"Yeah, man, they came to velma again money too. Here you go. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to be, it will be really interesting to see what first of all, I look at it and this is probably not giving them enough credit. I look at the Mavs as in that 6 to ten range in the west and I don't really have any question about their cast next year. And it will be interesting to see if that's how it actually plays out because look, they could be better. They could be the third best team in the west or something like that. But if it plays out where they follow up the Conference Finals by finishing 7th or 8th and have to work their way through the play in round, I wonder how Lucca responds and what the front office can even do to sort of address some of the discontent that is probably going to arise. I don't know, it'll be complicated. More complicated than you would think for a team that has one of the 5 best players in the NBA and maybe the best young guy. I would like to see Jason Kidd go on Shark Tank and pitch that Christian wood JaVale McGee idea. In front of the sharks. I would like to see that. You wanted to see me miss swinton? "Second question, I listen to your ideal off season, I would swap Dwight or Bella with Blake Griffin because he's a little bit younger and can play defense. He's older mobile, three and D can play center as well. I did look at Blake Griffin. I don't know if you saw my ideal off season. It might all be in ideal off season that I created. That was my everything breaks right for the Lakers and you're willing to trade everything that's not nailed down version of the Lakers off season. Would you think about adding Blake Griffin? Sure. We're talking better minimum, guys. Over a white or a mellow, I mean, if that was the, I'm not saying Blake Griffin over auto Porter junior. So like, Blake Griffin over one of the last guys on your bench that's already a veteran anyway. I think my answer on that depends entirely if we have another 5 on the roster already. Yeah. You know what I mean? So let's say the Lakers reunited with my ideal big man in free agency, JaVale McGee. Or even Damien Jones, I know that's going to please you, Trevor. Thank you. Appreciate it. Say one of those two already on the roster, then yeah, I don't mind Blake Griffin over Dwight. Just simply from the perspective of being able to play multiple styles, he's not a rim protector by any means, but he's a good he's going to take charges. He can switch in a pinch, not great. I would never want him to do that, but more mobile on that than the white is at least. And then playmaking, being able to act as a release valve, pass the ball, spray it around. I think that is very useful as a bench big. So if that's the case where I'm picking Blake over Dwight, absolutely. But if I don't have any other clear 5s on my roster, then I'd probably lean Dwight still. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. And I think also chemistry wise. I think while you do want to, you know, you want to freshen the air after what happened last season. And so that means going to mean a lot of turnover. I think Dwight has had success with LeBron success with AD. That kind of continuity we're seeing in the NBA, that kind of stuff is important..

"For micro Scala. Thank you, magic. Chris Boucher, probably going to get more than the Lakers can pay there, but interesting, bouncy option, 29, older than you would think. Jared Culver, a guy who's kind of washed out at this point, bounced around a little bit since being drafted. He'd be a guy that you could take a flyer on and try it, but I don't think you would expect significant production out of him. Nope. Dennis Schroeder were probably not going back down that road again. So yeah, maybe, but if the Lakers had no one, no point guard, they could bring in and Dennis schroder was still out there, but again, that didn't end well between those two sides. Brandon Robinson real quick, the super chat. I hate that LeBron's incredible season was so overlooked. Sad to see a historical performance pushed to the side. Yeah, I've been saying it for a while now. I've been saying it for a while that if you are, if you are LeBron, you're looking at this season thinking this was an MVP caliber campaign. Injuries aside, if he was able to stay healthy, he was putting up MVP caliber numbers. I'm not saying he wins it, but if the Lakers were the two seat or three seed, he's in the MVP conversation. To unfortunate because he was absolutely fantastic. All right, back to it. Avery Bradley, he was a favorite of Frank Vogel's. I don't think that's going to hold a lot of sway with darvin Hamm in terms of the advanced metrics, didn't work out so well with Avery. I don't dislike Avery Bradley, but I don't think you can lean on him quite like the Lakers did in 2019, 2020. Our old friend, JaVale McGee. If the Lakers could get him, yes, please would love it. Is up there in years, but that's okay for a guy that you're not going to count on to play major minutes. But again, made 5 million, played really well for the Phoenix Suns, played well enough to where the suns are looking at Deandre 8 and thinking, do we need to give him a max contract when biz Mac biombo and JaVale McGee both also looked really good behind him if JaVale McGee was out there for the veteran minimum? Sure. I don't know if I would burn that full taxpayer mid level though and that's probably what he's going to get from somebody most likely Phoenix. Robin Lopez, another veteran center that I like a lot. If you can get them, sure, but he and his brother Brooke love love love Disney and with the Orlando Magic, he's basically living at Disney World. So you got a prime away from that. Lou Williams, we have to see if he's going to play another season up there in years. I don't think it's going to happen. Josh Jackson, young enough, but doesn't have the shooting. He's a wing, the leaders had some success last season with Malik monk who had some problems before coming to the Lakers and then looked really good. Maybe? Maybe, but I don't think he'd be the top of my list. Jalen Smith, I think, is interesting. Jalen Smith is a guy who is interesting to me because he's got the ability to step outside and shoot a little bit, physical specimen, not the most fluid player. He's a little bit awkward when he's on the floor..

"8 inside, the understanding will be, hey, if we're going to do a sign and trade, I want that max offer. That's what he wanted last year. Didn't get it. Willing to go there. If they sign and trade him, you've got to find a team that's willing to give him that backs offer and then his willing to give stuff to the sons in exchange in a sign and trade type deal. It'll be interesting to see if anybody just throws out a full max like the spurs or someone like that throws out a full max offer. And what the sun's doing in that scenario, but I think going in, the suns will have a good idea of what's going to happen. And so I think the most likely outcome here is now a sign and trade that sends him somewhere else. And complete agreement, I think that's where it's going to go because I don't think the sons have any desire to just let him leave for nothing. So even if it's, let's just say the Detroit Pistons who project have the most cap space go all in on an offer sheet. I think Phoenix would match it if for no other reason to retain control of the asset. So what I think is potentially likely here, different players, different situation, but remember when Malcolm Brogdon left the box for the producers, he agreed to that deal with the pacers and then the buck said, hey, we're not let's not mess around with an offer sheet. Let's make this a sign and trade and get this done. So we don't have to go through all the jumping through all the offer sheet hoops of we're going to make you wait and all this stuff will make it a sign and trade. Mutually beneficial for both. That's kind of how I now expect us to play out. For the suns is it'll be our you pick your spot and as long as something works, it's not going to be doing it and we get back for crappy contracts for him or something. They're not going to do that. But yeah, but if they can get into a position to do that and then get it into a spa where it is going to be mutually beneficial in the sun skin can get back something there. I think they'll do because I think too if you're the songs, Deandre ayton is really, really good. Don't get me wrong. But I think the songs are like, hey, we did all right with JaVale McGee when he played. It is place. We did fine. We're bizmac beyond when he played in his place. You know, do we have to really go this direction? And that's where I think you get a little tricky on that one. Now, there's challenges with a sign and trade. There are things on base share compensation. Issues that can be a problem. There are things with hard caps for the team acquiring them. That can be issues. But that's all stuff that can be worked around. There, so yeah, it'll be a situation where they can make this stuff happen and get it done. So I'm with you. That was a very long way of saying, I think he is signed and traded away from the Phoenix Suns at some point this off season. What's the best landing spot for him? And I know there's 30 different 29 possibilities there..

"So I'm not going to say he's not a good GM, but he's had his faults too, but Lakers decided to move on. If the Lakers decided to break it up, this is from love from YouTube, the super chat. I think the only team that can trade for LeBron is the warriors without breaking up their core. I don't know if the Lakers would trade the broad of the warriors, but again, we've said this all along, if LeBron was going to be traded, I think it would take LeBron asking the Lakers to trade him. I don't think the Lakers would just go out there and find a trade and decide to ship him out. Yeah. And so first off, not only will LeBron have to go to the Lakers for an office to say, hey, I want to be traded. The Lakers are not trained in The Bronx warriors. So Brian Holliday, watching this team play makes me miss KCP, JaVale Kuzma, Caruso, Danny Green, marky Morris. Yeah, I mean, just pieces that fit. And size. We looked at the Lakers starting lineup. Russ, Avery Bradley, Malik monk was your three. It's small guards and then AD and Dwight, you've no big wings..

"Past season? I don't know. I certainly don't have full confidence that they're going to make all the correct decisions this summer. I hope they do. We've seen them make some smart moves in the past. But there's also a little bit of trepidation on my part as we get towards the off season. What exactly are they going to do? And could it wind up hurting the franchise for the next decade to come? When we're talking about the 2027 2029 pick, we could be talking about the next 7, 8 years of this franchise moving forward could be on the line with the decisions that are made this summer and that's frightening. Yeah. It is extremely frightening and you know, I want to give rob credit though where credit is due. He hasn't made only bad decisions. The decision to not, whether that came from him or whatever, it was above his head, I'm not too sure. But I mean, Tyler, obviously would have been a great coach that being said, Frank Vogel is a great coach. And we want a championship with Frank Vogel. After winning the championship, good move. At least on paper, you know, and I'll say this. A lot of the moves that did not work out at the time they were made, you understood. They made sense. Danny Green for dentist schroder Dennis schroder had just won or not one, but he was the runner up for 6 men of the year. They were losing rondo, they were losing Avery Bradley, they had spots at guard. Do you have another ball? You know, guys and Anthony Davis's age range. It cut to all the boxes made all the sense in the world. It didn't work out. But you can't, that's not an indictment. It was a good move. Bad move, letting trading JaVale McGee, I think, was a bad move. To bring it back. Yeah, for Marc Gasol. I think to bring in Gasol and not the good soul was, you know, he had a decent year with us, but if you look back at last year, there are definitely some possessions and some times even still to this day. I mean, we could have really used JaVale. I mean, how much would you love to have Jamal JaVale McGee right now? Oh, yeah. You know, absolutely. And I laugh because I remember the first month or so of that season. Last season, they spent time throwing lobs about a foot too high, where tres is going up for it and can't get there. Gasol is looking at it fly by and he's like, what do you expect me to do with that? They were used to throwing that up to JaVale and him going up and getting it or Dwight and him going up and getting it and they didn't have that anymore. Yeah, so there have been good moves and bad moves. I don't want to just completely make this an indictment on him, but yeah, the bad moves have been really, really bad. And we're heading into a really big summer. This is a franchise altering summer. You know, this is going to set things up for the next, you know, maybe 5, 6, 7, 8 years to come. I'm sorry to say Frank Vogel is gone. I don't see them bringing him back. And I don't think this is his fault that he's just going to be the ball guy. Unfortunately, so who are they going to hire as the coach? What are they going to do with Russell Westbrook and the rest of the roster? And is it sacrilegious for me to say this?.

"Had to say it not right because you're also going to probably face his team in the first round if you make it that far. But then also going on to the Russell Westbrook thing and finding a potential trade in potentially having another star next season. Like you mentioned, I'm glad you brought up the video because I was going to reference it. We already did it for me. The Lakers got away from it. And I don't understand why the need to have we have to go get our star because regardless the whole point of getting Russell Westbrook was for, okay, when LeBron's off the floor or this happens or maybe just help alleviate the pressure of LeBron. LeBron's going to have the ball in his hands anyway. So like trading for Russell Westbrook and offloading coups to do a KCP mantra hero letting Alex Caruso walk for cap reasons and money. None of that made sense. And then if you go on all the way back to the championship roster, JaVale McGee walks, you don't think you could really afford him anyway. JaVale McGee walks. What am I missing? I'm guessing something. Danny Green, you trade him. But guess what? If you don't trade Danny Green, we get Desmond bane. Yay. I keep reminding me of that. You could have had Danny Green and Desmond, but yes, but at the time the trade made sense, most people were crediting the Lakers for making that move and gave sure. Looking back now. It hasn't worked out. Mother fatality said, it all caps. Trevor's hanging around with Matt too much because I, it was a quasi relationship style. And joke there. All right, and the Trevor, I decided, like, come on, trev. That was a rap brand. I love you guys. I gave you guys didn't join. We had a whole, this is all depressing that first half or so of the game was. A half time. We had a whole like 5 minute part of the show where people were just trying to guess my age is still Trevor decided to add fuel to the fire a little bit. So Russell Westbrook, this is coming in from our own Ryan ward just tweeted out that Russell Westbrook's presser lasted a minute and 30 seconds. The last one only lasted two minutes. I mean, that may not sound that should sound short no matter what most pressors are somewhere in the ten ish minute range, like 7 to ten minutes right in there. Sometimes a little bit longer depends. A minute and 30 seconds is he really did not want to talk. That's what that tells you. Said at the start announcer's yell are you ready? I think no. So when Bruce buffer, it gets on the mic, you say no, thank you, Bruce. Mauricio villa royal said the man oh man, this is brutal. That LeBron's frustration summarizes it all. There's no excuses to not match LeBron's energy and effort. If only we could do that, yeah. LeBron himself has had energy and effort issues at certain times. But again, he's 37. He's been carrying this team for much of the season. I think there's a reason why we've seen that sometimes. Is it frustrating? Sometimes when he stays behind the play, absolutely. Unfortunately, this team very much follows LeBron. If LeBron's low energy, the team's low energy and vice.

"Need to hire, you need indeed yeah, no, I mean, look, the sons, the one 7th straight, 9 of their last ten, they're 22 and 5 on the road, like this is just a very, very good team. I wouldn't give them a chance against the suns, but if you have a chance to play Golden State or Memphis, you're not favored, but I would give them a fighter's chance to make that interesting. And obviously, you know, the platitudes are the way they are for a reason, if you have LeBron James in a 7 game series, you know, odds tell you you feel pretty good about that, but against Phoenix, I would just be, it'd be sad. I think it'd be a sad way to go out. Again, again, second year in a row. It does feel like in some ways we're trapped in Groundhog Day here. With this user compared to last season, another Anthony Davis injury down the stretch. Can AD get back and be healthy and all that kind of stuff. And then of course last season was essentially undone. I think the Lakers had a really good chance to knock off the suns in round one last season. Until Anthony Davis's injury hit. And of course, Chris Paul getting healthier that a 100% of factor, but still, Anthony Davis's injury, I think, really swung that series. The Lakers were up two to one. This Lakers team that I wouldn't favor over the suns. They haven't shown the consistency to get to that level. Not quite like we saw a healthy Lakers team do last season. Yeah, and the sun's not to get too deep into the suns, you know, we're a Lakers duo here. But I don't know, I don't know if you see it this way, but I don't think the sons have shown any discernible weaknesses this season. They lost Deandre ayton for a time, they've had a little bit of injuries here and there and they've just like, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Bismack biyombo and JaVale McGee.

"I had somebody asked who was a super chat. I missed the name, though, said, would the Lakers be better off right now if they had just kept the 2019 2020 title team? Just keep that team intact, roll it over. Keep that entire squad. I mean, I think the easy answer there would be, yes, right? Because that team had chemistry. Like at JaVale McGee, look how good JaVale McGee looked tonight. Ad JaVale McGee into the mix. Add Caruso into the mix. KCP, Kuzma. If you just kept that squat even, I think you'd be in better shape than you are right now. If you kept last year's team, I think you're certainly in better shape than you are right now. The changes that the Lakers made, there was reason for them that was rationale behind them, but they largely have not worked the way they were intended to. And so that's where the Lakers are. But yeah, I don't think it's even debatable. That if you kept the title team or kept the team from last year, the Lakers right now would be better in terms of wins and losses in terms of their overall record. Especially at this point, yeah. Yeah, for sure. I agree with that. Now, does that team I'd argue have the potential this team? I'd argue no, because let me just logically it's kind of hard to roll back the same team where the rest of the league is continuing to improve kind of hard to roll back the same team and just expect to be contenders, right? But I won't say they have the same potential. I definitely agree like at this point that championship team would definitely be performing better than this one anyway, yeah. Absolutely. My email said Trump is a safe to say without a trade this team doesn't win a title. I think there needs to be a rebalancing. I think they're too guard heavy on this team. And too small. I don't know, Sean AD comes back. Let's say.

"Cam Johnson would sting. He's a really good player. He's a really good young player. Where I find it interesting again, I was just saying how Phoenix has what seems like a rebounding advantage over the warriors to some extent. Man, they really have that if you get sabonis, and what else I like about it too, they have it struggled with this yet, but I wonder to some extent I was a big, big proponent of Phoenix adding JaVale McGee because it was very clear last year they got killed with Kaminsky in those minutes when Charles went down in the finals. McGee has been solid for them this year. Kaminsky before he got hurt was actually solid for them this year. But I like the idea of having a rotation like McGee is the kind of center that I don't think you want to play against every sort of lineup. Defensively, even as good as he is and as much of a rim protector as he is, I like having the versatility that if you have to go up and down a little bit more, that's a bonus. I like that more than having someone that is kind of more of a traditional 5. And someone that can kind of that you could potentially run your offense through a lot more than you can't really do that with your veil. So I like that aspect of it too. Like I said, I don't hate it. I'd probably have to sit and think on a little bit more. It's an intriguing team, though, to send him to. It would be an intriguing team to send him to. And it would, I feel like it would at least make the warriors think a little bit as far as like, how do we even go about trying to defend this or stop this? So yes or no, would it make them the favorites to win the championship? To me? I'd have to think about it. I don't know right away if it does, but also, again, I don't think I know the answer as to who my favorite even is until I see the warriors with clay. That kind of keep coming back to that. Okay. But I kind of feel like that's the big difference there is that they have their own trade that's going to come back and they're not having to give anything up to get them. So I don't know. But it certainly makes them more interesting than the warriors in my opinion and it makes them more interesting than everybody else that's on that contending line at that point..

"So I think like minutes and rotations were obvious, but I mean, just kind of take me through like, how much of the early part of the season will be Vogel trying to figure out his rotations? I think that like I said, up until lost our break. I think it's going to take a while. Some teams, some coaches might take 15, 20 games, 25. I think this is gonna take a long stretch because I think as LeBron looks and see like, it was really watching him last night as much as I could on the bench and what he was doing. He did a lot more talking to players than I've ever seen him talking before. So as he's watching, and who knows, yes, I mean, the guy fell on his leg or something like that. But LeBron might have said, hey, you know, if this is a chance where I can get sit back legitimately, hey, I'm injured. Nobody can question that. And kind of look at the team from a coaching standpoint. Because you see things better on the outside than the inside. So I think it's going to take them some time to figure out 50 this out. That's why I say cold Volvo. That's a happy thing. Just think of you didn't have players and you only have four or three players and you try and figure out true role players and putting them in starting position. I think that's where you're gonna have an issue. But I think it's gonna take some time. And I think the Lakers will eventually solve the problem themselves. And right now, I'm only talking about from the offensive standpoint. Defensively, the Lakers are a gym, man. They're going to really a certain self defensively. I got that three prong, 7 foot attack coming again when they had AD, Howard and JaVale McGee, well, you throw Deandre Jordan there, AD and Howard, you got that inside attack. And I think that's the reason why they want a championship..

"Phoenix suns and other team. That's going to be up there. Like right off the bat. Because they added like javale mcgee landry shamet so like most of their course still intact so Do lakers are gonna have those tough games early on where they are going to be like struggling to figure themselves out where they stand in the pecking order because the west is going to be a monster like usually is. But i feel like if there's a team that's going to start picking things up as the season goes along going to be the lakers just because of all the new pieces coming in on the lakers. Coaching staff. Also completely new to david physicals coming in john. Lucas third is coming in You know line. Holland's left jason kidd left so there's a lot of movement within dot to try to get sorted out so things are going to have to like. I think we'll start figuring out who the lakers are like. Hopefully by christmas. That should give some you know a two months time in to like see where the lakers are standing compared to the other teams health is obviously may be the biggest part because of the lakers. As are they going to be durable Can they make it work. You know like there's not a lot of young legs on this team. How do they balance like rest and lower management and things like that when they get you know to the very tough parts because under the lakers have a pretty easy schedule like the first couple of months like they don't play as many top opponents being started take a turn like in march and as season goes on and they start to play like all the big teams More often so. If there's any time for the lakers to make mistakes is going to be early on just because of the teams are gonna to play like another play a lot of like the lower level teams early on in both conferences so work your struggles out then and be prepared because amnesties is not gonna be good would of course we never Injuries will turn out in like shape things as the season goes but just giving what we know on paper. The lakers are going to be the team. That as the season progresses hopefully the source things out and makes a late push And hopefully finishes like a top three seat. I least that's where. I kind of have them if everything works in their favor. Yeah i agree. The team definitely needs to finish app. Three and i think i would have them there right now but like you mentioned. It's i think the way that. I look at the lakers too so interesting. Because we're not the way i look at them just like in looking at them. It's interesting because like mentioned last year when the ryan ad went down or even when it was just. i mean like they both missed significant chunks. And there's a lot of inconsistency in the rosser That team is bad as the offense was. I think they were like bottom five in the league for like a fifteen game stretch. They were clear. Cut the number one defense in the league. They had that hang their hat on. I hate that issues that cliche statement. But i didn't have anything better but like you knew that. That was their blueprint. That's how they won game. this what they did. The team is so different compared. To how how that's looking we just don't really know what the identity of the team's going to be yet..

I'm supposed to take in case, just in case, I don't know, who knows. Anyway heart let's get to it. After our Argo full stories about how we both have failed miserably over the Baptist month mentioned struggles. There have been some struggles. Let's, let's talk about somebody else who's struggling. Gregg Popovich in the Olympic team. Let's start there. And who, who do you put the blame on, you put it more on pop, or do you put it on Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard and some of these other guys that are producing? I mean, I think it's shared all the way around. You know, the players have to play and, and certainly the coaches have to coach the guys, but also, you know, you gotta be a team in a way where you can build the team and look like if we had top-five or if we did the top twelve guys, in the NBA that are from United States and you haven't play Kawhi Leonard LeBron James Steph Curry Susanna conversation because the Gap is still pretty wide. But when you start taking, you know, like the the World Cup in 2019 for 515 that was what the like the home team of probably NBA players like not that they're bad but when you compare them to who the top 12 is going to be. Yeah, it's totally different. Like Javale McGee is on our dog. Olympic team, Calvin, Johnson, Tom Johnson and again not bad players. Javale McGee has made himself a really good NBA player. He said up terrific career when you look at where he has come from and how he's what a 350 MB, a champ and is now made a national team. That is an incredible career, but when you look at national teams of the past it is Hall of Famers, every song Hall of Famer talked about. So, you know, the talent isn't the same as what we're probably used to, but I think also you're now seeing that since the Dream Team in ninety-two home countries, have heavily invested in basketball, and they have done a really good job of, not only developing players, but developing chemistry and camaraderie and guys have grown up playing together. You know, Pride, Rob, don't you think there's more of a pride you played in some, of these countries. Now that we don't have pride not again. Kevin Durant doesn't have pride for his job. He does. What is it? A different level with with some of these other guys? Yeah, it probably is. And I think also, you know, some of those guys might take the national team stuff down more seriously. But yeah I guess Lucas said it didn't Lucas say he rather wanted gold medal than an NBA title? I mean yeah and that'll probably isn't the case for all of our guys about for any of our guys. I just think that it's become such a foregone conclusion in most years that the US are just going to win. Yeah. So where it's like?.

"Because I think obviously, Jared Allen's restricted. Frank Kaminsky, no thing reached. Run interactive Olympian JaVale McGee? Hey, maybe I'm in. He the guys got Championship experience. He right. I mean, he's, he's shown that. Like, he, I mean, obviously There Was, You know, the, the reputation you had is younger player. Maybe that was, maybe it was well deserved for right now. I mean, he he won titles and Golden State, right? Like the guy, I mean, even if he's not playing necessarily, he could be a month, just a, just a guy, you could plug in again, you could start him for ten minutes claim, ten minutes a game, right? Cuz that's, that's all you're really looking for with these centers, especially when you have out bulb is unrestricted. Never going to say no no bond and I have a real so you're getting rid of taco and you need you need a little bit, some of that fan draw. You could could go with bobong, enes Kanter. No thank you. Aaron Baynes will probably be available. He's got a blue team option that troubles likely going to decline. So yeah, again you have a nice pic of your over the hill. Slasher tenders will be out there. One of those guys will take next to nothing to play for you in that scenario..

"Went viral. Everyone started knows him. But the production they're getting out of their Young Guns of him and Garland is excellent. So far this season and there another team that's owned not allowing. I think a hundred three or a hundred four points per game. So they're bought in on the defensive side of the ball and sex and like you said, yeah, he's going to be a 20 + square in every game. He's not seriously thought this guy but he's smart decision maker with the ball in his hands and I think Javale McGee is also playing some really good ball for them on the defensive side. Who knows maybe the Cavs could scrap into the name. With their a seat in the East anything's possible this year. This could be a a big season for him early in his career. Yeah, they can be the magic like what the magic have done every single year and go like, you know Thirty 8042 or something like that and just hit the 7 or 8 seed that can be the Cavs. Why not? I would just saying how the Cavs could really be making a push right now how they have they have taken someone else there in that spot. But who knows? Like I said earlier with Kim Johnson, I wasn't really sold on him coming out of the draft. So not really that good in that category, but there's a few other teams that has taken a look at and it's really it's really interesting to see who's playing good ball and his playing, you know, a little bit of lackadaisical here at the beginning of the year and it seemed that confused me with their offseason acquisitions the Pistons. They just don't have an identity. I don't know what direction they're heading. It's a really confusing team to me and really sad news. I mean, I don't sad might be the wrong word. I'm no doctor but I did see the killing Hayes has a tear in his hip this month. So that sucks. I was really happy to watch him play this year. He hasn't actually played that much but he's a bright young player. You hate to see that happen. There's just nothing going right in Detroit..

"Just didn't work out. I think if they're patient and they wait too long. El Market if they get to the Bayou Market and they say okay, we really clearly we need another big. I think there's going to be somebody out there for them to get and that's just I mean, that's March. So we're talking about a couple of months see what you've got and go to the trade deadlines coming up in March see what you've got. And then you you make your move after that and until then though, you kind of let things sit if you've got a few struggles here and there. Okay. Risk of falling out of the playoffs or anything. There's no urgency to do this right now. I like what you just said though, cuz that kind of paints. It's very black and white like that. Like if you know, if you get the same thing with me, if you were to ask me if we could swap Market Javale McGee bath or a gazelle. I rather have Gasol than Javale McGee as well I'm saying and I'm and I'm thinking about you know, some of the potential Western Conference matchups again, and we've talked about this before, you know, I like the result of what Joker did stir to javel when we played them in the playoffs Jokers. They you know, if we do have that match match up again Jokers not going to do that to kasol and then when you factor in costome passing ability has ability to stretch the floor I think you know in my mind you would definitely would want to have Casal over McGee Dwight Howard is the only question mark and it's a it's just like you said, I think that they did want to keep Dwight. It was just the circumstances of all that but you know, if you again I think it's all over McGee and I add a jersey what Laker Nation thinks I gotta open this Stop, sometimes people have some opinions on that. It's it's split. There's some people who agree. There's some people who don't there's some people say they would rather have Gasol and that's that's fine or I'm sorry rather have JaVale and that's fine. Everybody's going to have their own opinion there. But personally I like what Gasol brings. They're both veteran guys. I know I was a little bit younger, but I just like the options that the Consol brings for you A lot of people say wait for the playoffs or Marcus thought maybe there's going to be a little bit of a kind of Rondo esque Resurgence around the playoffs. He didn't show it last year with Toronto, but he's still a very solid player. Yeah, exactly people same thing Miss Chavez Vlogs, totally understand understand that your bills a very fun guy and I miss miss that miss having him around there, but I understand the basketball the decision. I think the process to make that decision was a game just like we look at you know, Danny Green. It's a super nice guy, but when you look at that train, Danny Green and what was it the 28th pick in the draft for Dennis Schroder. Like especially based on what we're seeing. Now, you do.

There I Was...
U.S. National Aerobatic Champion Patty Wagstaff Recounts a Cessna 185 Flilght
"Welcome to another edition of there. I was a podcast where we put you in the cockpit with pilots in interesting situations and we learn learn how they flew out of them. I'm your host Richard McFadden today. We're delighted to welcome back our inaugural guest on there was podcast three time. US aerobatic robotic national champion. Paddy waxed how do you thank you for joining us again. And we're delighted to have you back on the podcast ace. Richard is great to be back. You're doing a great Javale this podcast. So I'm thrilled to be back. Thank you well great and thanks to people like you. They're so willing to share your circumstances in your situation with all all of us so that we can learn from you had a recent incident on your birthday of all days and you reached out to us to want to share the story about about what happened in the lessons learned. That came out of that. So do you mind sharing that with us today exactly. Yeah it was. My birthday was nine eleven and it was my birthday so all in all not such a great day. Hi It's it's a tough birthday anymore. It's kind of an emotional day anyway so So this was when my bonanza was wrecked in. Had An accident. Might Bonanza of all things I've never had an airplane accident before I've had a few promptings and things like that that for sure but Alone up to everything that I've never had a real accident and just to back it up very very slightly before I started flying i. I was in an accident in assessment to six in Alaska when I first started flying small airplanes up there. Flying in smaller planes in the airplane had Flipped upside down at the end of the runway. We didn't get off the runway and the pilot didn't use the full length of a muddy runway. And so so on so forth so I had been upside down on the ground in an airplane before you and of course those kinds of things really stick with you and so that actually comes into play in this incident. Yeah and people should know they. Probably don't know you for Bonanza flying but you fly one thousand nine hundred fifty eight K.. Model Bonanza that you have flown for a while now Inbetween your aerobatic events which are not so well for right. It's a great little plane to get around in As he says Kay model It was I bought it in nineteen in two thousand twelve and before that I'd had serious in in barons and this was the first detail that I'd had and I re- I really liked it Great little airplane. It was fast and comfortable double and so we miss it yet now. Is the airplane going to be repairable or might be cutting to the chase hurt. No airplanes total. Sorry now aw it was sixty years old so there was a lot. Got A lot out of it. You know for many years later a lot of people enjoyed it and I understand you were flying with an old friend of mine. China Jeff. Rochelle of former Air Force thunderbird pilot is that right. Yeah exactly. He's one of our instructors in good friend and So you were on different front years I think you were you. Were quite a bit later right and the meaning a much younger than he is. I think. That's okay yeah so He's an instructor in your school down there and Saint Augustine. He as instructs for us both in airbags in an upset that training and he also went with us to Kenya this year to give training to Kenya Wildlife Service. Wow fantastic and so you guys were were you coming back where you out on a training sortie Jordy or can you set the stage where it's what kind of flight was this. Sure so this was a we were at a meeting in Titusville about upset training and the weather is nice. Nice no problems in we as we got on the plane to leave. Jeff said Hey What an I fly and I said well you know it's left seats a little tricky to know plane there some little things things I want to show you? And I said it's it's getting laid out the slide this time next time. I'll put you in the left seat because he hadn't actually flown this airplane before and also there's no brakes on the right. Let's see the rudder pedals but they were stowed. I just didn't want to deal with with all that. And he goes okay so I jumped in the legacy but my seatbelt and and we took off and flew back. Who's better forty minute flight back to Saint Augustine? Yeah so important for people to know that. bonanza in this model of detail. Bonanza it has the throw over yoke doc and it also has the rudder pedals that you can stow so the idea. Was the person in the right seat. If you don't want them to has no ability to control the airplane whatsoever you take the okay the rudder pedals and it's just a nice comfortable seat for them. And that's how you had it configured for this Flight Right Act and I certainly wasn't worried about jeff flying the airplane plane. I just didn't want to have to deal with the checkout. It's got a it's got. These older details have The Piano Keys. And that's what controls the flaps APPs in the gear and the reverse from the newer airplanes so even a highly experienced pilot like jeff need to check out on how that works and it's a little awkward to operate. Operate those from the right seat upshur so till two different airplane for sure these these older planes And you have to be very careful not to go go back muscle memory with a new plan so I jumped in the left seat. We flew back Everything was eventful was nice weather. The traffic pattern was uh-huh nobody in the patrimony. Got Back to Saint Augustine and we were cleared to land landed. I landed a little bit long because my hangers down at the far end of runway. One the three To the South we touched down. The centerline Everything is very relaxed and fine and I was rolling out ahead about half flaps on and we were rolling out. I hadn't applied brakes yet. I was very careful with that airplane. It's an older plane and I never haunt on the brakes or you know applied the milliard sure. Yeah does it. Have the old goodyear breaks or or had it been upgraded to Cleveland Breaks. Has Cleveland breaks but I never want to put a lot of side load on the gear so so so just rolling out and all of a sudden the plane sort of ears right into the grass and jeff and I looked at each other. I grabbed the yoke can pulled it back and looked at. He said it's going into the grass. Like I said. Check the power because I have my hands full holding the outback and he checked the his hand on this model to make sure because it idle and meanwhile I tried to steer it with the brakes or the absurd with the rudder pedals and got nothing. I couldn't move them I thought I was just about to slow down and it hit a berm. The small firm. You wouldn't one of those in the grass that you would know is there and the plane started to go over over and we looked at each other and he said it's going over sh and it did it just went straight over tail over nose and ended up upside down on the graphs. Sounds like it just happened so quickly it was quick and It was really surprising. And just you know I mean you just just you in disbelief for a few moments. Just can't believe this actually happened. That's aviation sometimes right there. You are typical normal landing. Everything's fine then. You're slowing down to exit the runway and next thing you know the airplanes starts veer to the right. You run off the runway. You're upside down in a matter of probably less than a minute or two. When all that happened I don't know it's probably just you know thirty seconds? I'm guessing twenty seconds or something like that and I remember somebody saying to me longtime ago you know when accidents happen. They happen very very quickly. It's not something you can prepare for ahead of time. Yeah of course you can prepare everything you can for the you know the worst but when it actually happens you're not can have time to organize things And so as the plane was in. You guys realize we're going over. Did you have time to do anything. They're canaries for impact. Do anything you just have to brace so couple of things that were interesting won. The seat belts are older and the shoulder shoulder. Harnesses are a later addition to the plane. They didn't come shoulder harnesses in the initially and our shoulder harnesses where the kind of Chris cost kind that weren't on an inertial real. We had been wanting to change it but we had the older kind so that when they were on they were a little tight and it was awkward to reach Ford and Change Few uh uh switch fuel tanks and do some other things so what I normally would do is take off with the shoulder harness on and Then take it off in the air when I get up to altitude so I could switch tanks and things like that and then fly without the shoulder harness and a lot of times I have to say. I didn't put it on for landing. Even though I know a lot of times I did but there were times. I didn't in this case because it was a really short flight from Titusville and I knew I didn't have to switch tanks. Thanks consider some Feel management in these older planes. I left my shoulder harness on which was a little unusual for me if I hadn't left. mysolar harness ars on. I probably would have gotten hurt. And Jeff had a shoulder harness on too so we were really lucky with that so we had our differences on. Were upside down and I looked over and said are you okay and I remember being upside down on that Cessna six in nineteen eighty. Maybe to No earlier than that is probably Nineteen seventy-nine in remembered the pilot saying be careful. Be careful her yourself when you get out because there's been a lot of. I think there's been a lot of injuries for people when they upside down. They rip off their seat building. They hit their head and said okay be careful and I remembered it. So it's amazing. How these things are they stay with

Skip and Shannon: Undisputed
LA Lakers Sign Michael Beasley
"Let's get to it. The Lakers keep adding to their roster this off season. Multiple reports. The Lakers have agreed to a one year deal with Michael Beasley was a teammate of LeBron's in Miami Beasley was the number two overall pick in two thousand eight, but has had a history of drug issues during his career. Last year, he averaged about thirteen points per game with the Knicks and the Lakers already at it. Rajon Rondo land Stevenson and javale McGee this off season. We're joined by EVA's one NBA analyst. Chris. I'm gonna get this one starting with skip because I wanna know what you think. What is going on here just for the record, I've covered the NBA even longer than my main Chris Broussard. I started covering the NBA when I was at the LA times back in nineteen seventy seven, and I covered these Los Angeles Lakers. So I've been around for a little while and I've seen thing or to this team now sets up as the most difficult to coach team. I can ever remember. Maybe I'm forgetting one somewhere along the trail, but I don't think so because let me just count the ways. Michael Beasley love is game, loved him before his draft. He's been on seven teams and eleven years for reason. Rajon Rondo has been on six teams in the last five years for a reason land. Stevenson has been on seventeen in the last six years for a reason. Nj, all McGee has been on sixteen eleven years for various reasons. They're all in different ways, extremely difficult to coach from night tonight. They can be moody, they can be. Unpredictable. They can be a little knuckle headed in their own various ways. This is now the NBA's version of the expendable 's and I can't believe that LeBron James signed off on all four of them because I'm pretty sure magic had to take each one of these still LeBron say, you good, you good, you good. He's had history with all four in various ways playing for or against them or with an or against them. And it's like he now has the equivalent of four JR Smith on his team. Not that Rondos knuckle headed. He can just be difficult high basketball, I q Doc. Rivers finally said, I just can't coach him because he thinks he's the coach of my team thinks he knows more than I do. He was the driving force behind New Orleans rise last year into the plows past Portland in the first round. It was highly impressive. And then the pelicans said, no, no, no, we we're not going to go for with Rondo because he's difficult to coach. So all the sudden porn Luke Walton at age thirty eight is sitting. In the volatile mix that he's surrounded with with a lot of bench players who are going to want minutes and make waves of if they don't get their minutes and he's got a lavar ball, sort of hanging over his head from above and you never know which night lavar is just going to go off on Luke Walton and say, the team has quit on him or he should be fired or whatever. So if this team does get off to a little bit of a rocky, start, my Mandla Shannon Sharpe says, yes, it could get off to a rocky start. Everybody thinks that this is going to become a rough mix. You know where the fingers are going to get points early on. The thirty eight year old head coach down at the end of the bench, right? And again, LeBron is going to have to help him coach his team. If in fact, he signed off on these four guys, but I'm gonna remind you. There's been a long running theme in the league that I, I heard around the San Antonio Spurs back in Stephen Jackson days, and I love Stephen Jackson, but he was considered early on in his career despite all of his game and all of his intangibles in character that he did have basketball character. He was considered a knucklehead. He could do knucklehead things in..

Lakers, LeBron James and LeBron discussed on First Take
"What's going on. Everybody welcome. I take Molly came here and we have some major. Exciting news here on I take. I am so happy. So Maxon Stephen may be on vacation, but they are getting ready to take on the Big Apple. I take officially moving to a new studio in New York City. The debut show airs on Labor Day, September, third. So we may be changing the location, but you can still expect the same hot towards debate. And of course, lots of special guests and surprises to welcome the show to New York in speaking of a voice. I miss Steven, you're on the phone. Hey, how's vacation going in your discreet location? Disclose location? Yes. I'm loving loving. Neely, I, you know, I relaxed enough to get ready to beat up on Maxwell another year. And what have you that's a given look comes with the territory, but I mean credibly excited that we're moving to New York City both myself and maximum native New Yorkers. It's been a long time coming. It's something that pleaded in baseball for years, and finally it's happening. So I'm incredibly excited. Yes, I am Stephen, I cannot wait. And I think one of the major things I'm excited about is obviously, you know, it's the mecca for for a lot of things, especially I still consider the NBA as well. And I think certain guests will be able to get there in a lot of other surprise and stuff will have for the show. So I think it'd be major, but I, I know you have to be kind of sad because you're not going to have to drive up to bristle anymore. You're not gonna come up here. You know what it is. It is a very, very sad day because I mean, what's not to love about Bristol, Connecticut. I mean. ESPN down the block that there's a McDonald's and and and and and a ruby Tuesdays and stuff like that. I've really, it's really sad that I'm not going to be able to be there because I'm going to be in new you most times and on occasion, I'll find myself with John and feed and Dominic in LA. I mean my God, it's such a tough tough situation, but I think I'll say, I can't wait and obviously can't wait at four t with you guys. Now that'll be on your home city, but saving, I'll tell team soon. I hope you are actually relaxing for some reason. I don't believe you, but please do that because you know, once you're back, you're back. Just know this when I'm back copy ready, then I'll tell, sorry my condolences to Mexico element in advance must've taken. It's about to be out. All right, Steven, Al. Talk to you soon. All righty. Thank you. Congratulations, Shane. Okay. So we have a first day moving to the Big Apple catch us every day at ten eastern starting on September. Third. Sports right now. I'm at Collins, new Denver Nuggets. Point guard. Isaiah Thomas is sitting down with our MBA insider h. g. now ski, I t who signed a one year two million dollars contract with the nuggets. Last week opened up to watch telling him this free agency was flat out disappointing, the twenty nine year old who continues to fight the perceptions of his help. One onto say, quote, people know that I've earned deserve the Bax contract, and that's the only reason why I didn't get paid what I deserved because I got injured. I get that. The biggest thing for me was to get to the best opportunity for me this summer and show that I'm healthy. You can read. We'll just four article on Thomas right now on ESPN dot com. Staying in the NBA with Kawai heading to Toronto on the broad in Los Angeles. We're looking ahead to who are the best and worst team heading into the season where than forty ESPN reporters, insiders and editors came out with a new set of power rankings. You'd think with James in Los Angeles Lakers at least at the. Five think again, no surprise. The warriors are on top, but three of the top five teams are from the Eastern Conference, the Lakers checking nine, but that's only the six best among Western Conference teams. Let's get back to. I takes Tony. Thank you the Lakers outing. Another piece to help LeBron next season's dining, Michael Beasley to a one year deal. As you just heard the Lakers are number nine in our latest NBA tower, rankings Mazel serve with you. Do think the Lakers or more likely to surprise us as upcoming season or disappoint, you know, I'm a huge Lakers fan. I think they are more likely to disappoint what fortunately with you to say that look. I mean, there are some really interesting piece. I liked the addition of Michael Beasley. They need shooters, but there are some really challenging personalities on this roster land Stevenson and Ray John Rondo and javale McGee. And now Michael Beasley, the expectations are so high for this team. And I think ultimately we're talking about a team that's going to be the six to seven seed. I think in the Western Conference I would never count LeBron. But LeBron James, I don't think has ever been on a team that has finished six or seven in its conference. I think it's going to be a very, very tough challenge for Luke. Walton debt may be the toughest job in the NBA right now, balancing those personalities, balancing those egos and keeping LeBron James happy. Can I respond to Mr. happy over here? Does he need to get in there and say, as I like to say, my real job is at the as the Lakers radio play by play guy. This is going to be great. It's going to be a fascinating lab experiment. Number one, we got LeBron look at the roster LeBron had last year in Cleveland compared to this roster this wrestlers just as good, maybe better. I can't wait to see how these pieces come to. And keep in mind. The Lakers young guys are all getting ready to make a jump. Brandon Ingram doubled his statistical numbers. Last year, Josh Hart was just the MVP of summer league Lonzo ball's coming off of a minor knee surgery, but I expect him to get better this year and Kyle Kuzma was the steal of the draft. I can't wait to see what this Lakers team looks like with will run as the leader. The games are going to be ridiculously exciting, and most of all, we're not going to be losing anymore. I've suffered through five straight losing seasons. The end of that is here, and I think that the Lakers are going to surprise a lot of people in the opposite of Mason. Dominique. I think the Lakers are, if you look at that roster, there's some real possibilities. I think I agree with you in part because I don't think the expectations are very high expectations are pretty low for this team right now. All the reporting about other opinions about this team is that they're the. Main team there. They're a bunch of guys who are wildcards and is no way that you can put together. And it seems like every other week, the Lakers are coming out trying to defend their roster construction and try and explain to us what they're thinking. I think what they're trying to put together as a smart team of bunch of guys who have veteran experience that are adaptable on defense can pass pretty well not as many shoot as you would like to see. But they have a couple of shooters. I think they have a decent team and they have a guy by the name of LeBron James. I don't know if you guys watch the playoffs last year, watch any basketball. James is pretty damn good, and he makes your team a contender immediately. So I think that's -tations are low. So I think they will surprise and then you look at the Western Conference. I think we talk about how heavy how stack the Western Conference is often. I think that's a bit oversold, but to be honest, you look at some of these teams that you think LeBron's going to be worse than Utah. LeBron's going to be worse than Portland LeBron's going to be worse than Denver. Like I know they're good teams, young teams that are getting better, but he's LeBron James and he has a young good coach. Luke Walton wa think is flexible and smart enough to make this team good. I think expectations are low so they will surprise Molly. Where are you on this? They're going to surprise disappoint. What do we think? What do I think people are expecting? Tell me that for fifty wins is what the expectation is an wouldn't you agree make the Ryan that just came out, said that they were ninth in the Powell ratings, right? The ratings ESPN pirating said they're nice night than they're not yet pulling up pulling up the radio. That'd be about right because there's three Eastern Conference teams, so that would put them four, five, six in the state. I think the expectations are Western Conference finals and.

Stephen Curry of Golden State Warriors leaves, again, with injury to left knee
"The the news to come out the official word out of a golden state with the golden state warriors in the bay area because steph curry went down with an injury on friday night javale mcgee was steph curry's return from all the ankle injuries and the latest one that he's been dealing with javale mcgee going up to block a shot lands in and rolls into steph curry's knee very frustrated curry he walked off exited the game was held back to the locker room and the report is an mc l sprain but they're going to do an mri later on today and the no the the significance of the injury but it looked it looked a bit nasty and now the injury start to pile up and whatnot here was warriors head coach steve kerr after the game we'll see what the mri has tomorrow there's not a whole lot we can do or predict kind of a strange cruel twist of fate rehabs his ankle for last couple of weeks gets that strong and then the the knee goes so we'll see what happens we'll keep our fingers crossed he's in good spirits i did talk to him and he's he's disappointed but it's it's part of it so keep pushing and see how it goes tomorrow and then all in all he was hanging in there so it it just goes down i was talking about this earlier so we'll wait to see that the mri is with steph curry but it's it is crazy how in an entire year in the nba you're seeing steph curry deal with an injury you're seeing kyrie irving dealing with an injury you're seeing porzingus go down with.
