Dodgers Out-Slug Padres to Win High-Scoring Affair
"A stunning finish on the double play off the bat of the former dodger manny. Machado as the dodgers hold on at pet, go to win seven six, they win the series as well over the Padres, two games to one John Shea Jim Russell back with you here on the wrap up show, we said the padres lead baseball by the way and runs per game last. Last segment. They entered the day third in runs per game at five, and a half runs per game on the season and against scored six runs here today. So they've been very, very good offensively. But again, with the loss, they fall to seven and six on the season. Let's hear from the manager who was jacked for the first time in his career. Here's Jay Taylor game. Yeah, it's always good to see. You know the guys continue to battle and. You. Know we've we. Kind of felt that you know inside the. In the DUGOUT when we've been down never really feel like we're out of it and you know get get the heart of the order up and chance to you know always be in the game and. You know look at the end Mandy you know squared a ball up to to left field and and They made a hell of a play I. Mean it was A. Had to be you know a perfect throw and it was a perfect one hop throw and a intact. So but dancer question Yeah. It's. It's good to see him battling back and chip away and. You know we. You know we we came up short. Your first managerial ejection tonight. That's something that had been building up over the course of the game with Margaret Mature, as more of a spur of the moment reaction to that dish. Now. It's a, it's not built up minutes. Look. I think manny thought the ball was down I. thought it was down and. You know it either I go with me and he goes I'm guessing. So it's simple as up. Your thoughts on how? To. Handle. I thought you know Came in You know we were looking for a little softer landing but. The NFL west, there's there's no soft landing especially with the dodgers and. looking for a spark and. He gave up to ground balls got through and and then obviously Peterson clicking man you know. Peterson Click a couple balls tonight. You know and. But but I was impressed with how he went back out in the second inning and. I thought that was good and it's always nice to kind of You know finish on a on a higher note, and hopefully he gets some confidence and you know continues to go forth. Interesting admission there from JAS Tingler. We were hoping for a softer landing for Luiz Patino. Remember we heard yesterday literally yesterday when he was called up, he would not initially be pitching and high leverage spots. He makes his Major League debut, not not with the lead, but trailing four too. So you could argue the leverage component of it, but Jim again, he went left left right left with the VP that a left-wing cory seager who's read hide Jock Peterson three homers in the series including the homerun again. Again Against Patino and again, you're going to have to get him at one point or another. If you call them up, there's a reason you call it Emma but Jeez in the history of big league debuts, can it be much more difficult for Patina than the inning he had to deal with there could not have been more difficult. You're facing an MVP facing the guys at thirty six bombs last year who was notorious for being i. mean you saw in the home run Derby last year he. Is. Ball's. Chris Taylor their professional hitter. It's not an, there's no easy ways to face the dodgers especially in a four two game. You put him in there hopefully to have Jason, Taylor said this thing and there by the way it's four nothing before with two outs, TAT tease homers. So all of a sudden the dynamic of the game has changed it's chain, but but seniors already ready like you've already said he's GonNa Pitch the sixth, right? Like you wonder again at four nothing there you go. Down seven nothing whatever. But at fourteen like well, I'm back in the game and you don't want him to get up and then sit down again and I'm sure that's the reason why they put them in the game like look he's already ready. Maybe. It might be not the best time to put him in. But look, we just hit a two run bomb to to get us going hopefully and putting a guy in there where he is one of if not the top prospect on this in this organization, hopefully, we can get another spark on this guy route that is

All can play good benefits in basketball family from your lips to God's ears. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen in the N B. A bubble. I saw video back in February, You were wearing a Kobe Bryant jersey and you actually threw it down in your road. I'm still dunking at 64 years old. Have you been dunking at all during the pandemic? Or was that a one time thing at 64 district Cream donuts, Bad eye. You must have been nervous, right? Well, every year on my birthday, I do a dung just to see if I could still do it. I didn't plan on doing it this year. Just chill out at my son's a SIA. All over social media. They have got to do it contingent to the one in Sydney one in with that inside, And so, of course, I did a couple of warm up to feel pretty good and And we decided absent phone brought up two tackles. Omar, you know, taco fallen. Whoever jumped over him, Aaron Gordon. Whoever dumped over way last year Next year I'll be 65. That's the official retirement age. I've been retired. I'm Travis. You have to do one more 65 years old. I gotta pay the bed after that. I don't blame you. I don't. I can't even dunk right now. I can't imagine being able to dunk when you're in your sixties. Marcus Johnson here with us on the show. When we look at this MBA restart. We know that the Bucks are the best team in the league. From a record standpoint right now they're going to be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. The's eight games inside of the bubble. What do you look for out of them where they could really ease themselves back into playing shape? The annex a great question. I was just kind of pondering that looking at the books. Play that scrimmage against neworleans the other night and You know, I just don't think that teams should put too much into the eight. Feeding games. It's a gradual buildup. You want to be planned your best basketball. Obviously when, when the playoffs start. This is such a weird. Praise the different type of experiment. Probably guys. And so, um, you know, see positives from the brother. I've seen not good things about in terms of Kind of fighting since, um, some difficulties against the product in here tonight, but, you know the season games Because boom Jose lost compete. He's gonna want these guys to come out and and just so effort show competitive competitiveness from Paris. But I'm not sure about the ones. The won and lost record is important. At this stage of the game. It's all about kind of a slow, gradual buildup. I've been exploding wants to play all secure here. When you look at the team from last year to this year. What do you see is the biggest difference as they even got better from what they were last year, which was impressive. Well, I mean, ways that it rest values that they're so what he has done that He's given Chris Middleton a breather at defense. Can't Chris I was just looking up Christian defensive record 107th overall, 22nd ranked small forward LeBron and collide As I said at the top. But Chris doesn't have to get all that energy trying to beat this Great three and the win. Clare and I could focus on his office and I was a result becomes one of seven or eight guys who was Trying to suit you both 20% from the three point line, stick to the set plus from the field and monitor it from the people that I think a 20 point today. Yes, I think that's direct benefit to Chris Middleton. Eric Bledsoe also, let's not forget him, Master. He struggle big time last couple of years in the playoffs and honestly, stuff a big farm of the playoffs. Uh, this year, he seemed to be a lot more comfortable in his basketball scared now. It is kind of getting a late start based on tested positive and them in quarantine and all that stuff. How quickly he could kind of get back into a rhythm and flow going to be a big difference. But today I think this team has gotten even better, but local tradition of Robin Has really been a great great move. But John forced our president breaking Robin Lopez, and now we've got two bent beak gets standings and leave so I think the defense has been even better than the great detective team from last season. Marcus Johnson here with us it Zaki help show on CBS Sports radio doing a little bubble breakdown on the Milwaukee butts nationally. The big question about Chris Middleton is. Can the Bucks win it all with him? Be in the Bucks. Second best player. He's a two time All Star. Give me the local feel on that. Our people still concerned locally about Middleton be in that number to peace and winning the championship this year. Right here is where you go. I could go to a barber shop in the hold of the brothers give Ah, little about depended on Chris have the huge games but In terms of inside basketball people, people that have watched Chris closely like myself. I really believe that Chris, it's all about his confident being an all Star to the second consecutive D up really? Helps his belief in himself as being one of the elite players in the league and kept in one of the shooters in the league. And you couple that with the fact that he comes back, he's getting guns for arms and get this definition I've never seen before. His body status. Probably way dog looks really good, really in great shape of the Kalpoe talked about his explosion and bounciness coming back after the four months off was really, really surprised. So he's really putting the work that during this time off to come back and make himself I've been so on. But with president mentally I think that way you get tomato last year, the average with just 14 points in the field, and he left. How Laurie, pending for a big cheque of those minutes in that six game lost to the crap. You have to be enough to love. So you've got a lot to prove, but I think Based on what I'm looking at changes of his body where he is physically brave is right. But I think he's ready to make that statement. When I look at the Eastern Conference, I really do fully expect Milwaukee. To get to the finals. They were in that one seed spot last year did not get there When you look at the Eastern Conference this year, who's the biggest challenger for the Bucks when the season resumes tomorrow night? It's really interesting. You get him some. I think three really legitimate. Even the Miami that mix also, you can't count out exposure and then the butler as your lead gap, but I think there's still a little bit godly hero of none. And guys like that. And then he began by making just a little bit young and that, Betty, but I really believe that Celtics man. I mean, people talk about the Raptors, who I respect about. Nick Norris is a great coach. Brad Stevens was great, but one through four in terms of scoring and issues and problems. You know Jason Taylor planted Kemba Walker is the number one option. That's two through four group these guys to produce and I think about taking on like the game, and that's the most since that Golden State a couple of years ago, but most just like second most 1995 in terms of looking for and then when Gordon Hayward is your fourth option, going going home. What is your fourth option? And then we talk about a container my greatest been, but then this Dylan Brown watching his footwork. Watching the lip bruised stands the finishes in traffic. He's a guy that could be a real problem for team like the book had been. The wild card would be market smart. Distant Jabba, even though Marcus Smart Sixthree export out of 16 11 Marcus Smart office of players and we know how much she just underneath their skin. And so he's a guy that has given me honest as much trouble as anybody scoring effectively and officially against it, So I said that and then the two big catch I mean the pick and roll for five hours straight that Boston life's run. Those two guys found business cancer, pounded it inside a greatjob getting into the paint and score of them that I'm not gonna puke my shot and roll that movies have private medical himself. I really believe that Celtics to me that they're not deed. I think both those four score that they have been a lot of pressure on the Milwaukee ways that do the Middleton. To defend at a high level every night in order to be a minute in a series.

"Still living in the past but father. Tom Is undefeated. We'll see on that long ago. But do remember Jason. He had no touchdowns of picking a fumble. We wouldn't actually slide it. Open the side. I don't care what losses while the real torture. The browns people went crazy The networks couldn't wait to put them on prime time games. All the browns are going to the Super Bowl. They got Baker Mayfield. Oh my God oh. BJ Look at the roster. They've picked up Kareem hunt all this other stuff and what happened to them that they didn't even make the playoffs this year. talent on paper for doesn't always mean you're GONNA win. Does it no not at all. And you know they. They won the headlines in the off season and people were going crazy about it and book and tickets tickets to Miami from Cleveland. And you WANNA be Miami of February if you live in Cleveland but you know you got to pump the brakes a little bit and play the Games and you know I hate to be that guy but but you know I was saying all summer long and I was telling my party every Westwood One Kevin Kugler that you know I just feel like. That's a man smoking at a gas station. It's just a matter of time before blows. I never never believer in and I thought it was. It was too much throw in the pot too fast and felt like there was some indecision as with the coaching ask whatnot and a lot of big personalities on a team that that didn't have a whole lot of discipline in it manifested itself. You know early on throughout the season season with the amount of penalties they had and Kinda shoot themselves in the foot and there's only one football and a lot of talented guys up there and you know it wasn't a big believer in a quarterback we're back yet and he. I think he has some some growing to do. And you know comes with those surprise us with those surprise me. A little bit is is that I feel like a snap decision into to let Freddie Kitchens go. I mean this one and done thing. Is this one a done thing. I know people have some issues with them. And you know whether he's a leader or not and the lack of discipline and this thing but I mean if you're GonNa hire a guy you have to give him time and that fifteen games lineup time it takes time to mention in the jail and and get things going so listen you picked him last year to be your head coach. I I feel like you need to write out for a couple years or three years at least and let the thing play out a little bit. I is Jason. You know. Oversold changing all the chains and Cleveland. They continue to have the same goal. There's something else wrong. See you know what Jason I'm with do I. I'm wondering if you I'm saying can't blame it. All on Freddie I blame John Dorsey the GM who gave him that job where he was probably not ready yet. He had I've been. What was he? The running backs coach. Chris and then he had never been a full chlorinated horner. And you give them that job and then do it to them like that. I agree Greek. John Dorsey put the roster together and hired an inexperienced coach with all these different personalities. And I guess he's right now going to get to stick around but I I'm with you. I think kitchens is getting the brunt of it's always easier to justify to coach correct. Yeah it is in this and I'm not gonna I'm I'm not gonNA campaign. Forgot to lose his job. But it's interesting that that he picked pretty kitchen to be the head coach a year ago and then fires him or as part of the process of firing them and then now gonna be trusted to hire another couple is kind of it was kind of it kind of head scratching me but each their own. I mean we have a lot of money. They they either earned a right to own the team and do what they wanna do but it just this this repetitive process of going through coaches. And letting them go and if you look could only get third year with with the hands of the owners is is Hugh Jackson and that was a that was a disaster in that everyone. I was amazed that he will get a third year. And obviously that didn't work out you halfway through the third year but this is a mess up their pro football hall of Famer Jason Taylor joining in the Arca. But let's stay in Cleveland Baker Mayfield and very outspoken. had his episodes going at the media going at fans going at you. You know media members individually. What do you think a team can win because we? We rarely see championship or high high level. quarterbacks behaving that way I don't personally think it can't be done but what's your view on Kenna quarterback have that type of fire. You're in personality. I'm talking about you know with the media and fans and all that answer back. Every criticism can guide do that and lead a franchise or does he need to toned down a little bit. I mean can it be done probably you know we. We haven't seen it be done that so I think everyone's saying this. Is You know you can't win like this. But would I encourage it if I was a teammate or coach or you know an EXEC organization encourage it no absolutely not what I try to. What a stop to it? Yeah I would know. pull him aside. And let's focused football. You know these people out there some get paid to to you know I like this. I get paid to analyze not criticized but you know sometimes it comes off as criticism but you. They get paid to do that others. Don't others simply sign up and get a twitter account or You know Instagram mcallen. Feel free to to go at you but you could ignore that stuff. That's part of the Gig you know you you. You chose to play professional football for living and you're not GonNa win them. All people were going to criticize you when you win and probably give it to much credit when you lose the definitely will give you too much credit in the off season whenever you start to compile Russia that has a lot of big name so you gotta take the good with the bad rather you. Just be quiet. Keep your head down down and and keep that chip on your shoulder shore. But you don't need us. You'll need to show it every time you get in front of a camera. Jason it looks like the Jason Garrett Tenure and you're in Dallas will come to an end noon central time today but When you look at the cowboys and they had an unbelievable roster people were picking them to make super bowl run and they didn't even make the playoffs is it back is it was Jason Garrett or or does is it bigger than that and Jerry Jones has to take some some responsibility because he will not let the football people run the franchise? He's just has to be involved and it just hasn't worked out the last twenty five years. That's a longest playoff games twenty-five years since Jimmy Johnson left. Yeah it's been a while and there's you know everybody in the building have to take part of the blame and has to be responsible for it accountable when that goes from ownership down. And then you're in our organization you know a great organization innovation and you know the most valuable sports franchise in our country and you know with an owner that that wants to be involved. And that's his right to do that. And it's I I think it'd be. It can become difficult to work under under him or with them. And you know when when the owners and the in the hallway giving interviews to the media while the coach is still in the locker room team I it just it's difficult but that's his prerogatives and but everybody has ever. Everyone deserves some responsibility and it has to be held accountable for not just the head coach. Listen that's we've all been around long enough to know that that you know the first place. The blame is is the coach and they try to coach and second effect continually does not work. Then at some point you've got to stop and take a step back and say what else would be doing it. That isn't helping us because we're very talented football team gal talented team got guys that pretty much every position then loaded Jason loaded. It should be winning Jason. You obviously great defensive in as we say at Hall of Famer two part question one. How difficult or frustrating would it be to play against Lamar Jackson in their offense in Baltimore? And into. How would you if you're planning for him game planning for him in the playoffs? How would you stop him? I mean to answer. Your first question is very difficult. I mean it's it's one of those weeks where you don't get a whole lot asleep you're constantly trying to figure out how the saints have look how disguise how to roll covers is what can can we. Would it be fire zones or or giving the impression of pressure and drop back in his own trusting your front four to get there and and as a as a pass rusher when you're playing against a guy like him and I played against Mike Vick when he came in the league and embarrassed all of us right. Now it's you you. You can't let it take your your Stinger away so to speak. When you're rushing quarterback you still got to go? You have to go Adam Hart and and do what you do remain cognizant that any rushing you opened up you know. He's he's going to squeeze through there within the threat is well. Some guys can step in Nepal. Did the Seattle game last night. And you see Russel. Wilson who can extend claims to some of the pocketing and get lateral WANNA scrimmage and keep his eyes on the field. Where exactly can do that? And then all of a sudden he decided to run and then he's running a four three four four. It's like what do you do and it's it's one of those things where where you need to play ball control on offense. You cannot settle for field goals in the red zone off at your office. have to score touchdowns and try to play. Keep away as best you can see there. There's GonNa be a couple throw the game. It's like any any quarterback where he's GonNa give you an opportunity to make a play on the ball and you you have to make that play but trying to contain him and stop him from running and extending plays stressing your defense back in particularly when you're a man to man it's just. I'm I'm sitting here so I started sweating you've been talking about. I got a quick really about thirty seconds left. Because we've always heard the quarterback can't run this this much and stay healthy in the NFL NFL. Do you are you. Do you agree with that sentiment. I've always believed it. I'm starting to wonder. Is it possible for a guy to run like this and last you know in the NFL. What what's your thought on that Roy depends on what your time frame for last is and I do believe that in this league eventually eventually someone's going to catch up with you? Those the accumulation of those hits and he does he does a really good job with large accident getting down and not taking on hold on a direct blows. And he's he's very very savvy about doing that and I hope he continues to cause I I love I love. I love watching them play and I think he's great for the League but I just feel like at some point you got linebackers run a four four and run a four or five four six two hundred seventy five pounds eventually. Someone's GonNa get you and kind of the cumulation. Those Dell's hits are GONNA add up so for longevity. You know. I like you'd like to see your quarterback Naccache hits if he can continue to do it the way he's doing. I think you know it works for them and it works for him and man is a really stress defense. And it's It's impossible to stop but it's it's very very difficult. Hi Jason Taylor. Glitz football hall of Famer Aamer Westwood One. NFL analyst. Thanks for joining US man. Taylor's brother it is the great dust in Taylor Hall of Famer to the Dan. Patrick Jigsaw with the couple of how you doing guys. How are you doing great we are? We are good as a lifestyle you know most of your career. You Play Your Hall of fame career with the Miami Dolphins you probably enjoying seeing the Patriots Struggle The way they're I mean. Obviously they still are twelve and four making the play offs but very few you people giving them a chance to get to the super bowl again. Are you ready to pour dirt on him as well and declared that there's very little way they'll get to the super bowl. No I'm not I mean as you know. Having played for the dolphins for thirteen years I enjoy seeing the dolphins. Go up there to foxborough place where we haven't had a whole lot success and get a win and I mean you can't say enough about the job Brian Flora's done with it with the dolphins team and you look at talent in the way they played for him all along great job job them. But I'm not. I'm not ready to bury the Patriots. Yeah it doesn't look great. I get it You know there's a lot of issues there you look particularly on the opposite side in a defense is starting to wear down a little bit I think and and get exposed in certain situations but you know they. They've still got number twelve under center and Bill Belichick and something to be said for playoff experience for Gazzetta been before but then those those tough situations playing primetime games with you know with there being tomorrow and I I just. I've seen seen as movie so many times. I just feel like you can't you can't look away yet and say oh it's over and turn it off because you never know what's going to happen with those guys you know in Foxborough is still there. Some experts say viewers could one day be watching cybersecurity teams compete to hack one another systems could this broadened the appeal of sports among in youth and also perhaps lure them to work in the cyber security industry which is sorely in need of talent. Let's talk with wall street. Journal reporter james rundle who's part of the journals pro cybersecurity security team james. It sounds like a good idea creating an e sports category for cyber security <hes> essentially to kill two birds with one stone boosting interest in both e. sports and the overall industry yes essentially so cybersecurity has a pretty severe recruitment problem right now <hes> hundreds of thousands of vacancies in the u._s. alone millions worldwide worldwide so that areas if you can broaden the appeal attract youth through sports on maybe can help plug that gap well. The question is how interested would viewers really c._b._s. Watching sports contestants patch systems isn't this kind of a laborious process. It's a bit like watching paint dry so <hes> yeah that's the problem. You know you're watching people at the movies glorify radio watching people do the homework every competes as a there are some efforts underway to change this one gentleman who spoke to jason taylor. That's not a proof of concept where it would visualize the action going on in a game four months <hes> piece of put together something the unreal engine <hes> and it was pretty successful. There have already been cyber sports cyber sports competitions having their in the form of capture the flag contests and they're. They're more coming up on it. You talk about that yes so there was one recently in august called wicked six which pitted sixteenths from different colleges across the u._s. against each other raising money for charity. <hes> it was a bit of a test i think just to see if it could work and that kind of format with a live audience and it seemed to go pretty well that they're gonna get next year. <hes> catch the fly contest. Do you happen at most conferences throughout the world <hes> specifically defcon a blackout the the biggest ones <hes> but this is one of the first times that it's really had all the trappings of an sportswoman is a big one is scheduled to take place in the fall season featuring thousands of students discovering. What two months yes. This is the national cyber league. It's a very interesting program. That's been run since two thousand twelve. <hes> gentle daniel manson at the u. The polytechnic pomona runs it and essentially it allows high school and college students to compete individually and in teams against each other of the course of two seasons they in the spring and the full semesters and <hes> it's been pretty successful gordon <hes> just under thousand plays in two thousand twelve to around hopefully six thousand and they're they're different brackets hard medium easy. Yeah you can appeal to anybody with the super experience the security or whether a complete novus <hes> look at the practice with others of the ability types going up against prepackaged essentially couldn't student player's leverage their game experiences kind of a replacement for you know on the job bob experience when applying for cyber security position exactly yeah i mean there's a lot of people node jobs quite tough to get in specialized industries having experience already even the entry of ones and so what the n._c. L. does which is really interesting. Is they provide a scouting report for every player shows their strengths their weaknesses how did throw season <hes> and quite a few of them have polly so you're actually bringing this job interviews and getting crazy industry as a result well how many job openings are currently in the cyber security field. I imagine in their thousands of them in the u._s. There's about three hundred fifteen thousand but presence <hes> worldwide the nearly three million <hes> which is astronomical the problem being of course it's such a specialized industry can take up to ten years to train. Someone's be effective in this so you have a massive massive on ramp to what you're getting into a huge <hes> need people in the wall street journal pro cyber-security reporter james rendel. Thanks for joining us. Thank you and that's tech news briefing. I'm charlie turner in new york for the wall street journal.

"Weird back. That's why you still talk. Just don't see anything especially about Tom Brady or about air doll. Don't say anything about the great players because they feed on it. And you're gonna pay a price at some point. I don't think his remarks were misunderstood. He was not calling him the greatest quarterback of all time. Like he did today because if you've done that nobody would have cared. So by the way, did anybody in the past ever say something about twenty Sally that fired you up y'all? Yeah. One Jason Taylor is on our air. Wow. Yeah. You got to keep you guys apart outset. We're good friends. Now, that's good. Tell us the story was before Monday night game. He was talking trash in the media and the whole game. And I physically tried to kill him. It wasn't easy. Interestingly the teams come with a very clear set idea of what it is. They're going to do when they get here. Now, I don't know whether he was playing because our conversation with rob gronkowski was fun. But he said that the patriots had a surprise practice of sorts today that he didn't exceed coming. Normally they put in you know, the entire game plan and just kind of touch it up when they get to the Super Bowl site. So if they went out on the field somewhere in practice, it's not something that they've done in the past. I'd be surprised if they would do something out of the ordinary there L check doesn't do that. They did lose the Super Bowl last year. But Jesus Tom Brady threw for five hundred five yards. I don't think it was for a lack of preparation or executed. That's side of the ball. Anyway, we're going to find that out to coming up in and see what kind of changes have been made. And of course, it's going to be following things for us all week long as these teams break off into their individual groups begin practicing, and we will have updates coming for you each night here on the show stay on top of all the Super Bowl stories this week with Westwood One..

"Bad under. That's a good call guarantee, if you're gonna bet the don't watch that game hope for the over and. Yeah. We'll take the over there Brentwood. He'll take it forty eight and a half that is his lack of the weekend. Let's go Saturday night Seahawks at the Cowboys right now. Dallas a two point favorite the over under is at forty three. This game will be on FOX come Saturday night. Joe buck Troy Aikman, Erin Andrews. Chris Myers on the sidelines. Are Westwood One crew of Kevin Kugler Jason Taylor and Ed word. We talked about it with the we talked about early with a big Walt Walter Jones talking about that tremendous run game that the Seahawks. Have this year Jiang said his tops in the NFL? Chris Carson has been great eleven hundred and fifty one yards Tyler Lockett team high in receptions, fifty seven Doug Baldwin has been great. But we know about Zeke Elliott tops in the NFL fourteen hundred thirty four rushing yards. Second in the league in yards from scrimmage over two thousand it's been. Quite the year for Zeke as once again. The Cowboys jank's are minus two I don't have a great deal for this game. I really don't like this game. But I've been riding Seattle for most of the season one some decent money on them. But the second mass GM again against the spread in the NFL this year. So I will take the two points and Seattle. Yeah. Once again, a reminder to people listening you don't have.

"Jason I know we're asking you about a lot of quarterbacks. But we this Carson Wentz situation against Nick foles with the eagles. This is fascinating. Because foles do about twenty million dollars next year. He's now saved Phillies bacon twice in a row. We're what are your thoughts on Wednesday getting injured every year and Nick full somehow getting hot late in the season back to back seasons? Well, you got to pick your hats, Nick, foles and the way he approaches the game, and you know, had success win the Super Bowl had to go back to being a backup. And you know, it's, but you gotta give them credit. I mean, the guys always ready to go and sometimes backup quarterbacks when they come in. You know, they get called in the first or second quarter of a game they play well. But then there's teams prepare for them in. You'll start the next week. They kind of exposed and foles is not that guy. I think a lot of money here in Philadelphia or somebody make a trade or or they're gonna go. And he he goes to somebody else against them seems out. Probably one that I'm I'm sitting city of right now that would love to have Nicole. Hey, Jason, we've got thirty seconds. Gimme your Super Bowl pick. I know we've got a long way to go here in the playoffs. Whatever what team. Do you like the Cowboys coming out of NFC who do you like give me a pig? We got thirty seconds. Who do you go into the Super Bowl? Oh, man. So early early early. Definitely I like, I really like Olin's. I do I like the Orleans every through that Superdome. And it's very very difficult place to play for the NFC. And in the AFC got my take I'm crazy. But I've never I never bet against Radi. Jay, jay. It's like watching Sables you watch every year on time L for Christmas vacation, though, the ending. I've seen his movie wage many times smart man, Jason Taylor hall of Famer. Joy what you say because I don't know what to talking about. And we love working with our fest one. You know, it fits you guys bring her in part of the family. But if you tell her I'm not gonna answer my phone. Jason Taylor everybody. Former Miami Dolphins. Great Jason great New Year's talk to you next week shade. It. Yeah. Jason Taylor smart man loves him. That patriot lazy and. Pick. The patriots are lazy can't trust. Nobody in the AFC. It's not Brady. This you anybody? But Brady I keep an eye on the Baltimore Ravens. That's my sleeper. Just the way they play keep the ball and and defend patriots defense stinks. Dan, Patrick show. Fox Sports radio coming up at the start of next hour here on the Dan Patrick show, the college football bowl system stinks. Nobody's watching the games. Imagine the home you've always known sinking into oblivion community of our way of Virginia island population. Four hundred sixty is being swallowed by the Chesapeake Bay the first full fledged town that's probably going to get lost sea level rise in America can disaster be stopped..

"We can't beat that team. It's in that locker room and the press. They got a defensive. I'm hall of fame stuff at defensive end. We can't beat that team. Jason Taylor finish his career hall of fame worthy. You lose to them. If you'd been with them, you'd be Bruschi. You'd be all over television as a national star on television because you're beautiful, and your team was excellent Bruschi. Exactly. I mean breaks a little bit exacting went pretty well for Jason Taylor. I'm saying that there's a national perception that he could have as a winner that he does not have this team, do you Jason Taylor would rather be Jason Taylor or Tedy Bruschi think about that. Put it on the poll. I mean, consider everything before you answer that question, what he rather be Jason Taylor or what he rather be Tedy Bruschi and everything that comes with money Tedy Bruschi you your, your change has been complete. You began as a dopey caveman sports fan who has now become a cartoon caricature of that sports fan. But you're the reason that I had Robert orient to ask him specifically rob if he'd rather have those titles or the career of Charles Barkley. It's the reason that we talked to bigshot Bob about that because you're arguing and you spent this. This is before Stu gods realized with self-awareness, what a dirty dirty human being. He is sports fan. He was arguing for me that he would rather be Bob Ori than Charles Barkley. And Bob ORR came on with us and said, oh, no, I'd rather have Charles career. What are you? Kidding me? He was great. I just made a bunch shots. He was great, but he's big shot. Bob. I mean, I think he was lying to us that day to be honest. So while I love your question is a hypothetical. I reveal use a fraud in front of the masses because it's not actually a difficult question for you. That's been revealed ready. I'm good. So the dolphins have to win this game for you. What? If they, they play tight? I still don't trust them and I still am not finished. I, I still trust the patriots and still don't trust the dolphins even if they win this game. But my thoughts on this don't matter because they changed nationally. Some. Well, my thoughts on this don't matter because they're my thoughts, but the way that this team has received nationally, if you want to be the story right now that the Rams and the chiefs are in that sport, you beat the page, oh, score against the patriots. Go, go make those big plays where you look faster than the patriots where your guys can high five down the field on the road because they're running seventy yards or one of these one place seventy yard drive. This is such a tough spot for any team. They're really good teams go into new way as possible, but they do it Mike. What I'm saying, yes, this is a game. The Miami Dolphins have lost for a decade and a half. And this is a game that the NFL has lost since two thousand. That's correct. And so it is a big ass because the dolphins have never beaten Brady in Foxborough. But what I'm telling you is in the state that they're in injured. Fighting slow doubting old old slow. If you can't do it now. When the bleep or you're going to do it. Like I understand it's a big ask, but this is it three, you know, come on, Mike. That's why it's an enormous foot and insult Florida because this team has been in your way for fifteen years too. I feel we're gonna come in here Monday and do the same old dolphin show. Being FSU week, of course, maybe they, maybe they do something wacky like get a twenty three, nothing lead or something, but I fully expect to come in here on Monday and do the show about how they blew Twenty-three. Nothing Li, I don't know about you guys, but Dan is get me fired up for the football weekend, real gay. This is real. The sports fan in me over years has been slowly killed. Last week I emerged was at a tailgate staring into my past you into my youth..

"Want to call it that then some of the other guys in this draft and i'm not talking about at you apparently doesn't react well to pressure on the ball not not great if you're going be a primary bowl handler no not not talking about either one of those guys i look at guys like jaren jax and wendell carter and i see guys there that or more like the best players that have come out of the draft recently you think about jason taylor even watching the celtics thinking about al horford i see guys who can switch on screens goo ken play consistent and excellent you're with us defense everywhere all the time long athletes i see guys with at least in wendell carter's case some offense of polish to and in both cases real offense of upside i see much more of the kind of modern kind of star than i do in either and or dockage to tell you the truth though i haven't seen much of donkin other than the video we've all seen the point is that i think when people when you have the number one overall pick in the draft it can hurt judgment at times because you you think okay i got the number one overall pick like how often do you get this unless you're the cleveland cavaliers without lebron i better hit a home run with this pick but sometimes there is no you know home run or grand slam in the draft sometimes the best available pick even at number one is just a good double off the wall that scores two runs if you consider jason tatum net or someone like that and i think wendel carter junior and jaren jackson junior fit that description and i'd be afraid i'm not saying you don't take eight number one i just don't think it's a slam dunk soda speak because i would be concerned that the wish casting the desire for him to hit that home run with the one number one pick the fact that he is so big already offensively so good will lead a team to make a mistake i think they should give very careful consideration to the other players i just mentioned.
