"News time 6 35. This is a KOMO afternoon news rewind. Sony wants to put a stop to the messy drama surrounding its crown jewel game show. So it's now firing the man at the core of the controversy. ABC is Jason Nathan's and joining us on the Cuomo Newsline. You saw this coming a mile away, Jason? Yeah, I mean, it was really one of the only option. The biggest surprise is just how long it took because, after Mike Richards stepped down as host of jeopardy after being named host nineties, previous many people thought that well, if he can't be host, then you can't really be the executive producer of the show. It wouldn't make sense that people would have confidence that the people who had to work under him would feel like they wanted to take directions from a man who had You know, just been host but had to step aside because of remarks that he had made over the past 10 years. It didn't really seem to make sense. But Sony had signaled that they were going to keep him and even in the memo that came out today, it seemed like they thought this was going to blow over. I mean, they literally said that, they said in this memo to employees today, which came from Sony executive. We had hoped that when Mike Step down from the host position at jeopardy, it would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties. We have all experienced these last few weeks that clearly has not happened. They do not even think that him. Stepping aside, his jeopardy host was enough to let him go. But now they realized, yeah, we just have to put an end to all of this, And he's not out of just that job. He was also executive producer of Wheel of Fortune as well. The two of them are tandem shows and they run in syndication in tandem on most stations. They're both made by Sony. So he's been in this position about actually almost exactly two years. It's not like he's been the longtime producer of both of those shows, but he has been there for a couple of years now, and it's almost like they gave the public a say. Because they put all these people in front of us for us to vote on as we watch them fill in his guesthouse after Alex Trebek died, too, Yes, but that was one of the biggest grumblings about this is that they did put all these people in front of us and we we felt that we had to say, And then they went with Mike Richards, who is executive producer of the program. That's why I think a lot of people felt cheated out of this process as well. So hopefully they've learned from that and now going forward with the Relaunch of the guest host think they take that into account? But I have a feeling that they probably know who they want anyway. And we'll just see kind of a little bit more of a dog and pony show with this next round of guesthouse. Well, what do you think is happening now, with my Amby Olic? So many articles coming out about her even Mother Jones getting in on it, saying she'd be a terrible choice for jeopardy Host and she's coming out and saying I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but she has had some posts that were sort of anti science and she's kind of explain. In those and answered for those, and I don't see this as as big a problem as the Mike Richards stuff because she is a has a doctorate in science and B has been willing to explain things and she is vaccinated, and she has said the vaccines work, so I don't know if this is going to come back to haunt ER. But also Sony and Mike Richards didn't think all that stuff was going to come back to haunt him. So you know the word was that she They wanted her for the full time job, actually, but scheduling wise it wasn't going to work for her. I don't No If she has a change of heart now or if it's all kind of tainted, let's just really start this from scratch. What are the chances? Aaron Rodgers could get it? I think the chances are for anybody now. I think it's an equal playing field. I think LeVar Burton has a chance. I think Joe Buck has a chance. I think Aaron Rodgers has a chance. And there might be people that we don't even know of her. Haven't seen yet. I think it all resets to zero. Now. Now that they've realized, okay, we kind of bungled this at the beginning. Let's let's restart this and and started fresh but again. Think they might have in their heads some people that they like some people, they think they're front runners. And I think my Amby Olic is near the top of that list. ABC is Jason Nathan Seuin. Thanks Jason The KOMO Afternoon News on Co Mo News. Come on news time 6 39. "That's Charlie Watt Tremor for the Rolling Stones passed away today. 80 years old. Wow. It's going through that I couldn't. I mean, I could have played 100 songs. Joining us right now from ABC News is Jason Nathan Seuin. Um, you know, it's funny, uh, you think about great drummers. And you know, you always think of these long solos, and I remember that you know, there's a band called in a guarded Evita. That had a song called and Got? No. They were called Iron Butterfly. Remember them? Okay, they had was going to say no. The song's name is in it and it got a bit and they had like a drum solo for, like, six minutes. And you know how high did you have to be to listen to a six minute drum? So, But I guess the point is, is that the really good drummers were the ones that you know that kept the beat and we're creative within their moments and not really fast, but And you know this was to me like they're like the people that are invisible until you pull them out and you go. Oh, they're really integral to the song. Well, it's really funny because there's always such a comparison between the Beatles and the Stones, Right And you're either or one or the other. But when it comes to the drummers of both, it's the same thing Ringo Starr for ever didn't get The credit that he was due and you talk to any drummer now, and they go well bring us stars one of the greats, and I think it's same with Charlie wants because he, especially in a band like it's. It's just such the same thing. You have Lennon and McCartney on one side, and you have Richards and Jagger on the other. And when you have bands like that that have such charismatic People you tend to overshadow some of the other people. And Charlie Watts is one of those guys. But you know, there was a quote from Keith Richards in 1975 1979. That everything everybody thinks Mick and Keith of the Rolling Stones. If Charlie wasn't doing what he's doing on drums, that wouldn't be true at all. You'd find out that Charlie Watts is the stones. Wow. Well, I mean, it is to me, and I wasn't rolling Stones fan and even like, you know, if you go back and look at the ballots, like, you know, wild horses or Angie, you know, or you can't always get what you want. I mean, you know it was And forget about the longevity. I mean, they're playing 50 years after the Beatles quit 51 years. Forget about that for a second and just look at, you know the quality and that's in the different styles that they played with, You know, they managed somehow to make a disco song during disco that didn't sound like a disco song. And that's that's one of the things that that watch himself said that he was trying to make every song a dance song. That was, that's what his kind of goal was. This was from a Video on the Stones website. My.

Um, some White House officials have been briefing Congress on what's going on specifically in Afghanistan, and I'm curious, I I assume that the reason we haven't seen the president speak yet. He was scheduled to speak 90 minutes ago. The reason is they want to make sure that they briefed Congress before the president comes out and briefs the rest of us. So we are standing by again waiting for the president to come out and explain what will be going on. When it comes to this August 31st deadline. The report today was that he decided that there would not be an extension. Mm. Of the deadline that we would have everybody out by August, 31st and by everybody wink wink. "Uh, 20 lines that cracks in the weeds Come through the minutes or I hate it. Yeah, The funky lines are crack control joints, their scores in the surface of the concrete because your new concrete driveway Or sidewalk or what have you is going to shift its going to settle and a lot of tension builds up in the concrete concrete is very strong, but it's very brittle and so when the tension builds up In the concrete, Just like tension across the cracker, you know, she you know you've had a sheet of like Graham crab mean saltine crackers where they're all still together and you put tension on that very brittle sheet. Hopefully, hopefully the goal is that that tension is relieved by that scoreline, and the crack appears down inside that line. Instead of out on the surface of the concrete where everybody sees it. I mean, you're awesome. This is why we love having you on so that when we look at our house and we get frustrated by these little things that annoy us. You can explain why they are necessary. "New movies out this weekend. A B C's Jason Nathan Seuin joining us with the details, and Jason let's begin with our star who grew up right here in Lake Stevens, Washington, Chris Pratt. Everybody loves Chris Pratt. He's fantastic. I'll watch him in just about anything. And this is a sci fi big action thriller. He's fighting aliens, which we've seen him do in guardians of the galaxy. The Avengers movies, those kinds of things, so this is something kind of and dinosaurs too. It's going to do that as well. So this is kind of familiar ground for him. He stars as a guy he plays a science teacher hasn't quite fulfilled his potential. And then all of a sudden out of nowhere. These soldiers come from 30 years in the future. They figure out how to travel back in time, and they come from the Future because they're fighting a war in the future, and they're losing all of humanity is losing to these aliens, so they need people to go into the future to fight the war because they just don't they don't bodies. They need people to go fight and Chris Pratt is one of them. It has time tribal it as science fiction. It has big action scenes. I really like this movie a lot more than I thought I would. And I think one of the reasons is the fact that it is an actual real movie. It's not just some leftover that's going to Amazon Prime video for streaming. This was a huge movie made for Paramount. That Amazon prime video reportedly spent $200 million to buy from them. So so you could watch it for free this weekend, and Steve Soderbergh got the A listers together for a new film. A lot of big names in no sudden move, which is also streaming that's on HBO. Max this stars Don Cheeto, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm Here in Kalkan, Brendan Fraser and many, many more in a crime drama heist, You know, stylish thriller, the kind of thing that Steven Soderbergh does. Well, I liked it. I'm not going to say I loved it. I think I wanted to like it be given the pedigree of it a lot more. The acting is good. The directing is good. The story just didn't quite grab me. It's a 1954 in Detroit. It's a heist involving the automobile industry. It's interesting, but it doesn't quite get there for me. Zola at the theaters, critics loving this one. Yeah, this is a fascinating film, and I was very excited to see it because it was getting a lot of buzz. It's based on a 2015 viral Twitter through Read. Yes, The movie is made up of a bunch of tweets. It is based on a bunch of tweets of the story that this woman told at the time about how she and a woman she had just met. The two of them went on a stripper adventure to Florida for the weekend, and things got crazy, And that's what this movie is about. It's about that adventure. It stars Taylor Page, who is a newcomer. She's great. Riley Keough plays the woman who kind of seduces are into this trip. She is fantastic in it. Colman Domingo. He's also in it and very, very good. Janie CSA Bravo. She directed it, and she did a fantastic job here. You know, it's not for the kids or anything for this weekend. This is an R rated movie, but I think it's very good for the adults in very, very interesting. But for the kids, you've got Boss Baby family business. That's an animated film out this weekend, and the Netflix has America that's animated. But what's that about? It's Definitely not for kids. I want to make sure of 100% America. The motion picture. It's a film from Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who did the Lego movies. And this is basically if South Park in Hamilton at a very raunchy R rated baby. It is a retelling of the founding fathers in a very historically inaccurate way that is also very, very dirty. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are running around together, chopping people's heads off and saying all kinds of foul language. So you have the voices of Channing Tatum in there you have. Judy Greer, Olivia Mon Andy Samberg will forte and a bunch of others.

Benicio Del Toro Steven Soderbergh Judy Greer Steve Soderbergh Chris Miller George Washington Abraham Lincoln David Harbour Riley Keough Brendan Fraser Ray Liotta Phil Lord Taylor Page Don Cheeto Jon Hamm Channing Tatum Florida Olivia Mon 2015 Chris Pratt

"What do we got? Lots of streaming stuff this weekend. One of the biggest is Luca, which is a Pixar movie. I know that one. She lives on the second floor. Right? Right. She lives upstairs. Right upstairs. Have you seen her before? Uh, no, I haven't. Yeah, we're gonna Suzanne Suzanne Vega moment here, right? Never happened to her. She she one hit wonder there's no question about it. Did she have other stuff? Well, I mean, Luca, it's not the most uplifting song If your child abuse, you know, No, It's not horrible, Terrible song. It's to put that out. That that was one of the songs in my childhood. I know was, I don't know. Jeez, anyway, uh, this is not about that. This is not the Pixar version of that song. Although that would be a fascinating movie to see this is about and it's still crazy to me the fact that Pixar movies used to be a big deal, right? We used to go to the theater they'd open the 50 60 $70 million Pixar movie was coming for the summer. That was a big thing, And now this is on Disney. Plus, it's streaming and you can watch it for the price of your subscription. You don't have to pay extra No $30 surcharge or anything for a Pixar movie. Nice and it's. It's the stories about two young boys who also happened to be young sea monsters. Are they boys or sea monsters? They are They are boys and sea monsters When they're in the water, you see monsters. Okay now on land there, boys, So they're mur boys, Exactly Farmer boys. Monsters, and it's set in coastal Italy. So it's a nice vacation. You get to go for a couple hours, see if Pixar film and travel to the Italian seaside and in the rank of Pixar films. I love Pixar films. I think they're great. The A couple, the most recent ones that I that are probably among my favorite, Our soul, which came out at the end of last year. It was good inside out, which I thought was fantastic. Those are big kind of they tackle big, existential questions. Luke is a little more straightforward in the terms of animated movie. And it has the heart and the humor and everything that a Pixar movie usually has It. Just it took me a little while to to make an emotional connection with it. It's good. I'm not going to say it's among the best Pixar movies, but that bar is really high, So I think it's a good film. Yeah, well, plus the end where Luca gets whacked by the mob. That's not, you know, I mean, Not very picks Irish. He sleeps with the fishes. He does sleep with the fishes on the second floor. Jason Nathan's in is here. ABC Entertainment in in in the would not Norwood, Hollywood, just in cash it in the wood in the wood. The war in the wood. Um, he's got the black the nickname for what? I'm trying to make it catch. I'm trying to trying to reinvent things here. All right, so Pixar's Luca is out to what else? On Netflix. There is this is another father's Day kind of movie for the Father's Day weekend because his father is in the name, see how they did that girl. Fatherhood. We're going to put out fatherhood on Father's Day. Netflix Mart? Yes, this stars Kevin Hart, and you would so you would think it's a comedy, but it is not. It is a drama. It's about a couple and this is based on a real life story. A memoir written by a guy named Matthew Mess up his last name. I think it's local in, but I'm not sure And this is based on his story and his wife. They're having their first child. They're very excited. They can't wait. Then she dies right after childbirth. And he is left to raise his daughter on his own. And he is not prepared to. Oh, man, so And you know, you could also think that, you know, being Kevin Hart movie. They could really lean into the comedy of this. This dad who's the Eric to raise a kid kid in the toddler wearing the same size shirt? Absolutely. This is a drama. Uh huh. That's funny, And it's a short joke at is because he's like a five t. Yeah, I I don't appreciate the short. Yeah. Uh, he is Kevin Hart. We've seen him do dramatic stuff before we know he can do it, and he does it. He does it well here to the point where the comedy and little Royal Howry also he's a co star. And he's a lot of the comedic relief Kevin Harts funny, too in it as well. But the comedy feels almost out of place because the movie is so serious, really. How's Kevin Hart doing that? Because it's like You know you have great comics that do well, trying to a drum dramatic roles. Some succeed. Some don't look, Look, we're going to do great history of that. With Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Bill Murray. They've all been able to do that, and we've seen Kevin Hart do before He's good, and he's good in this. I like this movie a lot. Lot more than I thought I would get a Kleenex box and put it next to you because you're gonna need it. And, uh, you know, have you have yourself a good father's day? That's good. He did a good father State. Christ. What I need, um All right. I saw this trailer. I don't know if you're prepared to talk about this or not, but it's it's Kevin can f himself and it's um Annie Murphy, who was in Chits Creek is in it, and I don't know what to make of it. Annie Murphy, who is now in just She just goes around looking for shows that I can't say the title. Yeah, exactly when I first I think I thought as well, the the F word and yeah, yeah, I don't I don't know what that's our specific, but it looks like it's a comedy, but it's not. It's okay. So let me explain the president. The premise of this and I've seen the first four or five minutes, AMC, right? It's on AMC Sunday. It's also I think streaming now AMC has its own streaming service, by the way, which I don't think anybody knows. Um and so you can. You can watch the first episode I think on there now, But, um, it's this show where Annie Murphy. She was Alexis. Yes. Yeah. Can I can I say this show or no? S creek. Do I say s Creek or conversations? Creek? I mean, s C h I T T s some stations. I can't say it. I don't know. I don't know. I can't keep track of all right. Well, if I said, and you're offended, I apologize, but it's like one of the biggest shows last year, So she was Alexis on Shits Creek. She wanted Emmy this past time for it. She was. I loved her character. By the end, Her character was my favorite character on the show. She was so good. And so this is her first show after that, and It starts as a sitcom, a traditional sitcom, where, with a laugh track, you're in a kitchen. You have the wife Who's Annie Murphy was too hot for her doofus, dumpy husband, who only who was very selfish and only thinks about himself. The title itself. Kevin can believe himself. Is based on the show the title Kevin can wait, which you may remember from. Yeah. Was it Kevin James show and the controversy over that show was they just killed off the wife with no and with no explanation, right? And she was smoking hot. And Kevin James is Kevin James. Dumpy guy, right? And there's this. This is a trope in sitcoms, right where you have this? I love it dufus husband and the hot life. So this show seeks to examine that. So where it starts off. You got the laugh track. You got this scenario. You're in the kitchen, she steps out of the kitchen boom. The shows a drama now. Wow. Completely changes to an effort. Another show just based on going to a different room. Yes, that doesn't go back to a comedy then and then it goes back to a comment. Whoa! And then it goes back to a drama that's trip following her. So when you're in the sitcom, you see, Okay, this woman is its tortured, you know, And then when she goes out when they go into the drama world You actually see cool what she's thinking and what she's feeling that that's going to be good. You think it's gonna be really good. I love the premise of this. I loved. I love Eddie Murphy. Um, the show. I wanted it to be like the next Emmy winning big. Yeah, Yeah, It's not quite there, okay? It might might be out there. Yeah, because it's like It's like any show. If you watch the beginning, any like big. It's like they're they're They're you know, even I think Shits Creek started kind of little bit. It was good, but it was like it really started his. You start hitting the stride after a season or two. So good. I'm 100%. I'm going to stick with the show. "Than Europe. And our cheese is getting better. We used to be kind of, uh, laughing stock when it came to cheese in the world, But American cheese is getting fantastic. You mean American cheese is because American cheese is a, um, just a bastardization of weird plastic products. Yes, America man, I've actually made American cheese. And it's It's difficult, But, yes, there are some things in it like powdered milk and things like that. That get that yummy. You just text your that we all pretend to hate, but I like an American cheese grilled cheese, and I'm not afraid to say it, but only that only in a grill No. Well on a burger. Yeah, Burger is great. I put it on a burger. I don't hate on the American cheese. Could I tell you a weird cheese fact, By the way, Yes, you can get a £72 like we all talk about Costco and the Kirkland brand. You can get a £72 Kirkland signature hole wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. And it's like a grand. It's like almost $1000. How long does that keep for? Ever? Okay, I I mean in my house, 30 40 minutes, But it's like, Yeah. Give me no spaghetti. Um, I but in that, like, I guess you could parse it with buddies. But Parmesan Reggiano mean this is a a dense aged cheese that can last for a long time and freezes really, really well. So we talked earlier last hour, which Jason Nathan Seuin about the Avengers campus, which at California Adventure opens to the public today or opened to the public today. And once you know, Disney started really paying attention to their food. They have just been absolutely crushing it. Um, and they have some new stuff coming up with the adventures campus. You know what you will never fuck. Find a more excited group of chefs. Then at the Disneyland resorts. I mean, I've had the pleasure of becoming friends with many of them. They'll stop me when I'm there to say, Hey, Have you tried this yet? They are so giddy about what they're doing. It shows in everything. I agree with you, Gary. The food is outstanding. When they opened in the fifties, it was an afterthought. It's like we got to have something. Let's do the standards, you know, hot dogs and popcorn. Those types of things. And now it's a destination for great food not only along the the the downtown Disney, but in the parks as well. So the new Stuff that's coming out. I was watching a lot of the videos that came out as the grand opening and all the ceremonial stuff. But, man, when you get into, uh, the PIMS test kitchen That's going to be a big thing now. PIMS. Particle is a big part of ant man and the wasp storyline shrinks and also can enlarge food. So you get what chin was talking about. It's not a burger. It's a It's a panini or a Pim Nini. And its massive You can get a wedge of it for you know an individual or you can get a slab that will feed eight and that's almost $100 slab. Yeah, Great way to mass, right food. Yeah, it's just It's just this massive chunk of food. Um, but there's a lot of fun flavors coming out, including the The storyline is like, Hey, the kids have gone wild in the test kitchen. So there's a lot of PB and J stuff PB and J Punch. There's some desserts. And before that, there was, um In Disneyland proper. A lot of people don't know this, but if you go to the Carnation Cafe, you can actually get a peanut butter and jelly soda. Which will blow your mind It is It's a soda, but when you drink it, it tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I'm not sure it's I thought the same thing. It's It's pretty fantastic, but you have. It's a novelty. It's not. You know, you're not gonna be throwing it back. Do it every time. You're not getting a super big gulp 42 ounces, but it really strange so they've taken some of that. Food, tech. Whatever you want to call it and put it into here. They also if you remember a post, I don't know what they call that crag scenes. Yeah, where they're all eating after the big fight New York and no one's talking. They're just chewing. Well, it's a Schwarm a place And like the Schwarm of palace or something. Well, they actually have that in this, uh, this this new campus That's adventures campus so you can get the shawarma. That they were eating at the end of that film, too. So there's a lot of neat and fun things going. Speaking of the magic being at Disneyland Resort KF, I am sick sport. "Some of the stories we're watching in the K F 24 hour news room. U. S Drought Monitor says drought conditions are getting worse in California It says 73% of the state is now listed as being in extreme drought. That's an increase from 53% that was considered to be in extreme drought last week, and China says the part of its long March rocket that launched the core module to its space station will mostly burn up when it reenters Earth's atmosphere tomorrow. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman says the rockets designed to be almost completely destroyed during the re entry process, the Pentagon said earlier this week it's tracking the Rockets re entry and that it will most likely crashed somewhere into the Pacific Ocean. 5 55. There's so much entertainment news to cram in with Jason Nathan Seuin. So we've got this movie that apparently is supposed to be kind of like the Goonies and stand by me. It's called the water Man. I'm thrilled about that one. You've got Billy Crystal and Tiffany had ish in here today, which seems like if this one goes right. This could be a really good movie those two together. I could definitely be down for that lots of stuff coming out on Apple TV plus on Netflix. So all of that's with Jason in just a few minutes. But right now it's our Friday chat with the house, whispered Dean Sharp. You can follow Dean on social media at home with Dean or just listen to him tomorrow morning. 68 Here on Ko Phi, Sunday morning, 9 to 11. Hi, Dean. Good morning. Good morning. When you sent me your list of the magic of makeovers, the very first one that you showed me is a bathroom where a bicycle is used as a sink vanity. And what was funny is I couldn't really see the picture until I clicked on it. All I thought was, Oh my gosh, please a bicycle as a sink Vanity. Then once I saw the concept, I thought that's the most brilliant and adorable thing I've ever seen. Such little faith, such little faith in me at this point? No, I should. I should just I should not even look at stuff. I should just be like. Of course it is. Of course it is. But this one I had to check out to explain to people what using a bicycle as a bathroom sink would look like because I know that's kind of a hard concept to wrap your head around. Well, by the way, I'm pretty sure it's a little too early to ask her, my partner, my design partner, but I'm pretty sure we've posted images of this up on our social media at home with Dean. If they aren't there right now, they will be there shortly. Just so everybody knows of what we're talking about this morning, but The whole point of of a point of a makeover with the bicycle was not turn your vanity into a bicycle. It wasn't that the point is That really, to encourage people creativity, creativity conquers cost. It really, really does. And the first thing that I want people to do when they're thinking about makeover stuff is just let themselves go a little crazy in their thoughts about possibilities. And here, we've got a situation where, obviously I don't even know that you have to be a bicycle lover because it's just a old timey bicycle. It just gives you this really great feel so, basically, we've got a bicycle up against the wall. Taken off the seat. A small countertop runs over at essentially seat level and right where the seat should be, is the kitchen sink, and the little wicker basket on the front of the bicycle has some flowers in it, and also serves as a great place to hand that the hand towel and so there is no denying that this would make a vanity in a bathroom. Of tremendous character, a powder room, especially just tremendous character. Talk about telling a story and Completely enthralling. Anybody who uses that room and basically you know it's an old bicycle. And so when you think about the dollars and sense of it the creativity in this case, this is probably something that you would find at a garage sale. Somebody somewhere the dollars and cents of it saves hundreds of dollars of bathroom remodeling money by getting Creative and it's so fun. It is. It is so cute and the flowers in the basket that part by the way, I just checked your instagram while you were talking, and it is up there so at home with Gene, if you want to see the picture of the bicycle it is so cute. One of the other ones that you sent me which I have this and I thought, Oh, that's brilliant. And I wish I'd gone that direction, innit? No windows in your powder room, go dark, And at first you think, But Dean, that's a small space. Don't I want to lighten it up? Don't want to brighten it up. But then I saw the pictures and again. Why don't I trust you? Why don't I I don't know. I don't know, Jen. I just don't know. No. Okay, So the idea is this, Uh, a lot of us have powder rooms that bathroom right off the hallway right in the middle of the house and the powder room, You know, because of its location doesn't have any exterior windows, which is never, you know a fantastic thing per se. And I am Mr Daylight. So I'm the guy who's going to tell you anywhere in your house. Those window should be bigger. We need more glass in this room. All right. S O. The assumption is then that That Well, Dean's going to hate this idea. And we should take this the this little powder room and we should just be white on white on white and make it his brightest possible. No, no, because here's the thing. You got a room like this? I'm not suggesting you do this two bedrooms or anything like that. That's a problem that has to be solved with daylight, but a powder room a bathroom like this. You know what? Why fight it? Because here's the reality. If you're in a room where once you shut the door, If the lights are off, it is going to be pitch black in there. No matter what, Okay, even if it's the widest of finishes, white toilet white walls, white floor white ceiling. It's still gonna be pitch black. Then you know what? Allow yourself to embrace the dark and what you get out of it. Is something so sumptuous and the best way to describe this for folks. Uh, you know the picture I gave you here. This is, uh, black wallpaper with some some gold foiling patterns in it. It's dark fixtures. It's a dark floor. Imagine that you're at a really ritzy restaurant somewhere some nice, dark romantic steakhouse. You get up. You go to use the restroom..

"Seems to been working right up to the end of his long life. He was 91 years old. I think he worked from the day he was born. There is if you do not like him in a movie, you've just not watched movies because I am Bebe has him at over 200 credits in his lifetime, and we're talking about everything you know. Like you just played there from the sound of music to return of the Pink Panther to Star Trek six. A beautiful mind The insider up girl with the Dragon tattoo recently knives out, which was just you know, little over a year ago, he was in that and he was working. There's one credit to his name that he was working on, at least in terms of a voice Actor. Up until the end there, so we don't know exactly what happened. Other than the fact that he was 91 Possibly this was old age or if there was anything else so associated with it, But like you said he was working pretty much right up into the end. Was stunned by his performance and knives out. I thought for a guy who was in who of that age and the enthusiasm and what he put into that role. He didn't have to work, but he was just so good at it. I guess he didn't want to give it up. Sure that you know that's the case with so many people who, when they find something that they love, and what they do is not a job. It is it comes from their heart and they love it. Why stop doing it? And you're right and knives out. He was Fantastic. And you think about you know the end scene where he kind of ties it all together and you get the sense of you know what this woman was going through and what she was told in the, which was acting on and The way he kind of describes lays out this plan for her on D fact that he was 87 or 88 when he was doing that is just extraordinary. My generation remembers him from the role of Captain von Trapp in Sound of music. As you mentioned, we heard the sound bite a second ago. And you know, he said, I remember reading something, Jason that he really didn't even like that movie or expected to become a classic hits. You know, not surprising, and I don't know that he, you know, he's a kind of classically trained Shakespeare. Pepe Guy. Uh, this is a musical on film when musicals and films weren't necessarily the thing to do at that time. So it might have been seen as frivolous, Possibly. But he was He was great in that role. I mean, he really He acted his his his tail off and he's fantastic in it. We, as you mentioned don't know a cause of death for a lot of detail, But we do know that he was at home in Connecticut. Is that right? Yeah, with his wife, Elaine Taylor. We're told by his side, the two of them together in the statement from his manager, longtime friend that he and his wife had been together for 53 years was there with him. Bond that she was by his side, You know, might seem to lead that there was some kind of illness or something that was going on. Or maybe this is just sudden. We don't know. I mean, one of the first question is, of course in this time is that what does this have Anything to do with Kovar 19, which has taken so many people. Especially in that age range. But we've not heard anything about that. With ABC ENTERTAINMENT NEWS, Jason Nathan Seuin with Cuomo's Ric van size and again If you just heard this for the first time we lost Christopher Plummer. Passed away at the age of 91 early Friday and getting back to mention there that Rick was saying about Christopher Plummer and his distance from the sound of music. It was a couple of years ago, I had the honor of doing the sound of music sing along, which was a long time tradition here in Seattle at the Fifth Avenue Theater, Dwayne Chase Was hanging out with me that night. He actually lives in the area. Dwayne Chase played Kurt von Tropp in the movie made a big deal about the fact you chose Mark. I beat out Kurt Russell for the role. And Wayne was telling me that everybody in the cast Julie Andrews, and everyone has kept in contact. They all have their phone numbers and her cell phones. In fact, right on stage. He showed me a cell phone. And there was the number of Julie Andrews but join Did mention Christopher Plummer stayed away from all the re unions when it came to, you know, making appearances on network Morning news and such, but they still had Phone number, and they could call and say hi. In fact, I read somewhere that Christopher Plummer always referred to the sound of music. It made him a star, but it was a role, he lamented as humorless and one Dimensional. And I gotta say ABC television has done well, at least once a year. They still air the sound of music. This is come on news. You want to watch this weekend because I know it's Friday and I want to break it up a little bit. You can only talk about this nonsense so much. In a steady diet of is going to make you and me both crazy because she really can't change it. You can only hope to make things better moving forward, and that's where we stand. So on that note, How does someone Decide. Hey, you know what? I support Donald Trump. I voted for Trump. I may be one attend Israelis. I like what he has to say. The policies are good. You know what I need to do? I need to break into the U. S. Capitol. And start storming things I need to New to commit an act of sedition. What what kind of person joins the mob that breaks into the capital? I think this is a real a really important facet of this and how folks like that thing In this case, it's the U. S Capitol tomorrow. It could very well be. Well. I don't know a city Hall of federal building somewhere out in that little Let's say Washington state. What? What causes people to think. That this is the most important thing that this is so critical. We must break the government or we must you occupy you certain parts of territory in order for the rest of world to see what it is. We see. And on that is a doctor Cathy Seifert. She's a forensic psychologist and violence expert has a bunch of books on the Children, Nelson and created a risk evaluation model for adolescents and Predictor. One of the most world Act breakers, future violence and Children. It's available for free download in your APP store, and Dr Cathy Seifert. Welcome to show Are you I am great. How are you? So I'm not ready to march on any building whatsoever and take it over. Um, I think I'm relatively normal. I would say that most people listening to me right now probably feel the same way. But how does this happen? Where does this come from? Is it I guess to pull it back a little bit. You know, we saw tens of thousands of people at the U. S capitol the other day. Who went before that the leaps right there were listen to Donald Trump Speak. Listen to his words. They marked it Walk peacefully. Everything's good. And then a subset of that large group decides that they need to take it a step further or went there with the intention of storming the U. S capitol in an act of sedition. I'm not talking about attending a rally and enjoying our First Amendment rights is many people did that day. But I'm talking about the people who crossed that threshold. What makes one want to do something like that? And so I think you've hit the nail on the head. And so it is a subgroup. Double arch your group. Most people are not violent. They're law abiding and would never 100 years. Break into the capital. There is a subset of probably almost every group of people that perhaps grew up in a violent neighborhood. There was violence in the family, uh, that Made an impression on them when they were young child. And they some of them grow up, believing that Violent and taking the law into your own hands. Is not only an okay thing to do but unnecessary studio. Um, so there's levels of anger. If you got angry you're not gonna go storm the Capitol. But there are people who are vulnerable for that anger to go so far out of control, So it's more like being able to regulate our manager anger to stay with the bounce. Okay, then I guess that makes sense. But if you surround your people who are like them, and I think that's the danger it it seems like it used to be that you would have these individuals that acted independently. Still, though, um, independent, bad actors right? That would do things like this people that would say pipe bombs or target individuals assassination attempts. But now in the day of the Internet, where you have these online communities where you can fight, you're not now not only longer, the lone voice in the wilderness, you can collaborate with others and in So is that a self fulfilling prophecy is that you're drawn to things like this and then because you're in an echo chamber. Your views aren't so radical anymore And you know, you start to think. Wow. Everybody thinks this way. Yes. And you are again Absolutely right. And so when you have the lone actor like the Christmas Morning bombing, he's working individually. He doesn't have anybody egging him on. What's going on is totally with him, Sam, But you get a group of people who all think alike and a segment of them think it's time to take action no matter what the consequences. It's those people went there in a crowd. And they're being egged on and supported by people around them. Give some more courage to go ahead and do it While he's doing it. I couldn't do it. So the crowd of mentality does. That the situation in real time and we're learning doctor more about these people's particular. Actually, Babbitt Actually, Babbitt was the young woman 35 year old woman who was shot by Capitol police and she tried to enter, um, enter those halls and was shot and killed. Unarmed. We're learning more about her. And because, you know, she became a diehard Q and on in full wars type of person. I really thought that that you know, all these things were happening like like Hollywood was sacrificing Children and that Mike Pence was guilty of treason that justice Roberts was guilty of treason and they must resign. You know, not long ago she was serving in the military. She's fine. She believe in her country. She had strong patriotic beliefs believed in our our way of life here in America. Um hi. Where's that? What happened? What do you get to the point Where your this person now? I mean, you start out not too long ago being a well adjusted sound individual eyes. They're a mental deficiency as a component of that a mental disorder in there, or is it just that What we said. You're just constantly barraged by the by the same thoughts every day. Our people predisposed like her to this. Yes, but there are some people who are predisposed because they've had difficulty. Following the rules that's put it that way their entire life. And that may have Tom Um, early childhood trauma. They just have difficulty with your anger and getting along with other people their entire life, So it's not something that just happens all of a sudden. It's something that comes on gradually, and then you get people who support what you're doing what you're saying. You become faithful is part of the crowd and You'll do much more. Then you ever thought you were capable of doing Dr Seifert. You brought up something interview, said. This is people have trouble following rules. But clearly that wasn't the case with actually Babbit because for almost half her young life She was, I think, 14 years I believe she's in another force veteran. If you're in the military, you have to follow the rules. That's the whole point of the military. How do those two things work? Well, you're absolutely right and following the rules is important. But if you think once if you believe that one of the rules Is to brake. The present rules because the wrong people can see encourage To go. What I think everybody's saying was too far.
