"You're listening to the best of the Jason Rancho look quick hit. You know, we talked a little bit earlier with our friend Tiffany Smiley, who, of course, is running for Washington State Senate. She is running against Patty Murray, who's been during this entire debacle in Afghanistan. Kind of silent if she said anything, she's not making a big splash. Hasn't really said anything that's cut through. That's caught my attention. But as we talked about earlier on this hour, the speech It was awful from Joe Biden just yelling and B and a ring around repeating himself, but most concerning to me. It was just dishonest. I mean for him to explain that what we just witnessed was an extraordinary success. Means he there has no clue what's happening on the ground, or he thinks we're all stupid and don't have access. Two news outlets completed with the biggest airlifts in history. With more than 120,000. People evacuated the safety that Newt was more than double what most experts solar possible. No, no, no, no, it's not. I mean, the context is somewhat different here, Correct? You're saying that you put yourself in a position where it was nearly impossible to get all the Americans out, which you promised to do. You did better than what folks thought you could do because you didn't start at the time that made sense. You stranded Americans there. And you want us to think that this is a success? No nation. No nation has ever done anything like it in all history. How many nations decide to tell the Taliban that they're going to leave the country and hand over seed? All the power of security to to them. How How many nations say hey, terrorist organization. I'm gonna let you handle security for us. Yeah, we could have started this process earlier and done the actual permanent er security ourselves, But we would rather have a group of terrorists do it. The only the United States had the capacity and the will and ability to do it and we did it today. Extraordinary success of this mission was due to the incredible skill bravely and a selfless courage in the United States military and our diplomats and intelligence professionals. Now what he just did. There was kind of clever even though he slurred his way through it. He's trying to frame this or any criticism of what happened would be seen as a criticism of our troops. No honest person thinks any of the criticism is geared towards our troops. There's not a single person who is acting in good faith who believes that But he's framing it specifically to get you to stop saying anything critical because they normally none of us would want to criticize troops. Almost they need to be criticized. They did nothing wrong. Everything that went wrong was not due to anything having to do with them. But everything having to do with Joe Biden, who managed to blame Trump yet again for what happened to those who would say we should have stated definitely. For years on end. Yeah, they asked. Why don't we just keep doing what we were doing? So you're referring You're you're giving a speech based on what, Like four people are saying that That's what Okay, why do we have to change anything? The fact is everything had changed. Yeah, we have an incompetent president. See, we can all sound equally silly by putting emphasis where it shouldn't go. Uh, my.

"Rancho. Welcome back to the Jason Rancho. We're live on this Thursday afternoon. Thank you So much for tuning in. I really do appreciate it. Joe Biden announced a syriza of climate change moves and you can tell it's bad news for the economy. And, ultimately, ironically, the environment because of who is supporting it. Who was this now? I'm feeling extraordinarily encouraged. Oh, L see. There. I mean, she talked Cray Cray when it comes to, I mean everything but especially the environment, but still everything although under everything includes the environment. She's excited, and I think that the significance of President Biden's executive orders communicates a lot. One is that it really communicates that he meant what he said on the campaign trail that he would make climate change a central priority of this administration and that he considers it not just a national security threat, but frankly, you know the global matter that it is okay. Okay, Well, okay, Here's the good news. I'm gonna interpret that this way. Cause I am Jason Glass half full rants. He's returned. All, she said. There really was that he takes it seriously, but she didn't get specific. So that's good. It's not like he revealed any kind of tight relationship with the activist communities, because if that were the case, then we'd be in trouble. Also really significant. It also really signifies and good faith, openness and relationship to those activists, communities. They just that was not. I did not know she was going to say that you didn't know that she was going to say that. No, that's that. It's not good you had mentioned on these grassroots communities and organizations on the ground workers, etcetera, scientists saying We are not going to be resistant to grassroots movements. I like how she starts with grassroots movements. Workers on the ground, etcetera and scientists. Yes, just last etcetera. I know thinks of something else. Oh, yeah, and scientists the scientist people were going to collaborate and work with grassroots movements all across the United States to make sure that we're creating As many jobs and as much justice as possible as we fight to save our planet. Oh, she's a hero. I thought our planet was supposed to have exploded by now. It went from 12 years to 10 years to, I think a day and a half the last time I checked from AOC So what exactly did why didn't do? He promised to use the government's purchasing power to buy clean car fleet for the federal government Expensive but doesn't do anything. He's not gonna make a dent in the issue. This one does, though limiting domestic energy produced on federal lands and waters, which by the way doesn't just cost jobs. It undermines the environment because all we would do is just rely on foreign oil at that point, which not only means They're in charge. The foreign sources of oil. Including on how much we have to spend for it. But it has to be shipped here, which means More CEO too pumped into the environment. He said. The U. S will lead the world in the global effort to cut greenhouse gasses that are driving climate change. All of that, while other nations do not meet the same standards do not make the same pledges, which means the environment barely moves, but we suffer economic calamity. What he should be doing and something that I believe in as someone who is an environmentalist. Care about the environment. Evergreen adviser to the American Conservation Coalition. What he should be doing is investing in technology offering tax incentives. For businesses to invest in technology that creates better systems that are cleaner that can replace some of the dirty energy sources. But instead, what does he do? What the Democrats do. You look at it ideologically. When they go See gets excited. She's not excited about a policy because it helps the environment. She's excited about a policy that goes after big business. For folks like that. And you know, she mentioned the grassroots organizations go look at what the grassroots organizations believe in there. Almost always anti capitalist. That's what this is about. That's why, when you see what they're doing, they're not doing anything that helps businesses like a tax incentive to do the technological research. They hurt the very companies that even before this, we're trying to do that very work. Look at what they did to Elon Musk in California, used to be in California was run out. Because he had to constantly jump through hoops. He would get hit with tax after tax after tax fee after fee after fee Just to do what to create better modes of transportation like the Hyperloop he was trying to do that they made it impossible for him. No, of course who's very excited outside of AOC good old governor Jay Inslee. He's the climate change. Governor can't really point to any successes he has had other than branding himself around climate change, but he last night was on CNN with Chris Cuomo. And the way he talks about this should be concerning to anyone not here in Washington state because we are a little bit immune to the impacts of going after these Going dirty energy jobs listen to the way he talks about the people who are impacted the ones who work in coal and oil. These the other side wants to shackle people to a past of an area of declining jobs. This is a reality. We do not want to shackle our Children to the dead weight of jobs that are gonna exist 30 years from now, So in other words, you're telling them to learn to code right? Because if you say that on Twitter about journalists You get banned way Want to give our kids the jobs that are growing? And this is the number one job creation engine is clean energy, and I couldn't be more tickle. Look, this is a hallelujah moment, for my view is we've crossed the desert of denial and deception about climate change, and we have a president who understands how to create and he's doing that big time today. Oh, yeah, Okay. He's doing that. How many jobs Because what he ignores here and what so many of them ignore. Maybe just don't understand. Is that Simply saying to someone who will lose a job in the gas and oil industry, just working clean energy. Did you know that those air still different jobs? Yeah. You know that even in the gas and oil industry, you can't just hop from job to job. You still have to have a particular skill set. You can't go from an oil Derrick to installing solar panels, which, by the way, are incredibly expensive and inefficient at creating energy. I wish that weren't the case..

"Welcome back to the Jason Rancho thank you so much for tuning in. I said I wasn't going to talk about this. But we've got a couple of minutes left. And I I gotta be honest. I'm getting a little upset with the latest candidate to get into the Seattle city council race. And while I don't want to do a show that is focused on Seattle. All that much understand that the bad policies of Seattle end up spreading all across the state of Washington. So it's no longer. Oh, I live at Eton Ville, I live in Bellevue. I'm in Samambaia. It's not gonna impact me. It. Absolutely. Will Jim Puget has decided to run for a Seattle city council seat in district number seven. That's actually where I live in south lake union area. Jim Puget is a former interim police chief for the PD and the second that he announced yesterday via press release that he was running. I was inundated inundated with cops sending me messages about how much of an embarrassment. This guy is how much they dislike this guy. And the funny thing is he believes that Seattle is moving in the right direction when it comes to police reform. I think car invested into doing a hell of a good job. Thanks. He's got a good staff old civilian and sworn around her. I know that mayor Durkan is taken seriously. And I believe we're heading in the right direction if he believes we're heading in the right direction. The fact of the matter is in the media, they don't have anyone who has their back. I have their backs because they do a lot of work on behalf of all of us. And it's the least we can do is help them. Give them a voice because here's one comment. I got Jim is a disgrace to all of the brave men and women who proudly professionally service police officers in the city of Seattle another one, he's an absolute embarrassment. Let me tell you. There was some comments that were show over the line. And mean, frankly that I couldn't print that? That's how strong people dislike him and part of the reason why they dislike him so much. He decided to endorse I nine forty and not just endorse. I nine forty this anti-cop Bill that makes it easier to. Politically, prosecute officers who use deadly force. He decided to go into a commercial on video with the sister of charleena Lyles the woman who decided to Laura cops into our home under a false, call of being robbed grabbing a knife. And then trying to stab them he sided with her. He's on the same side is Andre Taylor. Who's brother a convicted felon? Jay Taylor was killed by police after officers and a witness saw him pull a gun on those cops. A gun that he wasn't prohibited. He wasn't allowed to have. He decided to support I nine forty. He is viewed as a sellout. And that's us. Not a pro cop talk show host saying it's cops themselves. With one exception. With one exception, everyone that I talked to you had bad things to say about this guy. One exception the nicest thing someone said was also with a little bit of a caveat that they don't trust his motives. In fact, that quote, I am skeptical of what chief pugilist motivation is. I have so many comments here's one that. I got sent to me just today as a police officer that served under Puget I feel betrayed for his backing of I nine forty PG become a hypocrite that only sees political aspirations and disappointed that he's running for council and as a Seattle resident he will not be receiving my vote. If so many cops dislike this guy and understand that this is a brotherhood right in a sister. These are people who stick together because they understand what they all go through its shared experience that is very traumatic for a lot of folks, they don't normally speak out against other officers. Because of that closeness, they're speaking out in a very loud voice saying no to Jim Putul that should be a red flag..

"It. Oh, well, I can't doesn't look good. Sorry. But it's controversial sky. News is reporting that some people are upset that Bryan Cranston who is able body. He's taken the role from a paraplegic. And I'm so glad that Bryan Cranston actually has a thoughtful response to the criticism because let's be clear political correctness has gone too far. It's gone way. Too far with social Justice warriors who are literally trying to ruin careers in order to push their ideological positions. They're extreme ideological positions. And it's time for us to fight back. And that's a Bryan Cranston is doing he said while he's aware of the need to expand opportunities. He says the latest casting was quote unquote, a business decision. This is what he said in the interview we live in the world of criticism. If we're willing to get up and try something we have to also be willing to take criticism. We're very aware of the need to expand the opportunities for people with disabilities. I think being cast in this role as a quadriplegic really came down to a business decision as actors we are asked to be other people to play other people if I as a straight older person, I'm wealthy. I'm very fortunate. Does that mean I can't play a person who is not wealthy? Does. That mean, I can't play a homosexual. I don't know. Where does the restrictions apply? Where is the line for that? I think it's worthy for debate to discuss those issues, and I do as well if you're saying that only quadriplegic people can play quadriplegic roles. Here's the deal. You will never see quadriplegics or pear police six unscreened. I'm told that there is a lot to be said about seeing people who are different than you. And I on screen. There's a lot said to see yourself onscreen, if you happen to be quadriplegic if you happen to be gay if you happen to be Jewish. If you happen to be Muslim you want to see that onscreen, especially if you wanna live in a world where our movies accurately reflect our reality. But the problem is you're never gonna see any of that. Because there are only so many quadriplegic actors can you name a single one. I can't. Are there quadriplegic actors out there, I'm assuming so are they going to be able to bring a whole bunch of butts into seats in a theater? No, not the way. Bryan, Cranston, Kevin Hart Cam. If you say that only Asian writers can write Asian characters. Okay. But then movies will never be diverse. You're never going to have that many Asian people in any movies because the truth is the majority of the writers out there the screenwriters out. There are white. Now, I'm going to assume that then only Asian writers can write Asian characters. They can't write white ones. They can't write black ones. If you happen to be a straight writer that means you can't write any gay characters. Why have we allowed political correctness to distract us from what's actually important in this world? Are things so good that this is what your petty beliefs are going to call you to you're going to be called to arms over the fact that Bryan Cranston is playing a quadriplegic actor really what is wrong with your life. That gets you upset. Do you understand the unintended consequences of your political correctness? Because it impacts not just art, but impacts policy from Seattle to Tacoma to Hollywood to Paris. "This is a big local on the Jason Rancho Olympia Everett Mercer island stories about you. Not about Seattle. Shout out to our friends over at Tulalip resort casino. They let us do something called the big local where we get to talk about stories impacting the neighborhoods you actually live in and we get to completely ignore the city of Seattle. And that makes me so happy ignoring the city of Seattle. We start this morning in Everett where final federal approval of commercial passenger service at Paine field supposed to be on February eleventh, but unfortunately, due to the government shutdown, according to the this could all be delayed. The FAA's Gregory Martin told the Everett herald that quote, the partial shutdown could potentially delay and quote, the agency's approval or disapproval which will be based on revised environmental assessment the assessment is going to be approved. No, one expects otherwise. So what this means is it could take a little bit while longer for service to start at Paine field, which if that's the case that could be a big pain in the butt for people who already bought tickets to the inaugural flights from Alaska and United because they're both between them offering twenty four daily departures to places like LA San fr. Francisco San Jose, San Diego, Las Vegas, and they're the prices are the prices, they're they're stupidly cheap right now. You can go to I think it was for sixty four dollars from Paine field and to go to San Francisco or San Diego. I think it's seventy nine dollars. So they're really really low prices have to fly like a Tuesday night read these are on all of their or a good chunk of their flights twenty four a day. So that means you're going to get them throughout the day from both. I mean, you gotta take United and you're kinda sucks, but Alaska is great, and it's a home grown company. So we like that I I look this especially with some of the the prices at the start which they're so low because they want to bring attention to the fact that they offer service now from painful, and these prices are not gonna last like, I would almost go there. Even if you're closer to seatac because there's going to be less of a crowd. I'm assuming the parking situation at Paine field is going to be cheaper. If you drive and just the prices to get into some of these way cheaper to go there. So I feel. Bad for the people. If there is a delay. And I don't know how many people expect there to be the late into February. And I feel like this is one of those things that they can kind of get it just for the employees to say, okay. Just check off the paperwork and then go back on your furlough. I know you've flown in and out of Burbank. But hopefully, it'll be something like that. Because that's so in Los Angeles or right by LA. It's a dream. There's almost never aligned that's deeper than ten people you go through security super quickly. It's a small airport. They're almost always on time. And I was because I follow some of the blogs on traveling just to get see if there's any deals because I do a fair amount of travel. I've saw photos of pain fields interior. It's gorgeous. It's insane. How good it is. So,.

"Oh, well, I can't doesn't look at sorry. But it's controversial Sky News reporting that some people are upset that Bryan Cranston who is able body. He's taken the role from pair pelagic. And I'm so glad that Bryan Cranston actually has a thoughtful response to the criticism because let's be clear political correctness has gone too far. It's gone way. Too far with social Justice warriors who are literally trying to ruin careers in order to push their ideological positions. There are extreme ideological positions. And it's time for us to fight back. And that's what Bryan Cranston is doing. He said while he's aware of the need to expand opportunities. He says the latest casting was quote unquote, a business decision. This is what he said in the interview we live in the world of criticism. If we're willing to get up and try something we have to also be willing to take criticism. We're very aware of the need to expand the opportunities for people with disabilities. I think being cast in this role is a quadriplegic really came down to a business decision as actors we are asked to be other people to play other people if I as a straight older person, and I'm wealthy. You will never see quadriplegics or pair of allegiance onscreen. I'm told that there is a lot to be said about. Seeing people who are different than you. And I on screen. There's a lot said to see your cell phone screen. If you happen to be quadriplegic, if you happen to be gay if you happen to be Jewish. If you happen to be Muslim you want to see that on screen, especially if you wanna live in a world where our movies accurately reflect our reality. But the problem is you're never gonna see any of that. Because there are only so many quadriplegic actors can you name a single one. I can't. Are there quadriplegic actors out there, I'm assuming so are they going to be able to bring a whole bunch of butts into seats in a theater? No, not the way, Bryan, Cranston and Kevin Hart Cam. If you say that only Asian writers can write Asian characters. Okay. But then movies will never be diverse. You're never gonna have that many Asian people in any movies because the truth is the majority of the writers out there the screenwriters out. There are white. Now, I'm going to assume that then only Asian writers can write Asian characters. They can't write white ones. They can't write black ones. If you happen to be a straight writer that means you can't write any gay characters. Why have we allowed political correctness to distract us from what's actually important in this world? Are things. So good. This is what your petty beliefs are going to call you to you're gonna be called to arms over the fact that Bryan Cranston is playing a quadriplegic actor really what is wrong with your life. That that gets you upset. Do you understand the unintended consequences of your political correctness? Because it impacts not just art, but impacts policy from Seattle to Tacoma to Hollywood to Paris. You're causing a whole bunch of problems. That don't actually you're getting mad at a problem that does not exist in your hypersensitivity is making everybody around you completely miserable. "Welcome back to the Jason Rancho lively online training academies. Do I have to say, I I'm so disgusted by some of the activists on the pro-abortion side when they pull stunts like what was just pulled by Amelia Bonao. She's the co founder of the shout your abortion movement, which basically wants to normalize abortion. And pretend it's not a serious decision for women to make they don't like that at some point, you know, people on the pro-abortion side or the pro choice. I would say, hey, look abortion. You have a right to an abortion in this country. And we also want to make it clear that you know, what it is still a very difficult choice today. And I think that that's a good argument to be made because the truth is you have a right to an abortion.
