But what is one of those big successes and most importantly how did it change your mindset about what you could achieve something. I learn a lot from the market and for my clients in and i remember who it was ten years ago or so and i was teaching a company some selling principles and it was interesting because at the end of about eight me program. That's everything we do is program based long term and this is the end of the by eighty program. You talk to the ceo. Jason swinging to know you you The top twenty percents have increased their sales success. I fifty percent in eight weeks. Which huge swing. He said the bottom twenty percent though. Haven't done anything different instead. If you could figure out how to to get the bottom twenty percent to how the same performance increase as the top three percent. What i developed at that time was as metaphor metaphor bucket sizes when i mean by that is that that the consciousness of top twenty percents. It's like they were operating with a ten gallon. Bucket versus the consciousness of the bottom twenty percenter was operating with like a five. And so you take the walk metaphorical wads of paper. And you throw them equally into the buckets and those wants a paper are the knowledge is. Here's what you say to a customer's. I understand their needs. Here's how you set agendas. Here's few closed here. They will will the five gallon bucket already already. Full in was just overflowing with stuff because they were having more room to grow jangle bucket of underground and so it was an interesting kind of a moment in my life are there because at that moment i became obsessed on. How do i expand people's bucket sizes. How do i expand their their consciousness. So they can actually do the knowledge that we're teaching you know you've really become a great entrepreneur. It's one of the areas that i think entrepreneurs really just forget about a lot and they don't they don't put together a sales machine a sales engine to move things forward and it doesn't become just a bigger priority for him and they just say no. I'm curious about that. Well there's to me there's a there's many facets to this but to break it down into just two basic levels Is you have a systematic way of training the mind to function better. And i mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that if your mind functions better you're going to be more successful professionally of you'll make better decisions. So that means today you're going to maybe make a sale or you're going to reduce some costs but you're going to do something financial and then you're going to celebrate it. "New business my guest today. Jd gersh by. Thank you for joining us again. You've been on the show before we've been good friends for a long time. I'm excited about today when. Jv calls and he invites. i attend. But judy i really appreciate it. Can you just take us through your journey as an entrepreneur. What have been a couple of major pivot points in building your business. I think the the first pivot point happened well into my growth is an entrepreneur. Because i realized i couldn't work for anyone else but myself and i had tried the corporate route and came into the labor market two different times which corresponded to my receipt of two degrees that i earned and there were hiring freezes on both sides. We're in a recession on the second one. So i knew that. If i was going to be successful it would have to be betting on myself to win and and i've done that He inflection points obviously the the primary inflection point was a discovery serendipitous lee so of lincoln. Now i would have come to the site at some point of course in the professional world. But at the time i saw and the time i hung out my shingle the become a linked in specialist or consultant. There were very few people in the world who are making a go at it as a living. So i had wide open space in front of me and i made lincoln my own. I built a brand very quickly. And i've never looked back so that was really the key inflection point for me while i happen to love linked very much but i'm curious. What was it in those early days because you were there before me you know. I've got eleven thousand connections. But i wasn't really big on it at the first part of it. What was it that attracted you and said. Hey this is something. I really want to understand and help other people with. That's an outstanding question. I and i pretty much answer at the way. I answered it back then. There was something about this thing. I don't know what it was. I the way that i'm hardwired. Javy it appealed to me immediately. Both my intellect and my emotions. And when i set out to create my account that night after seeing it at a networking event that day i literally became lincoln consultant on the spot. Because i never shut up about it. And i haven't been visionary with all that much in my life but there was something about this and i felt i was in on it at a time where i could make a go of it. A lot of things had to happen for me to have a career but fortunately they did but I wonder every day at the thing i think. One of the great innovations of modern man the internet and i'm a part of it and i'm centered around the business conversation because that's unique to us as humans. Animals don't have conversations about money. So i figured that i'm in a good place. I've i've developed it. I've grown along with my craft. I've watched his lincoln has matured along. Its own personal. Corporate time. Line and have communicated these changes in admirable and timely fashion to my constituents and here i am in this chair talking to you what you know what i think is amazing and i've certainly been noticing it myself and if you spend a lot of time on linked in in the last six twelve months ago while this is almost like a new platform it's changing so much and that's why i wanted to talk about the changing roles of how you engage in lincoln so let's delve into that.
