"Need. If you need a running back this week in this week only i think dearness johnson is the top guy that you can count on assuming that nick job does not practice on tuesday and you cross your fingers. That he doesn't play in the game and then the shots and has this great opportunity against the beat up denver defense he would be my favorite guy and then after that i'm thinking more long-term reminder stevenson would be second devante freeman would-be third All those guys are available in at least sixty five percent of leagues. Johnson freeman basically available in every single league. Those are my top three at running back. Okay jd mackenzie if he's is the shallow guide. Look at. There's a lot of shallower your michael carter and then. I don't think we've talked about sony michelle. I think he's sixty six percent rostered. There's definitely a garbage time opportunity against the detroit. Lions so you know. This is the type of golf ball types of decisions you might have to make this swagger wide receiver jamie sterling shepherds one who else so had birds one. I've gone back and forth on two and three. But i put aj green to discuss the matchup against houston in elise. You know what you're getting from him. Plus the health factor the wild wild said. He is healthy. Frank said he's healthy. He did lead the game with a quad injury. So you could put in second if you want but green consistency has been pretty you know. They're six targets and every game Thirteen pr points for the last five. And so while you're not adding another player in the mix was accurate and you see white is playing at least you know. Aj greens if he continues to get these opportunities. He's doing something with them so Hopefully takes advantage of houston than forecast is eighty yards four targets in. His first game seemed pretty. Good report Right away with carson wentz and you saw something different in this matchup for them with hilton. What they do with paris campbell. The fifty one yard touchdown you know pass to campbell but hilton making plays down the field. The offense now opened up a little bit. you know. Forget about campbell. Not being there with socks but now you have a guy rushed the field. So i hope it doesn't come at the expense of michael pittman like we saw. But you know d. y. Hilton as we as we saw last season was a very good fantasy receiver in hopefully. That's the case again. Now these back yeah. All it took for hilton was just getting on the same page with quarterback. It took him half the year in twenty twenty. Doesn't seem like it's taken them that. Long twenty twenty one. No love for darnell mooney. I haven't fourth good match up. But i just want to trust doesn't fields and at some point we're going to see some something from alan robinson. So he's there you know. He's he's worth adding for sure To last three games have been good productive at least for fantasy purposes but targets. Just haven't been off the charts and this is still team. I think that's going to be run..

"Timing routes passing concepts to either create traffic for the defense or work dies loose and use that to really get the ball out of the quarterback hands quickly and safely yet. That is what they want to do. Really use the passing game is more of an extension of their running game and running ball. Antonio gibson is a solid running back. He's not big but he's quick. He's got really good vision. Really good contacts balanced tough to get on the ground like you have to make a concerted effort to tackle him. Otherwise he is going to squeak through and pick up two or three yards that he really shouldn't and Say jd mackenzie again another quick undersized but quick running back really dangerous receiver out of the backfield and gibson is. They're belco. I mean this guy had over twenty carries in this game. He did fumble the football twice which was devastating in led to the chargers winning this game essentially because washington ended up forcing a turnover late in the game and then on the very first play gibson. Put the ball on the ground Allowed the chargers to maintain their twenty sixteen lead a little scared of antonio gibson from the sense that he he's about two hundred twenty pounds plus he's a fit kit and these difficult to bring down. He's a dual threat. That you can definitely can definitely be used out of the backfield even know jd. Mckissick is their primary receiving back but last week gibson had five targets. Mckissick had one. So they're going to use gibson in that in that role as well as for logan thomas interior maclaurin tire maclaurin can be effectiveness. Shore the intermediate and the e portions of the ball. That he caught from taylor heineke where he was tracking in his head was parallel to the ground was just incredible and i am a little bit concerned about the match. Up of these safeties against logan. Thomas converted quarterback turned himself into one of the better tight ends in the national football league. Incredibly big body type of guy. I think it'd be really really annoying in quick game. Which is something. The giants struggled when they lined up at man coverage last week's the giants continue to want to Attempt to play man coverage than. I think there could be mismatches. Exploited with these running backs against the giants linebackers with logan thomas against the safeties. I think bradberry could matchup against mclaren but mclaren indefinitely best bradberry man coverage because we saw last week bradberry was not the best nine believe bradberry has always been more of his own corner than a man corner although he can play man coverage for terry maclaurin the very very good receiver that cannot be slept on even though it is taylor heineke Ball just one more guy. I want to draw attention to is the rookie out of north carolina. That diani brown he. His guy kinda caught my during the draft process. He's not big six foot one eighty five. He's not fast four five but over his last two seasons at north carolina. He averaged twenty yards a catch. He i think he's good. Off the line of scrimmage has got quick feet solid release and he's good at Working himself open down the field. He didn't do a whole lot against the chargers but they did look at him a fair bit so i think he could be a guy to keep your eye on if they have to look off of terry maclaurin yet. I would take dorie jackson in a match up with the brown but if you start to see the ball go his way. Don't be too surprised if he makes a player too. So i think the the one thing that we can highlight from all the stuff that you guys laid out here that they do have some underrated weapons and it's kinda like you know any any week where we can just assume that the giants defensive game plan is going to be effective but if they're not prepared for some of these secondary options they could potentially gash them if they even if they do an effective job of slowing down terry maclaurin. Any of other guys could be open and available for big gains. We've seen antonio gibson have some big games against the giants last season when he was a rookie and if he to be successful. It's going to be partially depending on if the actually holds onto the football and like what he did in week one. But you mentioned. Also nick the the importance of giving logan thomas the ineffectiveness of covering tight ends in week. One was very apparent and that is something that needs to be corrected on a short week. They're going to need to be prepared to go against logan. Thomas who we know is a fantastic athlete and for whatever reason athletic tight ends tend to be a struggling issue for this giant secondary. Last bit offensively before we transition to the defense this office of line. I think is. It's tough to really figure out. How consistent that. They are because a chase their center very strong so far. He's looked really good. Since taking over that spot he was one of the guys that was tied for pass. Rush win rate in week one with nick gates and some other notable names. But then you've got former john eric flowers. You've got charles leno. they drafted sam cosmi. I feel like overall. This group has some quality players but they're fairly inconsistent. This might be a good week for the defensive line to really establish the line of scrimmage and maybe bottle up the run game because they have some mismatches on that offense and defensive line. That's what i'm hoping happens to be honest because leonard. Like if you watch the game against the broncos extra lawrence was being held a solid amount. And i'm not complaining about. They're not being called holding happens. But i saw lawrence pushing the pocket and flushing teddy bridgewater out. Bridgewater was good on the run. Extemporised clays and leonard williams. I mean he. He was tallied for six pressures. It didn't jump off the screen..

"Either not doesn't sound very very confident in his ability to play Thursday and several guys locker room talk about the short weeks you know players complained about them all the time with good reason I mean so much of the week the work week from players recovering and when you don't have that full week it's cut in half really even less than that which is not good if you have bumps and bruises or even worse than that an injury of any kind to trying to get back out on the field of three it's like welcome home raiders you guys were on this long road trip that went over twenty seven thousand miles is now we're gonNA give you a short week even though your home so in that short week I mean we're trying to get these two guys back there especially key to their units the defense and the offense but miles right now I want to shift over to the defense their performance I mean Darryl Worley like Adam mentioned that key play that one handed interception that lead to more points for the raiders the raiders were on the plus side the turnover battle getting points off the lions mistakes this week so how good was is this defense even though they gave up over four hundred passing yards to Matt Stafford they came in when they needed to degree yeah I mean I wouldn't call them good I just wouldn't I think the the four hundred seventy three yards in really they were able to move up and down the field with such ease that you just it it doesn't make you feel good about the win a team can come in here with a quarterback in with receivers that in running back maybe that won't make mistakes I think the that interception that really wasn't unbelievable lay and I understand why Matthew Stafford took that chance because he had a guy in one on one coverage in for the most part those guys won those battles throughout the course of this game but at the same time now look you had a fumble exchange between Stafford and JD mckissick that was was really a key play because the raiders were able to then go down the field and score after that interception the raiders were then able to go down the field and score so yes the raiders were able to get wants off those takeaways and then of course karl-josef makes great play at the end of the game to keep the lines out of the end zone but I think overall you're still talking think about a team that gave up four hundred seventy three yards and you can't do that you can't give up you know one hundred twenty five plus two two different receivers and continue continue to expect to win and continue to beat the teams that are really at the top echelon in this league if you WanNa make a playoff push that's not the kind of defensive performance that you can stand Eknath because a lot of teams aren't going to beat themselves like the chargers did today or excuse me Leinster today will you say chargers but yeah I mean that's who they have to face next and they had they shut shutdown Aaron Rogers so I mean Philip rivers is prolific and you know it's like we talked about before this game at Green I had said that in his column even that he has review journal Dot Com that the raiders have struggled against elite level quarterback so I- atom where do you put Philip Rivers rivers in that mix who they have to face next well Philip rivers has been in the past I certainly wouldn't consider him to be an elite level quarterback right now actually I would consider Matthew Stafford for this year to be playing at an elite level today I thought he moved the ball at will And again you take away the fumble which was JD. Mackenzie that's only been on the team for a couple of weeks you know they brought him in I think it was the first snap that he took trying to take the hand off and it heads up on the ground the raiders get it otherwise the lines at drove all the way down the field to to try to score there so the raiders dodger bullet on that one and then the interception in the end zone is just an unbelievable play by Worley on another drive that the lines we're kind of moving up and down the field I don't think you count on those things to happen very often but basically it's to just unbelievable apply that you're not going to see very often and the other one is the team shooting itself in the foot as miles said so you can't count on that being your your your hope to try to stop a team like we're going to let them go up and down the field on US but maybe they'll make some point that's not really a great strategy for a you know a defensive game plan plan and I you know maybe with the chargers you do get that because the chargers have found ways to make mistakes every single week it seems like until this week they just figure out ways to lose games that they should probably win so maybe that's the strategy for that game and maybe it's for the for the Bengals game to do that as well But I you know I don't think the raiders are GonNa sit back and say hey we played a great defensive games that I had gone up against wherever is going to be a challenge the chargers certainly with new offensive coordinator chain Steichen did a really good job and you know we'll talk about this on the on the preview that we do you know coming up this week but you know so often you see team get a nice bounce off a new coordinator a new play call or something like that changed for another quarterback takes over calling the players to the chargers today they put together a pretty good you know a pretty good game plan a pretty good day except for they can finish dries is central for a lot of field goals so often than that second week third week team starting in film start to catch up but again it's a short week so there's not a whole lot you can do necessarily surly they're.
