Because so many small businesses that had regional brick and mortar retail store outlets that. Just shut down on him and folks were were kind of on the fence prior to the pandemic called and said jason get amazon tomorrow. Can you help me so our business has been. I mean we keep up very hits been it's been You know a bittersweet story. It's good news that our businesses doing great as results pandemic. But it's been a really difficult time for everyone. Any recession is always winners. And there's losers. But i tell you one thing jason happen. This year that i never thought could happen in relation to amazon. I couldn't believe they couldn't deliver in two days. Came buried i. I made some predictions in early october. That fda and amazon delivery network was going to break. It ended up not breaking but they broke the post office. They bury them with so met much volume that they literally couldn't couldn't handle it and you're absolutely right. There were very few packages that were delivered to people's doors within two day window within that one day window even still though what they did. This holiday in terms of ramping up delivery final mile warehousing added fifty percent of square footage and like four months. I mean it's historic area. It's pretty incredible what they did so just recently announced. Jeff bezos is going to step down. Ceo and there was a joke on facebook. That says well i guess he's fully invested 401k. Now that's why he's stepping down. But one predictions you have for twenty twenty one with amazon given a new ceo and the hopefully the winding down of the pandemic. Yeah well you know. I hope jeff vases is going to be okay with the pay reduction. Moving from fulltime. Ceo to just executive chairman. You think you'll be okay hope but yeah you look i. I don't think that amazon is going to miss a beat. You know the minute. The announcement came out which by the way was interesting enough announced around the same time as their blow out. Whatever amazon looks like five ten years from now will have been developed from. Basil's mind so he's not going anywhere. He's just removing himself from some of the shall we say more uncomfortable task. It's going to land on jesse's lap in the next You know one to ten years. As i trust drums or are beating louder and louder. So let's talk about some of the trends that you've been discussing Tell us about how you think. Amazon is getting into healthcare. They are already in healthcare. I mean they're providing primary care for you know scores of their own employees tens of thousands of their employees they They famously removed themselves from joint venture with jamie diamond and berkshire hathaway recently In the rumors from within inside amazon at the reason they did that is because they were holding back and the amazon pharmacy group which spun up recently. we're saying we can't move fast you know. We can't move fast because we're being held up by chasing in berkshire hathaway. So i saw that. A lot of a lot of people in the press came out berry and said oh. This means amazon can't figure out healthcare. It's too difficult. It's too challenging. I didn't see that at all. I just saw that you know amazon. Saw this as cutting weight so that they can really focus on what they do. And that's innovate

"Right. Everyone i am here with jason galaxy. Jason is a software engineering manager at facebook. Jason welcome to the komo podcast. Thank you thank you so traveling museum a super excited to jump into this conversation. Let us start the way we always do. You share a little bit of your background. What got you started down. The path of working in a shore has a great question. So so i am for me computers. Where were sort of just amazing. You'll mysterious thing. I grew up you going to a lot of like thrift stores at garage sales and all of that with my folks in kind of a first generation college student and so so we found a computer in an old atari four hundred eight hundred outta garage sale. Now i remember Had just one kind of game on it and the game was called basic night thought. Oh let's plug. This had happened. And it was just a screen with weird. Weird letters and just blinking cursor. I was like wow this kind of different than Than pong or whatever. My cousin had i think he had a nintendo or whatever it was. Did you get the special basic keyboard with those clicky buttons. Oh so well. This atari had the keyboard kind of built day was the four hundred eight hundred. The keyboard is all kind of in the unit. Interest is so is like these really hard buttons you. You'd press it. And i think over time. Some of the button stopped working. So that really changed on my variable names were called and everything right What i had which was basic for the twenty six hundred which had separate accessory keyboard with trying to remember where you see those keyboards nowadays. Like it's the same kind of thing that you find on like a cheap remote. It's like cliquey plastic. Oh is it the one with the nine the like Because i know the two thousand six hundred had that nine almost like a telephone pad. It's something like well. If i'm thinking of the right thing. It was like in two pieces and a slit together and there was like yeah try americ- thing and like the mathematical symbols and like the other programming symbols and thought about this in longtime also. Yeah yeah so you always this this kind of thing. I mean you really never knew what you were going to expect. And if it felt totally magical and naturally what got me into it. I i remember. I made a an arm wrestling game. We're basically you'd have to hit the space bar a bunch of times and if you hit it fast enough you want at arm wrestling and it just kind of went from there of just always had a huge passion for it and one of the things have always been interested in is kind of like the whole turing test idea and even going beyond that sort of superhuman a and what that really means. And so you if you think about. Let's say computer vision. You have human level. I that is already pretty awesome. I maybe you could have superhuman. You could have a really eagle-eye vision but it's kind of like that's maybe less getting the human levels already ninety percent of the way there's already of the value But when i saw things. I read about things like deep blue. And he's these things that could do amazing kind of the decision making and strategic thinking that was really just ignited something and so after. I finished my studies. I decided to go get a phd focused on game playing in these economic simulations and things like that and so after i got my phd. In that i went to his working with some contractors for a while. Then i went to google research where continue to work on a decision making and doing strategic planning and all of that with the help of machines and then i have kind of worked my way into a facebook which is where i'm at now working on starting up this region team where we're trying to produce a decision making system for ultimately for the whole world like the think of the For decision making that people can just grab and go

Interview With Dr. Jason Fung

"Jason. Welcome back to the podcast. It's great to have you on paul. Thanks for having great to be here. We're gonna have a great discussion today. I really loved the new book. The cancer code. And i gotta admit when i dug into the book. It was really what i expected. I was thinking would be more along the lines of fasting. How that could help prevent maybe treat cancer given your background fasting but it was so much more than that. I mean that would have been a great book but this goes really deep into cancer and the evolution of our thinking of cancer over so many years so congrats. I really enjoyed this. Oh thank you very much. And i think that's sort of when i started looking at the issue of cancer. That was sort of how i got into it. Which is why you know most people. I would think think it's going to be about all about sort of fasting and nutrition and cancer but as done sort of deeper into the topic of cancer. There's just so much else going on because clearly cancer is a much more. Broad problem than just attrition because we know things like smoking for example has nothing to do with nutrition. What you eat if you smoke your risk of cancer just goes way way up saying with the best for example. You've exposed as fast as it doesn't really matter what you eat. You're you're great risk of developing a museum which is the type of lung cancer. So that's sort of while it was sort of how got into it as it developed as looking through it more became More and more the question which is never really answered. I think that is really important. Is the sort of how we think about what this problem really is. That is what is cancer. And that's i think one of the greatest remaining medical mysteries because most of these other diseases that we face we sort of know what's causing that. So even when we get a new virus like poof nineteen for example within a few months. We've got this virus like look you know it's still kicking our bod but we've sequenced. We figured it out. It's this is the virus. This is the sequence you know. The dna sequence. This is how it gets in. We've said okay it's the ace two receptors. You know you get at the site of storms. We know so much about it. Even within six months of this sort of brand new disease coming up which has greatest fascinating. Yeah something like hiv. For example it took us years to figure out the actual virus going from age hiv to sort of treatment whereas now you know thirty forty years down the line. We figured out what this virus looks like. We figured out know where detaches we figure so much. Stop so quickly but the problem is that with cancer. What is this disease. Such a strange disease because it's a common disease. It's the second biggest killer of americans yet. If you were to ask the question of what is this disease. People have no idea. Most experts have no idea like you ask the american cancer society and it says well. It's a disease of genetic mutations and that's not really correct because if it was simply a matter of genetics that is You know just bad luck genetically then. Why does environment play such a huge role in this genetic disease. That is if you have a disease. Such as cystic fibrosis sickle cell anemia. All these genetic diseases they passed on sort of mother to child or they have a significantly higher risk in we can identify the genes that are associated with it on the other hand. It doesn't matter if you're japanese if you're african if occasion If you smoke you're much more likely to get lung cancer. So it's not a genetic disease in that sense yet. People have been saying it's genetic disease donate disease and the problem with that. Is that if you don't understand what causes it. Your research sort of goes in the wrong direction that is looking for these genetic mutations and they progress in cancer has really slowed to a halt. Like if you think about how many genetic sort of tours for cancer we have. It's very very few the number of medications that makes a difference to cancer. You can count on one hand in most of those were developed in the early part of the sort of late nineties early two thousands rates with that was twenty years ago and whereas all these great genetic cures for cancer. We just don't see them in because it's not nearly a genetic disease and we have to sort of understand further and this is this is really an exploration of how the way we think about cancer has changed over the last little bit because there's been a huge paradigm shift from being a genetic disease tomorrow logical evolutionary disease which has huge implications for treatment.

Why You Should Stop Snacking And Start Fasting

"Hello Jason. Welcome to the PODCAST. Thanks for having me on. We're GONNA have a great chat I. Loved Your Latest Book that you co wrote with eve and Meghan, and this is titled Life in the Fast Lane. I'm curious to start. How does somebody WHO's a kidney specialists get? So interested in fasting as a subject yeah. That's a great question I think that what happened is that as? A kidney specialists, what I do is I see a lot of type two diabetics and as we've had this sort of increasing obesity epidemic since the nineteen seventies that sort of was followed by an epidemic of type two diabetes starting in the late nineteen eighties, nineteen nineties, and then type two diabetes is actually far and away the most common cause of kidney disease. So as you know we went into the two, thousand, two, thousand ten we started to see much more and more of type two diabetes related kidney disease. So I actually encountered it quite a bit and as it became more and more important part of my practice I started to think about weight loss because the entire way that we treat you know. Disease is sort of backwards that is if you look at type two diabetes related kidney disease, for example, we spend a lot of money and effort trying to design drugs and dialysis and all that sort of stuff. However, the actual treatment doesn't make sense because we have kidney disease from type two diabetes while the answers to how to get rid of it is. Telling you right there if you have if you don't have type two diabetes, then you can't get diabetic related disease and if you lose weight year type two diabetes will get better. So the real answer to this whole problem lies in getting to the root cause, which is the weight. If you lose weight, then you don't get the type two diabetes. You don't get the kidney disease and that's really the only good way to treat the disease yet as a medical profession nobody was interested. In weight loss and to a large extent nobis really interested. We started gave up this entire concept which is so important. So fundamental to human health because this is what we face in North America today, lot of problems of of touchy diabetes and obesity, and we gave it up to like you know weight watchers, Jenny Craig and all those sorts of things it's like that's fine but it's really an important subject. So that's when I started to look at the question of weight loss and When I looked at it was clear that there wasn't a lot of really good thinking in the area. The entire field was dominated by sort of calories in calories out theory that is you know we've all heard this before you know it's just a matter of eating fewer calories and exercising more like if you actually think about it for a little bit, it actually makes very little sense that is you know it's a very sort of simplistic argument because the question is not whether people are eating more calories or burning less calories. The question is sort of wire the eating mark how And why are they not burn as many calories and it turns out that the real answer to why we're gaining weight is more likely related to our hormones. Then the number of calories were eating as an example, you can eat two different foods of the same. The same number calories. So you could eat broccoli or you could drink Soda Strictly Soda. Well, it's very easy to gain weight if you're drinking soda. But almost nobody gained weight eating Broccoli. So the point is that for two foods that are the same calories they're completely different in the minute you put it in your mouth. The hormonal response to those two foods is completely and utterly different. So if the hormones different the hormonal instructions that we deliver to our body or going to be completely different. So a simple example as tidy if you drink sugary soda, there's almost no sitadi signalling. You don't feel full from drinking sugary soda yet if you eat a large number of calories of Broccoli or steak or any sort of real. Natural food you will get full. So that's a simple example of how the body responds to these calories to foods of equal calories but totally different response from our bodies, and therefore what's important is not just the number of calories that this sort of hormonal response and that's you know that's what I talk about. A lot of is this sort of trying to get to the root cause of what causes weight gain rather than this, very, very simplistic sort of calories in calories out model which to be honest hasn't really helped anybody that is it's in the standard sort of advice for. Doctors and Dietitians everybody to count your calories yet it almost helps nobody. So you know here we have a treatment which is counting calories and doing calorie restricted diets, which has a failure rate's probably on the order of ninety nine percent. So it's like why would that be standard treatment if the failure rates like ninety, nine percent I, it's not just my opinion you see it in the numbers like the numbers don't lie there's more and more obesity out there people try to lose weight they count their calories and they don't lose weight. So it's not a very good strategy from all sorts of from all angles

To Pay Off Your Houses or Focus on Saving

"Go now to Jason in Dallas Jason. Welcome to the show. How can I serve you today sir? Hey Josh good to be talking to you then. Listen to you for about Three years now under stuff. Thank you glad you hear. You hear me okay. Yes sounds good. Go ahead all right So I had a question about My wife and I plan for the next couple of years and just your financial advice and just with them on it So currently Between my wife and I Eighty grand a year. I make one hundred Between two jobs And we have a home Before the the cove it it would we could have sold it for thirty and we have ninety eight thousand left to pay out that was the BC before covert therefore Kovin. Exactly we We've been pretty aggressive on paying off our house and we're on a plan to pay it off by about the time next year With just been real good refer Rigel But with all of the economic impact of Corona we were thinking possibly shifting clan instead of paying off the how quickly as we can to Stockpiling that money and Popular another per how and running out our current one the Cabbie autism that makes all this kind of tricky is. We have our first child on the way due in October and By the end of the year my wife plan on quitting her job staying home with kid and starting our family so that would drop and come down to a hundred a year and then now we're we're between would be able to rent out our current house and have a you know enough money for another house. Russ move into when our current wrench would cover. our mortgage since we have a fifteen year mortgage That clear now so the the specific question is. Should we buy rental at this point in time? Is that the basic question. Our dreams have two three acres and nigger home rate. More kids up what we WANNA move into. And we don't know whether to stay with our specific plan to pay off our house And then stock pile up money to try to get into that that next ten fifteen year house Or Save the money now and look for the opportunity in the midst of this. I would not pay off extra. I would not focus on paying off my house right now. Especially if you've previously thought about working in a working on a plan where you're going to purchase investment property. I'm all for having paid off houses but I think that it makes more sense for you to start. If you're if you're interested in owning rental property I think it makes much more sense for you to start by building up a rental portfolio early in life setting up that setting that in place you can have your tenants paying off your rental mortgages for you and then go to paying off your house and paying off the market paying off the rental units when you look at where we are right now I don't see any benefit of your having paid off house. I do see you're having a benefit of you're having a lot of money in the bank and so what I would do is just be clear. That was that was that was an inaccurate statement. If Your House word today totally paid off then it would be helpful. It would be beneficial but right now if you lost your job and you instead of having a ninety eight thousand dollar mortgage you have an eighty eight thousand dollar mortgage. You're not helped by just simply having a slightly lower mortgage Balance What you need is money in the bank. And so when we're in an emergency like we are right now. The first thing I do is stop all debt. Payoff just start stockpile cash and then wait and see wait and see what opportunities emerge now. I think there will be quite a few opportunities to invest in real estate very productively and profitably in the coming years and so that would be my plan. Is I think that one of the most important things with real estate in order for realistic to work effectively. You've got a you. Can you can often find a deal. But there are times when it's a lot easier to find deals than others and depending on the market that you're in the market simply haven't been deals available over last couple of years. I've known a lot of real estate. Investors said. I can't find anything worth investing in now if this recession goes according to normal normal recessions than starting six months from now a year from now there's going to be a lot of distrust sellers and that's means that there's going to be a lot of opportunities for real estate investment and so if you can maintain your income and if you can have savings that's the time to start expanding that portfolio the other thing that makes me say that is with regard to timing is two to three to three acres in the country. Bigger House Great. You don't need it with a baby. You don't need it right now. You need it in five years and so what I would do is I would set out a five year. Plan to buy five rental houses in the next five years and then go ahead and once you bought those five rental houses in the next five years then make the switch to the two to three Acre. You know farm at out on the edge of town or the big big old farmhouse because a five year old will actually use that. You don't need that at this stage of life and so I'd I'd keep on investing. I'd stop the early pay off and I look for deals. If no deals emerge and you're you're you're you're from now and you got ninety eight thousand dollars in the bank in destroyed a check and and pay off the mortgage but I think you'll start to see some deals that will entice you to invest

Travel to Costa Rica

"To the amateur traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen before we get into this week's episode. I do want to say something about the corona virus epidemic. Which is what's going on as I record this. I also put this in the amateur traveler facebook group but I know that. Not all of your in there. I want you to know what my plan is. So many of you I am sheltering in place and I am not traveling because it's the right thing to do these days but I won't be blogging and podcasting about coveted Nineteen Ama- traveler. I'm not a medical expert. You don't need my opinion. We did do one episode of this week and travel. Because it's news but that's really all I'm going to do about this and I'm really of the opinion that this will get better. I don't know how long but sometime we will get back to work. And things will return to normal and travel will return to normal whatever normal looks like and so. I'm going to be looking ahead. I'm going to be helping you dream of better days. I know for some of you. That's not what you're looking for now. If you unsubscribe because this isn't the right time for you to be thinking about travel no problem. I understand but that's what we're going to be doing here and I just didn't want to catch you by surprise it's not that I'm totally clueless about what's going on that being said. Let's talk about Costa Rica. I'd like to welcome the show. Sam and Jason. From my ten feet dot com who've come talk to us about Costa Rica Salmon and Jason. Welcome to the show. Hello Chris Thank you for having us and Salmon Jason our friends. I think we met in Philippines on a press trip. I WANNA say ten years ago so I don't remember exactly when we met the first time but someone actually pitched me doing Costa Rica but two of the bloggers that I know. Who are the experts on? Costa Rica Are Salmon? Jason and they make a living basically from this and from helping people figure out what to do in Costa Rica's so let's start with the obvious. Why should someone go to Costa Rica? Costa Rica offers a lot of things to do for people who want to experience nature because Costa Rica's known as a very ECO friendly sustainable destination. It's very green country in every sense of that word yes exactly. They protect over twenty five percent of their land actually in so for anyone who wants to experience nature whether they love I watching or hiking or even a beach vacation to see a volcano experienced rainforest particularly has got it all in that sense and when it comes to countries in Central America Latin America is very safe. It's very popular for travelers in the US in now more in Europe and they're very friendly people in they're very welcoming so Costa Rica's even a destination for people who have never been outside traveled internationally because of the excellent. And what kind of are you going to recommend for someone who let's say it's their first time in Costa Rica? I most people they land in San Jose. International Airport in this is because this is the biggest international airport so they have more flights schedules. And then for the first time itinerary something I would really recommend is and then you go to Fortuna I in La. Fortuna is a city what they call northern lowlands and it is home to the. Arina volcano very close to lake are now which is the biggest man-made Lake in Costa Rica and also a lot of rainforest around and so a lot for tonight is known as the adventure capital of Costa. And you can do pretty much all the adventures you could once. They're so whitewater rafting canyoning zip-lining very popular hiking because of the rainforest is nature. There's a lot of wildlife can see a lot of birds monkeys and floss and it's a very good destination for families or for Solo travelers. Because you find everything from ten dollars. Abed a night till eight hundred dollars a night so you have super budget to the super luxury. We'll I in. This is what we did when we were in Costa Rica. The first time you didn't stop us in San Jose to do anything and that is pretty typical for Costa Rican itineraries. Well craze the reason why well Waco streak is. We don't do that well. Actually the government is trying to make the capital Prettier Bad the truth is that the traffic is terrible. Whenever you work the tourism industry you don't one on a generic going through San Jose because traffic jams are getting very bad. I believe that every single city on the world is having this problem so ideas or packages that you find like San Jose jewel probably stay one or two nights and then you might see one or two activities on the whole day and I will say the main reason is the traffic well and I was not surprised that you did not suggest that but I did want to point it out because somebody may be looking at an itinerary that somebody else creates for them and I wanted them to know the difference. Well now that you mentioned that this is actually something that I have noticed. Recently especially with people from Mexico. We got a lot of direct flights from Mexico in a notice that a lot of Mexicans in some sense they liked to stay in San Jose and they do a lot of one day. Trips is a lot of time on the buzz things that I don't actually recommend by opinion is a waste of time. I mean if you WANNA go to a game is not fun to spend four hours in the boss three hours and then go back for our sped. Believe it or not. This is a new thing we saw last year so meant that I was with a lot of people asking in. Actually we work with companies that do one day tours and many people they liked to be in bosses nowadays. I don't know whoever's listening to this podcast if you love to stay in a positive things house in one day trips but we don't recommend you to do that. The only things that I can think of that are close enough that I would do that. As there's a couple of the coffee plantations that I think are close and the river rafting in that area is fairly close to center. Say but I can't think of anything else that I really would want to see in Costa Rica. That San Jose would be where I would base myself. I think it's a lot of people they come to Experienced two major because it doesn't really sell itself it city city life economic in the city. They do have some nice cultural sites. They have a national theatre. They have a few really nice museums. But it's so small. It's not a big city so honestly see the city in a day and you can go to the neighborhood. That has a lot of good restaurants. You can get really good feel for in just one day and you don't need more than that really as if you were in New York City Madrid or not as much to do which I think is part of the reason why a lot of Timorese. Un in San Jose many sleeve. Right away yeah. I don't think I've been in San Jose. Costa Rica twice. So yeah so unless if you are dying like really really keen on experiencing city life you really don't have much time and something to mention Kristie. You mentioned the Quad River. Which is the most popular Whitewater rafting? The we have here in Costa Rica. A lot of people what they do is they take that tour as a way of transportation so for example. If you're planning to go to La Fortuna or you're planning to three Korean site so he's very very very common people book the Touri- Apple say but they ask to be drop off either for tuna or decree inside or they can bring you back to say but that will save you now your dad with many other attractions if you go to well. In this case the EPA quad as is closer Korean site. So from that location you can go through two different locations so the Costa Rican tourism industry. They know that so. What they do is is that it's transferred tour with four or five hours activities. Very bubbler any works very well here. Sure can do. The two are from laugher tuna or the Caribbean works. Both ways so very much like you can take a whole day for instead of traveling traveling in rafting

"Jason welcome because because this is the first time you actually talked publicly about this particular situation you've talked with family and friends about it what's been the reaction usually either people are like really into it and leave me or are they just like I'm crazy one we'll talk about your scariest siding in just a moment but first you tell me about several pretty bizarre sightings and happenings around this area in East Tennessee in recent years around a place called sharps chapel yeah and also it emerges over into a place called Edwards hollow born and raised first Chasin I want you to set the stage for our coast listeners tell us just a little about yourself and how you got interested in all the strange history about these creatures that people seemingly just wish for about there's a lot of strange things that I was a kid I would go down and sit on the store front with the with me and I never had friends my age and now we hear a lot of the me and tell stories about what would happen to own about painters in in buyers and what not and in a lot of spiritual stuff to you how many strange events around that area have you personally witnessed own lan particular form I grew up on you know I was all time home buyer was the **** it so I ran into quite a bit of things and this is same lack is the same animal pretty much every time something weird would happen out of ordinary on the farm we have an artist rendering of this creature you saw that you're sharing with this link up on our coast website tonight and you say this local artist who drew this says that this is not the first time she's had a request like this no other people saying this creature before them sales and they didn't have a picture of it you know so they told her a description of what they sell and they actually paid her to grow it out so they can put it in their personal collection for lawyers so they wouldn't forgive your we want to look like Jayson described this creature and your encounter with is that you say was the scariest thing that has ever happened to you well I was looking for my horses and I couldn't find them and I actually had a raffle with me and I was all a logging road walking back out and I heard a horse's Miami so I thought well we're turnaround hit back that way when I needed her so to walking on the hilltop move me in the grass leaves and it seemed like it was pretty much following me every time I walk it would well when I would stop it would stop so when you're walking along the logging road you said you had a sense that there was something stopping you tell me about that well I'm not a hunter I were laughing and total loss by you like it is this is most curious use your ray is and what I looked I saw old pretty much to deliver court you with your travel where will fares he wouldn't pointing towards me with broad sad paying pretty much you're looking in the furrow and slam at the bank and it was on all fours on a fair shot I looked at turned his head looked at me and want to do that and I mean I just scared me today and I'm planning anyway this thing looked at me and I actually took my gonna open I have a scope on again it was getting close the door on that point disco band it's funny stratus the exactly what it was and they just go black well actually pulled apart in and seated with the scope and then I went back down to where I Love Me you read only say it not shot it and hit record up and what role now in a thirty foot embankment they make some pretty crazy squall and always it was a kick in a flop and you know and they're pretty much say like I got a good the he got down to the bottom of the hill and you could make a noise at all well I jumped up on curry's don't name was named better food off the ground the league's so nothing can hear me and I waited for to bleed out because I didn't know what exactly did the running over run or just stand there but ending time was get away I mean it was really dark by the time I decide to run now they're paying as I jumped office stuff and take off running towards the ATV there was another one came from the other side and I'm sure it had to be a second one because like I said it was so grab there there's no way that you can hear yeah sneak around somebody what I hear in the lease crackling you know were you sure that you were shooting at an animal rather than any kind of human that might have been dressed up or something of that nature hello you can tell it wouldn't know animal hair no human you could tell it was there was an animal of some sort and you know it was too big for human like there's no way and he was probably five food to the shoulders and head down on for hours you know and when it rare to not say it was at least you know wider demand for you tell your best guess Jason what category canine feline or whatever would you put that creature and well to be honest we I don't think it's in any of those categories but it did look canine looking when I first saw it when something stands if you know ten feet tall it's kind of hard to say it's in the canine category I've seen five different painters of the my lifetime and I've seen a big one and the same little ones and this thing is way more aggressive in quite a bit bigger than a plant or whatever thing about being what would you think it might be I don't think it was some kind of a hybrid creature to be honestly I I don't think it the I don't think it's no kind of natural animal was so weird because I've been with my whole life and never seen nothing like that how else would you describe it I would describe the facial features is a really long knows it's ours were kind of now low with a nose landing in his ears really stand out I mean they were being the years were and they were terrible kind of twist like a horse would you know they wouldn't completely stationary did you feel you were being chased by it when you shot at it well known thank you was as I was the hard hit was we just crossed the jurors prior while lose in woodland near I think they can smell pretty much what you got on to you and it probably knew I had a rifle what kind of sounds did it make when you shot at it well in the sales and it made me wonder Roshan here what role over that banks will only black a hog and roar like a bear and two dollars flat note saying time if you can kind of picture that sale let's do hitmaker higher stand on the back you making it for sure what kind of reaction to the horses have when this happens well the horses took off running because they were pretty a ways down below me and we actually had as a chase between the four Wheeler and horses trying to get through the gate so you get there the first the they actually making to the gate and I was pushing pretty hard I wanted Ellis situation so in the race to the gate between you and the horses how did that turn out models pretty much behind the horses the whole way and I mean just within arms reach yeah when when I was still on rocks and dirt my face and I don't know if it was scared mad as I was around pushing him pretty hard once we got through the gate the horses went on down to the field and Iran ATV over against the bank so I wouldn't have to park or anything well I jumped up and sure to get back in as I was getting back only TV I can hear rules it will still come and this was like six record away how fast did this creature moves when it ran a DV eight around thirty forty mile they're pretty easy and nothing was keeping up with it you told me that it looked like a wolf man or were Walsh something like a war wolf might look like yeah and it's it's faces would be what you would see on a wire what kind of movie as the next day it was kind of a bit different than what the movies with projected date is and he did have a table is a big long bushy tail his nose was probably about a foot long six inches tall and I'm not really sound old piece or anything like that and you can imagine am one thousand will have quite a bit of teeth and which we've had animals killed by and whenever we inspected the dead bodies the back of their necks would be way from saliva and their next would be broke and one being held I don't know why I never could understand why they would only be one hole in the jugular part of the night and not to you but I guess the hand of that thing is so weak just to buy you know when there's quite a bit bigger hallway the picture the end so when was this this was a two thousand eight it was light file you were by yourself correct there weren't any other witnesses no no we wouldn't anybody with me and like I say it it was just pretty much assume all day on the farm going looking for the horses and as this year's number remain to woke up on something might there did leave a name brand in your mind and your life did you ever call the game warden when any of these sightings happened albeit but they all took it as a joke a lot of times they wouldn't even come out or anything but I did have one game warden he came out and check the situation now when I had some last on the field and it was dead bodies form to examine instead of locked it to you so he came out not showing the tracks and he'd never seen anything like that before so he didn't know what to tell me it was later I never actually got no professional at Luke field did you have any any impression of the pop prince well yes they were pretty much about the sound of a two liter bottle and it was kinda roundish shape and the pay and in the center of the pile was a triangular shape with the corners rounded off in the total part was teardrop shaped and the clouds part was pretty much big around as a number two pencil so in all how many different creatures have you seen and have you had reports from your friends are people you know in the area I've got six different neighbors they have saying pretty much the same thing I have those sometimes they describe a little different the colors are still the girls sometime you know most time incident matin relate and is trying to pack animals and things of that nature the other six different neighbors are saying have you heard of any other bizarre encounters for other people in that area you you mentioned that a person you had to have been talking with about all of this said something and throwing rocks at him well yeah I actually had moon experience mostly affirm we was then in the bottom of the driveway.

the hand of that thing is so we just to buy you know when there's quite a bit bigger hallway with me and so when was this this was a two thousand eight it was late fall you were by yourself correct there weren't any other witnesses no no we wouldn't anybody with me and like I say it it was just pretty much assume all day on the farm going looking for the horses and as this year's number remain they describe a little different the colors are still the girls sometime you know most time incident matin relate and is trying to pack animals and things of that nature the other six different neighbors are saying have you heard of any other bizarre encounters for other people in that area you you mentioned that a person you had just been talking with about all of this said something and throwing rocks at him well yeah I actually had moon experience myself we was then in the bottom of the driveway and then my girlfriend's now in my day to stand there and we can appear so make known a tree and not my did you Hey listen there's a big fruit tree knocking will haul it warms losing my rock probably five or six pounds came flying to her feet up in this hillside landed right beside a listen and we look to these are live we can even leave always now you're not normally a person who's afraid of very much are you know and when I'm in the woods I'm at home you know how lonely more in the mood and I like it down on the farm working on the tractor and above cadences if you had it to do over again would you do the same thing well no I don't think I would shoot unless it actually came at me or something I believe I would keep Tyson and walking away because a friend of mine that has had other experiences like and he's had a lot more experience of the many he told me that if you turn around that's pretty much of their sentence for you so I don't think you would get aggressive toward me if I hate and showed the obviously after Andy and the fight was pretty much only and I'm glad I believe I would keep my face toward and while back we're doing canister yeah but girls if you don't wanna fight no big when you know what we're gonna close listeners get in touch with you if they have information to share with you about other mysterious sightings either around sharps chapel like that or maybe even somewhere else is similar to your siding well Monday you have Facebook and I'll have a Facebook page and the people can send me messages the flicker and him being the creatures are sharp chapel thank you so much Jason for sharing the stories of the creatures of sharps chapel with us whatever they were or what ever they are he sounds like the real deal Cheryl does only here's a very descriptive to an adjacent hallway that he estimated this creature to weigh between four and five hundred pounds and when it's all on all fours is back as he said was about five feet high at the shoulders and about ten feet tall when it stood and as someone who has owned a lot of livestock over the years Jason said is pretty accurate when estimating animal weight and size as farmers are in bad away he said he never thought he would talk publicly about this is really a pretty shy person it wasn't easy for him to do to talk about this publicly but now that he has he hopes other people who are afraid to share their strange siding secrets for fear no one will believe them or think they're they're crazy will feel more comfortable now talking openly about him after hearing his story about their personal and counters because we really do need to know more about what is really out there and at least the sharps chapel an adwords hollow the werewolf was out of the bag so what's your gut tell ya in the sure well I guess I'm thinking the real question here George may be is the this is such a strange and unknown universe that we live in are these native born creatures or could they native born earth creatures are could they possibly be occasional visitors from another dimension or a parallel universe but I believe I believe Jason Davis the story because I've heard a lot of these kinds of stories but this one was certainly more descriptive and up close and personal when he said basically he looked.

that you say was the scariest thing that has ever happened to you well I was looking for horses and I couldn't find them and I actually had a raffle with me and I was all a logging road walking back wooden point towards me with broad sad tangy and pretty much you're looking in the furrow and slim at the bank and it was on all fours when I first saw it look man turned his head and looked at me and want to do that and I mean it just scared me today is only on you anyway this language to me and I actually took my gun up and I had a scope on again I was getting close the door when I point disco band it's funny Stratasys exactly what it was and they just go blank well I actually pulled up higher than its aid with the scope and then I went back down to where I Love Me you read only say it not shot it and hit record up and what role now in a thirty foot embankment they make some pretty crazy squall and always it was a kick in a flop when you know when they're pretty much say like I gotta do the he got down to the bottom here just quit making noise at all well I jumped up on a tree stump name was things about a foot off the ground leagues so nothing could hear me and I waited for to bleed out because I didn't know what exactly did the running over run or just stand there blending time was get away and it was really dark by the time I decide to run out of their pain as I jumped office don't take off running towards the ATV there was another one came from the other side and I'm sure it had to be a second one because like I said it was so grab there no way that you get here yeah sneak around somebody what I hear and lease crackling you know were you sure that you were shooting at an animal rather than any kind of human that might have dressed up or something of that nature hello you can fill it with no animal or no human you could tell it was name was animal of some sort and you know it was too big for human like there's no way and he was probably fast food to the shoulders and head down on for hours you know and when you say it was at least you know waiter can freak out your best guess Jason what category canine feline or whatever would you put that creature and well to be honest with you I don't think it's in any of those categories but it did little canine looking when I first saw it when something stands up you know ten feet down it's kind of hard to say it's in the canine category pressing five different painters of their my lifetime and I've seen the big one and then I'll sing little ones and this thing is way more aggressive in quite a bit bigger than a painter and everything about being what would you think it might be I don't think it was some kind of a hybrid creature to be honestly I I don't think it's the I don't think it's no kind of natural animal was so we're workers I've been with my whole life and never seen nothing like that how else would you describe it I would describe the facial features is a really long nose its eyes were kind of now local black with a nose landing in his ears really stand out and I mean they were being the years were and they were terrible Jenna twist like a horse would you know they wouldn't completely stationary did you feel you were being chased by yet when you shot at it well no I think it was as I was the hot it was we just crossed eaters prior while we was in woodland near I think they can smell pretty much what you got on to you and it probably new arrival what kind of sounds did it make when you shot at it well the sales it made me wonder Roshan here what role over that banks will only black a hold and roar like a bear and two dollars flat note saying time if you can kind of picture that saying let's do to help make your hair stand on the make you make that's for sure what kind of reaction to the horses have when this happened well the horses took off running because they were pretty a ways down below me and we actually had as a chase between the four Wheeler and horses trying to get to the gate so you get there the first of the they actually making to the gate and I was pushing pretty hard I wanted Ellis situation so in the race to the gate between you and the horses how did that turn out models pretty much behind the horses the whole way in I mean just within arms reach you have on my wrist on rocks and dirt my face and I don't know if it was here is bad as I was around pushing him pretty hard once we got through the gate the horses when I'm down to the field and I ran a TV over against the bank so I wouldn't have to park or anything what jumps out and sure to get back in as I was getting back only TV I can hear whatever that creature was it will still come and this was like six record away have fasted this creature movement ran I deviate around thirty forty mile they're pretty easy and nothing was keeping up with it you told me that it looked like a wolf man or war Walsh something like a war wolf might look like yeah and it's it's faces would be what you would see on a wire was in a movie picture day is but the next day it was kind of a bit different than what the movies were projected date is and he did have a table is a big long bushy tail his nose was probably about a foot long six inches tall and I'm not really sound teeth or anything like that and you can imagine am one thousand will have quite a bit of teeth and which we had animals killed by man whenever we inspected the dead bodies the back of their necks with the way it from saliva and their next would be broke in one big hole I don't know why I never could understand why they would only be one hole in the jugular part of the night and not to you but I guess the hand of that thing so we just about you know when there's quite a bit bigger hallway the picture to be in some when was this this was two thousand eight it was light file you were by yourself correct there weren't any other witnesses no no we wouldn't anybody with me and like I say it was just pretty much a normal day on the farm going looking for the horses and that's this year's number remain double global something like they did leave an imprint in your mind and your life did you ever call the game warden when any of these sightings happened albeit but they all took it as a joke a lot of times they would even come out or anything but I did have one game warden he came out and check the situation out when I had some last all get killed and their bodies form to examine and stuff like that to you so he came out not showing the tracks and he'd never seen anything like that before so he didn't know what to tell me it was later I never actually got no professional at Lucas did you have any any impression of the pop prince well yes they were pretty much about the sound of a two liter bottle and it was kind of around the shape and the pay and in the center of the pile was a triangular shape with the corners rounded out in the total part was teardrop shaped and the call part was pretty much big around as a number two pencil so in all how many different creatures have you seen and have you had reports from your friends or people you know in the area I've got six different neighbors they have same pretty much the same thing I have those sometimes they describe a little different the colors and stuff because sometimes you know most time isn't matin relate in is trying to pack animals and things of that nature but six different numbers assessing have you heard any other bizarre encounters for other people in that area you mentioned that a person you had just been talking with about all of this since something and throwing rocks at him well yeah I actually had more experience mostly affirm we will stand in the bottom of the driveway and my girlfriend sometime Monday the centenarian we can appear so make known a tree and I made the joke that Hey listen there's big foot tree knocking well hi all at once there was a rock probably five or six pounds come flying to her feet out from his heels and landed right beside a listen and we look to these are live we can even leave always now you're not normally a person who's afraid of very much are you know in common with them at home you know I'm not lonely more in the woods and I like it down on the floor working on the tractor and above cadences if you had it to do over again would you do the same thing no no I don't think I would shoot it unless it actually came at me or something I believe I would keep facing it and walking away because a friend of mine that has had other experiences like and he's had a lot more experience of the many he told me that if you turn around this pretty much of a sentence for you so I don't think it will get aggressive toward me if I hate and showed the obviously after I need and the fight was pretty much only and I'm glad I believe I would keep my face toward and while back we're doing canister yeah because if you don't want five don't pick one you know we're gonna cost listeners get in touch with you if they have information to share with you about other mysterious sightings either around sharps chapel like that or maybe even somewhere else is similar to your signing you have Facebook and I'll have a Facebook page in the people can sing the masses the flicker and him being the creatures are sharp chapel thank you so much Jason for sharing the stories of the creatures of sharps chapel with us whatever they were or what ever they are he sounds like the real deal Cheryl doesn't any very descriptive to an adjacent home with it he estimated this creature to weigh between four and five hundred pounds and when it's all on all fours it's.

"Handle on the log marginal legal advice Jason welcome to the show what can I do for you I had a question about defamation of character flaws that that it was plans while in the next thirty to sixty days they relate to statements hang on a minute while we were when we went hang on a minute I I didn't hear that the other part while what's happening in the next thirty to sixty days I'm planning on filing their civil law okay affirmation okay so what happened this person claimed that I raped her and forced her to get an abortion and I told many many people that you're right that's a major problem one more thing is this person also had another person that was involved with both me and her while it was still a vastly claim to kind of glass damage to a character but the statute of limitations has already expired on that one the interesting thing about this issue for me is that in September of last year this person who filed that case against me agreed to meet with me and provided me with information basically that this person is going around saying that that I had that rate this person or a whole I didn't get it I don't understand who this person is is out the woman who is accusing you of the rape now that that this personal zero now is the person you filed a realist okay and so when I saw him gets but which who is not the person that's accusing you the what does not get the person's using your break but someone else yes okay I'm a little confused this person this person this person all right so I who is actually saying that you were raped her and forced the abortion it was a passer manta partner having that we were having nothing to do with those two people no it's a person number one guy you're right I'm so confused all right it is defamation right on its face and especially if she has told people and published it or send out emails what's your question at I'm not sure how to complicate **** damage I don't either I don't either but it's but there is it's straight defamation and you're right it's it is difficult to compute damages which is why what I would do is talk to a lawyer who has done these and not talk about computing damages because I can't tell you but IT service based on what you said if someone accuses you of rape and forcing you to have an abortion which is kind of interesting I don't know how quite you for someone to have an abortion without tying her up putting error in hand cuffs Hollinger off to an abortion clinic or doctor strapping her down and say okay do the abortion short of that I don't quite know how you for someone to have an abortion I anyway talk talk to a lawyer good handle on the law dot com I talked to I guess a lawyer who does defamation and I see what you got there certainly do a cease and desist and and you have the issue of she's not enough who who knows who takes her seriously but as a matter either way itself is defamation all right Jody hello Jody all right yes ma'am my husband purchased a time share okay it was in the name of he and his former wife and their divorce of the property was given to him so my question yeah when he died do I have an obligation to mention is it just in his name it's well it's in both of their names yeah I don't I'm her name I don't think you have an obligation I would say no let them go ahead and try to sue you how close is heated up denying how close is he to dying well he's eighty so he's not going to last forever now but is the reason Izzy reasonably healthy yes okay so how badly do you want out of the time share well I'm going to keep it until you know so there I was going to get a I was gonna get excited about how badly you wanted out then we talk about okay what can you do your husband to sort of speed up the process but no online is no I don't think you're going to be liable I don't think they're going to be filing a lawsuit Laurie hi Laurie yes ma'am my name on the law yes my my husband and his sister purchase property back in the sixties my husband has five children the sister zero we were married in ninety one he passed away two years ago we were not living together at the time but we were legally married and I have a couple questions one is can one of the kids forced the sale of the property probably I mean I assume there's a well correct nope there was no will at all that anybody open up a probate nope okay so it's just all right so just his name is on the deed as the owner of the property correct and a sister and his sister and his sister's still around and she yes okay and where the joint tenants no he lived there no no no no were they joint tenants on the deed yes okay so with the sister now owns the property that's all the kids can't do Jack so yeah this is about me you can't do anything either not me the sister owns the property upon hearing in his name right he and his sister's name a joint tenancy just transferred over to the living joint tenant you're out you're out of luck okay but what happens in the sister would pass before they get the living trust complete what happens to it then well be if they get the living trust it's just her because she owns the property right okay and if it turns out that she dies it's her kids they get it zero kids then it is the closest relative to her and sister in law does not cut it wow so so his rights to the property left with him yeah his right to the property left immediately L. upon his death that went to the sister he has nothing more to do with it okay yeah you're in luck you're screwed I know you I get that I don't like it I know you want the money by go figure rob hello rob welcome him along along sh Hey I have a hearing coming up about because you for my three children and eight the judge has come back and bring your evidence to substantiate your claims about her do I have to provide a list of who's coming to this hearing sure or or or what they're going to say now what they're going to say but you can bring in these are the witnesses that I'm going to bring sure they have to help you can't you can't just let people at the for the hearing pardon Jack replied that before the hearing yes yes you do you can't just say oh by the way I am someone else and I want to bring in doesn't work that way Andrea by Andrea yes I yeah you're you're not on any speaker phone are you okay thank you I'm in my car okay link are you excited to come to your mind all right so transaction and I am so excited to barely understand you because the line is so crappy all right what can I do for you my dear okay I want to know how much how are you the child okay you wonder how much power does and does an executor half so what's going on your sister I think your way and she let out they are you know what I mean I I'm I I'm I'm having a very difficult time understanding you and if I'm having a hard time understanding I can't even imagine the people out there with these little crappy radios are understanding so you have to call back are you know sorry about that all right Christy hello Christy Europe welcome to handle on the law you know how are you excellent couldn't be better phenomenal families good dog is good even though I don't have a dog what can I do for you I was wondering my ex husband lied out child support I for lack of a better term hearing of course you said he only made so much and he but I have proof that I found online where he sells a lot of very very high end hard can I take you back a lot of the case yes yes you can you betcha you can take him back and if you have proof that he's lied he's looking at some reliability you can't lie to the court you can't lie about assets you can't lie about income so the answer is yes you can open it up and you're gonna have won his stop judge at.

"Gift cards and eliminate the need for plastic gift cards, ladies and gentlemen. I have known Jason photo while we were both winners of the most and young entrepreneur of the year program. And then be connected through an alumni program for this for the for the winners. I got to connect with them for a few years. And there was a few years. I didn't see him very much. And then I recently ran into him at was the steel bridge labs opening and then be connected and now. He curious on the show. Jason welcome to the show. Thank you. Roger great to see you again. Yeah. Great to see you. I tell you Jason. When when when I read your bio online, there's not many people, I know who've undergone adversity like you just heard your story. Mike on a bus with people getting killed know, those are all challenges that I said, but you and rocky Blair rocky was on a few weeks ago. You guys are exceptional. And I said this earlier in my show orphanage ages six and then bouts of homelessness in your twenties. And then a car accident that required two spinal surgeries. Let's go back to your childhood. Sure. So what was the the orphan at age of six? Yeah. So, you know, the word orphan is not really used anymore. And really the definition is kids with one parent. And so my father round six years old five or six years old left us, my mother had mental illness, and she was in a mental institution. And my dad couldn't take it. He actually worked on CIA. So we're living right outside of Washington. DC in a town called reston, my dad's boss was George Bush senior normal life Milan was a beauty Queen and everything was normal. And my mother had an breakdown and. And my dad couldn't take it loaded the kids up drove us up to Connecticut dropped us off at the grandparents and disappeared. The mother gets out of the mental institution. We'll go back and live with her. She could barely take care of us were on welfare. And she tells us our data's debt. I grew up thinking he was dead. As you know, as happenstance has it we were in a Catholic school for one year. And the non told my mother about a school in Hershey Pennsylvania started by the founder of the Hershey chocolate company. Right. And so, you know in one thousand nine hundred nine Milton, and Catherine I started a school for orphans. Okay. And when she died in one thousand nine hundred seventeen he essentially never got remarried. And when he died he died in nineteen forty five he left his entire fortune sixty million at the time today, it's fifteen billion to the trust. So every time you buy Hershey. Chocolate bar. Seventy six percent of the voting. Shares are owned by the trust is helping two thousand kids while. Yeah, they're disadvantage in the definition of orphan has changed. And now it's disadvantaged children. It turns out my father was alive. I found out in college and he lives in New Zealand. He still lives in the okay with all there was some shooting your two days ago. I don't know about that. Because I I did see feet on a, but I didn't get a chance to look into it. But yeah, he he was fine. And he ended up teaching computer science classes out of university of Otago, and I just recently retired two years ago in Auckland or in a place called Dunedin its in the South Island, South Island. It's not Christ Church. Right. South of Christ. Okay. Okay. So that was that was how I got to the school is because of non told my mother, and I went down there and took the test was a boy squad at the time. My sister couldn't get in my brother failed the test. I passed they left me there. And I remember the day September twentieth. Nineteen eighty when my mother and my grandparents walked away and left me and founder saw. And I didn't know what's going on. That was it. So I grew up there living in a house with sixteen boys milking cows, and you know, eventually graduated with a suitcase close one hundred bucks. But thank God for Milton Hershey. Wow. Wow. What an in. But when I read online, you got a number of articles in with what what is it entrepreneur fortune. Now, you say that you know, sort of gave you the character to to forge showed what did you take away from that school? Okay. So here I go from living idealistic life with very intelligent father. And my mother was a beauty Queen in Virginia to go into living on welfare, and and having no hidden house so going from this environment to being very very poor now sort of a militaristic environment. So I feel as though over the course of my childhood. I got a chance I got a privilege of living different lives of living a fortunate life. Living poor life and living a disciplined militaristic life, which instilled in me some of the characteristics. I think that we talk about with entrepreneurs that allowed me to be successful. Okay now. And then from there you go to bouts of homelessness. Well, you graduate from her. She will suitcase a close one hundred bucks back in nineteen eighty-seven. You really have nowhere to go unless you have family. A lot of the kids had nowhere to go. I eventually put myself through college. I get involved in some bad things. Because what does an eighteen year old do that has nowhere to go onto they do, you know, and I won't get into that on this show, but I was able to eventually put myself through college, and I found myself bartending and guiding on the river, and I was in an accident nineteen ninety-five, unfortunately, had major spinal surgery the girl I was living with at the time. I think is talking about this internet thing. And I've spent a lot of time because I couldn't really drive and I was trying to figure out what's going on. And she I think thought this was sort of like the CB radio. Okay. Well, back in one thousand nine nobody knew exactly really honest. And so I was putting a coupon site on and I had nowhere to live. And basically I lived out of my car. So I took my nineteen probably eighty something eighty four Jeep, and I would pull down the streets and shady side and sleep. And that's well it was. Wow. And I was working to try to build this coupon site. And fortunately, I had a friend at the time. His name was Chris Spencer, and he had a company called wizards software. Okay. And he was running his business out of his apartment, and they had he had a little area and a quarter. He said I could put a desk. And fortunately, it was an apartment he wasn't staying there. But at night, I'll take a shower there. And I would work out of that. And eventually moved out of the Jeep and into an apartment and. Yeah. And and then and then you self taught yourself how and that's my bag. Yeah. And so you read books. Well, you know, I do believe that God is involved in my life. I am a very big believer in that. And now, I was not a software guy. But somehow I was able to learn how to code. I bought some books at at you, probably remember CompUSA, and I bought learning Perl in twenty one days building, the perfect website learning HTML. And so, yeah, I taught myself how to code, and I create the first coupon website. So so tell us about your first coupon website that was actually, you know, you sold it for twenty million that I would say this is a big success. You know by itself. I mean, we'll give cards is is is even bigger scale. But so so how did that get started? So, you know, as I was building this coupon site, you know, we're getting a lot of traffic coming into the website. You know, and it was it like groupon. Kind of a concept, or what was interesting is that I I really couldn't do. I couldn't drive. So I was kinda like trying to figure out how to get people to come to our website. My first person that I hired her name was barb Sherman. I paid her fifty bucks a month is she would go her ni- outright to coach you go on the internet. Find coupons and we created a directory a place where people would find unique coupons that they could find anywhere else. I could I'll I'll always remember. They was rubbermaid was giving away a free rubber sort of container. And if you remember back, then people did realize retailers you put. Link on the internet. Everybody's gonna get it. Yeah. You know, we had retailers putting links on their site thought. Nobody would get it. Well, we got it. We would list it. And all of a sudden, you know to the point where we had we're delivering twenty million page views a month. Wow. I raise a half million venture capital in one thousand nine hundred nine okay. And then I sold it to velocity which owned a startup called save dot com. Okay. And and as an entrepreneur yourself, you can appreciate this. I sold it, and I was twenty nine twenty nine thirty. And I didn't know what I was doing and identified year deal, and it was right before the dot com, bubble burst. And I got cash stock that became worthless. Hope you got more cash than stike out about. Twenty three million but unwound the deal while I did that. Luckily, the platform and technology I built I was able to use for Philly at tracking. And I built the next company called direct response technologies. Yeah. So I rolled that in kept the employees roll that into direct response. Raise a half a million dollars from the state of North Dakota found out that it's the only state that own Bank equity Starr's office up there. Yeah. Oh, wow. And was able to weather the storm of the dot com and built direct response to the point. We had about seventy five employs sold that to digital river, which was a public company to okay that was in two thousand six so you sold and then and then was it a break in your life. Or did you just go right back into buying gift cards dot com now so that was so as so as a five year deal we're supposed to stay on board for five years and two and a half three years into it. You know, the markets crash you remember the dot com. Patterson, and they were not I shouldn't say I say savvy savvy enough to know that the DNS on the domain was never transferred to the buyer is still owned it in style was able to negotiate what the with the buyer to not basically give me nothing. Okay. And so we kept the the domain and the giftcards dot com to me. Well, that was my it was called my coupons at the care. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So that yeah. So then, you know, then direct response. But during all that time as we doing this. Yes, truly we had a gift card business, and it was actually called direct certificates. Okay. Just aside little project, I was working on. And we had a safe with gift certificates in it. And I started seeing plastic show up gift card show up. I said to myself, I wonder who owns the gift cards dot com. I found.

"Hi, jason. Welcome to the Dave Ramsey show. Thanks for having me. Sure. What's up? So my wife, and I moved about seven years ago changed. And we had just bought a house right before mood about a year and a half. And we couldn't sell it. So we're currently in financial peace and we're on baby step number two. My question is we have about if the two thousand dollars outside of that other house, and I'm trying to figure out whether I'm getting a large money coming up if I put that towards selling the house in another state that we don't want war going continuing to pay off debt or upside down on the house of the state still it right now, we sold it. We would likely lose. I estimate about five or ten pounds. Okay. All right. Good. Okay. And how much have you got coming in your lump sum? For coming into some money. And you're trying to side what to do with it. Yes. Yes. It'll be about thirteen thousand dollars. Okay. So enough to get out of that house or pay the other day. I'll see what you're doing. Okay. And aren't you've had it rented in assume censure upside down at you're losing money on the rental monthly, right? Yes. How much you lose in a month? I'm so it's reading now prepaid for six months, but we've already had to do about five hundred dollars or chairs, and there is just enough to break, even so we've already lost five hundred dollars. Okay. So you're losing roughly give or take a thousand dollars a year. Okay. Cool. So what do you do if you wanna sell it? If you've prepaid the rent. What are you gonna do these? Well, it would be once the six month leases that we've go and mmediately try and style which is win. That would be about July. Okay. And what's your household income? My twentieth team part attack is about one thirty. Okay. How much debt do you have not counting the south? You said fifty grand. Forty five thousand student loans in seven.

"jason welcome" Discussed on The Wade Keller Pro Wrestling Podcast

"Pro wrestling, boom podcast, Jason, welcome back. Great to be back. When we come back, we're going to talk about Paul Heyman. I really want to get eager to get your thoughts, Jason on what you think is going to happen with Paul Heyman as a relationship, Brock, listener and Roman reigns at Somerset. So we'll get to that right after this. Jason we are back. I'd said before the break I want to talk about Paul Heyman I wrote in this week's pro wrestling torch newsletter, my back page editorial, try to speculate where things are going with Paul. I wrote it and I finished it, and I was like, I'm not confident that I'm not just missing something obvious that that is going to happen here. Like I run down all the possibilities it. No one scenario jumped out at me as yet. WVU can kind of go. Yeah, that's the most likely scenario who's gonna win the rebel that the most likely finished to this big match and you're going to usually be right. Do you have one of those theories for Paul? Heyman I well, I have a couple. I think it comes down, I guess, three people. I think he could end up with if they want to go in that direction and then it may not even be anyone. But that bonus edition that they put out online of his extended sit down interview kind of left. You wondering if that's what they have in mind is to move him with someone else when he. Talked about listener lead, potentially losing that match. It's odd that they didn't include that on on the actual raw broadcast. It seems to me like maybe they, it's something they looked at that might be poor shadowing too much, but I know talking, I think Brian, Fritz Serb our body from between the ropes had a good point when he said they loved that social media buzz. And so that might be some of the strategy there is to get people buzzing online about what Paul Heyman said in that extended dish on. I would, I mean, going back to wrestlemainia thirty one. I mean I was calling for a double turn their Paul Heyman to end up with Roman reigns. And of course, Rollins cashed in and the rest is history. I would love to see that I would love to see Roman reigns become a complete hypocrite and just do the opposite of what he's been talking about. Going into this match about defending the title all the time. I want to see him be the guy who wears the shades and he's just too cool for everything. And he starts pulling it not to the same extent as Lessner, but just certainly playing up like he doesn't want to end the championship like Brockett away with the why not me. That type of thing. But I think it could also be Braun strowman or who I guess Kevin Owens is the one I don't think it's going to be, but it could also be Kevin Owens ends up cashing in instead and whole hayman's with him. I don't really think it's necessary Hayman. I mean, Braun, I think would need the mouthpiece if he's going to turn, if we're going to turn heel, I, it's not the move I would make. I would certainly go Roman ranch. But I mean, we've been talking about that for years now and nothing happened. So probably wishful thinking, what about you? I don't. I think the whole money of the Bank thing as has a better than fifty percent chance and not coming into play at summer slam. I think that's a little bit of a red herring to throw people off. I think I, I don't even. I'm kind of assuming Kevin o. is going to end up with it because I think it's better for he'll to have it, and I think it might be teased, but I don't think it's going to walk out as universal champion. Okay. Post-summer slam because this I love about there's just so many directions as can go. If we take Paul Heyman off the equation for a second, Kevin, Owens could cash in and win. Let's say, rains beats listener in this whole in this one I want to get into with a it is just. Beats beats up raids afterwards. Just tears them apart. He's in a rage that he lost the belt and then he storms off and only eighteen. Eighteen pickings for onto no one's comes out scores one-two-three. He's universal champion. That could happen..

"Subtitle office not required. There's also a new book coming soon. It doesn't have to be crazy at work, and you can actually. Read those together to tell a lot of this story, Jason, regular called for Inc magazine and newsy frequent contributor to base camps, popular blog, Populars, and understatement signal versus noise, which offers strong opinions and share thoughts on design business and tech, and quote. Jason, welcome to the show. Thanks for having me, Tim, and we have we have treated so many Email over the years and certainly met on on a handful of occasions, and you have to be one of the most requested guests for this podcast. So thrilled that you were able and willing to make the time so many. Thank you to everybody who wanted to hear me. I don't know why, but insist. Great to hear that. I'm wanted. Well, I think part of why people like to hear from you and maybe it's a love hate thing. But I think that what you said to me before we started is indicative. So one was in response to what I always say guests, and that is you have final cut. So it's better to kind of go a little over the edge and compare it back later. And you said, actually, I don't want that much control. Whatever I say should go out into the world in effect is what you said. And you are known for being very raw and contrarian, which which I think has great appeal to a lot of people, particularly in the current climate that we don't need to describe for everybody to understand start giving that with the quote, from Jeff basis, the trillionaire in the making behind Amazon quote, Jason is immune to dogma and has.
