This was another defensive slog here. This one was three three going into the fourth quarter. Ravens end up pulling one out in their own building. On one hand, you know, we continue to be a little bit concerned about what the ravens are doing offensively. But defensively, they're really good again. Bigger Mayfield was back under center for Carolina. And early in this game, I was like, oh, everything that threw us behind the line of scrimmage. It was kind of like, I dunno, let's just go. What are you doing? You got nothing to lose. Start chucking it. But man, there was nothing, there's nothing you could do between the pass rush and the fact that there was just nothing open down field. This was a huge mismatch on that side of the ball. It is really nice to have Jason Pierre Paul is your 9th rotational defensive pass rusher. And you use them a couple times a game and that's a really neat thing for you to have. I think that they are so incredibly deep defensively. And it's weird this time of year to be that deep on defense. So I think they have that going for them. And there's going to be these weird games where you just get absolutely nothing out of Lamar Jackson in the offense. They're not going to be able to run the ball. All the passes look weird. As the game went on. It's like they're not coming back. Let's get this over with. Andy Reid, head coach of the Chiefs, who was also looking for his second Super Bowl victory. He's the head coach. What else is he going to do? He's going to take the blame, and he did. As far as this game goes, they play better than we did on bats. My responsibility. I take full responsibility for it. Um, you just can't. You can't do the things that we did, Um, on being a good football team like that, in particular this level. And it wasn't just the defense and this is a another point, worth mentioning. Watching that game, looking at the first half when you still had maybe Ah, some belief or some hope that Kansas City would stay active. Maybe they would put it such down upon the board before we went to halftime. Yeah, the referees. Oh, my God. And I always say, And this is the story is true. I don't care what game it is. Patrick Mahomes didn't excellent job of this early. It's an age is basically saying, Listen, we we control what we control. You can understand. This is a part of the game with the rest, but damn Kansas City 95 penalty yards, eight flags just in the first half. That our football field worth the penalty flags and the rest would just throwing them won't pass interference. Gonna suck the life out of the game at the early on side at the beginning. You saw the frustration from a tire on Matthew and you saw Tom Brady barking at him, ultimately of which Tom Brady sent a text message and apologized. But it just seems that the Russ didn't do them any favors. The offensive line, which is their own doing did not do them any favors. The game was ugly. The game was disappointing overall from an entertainment perspective, and we got to see what happens. But one thing is for certain at the end of the game when.

I think we'll see next year is really the reckoning. As far as this in my mind anyway, put the question into, you know, we know the NFL defense is when they catch up with these quarterbacks. And they find out you know the way to stop them and exposed her weakness. And so I think we'll see next year. This puts a question in my mind about last year's Super Bowl. "There's so much talent on both side of the ball with both of these teams, so this should be a great game. We'll give you our predictions. I'll just do it from the top. It's just to feel the Chiefs have kind of slept, walked through the last half of the season, just winning games because they're like, All right, hurry up and get to the Super Bowl. Now they're in the Super Bowl. But they also have a pass rush with four guys. And I know what Pat Mahomes that mom's is excellent even when he's under pressure these a second highest quarterback rating when he's under pressure. This season. So just pressuring the homes doesn't mean that he's going to self destruct. Just the opposite. He doesn't do that at all. But Jason Pierre Paul and Shack Barrett, especially in the playoffs have been absolute chaos for opposing quarterbacks. That's what it's going to come down to. That's what it's going to come down to. It may come down to which team can hold the opposition to field goals to more questions for you. He's one. But you know, my mind really has gone to just this past season. I mean, even if the Buccaneers lose On Sunday. It's incredible that they've gotten to this point that Tom Brady at 43 years old was able to undergo his first ever change of scenery to a new team for the first time in his career. And not only bring the talent under center that he has, but just bring the culture of success and moving or incongruity that he's been able to bring to this franchise to turn them in from the 17 19. Way playoff contender that went three straight road playoff games to get to this point, the Super Bowl. I think that's an incredible achievement. It's something that I definitely did not see coming this season and I mean, like you said, Tom. Like I said, I guess Tom Brady hasn't necessarily been you know, in MPP candidate you know, we found his ups and downs this year. But the fact that he's just been able to be a leader for this team on and off the field and in the defense has followed his lead as well and trying to save him when Tom Brady makes three straight interceptions and in the NFC championship game, It's incredible, and he's it can't be overstated the kind of culture that he's been able to implement and Tampa Bay and and that's exactly why they're at this point fighting for a Super Bowl victory in their home stadium Sunday. "Well a ref- last time. We talked to you wild card weekend with six playoff games over two days and you pretty much didn't have any time to eat or sleep this weekend. We only had two games both on sunday. So is your home. Look by comparison on a weekend like this much cleaner. I can say that and not only do i have time to eat. I have time to cook. I'm very excited. That's awesome well. Let's start with the early game. The bucks beat the packers. Thirty one to twenty six tampa bay went up twenty eight to ten in this game. What was the key for them building on this big lead. I think a lot of it's just the pressure they were able to produce the packers reduced to having lucas patrick and billy turner on their offensive line and it gets shaquille barrett and jason paul. There really isn't enough. I mean they're used to having a top three offensive line in the nfl. In fact both of those teams are and without that aaron rodgers is under pressure much more often that affected a lot of throws and of a lot more often than we typically see second and eight jerseys. Jason pierre paul. I think that was a big part of it. But also i mean as many times as tampa bay receivers willing to drop the ball. I mean they are better receivers than the packers have in that secondary in that easy pretty good secondary. A huge storyline throughout this game was also the bucks on third down conversions. What did you see from them. So well under pressure a lot of it is just the packers third down defense was just not very well designed and this has been a typical problem for mike patton and his defenses. And i think the that the buccaneers kind of organised out of their game plan around what they would expect to see on third down and so you ended up seeing like for a brief period of time. They had one hundred percent success rate on third down and like a ten percent success rate on first and second down it was kind of nuts. But yeah i think for the most part. They anticipated some blitzes. This saw man coverage they decided. Hey you know i. I think that chris godwin. Or mike evans can beat this guy and this guy was usually kevin king but they were able to win a variety of throughout the game especially on third down where i think things were just a little bit more predictable for them in the second half. Tom brady three interceptions on three consecutive possessions. Third down to brady throws it under pressure. The packers failed to convert the last two of those into any kind of points. How we're the bucks able to hold that lead after three turnovers. Some of it is the individual talent of the players that they've gotten a secondary thing. Carlton davis is really put a stamp on the nfl especially in the postseason. But he's going to be one of those rising players to watch next season that will be identifying and he's played very well but i think some of it is just to have an enormously fast defense and i think was the kind of got a feel for what the packers were attempted to do offensively. They just had a better understanding of what needed to be done. We're the players needed to be in how to hit those landmarks because they weren't really being ton of their defense. From a schematic perspective. They were just kinda getting to their landmarks. a lot. faster. Whether against the runner of the pass the defining play this game was packers coach. But given the fact that they had three timeouts plus they were ahead of the two minute warning. There's a little bit more time than you. Typically anticipate so from an analytical perspective. It doesn't seem like as bad of a decision. But honestly i think that you take into account some of these situational factors like the fact that the packers have the best red zone offense.
