"Like debating. Do i wanna say this. I read like lesbian romance novels. Like amazed crazy crazy. I emailed and okay. Like i probably read like a hundred of them but the thing that i find it annoying is like it or not annoying just kind of like like try or something is like if you focus like the story line all on how horrible it is coming out or something like that you know and i wanted to make this this. Caroline story the canon ball. Be like. yeah like this is a queer person but like who you know. It's not. I mean there's elements like romance. I suppose there doesn't work out. You know spoiler alert. Like i mean i but more about the book and like her emotional state which is obviously going to be influenced by her life. So it's hard to. I guess that's why i wanted to be like. How do i want to say this. Because it's definitely there. It's just you know i don't want to have the same sort of coming out is not what makes this queer. I mean i don't know. I'm not sure i l you. What square but your book. But it's like i like that there's nudity in the make sense and then this character Told me about this what you. Oh my god. Oh penn yeah Yeah that's like a. I guess i kind of put put her in there. To be like a like foil. I guess to caroline being like A lot more accepting of not accepting but like doesn't have that sort of self hatred like this huge ego thing and is much more like you know. This is like living her life in a way. That's a little healthier. I guess sure. I mean that's totally in there. I will also say just with that. You've drawn these characters like that. I took me a minute to register anything that was going on for that person. 'cause yeah maybe she has a shaved head but it's like a representation of hair. That's like the. I've never seen before In a graphic novel. And then i think also just like the clothes and also the these characters are not necessarily drawn as something that we could like. Place as a tr traditionally attractive in especially the comics world right lake. There's like jean grey. And then there's like these characters and so i just yet is also really important in something. That's really great about it. You know. I think it's it's i mean i don't know are you. Why those traces were i used. I used to drop my characters like really really ugly. Like i loved doing it. Gives them like these like crazy. Like actually says my. The first version of canon ball is published in a bias. And the way. I used to sort of draw the characters with Let's not distracting like like. They're like too weird looking like so. This is like a tone down version where vividly become or more symbols. Guess.

WandaVision Episode 7 Breakdown
"All right. I was excited about this because as we were texting i was literally going. I knew it. I knew it throughout the whole episode so very satisfying for me and you also knew it. And i can't wait for you to brag on that moment in just a minute but first this week the sitcom style was modern family meets the office and as a fan of both of those shows. I loved it. Wanda was very wanda's parts were were modern family and visions parts. Were the office. So it was like a weird. It seems like it would be weird. But i liked it. It worked for me. So we start with wanda dealing with the aftermath of the halloween episode her expanding the hacks her trying to say vision her dealing with a fake brother and her kids are like really worried about her. They come upstairs trying to figure out what's going on their game. Is glitch ing which shows that things are not completely under control anymore. They're game went from like a week controller to a believe. It was like a dreamcast controller. Who atari and then to just you know playing cards. The kids are like what is happening. Billy tells one that his head hurts. Now that's this is an important moment. Not only because every mutant on the planet. I'm pretty sure that has telepathic. Abilities has at one point in their origin stories. Said it's so noisy in here because they can hear everybody's thoughts until they learn to filter and really kind of controller powers. Jean grey charles exhibitor. They've all dealt with that Yes ashley stay out of my head. No because you won't stay out of mine so anyways that's important to hold onto because it's gonna come into play later. Now they do a whole office montage for the opening credits. And there's a quick shot of a it. Looks like one of those ransom notes where they've cut out a letter from a magazine or newspaper. It says i know what you were doing. Wanda who is that. We don't know. There's also a cute little amish to stanley in the license plate that says wanda and i just kinda hope like i know. We're obviously not getting any more cameras from him. But i would love to see something of his or something that reminds us of him to show up in each of these shows and movies going forward mice personal like i dunno to sense outside. Sword has mustard together and they are preparing for a massive attack on westview. Because once again told you so hayward's bad guy like a really bad guy. He's not even trying to be a good guy right at the recently. Not second he might have announced good enough so told you so. Vision wakes up and he's surrounded by the sword circuit and darcy is inside the circus as the escape artists. So when we last are choose being sucked into the heck's and she was wearing hand she was handcuffed to like the sword vehicle. Well now. She's escape artists but she can easily get out of it. She does not remember. Who vision is. She thinks he's trying to hit on her. She's like hard past dude. I'm like not into you like this is not going to be a thing. Envisions like dude. Don't you remember. We locked eyes. We had a moment you understood me. She's like no and just blocks away from him The boys are wondering where their dad is and wanda says. She can't force him to do anything. So it's again i think. She is finally accepted the fact visions outside of her control

"That would be cool. I think that that would be so interesting. Because i have seen jimmy chan dues not that role right like kind of nothing like that a little bit but it might be really nice to see her do that. I feel like even. I would watch like another phoenix movie. If john was the actor because that would be fun right lake watching her. Just kind of be able to run. The gamut of jingles personalities would be really really fun in a way that it hasn't been a so no shade but it has been. Yeah jim this is such a powerhouse actor he is. I think that that would be really interesting. She commands subtlety. You know she. She has the ability to convey extremely intense emotions. I remember in crazy. Rich asians like you know the moment win. Her heart is breaking. And she's like communicating with the edges of her is. Like what are you doing. How are you this. Good of an actor and that feels like very jin greater me. That's kind of my point is like it would be interesting. Because i feel like the natural inclination for so many actors as to overplay like the transformation into next i mean that's what the directors are asking them to do as well to be fair like producers. Everybody really wants hysterical. Jean grey but like seeing an actor like jimmy chan take it on. I think would be so so interesting. So like if you were going gonna do a phoenix story. Or even like beginnings of phoenix story or something like that. The beginnings of the dark phoenix like emma. Engine actually do fight with each other and stuff. I would love to see jim in that role like that. Specific era of jean grey. I think that she would do a really really good with. I totally agree yeah. It's kind of like getting to talk about different. Actors is exactly that getting to talk about like what kind of gene would they be and like what period for life would that be like an accurate. One what would it be like. Maybe maybe not quite right right when she was like showing up to the hellfire club in that actress and leg. All of that should going down. I feel like i'm just like oh my god that would be rad to see jemma chandu. Yes yes. I can't say no to almost anybody and i don't have negative things to say about people for the most part so you can only be like. Oh that could be interesting because you know or something like that because even when people are like. Oh my god. This actor was so terrible in that role. mo is just like they made it their own. I live out about you. You don't like to say mean things about anybody especially not women ever really require people. Avoid it sometimes. You have to yell at a gay dude forget her. Is things happen okay. So what about jamie clayton. I think of all the actors sense being so incredible. You know so. She's good at like the weird acting rate like this and so beautiful so she's like beautiful. Jean where you're just like. Oh my god thank you like the gene beautiful and everybody has a crush on her. That's gene yea. I think she would be good. I think that she was really good at playing kind of low key kind of like tragic figures so she might be really good at upping the tragedy of gene which is like sometimes they focus too much on it but i think that she could make be interesting. Well everybody i've got. And i think if you add amy adams that.

"Yeah they know they know. It's your faith you know. Then what happens. He goes underground. Wisey underground is. I think he's like chasing after her right. Yes yes like. I washes many times. There's kind of a break right. He's like dang as you're more dang and then he goes and finds her by her. Doesn't she do the snowstorm thing again. She yeah she doesn't like three or four times she has and they're so cool. They look the animations really cool for them like and we've seen the flashbacks with her too so in the flashbacks. She's a she's currently has a photo that has her. Dad ripped entirely out of the photo. her mom was sick and her dad appeared to be an ominous presence in her life and Child protective services came to take her and she dropped. The christmas ornament gave her before she passed away and then ran away from child protective services as many children do. And yeah. She's in terrible position and virgil has to kind of own up to the fact that maybe could reach out a little bit more. Yeah because like there's a while where they're like ships passing in the night and he finds her photo in her layer rise. Just like so cute. It's like an ice room where she's made herself a beautiful like four post bed and she made a frame for her photo and it's clear she actually has a really amazing command of her powers right. Which like that's one of the themes of new people with powers particularly many humans. They can't control it. She doesn't freeze the people right whenever there in the mall like she freezes the mall. Not anything that's you know. She almost accidentally causes a tree to fall on. Somebody by her command of her powers isn't really what caused that. It was more like her disorientation. Right which is like an interesting juxtaposition. She's out of control because her powers are making out of control which is a very common theme with characters who are women in comics and have powers right. How many times have we seen a woman defeated by her own power. Show just out control. This is not that it is great. Wonder woman who even knows all of them pretty much. Everyone check check check. Jean grey like ninety times trips over. Nick stitching core that one episode. Where i think mojo the mozell versa. Whatever how does it tell us. Happy trip over in extension core wild running away giggle. Giggle hair flip What i wish is just that like if they were going to commit. You know it's like the same with like invisible woman in the silver age whenever she would just get distracted and go do other stuff for a minute. I just wish that if they were going to write empower jean grey and empowered sue storm that they would just like call back to that sometimes and be like. Yeah jean grey is really kind. She's nice to everybody. There's all of this power behind her. But also sometimes she trips over the really. There's a way to do it. That is like she has flaws. You know lake women can't handle power but so much of it reads as until with permafrost. It's like we're introduced to her as a meta human who cannot handle her powers but then it's troubled as the story unfolds. And we're like oh my gosh. An amazing command look at like the intricacies of this lake picture frame. She created you. Know and then static. Shock takes the picture. Because he's like i got to figure out who she is which is like do. Don't take an un housed persons one piece of property to that then again. He didn't have a cell phone his pocket for good so it. He apologizes and he gives it back to her when she confronts him. I love how that confrontation goes down. Same she's like freaking out and she's using her powers and it's like so cool wrote and virgils no my bad. I'm so sorry. Let me give us back to you like we don't have to do this. And i just love the he leaves with empathy. Yes the One hundred percent. Yeah yeah i love how. Whenever she goes nobody cares and he's like pulling himself out of like a snowbank and he's like i care okay. I'm climbing out of us. Know bank right now. Cry such a cute moment. It really is. I thought it was really sweet. I definitely cried during this episode watching it every time i especially when i lost munsu and they had out that they have that connection and see her often. You know you just see her face soon. What happens when you actually talk to people like to treat someone like there might be a reason. They're frigging the fuck out. There's a reason she's freaking the fuck out. It's because he's triggered oliver trauma. He's in one photo of her mom. She has her one possession. Yeah in her shoes. I would also cause a crazy blizzard. Because i would be flipping shit. And he's like yes reasonable. Yeah when you're like hungry and cold and everybody is just walking past you with armfuls of light gifts and stuff like that. Yeah one can only imagine the emotional duress too much. They just have the sweet resolution the two of them. You're absolutely right. The end of the episode is very much like no. It has like an after school special field but it's genuine. So it's not preachy. And it's not weird but it's almost like when they look at the camera that i i don't know we'll she and like that's like part of what i think is so powerful about this as it is a call to action. I don't know how you could watch this episode and not either change your beliefs around people who experience homelessness or get involved or double down or whatever but there's just so much real human emotion and empathy and vulnerability on display in. This episode is just like yes. Fuck yes this is what we should be doing with with superheroes animated series when we talk about homelessness. And we talk about any of the the ways. People are actively disenfranchised by our society. You know and it's just like my heart's all warm and i was telling step before we started recording. I was like. I was expecting to giggle and make fun of it and instead i love it. It's amazing. I think i'll watch it every year. See i love. How like the last couple times been on here suggested so far removed from in my usual. I wanna you know laughing Question make jokes and stuff like that. It's been like released. And i'm like i feel like i'm falling right into the trope of comedians. Where is like no no no but those are the most serious people in. That's why they're able to humor. But yet like i. This episode is so it's master. Storytelling me i'll yes. I think a lot of way. Flaming dave as a lot of massive storytelling in. I just wish that he were still alive for many reasons. But his you imagine an nc new movie or even a dc movie live action where he wrote it in like. You actually have syria superheroes having on these these types of moments on the screen. Yeah now i'm just so sad. I know i'm sorry So so steph. You'll have to do it. I will have to do it. I'll have. I'm sorry that torch you've been called. He's influence a lot of just how i view By this jamrah in mike these characters in why get so mad sometimes size where you know kinda like reduced down to a be. An extension of the military complex was like. It's.

"He served no purpose in this movie. I mean, yeah he was pissed off at Jean Grey for for killing Raven. But besides that, there is no logical reason why he is in this those are a couple of points. And then you have characters that people actually enjoy. That they have spent a little time with like quicksilver. WHO's in days of future past he was an x men apocalypse has. By far the best scenes and both of those movies. And he's in the movie for coffee. And.

You know the actual rain, and the spirit of guy who herself who powers him basically making. Wolverine actually a child of an elder God is GonNa be important in that story if they follow continuity the way that they almost never do because. That was in not Hickman's run with the cabinet. "Positive We're GONNA. Do something we are in the in. By. You, know I. Don't like how iceman became gay. I. Think it was very very poorly because i. was outed by Jean Grey twice. Let. You. Don't get to tell somebody else their gay. It was near an uncomfortable for me, so you know but sure I guess. You're trying this. Yeah, and then Inter textual a on that the idea, then we can tie that story of him coming out back to the fact that in the original story. He's the one person the didn't hit on Jean. Grey because obviously, he wasn't interested for that reason not because he was far too young. We just. The context is hard. Everybody knows the point is relying where in defenders. He has a relationship with wild with a non binary. That be male and female and he doesn't know that. He has a relationship with her while she emailed when she turns. Mail is very clean. Way Out. North because it's much more convenient to make him having always been day so I think at this point I kind of want to. Heaven. A little bit in that we have spent the better part of. One entire episode and half of another episode talking about. X. Men as text conceptually in these big umbrella terms. We haven't actually talked about. Any X men stories at all. We've been talking about the series in about the franchise, but not about the stories so much and I think that there are several points at which the X. men as taxed. Does some really super interesting things narrative? That may be of interest I I will say before we go into this part that up until now, if you're not an X. men comic book reader I. Think You probably still been able to follow along pretty. Yeah, I think if we start getting into specific story lines I see this as a message to our listeners, but realistically I'm saying this as a message to our two guests. We may we may need to do some prep work going into some of these storylines to let our readers come along with us on a little, a little narrative Jeremy a little. Are you telling me that everybody knows what Alpha flight is? Is that what you're trying to tell me? Like, you know mouth brings up the NORTHSTAR wedding and I'm like. Yeah, that's really really super interesting. You have to be X. men reader to know what that like. started popular I didn't. Get Light. So right, right? We have all the way back to nineteen sixty three to play really. But if you're not an X., men reader, dear listener, you should understand that the x men comic books really happen in five very distinct eras. It's like the dinosaurs and the Paleozoic in the Mesozoic in the Jurassic and triassic..

I'm like reading between the lines and thinking all Larry how many of these stories are lifted right from your life for friends of your lives well you know it's somewhere between thirty and ninety nine percent okay are you set up and I mean it's got to be a weird because this book came out like at the end of February and we know for us in for authors I mean the publishers it's difficult to get barks one is setting up interviews it makes us feel bad for all the writers out there yeah you know I I I was lucky I was in New York in mid February so I have you know I was able to do sort of a mini book towards before any of that happen and then I I come back home to LA and boom yeah the world walked out so of my book party in LA was February eleventh I think that the last time anyone ever saw anyone else in LA I had wine okay Sir do give people the set up of been there merry dad because it's just a read it AS thank you thank you well okay it's about it's a funny take on a very ruthless Hollywood divorce it's basically like war of the roses but in Broadway you know it's not a Hollywood writers find yourself locked out of world home and having to navigate the high stakes divorce with her OCD producer husband and her jailbird sister shows up her daughter is preaching definitely hate there and she's going to Pat Perry menopause we all know what that is and it's just sort of hormones and divorce a mix the two which is my favorite thing do you think I mean visit Julian I add this theory that some time and that there are an awful lot of divorces that happened for hormonal reasons both men and women actually yes I actually believe that you know and if they usually happen around the same time like the ages of forty to fifty we are going through huge changes and our man and I sometimes I figure you know everybody would just take a peek and maybe maybe help isolate with check you needed years to do it yeah I mean because my mind still make time in my late forties I was just like I couldn't stand myself yeah well yeah it's a wrap it's really rough period of time I about I would kind of comp rhet comforted by the fact that like the animal I mean we're just part of nature you know this is like you either go through menopause or you're dead yeah she you have a choice and you know I'm thankful that I can write about it yeah hopefully be funny about money and they the thing is you use that too and you do and you get that I mean that with the husband but guys go through their version I know because it's just not as publicized you're given a name but yeah they they go crazy too and they often look towards another person to or fill their hormone but yeah well that never happened in Hollywood yeah everybody stayed married yeah how did better than everybody else course you of course you are so have you been having a lot of fun I mean whatever I mean the book is really just fine it's a fun read thank you it's crazy only just relatable at same time all my gosh I need you to do all the work that's been well I'm having a great time you know I had a great time on the miniature book tort breach of talking to so many people and I'm not the age I'm fifty seven I think also there's one. Yeah, that's nothing. Ironically, we're actually I have watched Mojo playing in the background and Leo. Turned around real quick. Ghostbusters is currently playing in the background. So, so, yeah, we're gonna look we're gonna dive into. We're going to do a back toback real back on Ghostbusters. Go to and then the following week we're going to be doing Batman, nineteen nine which this movie is all tied, the most important comp movie in his in history has ever told you that you think it's was like marketability. I think you gave me like the numbers of it to, like, I come I'm coming hard facts, 'cause I don't like people saying that superman is. What role ride, do you disagree with me? No, I'm laughing, I, I was laughing at. Powell? I mean, I think they both, I think what superman did, and we're Batman. They are both very important because it brought it to the public eye now, superman made you, you know, at that time made you believe a man can fly, you know, it was one of the most special effects Eve's movies at the time. I pretty sure it just made that word up. And then Batman like we've always said, you know, we're gonna talk about them. But the advertising alone you know. And just the casting the news coverage everything, you know, they both did their thing. I love them both, but can't wait to watch them. Yeah. Same here I am looking forward to that. And then we round round up June with the our top ten of the year so far, which is Campbell the years half over. I know. And then I really fucking busy now with the Oscar season. So I just by the way before we go. I, I've trying to see what our outlive, Hollywood reporter actually released yesterday. Who can play the X men now the really and either all fucking terrible. But. Bruce was. Scoot mcnairy a cyclops. Who who scoot mcnairy? You don't know that is I suck, you know, me, I suck with names. Hold on. Kelly Reilly as Jean grey. Colin Hanks has beast, Colin Hanks Jonathan Groff as Ice, Man. Michael, all I liked us a Michael Elliot's angel. I think you're seeing what you're seeing with the original original X, men, and the new recruits, they have I actually don't know this Tian Paris. A storm. Foamy Niki Abu. As armor, Joe curious, multiple manned Olivia Cooke as all. Yes, this is, I'm on this on a Livia cook as kitty Pryde, you know, alleviate cook is yeah. Mm absolutely in on that. Or because she gene. Minus the red hair, of course you your hair red. And then we have evil in. Goria callisto. All right. You're going crazy now. Yeah. Adri. Oh, this one. I Adrian Brodie has night, crawler. Travis. What's nightcrawlers do we like better in the already set? One them both evenly. They both do they're, they're not harmful. They do job. I, I liked that. They kept a consistent because like when we first night crawler in a White House, too, right? Yeah. I remember the first like scenes of, of, of, of makeup with all the tattoos on it. Yeah. So in the comics, he's opposed to have for that's supposed to have is supposed to be a little more like beast. And I was a little hesitant to house gonna look, but they made it looks just so bad. Ask the whole circus gypsy affect to it, too. And then when the same for young night, crawler, I was like, okay, cool. That's cool. See not all heat here. Travis for Mel as sabertooth and then for the outliers Zahn MacLaurin for four don't know who that is Jonathan rise Myers as mister sinister. Oh, oh, I'm looking, I'm looking at the article now and I like it. I like the Wyatt Russell as wolverine. I think we'll Verena is the most important one that has to be a name that has to be a no-name ever act. Yes. I roll is going to. Heavies good. He's gonna explode. But yeah, that's pretty much wraps it up for this week guys. Thanks for being on as usual until next week. Or we start busting ghosts. And as Parker junior, we says busted makes us feel good. Thanks for listening. You can find our show notes. More at real talking dot com..
"jean grey" Discussed on Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men
"But why would marvel girl be more powerful than Jean grey comments? I am not following the worth the same amount. But Jean grey is a proper noun so automatically disqualified. What difference would that make an fight a fight? Oh, I was going by point value by, like power level in scramble. What? And I'm milestone, folks, and we are here to explain the X men, because it's about time. Someone did welcome to episode two hundred fifty one of j two miles explained the accident where we walk you through the ins the outs and the cons of comics greatest. Superhero soap opera if this show goes for one thousand episodes were about due for a quarter life crisis. I mean, I'm I've already decided that I'm going to be spending mine on scrapple entirely reasonable, so yes. Speaking of that, cold open. Okay, Jay, I like your cold opens. But that one was, I don't know specials the right word. So there is actually context for which we're gonna get to later on in this episode. Or at least what got me thinking about this. But I can tell you how I did the math and also admit that I watched it a little bit specifically and let marvel girl count as one word even though it's too common nouns that probably couldn't be played in the same turn. I mean it could just be a compound word like you know, boy, toy. Yeah. So the deal is I went through all the X men who had common noun codenames, and I'm counting, gene. The name Jean grey as a proper noun because it is her name in this context, and I calculated up rabble point values added them altogether. There are two notable exception. Cilacap is disqualified, because Cilacap isn't actually a word and obviously Ingraham now here's a great detail though. If Jean grey were not disqualified, the point value for her legal name would be the same as the point value for Phoenix. That's kind of medically beautiful, isn't it? Wow. But yeah. If she's not Phoenix, and depending on whether marvel girl gets used or not blue team really solidly winds at the point totals based on the names. They're using at the time of the issues. We're looking at here are seventy one to fifty five while I mean, I guess, to the blue team's credit colossus has gone by this point from the gold team. So there's that, oh I include colossus. Okay. Well, let's just say like a little bit before fatal attractions, then. Yeah. Including, including colossus, if you take him out than than blue team, pretty much wins, no matter what because the widest margin by which team can wins, three points fiendish. I feel like we should get five thirty eight on this whole thing. I don't know now I should add that I'm also ignoring board. Layout, issues possible intersections. Plus the fact that some of these names are probably not actually going to be spelled out during a scrabble game, but I do feel like I've stumbled across a really really good system for quantifying superheroes. And I put it through the usual test. I put. Who would win in a fight gimmicks through and it passed. So which is the one Roman beat superman. Beats Batman will anyway, we're not here to just talk about scrabble. Although, like you said Jay that will come up again, we're here to talk about X men and scrapple. We've been talking about X men now. We are, we are back onto, I believe X men blue this issue that is just straight up. X men, not uncanny. Exactly. Although by this point is arguable whether the blue team in the gold team even exist as such but we are indeed. Following adjective? Liz X men written by fehb indices, with mostly previously blue team characters. So let's go ahead and see what happened previously unexplained. Everything is terrible right after an almost comically excessive series of family tragedies. Colossus defected to magnets, acolytes, after which magneto rip the medal out of Wilbur in skeleton and exhibitor. The mind out of making does brain. Meanwhile, everyone's favorite blade covered whiny super villain. Strife may be dead. But he's left behind his legacy virus. A mutant targeting aids allegory. That's already killed a number of B-list heroes and villains. An infected even more including silence..
Jessica Chastain's 'Dark Phoenix' character explained
"Yeah. The whole dark Phoenix is an extended x men storyline in the marvel comics universe at centers around Jean grey, a female superhero with special powers, and this is called dark, Phoenix. Okay. And so this one is set in nineteen ninety two and mutants, Jennifer, Lawrence Alexander ship, and nNcholas, hold among others have been sent to space to rescue members aboard a damaged shuttle. And while there, gene played by game of thrones. Sophie Turner absorbs a cosmic force. It takes over a body and greatly enhances your superpowers, and so now the mutants include Michael bender wonder if saving gene is worth risking. All of mankind also in the mix is a villainous alien played by Sacramento's Jessica Chastain. She wants to control gene for her own reasons. But despite some of the choice actors the biggest problems is the story is cold and humorless. And it's supposed to be the final entry in the series. And I can't imagine it would end so weekly should have had a little bit more razzle dazzle. So it's just okay. I'm giving it to out of

"Turner, something's happening to me. This controlled sees. Feels could. Okay, this is where ladies lawns start of winter fell aka Queen of the north really breaks bad. Yes, this is the rise of dark Sansa. It's, you know, it's funny because this is a from director, Simon, who has written extensively on the x men films. Also Star Wars, and produced extensively on X men in this is the first time he's directing, and he doesn't appear to be entirely up to task and I will say this the last film apocalypse was a wild mess. And, and this one sadly was not enough of a train wreck. It was Rory lighters, trainwreck. There is a train wreck but it's really really inert. It's, it's quite safe too safe. It has not. And that's a specially sad given that this is likely the last in this nation of the franchise, right? This is good ended all this will end at all because Disney's purchase FOX, and they will absolutely do what they want moral studios will now take over Kevin Feige will now. Have the task of reintroducing? The X men with the marvel cinematic characters that we've known from marvel studios, but the big tragedy about this for me is that dark Phoenix storyline that comic fans have wanted to see adapted for a very long time. It was done not well, in the third X men film last end and it was done not well again here, and I think the very, very sad, part of that is that Sophie Turner's. Character. Jean grey? She, she is completely without agency for the bulk of this foam. And it's really, really sad. Yeah. I mean, here there was a chance to treat the female leads with respect and to, you know, this is a pure attempt to pass the back delta, right and empower them. But you're saying it is point less, and then you have someone like Jessica Chastain and you utterly waste her as well as highly arch one-dimensional, not even two dimensional villain. And it that's actually I think I could handle it being a going out with. A poof rather than a bang the ax men. But that's the piece of this, that I think, makes me a little bit mad because Jean grey deserve better than that. At characters complex. You said it's just completely tired and underwhelming and listen. I'm sorry to be a stickler for facts. But in the opening scene, right? Yeah, they take the time to say nineteen seventy five seen Jean grey, as a young girl in the backseat of her payments car. So if they take the time to tell us it's nineteen seventy five and she's sitting in the backseat of the car parents, and they're driving an old Glen Campbell songs playing on the radio. Jean grey uses her mind to change the station, and then we hear where will London and then the mom changes it back. And I know yes, not. I'm sorry. Warren's Yvonne song did not come out till nineteen seventy eight and it's just like, how hard would that back was the, the least of it's also I guess, Jean grey, also has the power with her mind to predict top forty hits three years into the future. Well, that's what she thinks been the b plot of this movie and what they went with. And it's just frankly, it's poorly directed action, which is surprising and in shot the finale, and they re shot the finale, because when you have things like, superheroes, I happen to really enjoy, John. John. Disappointed in this one. But if you're not directing them, well, it looks. So even the reshot finale is not satisfying. My strong guests is that marvel came in, and perhaps it was a little bit more of a mess away PA apocalypse was, and they made it more coherent. But also, that is my guess, and I could be wrong, but it's very very, very safe. And I wish if anything they had just gone, full throttle, and just kill them all, which may be they do knowing that, this is the last of it. You know. Okay. Well, I hesitate to ask this sounds like I can't imagine who would go after listening to this these comments. But if you haven't gone to the X men movies, will you even understand what's going on in this film? I don't think so. I don't think you'll care. I don't even think it's that you won't understand. I think marvel studios, probably has a little bit more of that problem, where if you tried to go into C and game. It would be incredibly confusing. If you weren't up to speed, but, but this film, more has the problem that even if you do know you just don't care about these characters because they're not behaving themselves. They are completely and utterly driven by the plot needs and change magneto in this film, makes absolutely no sense. And magneto is one of the most interesting of the x men characters. And because they knew it was the last one, don't you agree? They crowbar everybody in. Yes, almost like one of those varieties storm remember store, nightcrawlers anniversary. Yes. Well, a weekend to maybe do some laundry wash your hair. Celebrate national doughnut Francisco. And now the one good. We'll so much because this is this is great talking to you. You're welcome. Thank you, Mark Jordan, Lena's, TV, writer, and film, historian and.

"You've been joining us for the hour. Thank you for being with is. We play a little fast and loose to get to the weekend. Now is there anything I need to see him theaters this weekend. I don't think you need to race out to see new releases this weekend. I'll talk about so new in theaters. This weekend is the secret life of pets, too, which I have not seen. Oh and that. Yeah, I heard from Donny that he gave it to and a half out of four. Okay. He said it was funny. But, like that's not a glowing recommendation. No would not. And then dark Phoenix is now in theaters. And I did see that. So this is the latest in X men franchise, and it picks up the characters from the first class trilogy, if you will. Okay. Sophie Turner, as a mutant, gene grey, she her power shift telekinesis, until apathy, that's kind of an origin story for her and how she went from a young girl mutants to then kind of joining the dark side. And then Jessica Chastain place a villain. You also have Jennifer Lawrence back. Michael fastener Dame's McEvoy nNcholas Holt, tye Sheridan. Great cast, okay. So I was bored. I was gonna tell unnecessary. I heard what, what was the adjective? I feel like the active I heard about this was on characteristically uninteresting or something just. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, the, the axeman characters are so great with their powers. And if you think about the original trilogy that came out like a decade ago. The bachelor between them the chemistry like you, those movies are great. And I think this one was either made with really small budget or some schedule. Issues or something just off about it. It looks kind of cheap at times truth actors, or just there because of a contract. I think why, why do you think it was such a buzzard I think it was shot a couple years ago? And then they had to re I heard they reshot the ending due to it being too similar to a different marvel movie. And I think because of that maybe people couldn't come back for a degree shift things around Sophie Turner plays, Jean grey, the dark Phoenix, if you will. And I don't think that she is that great at this role, I think she's a little, she underplays it, her dichotomy of where she goes smoothly, just isn't that good night. Think that writing is bland. I mean you can hear the actors fighting with bad dialogue. Yeah. So I would skip it. I mean, these are too good in this just doesn't live up to what you want from an X men movie. How many movies are there? This would be number seven. Okay. There was the original trilogy with Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. We remember. And then this is kind of like the next one with this Castell. So it just feels like why would you start this all over again with this product like, maybe they were just like, well, here's another one of the, like, I, I know that Jean grey characters really great. And this don't descrip- okay. Two out of five. I will do that. Here's something you don't wanna skip. Yes, please come out for this everyone. So tell us about this event. So if for those of you that are just joining us, and maybe having heard the promos that are running Paulin I or putting on the vent in a week, along with try LAN, and they're really the ones that have kind of made this possible. Yes. The trial end cinema in south Minneapolis thirty seventh mini next weekend June fourteenth through the sixteenth, so in honor of pride in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the stonewall riots, which was this huge momentous occasion for the movement and gay rights. They're gonna be hosting two different movies, the boys in the band from nineteen seventy and then the celluloid closet, which is a documentary all about gay representation gay characters. Start film. History. So this event, and there's going to be a number of showings. We'll give the details in just a moment. So. Okay. And you and I talked about this because one of my favorite things of all times. There's a book, I actually like let's go way back, one hundred years ago when I was in high school. No college. I was in college, and we read a book called the cell, did you bring it on look at you. The celluloid closeted, sort of a seminal piece on the history, Vito Russo homosexuality in the movies, and it sort of gives like it goes all the way back to silent films. Like you wouldn't believe there's some gay references in silent films. What and it's just such a meaningful thing to see, you know, people that look and sound and act or share a community like yours on the big screen. That's a big deal. And if if, if you don't have the experience in being in a community that's not regularly seen on the big screen. It's hard to understand how meaningful that can be. So, like, when I was a kid in the first time you'd see Harvey Firestone in torch song, trilogy, or somebody in a in a gay role that looked or sounded maybe like you. That's a huge deal. So this, this book really takes that history. And then they did a documentary that sort of brings that all to the big screen and just, you know, covers you with all of the deliciousness of Hollywood and. How we we get characters really went from tropes, you know, the pansy the sec- to then being always the victim being the ones that were killed off. You know, being the vengeful person. So how characters change, and then we get to and really how either actors or directors imply that characters with were gay without really being able to share that. Code system. They had to be very careful about how they represented gay, lesbian characters, and it's fascinating like when you watch the documentary, this Lloyd closet, just how many movies that you'll recognize and be like, oh, there's a bunch of like celebrity cameos in there. Delightful, little interviews and bits. Yes. And then, then we get to nineteen seventy the boys in the band, which is the other movie that showing next weekend and how it's based on a play and how these seven men are fully-fledged gay man in a movie..

"Movie as you say, in, perhaps, the last of them with these particular characters in them until the inevitable reboot. Of course, this is a film centering on the character of Jean grey. It's based on a much beloved dark Phoenix a comic book series from the late seventies early eighties in the comic magazine, and Jean grey is played by Sophie Turner. She is the Tele Connectik telepathic X person, you might say also very psychologically, fragile because she carries a lot of guilt. She thinks she caused the death of her parents and in a mission to space to save the space shuttle. She is imbued with extraordinary power from some sort of mysterious space, cloud, and that joins together with the revelation of. Some truths from her past. She hadn't been aware of, to turn her into a really powerful and imposing and potentially destructive character that the other X men have to try to rein back in and simultaneously. She's also being pursued by a villain from space who wants to extract that power from her, and it all turns into a big free for all as you can. Well, imagine lots of special effects, lots of battles, lots of confrontations, and a final culminating battle on a train really that finally brings an end to the whole x-men saga. At least as I say, for the moment, this is a picture that I think doesn't quite do it in terms of giving fans a satisfactory, ending to a series of they've been watching for almost twenty years, the last X men movie apocalypse was big. And, and kind of silly. But at least it had a certain brand your to it, this one really doesn't it seems kind of Wimpy by comparison to all the other superhero movies around. I think most x-men men fans will be more disappointed than not with this fixture. Unfortunately, and unfortunately, Sophie Turner of who is the real star of the picture is a very bland, actress of apparently, she was on game of thrones or something one of those shows and gained some notoriety from that, but she doesn't prove a very effective big screen actress. So I, I would have to say that this is one of the blander superhero movies out there this year. All right, next step is an animated film, the secret life of pets.
Phoenix, Disney And Jean Grey discussed on Chuck and Kelly
"Dark Phoenix. This is the latest X men movie and also kind of it's not the last one you're going to see these characters again. But it's the last one that was done outside of the realm of Disney. Of course, Disney now own spot, and they're going to be doing the X men series and doing what they want to with it. So this sort of wraps things up and into repenting of the dark Phoenix saga from comics where you've got Jean grey having these powers, and if she's going to go off the rails evil or she's going to be a good force to. I it's, it's not bad. I mean, I never read the original Phoenix, our Phoenix saga. So I wasn't all upset when they bought it in X men, the last stand, which was the third one of it is neat that they're sort of redoing it for the fan's perspective on the here in it's getting some mixed result. He'll it's a fine X movie action and characters. I excited it's just not as doesn't feel as difficult as some of the other superhero movies or even as, as good as the other ones that they've had with, with
Phoenix, James Mcevoy And Captain Marvel discussed on Collider Movie Talk
"This first story is about dark Phoenix. And last summer, we learned the dark Phoenix was going back to Montreal for re-shoots. But sources told us at that time that contrary to reports a whopping three months of additional photography. That's a lot right there. They were simply going back for two and a half weeks of re-shoots on the third act of the movie. However, now we're finding out that, that might not. Have been the case in April. We found out the dark Knicks, the dark Phoenix ending was being changed in re-shoots from a space setting to a climax that finds the X men kidnapped and on a military train. Now, we've got James McEvoy telling Yahoo UK that the ending was changed because it was too similar to another superhero. Movie, here's the exact quote the end of dark v. Necks changed a hell of a lot the finale head to change. There was a lot of overlap and parallels with another superhero movie that came out a while ago. And we had no idea that we were dot dot dot com. Trailed off their you know the quote just ended. So let's jump into this, but before I even ask for your opinions, we gotta check the live chat, because there are a lot of people chiming in on whether or not they're planning on even seeing dark, Phoenix. David Jordan, Darrow says got my tickets already reviews. Don't stop me from seeing any DC or marvel movie has called for twenty said got mine. I ten minutes they went on sale. Sale. Kyle Johnson says I'll probably get my tickets next week going in cautiously optimistic. So back to that, quote now what movie do you think James McEvoy was referring to is pretty obvious was captain marvel especially when we talk about the difference in design of dark Phoenix, Jean grey taking away, making less flamy more different in that approach? So it seems to imply plus the train sequence we saw in captain marvel we have that in the trailers, and of course in the movie as well. So maybe there was a lot of that involved here as well. Trying to take away any kind of reference to cap the most he was the most obvious choice. Yeah. Especially when you consider the change in the setting of the third act to from cosmic to on a military train moving away from the cosmic aspect, and that's the thing that before Jeff Thompson here. I don't know if I buy this explanation to be honest with you have a couple of sources who saw this movie early cuts move in March of twenty eighteen and they tell me that the ending was already on earth. So I don't know if this is their way of. Hey, we pitched you space movie, but we had to change it because of that. And so now it's on the ground, I wonder if they're doing a little PR to cover their butts. I don't know. But it seems odd to me that they would say, oh, we're just gonna put it on the ground. Now. We don't want it to be Spacey when people had seen in the first an early cut of this film, and it was already on the ground in front of a certain monument in New York. So I dunno. I thought it was aqua man now there it is. Yeah. I you know, are you signing that sarcastic? It's nice. I don't know what the original ending was. I don't know what the new ending is other than it's on a train. I have no idea what movie could. All right. So even though we don't know specifically how dark Phoenix is going to end nor should we really right now before we even see the movie another question that comes from the story is should a movie even be changed for this reason. Because to me, it sounds like oh, hey. Maybe they should have taken a little more time to develop the story creatively so that you don't run the risk of having. Other movies out there being too similar to your own. That's a good point. Yeah. I don't know. I feel like we saw two different asteroid movies, we've seen to differ Truman Capote moves. It doesn't matter. It's about quality. Can you deliver the goods, even though the you may vote another movie? I don't think it really matters. It's a matters. Can you do it? Well, that's what as at the end of the day, a lot of movies have seen that feel similar to other movies, but they do a distinctly different and make it work with the organic structure of their movie. So I, I don't think it's a way to change things. Dark Phoenix was originally slated to come out before captain marvel anyway, right? So it's like they kind of had they beat captain marvel tha that ending. So why did they switch you know they don't think it's train. Yeah. Something, something doesn't add up to me. And this goes back to Jeff Snyder, the reporters number one rule for being a reporter, which is don't believe anything in actor tells you don't know anything. Well. To be fair. There's there's no to being there to James McEvoy. Things that were debating right now, whether or not their true aren't the specific things that James McEvoy pointed out and said the finale had to change. He was in saying, you know, we changed it from the cosmic thing to the, the trains. Right to stick to maga- voice, quote. I am of the mind that if it is, too similar than than. Yeah. I'm okay with a change. I'm okay with them thinking we have to change this differentiate ourselves in distinguish ourselves in the marketplace, particularly not being a movie that's going to do as well as captain marvel. If that is, in fact, the movie that we're talking about here. So I'm I am sensitive to those creative issues and I don't blame Kimber for wanting to go back and tinker with it. But yeah, I'm with you John, that a lot of this. This is just so much PR on the entire X men franchise, including the next film, which we'll talk about soon, which I don't really fault them at because this is a lame duck superhero film, none of these actors are going to come back and play these characters again, in the MC you Disney and Disney marvel trying to recoup as much as they can from this film. So they're doing this PR pushing I wouldn't put it past someone like McEvoy or fast bender to, like, okay, I'm going to speak about. These are the points. We'd like goes to hit. Okay. I'll do it as part of the PR programs. Part of promoting the movie. No prob. Problem. But I don't fault them. They want to make as much as possible gonna talk about new means a little bit. Same thing. They're just on recoup as much possible for they move on. I got. No. I don't fault them. I just wish I just think people can see through this.
Summer Movie Preview
"The movies of summer twenty nineteen. What is out there? What's going to happen? And I've got to start by saying you think maybe that summer begins on your calendar near the end of June. But not in Hollywood everything in Hollywood begins early because summer is when they make all the money that they can make all year. So officially April twenty six it's the beginning of summer because the movie that opens on that day is called a ventures endgame. This is three hours long. Nobody's gonna care. I predict that not only will this be the biggest box office hit of the summer, but it will be the biggest box office hit of the year. You remember what happened last time all the ventures or at least half of them seem to turn to dust than die mean? Now have those ventures that are left to signing if they can beat the evil fan. He so evil will the adventures be wiped out forever. Look how much money did these movies make I'm saying why would you basically kill the golden goose? This is going to continue in some way, we all know it. So what else is out there? I'm looking at my list. There's a major thing going on now of in terms of taking the Disney slash Pixar animated classics and turning them into live action movies. So we have The Lion King line king. One of the most successful Disney animated movies ever is now being done as a live action movie. You have Donald Glover being Simba. You have James Earl Jones actually being this father and the same scores. They're the same using. And it's directed by John Fabbro who did such a great job with the jungle book doing the same thing that I think we can all feel optimistic about what's going to happen. And then we have Aladdin when we remember the. Animated movie who do we remember the most? We remember Robin Williams doing the voice of the genie. This time doing the voice of the genie and being the genie. We have Will Smith. So big stars in this big kind of thing, they tried it with Dumbo earlier this year, and that didn't quite work the way they wanted to do. But we're talking about lying king and the Ladan so big deal. Now, what terms of old fashioned animation is out there. I don't know if you're like me. But there's a Toy Story four toy stories always been my favorite of those Pixar. There's something about Woody and buzz light year, and you're probably saying to yourself. Well, and Toy Story three didn't it happen. That would he said goodbye, Andy. And he went to college, and it was all over remember. There was little Bonnie Andy gave his toys too. So we're going to have little Bo peep comeback. I think when you look at what goes on in Toy Story, you have that kind of feeling of goodness of field. Goodness, but done with all the magic of Pixar. So if those adventures out there are going to have a run for their box office money. I would say Toy Story. Four is going to be the one that does it. So what else we now have men in black men in black international? You're not gonna see Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones anymore. But this time you have Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. As new agents who are out there in this men in black universe. Sometimes you say to yourself do I want more of that? And you never know to actually see it. And I can only tell because I haven't seen this movie yet. But it looks like there's chemistry there. Then we have Spiderman far from home. You know, the Spiderman franchise never seems to end either. But we have Tom Holland who played him last time charmingly, I think, but now spider man, Peter Parker. They're taking a European vacation and the villain that they run up against is mysterious. Played by Jake Jilin. All I just think they're still some special sauce in the Spiderman universe, and I expect this one to also be a major hit. Godzilla Godzilla king of the monsters. I see that. And I go how much can they work this poor God's, but you can look at the trailer and see it. I like the idea that aside from viewer for Megan who is in it, Billy Bobby Brown from stranger things is in its she the dynamo. So if God Zillah can basically meet his match betting on little Millie to do something with that Hobbes and Shaw, this is fast and the furious you remember the rock of playing the the law man, and Jason stefon playing the outcast and the rebel these guys. I don't know if this is Hollywood kind of thing, but they tell us that Jason stadium and the rocked wing Johnson. Don't really like each other. And maybe that what the reason we love these characters and show so much because we liked that conflict. I don't know it seems a PR stunt to me, but I'm going to be there because this cars. There's the rock and their Stefa. So you're going to be there to and you know, it, oh and the big deal. Now, everybody has just in the midst of welcoming game of thrones back to their lives. The last season of that. You can't bear to live in a world where you can't see the stark sisters anymore. Well, now, you can dark Phoenix, which is part of the X men universe. Bring Sophie Turner, and she's Jean grey this character that we've seen before. But she's this younger version of her and she split between the good side of her and the dark Phoenix side of her. And to me, these girls are tremendously talented in what they do on game of thrones. And I think we're going to keep seeing them through the years, but her sister her at least game of thrones sister, maisy Williams is in new mutants part of that universe too. But in this case, they're all new characters to do this. They're all gonna be in the X men universe. Doing it. So that's it for the blockbusters that are out there. You've got everything from animation to comic book characters to everything. And that's the stuff that you hear about that your friends are going to talk to you about. But there's gotta be other stuff to part of summer is comedy of. I think we all really have gone through a long winter. And we're saying make us laugh give us something that will just make say, whatever. I can just sit back and not think. So what's there for that? There's a movie called longshot. This is a movie in which Charlotte Theran is playing the secretary of state who is running for president. But falling Manley in love with who staff throw in. Okay. It's like, a beauty and the beasts thing going on here. Seth Rogan is her speechwriter all of her people say what are you doing? You're going to destroy your career. But no, it's love. And if you don't laugh at the combination of Seth Rogan, Charlie staring. There's nothing left for you. And then we have the hustle. The hustle is a movie that used to be called dirty run scoundrels where the old days it was about conman. Now, it's con- women. They're played by Anne Hathaway and rebel Wilson. And they basically go all cross the continent finding rich people whose money they can steal pretty people. Glamour? What's wrong with that? Oh, book smart. This is directed by the actress Olivia Wilde, and it's about girls graduating from high school and saying we spent all our lives with our head in the books. Everybody else is going to parties and having fun. So they're going to do that beanie Feldstein plays one of them. She is the sister of Jonah hill and real life and Jona hill did super bad. This is kind of the women's version of super bad everything in it works, like a charm. You're really going to like that one. Then we have a movie called late night. This is about the TV talk show world and Emma Thompson plays. Probably the only woman on late night TV who hosts her own show, but she's got only men on her writing staff, and then she hires Mindy Kaeling who also wrote the screenplay of this movie, very very funny about what happens when you put women into what basically has been. A male bass they end of doing this. And the combination of Mindy king writing for the great Emma Thompson and watching them perform together is just so you've got to see that one to my favorite kind of thing. The dead. Don't die. You've got to admit that is a great and funny title. It comes from the indie, directing great, Jim Jarmusch. And it's cut people like Bill Murray and Adam driver by zombies. Okay. If Bill Murray is going to go out there and get laughs. Sizing up zombies. I'm going to be there watching him do it. So we have a good chance for laughs horror. I've got to talk about it now because it's not just the Cajun. Oh movie harm movie that makes money any makes people talk and get happy. It's they're everywhere. Now child's play do you? Remember the old child's play movies where you had Chucky. The crazy nut doll that. Always terrified me. Just. This doll who looks kind of little bit weird and freckly, but he has a voice on him like a longshoreman guess who's doing the west now of Chucky Marquel? Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker. And from what I've seen of it in. It's just been a little bit of it. It's wonderfully malevolent, so I'm going to be there to see that one. Then there's Annabel comes home. Another doll another possess doll also part of the conjuring universe where a viewer for Megan Patrick Wilson. Or the demon knowledge is that tried to make sure that nothing bad can come of this horrible doll Annabelle, but Bill will destroy and I will be there to watch her. Do it then them that follow their certain titles that get me them that follow really gets me? And it's about a snake handling church in Appalachia. No, they there are there colts. And they're almost religious cult where people pray. But they have the snakes, and they hold the life thinks pass them on. And you're thinking, what are you tell me about this like CD movie Har movie will guess who the star of this movie is the freshly minted Oscar winner Ogilby Coleman from the favourite, she's tossing those snakes around so irresistible. I think you're gonna love it. Then there's the Nightingale. See it's does not stop. It's har- everywhere. The night and gas from the director, Jennifer Kent who did a thing a couple of years ago called the baba Duke, which gave millions of people nightmares. And now she's back there following a woman who is chasing a convict got to be hooked. And then midsummer midsummer directed by REI Astor who last year gave us hereditary with Toni Collette, a really scary movie. Now, it's at a nine day Swedish holiday where everybody celebrates. But they'll be no celebrating after this one. So we. Got a lot of stuff out there. That's just going to scare us witless. And I couldn't be happier. All right. When summer comes. We think of all the things I've just talked to you about blockbusters comedy horror action, the rock of everything is there, but every even in a season like this. It's all about money and getting us into our theater, there are those movies that can come out entertain us. And also will hear about them at the end of the year when the Oscar nominations come out and the number one movie on that list, and the one that I haven't seen anything of India's of anyone that saw even anything past the trailer is called once upon a time in Hollywood it is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino its stars in order to Capri, oh as a TV star on the wane in Los Angeles. And Brad Pitt as his stunt double whoever thought of

"So and as we do I wanted to actually bring something up, I which is have you noticed that city Comecon always falls in the dead middle of event. Comex it's true true. So does this mean we have to do another rap battle? Okay. First of all, dude. Do you know how long that took too right? And practice. There were a lot of internal rhymes fair enough. Okay. So what crossover fire are we jumping into this time that would be age of X men, the one where of fake Maru McTaggart creates a podcast podcast. This is why you're here. Live one. We're bake more McTaggart treats pocket Topi to raise her ex boyfriend's estranged sons self esteem, this really rude echo these things happen. All right. But either way no the one you're thinking of his age of x. So this isn't Allegiant thing. It's kind of a legion thing. See he tried to prevent a catastrophic a big task fee, which in turn precipitated and even worse catastrophe. Oh, okay. So h vaccine is the one religion went back in time to assassinate his father's greatest rival. But it was while the two of them, we're still friends. So as dad jumped in front of the bullet and the world became a hellish Topi based on a massive misreading of Darwin that's age of apocalypse way. But isn't that were expand comes from? How do you is the cable that time line in a manner of speaking Keeble was the biological child of earth? Six one six cyclops our lab grown clone of Jean grey made by a mad scientist after Jean died. X men is the lab grown genetic offspring of the cyclops and Jean grey of earth to ninety five. Is the clone whose cables biological mother the same one ex-man hooked up with later that was her ghost. I'm not sure if that makes it better worse. I know. Right. So anyway, each of X men is a universe that Nate grey. That's the lab grown one from age of apocalypse. Right, right. The other one is Nathan summers. Okay. Okay. Anyway, h of X men is Nate's deeply misguided attempt at creating a perfect world, mostly by radical personal intimacy. Run up on me again. Well, he figured that close interpersonal relationships where the basis if most of the factionalism in strife in the world toyed, I thought stripe was a clone of cable. But he was clone created by cables, alternate universe sister. So by coincidence, the point actually still stands, oh, this isn't just like a no Hanky panky situation men has actually banned millio relationships too. Yeah. Now, you're getting okay. Look familiar relationships. If nothing else that has to make the summers brand maxima families a lot simpler. But the X men are so far we love let alone Antic tension, and what's left? Okay. First of all there is secret ramp. Romance all over age of X men. There are also just secret thought police dedicated to a Radicati it creepy. Well, yeah, it's a fascist state. You have to establish the screwed up status quo. If the main point of the narratives breaking it think about age of apocalypse. Okay, fair. Plus, of course, there there is a resistance. We're fighting bring back to the world, I should hope. So who's leading it is gambit who or rogue and gambit. It does not have you one of the great romances of X men, right? Or maybe group of close family members. Are there any families and X men that aren't super dysfunctional the Guthrie's, but they're not really involved in this? Honestly, though, the resistance leader is probably not who you're expecting. Like, no matter who you're expecting is it. No. If it were sore on the goal of the resistance would be for everyone to be dinosaurs. Which is valid secondary goal that love wouldn't be part of it. Will it be mister sinister he'd be lakes super into a universe where they were all the kids and lamps wrong? But you're getting warmer. Can they get in? It's someone who could have been a summer, brother..
