"All it's interesting because the city is getting the twenty twenty two all star game. And it actually where they play the arena what it's near the downtown arenas. Getting renovation construction. Started this year. And it's probably part of the reason why they are giving him the game. And it'll have a huge impact on Cleveland. And it's actually good area. I've been down there. But what kind of team are they personally gonna have at at that point. That's a question you can can easily ask yourself, right? And then how about this boy there there have been some crazy things that have happened at Maryland. And rightfully so the Maryland fire their head coach D day DJ Durkin this week one day after reinstating him from paid administrative leave following a recommendation for the university system of Maryland of regions because they make that decision. They decided and the Maryland president said William Low A departures in the best interest of the university. This ouster came five months two days after offensive lineman, Jordan McNair felt ill. During a team workout and died on June thirteenth from complications of heat stroke. They did investigations into the workout legisla hospitalization into the culture of his program. After the allegations of abuse humiliation and tactics started to surface. And this is what they then decided after all of this evaluating reevaluating, and all of that they that they decided this is what they had to had to do because of all the intimidation tactics that they heard about it investigated. And I mean what a sad story period for that family. How awful awful awful is that. You know to have somebody who has a heat stroke and then to lose their life. Playing a football. But it's a question of you know, the blame game the blame game. And that and in this case, they found that. Hey, listen. We found out all these things that weren't known before. So boom, he gets the he gets the boot period. How about this the World Series trophy? You know, that's the point of pride when you win the big one and the big one in any sport is is being the ultimate champion. So the Red Sox say their brand new World Series trophy had to be repaired. It was repaired after being beamed by a beer Kent wearing the parade only in Boston, right? It happened Wednesday at the duck boat ride through Boston some boisterous fans decided to throw drinks to the players. So they weren't throwing it at them trying to beat them. They were trying to give them drinks and Jason Varitek wife, and Alex cora's daughter were among the people that were hit. That's not good, but one can struck the trophy as was being held up knocking loose some of the tenants that rise from the base. So they said it was minor damage, but it's already been fixed chorus that his daughter was fine. And he said I've got to be ready to make that play. Because of the fans were crazy with excitement. Then they were in those duck boats, and they have roofs, and then they were on top of the duck boats too. But

Person Well I feel like I people have heard me talk about this before but certainly Villanova hitting the game winning, shot at the at the. Final four in Houston over to win. Over North Carolina few years ago that is the most exciting incredible moment I've, ever seen in person I will never forget being very hearing eighty thousand. Plus people just a roar but also being, at the Super Bowl in this was personal for me. I'd never been to a Super Bowl, before and it's the first one. Ever that goes into overtime I also will never forget the, emotions both personally and inside and stadium. So those to happen in. The spate of a, calendar year but in this pain of twelve months so those were pretty amazing but I've also been I was. At the Red Sox Yankees gave those of you who remember this game back in two thousand four when I Alex Rodriguez put. His the base of his palm. Up into the the head of Jason Varitek and his catcher's mask And set off this massive fight between the Red Sox and. Yankees but then ended up spurring on the, Red Sox and that was a major turning point for. Them and their season when they finally, won the World Series at oh. Four so there have been some pretty incredible ones in my, past to you but most recently the. Two championships those were awesome. Might have some new, memories coming up in Atlanta I was also at the game and the press conference where Pedro Martinez said tip. Pros that have played in the Little League World Series
"This week, Sunday baseball's actually going to be the little league classic in williamsport, Pennsylvania. We've got the Phillies the Manson, Jess you already there. What are you doing there? So early that you when I talk, I I literally games. I mean, this is this is where at that, but there I'll tell you and I got two boys. I'm a little league coach. I don't know if I should admit that because sometimes if good and bad, but being here we the first opening day, lily World Series got four games, four more tomorrow you on Saturday. And then I'll have a game Sunday prior to our Sunday night game with the Phillies vets. But it's it's cool in the scene here. You'll be here soon BUSTER, but it's it's, it's pretty special. Yeah, you did this game last year? I did not do it. I was on vacation. What's it? Like when you get the big leaguers mixing with a little leaguers. The coolest thing BUSTER in, you know, we, we've seen it only once. You know the cardinals and the pirates here last year and what was really took me aback as expect. Obviously, when the big leaguers get here, the literally will be running up and getting autographs and photos and southeast and Instagram stories and all that. As soon as I remember the cardinals got here first before the pirates and they got off the bus and they were going after because they'd already watched a few of the games. They literally new kids names. You know, Carlos Martinez had some kids internationally that he like. I think it was a catcher Venezuela that he was like, totally adamant. I need to find this kid. I want my photo. Can I get your picture? Got his autograph, and it was so genuine. And this is before the cameras were even on them, or I mean, these big leaguers were fans of these kids. And to me, that's what makes us special is I think we only a bit of a reminder of like why the game of baseball is really played, but especially those guys not to like knock any player by any means, but. I think one hundred sixty two games. You would get it at the grind, but you get here and oh my gosh. Is it exuding up every just pure love for the game? You know, are they that towns and most of them aren't, but oh, they love it and it rubs off and you can tell when the big leaguers get here that there's a little bit of that. Just I remember when I was eleven years old. I remember when I was twelve and you know the stories just come out and it's it's cool and it's important. Along those lines about the players who play in the Little League World series. This week's poll question is who among the alum of the Little League World series, my goodness. There's so many from Chris story. The, you know, the the NHL player who so many current major leaguers Scott Kingery, Michael Conforto in our game or guys who played Little League World series, but who is the best alum of the Little League World series was played in the big leagues in the four choices and believe me. We could have had so many more Todd Frazier, Jason Varitek, Gary Sheffield or Dwight Gooden who would be the best alum of those four. You know, I put Todd Frazier, I voted this week because there's something about him that still just screams little league. I mean, anyone who's ever been around Todd Frazier and BUSTER. I know you know this, you've been around him. I mean, and part of its maybe his size and just as demeanor and the way he acts. I mean, he, he, he's still just has kid and love for the game the way he plays the game. And this is twenty year anniversary of the team that he one Little League World series with with Tom's river New Jersey, and they're all coming back. He's throwing out the first pitch, and I feel like in covering now the Little League World series. My fourth year, those images are the ones that are still

Think this goes back to when we. Were talking about the leadership's that's it. Martinez true leader by apple sure but. This. Is why said it's stupid for somebody have to have, to get up in, front of everything I'm the. Leader because in baseball clubhouse every team is like this you have like. Four or five leaders you have to have different corners of. That clubhouse you have to have the regular position player you have to, have the, starting, pitcher, you, have, to. Have the bullpen guy you have to have the utility player Alex. Alex Cora was a leader on the two thousand seven two thousand eight team even though he hardly played, and that is just, because Jason Varitek has a c. on his chest this is the dumbest thing in baseball and hockey is fine Well who are your teams doing any no. That was. Stupid, and, baseball did did, JIRA no, no not what you knew what you call them the. Was, dumb dumb because in that was placating Jason Varitek when you got, his contract? And, so forth and so on but. Jason. Miratec, was he leader in the in in a way like JD Martinez he's. Not a. Guy who's going to get. Up. On a soapbox in the middle of the clubhouse in yell and scream not going to be like David. Ortiz people let me ask you this and I'm asking this question. I'm not insinuating did Jason Varitek did. Anybody lose respect for him inside the clubhouse when the Heidi Watney thing came out no because. I think everyone in baseball world's go. Through stuff like that him and some. Guy named green almost got into a. Fight. Over it Nick green oh well Nick green was I, think was I don't, know if he was dating. ID wa well I heard they almost came to where they did come. What, I, do know about, Jason Varitek, as a leader I know that he lead by example. And, that's a cliche but that was reality he wasn't a guy who, was gonna? Yell, and screaming I think JD Martinez Along those lines and we're JD Martinez. And JD, Martinez said this. A few times where you. Have a guy who was in in Detroit and then..

"Well a couple things on that first of all when you take sanchez out of being catcher and simply make him a d h then you're taking away some of the advantage you have let's see let's go back to some recent history with the yankees of the core for championship yankees and part of what made the yankees successful and you're obviously there were a lot of assets and and weapons on that team the yankees always had when you looked at those those championship yankee teams they had an advantage advantage against the red sox part of why they used to win head to head and part of it was good as jason varitek was as a as a leader and a defensive catcher with the red sox the yankees against any other team that they played jorges passat is bat and bassano wasn't a it wasn't a terrific defensive catcher but the yankees had that bat a middle of the order type of bat in persada at the catching position was an advantage versus basically every team they played and gary sanchez is still developing first of all his arm is outstanding so we negates the running game is arm is better than austin reminds and no i'm not gonna say i understand the passed ball issue he's going to get better i think defensively but before you write that off and cut off a big part of his value by making him a fulltime d h the kids twenty five years old i'm not saying don't play austin remind don't play 'em at times but i would not be restricting gary sanchez to the h and realize also when you do that if you're making him the d h that means that there's another good outfield bat right now that you're keeping out of the lineup so yes i understand brett gardner by struggled a little bit at times this season but that means that gardner who is a good versatile player for you or how about clint frazier is hot as heck down in the minor leagues has got on his rehab assignment if he comes up it means there's another bat that you're keeping out of the lineup by installing sanchez as the everyday h and it means i also think with mine as nicer players he is defensively and he's good it's not like he's the best catcher.

"Special appearances for the club and work in a business development capacity for fenway sports management and his partners david ortiz himself said the role he envisions is similar to pedro martinez and jason varitek go to spring training work with the players that sort of thing you can say d h i know asking to include out sono included never the postseason when much just playoffs only put them on the the playoff roster i'm gonna give you a few i know might be able to do yourself he might but he says that's not in the cards well if he said he missed it briefly at the beginning of the season is over it now an and all as well so david ortiz his as formalised his longterm agreement to be basically with this organisation forever none saw the yes zell when we need a public speaker he's our guy we're gold as somebody i i got to give your twitter update delman on their atta area where it's it out of their great it's not the same guy the guy says you been a senegalese sympathizer since the globe days hello all in all of the bodies that have always pro african so it really did to be fair the nitwits at pro africa you're pro africa pro africa all the time that pro africa now everything good i wonder what he base that on nazi one where where to actually i don't if the taiwan the area of manchester because i think we kinda know what he's facing out on writen knit wit i love together okay i would love to go ahead with her however robson holy okay rob how you doing good how you doing guy what's going right i i always thought that the troop was the best of penn and it hurt them all men all white guy but anyhow how would you characterize someone back wayne there a judge who was born in indiana boy was incapable of being impartial because you as a mexican heritage or how would you.

"He is pissed i'm sure he has got a list of everyone that ripped him for what happened in baltimore and i also short this thing with pds the key thinking knows he made a mistake in baltimore and i think he no he wanted came off your delayed he wanted to be caught on camera saying no i think probably nike knows he made a mistake but i think he would rather hold a grudge than ever admitting made a mistake against evan no gets everybody who's who's well come out and over the drought local everybody you know i was pretty critical he didn't like it either right so he i'm sure he i'm sure it all by i'm pretty sure that but i think this in terms of put rather than look in the mirror report in july you're you're right right was a bad luck this i said yesterday at this team can heal the truth yes they can't will the fact the the fact of the matter prices the perfect example that isn't it yes as we get over where in what world do you think it's a good idea to try to be good made this way when not worried is have you ever heard of that not at all years of playing a being a star a major league player team have you ever heard of that no end when he talked about pedroia leadership because ortiz left everyone wanted pejorative be the leader everyone on pretoria to be a different kind of guy that he was it was what it was this is to me this is a perfect example why a good majorleague clubhouse has four five guys in different corners that kabas who are good leaders jason varitek here to see on his chest was he the perfect leader utomi no we talked about yesterday he he led differently you know he he he led with preparation he led with work ethic you just watched him you knew you deal with a pro in you wanted to be that as you said i if he's going to put it it is kind of work i gotta do my job at that his that's the way he lead and the same thing with peaty you know like watching him play baseball watching you ever he gives on the baseball field watching him play through injuries at time that's a leader that's good x expert young kids to see you're.
