with you John what right now if you could pick one thing out of a hat because it would be a pretty full hat. What is the one thing?.
