Twenty-first consecutive games going thirty more points at the fourth such long streak in NBA history. He's four shy of catching Wiltz third. Shortest such streak. "He wanted him to be a leader and be more of a CEO. So they bring in Todd Haley which Hugh Jackson with on board with and then they bring in they bring in Todd Haley and give them autonomy over the off. And when the offense wasn't playing. Well, I'm told that he wanted to assert some control over the offense at with Haley did not take well to and so you had this weird situation where Jackson the head coach the team if he was like he can't circle troll over his own offense. You have Todd Haley who's you know, basically doing whatever he wants because he was given that option to do. So and then, you know, after all of this, you know, it's clearly not working, and it's starting to spill out into the public and they're arguing Hugh Jackson office office, and then both of them end up getting fired in the same day. And so I don't think the offense dramatically change after Todd Haley. He was gone. I think that like, Freddie kitchens admitted as much as press conference that you know, the same play they were doing the same things. I think that like. Team needed that team. Definitely just needed a new dose of energy and leadership. And I think the Greg Williams his credit and for kitchens were able to provide it. So then what what it based on your your discussions and everybody either on record or whatever you could share as background with us here. Seth from what you gleaned from all the people the animus between Baker Mayfield in and Hugh Jackson would be would be what. Okay. I mean where where did that all come from played out? Well, I I didn't Baker was accurate when he said, you know, I think he called him a fake on Instagram. And I think that's what he saw. I'm not saying, it's totally legitimate. But I think that like there was a sense of the building. And again, this goes back to the power structures that and the reporting structure is that that the owner sets up that Hugh realized that he felt like that the Browns and their direction especially under Sashi Brown way worse than what she thought there's a lot of disputing about that. But that's how I think that's how he felt and. And so I think that when you have the owner being the typewriter you have a lot of fighting in a lot of yourself survival starts to kick in. And so I think that like you realize that he was in a very difficult situation. And you know, I think that he fought to keep his job as best he could and in the process probably alienates the people in the building Seth workers from here on the rich Eisen show. I'll tell you just having this conversation with you. And hearing what I hear in knowing what I know. And and obviously what I just read in your piece, I think the kitchens hires going to work out because the one thing that he is not Freddie kitchens from what I've been told that everybody knows him. What he definitely comes across as as a person one thing that he is not is a political animal like every other person in your piece, you know, he's just a football coach who. Who played you know, who played football Alabama, and who just wants to coach football and talk football. And that's it. And I think Baker response to that. And if Dorsey provides the right groceries and allowed to do it may maybe the Browns finally have it right here. There's two things number one is obviously, you know, did Jimmy house hire the right guy in John Dorsey pretty kitchen, and will they end up being good together. And we'll kitchen to be a good coach, you know. So there's the onfield product and the continuity and staying ahead of the curve and staying ahead of defenses at allowing Baker to flourish. And then there's the other thing which is when you have a team that so star for a franchise quarterback finally gets one, and that guy almost ends up having more power than maybe he should. "Check it out on ESPN dot com and ESPN it's it's a great read from your reporting. Let's get into some of the here. And now from your reporting who's choice was Baker Mayfield was at Dorsey. Hugh Jackson didn't want them or he said that. Todd Haley poisoned the team and Baker Mayfield against him. I mean what what happened this year best? You can tell Seth. Okay. So Baker was basically, a unanimous choice. I mean, people were a little worried about his height. But it was essentially a choice and told the during the sauce, you Brown era, some of the research they were doing actually had Baker number one. So Baker does number one. And then hard knocks happens at a media put the Browns issues on. Full display in front of everyone to watch and enjoy and consume. And then you see the team on the field this year. It was a really odd team. Because in one sense they were going to overtime almost half of their games during the first part of the season. So they were playing hard for Hugh. And yet you thought Hugh talking about how he had to take more control of the offense with Haley Baker wasn't playing. Well, you know, obviously, he's a rookie. So it's gonna take some time. But it wasn't like this looked like they had it together. And so then they lose to the Steelers the Monday after the game John Dorsey and owner Jimmy house them come into Hugh Jackson's office, and they tell them they're gonna go with a different direction. She was upset about this. He felt like that he had written the team out during these tough years when they were going to lose and everyone knew they were going to lose. And so he was shocked. He asked why and John Dorsey said because the team is quitting. And that I'm told very much upset, Hugh because again, they had gone to. Overtime. And we're very close to having a really good record at that point. And he told them to get the f out of his office. Yeah. That'll get you fired. So so here's the thing. I'm wondering though, okay. Because from what we found out on this show, we had the broadcast or iron eagle on the show a few weeks ago and he did that last Steelers Browns game. And I asked him about the situation that he saw on Cleveland playing out and he told a story about him and Dan Fouts going into a pre-broadcast meeting with the head coach, Hugh Jackson and hall of Famer Dan Fouts asked you how come you're not running more Oklahoma type plays for Baker Mayfield, y aren't you doing more of that to which I and said, Hugh Jackson said, I agree. And they were just kind of looking each other. What sort of answer is that from the head coach of a team? So from your reporting, what do you think was happening there with him and Haley, and and Baker and clearly something was dysfunctional that became more functional with all people as you point on your piece, Greg Williams. So what do you think? How did you Jackson to just be a sort of one of those head coaches? It's like glorified play collar..

"More on that Steelers, drama, more keys, pouncey and juice miss Schuster asked about Antonio Brown at the Pro Bowl this week said pouncey where band brothers who've been together a long time. You can't tell me a great phone conversation or sit down can't get things right juju Smith had this to say. Craig said about maybe you gotta fill a law firm, Cuba, come back. You guys. Welcome. He may. He's god. Yeah. Yeah. I mean. He still has some accounting to do. And you might be saying the quote unquote, right things by the juju. Smith Schuster, a Thursday guest of this program in Atlanta next week. He'll be at the Super Bowl who's just he's all kinds of awesome exactly is exactly the kid that you want to have out there as your star in your face of your franchise and being in the community and having fun and being a millennial and just being terrific. And I think his emergence is playing into the whole thing between Antonio and Ben. You get you get the sense into new Brown's gonna be on the Steelers next year. Right. That ain't Tony was going to be on the Steelers art Rooney says said it wasn't then he's like saying it's now, I guess it's more possible. Unless somebody isn't look somebody's gotta make the offer they can't refuse. They got three years of thirty nine million dollars left on his contract. That is extremely affordable. So that's one thing to look about. You wanna talk about drama. I mean, certainly what was behind the curtain going on in Cleveland, we knew it was dysfunctional. But we got a lot more detail to it. And he's one of the best in the business in terms of long form in terms of writing. And in terms of putting it out there. He is Seth worker Shem of ESPN ESPN dot com. Thanks for calling in Seth. Great to talk to you again. I'm good. You've given us a lots to to chew on right here. How long have you been, you know, digging into the Browns organization for this piece? I don't know. Exactly. You know, what I think look tension in a building that stuff exists? I think like what matters when there's something real that's at stake. And when I saw Baker Mayfield become a force in waiting during the second half of the season. I am automatically with thinking. Like, you know, what is going to happen here because this could go great or it could be red, right? Eighty eight the drive the fumble the shot and Baker Mayfield. And that's what I was trying to try to understand is it, you know, how this isn't for made what it's like to work for Jimmy house on what does means when you have a precocious young quarterback who looks like he's going to be a superstar for a long time. Yeah. And that said, and that's why I wanted to have you on as much of your piece, duh dives deep and very detailed into the banner Lombardi to sauce Brown years. And then when it comes. To the here. And now I'm wondering what you were able to glean about the ultimate question. Which is what you just said is why you started deep digging in here is what do you think is going to happen based on what has happened before? With Baker Mayfield. John Dorsey now with Freddie kitchens, the troika that is now in place of quarterback general manager and coach Seth I have. I have no idea that to me is what made it so fascinating. Because you've had a consistent run under owner. Jimmy, how some of these sort of arranged marriages and to me ends up being arbiter or the tiebreaker in creates a bunch of backstabbing, and distrust and problems, and obviously losing and that. You're going to you know, how important is for young quarterbacks to have continuity. I mean, look at Alex Smith how many often coordinators that guy had during his five years of his career. And so for Baker Mayfield to succeed Jimmy gonna have to two things that he has not done before one is higher. Well, and the other one is is be patient and stay the course. And we'll just see what happens. I mean. I think that like there's some reasons for hope, given the Freddie kitchens clearly John Dorsey higher in that he will report to John Dorsey and not to Jimmy them. But we'll see I think like the jury is out..

"Jason, and it is really it's really emotional. And it's it's a it is a mixture of all the emotions of. Filaret Shen and profound sadness, you know. And and. That is going to be part of your weekend. And obviously at the at the hall of fame another drama, though involving Philadelphia pitcher is schilling. The case of schilling not making it and having the numbers to do it. And so many out there thinking that his personal beliefs off of the baseball diamond is keeping him out of what should be only about baseball. What do you stand on that subject? Jason voted for Kurt every year. He's been on the ballot. And I strongly believe that he should be in. As I've said a billion times, it's not the hall of Twitter. It's the hall of fame. I don't think you can even argue with his baseball credentials. But I don't think there's any doubt that it's social media that has heard them, you know, if you look back a couple of years, you will see that his vote. Total took one of the biggest and most shocking dips we've ever seen any never threw a pitch. You know, you can't you can't make three dozen votes. Disappear unless it's got something to do with what you have done or said off the field. And this was the first year where I think we saw a sign that. That's the people are over that. And he's in perfect position. Now to get elected very possibly next year. He's the leading returning vote-getter. And he's cleared sixty percent. He's got three elections to go over the last thirty years every player who was in his possession. Over sixty percent. At least three years left has been elected by the writers. I have no data who will be the next on that list. Jayson stark here on the rich Eisen show if you could wave a one and change something about the voting process. I mean, this is always something discussed in the NFL world and the pro football world. What would it be here for the voting process for you for the hall of fame? Jason. Well, I I would I would love to see the rule of ten change. What most? Onto to read down the requirement that you have to get five percent to stay on the ballot. You know, there's been something that we've actually been kicking around on Twitter all day because I tweeted earlier today that Lance Berkman to me is one of the worst one in Duns we've ever had the only players in history with as many hits as Lance Berkman an OPN, plus which accounts for a player's home, home park and era are very bonds and Manny Ramirez, and we know why they're not getting in the rule of tin says you can only vote for ten even if you think twelve should make it I've been one of those guys the last few years, and it I don't see that rule changing. I wish it would. I wish we could just vote. Yes, or no. And then five percent, I think that if you don't get five percent in two consecutive elections that should be that should drop you off. Because if you. That way everybody would know when they went to vote. This particular player would be dangerous falling off doesn't get five percent. And people could vote with that night. I mean, again, keep making the comparison to football because that's the one that I've been intimately involved in in for fifteen years where there's a a group of individuals that has been designated to winnow the field down from semifinals two finalist. And then that is the group that's presented in front of of a of an election group. And in terms of you know, baseball, it just seems that there's a ton of people that aren't considered hall of famers for an absurdly long time..

"And museum for honoring a scribe for his life's work, and he is back on the program from the athletic and the MLB network Jason star. Congratulations, Jason rich. Thank you, so much, my friend who I what does this mean, man? This is awesome. This is fantastic. Awesome. I was up in Cooperstown. Last week meeting with people from hall of fame, and it it almost feels like thinning this someone else. But apparently, it's happening to me, and it's a real out of body experience. I can't tell you how excited I am to be part of such a distinguished group. I've taken great pains to make sure that people understand. I'd not comparing myself to marry I- Rivera or ROY halladay or Edgar Mike Mussina. My achievements are much different than theirs, but we will be bonded forever by that weekend. And that's really cool qualify. Jason seriously. Like everybody understands you didn't throw a fastball. He didn't eat inside nap off a curve or as Joe Torry told us yesterday, I was unaware just flat out developed a cutter in a bullpen session with Mel Stottlemyre is Marianne did back in the day. But you you deserve it, man. I mean, I've read your stuff for some time. I'm pleased to say that we were colleagues ESPN back in the day. And it's it's the greatest adult. Mitzvah party. You're about to have this is the greatest Jason really good way to describe it. My wife is used the same analogy. Well, look, I mean in Peter gammons can be part of your candle lighting ceremony will be fantastic. So let's let's get into. Let's get into the hall of fame class for the players side of things. What do you think makes it so unique obviously than other than Rivera's selection as unanimous thought all four players that we elected were great stories in their own right Marianna? Oh, I understand it Willie Mays Babe Ruth, and Ken Griffey and probably a dozen other guys should've been unanimous before him. But one of the things I think this makes totally clear is that the gap between him, and whoever you think is the second best closer of all time is so. I'd it might be wider than at any other position in baseball or in sports. So it was impossible for anybody to find a reason not to vote for Marian Rivera and thank God. We put an end to the dopey is tradition in sports. Mike mussina? I, you know. I'm thrilled that he made it. I've voted for for a long time. He was the biggest drama the day wasn't sure he would get their made up by seven votes. Your I voted for for a decade. I wrote a book of decade ago on the most overrated underrated players of all time at you as my most underrated D H after revise that chapter. Incredible offensive force. And then there's the ROY halladay story all the joy mixed with all the sadness. I still don't know how to process that. He's not going to be there next July. Obviously you spent many many moon in Philadelphia. What what what do you think that's going to be like with with Halliday and his family? And obviously the fact that he went down in a in a single pilot plane crash a couple of Jason. Well. It's going to be so emotional. You know, if you if you listen to his wife brandy speak yesterday at the gathering of of hall of famers. She's mazing, and so eloquent, and thoughtful, and well-spoken and honest and. You know, I'm I'm assuming it'll be you know, it'll fall to her to speak that day. And I can't imagine they'll be dry in the house because she's amazing. You know, he he was he was really a special individual, and you can see that reflected in his family, and it'll be reflected on that day. It just it's not fair that he won't be there. You know, I've mentioned this before. But we've never really experienced this any of us. It's been eighty three years since there was any player who got elected on the first ballot and was not alive to enjoy it Christy Mathewson in the very first hall of fame election, ever, the only other one I mean, my only recollection of all the hall of fame I've done with with the pro football fame where a first the first ballots election not there. It's happened twice. Reggie White junior sale..

"Eight. AM eastern time. He's none of them. Jayson stark Houria Jason rich. I'm great. How are you my friend? I'm doing fine. So is there going to be a special Bryce Harper corner or everybody just go from the winter meetings to his house is there shuttle? I mean what what's the setup here in Vegas? Lives in Vegas where the winter meetings are in his town in the year that he's a free agent. You just can't make this stuff up. I I I would say it's safe to assume that got bores has been collecting every bell, and every whistle that could be collected. And. The brace. Harper storylines will be wurley whether he signed meetings. There's a whole nother story. But we'll be talking about them nonstop. Why had him on the show a couple of weeks ago, Scott Boris, and I asked him if he's going to wait from charter to go first, he says, those are two totally unrelated issues. Do you believe that? No, they're not one is gonna set the market for the other. You know, Scott has this ability to create a bidding war in which the war is not necessarily team per team. But teams bidding against this mythical records that he believes Bryce needs to set Bryce needs to be the highest paid player in the game either measured again, the highest dollars per year or the biggest total contract with Jim Carlos Stanton deal or ideally in Scots world, both and. Even if there's only one team in the bidding, I I'm convinced. It's Scott will find a way. To have that team did against that dynamic. But the other side of the coin is Dan Lozano thinks the same stuff about many. And so, of course, they're linked. But I mean, so what do you think the market is for both? Let's start with with Bryce Harper because we're hearing that Magic Johnson's flying out with the dodgers contingent to go hang out in Vegas. That was the the yacht. Who sports report the other day that the dodgers shot down that magic even personally shot down. And I would not count out the dodgers. I mean, you can't right. But I also had people inside the dodgers tell me in within the last counter year. So we're out of the ten year nine figure contract business. Well, they're not gonna get Bryce Harper with at signing him for lease ten years, and at least nine figures that's safe to say, right? So we will we'll see about that part of it. The dodgers have played it very coyly. But it's such a perfect fit. It's certainly something to watch. Okay. So how many teams do you think are in on on Bryce Harper? I mean again that Yahoo sports report by Jeff passan, Tim Brown said upward of a dozen teams as you know, as I called around and about that since I I would take the under on that. I think it's really a much tighter circle. I think so is art completely in it. The White Sox clearly in it the national are lurking. But it's more challenging for them. Now after the Patrick Corbin deal. And then the many are truly monitoring this. I don't think they're bidding. But there then they don't need Jason date. They don't need him. I mean, you've got you've got in your outfield. Obviously you've already got that three hundred million dollar player or whatever else is left on Stanton's contract. Judge is a generational talent. That the whole fan base is head over heels in love with you're not putting him in center field. I mean, the it so while and. And on that front too. I don't think they need Machado either. I don't I don't care the D gregorious might not play next year. I mean, how many people come back from Tommy John surgery and throw one hundred miles an hour. I mean, I'm serious get through the you'll need to commit three hundred million dollars to to Manny Machado, if you're the Yankees, but I will. I'm with you. I think many is actually the better fit. You know, there are a lot of parallels here to Aaron Boone gets hurt playing basketball. And next thing, you know, Alex Rodriguez a Yankee. Concoc- that story line. Many has communicated to the Yankees from what I've heard that. He would like to be a Yankee. And again, they're clearly monitoring this are they are they gonna pay him three hundred million dollars. I don't see that depends. I think how badly he wants to be a Yankee. But the fact that he could start out playing short..

"All just going up to New Jersey com. Home take on the Redskins and Mark Sanchez or could be just Johnson by that point time. You never know. And then finish up at home against the colts, which could be a winner. Go home game kind of a playoff game in week. Seventeen titans. Looking good ravens are game in front of them there in Kansas City dolphins or game half game behind them. Their home for New England culture half game behind them there in red hot Houston, Broncos or half game behind them. And they're in San Francisco. Broncos have a whole bunch of should win games in front of them. All of a sudden how about an amazing in the NFL you go from three and six two should win games. Three weeks later. Our poll question is who's going to win the Heisman Trophy one hour any we we have a split vote. Three ways. Crass pretty close Cuyler Murray. Now is jumped ahead forty nine percent to forty five percent. In Haskins has six percent. No of doing ask. That's it. But hey, we have some nice parting gift for you. Which is a trip to New York for you and your family and then a trip out here to LA for the road for the Rose Bowl. And then a trip to Indianapolis for the comma then a trip to New York to be the giants quarterback. I'll come on now. I don't know. I don't think so he might be a first rounder. I think he will be a first rounder, but a top ten pick. Maybe look I shouldn't say these things it's so silly to try and and project it yet. So my gosh again last year this point in time Baker Mayfield, he's heading to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Hey, he's going to be the number one overall pick and be worthy of it by week, fourteen of the NFL, you're crazy. Yeah. It's crazy. And then Jason Starks. Gonna join us. We're gonna talk some baseball people. It's the hot stove. It's the hot stove Bryce Harper's on the market. Manny Machado is on the market. I still don't understand why the Yankees who are tied to Stanton's contract. And are going to end up having to pay all these young studs at some point. It's not my money. It's not I'm in the steinbrenners. Are you know? Doing more than just spotting dimes with Costanza. But I just don't understand why you would commit. That amount of money when d- de Gregori is down for the downfall count. I get it. But he's not done forever. You just had an do harm terrific season. He was an extra bass hitting machine you've got glacier towards you. Got all these young kids. What are you doing just grow with them? Get the pitching get the pitching. I would rather have them told if all day, we'll pay you five million dollars more than Red Sox. Come back where the pinstripes that have been a great signing a kind of expected that to happen. For your seventy million. Yankee should have just said, okay. How about four years eighty so come on? Let's go put a volley right there behind Paxton in front of Tanaka behind Severino man to work for you guys to work. That's what you should be doing. And then there's the Jason stark wrote this about shifts on his athletic calm. I wanna read to this stuff because you know, I hate the shift. I I cannot stand the shift. It's brutal. And I understand why it works. I understand why it's employees. You know, why it's because it works. It's kind of the opposite of that that that line from liter own. If baseball was easy. Everyone would do it the heart is what makes it great. You know what I mean? So it works. That's why they employed, and it's it's legal. It's within the rules. But you know, what used to be legal and within the rules is hitting somebody right off the line of scrimmage. They changed it because it wasn't working anymore. Because the physical aspects of the game made it such that offenses. We're going to be strangling. And it's not just again, I understand. It's it's it's legal. I get it. I understand, but it's now being employed to an absurd level. I'm gonna read you these numbers from Jason star, Colin did you read this. I can only imagine according to he's a an organization called sports info solutions. Do you.

Bryce Harper sweepstakes could heat up at winter meetings

"Remember the days, right? It's out of Thursday morning. Friday morning is the rule five draft and that ends the proceedings there at the winter meetings. But when you get it. The winter as he got everybody in one place Arab Vegas, and they're going to be all packed into one hotel. And you know, every you have front offices up in a sweet, and they meet every day, basically live up there. You got the reporters walking the hallways. Really unique kind of set up something like MLB network will have their whole studio set up in the middle. Guess wouldn't be in the middle of the game floor there. But in one of the wings of the casinos. So it'll be. Rumer central and that job is everybody talks every little thing becomes a big rumor in typically, we talked about Jayson stark a little bit earlier tonight. You don't always have a whole lot of action at the winter meetings, especially early on and sometimes it will build up. But a lot of big moves already here as Paul Goldschmidt is traded for by the cardinals the Mets with their big move. In fact, they every single one of the teams in the NFL as except the Marlins is already had a big strike so far this off season. But where I am curious now is what happens with Manny Machado and Bryce Harper. The Yankees did not get Patrick Corbin. We have all this money to spend. I gotta take the Yankees are going to end up with one of those two and the Phillies you'd figure it'd be the landing spot for the other the national spend a lot of money on Corbin out. They get puts them out on Bryce Harper. But we just haven't seen them tied to. That many teams every fan base. I guess want Machado one Harper, but the actual teams and the rumor mill really has it started on them yet. And it's been the rest of the free agent market. It's been you know, kinda pick that to to this point Soviets Tennessee starting up on Sunday as to what the Mets still need to accomplish. Even after the deal this week had a chance to catch up. "Wondering if it's going to be a distraction. Right? What help. The guy has a whole setup a whole setup. It's not like that that that TV show the shop again on HBO. It's not like LeBron set up the lights in the camera. Right. Down. He might have booked some of the people. I mean, I'd imagine so. Okay. Sometimes I booked people. You're on this show. Okay. Odell. Jon Stewart just doesn't show up anywhere. Right, exactly. Okay. So I mean, but will that take away from his basketball playing? I think he wants to prove that he can do it all and understands that the underpinning other all is as basketball career and. Bear with me here on this analogy. Okay. You've heard of the weekend warrior, right? Yes, weekend warrior is businessman. Businesswoman. Monday through Friday, locked in on business, and then on the weekend, does something recreationally just as hard as they do their job, their business, correct? Yes. They're hammering out there weekend. Warrior recklessly softball league name it. They're weak. They are the weekend warrior. Well, how about LeBron James is taken it and reverse? He's the athlete whose weekend warrior stuff is the entertainment business. He's a weekend warrior producer host actor and it's not like he's going to, okay, we're playing the warriors Tuesday and we've got the rockets on Thursday. I am so gonna shoot that Space Jam scene in front of the green screen with Bugs Bunny on Wednesday. I'm just going to hammer that in there really. And his business is basketball and everything else outside of that is his weekend, warrior stuff, recreation that's business, and he wants to dominate their to. He's kind of the first ever. Athlete CEO while still being an athlete, who else is done what he's doing right now. So he's kind of like if you're the weekend warrior in your business world on your softball diamond or your Jim ereck league, you're working out whatever. He's kind of doing it in reverse and wants to show you that he could do it in this town for that franchise. That's got all those trophies. And if you're telling him to shut up and dribble, it's at your peril. How about that for take. I like it. I think the questions arise when you look at the basketball point of view of this is such a young team, there's a lot of unknown. Should he be focusing as much energy on all of this other? Not we don't. I'm just saying that's what the perspective is from people asking these questions just because we have trouble multitasking washing. And again, it's not like he's the one. Doing it all by himself. You know what? He's might do all by himself. Thirty seconds to go. That's what he's going to do all by himself. Hi game down to down one. That's what will do by himself because that's what let's see. Right? Who's right and who's wrong. I'm not actually worried about any of the off the court stuff I'm worried about who's going to control the basketball. They have three point guards on this team, including Bron himself. I'm more worried about the basketball point of view. I think that's going to be fascinating. You have set up the Rajon Rondo samba that we're about to hear an hour number three. Okay. Our poll question is which team that's currently undefeated gonna last the longest as the undefeated could the Miami Dolphins keep the champagne on ice. They could not really according to everyone. Let's all right. We'll get that. And John Schneider very good Waylon Jennings to us out. In our number two. Number three, we're going to do it live with John Schneider news, update your calls. "So how many athletes did you find out watch soap operas when you were on? It was crazy. I mean, I got into the game and you know, and I, I knew about soap operas in high school just because the girl friends, they would run home at launch and watch, said beach, Santa Barbara, and all those shows that I wasn't really into the soap. But you know, as a teenager, he followed the girls around, then I get on a soap and I'm in a club in l. a. I'm probably twenty four twenty five years old and Dion Sanders. Is there Cal Ripken juniors, they're, they haven't some end and I'm walking by and was Michael Irvin and so I'm walking by and I'm starstruck. I'm starstruck in this club with all these major. I mean legends just Dan in there and I'm walking by China like mine mome business because like I'm just not near as cool as these athletes and I wasn't, but I just saw, I'm just kind of scared by and Dionne goes. Gel be Joe. That's Malcolm. That's Malcolm from the stories that's mountain from stories. Michael Irvin was like, it is a commute up commuter. You'd be messing with that drew Silla you'd be messing with that. Due and and I'm sitting there like looking late is this really happening and they were only late y'all, you are. The bureau demand wasn't like to work. What are you doing? Kissing scenes withdrew Sylla. And that was like I was like, y'all watch young and arrests. They man, we know tell us all we do man, right after practice. We watch the stories and I was just like bugging out. And then through the years, it just more and more Meryl Streep, watches, criminal minds, the wrestler actor. With no nine and a half roared watch. So watch months, right? Yeah. So I mean, just but it was just nuts to me that these athletes were like stuck on stupid when it came to the number of times that things happen in locker rooms clubhouses NFL like it's like a soap opera, and you're wondering where these guys pick it up from they watch actual all Oh yours. yes, sir. Baseball players in particular because they're on the road three games cents. Wake up in the hotel room. Eleven AM twelve o'clock, one o'clock, whatever got a blog kind of Email thing back in the day before the social media from Cal Ripken junior. What he's he watches young and restless and he has a crush on Phyllis or somebody. It is. Amazing. It is absolutely. So I know you're from the Oakland area. Yeah. We talked about this before and when you came on the last time, are you concerned at all with the outset of the NBA income in that somebody's coming for the crown was the fight with my family all the time. I'm half black, half white. The black side of me is Oakland, and the white side of me is Boston. So born in Oakland, I grew up Ricky Anderson fan, Oakland as I. But then I had to pick between the as the raiders the Niners and the giants. I was at battle of the bay when the earthquake hit. So I've got my my family in Boston's all about patriots, Tom Brady everything, Celtics, all out of the stuff. So the splash brothers here now and you know, k. d. the whole crew. I mean Klay Thompson Steph dream on killing the game, killing the game, but the Celtics are coming. The Celtics coming in, my family keeps reminding me that come coming because they they, they were deep David decent last year. They were just too young and inexperienced take it the rest of the way. So and injured two, you know, an. Injured too, you know with so and I know you're, you're talking his language over there. That's a big time Celtic fan. Yeah, thing about the warriors is, you know, when you win a lot, you get a little complacent. You know, he started, you know, you just, you got the money. You got the rings. He get a little comfortable, you don't. You don't work quite as hard as us to nothing lasts forever. But I think I think they if they, if they stay focused, they got a good three or four years now, the team, the team that has beaten. Okay. The warriors during this stretch the Cleveland Cavaliers right..

"Jay i agree with you with derek i think they went double digit games so the over unders at nine and a half and i'm clearly taking the under yeah couple couple overs here i feel like i do i feel like the mariners guy feel like the angels are going to are are going to feel like they're going to be there no i'm not saying they won't be there but the astros are just going to be there i feel like this is another one hundred oneseason easily for houston yeah yeah the pitching dude that content off can i share a little nugget on the mariners and that we can move what's yeah what's the clock say are you fucking fuck it's five thirty five this is the shortest one we've done yeah okay mariners real quick you brought up windy as edwin has allowed one run in fifteen and a third innings if you take him out of the mariners pitching equation all of their other pitchers have posted an ira over five in two hundred thirty two thirds combined not great all right l central the nl central god damn it was nice being on top for a little while nice the mountain top was nice i mean they're still there go as time that recording this the cubs and the brewers are tied for first place in the nl central did i maybe get a little too excited about the bruce maybe but we're underdogs underdogs we're not supposed to be worldbeaters like the cubs the cubs were supposed to be in first place the brewers were not supposed to be in first place we finished a game out of the wildcard spot last year we were supposed to be knocking on that door for a wildcard spot and then getting it never said anything about in the division this is not a division winning team the cubs are the best team in the nfl central fact have they play like it to start the year.

Jay derek mariners astros edwin ira cubs brewers bruce houston nfl
