He had a couple of real hard and hardened moments that passed a maxi was filthy. The bounce pass? Yeah. Yeah. That was, yeah, that was sick. Yeah, he's brilliant. And I guess I just want to see a little bit more from the sixers before I'm like, oh my God, the sixers are who we thought they were when they were spanking Tom thibodeau 5 months ago. Is there any other series? I just want to hit on by the time I think a lot of people listen to some I Deandre in story is going to be out. Just keep an eye on Deandre ayton, like I was even blown away by the numbers, but did you know he shot a better percentage from mid range this season than Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell? I did not know that. No. This guy, what he's done with his offensive game. I mean, he told me, he's like, I want to be a threat. He's like, I'm playing with the vengeance. The work he put in floaters, jump hooks, ceiling in the paint. He had a better points for possession average in the post than Yanis. Than AD, he shot better in the paint non restricted area than Luca and Giannis, like, this guy is more than just Chris Paul is pick and roll partner. He was shot a better percentage in a lot of those areas in the time that Chris Paul was out this season when he started popping threes. Yeah, just keep an eye on ayton, man. Listen, the sons rightfully so caught a lot of heat taking him over train Luca and he's obviously not going to be those guys, but I'm just impressed he's proven how valuable he can be to a championship team and he's more than just a he's more than just a lob threat he's so much more than that and I was really blown away by because I was hearing from him from suns assistant coach Mark Bryant, the work he's put in on his offensive game. Defensively too, I mean, he's probably at this .1 of the last guys in the league who you feel comfortable with going on on one against yo kitchen indeed, AD, et cetera. Yeah, man, just keep an eye on Deandre. The one I love ayton and I think the one question that some people still have the people who do have questions about the sons is, can you go small and force it in the planned space and force and can ayton then punish you on the glass and.

"Okay, let's jump into the postseason talk. Let's recap some weekend action. I have some friends. Yes, sure, exactly. I primed you up with some questions for a few series that I think we should be covering a little deeper than others. And the first one, I don't want to bury the lead anymore. Obviously, the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets played as classic of a game one in the first round. That was the most game 7 game one of all time. Yes. That was a heavyweight prize fight. It was a great basketball game. The Celtics obviously won at the buzzer, Jayson Tatum's layup, one of the more entertaining sequences that you will see watching professional basketball, the fact that emea duca did not call time out when a lot of coaches in that situation would have all the time. That's kind of my litmus test for coaches these days. The coaches who push like is a pusher. Like, you don't, those are the, that's like my, you know ball. You know what I mean? That's the closest to coach, you can get to being a peer Uber. So that sequence, but just the whole, honestly, we'll get into it. We'll talk about Kyrie in a second, of course. I like to try to keep it as much to what Kyrie does on the basketball court as a player, but he makes it also kind of to be honest. 100% ignore all the other stuff. That was the most I've ever rooted for Kyrie in my life. To me, and I know a lot of people who felt the same way. I was texting a lot of people who felt the same way like, that was the most heat endeared himself. To people in a long time. And I hate to break it to Mike, but I think a lot of people who are not Celtics fans felt that way. I feel bad for people who are rooting for carrier Irving. I'm just going to, I'm just going to say that. I felt great yesterday. It felt great yesterday. Just letting it wash over you. I'm sorry. That was incredible. He was unstoppable down the stretch. Just like, you know, we've been watching him for a decade, but sometimes he will hit a 33 footer with a hand in his face. And it just makes it look easy. The shot he took that was kind of near the dotted line near the free throw line where he had to double clutch because the help defender came into block it over the top..

"Like he played as long as ten Milwaukee, he played his best in Seattle. He won his first championship with the Celtics, but he was everywhere with the exception of Miami pretty much the same amount of time. And the accolades were generally kind of consistent, which it sort of takes you away from having your Jersey retired somewhere unless like the bucks were electing to do it. So I don't see it. I could be wrong, but I don't think he is next. Sorry, I forgot to mute myself. Yeah. It's a real borderline thing. They would not have been able to trade for Kevin Garnett if they hadn't got Ray Allen first. So he's the one that enabled them to get Garnett and win the championship. When Garnett came in, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen played defense. And they hadn't been known for that before. And I remember Nate McMillan watching real and that season saying, what the heck? Why didn't we have this? When he was playing for us in Seattle. So Ray Allen changed a lot with the Celtics. And every year there would be trade after the first few years, every year that we trade rumors in mid season real was in the almost got moved a couple of times and he found out about it. So it's really borderline. A lot of cities would be a no brainer to trade rail and because that would be the only championship they have. But here it's a different metric, right? What I really liked about what was really intriguing to me about that whole ceremony was to imagine what Jayson Tatum was thinking while he was watching it. Well, he was in the audience. And to get a sense emotionally of what Garnett's leadership meant to the team and how that kind of leadership turned into a championship. And he was able to feel the emotion of it from the fans and from the whole aura of the thing and experience that and I'm sure he's sitting there visualizing, can I be that guy too? Can I be the guy when they're putting my number up there and they're talking about I led the team, well now this is what I'm going to have to do. It must have really hit home to him. And it would not have hit home a couple of years ago because he wasn't even more close to doing it. But now he's feeling he's on the verge of leaving a team to the championship..

I am just wait for bone alongside Cedric Maxwell, a brief hiatus. I mean, between me getting at a health and safety protocols and max feeling on the weather last week, we were finally able to get together this week. What's up max? How are we feeling? No, I'm feeling great, man. Happy. And, you know, all that subscribers who've been around and waited for, you know, we got some good segments for you. How about these two kids? One of them is Jayson Tatum. The other one is jaylen Brown, but man, they put one hell of a performance together. Combined for 66 points. The Boston Celtics gave the Sacramento Kings of beating. One 28 to 75, what was it? 36 from Tatum. You had 30 from jaylen and of course, Tatum coming off the 51 piece that he had at the nation's capital, which I was able to see up close and personal. It's been one hell of a run, I guess, but of course, two games, not quite enough, right? We've seen this team long enough, but how do you feel about them right now? Just wait, are you going to talk about The Oprah 27 for the 3.9? Are you going to get to that? For 20 max, that was weeks ago, man. It still was like, that is this glaring that think about that. These are all for me. Shooter. And you see how the law of averages works, though? And you know, here's another one. Steph Curry hasn't been shooting it well here lately. And that's kind of crazy when you think about the greatest shooter of all time. You know, not knocking down shots. Now, they can't say they can't get it going. But and then you look at us. So what's going on in Brooklyn? I mean, I'm not sure what the rant is doing up there now. And I think the craziest thing about it, what would happen.

"Just please wear the game starts. Yeah, help the man out. At least we're not talking about the paths anymore. In the interest of time, because we've got you for another ten, 15 minutes, there's still some stuff that I want to get to. One of which you did a deep dive on for mass live earlier today, which of course, everybody's talking about it Jason Tatum's shooting struggles. The man is, you know, 14 straight mysteries now after the zero for 7 against the hornets, he's shooting a career low just below 32% from three point range and he's doing it as you noted on a career high 8 attempts per game. You know, Brad Stevens was on the radio this morning, said he's not concerned about it. You know, guys are going to miss. It's all about getting looks. If you get the looks eventually wanders gonna find its level and yada yada yada, but should we be concerned me rob? Yeah, I mean, first of all, when Brad's comments is like, what is he going to say? Like, yeah, I'm freaking out about it, because it's incredible. This is awful. This is our cornerstone and easy. Forgot how to shoot this season. Now, but. Tatum has a history of starting season slow and then really finding his own after the all star break. So from that standpoint, you don't worry too much. There is time to turn things around. With that said, this is a pretty dramatic drop off. Like 31% is bad. And I know the NBA as a whole has taken a dip in 3.3 this year for whatever reason, whether it's fans back. The new ball. The new ball. Tatum obviously is playing the Olympics. He hasn't had time to dive. He can point to a thousand different reasons why might be the case, but the problem is, like, what everyone kind of wrote about, too, and everyone talks about what the Celtics need and the offensive was a big part of the equation is Jayson Tatum has been a lot worse on offense this year. Like period. And when you're efficiency drops, and if you just play at the level they were at playing out last year, they would be the four or 5 seed right now. They would probably have won at least three or four more games just based on the amount of 5 of 19 duds that Tatum has had this season, which I think honestly is probably approaching 8 9 ten games right now in total. So there's still time to turn around the four years of a track record indicate that no, he has not forgotten on issue. We have pretty good at hard evidence that he'll come around on this, but you do have to wonder just, again, when this turns around and whether the fact how much of a problem the fact that someone don't have reliable offensive outlets around him have kind.

"So nothing's out there yet, but if this is something that could potentially keep him over a little bit, here is this the kind of thing you would think would shut them down tried, or would you just kind of say out these exhibitions and then jump in those real games? Well, I think I think this is a situation where having a head coach be there with you is a very good thing because I think if there is any content that Tatum isn't going to be right, and that this is something that can linger, you better believe Michigan. Dhoka is going to be no more. No more games for you. J T sets it down. Watch do what I'm doing. Watch the games because your value literally, your value is so much greater choice. We get past this Olympics, then it is in this moment and I think Jayson Tatum again, he's he's a smart enough guy to know that his he has to be physically ready to roll when the Celtics season, not only because of who he is and his stature with the team. But your right hand man JB may not be ready to go from day one and if that's the case, your impact is going to be needed even more so than it already is so long, I expect him. If, if this, there's if there's any inkling that this thing might be more than just a little soreness that they're going to shut them down. Man I I hope that it's I mean obviously I hope that it's minor but that's this is the worst thing you want to hear is it is really like nice stories. I hate hearing me soreness. Give me an upper body. You know, give me like whatever. But don't tell me right knee soreness. So I think Celtics fans have nightmares about, right? And left knee soreness for the history of this team, going back to, you know, kg and off all those, all those players, man. And man, have something if something really was tweaked and for it to get worse, like overseas. And all this crap. That is why some people? And they were the minority, but there were some people that just didn't want. That's what I'm saying. We're snack off. This is next big thing here. I thought he would have begged to come on tonight, especially with the o n to start. Yeah. What's even the upside here? Even going to get gold. I'm just going to I'll try to do my best Nick tonight. Yep. Yeah, that's a good. That's a good start. Yeah, let's let's not, you know, jump to conclusions just yet but obviously, and I like she rides point, you know, your head coach there, and he's probably making sure that you're taking extra precautions and you know, maybe it's maybe it's barely barely sort, all, maybe they just didn't want him to go back to back, you know? I mean, they just played yesterday and what's the point in doing that? Anyways, playing back-to-back Point, USA games, given back to the USA training camp, just ridiculous, really dead. We'll see. Like we didn't do enough back to fax over the last 365 days where we need to do back-to-back exhibition Olympic Games really. I'm sorry I saw you tweeted sharrod cuz everybody was just you know, the the serial game came and went it's like oh that was weird. And then all of a sudden you go to the Australia game and they lose two straight and it's like, all right, something's happening here. They might still win, gold, they probably will, they're still pretty heavy faith. To do so, but something's up with this team like, you know, you heard Joe card and pop, get into it yesterday over the margin of Victories and bar and had a point at this team, they went gold not games by Thirty and you know, I'm all for having some more competitive games, the last two games, are closer than any NBA Finals..

"The Long offseason continues to the Boston Celtics, the the organization be robbed. I think is spread out all over the place right now. We get what Jayson Tatum? He may, who do, I believe Brad Stevens in Vegas? Oh, this week with the crew, including plays exclusive, I think, have you, have you heard that? I have not heard that, but that makes sense. Like cuz it would dhoka is not technically an assistant coach. If you look at the the roster and the list of coaches only three assistant coaches and I assume there's like fifteen or Twenty assistant coaches there. So I was surprised by that as well cuz I didn't think that he may shun was on the the coaching staff this year, either. Maybe maybe isn't a brad Stevens. Is there with with the head coach? And the most important player Jayson, Tatum think what Jalen Jalen was was filming wage. For Jimmy Kimmel. I think. Yes, he was out in L believe recently. And yeah, so it will be. So is do we think Brad like do you think Brad's just dared to tell that may be in pop or close to? But I imagine there's a lot of unnamed coaches that are are, obviously. Now executives are in the building there, helping out, which is behind the scenes and tears, especially with the select team there as well. It probably would not heard on a few different levels for Brad Stevens to be. There does doesn't hurt the. The.

"What is this operation? They're running over here. Exactly, it would look. So amateur in like know, like who's actually running the show. Like it already was bad enough to me, they're going to have to have to happen. Then they're going to have to name somebody else to some sort of GM position. Prior to Brad, trading himself to another team. They can't just Justin Belichick. The pilot can't just launched himself to jump out of the plane while it's cold and all of a sudden, it's just a ghost playing driving right into the, you know, Indian Ocean. So, it's got somebody coming in though. He's got somebody, you know, that have somebody employees. That's okay. But in all seriousness, I don't think it happens to someone because I'm not that. I just can't think of that, that genius or GM mind, I could come in here and really, it really fix things, you know, you know, even better Jimmy, if they did all that. And then they had a press conference welcoming Danny Ainge back. Right. Well, that's the thing is like, they could if if, if it was dead set on getting something from Brad, they didn't have to change. Brad's job title or anything. They could have kept him as head coach. Yeah. Traded him as a head coach. And it would have and, and Danny Ainge could have still retired. They could have brought somebody else in ordaining. Could hold on for a little bit longer and Daniel, somebody they're making the moves. That's the whole point of trade-off. That's what it was all about. But if the idea behind Brad being, there is a look. If, if we feel it's money, then the then Brad's role is and look everyone in this room thinks it was driven by money and it's and he's a place holder and if if those two it's a placeholder situation and he won't be doing it for long. If all those things are true and the Celtics know it and Brad knows it. There's no reason to not make a move this offseason if the opportunity presented itself cuz you'd be in no different, you wouldn't be in a different place. If the idea right now is that brass There to offer his basketball brain to Austin agent as Aaron, who are going to actually be pulling the strings behind the scenes and Brad's there and.

"Enough one shot. You get one shot here. That doesn't make much sense, right? And then it's like oh is he you know, what are his now? What what is he looking for? Is he looking at just maximize his his stats cuz he wants to get that money. I wouldn't even fault them for it. If I know, especially this year, a lot of people said, oh is he is he planning for that on the H? I know what's the one shot, right? Well that's the thing. As you can get them before but at the same time yeah you want to play Team ball and all that stuff but at the same but like if somebody had said that to me, I'm like I'm trying to get paid. I'm trying to get that thirty-three million and then, yeah, obviously, let's try to win some games, but it's kind of hard to like bounce the two out there. You know, you're putting all that weight on this one season and then you convince, you know, Joe Schmo media member out in Denver to vote for you. You know what I mean? It's just nonsense off while Jaylen Brown's getting defensive all defense votes, right? He gets all over the place, right? It's it's a flawed very flawed system and there's really no way to fix it. It's just a Acted so much money relies on on, on it for some of these players Mitchell. Yeah, Mitchell starting the money. There was another guy, I forget now it's not my head, who missed out on it off and I don't even know if I let him in whatever, you know, for a minute or two. Yeah, I need. This is the worst seasons answers me. I am home. Oh, you're only ones that we go once a week. I want to get it right. Okay. Spotify is watching. Just went good, we're good. We've been here to this position in this year and I thought this, but it actually was right Tatum got more points than Irving by like 8 and because he was, he was shooting as a gunman most points most points as forward where he missed. Yeah. But he got more points overall than Irving who made me a team that's right. System to be tweaked a little bit, right? I mean it shouldn't be the same way guys. Wage For the All-Star Game and here's the fifth, just the 15, best players, go bearish and Beyond know. They will know they, they didn't because not just the top 50 players. It's dippy by position know, but they didn't they tweak the positions in some way way this year. Yeah, you could vote as four guys as a multiple positions but because the most votes for Tatum went for him as a forward, he got shoot in. As a former, he could have been voted in as a guard, but the voters didn't do it. It was a weird system this year. Yeah. And you saw three centers, and how does this help with the 32 million here in terms of life? You know, it's all attacks. So they're going to help. This is good if you're a Celtics fan right now, not really I mean with this shouldn't be a parade among Celtics fans going to say, if you think the owners are you going to stay with any man, but the money right now? You absolutely are happy. That he is that he saved thirty two million dollars, well, then you're over fog. Years per year, is probably going to be like four or five million bucks. Hey, it's something. Yeah, with their strained here. But ultimately, if you're strained, tax-wise under the cylinder, that's a much bigger problem..

"That's the that's a different than we're seeing now because now he's getting people the ball where they like he gets the ball bag and he's keeping himself engaged, you know, we talked about it before when he's ice cold throughout the first half. He's still capable to go off in that second hand. We seen that before throughout, you know, his tenure here in Boston and throughout his career essentially and I think the biggest difference this season or at least right now, but ticular the last few games are so is that one? Well, at least in this in this West Coast Road Trip one there is in the back-to-back, right? So we're going to see more Kemba where he's not going to be in and out of, you know, having to be forced to sit out and and to be going to be engaged more because now that the ball swinging more and and now that we're seeing some things get more opportunities for not only kembo but for Robert Williams it for Tatum that he's not going to just shy away. I mean, that's what I use the word we before where it seemed like if it, missed a few 3-pointers you felt like you couldn't find another way to be effective or you would down on himself. He didn't want to step on Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown's toes, but now everyone's encouraging One another and that's a huge difference. I'm seeing especially in that starting five. That's why I think it's so important for him to be out there of course and not having to sit out at least for these next week or so to the something don't have another back-to-back coming every time soon. I mean it's so for him to get more comfortable that starting lineup, of course with Marcus Smart back. And of course Robin Williams anchoring that that starting five. Yeah and you touched on it you just touch on a second know just lay off Williams. I mean, he actually made a made a shout out to face in the basket not just relying on lobbyists things like that, right that's going to tell you that is going to open everything up for Tatum and brown and Campbell sucks at some point teams are going to have to put some respect on Robert Williams face of game and when that happens before I guess the building for about a month now the key to it for him is he not hesitate because I think it's in his nature to get the ball and immediately look for who's coming for the handoff, but if he thinks of himself when he catches it and there was one in the first half. He caught it off. Short of the free throw line and immediately went up, you know and that's a tough shot from that distance for a big guy and and it just looked good and he dropped it and then he had another face up, you know kind of post up move where he got it and turned and put it up that stuff. He doesn't look for instinctively right on the catch. He's always looking for it on the table or on the on the interior Pastor to go up quickly, but very rarely as you said face up and look for his offense and and there's there's nothing mechanically wrong with his stroke..

"Right welcoming. Everybody Evansville twenty solo here on this Saturday Adam taking the week off should be back next week happy to be here with Forbes is Chris krenim coming off a loss and Detroit Pistons last night on a Friday night. After what was a tough road trip on the west coast Chris. They go three and four on the west coast. Plus these two games at home. I just kind of lump them all together because it's yep. In kind of an interesting road trip for the Celtics. I want these two in the end cuz it kind of encompasses. My first point. I'm not wasting any time here where you're right off right right into this right away here three and four months ago supposed to do games. Gets Toronto and Detroit and outside of the game against the Jazz. You can make the argument the game against the Jazz a little bit closer, but you know the second half opposite Jazz pull away best team in the NBA record wise, they definitely showed up in that game. But the one thing that I take away from this Chris this particular stretch of games is this team has moments where they play extremely well and you go back to that Toronto game and find a bunch of clips that were I was drooling all over the place and some certain things will get it out a little bit later, but there are times where this team just can't click consistently for 48 minutes Brad Stevens spoke about that last night after the game against Detroit how this team lacks consistency and that's what's really giving them a hard time in terms of taking that next step to being a really good team. The NBA Chris in your estimation. What is the biggest reason for the Celtics inconsistency this year? I mean if you're if you're looking at box scores across that stretch and really across the entire song in it comes down to three point shooting in their depth seems to be pretty reliant on three-point shooting and that's not to say that's a bad thing because that's just kind of where the game is right now like em, a lot of depth, you know, a lot of Coors across the league are relying on three-point shooting but for the Celtics, it seems to be a little more drastic. So you look at Toronto on Thursday the game against Toronto, excuse me, they shot 51% They made $23 right and last night. It was not quite as nice. It was ugly and then and then it makes the depth look terrible. So it's a lot of reliant on 3.6 and it's a lot of inconsistent ball movement. So again going back to the Raptors game. That's the Far Far positive end of the spectrum, but the ball is whipping around they finish with let me look here. assess last night Friday night they had 15 assists so that's double the assist so you can tell that ball is moving away from jail and Browns moving away from Jayson Tatum and that's when you get Guys open you get an MBA guy open doesn't matter of a starter he's a.

"Yeah, I agree on that. I mean Believe It or Not Jaylen Brown may have ruined Jayson Tatum's MVP bit if you can. But Hey listen, if you're a Celtics fan, you're fine with that because that means you have like a 2000 monster. I mean if both these guys end up on all NBA teams, that's better than one guy being MVP and trying to carry a little because teams that have just one guy they don't go anywhere. You don't care who you are you need. What up dog? But forget the MVP thing though, that's kind of the thing. We are talking about earlier would like the Ascension of both these guys having to get to a next level for the team to get to to the title. I think it's clearly true story of the Season which is that happens and they can get their it doesn't and they stay where they are then they don't but right now I mean you're in a position where a lot of teams don't have one of these guys the Celtics home all of them, you know, and that's the whole thing if these two guys are two of the top twelve fourteen players in the NBA forget about it like the you can fill with semi ojeleye is and Grant Williams isn't get away with it or the season. So that's the story of the season right now. You've got Jalen literally going games where he barely misses. He doesn't miss a two-point shot. He's Unstoppable with the boss and then it's like oh, yeah. There's also Tatum who might be one of the top three or four most skilled offensive players in the game who just puts forth in effortless 40 tonight. So those two things I mean, like I said, is those guys dead Yeah do this again. You can supplement with those other with those other players and and and get away with it. And in other words from John about Graham Williams minutes or semi-liquid fine within minutes, right? You're the you're the Lakers and LeBron and then you fill with whatever Jag wants to play for you because they want to jump it off your coattails to a championship..
