"Where you guys are way. Deep on this man, dollar black have no clue what's going on over there. Well, look when you're a certain age, you're watching of we didn't have computers. That's true. I didn't have a computer. I could start surfing stuff on watched. We watched the television. What was ever on TV in the peach pit in nine hundred eighty one hours right there? All right. Big time. I remember Rockford files. That's. An old show. Of course. Those were great Jay hood loves Rodney hood, no one loved the rock DAL, Simon and Simon were. Topnotch show steel. Oh, yeah. That was what's his name peers progress? Yeah. Now, we're talking. Yeah. In the. How was the selling was on the Jumbotron at the bulls game yesterday? Let's see very. Max having been a headlock. Her like run up. Yeah. I thought he'd put him to sleep role. Sorta like the Benny popcorn which is a bit. Like like, hey, look at your Keats on get him on the the Jumbotron. And then all of a sudden packs puts me this sleeper sleeps. Goes crazy leather shampoo. That'd be Jim Boylan doing a nice job at developing these players. He did I say. Offense. You see them play defense, but that can come next year. Candidates baby steps coach of the year candidate live right there. Baby seal why printed shirts. These guys. So this guy is tearing it up the last Adam silver needs to get on a call with all of his officials say guys, and this is the extent of it. Don't be dumb. Yeah. That's it and hang up the phone. And I think they'll get the point that was ridiculous. Yes. Ridiculous. And we were there to see a lot of. Long. Of course, you are. It's exactly why you were there. You're right. On the right teams are saying we're there to see law marketing. Out of the game. I mean years ago that was part of the campaign. Come see. Yeah. Alan iverson. Yes, while they were really putting up numbers right now. That are Iverson ask. Comparison to Iverson's numbers last six weeks have been out of this world Everson was never that good from buying the car. Somebody was always finishing at the railways Iverson lived at the rent. I was saying from the scoring is back. But the thing that the reason why I wasn't telling you that Steph curry was I mean, I'm not telling you the trae young was going to be Steph curry always shied away from that. But why people said that he was going to be a bust. If you watched it last year, you eighteen year olds don't lead the country in scoring and assists. People didn't understand how much better Knicks just average players that Oklahoma team was not good. No. They were not in a lot of the guys he's playing with on Lanta land. He stinks. Trae young is getting an easy lay Boston till this year. But but he's getting guys open Lux because he's good, and he's making people Lowry needs Lowery needs a point guard. To shoot, the if you had a point guard like that where you get teams alive in pick and roll he and John Collins. I mean, like they'll kill teams even because like Sylvie said done is not good and picking Roka's teams. Just don't respect him at all. There's just they don't guard him. It's it's tough to accomplish what you want to accomplish. But you're right because of trae Young's ability to shoot. And that's the one thing that you figured at the very least till in the week is that ball comes out of his hand so quick and he can shoot from anywhere. But his ability in pick and roll situations can be king devastated defense. He's he's not gonna play defense. He'd made now. My side know, but if he can pour, you know, mid twenties and give you ten eight nine some nights tennis game. He can shoot man. I mean my gosh. Yeah. Longo? Well, again, the Friday night game was the sneaky game. Yeah. We're I talked about and what to watch for that was going to have it on TV too. I was going to put on the Nippon economy is great the dock the documentary, and I got too much later because all of a sudden this bull's game turned into a barn burner. Then you were committed for for four overtimes is ridiculous. I can I tell you the bunny Connie thing all my God. Right. I now I knew Nick bona Connie just from inside the NFL. I know all the history. I didn't know how he was so GAM small. Is a linebacker. I did not know all these. Don shula. Thank you. If even if you have no clue about who. Nick on county as I played it for my wife over the weekend. I go there's about this guy who is in the NFL hall of fame and his family and everything that he's done in his life, and I didn't know about the tobacco stuffer. Andre Dawson's agent. Dawson's AJ had no idea. It was one of the best things I've seen in the last two months and one of the best fundraisers. Yes, unbelievable last several decades for his son five hundred million to give too much away. But if you don't even if you don't know much about Nick, Connie Yuma. This this is a must watch a must watch for sports fans and the point it is you're right. The poignant part of it is the point they make for all that football gave him. It's taken a lot away from the guy. I mean, it's just been an incredible was a tough watch my wife, first of all because her mom and dad were very very have been very close with the bonnet Connie's for years because they were teammates in New England for years. They did a couple of things together. I think they at times vacation together, my mother-in-law than new his his known his second second wife, and he's struggling with some things at my father-in-law age of eighty five is not nearly in the same situation but struggles with as well, and it's it's a tough. Watch is really powerful and very very very well done. Well, done HBO. Always does what those died. The sports documentaries and get leave Shriver is never a bad thing. By the way last night. If I could just veer to the TV watching I watched two things that were polar opposite last night like watch polar. I started. It looks. No. But last night, we the two things polar opposite. We watched some the Michael Jackson stuff. I couldn't stay with it. It was so disturbing. You know what I mean? And then and then I went to the Cutty. Oh. Two things that are like one thing that will just wear you out. And we'll make you sick to your stomach and here comes Cutty every time Cutty comes on the screen. He gets out of that big SUV. I just start giggling light up. I start giggling. I I mean, he is so funny people seem to like it. I watched the Blackhawks last night. I did not want to Cutler thing. Yeah. That was bad to either. I do periods were okay. Eight points out. Yeah. Overdone after last weekend. But you know, me I still like going back to that. Michael Jackson thing. Same response. I had. When I was watching the kidnapping show. Yeah. Accepted in plain sight. I mean, the parents what were what were you thinking? What are you thinking parents? I don't know what I mean. Listen, I'm not going to win any awards for being father of the year by wife so much better parent than I am. But I think we've got a pretty good feel for kind of race and kids you get the hang of it deaf. Are you thinking about I mean that was my? I did this family leave this kid. Their first feeling was I feel so bad for these these children that were so horribly abused? And then my second thought was was anger and rage. What the hell are you doing? And he was like the thing that struck me is just how depth they went with the repetition. And I was like please end in forty minutes. 'cause I can't take it was too much for me. I couldn't do too much of a Downer -solutely so unbelievable. But yeah, the we're gonna play some of the Cutty highlights. Are you going with us to the hawks game on Thursday? Yes. Emceeing an event one hundred hundred men who give a damn yes, we've got another event at think we're doing to the same place at the gino's. I got a double check that. It's on my Twitter timeline that Carmody Felker. If you follow me can go there first. And then I'm going to meet you guys over there. Yes. So we're why would Pap oil was in for Waddell on Thursday, and I told boil this. We're gonna go behind sharpie and boil them. No, we're we're we're going to hold the sign up that says because he was. Was telling us that the ratings are higher. When sharpie does the post game shows and everything like that surprise the Patrick cougar club. And then on the bottom. It says snow leopards, welcome. And we're just gonna. Turn around and punch. Here. He said he said, it's unbelievable. He sat because you don't wanna be holding that sign though, do I'm not here. She sharpy cougar Klay was telling us because of the Russell Westbrook story where the fan touched the kid. So he says Boyle said that fans reach over and try to hot sharpie just the women are trying to touch his hair. Oh, I can imagine. I mean, they just want to run their fingers to his that. Ms. And he and Berge her out there. I mean, it's handsome good looking crew. What a group I said, I that's how came up with Boyle. I said back in the day. There was no taller broadcast booth. And the bulls Tom doors, the play by play guy was six eleven and then Johnny red Kerr with them that pound for pound with the guys they have on the Blackhawks pre post game. It may be the best looking post game. Yeah. I was going to say don't sell Steve Conroy short either. Yeah. Well mayors. Yeah. The handsome latte himself from Michigan clunker looking group of men. Looking forward to that. Come back down to they're not as good as they were in the. Jack Eichel and now Rosman Mr. lean. Yeah. I'm hoping to this last week. We've all committed. Nobody knows you're gonna be playing. I am not going to be able to make. I can't. I got another engagement unfortunate. What do you have something else? Sorry. Missing another engagement. We'll miss you. You're right. You guys miss me. Like, you miss a hole in your head. Yeah. No. I'll miss you chatty. Don't pretend. So it was a busy weekend. The bulls rebuild. Are you starting to feel more optimism now than angst? Is it turning is this thing turning the problem is in the NBA? We know alternately like this would without a another great player. This is probably still just like a five seed that gets. And then Marantz now talking like, maybe John Marin is a better player for Lowery. Maybe Sylvia's right there, you need that point guard that you can they need somebody that they can better play in pick and roll with when he's on Sylvie said because. Dottie else better. Yeah. So we'll shooter that makes I was time to to other bulls fans yesterday the United Center, and I was the optimist of the three. Wow. I gotta bring up the discussion point that we were talking about the full circle here. You Darvish says he feels as well as he's ever felt the Kris Bryant leftover interview from Friday will refresh. If you missed that Bryce Harper's press conference, would you sit LeBron? And did you guys hear Louis Riddick? We all want..

Robert Kraft could face disciplinary action from NFL after prostitution charge

"NFL the story Mike that we're keeping our eyes on the last day and going into our second day here in that is regarding what has happened with Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots as reported by SPN Robert Kraft is facing charges of misdemeanor solicitation of prostitute. After he was twice videotape paying for sex act at an illicit massage parlor in Florida on Friday, a craft who sivy seventy years of age was one of twenty five people involved in the alleged solicitation at the orchids of. Asia day spa in Jupiter Florida craft has denied any wrongdoing. The potential charges come amid a widespread crackdown on sex trafficking in Florida from Palm Beach to Orlando hundreds of arrest warrants have been issued in recent days as a result of a six month investigation and more are expected. So my initial reaction to this story, Mike is I think about Robert Kraft at age seventy seven, and I think about other owners that have put themselves in this in this very precarious situation. Whether it's deals with drugs with it deals with stories like Robert Kraft in the thing that resonates with me. The most is no matter how much money and how much privilege that you have. You are not above the law. And we know that there are circumstances that were a sports figure or someone that has power and money can be able to overcome things we have seen this in sports entertainment for generations with the point is. Is that doesn't make it? Right. And what's happening here is not necessarily slings arrows at the patriots or Tom Brady or their championship legacy because it's not about football. It's not about what's on the field. It's about an owner that has been charged with doing something selfish something to satisfy himself on several occasions on videotape as well, by the way. And I just it just makes the NFL look bad and makes the the patriots organization look bad because he's the face of it someone who's fighting Roger Goodell back and forth about the bounty gate, and this, you know, or or, you know, all the issues that's going on with the patriots. Deflategate. Bottom line is. And is that at seventy seven you gotta realize your public figure what you're doing was wrong. I mean, you you summed it up perfectly right there Jay hood is that you know, the fact that Robert Kraft is the owner of the New England Patriots. He is, you know, the guy responsible for Bill Belichick and also Tom Brady and all the players coming in the signing. The check everything you gotta realize it just because you are an owner, and you have googled and Google's of money does not mean, you can get away with whatever you want. And the fact that there's you know, allegedly to videos, Mr. Kraft's at this at this spa. It doesn't look good for him. It doesn't look good for New England Patriots. And I can. Yeah. I'm anxious is anxious to see how Roger Goodell in the NFL are going to handle this once everything is done legally and the legal system. Besides. What direction they're going to go with things what Goodell is going to do as far as a punishment for Robert Kraft? Let's go to Ryan Smith. He does a great job on the legal side of things we see them when outside the lines all the time. Ryan Smith talking about Robert Kraft's legal defense. There has to be some sort of agreement for this to be something that he can be convicted on and not only that there has to be some sort of consent. He says this was a consensual sexual act, then he will not be convicted on then that becomes his defense. So maybe what's being set year is despite what they feel police that they have in evidence. Bob Kraft might be saying this is a consensual act. Of course, we don't know yet. But that would be one of the biggest defenses to this chart. Also, some thoughts from Adam Schefter talking about how from the NFL standpoint. How craps got the deal with the NFL consequences? No matter. What happens legally is in all probability going to have to take action. Because the league is talk about Tommy time. Again, anybody who brings unwanted attention to the NFL which with this would be qualified as would be subjected discipline? Now, you're talking about a man was billions of dollars morning not a factor in terms of what do we could do to discipline them in terms of the penalty time away from an inordinate? Jason ate lunch would be something that is going to have to look at. Also, Jeff Darlington had some thoughts as well. And this is an interesting thought here from Jeff talking about how crafters involved with solicitation, necessarily trafficking. Robert Kraft is not being charged with anything to do with human trafficking. At this point. It is solicitation of prostitution. It is a misdemeanor. So right now, we're talking about misdemeanors as it pertains Robert Kraft, again, an incredibly uncomfortable conversation, but one where we need to make clear delineations. Is from Jeff Darlington. Mike, not not uncomfortable for me. I don't know about you not uncomfortable. Found uncomfortable because because once again. No matter how much you make and how how much generational wealth. You have. You are a face of a franchise, and you don't have the wherewithal to understand that because you public face. Everyone knows who you are that you figured that you want to do something because you have the privilege to do. So you think you can just go into a place like this this orchids of Asia's day spa. And do what you like. And that doesn't work that way. No matter how much money you have money will only take you so far. And again, I mean, you know. This is a step by step process on how everything's going to be done. And I'm just curious on what Mr. Kraft's halfses has to say. I mean, I know they you know, they released a statement yesterday. You know, denying that they've done anything wrong and stuff. But at some point, you know, a statement only go so far. So I wanna hear, you know, just just as simple thoughts from Mr. Kraft's. I'm being in this situation. I mean, you know, I is he embarrassed by it. I mean is he mad? I mean, just why why why I if the video turns out to be true that he's under twice. Why why was he even there? I mean, there's just so many questions that remain answered that likely Mr. craft is the only one that can answer Dickerson and hood on ESPN radio and ESPN app. If you're looking for what's happening with Robert Kraft is not a comfortable for you. Not to talk about you know, some comfortable was uncomfortable with sex trafficking. That's uncomfortable. And that's what's unfortunate as the store. Says the SPN dot com. The potential charges come amid a widespread crackdown on sex trafficking in Florida from Palm Beach Orlando you, and I'm not saying that he was involved in that. But he's, but he's part of on this list of people that were part of of the this misdemeanor that he's been charged with solicitation of prostitution. So that actually is more of a broader conversation that was happening Robert Kraft because it's not like we haven't seen owners put themselves in a in a bad light for the organization because you being in Indianapolis representing ten seventy in Indianapolis, you have covered Jim Irsay the owner of the colts going through sobriety tests and drugs and driving. While intoxicated. That was quite a story for you to cover back and fourteen. It was definitely it was it was a huge story. I mean with the earth say, you know, you know, having to get some counseling done and everything I mean, you know, I it wasn't about the story. Didn't go from. It wasn't just Jim earth. The owner of the Indianapolis Colts jimmer say the person, you know, could he overcome, you know, the issues he was dealing with the person would he, you know, stick, you know, be able to not be able to avoid going down that path to get down the road, which, you know, all indications are he's been fine since then I mean, the NFL handed down the suspension, but I will tell you now once this happened in the March of two thousand and fourteen nothing was resolved for the NFL until September wants Jim Irsays legal case guide done, but up at debt does that would six five six months of it. That's all that was talked about. It was not about Andrew lucked the football player and the colts, you know, continuing to build on their success there eleven and five the from two thousand thirteen it was all about Jim mercy. And that I expect the same thing that happened in New England is not going to be about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick relationship is gonna retire would not it's going to be all about. Robert Kraft, and what happened? Earlier

"The ESPN app. Welcome Jay hood got the night off red Hilton near Chris black in with you for a short show till ten o'clock. Actually, these shows are always add sultana just we had basketball before us. So that's what you get. Sometimes we've got more basketball coming up later in the week. We got some next week. It's big time. Christopher college hoops. They're all gearing up for that March madness run. Absolutely. And you said a short show, but we have a lot to discuss tonight on now only in the NBA we have some late breaking news with Victor, oil depot, that's hurt. His right knee tonight Adrian wargin. Now ski has already said the Pacers are expecting him to be out for the rest of the season update that as we go throughout the night talk MBA, but major league baseball's in the news free agents. Have they signed are there any free agents to sign gonna sign before training camp spring training? They're going to be last year. Darvish Sidon on February thirteenth and JD. Martinez. Who had a monster year? Signed on February twenty first. So I got a feeling they're going to be waiting quite a while. So we're going to talk a little bit of baseball. We got David Schoenfield from ESPN. He will join us around nine ten also Sam amick, you will talk some NBA with us. He's from he's the senior writer over at the athletes. A lot of NBA. The bulls are going on right now. But I figured most people are watching. Because they are. They just hate themselves. Right. Yeah. I started watching upstairs. I I looked at Sean Sean Davis. And and feelings Ray has our producers I looked at China. Atlantis NASCAR forty. They did they scored forty two. I think in the first quarter of the bull's rally down by six sixty six to sixty. So we will talk almost nobles. We'll talk a little bit probably would Sam joins us because you know, Carmelo Anthony's inactive tonight. So yeah. And then both post game coverage at nine thirty. Yeah. We'll have MBA talk. We'll talk about the bulls. Then a stick with us. Also, I have ten ideas to fix over time in the National Football League for you, Fred. So I've got. Ideas. I will throw them at you. You will say yes, or no, we'll do that a little bit later. But I wanted to start you off with major league baseball. The hall of fame announcement was yesterday. What are your thoughts on Marietta Rivera getting in and the others with them? I thought they all deserved it. Edgar Martinez nicest guy, get in even though you as a D H most of his life, so many people David hesitated with Frank Thomas. Well, always a D H. You can't play. Well, guys that are relief pitchers early relief pitchers guys that are starting pitchers hard hitters. So they play one position in a designated hitter. In the American League is a position. So I never had a problem with that. Edgar Martinez right holiday had had a stretch for like a ten years in the NBA where he was like a hundred and seven games over five hundred. I mean, it's crazy. The interesting thing to me is at Curt Schilling was at sixty point nine percent, Roger Clemens fifty nine point five Barry Bonds, fifty nine point one. And we're gonna Jeff passan was on earlier today. We're going to hear some some soundbites from him. But I've this aggravates me in every year every time there's a hall of fame voting except for the NBA because basically, it's just the Basketball Hall of fame, and nobody even knows how it works or what? That's how it was basketball players. Golfers go, it doesn't matter where you played. What you did any of that stuff? You just go, right? Here's here's my opinion. I tweeted this out earlier, and I've gotten some people reacting to it. Here's my new role for baseball hall of famers, and I tried to change it a little bit. Because so many people said, well, you can't do that. What are you gonna do with their other players? So from from this date forward. Okay. From this day forward, you can only get in on your first year of eligibility. The only way you can get in your first year of eligibility. You're not good enough in your one if they don't deem you good enough to be hall of Famer near one you never get in stats your stats. Never go up after you retired. And you're retired for five years, your stats don't change. So if you don't if you're not good enough. Then you're not good enough ever. Sorry. Rod santo. Sorry. Harold baines? Sorry lease Smith, but it'll be a little bit different. Now. Everybody most of the voters you can vote for up to ten and everyone says, well, what about the other guys? Well, here's my I finally let it those. That are still eligible right now everybody eligible they have next year to get in the ballot next year. If you're if you're a baseball writer America next year. Vote for thirty if you want, but it's the last time you get to vote for any of the guys that didn't get it was the last time is I'm looking at the list here is the last time you can vote for bonds or Walker or viviscal or front of mcgraff. Okay. Jeff cantor, Billy Wagner. Todd helton. Gary Sheffield Ramirez next year. Yeah. Next year last year, you can vote for any of them. Okay. You can vote for as many as you want. After that. You'll only only guys that are eligible their first year of eligibility. Get in now baseball it'll never happen because baseball despite what they think baseball loves this conversation. They love. This guy belongs this doesn't belong. This guy should get in. Why didn't he get in? All this other stuff. The thing that I know you guys talked about it a little bit this morning. I nobody was talking about it. Well, you don't want to not right at various Rivera's, the first guy to get one hundred percent of the votes shut up. Who cares it? Greg maddux. Should've got one hundred percent of the votes. There's a lot of guys that should have gotten a hundred percent of and some junior, right? Some people. Are saying, well, you know, Babe Ruth couldn't get one hundred percent of the votes, then why should? The voters who were voting then were idiots to not put him in one hundred percent while he was on the bench. It just doesn't make any sense. And I I understand why some people do it and they're wrong for doing it. You get the opportunity to vote for hall of famers. And if you say, listen, this guy's going to get it. Anyway, someone to vote I'm not going to vote for him because everybody else will vote for him. Well, that ain't right because your your ballot look stupid because you said in a balance you send in a ballot that doesn't have a sheer fire hall of Famer at it. Yeah. Right. That doesn't make any sense to me. So I again, it'll never happen. But I'm gonna come up with the argument each and every year. It's just it's so silly. You know, the the veterans committee this year, the guy's got at least Smith and Harold Baines was a lot of controversy with Baynes got in because you know, how many people vote were into twelve people voted that was it. Yeah. I mean, it's also ridiculous. If you look at the names in baseball who are not in the hall of fame. And then you see that Harold Baines is in it doesn't make sense. A if you're a White Sox fans. Great to celebrate that but be real Barry Bonds is not in the hall of fame. He was fantastic. He was a hall of Famer in Fred, I actually love your new rule because I I'm I'm in the mindset that no matter what the hall of fame is it should be a snap decision. Right. You either. No one's a hall of Famer or you don't if you have to sit down in him in hall over whether or not the guy's a hall of Famer, he probably isn't right probably hall. Very good hall of famers to me are special. It should be someone. That's one one in generation someone that comes along every every decade or so not just because he was an all star for nine times. Or you know, what I'm saying? The might is interesting to me because he get seventy six point seven percent of the vote. Curt Schilling gets sixty point nine showing Bush by far the better pitcher. Why are we keeping him out because I know because of his political takes in nonsense. He does on Facebook. I agree. That's it. That is a that is a bad thing to do. I agree with that. We're talking baseball players. He was definitely. A better base. Here's the thing. I wanted to point to you you next year. They're jeeter's the surefire guy get outside of jeeter, the classes and very impressive. So is next year the year that you get a Clemens bonds into the hall of fame with Derek Jeter and the year after that twenty what is it twenty twenty one twenty is when a-rod comes available while at zero get into the hall of fame. Well, and a-rod came out and said earlier today he wants to see bonds and Clemens get into a hall of fame. He says, of course, I want them to get in because then he can. Same with Manny Ramirez. How do you vote for Manny Ramirez or a-rod if you're not gonna vote for Barry Bonds, and Roger Clements Jeff passan was on earlier today with Carmody Nyarko and talked a lot about the hall of fame. He talked about bonds and Clemens give it a listen. Well, they went from about fifty six percent fifty six and a half fifty seven percent to about fifty nine percent yesterday. So the leaps that they've taken from the first year when they were at something like thirty nine percent have gotten smaller and smaller, and what I did was because there are so many people who publicly put their ballots out there right now. And there's a there's a great tracker online that keeps tally of it. When the voting is going on. I went and looked at the the writers who probably put their ballots out there and did not vote for bonds or Clement, and I sent them all emails dams over over various mediums asking would you potentially change your mind and. What would cause you to change your mind and of the I've heard back from twenty three people now it was seventeen seventeen or eighteen at the time publication. I've heard back from twenty three people now and twenty of them said nothing can change their mind on the matter and that to me when when you look at the public versus private support for bonds and Clemens it's pretty staggering publicly. They had about seventy one percent each of the of the people who did not release their out the support was closer to forty five percent. So we'll talk more about this week come back bonds and Clemens and passing did a great job. And it's nice to have him back on ESPN. And we'll talk more about bonds and Clemens and the hall of fame. We'll also get to the overtime questions. We've got more baseball talk in the nine o'clock hour, Sam amick from the athlete. Join us at nine thirty lots to do black and Hubner infra Jay hood on ESPN one thousand coming up Thursday and Golic and wingo. We don't even need to play the Super Bowl Tom Brady. And the patriots are going to win it once again, right? We're gonna play book at plus tiger.

"Opener in for Jay hood under the hood here on ESPN one thousand the NFC and AFC championship games. The best Sunday of the NFL year. And we're going to talk about it right here on ESPN one thousand you heard from Bill Belichick. You can always tell him to monotone. Yeah. We're gonna do this. So excited for championships Sunday, we're thrilled very exciting. And and also Sean McVay who just south east got somebody poking him in the back. He's like Kozly we're gonna do this and this and this is going to happen. And we're going to do more of this. I'm all geeked up. But I can't wait another coffee. And then you get the mean between the two and it's Andy Reid. Yes, it is. Yeah. Any reads the quietest Sean Payton arguing with Marcus Peters. Now. They're both saying, oh, no, no. We we get along and all that kind of stuff. So there's all kinds of story lines and to talk more about it. We bring in San Monson from pro football focus 'em. How are you tonight? I'm doing good. How are you doing great? There are so many different angles for both of these games here. Let's start with the the NFC game. The Rams and the saints bowl teams. I it's funny. I read so much passing going on. Both teams have you know, two running backs both can run the ball and can both take over a game running the ball. You think we'll see a lot of the running game. Like we did last week or do you think it's going to be back to an air attack for these two teams? Yeah. It's a good question. I think it really comes down to walk kind of defense the saints in particular choose to run because you know, last week was the first week that we saw the Rams adjust from the game plan. The team started us defensively to take away the thing that the Rams wanted to they use all these play action. The run game for them is setting up this area on the jet motion and all of the stuff that they like to do they want to pass the ball. They want to get it down feel. So teams have started to flood the coverage zones. They started to basically dare them to run the ball against the lightweight. Fox's and the Rams hadn't done it yet. But the Dallas game was the first time. They did they made that adjustment. They figured out what was going on. And they went to plan B and that was to run the ball relentlessly. What Todd Gurley with Anderson, and that's really why those two were so dominant against that Dallas defensive fraud. This is balanced were kinda daring them to. Because they hadn't shown that they were going to do that yet. So I I don't know if the saints are gonna employ the same tactic because for the first time the Rams shown that if you give them that they will take it. And if they take it this is the team with the best run blocking offense of line in the NFL, according to PF grades. They got the number one and number two run blocking tackles in the league Whitworth on the left haven sign on the right? This is a team that can run the ball. Extremely well. If you give them the opportunity to do it Sam when you're breaking down filming in grading for pro football, focus, and you look at this Rams offense based on all the different hires that were made because of people who knew Sean McVay over this off season. Are we giving enough credit to his offensive genius mind? Or is it just a little bit overblown? How good he is as an offense of mine when you look at this Rams offensive scheme. I it may be getting a little bit carried away when you look at every coaching higher having some kind of connection to Sean McVay. But I think it's deserve. You know, this is a guy who has an incredibly good offenses. Jason. He's doing things that people criticize other coaches for Ben mcadoo was almost run out of New York because he was only ever running eleven personnel. People said well, the offense diverse enough, they're not doing enough different things. But Sean McVeigh basically runs only eleven personnel. And that's not the reason. The Ben MacIntyre offense wasn't working in New York. So you know, he's Joe McVay. I think has the system, and they she shown you clever things that do work. You don't need to get too creative with personnel groupings. You can run an awful lot of things within the same personnel group. You can have run play you can pass without actually setting up with the run game. Just the threat of play action works. There's a lot of smart stuff within this offense. That is working and has been proven to work. And I think that game last week was a real marker for them in terms of understanding the next step, you know, everybody or a lot of people can can run planet all day long. You know, and have it be successful. But what happens when a defense takes away planet, and you have to go to plan B can you adjust? And the greatest coaches, I think I've shown that they're able to adjust and they're able to go to a different thing. The thing. That's not what they wanna do the Rams hadn't done that yet. But last week they did. Tossed on for Sean mcgrady's coaching career Sam Matsen from pro football focus joining us here on ESPN thousand last week in the saints game. They came out, and they were just awful how much of that. Do you think had to do with them resting breeze in week seventeen and then having a bye week? And then trying to go on out there. They were at home. You would have thought they would have been prepared. They looked awful. Then all of a sudden they took over late in the second quarter. Yeah. I think a big part of that was the defense. They were playing, you know, the Philadelphia Eagles have the number one defensive front and all of football. They had the most total precious as a defensive any team the best win rate. The best pass rushing productivity. They were the best defensive front this year as well as a year ago. The problem for them is that the secondary wasn't anything like what laws laugh, even right? But they were able to get to the saints receivers basically getting physical at the line of scrimmage out, making them hold the ball a little bit longer and giving that defense. The front time to get home in a way. They didn't the first time they play. So. Yeah, I think you have to give a lot of credit to Philadelphia Eagles defence is really caused the saints. A lot of problems in that game. I think it was way more to do with that. Then it was any kind of ring rust for the saints have aggressive. Have you seen anything specific with drew Brees over the last five games? He's played in. He hasn't really put up the MVP numbers that he was doing earlier in the season kinda struggled at some points. Over the last five games. He's played. Yeah. He has. And he's he's just missed some throws. I don't think there's anything, you know, systemic in his play that that's a problem. He's just missed more throws and the ad earlier in the year. You know, only have to go back to those kinda tastes them hill. Plays back to back. Drew Brees, miss them. Pay some help may not be a devastating wide receiver. But he was wide open. Deep down the field and had a lot of room to work in and drew Brees left out ball way underthrown, and what should have been a pretty easy touchdown to taste hill. So we're just seeing I think a few more miss Ponce's from breathe I think hard about is. He was just playing this, you know, ludicrously high unsustainable level in terms of accuracy pass if he was making. So it was probably inevitable that he was gonna come back down to earth a little bit. At some point. You talked about the Rams offensive line. Is that the reason CJ Anderson's as good as he is after getting released this year by Carolina or the raiders did they just not give a chance because he looks amazing. Yeah. I mean, it it is hugely to do with the Rams offensive line. Look C J Anderson is a good running back. He's a guy. That's always graded. Well, a pro football focus right back from money. Started a Denver. He's a good quality player. But he was you know, essentially signed off the street. This is a guy when when you look when we dived into numbers when pro football focus gonna run metrics and all this kind of stuff the offense of line and the run blocking generally is a far far greater predictor of running success on the running back yet. So you can put a hall of Famer back there. The offense of line is a disaster. He's going to have real problems getting anything done. Conversely, we can put almost anybody back there. If the offensive line is good enough, and they're going to get decent production because the whole being opened or so big, and he has to try hard not to get production line that kind of often line. So all the way through the season. We've been saying that look the Todd Gurley. MVP talk was crazy because. Just look at the whole he's running through that they have the number one run blocking unit in all of football. And they are opening some massive holes for him. He's taking advantage of them. And he's making some plays on the back end. But his job so much easier than a lot of other running backs. And I think we're seeing that with C J Anderson Anderson is a good player. But again, those holes are there the production instead of seventy five percent done right back to sign running back gets the ball in their hat, and we talked about the Rams vino. They'll throw the ball earlier. The saints defense is going against that. They're ranked twenty second in defensive DB away. When it comes to defending the pass is the saints defense going to be able to stop this high powered offense for the Rams when they try and go down the field of play action. So again, I think it depends what kind of game plan they roll in there, which do they go with the same kind of plan. The Dallas did in Philadelphia and the bears have done before that instead of flood the coverage zones try and take away those icing play. Is knowing that. Now, you're opening up the run game. You're gearing the Rams to run. And now they're they've shown that they're prepared to do that in the past. You could do that. And the Rams hadn't shown they had an answer. But now they do if the saints game plan and a bit of a quandary. I don't know what the right answer is whether you still go out to take away plan. A and we sports into the thing they don't necessarily want to do. Or if you know that they have that answer. So you have to try and hedge your bets and play a little bit of both. If they do I think they're going to struggle to contain this passing attack because it is. So imposing I think one thing that that stand in their status at Marshon Lattimore has been a lot better down the stretch than he wasn't the first half of the season numbers are worse across the board..

"In Chris black, Fred Hubner in for Jay hood tonight here on ESPN one thousand we're going to get into the whole BUSTER only article about Kris Bryant, the headline cubs opened the trading third baseman, Chris Bryant feel Epstein is talk since then we'll discuss that a little bit later on March. Now's China's top the hour talk some NBA and talks some bulls basketball bulls get ready to play host to Cleveland Cavaliers team with one win bowls have three. Yeah. And in the break Friday, you're trying to get me fired up about Jabbar Parker. It's not gonna happen tonight. I told you in the summer he doesn't play defense. All right. I'm on. How many gets you fired up? About him being good. All right. Yes. Well, yes, it let's get fired up about the Chicago Bears is they are five and three and they look to the second half of the schedule and they get two straight home division games. Three in the next twelve twelve fourteen days. Let's put it that way. In to talk more about it. We go to the athletic. We always liked to do that and bring in Kevin fish brain. Kevin. How are you tonight? I'm doing great guys. How're you doing real? Well, it seems like all week long. The one main topic that bears fans are looking forward to is. Are we getting our guy back is Khalil Mack and be ready and raring to go. Apparently, he's ready to go. We have no idea what he's going to be like, they'll do we. No, we don't I it is a good sign that he was a full participant all three days in practice. It wasn't like a gradual limited limited or your day off your they're based on the injury report. And you can judge that as you will. He was forego Vic Fangio told us at Thursday will be a key practice for MAC to see how he handled the know coming off of his first practices. He seems fine. We talked to him today the locker room and really seems ready to go. I think that will be out a pitch count on Sunday. Maybe. And I think the fact that air legislation coming on strong a little bit could help the bears feel comfortable about that. But you guys this is somebody that in the first game of the season here that you know, he just joined the bears team that week having not played football for what the eleven months, ten months. And and we saw what he did in the first half and Green Bay. So I'm not wondering doubt what his capability is an ambitious how that ankle holds up. Do we have any idea why they switched him from the left side to the right side? Because it seemed like the first four games when he was making such an impact he was rushing from the left side. I thought I'd always switch a little bit. But not nearly as much the last couple of games. He played less throw the patriots game out. But in the Miami game, he was rushing for the right side. We know why that happened. Was there a reason or did they think one guy writes better from one side, and then the other? That's a good question. We just start to see a little bit more that we actually saw pretty much the entire patriots game. He was on that. But I think that was more of him dropping the coverage. And I think they were trying to plan an advantage situation with lender four than the other side of that didn't work out obviously it that game. But I feel like this Sunday might be a better indicator of what they wanna do with him. But yeah when he was making big plays. He was he was rushing from the west against an opposing right tackle. And that's what I'm expect for Sunday. But that's where he's going to be. I think that that the seen him on the other side in his recent two games. Maybe more of a way to mitigate Yankel and try to take advantage of getting somebody who healthier against the right tackle, Kevin since we're at the halfway point for the bears after eight games, if you take a look at the defense overall, how do you think they've done based on the expectations after we found out Khalil Mack was joining the team. Where would you great out this defense? Overall to this point. Yeah. I mean, pretty positively. You know, I I think what they've done in the last two games against exterior opponents has been real impressive. But if you're gonna look at the first apple seasons, the whole you can't ignore what happened to Miami. You can't ignore the bad tackling at the end of the patriots and Packers games because it really defense collapse cost them in week one. They didn't do all they did. Okay. Against the patriots. That was more of a special teams disaster. So that's why I can't necessarily give them a, you know, a sparkling a grade because those games are still there. They still those games, but just to see what they've done against buffalo. The judge to go back to what they did against Seattle. Just built the second third and fourth quarter in Arizona. You got to be pretty pleased with what the what this group is doing. And what's been remarkable to are the guys who are stepping up. Cow fuller is playing a high level. Even though he's got the contract, especially Bryce Kelly has been fantastic in a contract year Jackson's making plays that difference of wise been really really good the past few weeks danger is making more impact plays the past couple of seasons. So you're getting it from all sides, which I obviously I feel for that group. Roquan Smith is a guy that obviously we we were excited to get. And then the not so excited because he wasn't here. How do you think he's progressed? I mean, he had twelve tackles till the earth thirteen tackles till the NFL took it away from them. Gave it that Jackson for no apparent reason. After the game last week. How do you think he's progressing at that position? I think he's progressing. Well, I thought buffalo was an interesting game for him because he was pretty active. You mentioned the tackle total. You'll regardless of the stack correction he was obviously packed up. Betty Jackson scooping score. He was a beast in terms of covering the backs out of the backfield. But there are also a couple of plays that he kind of overran, and it's almost like I asked the linebackers coach Pires about enough. What they it's a good problem to have. You'd rather have a guy who's fast sometimes the guy because you can't teach speed, right? So sometimes roquan to kind of work balanced balance a little bit. So that he doesn't miss those tackles the other thing we wanna see him kinda team wants to see him continue to progress is coverage different coverages. Never he didn't play very much of that. Patriots. Game relative to what we're used to. And I think it was because they were playing so much coverage that game. They just didn't have to handle whatever they whatever they were trying to do against Tom Brady. So that's something. That's gonna be interesting because you know, Matthew, Stafford prototype it how does he handle that when it comes to covering up back in the flat? You know, you can count on them to do that he's gonna make a play. But when it comes to tight end or pick up a spy receiver coming across the middle. I think those are still things that he still has to improve. That's a fun thing about this guy like roquan Smith, he has the instincts. He has the hidden ability. He has the speed. It's just kind of understand how to harness all of that. And knowing his role the defense, and he's he's going to keep getting better with this group. You know, someone else in the linebacking corps and Leonard Floyd has been a disappointment to this point in his bears career. What do the team thing? What does the team think that they can get out of him for the rest of the way through and like what are the expectations for him as a finished product. Yeah. It's interesting because I I sense. A little frustration from them. Because they know he can do it. I think that they I if you ask them, they might tell you they think it might be a letter at now they still have a sack 'cause now like he's not getting into the backfield. He's been really good against the rod. He you see his you'll see him get towards the quarterback a few times where he kinda whiffed on one in buffalo last week. They could have been the first AC, and you could see maybe is go why they just just missed time to job instead of stay on the ground and making the play. This is a this is a bears office, and coaches depth. The really had I expect patients for him. I think they still think he's capable they're trying to figure out how could he finish better? That's what he has to do. He has to finish these plays. You're getting clear back. We'll see if that helps. But you're right now, you are you use a John FOX clan. You are what your record is for Leonard Floyd from his position. You are what your sack total a quarterback pressure. Total is and it's not good. Not good enough. For someone who is a top ten pick in his third season. And and you know, you can say the hand was an issue the first few weeks, but that should be healed by now. So he's gotta sorry. He used you can see he's in the right spot. You guys start translating that into impact Claes Kevin fish brain from the athletic, and Kevin I can tell you in covering the bears far too long. 'cause you're the first person I've ever heard give John FOX credit? What is it? The John Denver said Bill Parcells. So you have been covering the bears. But my my question is back the roquan just for a second because you've got roquan, and Danny trevathan, then any have Khalil Mack. And and Leonard Floyd, and if you have price Callahan and to be a fifth defensive back along to corners and your two safeties. Who sits I mean who sits when Callahan's in because you can't have you can't have twelve guys on the field. So do you play are they playing one less defensive lineman houses working? Yeah. It depends on the game. What was the patriots game? They went with three down linemen and database and as the one inside linebacker. I think that was a situation where they're just trying to get to the quarterback quickly and having that extra defensive lineman in those situations was a way to do that. But normally, and I think in a perfect world there. It's it's two in two two defensive linemen which the roquan Smith, and whether that's Akeem Hicks, Eddie Goldman or ROY Robertson. Harrison Nichols are John Boorda one. For the staff. They have a lot of defensive lineman arrived, right? That's one reason to make the argument that they should be in three D lineman. What is that linebacker situation? But you know, that's why I was kinda confused by that whole patriots game plan because they rely so much of some of those your quick hitting passes and throws over the middle. You would think you'd want an extra guy kinda patrolling that side of the field that part of the field. So you're you're the last two games. We we saw the bears play teams that did not want to throw it a lot. And they started throwing at what they were down this word on Sunday against why that is a team to likes to throw. It will try to throw it early most likely. So we'll get a good glimpse of what that game plan is and how roquan factors in probably lines. I drive it looks like Alan Robinson's gonna play this weekend. What should we expect from him? Yeah. Yo he went ahead and told us he was a hundred percent. And I got the five for that day that he didn't love the Robertson would have had it said he was hundred percent. But here's somebody who played really well that dolphins game of got forgotten about he put up solid numbers. But what was not in those stats was he drew two pretty big time defensive pass interference causes that game. He injured his groin in that game. Barely played in the didn't make an impact all the patriots game. And then of course, best against the bills and jets. So he was starting to come on in that game. I thought he played really well against the Seahawks. The season you could tell the bears and missed having that guy the outside 'cause you teams were starting to take care. Gabriel. Wait a little bit. Anthony Miller is going to be a great weapon for his offense. But there consistencies not there yet L Robinson just provide that reliable outside guy. Whether you know, if he's running a quick. Plan if he's running a quick out. There's so many different things that he can do. And I imagine that having him back just unlocks a few things because we didn't talk about so much, and we didn't really be too because the bears won so handled the last two weeks, but you wanna talk about a drop off mail Robinson. Sue, Josh Bellamy, Josh bell behavior. Like both bears fans. Are I think he's a lot better than people give credit for, but there's a massive massive drop off in one that we you know, that that kind of hampered what the bears could do in the passing game. I think having Robinson doctors kinda open things up for about that gives play college. Now, it's not going to be a big name coming back, but I had a chance to do a show with trae Burton on Monday. And at the end of the game last week. It was Trey Burton and Daniel Brown, and they had no other tight ends. And I know DeAnne SAM's is still going to be out Ron Eggers back after getting run over by a truck named Dante Hightower couple of weeks ago. Where's where's Adam Shaheen in? What should we expect with him? And when we we see him on the field. Yeah..

"Tweet Jay hood is coming down to the final seconds now Iowa with the ball, Wisconsin leading Iowa twenty eight to seventeen with twenty two seconds left in that when at Kinnock, but what happened here on ABC with Stanford in overtime coming down coming back from seventeen down at the half to win. Thirty eight to thirty one of Oregon that was a signature victory in a big way for Stanford. The question I would have coming into this game. And we're not doing pre post now. But I was wondering like when's the last time Oregon had a really decent victory against a decent team. I mean this year's version it's rolling, but it's played bowling green and Portland stadium and sandy end, San Jose State. So even though this game was at home for again. This was gut check to find out exactly what they're going to be all about. I mean last year, they beat Wyoming. I don't know if you consider that a great victory for Oregon a team that is on the rise. But this one was going to be tough. Because of how good Stanford has been. I think that you think about what Oregon was under chip Kelly and how they kind of are trying to rebuild themselves. This would have been a terrific win for them at home, especially being up seventeen. But to relinquish to lead the way they did against Stanford. Wow. I mean Stanford comes in. In unbeaten just like, Oregon. And the defense is stellar. The running game has not been there all season till you saw Bryce love come through in the game here today. Now looking at rice love eighty nine yards nineteen carries. This guy is a Heisman Trophy candidate. He had one touchdown. The running game was good for Stanford. Because of love the running game for Oregon was stellar because they had a hundred and seventy eight yards on forty eight on forty nine carries at three touchdowns. They get running game. But when they need to be able to hold onto that victory. They could not they fell short in overtime thirty eight to thirty one. So we keep our eyes on that as well. How about Oklahoma? My good friend Jim Ross the WWE hall of Famer. I know he listens to ESPN radio, especially when he's leaving games. And is a big fan of the network. I know that even though he's happy with the victory. I know he can't be happy with the presentation that the Sooners put out there, boomer sooner they won. But they won an overtime to army twenty eight to twenty one Cuyler Murray. Threw a ten yard touchdown pass to cease a CD, lamb and overtime at Parnell. Motley. Tell them the Hopkins fourth down pass to help the number five Oklahoma Sooners escape with that victory. It just shows you as good as Calum Murray is as good as Oklahoma. Is you just never know. Army comes into Norman, you never know what you're gonna get. And then Oklahoma comes through this here of now from the sooner sports network from learfield. How that happened?.

"Dot com tweet jay hood also on the facebook while facebookcom glad you're with me we will have some football coming up at the top of the hour here on espn one thousand that you enjoyed your fourth of july a c you guys on snapchat as well snap jay hood you follow me on snapchat i will follow you back guaranteed erin collins says i agree with everything you said but my problem with lebron back in twenty ten was how he handled the decision that was bush league also is it a good or bad thing that the association does not have a balance of power with a tile likely coming out of the west well here's the thing the one thing about the nba that's different from the nfl and different major league baseball is is at the nba is based on dynasties going back to the nineteen forties with the minneapolis lakers it's always been about super teams or it's been about talent late teams that continue to add you can go back to the nineteen forties and look at the minneapolis lakers elegant the celtics and look at the the lakers and look at the bulls look at the san antonio spurs and even the may dynasties teams that won a couple of championships like the pistons or like the miami heat or harvey look at it the point is is that this is not little league where you get a trophy and you'll get a trophy you get a trophy and even if you're in second place you get a trophy and you it's not about that the league has been based on dynasties for a long time we're just stuck right now in the golden state ura of the nba so if you really take a look at this league for real for real the league is really based on the celtics and lakers for over seventy years it really has been even when both teams have been down that's always been based on how they can build themselves to a championship form the bulls won their six championships and keep in mind that one the bulls when their championships while you might have been rooting ford there's markets all over this country that hated it hey jordan hated the idea that the bulls were just winning all the championships eight six thousand eight years unheard of right in the same thing with the spurs in there harvey look at the spurs it wasn't necessarily back to back but they had a reign of the western conference for a long time either in the mix or winning championships so the point is is that the idea that well you know the league is just based on the western conference and you know the the league is tilted of to the west when it comes to championships well i mean we've seen this before this isn't anything new we got to get out of the moment and talk about well let's what happened in two thousand eighteen i wanna change well i mean this has been like this for a while now in the nba as far as the browns decisions concern i didn't have a problem with it because it that same night that lebron james made his decision raise money for kids in connecticut i know maybe it's unpopular for me to bring it up because it doesn't resonate with you but lebron james is now building a school in akron for for kids in his own hometown again more good things he's doing but yet they decision because continues a stick in your your acros it s i don't get it i don't get it he decided that he wants to go to miami made this announcement raises money for kids in connecticut but yet he's the bad guy whatever i don't actually that's not such a bad thing 'cause i think sports always needs a good guy bad guy you want to see the the guy with the team or the guy with the white hat the team the guy with the black cat people are finding negative things to say about the going say worries why because he continue see them in the championship way of course you're gonna look at them in a negative way because it's not your team and that's how sports goes as you are listening to under the hood with childhood here on espn.

"The nfl dot com and espn childish gambino 's this is america video is a beautiful nightmare if you have not seen this video he put the link out there are twitter dot com tweet jay hood and clinton joins me here on espn one thousand and the espn app see why john thanks so much for joining me gobi hugo me quickly i agree with you on shack i don't love him dropping his resume on the table but there are scenarios in which it actually makes a difference which is the attitude towards a coach and the relationship between a coach and a player specifically in high tension postseason moments don't feel that he needed to drop his there there are occasions when it makes sense but he whips it out one too many times a month for my personal desires there i thought it made a cat a little bit of sense but there are situations where does the dude where he's too sensitive to have at the party by you tell him like oh i'm just gonna chill and all of a sudden you're on a party and he's at the crib because you can't keep him around because he's too sensitive for the conversation changed his music he gets upset anyway clinton before we get into your your column which i thought was wonderful that's i had to have you on to talk about this i know your big baseball guy so tell me this as you look at the state of the game in two thousand eighteen we saw the numbers in april about for the first time ever we saw more strikeouts than hits which is amazing the history of baseball what do you see the state of baseball right now well in regards to that that i think there's a part of it that's a little misleading well to the sort of naked i that's something that is distressing i think from what's more important to me the president strikeouts in hits with this simple matter of balls put in play now when you're watching the game and you think about pace of play you think about what it is that baseball is now in terms of how it moves and whether or not people think it's exciting or not that to me is the.

"I want to get your thoughts i was going to get your overview of the first month of the season for the cubs coming in to his game today thirteen and ten how would you characterize cubs baseball in the first month a little uneven as that record might indicate but you find good enough that kind of stuff played more road games than home games the strength of the team is certainly in that starting staff at least on paper and it hasn't reached its potential starting to get there and that's why they won a few games here they're certainly playing well against the brewers that's always a good sign five and one against them so far so there's absolutely some good signs on offense so i think that it's been a work in progress there were those strikeouts early we know what they did it in the off season changing hitting coaches in you're seeing slowly but surely a little bit of a change there and maybe i'll more unbiased or the answers at the top that would be quite kind the surprise no one saw that coming necessarily so i i like the offensive steps there's a huge ceiling for the starting staff and in the bullpen it's been good i don't like that it was used so early though jay hood however i think we figured out what this pennzoil baltimore owes definitely the closer but carl edwards is a weapon to be used and it's certainly going to be the setup man in these close games that we saw these last two days but also i think eventually can come in and dirty inning and get that strike out you need right now that steve see shacks job so the bullpen is kind of been figured out starting staff is starting to come around and the offense is taking it step so i i'd say it's okay you was like to be a little bit more than three games over but that's.

"Push the button every single moment of every single game every so because there's a number of managers there are like that and they don't last very long i know that the baby boomers will always tell us about how earl weaver did it back in the day with the orioles because there was the oriole way it was successful but earl weaver cannot manage today some of the managers i grew up watching in the seventies and eighties connect match today's ballplayers it's just a different temperament it's a different way of looking at things the manager is important in baseball because the mattress sets the culture the manager sets the tone if you come in as a ball player and you walk into the clubhouse you know what's expected of you there were some managers that i saw on the north side that will come in with their briefcase sit there briefcase down go to the office and never communicate with the players in the world series championship or be part of a championship team of course that's should be the thing that you look at but i think that would joe madden he starts a culture that players are comfortable with to a man you will hear from players that really enjoy joe madden as a manager and i think that he has the right temperament but now will he be able to push the cubs over the hump to be able to win another world series championship so going back to the poll question at tweet jay hood on twitter i said which of the following best describes your prediction for the cubs this season and the choices were and i'm just thinking of the cubs in the postseason based on its roster composition unless they fall flat on their ass there's no reason why the cubs can't be in the playoffs this year in some way shape or form being in the postseason so my choices were solid playoff team not going to the world series going to the world series or winning at all this year three three percent of you say that the cubs are going to be a solid playoff team twenty eight percent of you say that they're going to the world series in twenty eight percent of you say they're going to win it all this year.

"Do we have out here it's embarrassing it's embarrassing for them and embarrassing for the lead at espn one thousand also re tweeted at tweet jay hood who had the better rant this weekend from mba head coaches alvin gentry or stan van gundy they both made great points however let me point this out as a fact it is march nineteenth and both teams on the precipice of falling out of the out of the playoff picture detroit should have stayed in the seventh or eighth spot at the very least and now they're trying to get back in it same thing with the pelicans pelicans coming into the day was a seed is still a good basketball team but both guys are stressed all coaches are stressed but he there those who particularly stressed because they both want to make the playoffs so vote at espn with thousands let make sure it's very clear both guys are right and not all ficials are like that but allen gentry talking about a denied getting calls down the stretch and stan van gundy illustrating to you on the road how difficult it is to get a call because he doesn't have star power is just unfair a calls a call in the first quarter fourthquarter overtime second quarter but somehow some ways these officials have been programmed to just give stars calls only a calls a call but that's not the case and and guards are getting more of an opportunity to do what they wanna do versus big guys drivers versus shooters drivers getting more calls because they appear to be the aggressors it just it's it's not fair but in both coaches are ripe all of our guests are on the studio hot rods hotline.
