"But slater's just i don't know everything about it. Has he given up a sack yet. I think shocks handling myles garrett one on one this is the best edge in the league in my do you like myles garrett we've already seen can dominate teams dominated the bears e putting he literally hand like handed the bears and embarrassment vows bat. Also worse. I think i heard that was the worst performance by team in the nfl or super bowl era. I believe it. I mean he was making jason peters look like he was just a swinging door like he wasn't even there did. It was bad like in just as a rookie doing that. Plus you have corey wensley Which signing that they lost. The packers lost austin exciting. I wanted him honestly. I when i thought we were gonna lose trent williams. I wanted corey lansley. The charges are good. They look really good in awesome dude but also the chiefs look bad. Look bad if you read the article you would see that. I asked if the chiefs have a serious problem before this game. They're going to have a tough time against the bills. And while i was writing them like Let's come back to bite me if they if they finally click here but they do a lot. And i've also talked about. I think i do. I have this on here. I think one of my game reviews was going to be the bills chiefs. But if you watch that game it it looked like the chiefs looked so sluggish. If you've watched the chiefs this whole year what they do their defense sucks. They're like they're probably the worst defense in the league. I feel like them in. Seattle are on the lead evans. Seattle are up there. Like they're they're fighting and then like If you the combination of the chiefs this is why they're doing bad is because patrick they figure them out. You can't have a team and this is kind of like i'm pulling back the packers 'cause you know they're i feel they're the biggest example of this if a team if you know a team's only gonna pass the ball you just drop back like every person and just rush to like especially if you have great rushers eka just rush two or three and have hoped to have that. But you're going to force a quarterback to try to make plays and if you just know that you can't win a team you have to keep the fair. Let a defense. They're definitely but we've already known chiefs her only pass team and the torch you over the past. I mean you look at. I thought edwards hilar- was gonna take a huge step forward this year. I thought he was going to be awesome. Took a huge step back where he dominated the bills last. Remember and lewis good game in this game. He ever listened to yards a carry. Their leading rusher was mahomes by a significant margin and there are a couple teams who can win with their leading rusher being their quarterback the chiefs are not one of them. Yeah we will get into that. But it was patrick mahomes. He looks like he's in. This is the thing with these new quarterbacks. Like an all talk about this. With the mar- these new quarterbacks are looking for the trendy thing they're looking for it to be trendy and patrick mahomes trying to look for new sidearm pass. He's making these huge risks. Which now. I think he's just aggressive..

"Maybe thrown the ball away from the pocket and avoided a sacred tube by just getting rid of the football, like throwing it in the dirt or something. There were a couple times all that Justin Fields was hesitant and was afraid to do the wrong things. We just took a sack rather than getting rid of the ball getting it out of his hands. But did you guys see Jason Peters trying to play left tackle against Cleveland? Jason Peters was awful. The left tackle for the bears? Do you see his cut block on a three step from the shotgun passing point? Where Jesse always takes a long drop. Jason Peters tries to cut block. You cut block. Then what's your plan? You're on the ground. You can't actually do any pass pro if you're on the ground. Was there a miscommunication? Did he think Justin Fields is going to catch and throw the ball immediately? He's like, what's going on there? Jason Peters, how to play where, for some reason, he didn't expect to be blocking miles Garrett who's the guy outside of him. Miles Garrett on your left, and Jason Peters for some reason, was he on drugs? I don't know. He just doesn't even look at ball snapped, doesn't even look at a miles Gerard off to his left. He just focuses in, there's no one who has left a block mail Garrett. He lets miles Garrett get halfway past him and then gives like a half assed block trying to block. I'm like, what are you doing? Jason Peters is a well respected NFL veteran. Look, I don't know what he's doing here, but that was not the way. He was awful against miles Gary. And when you have your left tackle playing that badly, you can't do anything. Ask the Titans week one against Taylor Taylor Wanda's horrible week one against the colts. This is the cold two to the Titans play week one. Whoever the Seattle maybe, whoever, Taylor lewan was really, really awful week one. Whoever the Titans played out, I'm blanking on that, but I remember he makes terrible..

"Is like jesse. The video of the mets manager terry collins. Losing it on an umpire and that was when he said My ass is in the jackpot or your asses in the jackpot. Somebody's somebody's asked was in the jackpot and then it was just like he's kind of just like acute old man screaming and gruden's not like our producer. Salvi said our asses in the jackpot. That's what it was so there were multiple acid on this. It's like i put grew in that category where he's not quite cute old man yet but he was like you know most of us know him as k tv guy or like he was the corona man and now like the corona man is screaming at me. And it's just like okay. You know like you're you're just you know it's not like it's not like sean. Payton after the sean payton during the nfc championship game. Where like that. That was scary. Like you saw rage in that man's is you know and and so i think that there's a difference a little bit so he had developments in chicago. One of those at the bears are now a five hundred team. They they won this game. And i think the most encouraging thing about the way they won this game is they want it. Twenty eighteen style. They took the ball away a bunch of times a second half four takeaways. Overall at one point they intercepted three consecutive. Joe borough passes. One of them was a pick six. This is how the bears have to win football games. If they are going to threaten anyone in the nfc roquan smith had one of the picks and you know tremendous performance so there are definitely you know. A lot is riding on the defense because they started the season. With andy dalton. Andy dalton gets injured in this game. And now it's just fields time. Which was a decision matinee. Gi was obviously putting off so now he can focus on fields but to this point. It's been sort of this while we're going to stick with dalton until an undated point in the future when fields will play well fields in in in the middle of the game which is not an ideal situation to be entering your first. Nfl regular season game For an extended period of time. Not just i snap here and there so it was a good day for the defense to be taking the ball away and to be putting points on the board and to be. You know making it a lot easier for the quarterback to win. It's it's so it's so am. I don't wanna make excuses for for matt nagy here but watching these games. It's so interesting. Because i don't know what i would do if i were him either. I mean i think of course just in fields is the player that you can do more with but on any given snap. I'm jason peters. Is i mean god. Love them is doing the best that he can at thirty nine and there are some times you know. There's that play. A week ago where he unconsciously sense like a rusher coming from the back side and didn't even look and just turned around and through a guy like thirty yards but then there were so many other plays this week. Where you know. He's just he's kicked off the edge. You know if if somebody just beats them he beats him. And it's not because jason is a bad..

"It's to bet they don't. It's too bad that's only was gradient spewing out all the stuff that the that the bears coaches were giving him. What's amazing you know. Wasn't that absolutely amazing. I mean what the bears and he didn't even hide it that well to where it's like boy. They were really just bus tossing the quarterback. I don't even think half of the stuff they said it's probably true. They're just trying to further the agenda. Of what andy dalton. So that way we can make it to the end of the year by saying you know what we three or four justin fields out of the back pocket. Let's go what a jack collins. Where thank of the decision to start. Andy dalton whatever's dad. Told him we gotta stop with this show every time. Yeah that's a good question. I mean he's often. But jack thing that's what i want. I don't know it's a good question. Absolute twenty seven to thirty eight for two hundred sixty but we know kevin jenkins was the bear second round pick supposed to be there left tackle. He's done for half the season. Maybe the whole season. Jason peters brought thirty nine years old. He gets her but third stringer gets are at their literally down to their fourth straight tackled. It's great in chicago right now. Bears two and a half point favorites against the bengals coming up on sunday in soldier field. Total of forty six in adult revenge game against cincinnati. Imagine this actually being a thing when fields is on the roster rams favourite colts. That's an intriguing game l. a. Four and a half at the colts. Total forty six and a half. We'll get to indianapolis. We'll get the cincinnati coming up in a bit here but now we go to the music city where it was a cardinal beatdown of tennessee titans tannehill on fourth down did and sack tendler jones five sacks on the day for fifty five chandler jones making some money k. "Rams 13 bears Nothing second down 11 Chicago They've got it at the Rams 13 yard line after the time out, was taken by Sean McVeigh. Rams have one time out left. Larry Boram checked in along the offensive line for the Bears. Taking over for Jason Peters had to tackle spot. Dalton signals over the sideline receivers left single man right here is the snap. Dalton back pressure coming. Don't steps up, moving to his right. He's going to run across the tent cuts back to the five dives down at about the three He's going to be just shy of the first out. It appears Darius Williams with the tackle. It's a run of 13th down and one inside a minute to go here in this first half. Outstanding job by Andy Dalton. Everybody was covered up. He did what he had to scramble slide in don't have to panic. You have great opportunity to score touchdown right here bears all four on third down, we'll give it to Montgomery straight ahead. He's got the first down diving for the goal line. He's in touchdown bears David Montgomery with a three yard touchdown run, and with 34 seconds to go in the first half, Chicago is on the board. Rams on top 13 6 with the extra point coming up. My only question would be did it give too much time, But I don't think they did 2034 seconds left on the clock. Outstanding job by the Bear's having their best field position of the night, moving the ball down the field and a cruel situation and getting that touchdown before half Montgomery getting out of the grasp of Aaron Donald. And surging ahead for that touchdown. So now Cairo Santos is on for the extra point. Try. O Donnell, the punter will hold it. Patrick Scales is the long snapper. He sends it back to O'Donnell. The ball is down to kick from Santos is on the way. It is good. Breaking the action with the score ramps 13 bears seven. You're listening to Sunday Night football off Westwood one. "To the right hand side where they had that little bunch at and then Jalen Ramsey did a great job because anytime you're the number two defenders, which he was, you have to play outside in. He did not let that receiver get outside of him. He made sure he made that tackle Samir Bird was trying to block Jalen Ramsey and Ramsey said No, sir. Third down and 15. Now two receivers left to the right. Dalton is in the shotgun with Montgomery to his left three down linemen for the Rams. Here's the snap. Four man Rush Bolton pumps to his right looks left throws that side that's caught on the sidelines by Bird tackled by long shy of the first down. But a nice game. We'll see what Matt Nagy wants to do. Now. He went forward on fourth and four on the last drive. This will be fourth down and around four yards inside the 40 at the 38 Yard line. It's a gain of 11. And the offense is staying out there. Matt Maggie understands he has to score points to stay with this football team because they are explosive. I think everybody saw what Matthew Stafford did in that first drive. How how strong his arms still is. And how many weapons do you has on the offensive side? They're going to put points on the board. The Bears have two points on the board in the first half. This will be fourth and four. They need the Rams 34 for a first down dolphin. The shotgun trips right single man left. Here's the snap back looking about Russia Don't hit ball was out loose on the term. Recovered by Rams Right now. They're saying it's a fumble. Rams football. Justin Hollins is the man that knocked it out of there, and Kenny Young came away with it. The Rams defense stands tall again. Just in Holland. He came around, stripped the ball just a speed rush on the outside. In a so tough and just Jason Peters. He needs a set back further to make that block on the outside. He didn't get there. This Rams defense. This Rams football team just seems very fast right now, a lot faster than the Bears football team. We talk about Aaron. Donald. We know what he can do. Jalen Ramsey has been a big part of this, but we're seeing so many other guys get involved, whether it's long or Hollins, Kenny Young, so many different guys making plays right now for the Rams, they'll take over at their own 42.

"Anyone watch the game last night. Bucks cowboys. I don't know about you, but Dak Prescott and Tom Brady. We're looking awfully good. It got me very excited about football. And then Mark Carmen, I got incredibly scared about. Whoa. Well, our our beer is going to be okay this year. Are they going to be okay? I don't know. I don't know what to make of what's going to happen here. Mark, How are you doing? I'm doing Great Anna and at 1 23 on September the 10th ahead of a Sunday night battle with the Matthew Stafford now led Los Angeles Rams, who many are picking to go to the Super Bowl. It doesn't feel right to Count the bears out in 2021. But logically, this doesn't perhaps seemed like the year they're going to win the Super Bowl. No, But making the playoffs would be nice. It would be a nice showing for us is it just seems like it's been a long period of time and a lot of ups and downs and a lot of downs, and then we get to this point where we're very excited about the up and coming rookie quarterback But I don't know. I don't know. I just want to be optimistic and I'm excited. They're back. I just I want to be optimistic about the season. Do you have reason to be optimistic? Mark Harmon. Well, and I will remind you, Anna, because I think I have to remind everyone I'm actually reminding myself. The Bears did make the playoffs last year. It just didn't feel like they made the playoffs. Right. Exactly. I mean, they they played the same. They were never in the game. They lost 21 to 9. They finished eight and eight. They've been in the playoffs. What now? Three the last four years, So it's just, uh And just don't do anything in the playoffs. Well, how about go to the playoffs and and look and feel as if you're going to advance in the playoffs? Not just sort of limp in and limp out. I mean, that's I don't know. Look, there's something the Tribune today and I think it really kind of it. Just it sums up what All of our listeners were telling us this week. We did this thing and if you heard described the Bears season in three words And I will tell you there are a lot of people who are hopeful. I'm hopeful fields of dreams won the contest. One of the winners finally, our year, lots of optimism. But then I got to say if you really if you really looked at all of the responses, people and they're not all there. I mean, they would want to be there. But we're not. We're not a believer, and maybe it's just it's just more patients we need. Is that what we need mark? I don't know if it's patients. Look, Let's just let the bears their offensive line should not be as good. They're relying on a 39 year old left tackle your most important offensive line position in Jason Peters, who was retired and was on a fishing boat when there Second round draft pick where they traded up to get even though he had back issues at college in Oklahoma State. Um let's emergency find the 39 year old to protect Andy Dalton and eventually Justin Fields, so that's not good and defensively. They're you know, they're they're best cornerback Kyle Fuller is no longer with the team that that was a salary cap casualty. So like they literally have done nothing to make you excited about the team outside of the fact that they traded up and drafted Justin Fields, which Everybody is excited about it should be excited about but we don't know when he's going to play so I don't know what you do with all of that, but it should make hopefully for some very entertaining pre and post game shows with good old Hamp. It'll be that's exactly what I was going to lead to with you and Hampton will be and I love it when they pound the table and I'm going to guess what do you think will be the most pound capable moment throughout the I'm going to put mine out there? Matt Maggie play calling. That's my bet. Go ahead, which I think that's a great call, by the way in very understated that Matt step back from calling the plays last year billings or stepped in fillets or did better than Maggie and then a very small announcement in the off season in April. That Maggie's taking back the play calling duties because he wants to be this offensive guru, so That is the spotlight this year. How do you develop the quarterback and the Bears Just making weird comments about how Justin Field is going to play dependent on how Andy Dalton does. And that's really not how they should be going about this. I think everyone literally but the Bears field that way like, hey, when the guys ready and there is no rush, by the way, let them learn for however long he needs to learn. But when he's ready And you're Make that decision and that decision you should. You should, in theory be able to do because this is the position. You can put it in life. Let the guy play because that's your future period and the story no rush When he's ready, let them out. They're not dependent on if Andy Dalton is doing great things. I totally agree could not agree more. It's when he's ready. Absolutely. But maybe they promised Andy Dalton some, I don't know. I mean, these are delicate things. Maybe that's part of it. No one's promised anything in life well, and he seemed to think so, he says. It's my time when he's given all those interviews, saying, this is my time to believe the offense. Okay, so enough of this other guy. Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Yeah, It's your time when the check gets there, That's all they owe you. Well, that's not bad. If he has to sit on the sidelines and still get paid, whatever it is 10 million, you know, that's great that that doesn't seem like a bad thing in it. I don't right, right. Right. Right. Right. Tell us about Yeah, tell us about the free and proposed that will be is must listen. Radio on W g m with you in Hampton OBE. Yeah, we're super excited. The text chain is is flying very rapidly as the seasons approaching here, but one hour pregame before every game and then right after the game will be on for a two hour post. So we start this Sunday at six o'clock ahead of the Bears and the Rams will be out after the game. Perhaps I do. I am optimistic on this Sunday and just because literally everybody is picking the Rams to win in the public is in general. It's not foolproof, but the public generally is wrong. So, uh, brawler like that gamblers that Yeah. I mean, at least to be competitive. I don't know if they're going to win the game, but I expect the Bears could be in the game. I expect them to cover on Sunday night. Seven. A half points. The blind keeps on moving around here. So Plus is there Is there really a thing as an L. A Rams fan? I don't think l a people do they really follow. That team. I don't I don't get that sense. You know, it's interesting because you know, there used to be in ST Louis. And I do think there are still some Rams fans in ST Louis that claim them, Uh, dog, which to our Midwest? Rather it out there. We love you. And we feel your pain down there even though we want the cardinals to lose every game, But, uh, yeah, I gotta run you. Listen. Okay, Bye. I didn't mean you only one second left, but okay, Bye. "Who's the person who not only drafted Mitchell trubisky, but traded up in the draft to go get him? Ryan pace made that happen. Ryan pace as the person to blame. And then I look at this bear's roster. Their team is a mess. Oh my gosh, suddenly, when I stopped drinking the Kool-Aid, I'm like, okay, what's happening here? And I've never seen the matrix, but I know there's a moment in the matrix where just from seeing a hearing. Well, the main character's eye is just open up and they're like, wow, holy world. I had a whole new experience when I realized, oh my gosh, I look at this bear's team. There's problems everywhere, the person who's the problem is the person who built this roster, and that's Ryan pace. And he must be clearly terrible at evaluating talent. The only things he could do is say, hey, clearly, Khalil Mack is really good. And I think you listen to the media. In fact, they drafted Kevin Jenkins who already got hurt out for the year. I'm like, did he see Brett Coleman's video and say I'm drafting that guy? I don't know. I certainly would not trust Ryan pace. I think it's very possible that he's literally listening to the media to figure out who to draft. And it happens more than people realize. This offensive line in Chicago is not good. It is not good. In fact, they have a better chance to win with Justin Fields. I hope they don't put him out there early on. But because Justin Fields can run around and escape pressure, in fact, he might be the better answer at quarterback than Andy Dalton almost immediately because at least he can run around and keep some plays alive where Andy Dalton's going to get sacked. I think over and over and over again and I fear they're not going to barely be able to move the ball. Now the bear is starting right tackle Justin, sorry, Jason Peters. I want to get that right. The bear starting left tackle, Jason Peters, is 39 years old. He's aging. He's not what he needs to be. And in my opinion, the entire bears offensive line needs to be rebuilt. In fact, the only person I would keep his guard at Cody whitehair. Keep him replace all four other guys. Get a whole new offensive line. At corner , the bears are very inexperienced. They have second year starters, Jalen Johnson, and Kindle vendor who Kindle vendor sounds like a fake name. I was like, that's really, that's really his name. I had to share that. I rather like, well, I guess, that's really his name. No offense to him. I just like Kindle vendors, a hard name to say, it's kind of weird. Neither guy, Kindle vendor or jaylen Johnson has an interception and their entire NFL career. And look, there's weakness after weakness after weakness. On the spares roster. And I'm tired of blaming the wrong people. I'm like, okay, what's the real problem here? It's Ryan pace. Now, there is some interesting talent, a broken clock is right twice a day. Receivers Alan Robinson and Darnell Mooney.

"I'm not looking for Cade McNown for those you don't remember when Cade was a rookie, and they drafted him in the first round. Didn't matter who started how that quarterback was doing the first two series. They would placate McNown the third series of every game, and it didn't matter how Caid played if Kate led them on a 10 play drive. He would not get the fourth series. Um if you went home if he went three and out, and there were three runs, he would not play the fourth series. So It was just kind of weird. They were trying to get him experience I am saying is a quarterback. If you don't want Justin Fields to bite off more than he can chew as a starter, there are still ways that you can have him, be the quarterback learn and give you the best chance to win on that particular play. Because of his skill set. His throwing ability is running ability. Many different reasons. Why this isn't I'm not looking for tricks. This isn't like a trickeration thing. This is like listen to Sean McVeigh. This is one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL. Preparing for the Bears offense would be naive for us not to prepare for them to be able to utilize him in some form or fashion. But And he's a winning quarterback in this league does a great job. I really have seen a lot of film of Andy even going back to when Jay Gruden was his coordinator at Cincinnati so very familiar with what a really good quarterback he is. He does a great job. Accurate anticipation recognizes the looks defensively can straighten up protection. So Andy Dalton is a really good quarterback, and it'll be a great challenge. And then you see the ways that Justin, you know, made a lot of players going back to his career at Ohio State. What he showed in the preseason. And so I think you got to be ready for for either or but it's gonna be a challenge for sure. So he started by saying it be naive like you believe both of them. I would probably play ball horse and and I do believe there will be a Justin Fields package that will be at their disposal. You believe Sean McVeigh when he says, Oh, yeah, we're gonna We're going to prepare for for Justin Fields package. But then you don't believe him when he goes into this long about dark. There's a new holtz description of the greatness of Andy Dalton. Pick and choose where you want to believe John Mcd a bobbin LaGrange. You're on ESPN 1000 Bobby. How you doing today? We're good. Anybody that have any eyes can see that Justin Fear is phenomenal Ballplayer. He's the best quarterback the Bears ever had in the history. So we're talking about Kate right now. It ain't even coached. So this kid control the ball, and he's very, very smart. So what are they worried about him getting great. I think they're worried about him Signing he go. He's gonna put it in the end zone. That's what's going to happen. And and then have to sit down down with that 10 minutes because he don't play. He has a lot of confidence. He saves the football player. But why? What you mean that were about him getting hurt? So now together special package for an adult night shot past. Well, I'm not sure person fulfills. He has a better harm, and he's quicker and what the coaches it coach just said about dogs. And I mean, I don't believe it's the coach's daughter was good. No right now. I think it feels I think a fields package will will be a package where you are using a quarterback out on the edge of the guy that can do things differently. Then Andy Dalton. When you talk about a fields package, that's what you know that's what everyone's like Red Zone is any really good in the Reds hours because he's a dual threat, Terry intently you're on ESPN 1000. What's up, Terry? Hey, Tom. It's good to talk to you guys. Very good, Tommy. I agree with you completely and, uh, with the established the run, but your afternoon guys kind of left me when I said don't play fields. You know, I want to play field, but I want to see like you say they have run get established. But also I want to see the the offensive Linus that was going to let them get a rhythm to get hold. And then if you want to do fields put fields in when you get elite, Not when you're behind like they did that One game, 31 points down. Let's let this kid come in with a lead sort of not the defenses of paying off out. Well, I don't think you're look, if they're they have a lead. They're not going to burn. Then I'm gonna take a quarterback changed again. We've said this 1000 times over the last several weeks. The optimal situation. The situation that makes most sense is as you play him when he's ready. The reality of the situation is he will be he will be inserted in the lineup when the team starts losing regularly, and the offense isn't doing anything and Andy Dalton isn't able to give them a spark. That may happen in week two, and they happen in week three. It may happen for them to make the change in week four. I'm not expecting Status quo to remain in place for an extended period of time. Like we've talked a lot about when he may they may stick with Andy Dalton for nine weeks. I find it really unlikely. Would never rule anything out with this crew, but I find it highly unlike first of all, I don't think that they're going to be six and three or 72 or five and four. For that matter. There's going to be a game when like when Foles came in that they're going to need a rally. And he may get that opportunity when they are down like the car doesn't want to see, but that's when usually things aren't going well. The offenses stagnant Can the kids sort of Bring everything together. And if he does, can he stay in the game? Now? I do agree with the assessment or the You know the statement that this offensive line I get it. They're never going to be an upper echelon offensive line. There's a really good chance they'll be better in week three barring injury than they are right now. Jason Peters has not played football for better than a year German of Fatty missed 90% of training camp. He got hurt in the in the conditioning test. It's not. It's not promise. It's not promising. But my point is, is that they will get better when they are in better football shape. Now there is a ceiling to how good that line can be. But you can't tell me that they won't be better in week three against the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland, and they are in week one against the Los Angeles Rams in Los Angeles. It just makes sense. Yeah. Scott and Woodridge, you're on ESPN 1008 Scotty. Hey, guys, I did say. Yeah, Exactly. I do know that page locked into, uh Having Justin Fields. I'm an Ohio boy Buckeyes fan, um, transplant here to Chicago. But he has gambled so many times on. He blinks during the draft..

"Story from Dustin. So I'm Dustin P one, I work at the 5 buds in prince Albert Saskatchewan. I got into cannabis when the store opened back in January. It's kind of a new thing for me, but it's something I'm learning every day is just kind of why I got into it, right? New experiences and kind of stuff I really like to enjoy doing so. How long have you been working at 5 buds? Since we opened in January. Also, just a few months now. And what did you do before you were a candidate? It was a stable dad, actually. That stayed at home. I took care of 5 kids altogether a couple step kids, a couple of my own. So yeah, cool. And then Kirk traveled on to slave Lake where he spoke with Jason Peters, who shared his my cannabis story. I'm Jared Peters. I run a cannabis show up here in slave Lake. I guess for my story, let's just start how I begin smoking cannabis, right? So it was before legalization, my auntie was an advocate in BC. She got me into it and it just started with helping me mentally. I had a lot of depression. I had a lot of anxiety and stuff like that. I was never really thought I was going to get to the position of that all in cannabis industry. A lot of what she said resonated with me because it was more about just getting high. It was helping day by day doing stuff just around the house, even just having a happy attitude going places. I used to have a really hard time going to west 17 mall, stuff like that with lots of people. But I find now if I have something CBD even before I go in, I'm just in a lot better mindset walking into these places. Throughout the years, after I lost my aunt, these when I actually came into the cannabis industry, because I wanted to just continue on that path where she wanted to go. She wanted to see his legalized she unfortunately passed away the month like two months before legalization. So is that unfortunate in that? But I figure if I can keep going the way she wanted to go and just having everybody happy and talking. Kind of be a good way to help her memory. That's why I wear this instead of a lanyard. This is actually hers before she passed away. So that's just darkening. So there are some road stories from Kirk as he travels around Alberta and of course Trevor and Kirk are going to be at hem fest in Calgary, collecting a lot more stories, so keep listening to reefer medicines, the podcast, like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram, do all those things. "And raced towards the playoffs. While the Cubs continue to fall in record breaking fashion and at Soldier Field On Saturday, Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields put some of his star potential on display while his predecessor, Mr Bisky, started for the opposing team. It was a busy sports weekend here with those stories and more is W B e Z Sports contributor. Cheryl Raye Stout. Cheryl Welcome back. Thank you, Susie. How are you? I'm doing well, well, let's start with the bears. The Bears. Um last home preseason game has created more questions than answers. What are some of the issues after the 41 15 loss to Buffalo? Let's let's start with the offense. Well, one of the few positives it doesn't count. No, there's only one preseason game left, and that's in Tennessee on Saturday, But here's one of the big questions, Susie Do you have to start Andy Dalton. This we can get more reps in the final game to establish his rhythm gets something he talked about that he needed to get done. Or do you let the rookie quarterback Justin Fields get time with the starters in a game situation now, Nagy said he's still going to go with Dalton to start the season against the ramp of September 12, and here's a couple of things. There were a few players not on the field. With Dalton and Shields to get some extended time with one of those is David Montgomery. Another one is Ellen Robinson. And the offensive wine didn't have Jason Peters, who just signed and German and Freddie, but the news is I'm at practice today and all those players are on the field, so maybe they'll have a better situation on Saturday. Yeah, well, I want to turn to a former Bears teammate, the Bears defense was torched by their former teammate, Mitchell Robiskie. He is the Buffalo Bills back up and Had an excellent game at Soldier Field. What happened? Well, this is one area. It was really, really tough to watch. Robiskie was great. He was able to score at six or seven possessions. The problem with the Bears was the poor tackling. They had no pass rush, and what was really interesting to watch is that Buffalo had authors 32nd stringers and third stringers out there and they did a good game plan for Mitchell. So he had a good situation. Now again, There's more starters that did not play Andy, Uh, Danny Trevathan and grow rock Juan Smith. They weren't out there, but they were on the field today, and we just talked to Shawn Gibson. He's starting safety for the Bears, and he told us that they're not panicking right now, Even though it looked bad on Saturday, he thinks they could still have everything put together by the starting game. Okay. Good to have that optimism. Um, well, you know, it's usually painful when a player like Stravinsky who has who is expected to do big things in Chicago, and then leaves, Um how did that go? Went, Robiskie saw his old teammates again. Susie. It was interesting to see the Bears. Players and staff warmly greet Mitchell in the pregame and again afterwards and he talked about in this post game presser. Yeah, it was cool. It was fine. It was good to see those guys out there and I'll be ruined for him this season and wish him well and just that everyone stays healthy, but it kind of felt like practice back in the day, just going against those guys talking little smack and just having fun, find playing football, But, um, just very grateful to be a part of this team and how everybody had my back today and we just went out there and execute and went down the field and, um it made plays and got in the end zone. So that's that's all you can ask for is and just leave the guys down and score points. Very cordial. Uh, well, Cheryl, How did the fans reacted? Robiskie? You know, that was a big question going into the game. What were they going to do? There was applause and just a very small smattering a boost. So the that was negative. We all thought it would be. But it wasn't that was nice to see because he didn't deserve anything negative. Thrown at him. And Cheryl, You know, we talked a little bit about Dalton and fields up the top. Um, but it's got to be a little awkward, um, for the current starting QB Andy Dalton. He's the starter, but he knows the fans are mostly there to see rookie quarterback Justin Fields. What does he say about the competition and the fans reactions? You know what was interesting was just feels himself was very disturbed by the booing of his teammate, and he actually said it was disrespectful. But when you look at what Andy Dalton had to say, he's a veteran. He knows the situation and he knows if this is something that's going to happen, and he addressed it with the media. It's part of it. They want to, uh you know, they want to see a good product out there. I didn't hear any booze after the touchdown pass that through. Um So, uh, you know, hopefully there'll be will be cheering. What Well, I like how he handled that then. Are there any other concerns for Matt Nagy as they finish training camp this week? No. One big area that was really glaring and really poorer. Is there special team coverage? It's been pathetic for two games. And that's a real concern. Because you know what happens at this point. You have players that would be cut tomorrow and players to be cut next week to get down to 53. The players are not starters. Your second unit, you're 30 unit. Players have to be able to play on special teams and what I think is going to happen. If these guys that they have right now don't make the cut. They'll be picking up really release players to try to fix it, because that's a real concern at this point. This is reset. We're talking with W B E Z Sports contributor shall race down and we're catching up on the big sports stories of the weekend, and I want to turn to baseball now, um As we mentioned at the top. It's been losing and more losing for the Cubs. Um, you know, tell us more about it, Cheryl. Well, they are 18 games under 500. They are seeking fast, You know, it's been tough to see. This team is down only three players from the championship year will secretaries who is now injured Jason Heyward to his head offensive real offensive. Output is horrible. And the one bright spot is Kyle. What do you realize that he's the winningest pitcher in Major league baseball right now, with 14 wins? You wouldn't know that because the way this team is playing and yesterday after losing 9 to 1, I ask starting and losing picture Alec Mills. If the players are talking about this predicament that they are in right now. Yeah, I wouldn't say we've had too many conversations as far as you know what's going on. Obviously, like I said, we just want to win. Um, you know, it's obviously not a fun clubhouse after games right now, you know, we're doing everything we can. You know, we plan on, uh, really doing some things to help us out in the future..

Of course, you've got Andy in the studio as well for sports, but I I watched that game, Kevin and you were actually there on the sideline. I was up in the press box. I was catching the Justin Field show. Oh, my gosh. Okay, you know, and he gave me the look the same Look, I get from my husband as I'm so excited Fans love Justin Fields and you know, as I'm being told, needs more work, But you know for me, I'm like, just put them in. We all love him. Let let him go. Yeah, I'll say this about just it feels like I'm not going to overreact to what he's done against 2nd and 3rd stringers. For the most part, he looks really good. He looked apart. He looked everything you want in a quarterback that you take in the first round. Still kind of crazy to me to think that he felt to them. In the first round. Three quarterbacks were taken before, but, um, look to me the question when it comes to who should start a quarterback? I think it's a larger Picture of the Bears in. How does Matt Nagy? How does Ryan pays the view this team? Do they really think they're a contender for the division? Do they think they can make the playoffs? Like how deep do they think they can go? How do they honestly feel about this roster? If they think they are a team that can compete, and they're not that far off from 2018 roster, which, for the most part most the major players are still there despite besides Kyle Fuller, Couple other guys, too. But like, how good do they think they are? And that takes you're gonna be our sports. Quick question today is who gives them the best chance to win week. One. Is it Andy Dalton or Justin Field? I read. I read. Yeah, Go ahead. Go ahead. I'm sorry to interrupt. No, I'm sorry. I'm just saying like it does come down to like, Okay. How cautious. Are you with Justin Fields. How worried. Are you about that offensive line? Um, is it bad optics to not start Andy Dalton after you told him he was the starting quarterback when he gave him that $10 million contract. Does that even matter? I think there's a lot that goes into it. But I mean, yeah. Justin Fields looks really good guys. Okay, you two are the experts so we've got Kevin Powell and we've got and here as well. Who do you start? If you're Nagy, who do you start? Andy? Who do you start? You know, Have we been here before? Every every year? Pretty much specifically saying Mike Glennon, Midst Robiskie reminds me so much of that. Situation where you pay a quarterback who's Yeah, so so a lot of money and you've got a young guy that's trying to break through and they played linen for about four weeks when he was sign, you know to me. It's Justin Fields. This is the guy that's going to save jobs He's going to. He's it. Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, They have their jobs on his back, right. And what about you, Kevin? Who did they start? What do you think? I think there are certain an adult in week one. I think they've spelled that out. Um, I think the leash on Dalton's becoming shorter and shorter. Um Because fields does look like the real deal and the way he carries himself by any spot on with that comparison. Um, but I think when you do I mean, just listening to Justin Fields talk and just the way you carry themselves and what people are saying about everything. He checks all the boxes and I'm not selling him as already this. You know this franchise quarterback and he's You know he's the guy, but because we still haven't won seen him with against starters. We haven't seen him in regular season action, you know, And then there's a question that you know a lot of people keep bringing up. Do you want to put Justin Fields behind this offensive line? Which is not that it's clearly the weakest. A component of this Bears team is the offensive lineman left tackles an issue. You know, they rolled the dice on Kevin Jenkins to the second round pick and he did it back surgery last week, so they decided to sign. The guy was 39 years old and Jason Peters and we'll see what he can do. But you know, there's a lot of questions at the at the offensive line position, so it's like, okay, do they really think they're good enough to make a run for the playoffs to win the division? All those sorts of things? If that's the case, if they really believe that they have that sort of roster to do that. That Justin Fields of the guy because even if even if you are putting him behind the offensive line, that is not very good. I mean, we've seen glimpses of it again. Preseason play against 2nd 3rd stringers. Justin Fields has 44 40 speed. I mean, this guy can run, he can scramble his great pocket presence. We saw that on display at Soldier Field on Saturday. We have the first two preseason games. So even if they often blind bad, I think he probably gives you a better shot that Andy Dalton, who doesn't have those capabilities that Justin Field has, which is to Since the pressure Get out of the pocket, make plays with his legs. So, um, I think Andy Dalton will start week one. And like the Andes Point, you know who knows? Maybe weeks, three weeks, four weeks five. As I think it's overall body worker like well, they're going to see what sort of team they have. And then I think they'll go from their fields is obviously the fan favorite, and obviously he's fast, he said. This, he said, I've been one of the fastest guys on the field. I've had a lot of experience doing that. So when I do escape the pocket, I keep my eyes downfield. I'm trying to throw the ball downfield first. But if a block breaks, I try to make a positive play every time and people were kind of comparing him to Michael Vick, just based on speed. I thought that was kind of odd, but is Is there any validity to that? Er Yeah, I don't know if anybody's going to be Michael Vick status, But you know, Justin Fields says he's has already said, you know, kind of models his game after Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks and you see a lot of that, because Russell Wilson probably isn't as fast as Justin Fields, but He has great pocket presence, and he knows when to bail out and he knows when to make plays with his legs. And I do see that in Justin Fields. Um, see, I don't know if I go to the club. You know the thing about Justin Fields to is he this type of quarterback who has that 44 speed is one of the You know, one of the fastest quarterbacks in the league, but he doesn't necessarily rely on it, which I think is a good thing..

And charles leno's done that like ninety three times in a row so you know just because the guy isn't jason peters doesn't mean that he can't line up and play every week so i'm a little worried about that. However you see allen robinson there you've got a good running game with david. Montgomery they signed gaming williams. You have tweet. Cohen coming back from injury. I liked darnell mooney. I like coal combat. They they do have a little bit of their little thin. Those skill position players but allen robinson is a really nice player for justin feels to have their as a rookie. And i would take guests that just because of his talent level. Justin fields is going to play sooner rather than later. And because i think he's going to play sooner rather than later. I have him ranked higher than trae lance on my twenty twenty one bore. I have him at quarterback. Twenty two right now Again if a matt nagy a ryan pace andy dalton you know we took a look at them in training camp. And we're gonna make the move Justin fields outplayed them. He's going to start week one then. He's up into the teens. But right now. He's my quarterback twenty two. "A very high stakes game of chicken. Is the simplest Packers have to come to the realization he's not coming back and then therefore go get their best deal. Um, sort of. I think they already realized that, though, because this is the situation, despite not having been in the media, up until about a few days ago, has been going on for months. I can tell you that the Rams made an offer and try to try to go get him. There's some back channel conversations they had with him prior to trading for Matt Stafford on the Green Bay rebuffed it at that time Niners did to the Niners did the day before the traffic. The Rams did it before the Stafford deal, and so they've been trying to. They've been trying to get him and bring him in. For a while. The Packers have been flying out there trying to talk to him all this kind of stuff. I think as long as Brian good against is there, there's no way or Rogers comes back. This is just good against or is it Mark Murphy as well? I think that he's Personal animus is with Brian Good against. I think that would Mark Murphy could be patched up. And he had Murphy have had conversations between February and now, But I think that there's Animosity with more than one party, but the split or the hard sell is with good goods. What about John James and the Broncos? What do they do there? That's a tough situation, especially after he kind of he was working out at the Broncos facility. And then when the Players association decided to do this arbitrary, ot a boycott thing, Hey, went along with the team, even though he disagreed with it went home and started working out. And when you're working from off site, you're not covered under team insurance. So he wiped out five million and injury protections and 10 million in salary and he ended up really hurting himself on that one. The Broncos. I mean, I talked a couple Bronco sources. They're very, you know, empathetic. But right now that situation is one where he sees he and the players have really kind of set themselves up for failure in the players Union massively overplay their hand. Not all the players were on board with not doing these OTA is I can tell you that right? It was not Wasn't he wanting to do the O T. A S was that he's not the only guys like Alexander Johnson. These guys were showing up there, guys, they're showing up. They just agreed not to talk about it to kind of keep the unified the perception of a unified front. But there I could tell you that locker room was upset about it. And there were guys in that locker room and said We were five win football team, the optics of not showing up for opiates While we're trying to make a power grab on something we didn't collectively bargain. Eyes is bad and JC trader and some of these guys have massively overplay their hand on this, and they're gonna get a lot of pushback this week because of John James was gonna get this could get really sticky with the union. It could get really sticking with you. So if you had to make a prediction will the Broncos Say sorry. You know, we feel bad, but we need this money to get another right tackle. If I'm predicting something, I suggest that they probably what the Eagles did with Jason Peters a few years ago, which has reached a settlement half um yeah, reach reach a settlement. You carry him on the roster and its equitable for everybody. You get cap savings. He gets some of his money. Nobody's the bad guy in it. You know, when you go forward from there, it's not one report that said it's a season indeed. Injurious another report this So what? Maybe there's a chance. He can come back. Is it a Tauron? Achilles? Yes and partially corn's not fully tourney, And there is some optimism that he could be back for the final month of the season. Give or take talked with my Garofalo, who put that out The second report. Talk with him yesterday, and it seems like that's the hope. But that's more of a hope that a medical diagnosis I'll just say based on The fax that we have That would seem highly unlikely to make and it's Z is more hope and wishful thinking that I think it is anything else. So with the Broncos have any interest in a Gallic Mitchell Schwartz or Charles Leno or what do they do it right tackle. Those are two names that are out there. I don't think Leno's gonna be one of them talked to somebody yesterday they hadn't reached out to him yet with Mitchell Schwartz. I talked to his brother Jeff yesterday for quite a bit, and Mitch is still rehabbing. He's not ready to play. So even if they reach out to that, that's kind of a giant question. Mark still has some back issues, some other names that are out there right now that I would suggest Rick Wagoner, Audie Massey. The more Dotson could be brought back, although I think that's kind of an emergency option and then Cam Fleming and Dennis Kelly would be other. They're going to bring some guys in this week and kind of take a look and see where they're at and go from there. So Mitchell Schwartz. He had a back issue that he's still rehabbing. Yeah, he's still rehabbing that back issue last year's Iranian play in the Super Bowl, and he's contemplating retirement. And the rest of these guys. Anybody stand out to you other than him. Cam plaints. Dawson's old. I mean, he did a fairly good job last year. Yeah, but he's old. Yeah, Dotson's a fun guy.
