It's been a week for the site in the channel. If you guys haven't already checked it out. Our boys as zim interviewed none other wooden spain. Yesterday's definitely check out. You had a lotta great insight as well but honestly men kind of riding a high right now because the the nfl knows me. They knows who. I am apparently because they just released a bunch of merchandise with my name on it. I guess this guy. I don't know who's edged here is but he's doing like some performance and they're putting his name on like all his merchandise but obviously like i'm like the nfl I feel like this is like a to me. And i did. I did end up getting hat though. And i will get ahead where i will. Weird are will wear the next time we go on. That's awesome that's awesome. We've we've had a really really busy past couple of weeks on the show. We're really proud of. What are you know what our little show is done. And then of course the great stuff that as him matt we had a fund roundtable last week we've had and we've been were looks like we're joined by him in the live chat here jake of locked on bengals. We are pleased to be joined by him. And james repeat a couple of fridays ago for another fund roundtable. We've got a special interview hitting tomorrow. We had a special one about a week and a half ago with devon leah. Still we've got a lot of fun stuff going on and hopefully enjoyed it as we gear up for the bengals hosting the vikings in week one. It's a big game. We're going to preview that one at the end of the show. We've got a believe it or not segment with a couple of topics that we want to talk. About as it pertains to the cincinnati bengals and instead of a week by week or headline type of approach with this when we're gonna do a little bit of a full season scope type of type of look at it and of course we're gonna maybe get to a little bit of news to to start the start the show off and what else am i missing here we got. We've got the positional preview. The offensive tackles. We have yet to to talk about them. The last remaining we time that so well. The last remaining position to talk about is right before go on. So we've got a lot to get to and Let's hop to it. I guess if we want to get to some news. John the biggest and we talked about it here but it has been confirmed as of early this week. I believe it was on labor day. Actually drains is out. He will not play on sunday against the vikings a bummer on multiple levels. Because not only is he one of his not their top. Cornerback depending on your feelings on jacoby leuze. But he didn't get to go up against his old team and that's kind of a bummer too. So trains out. Eli apple and we had a little chat about eli apple last week. But now it's official. How you feel about that. It was just a matter of how many games beyond this game is. Trey winds won miss. And there's obviously the vikings factor into the potential revenge game. That's been now what eighteen months or so in the making and it's been at least eighteen months since trae wayne's has played in actual football game so unfortunate but you know we talked about the implications of that against an offense quarterbacked by kirk cousins but also features running back donald cook. We don't really know how. Vikings are going to attack this defense. We just know that they're going to attack it with. Eli apple one. The cornerback spots and he's going up against either really good young receiver injustice jefferson or really good veteran receiver. In feeling. so long. Your butts. I guess yeah and our esteemed leader over its cincy jungle. Jason markham Talks part of it is about the the pay the pay lip sorry the the cap hit the bengals would take if they cut him last year already. Having that discussion. I guess to some degree. I'm not there yet. i kinda wanna see. There's a reason why you know They've got him on the act. Rosser not an ira situation or anything like that. So this obviously doesn't seem to be something that's going to be super long term. At least we say that now. No the cincinnati bengals in their medical staff at times. But we say that now. So i still think there is a good chance at redemption And obviously he brings a lot of things to the team that they like. It's just hagen field man you gotta on the field you gotta contribute and you got to start doing that but he has an opportunity. I think we're probably looking at week. Two three four. Maybe that he back john But we will we will see Not great news though for the cincinnati bengals in their defense. Although for the most part aside from khalid korean josephus i white huber. Trae wayne's. They're they're they're relatively healthy going into this season as as opposed to previous years. I mean we're just knocking on trae wayne's because he makes a lot of money supposed to start these on healthy blood honestly compared to years past like in even last year where they didn't play preseason game they played three preseason games. they're more healthier now compared to where they usually are twenty one of the starters. You want to play this game so honestly if you're bengals fan and you know that. The franchises snake bit with very crucial injuries. It's not so bad entering week. one. I don't even wanna go here necessarily but i just always in the back of my mind. These past couple of years have been some of the most exciting in terms of free agency for the cincinnati bengals especially outside free agents. That they have netted. And i just hope that this type of situation with trae wayne's doesn't cause them in years in the future to to pull back on that because They they need to be active as they have. Been the past couple of years in free agency. We'll see another discussion for another time. The injury report did come out john. This is on Since jungled dot com. "Training camp what we've what we've seem to notice is there seems to be certain points of camp where the defense is doing really well in dominating things for a long stretch of time. The offense is playing really wound. Defense is really struggling or quite frankly. Both both units are struggling. Well it turns out that These are taking turns here. They're kind of taking turns in terms of who's who's Who's playing well who's not playing. Well who's showing up. Who's not who's not showing up and you know the basically the takeaways here aside from the the the cool videos on here that on since jungle on this post here really. The offense bounced back And then me on williams was was impressing. Here's will read our this year because of the video Took up the screener but trayvon williams looking like he is playing pretty well Played well in front of the crowd on saturday. So you got you. Gotta treat me. On williams impressing nary could see here with with joe. Mix in and somali j. p. rhine having the top two running back spots locked up. Not mitch the bengals of ghana. The regular season with just three packs four williams needs to in camp. And then obviously you've got you've got buca. Williams got chris evans in there. They're also working at wide receiver at times so Williams looked like he had a couple of nice. Plays on on saturday and those videos were courtesy of daddy. Mcdougal check those out on his twitter account. Taylor seems to be this. This preseason hero it usually happens with the bengals wide receiver position at trent. Taylor seems to be the guy that is really impressing so You know we've we've sort of penciled him in had us in cincy jungle in those who cover the team we've sort of penciled him in as the teams punt returner he's gonna make this team he's gonna special teams value so We we've pencilled him in as a guy that's gonna make this team and here you go. Ben baby trenton. Taylor in trenton. Irwin had some nice catches today. As as of saturday Tiller did a great job waiting on a corner route from borough who dropped in well so a lot of good things come in from saturday especially on the offensive side of the ball and then of course. Evan mcpherson the team's rookie kicker that they drafted he's hitting bombs and in all kinds of different practices and he looks really really good awesome cyber his hit some good kicks while mcpherson just continues to impress so a really good showing by the bengals especially on offense on saturday. Maybe that was a little bit intentional with all the people in attendance there but who knows they they seem to be. The offense seemed to be doing while there. And then there's been a lot of jostling back and forth in terms of overall unit performance. Defense offense which which i i know. Sometimes it's like oh boy but sometimes it's good. It is good to see both units having their time to shine in different parts of practice now also on saturday what was seen and heard among the fan base who were in attendance. Zack taylor addressed the crowd. And one of the things he proclaimed was at fans will be proud of these bangles now. Maybe a little vague as to what that specifically means but one thing. I can prompt the quotas one thing i can promise you. You're going to be very proud of this team this year. Now does that mean more wins. I think a lot of beliefs does that mean more wins in these one possession games that they can't seem to close out hopefully does that mean more decisive wins. Does that mean a higher level of effort. Now that zack. Taylor has quote unquote his guys. The hope is that the answer is yes to all of those So i i think as we all sit here and we have a pretty high level of optimism for this team where they're heading zack. Taylor proclaims that fans that he did this at the back together. Saturday event publicly addressing the fans Saying that you know basically fans are gonna be proud of this team. Whatever that specifically means whatever he is maybe going to point to it. That will we'll see but he's pretty confident where the bangles are at at this point in what they are doing in training camp. What they've been showing. So i guess we gotta take back at his word and believe that the bengals are heading in the right direction. Like i said a lot of sights and sounds from camp seemed to be showing that now. Let's keep moving on into later in the weekend and into yesterday. Which was monday some more sights and sounds from the team. This is And if you don't follow this gentlemen. Please do keith jenkins. He covers the the cincinnati bengals. He's been doing a good job over at camp there This is a quote from mike. Hilton who is quickly becoming a fan favourite. I mentioned he was one of. It's not my favorite free agency. Addition by the bengals this off season but a quote that was relayed. Now what's kind of different to me. i mean. sometimes we've had players that talk after practice. Sometimes there's a little bit of the practice quotes. It seems that most of these are coming before practice. But at any rate. Mike helton addressing. The media said this of jessie bates. He is the number one. Safety quote is the best safety in the game. He doesn't just get the respect. he deserves. praised his mental approach and playmaking ability. And that's i guess why that would be especially eye-opening the fact that hilton play with mak- fitzpatrick a guy who usually gets a lot. More praise a lot more attention nationally than just bates does. So that kinda of tells you a lot. He played with another good safety. You know it could be a little bit players speak there but hey we all love. Jessie bates we hope he gets extended. And we know he is one of if not the best safety in the game right now. So you gotta you gotta like those words from mike hilton. Praising one of his secondary secondary buddies we big. Jim saint pay the man of course and then trae rock saying he ain't lying. Let's keep rolling on here so there was some different stuff going on with some injuries. Now fortunately knock on wood. Everybody knock on wood at the same time here. That's been very very quiet. The beginning part of training camp. It hasn't been the case in zack. Taylor i two training camps in terms of avoiding injuries in the early parts of practice but there are a couple of guys who have who are on the pup list and then off it and then there are some others that are dealing with some tweaks. "Are all doing well on this tuesday. We've been coming at you on mondays. The past couple of weeks bringing you the water cooler chat and i'm flying solo today. The past couple of weeks some great guests strawberry ice jeff. Trenopolje green green the orange. Ero i should say Derek joining us air and happy to have both of them with us the past couple of weeks. And now we're gonna talk. I'm i'm going solo. Go i apologize to those who are tuning in for the live broadcast. I know you're supposed to live a little bit earlier than expected Just been rounding up some information for all of you got a lot to comb through a lot to get to and really get to all of its wanted to make sure i had as much information as possible so that we can slam you with all kinds of different stuff going on with the cincinnati bengals. They've seen north. The rest of the nfl as training. Camps are in full swing. As of tuesday it is the first fully padded practice for the cincinnati bengals and a lot of sites and sounds from that courtesy of all kinds of great great media members in the cincinnati media. They are doing a great job covering training camp for is making our jobs Easier and making us as fans Given us all kinds of different content video content all kinds of stuff. So thank you to all the great cincinnati media members out there before we get to all of this stuff. I wanna do a little bit of housecleaning with some different pieces of information for all of you. I everybody i don. I don't get to see all of you look So last week we were privileged enough to have both ken anderson and ken riley second join us for the podcast was along podcast long show but an awesome one and i highly recommend that you check out those interviews. We had a great time. Talking about their careers can riley seniors at is as well as that of ken anderson. Some thoughts on the current bengals in all kinds of different things as well as the great work. Their foundations are doing so we started a charity. Drive we. We made a little bit of a lofty goal. Two thousand twenty one dollars where were over halfway there and guess what tomorrow afternoon at four thirty pm eastern in case you have not heard we have these third and unfortunately the well. The only other player left that We have yet to interview and the other surviving member of the ring of honor. What has transpired from saturday with bengals camp that is and then of course up to now. So there's been quite a few developments quite a few things quite a few events cool sites and sounds from camp from from cincinnati bengals. And and what they're doing there. I wanna start with our a little video here from our good friend. Bengals jim in his twitter account This is this is kind of a cool thing here. Let's let's rewind it from the beginning this him walking up on the On the back together saturday. Look at the crowd. If you were there we'd love to see some pictures and videos and whatnot but thousands and thousands of people on hand for that practice. The first one that fans were able to attend since twenty nineteen first training camp that fans practice that fans were able to attend since before the pandemic and they came out in droves really cool site bunch support for the cincinnati. Bengals as you saw pictures within the stadium as they were practising you could see. I mean it was almost it was almost as full as a An end of the year game when the bengals out of the playoffs. It looked like they were just a lot of people there. So you have some some footage or or photos from your time there. We'd love to see those and get those to us please. stuff at least from the sites Aspect of get together back together. Saturday rather with the bengals here are. This is on cincy. Jungle dot com. A lot of this stuff is not only from what we've heard but also those who were there are good buddy daddy o mcduck mcnew was there and you could see here. Here's another good shot of the lower level here In terms of the crowd but there are you see some good stuff from baroda boyd. Here's here's the thing with with this and you can you know. There's all kinds of different videos that we could share with you here. The thing is friday. The offense had a rough day saturday. The offense looked like it showed up. Rebounded well there were a lot of nice nice connections between borough in his wide receivers happening and all kinds of different all kinds of different things. The offense was achieving. And then you know you've kind of had this back and forth some more things from the offenses this week is started and then today was a little bit more of a of defense. So you know there's it's there's a lot of back and forth this camp. It's not we we've as we've all plays been covering training camp what we've what we've seem to notice is there seems to be certain points of camp.

"I don't really understand the whole thing. I don't want to pretend to be. You know mr Encyclopedia about all this stuff. But he is kind of my explanation with it. These different lists and their designations. Really what it does is it provides roster flexibility for the team in so in what it does it is also protects these players. So that remember. Remember the antonio Who was it the bryant situation. The weiming needs ago. They didn't they didn't protect any. Add an injury issue a rush them out to practice. They didn't have him on the pup list anything like that. So then what happens is you couldn't put him on the pup list. You couldn't protect him. You lose them for the whole season in Contracts awash so this is this is kind of a little bit of cya. If you will. And i think a lot of what that acronym means In terms of the team and what they're doing with these players so when when when someone is asking why are they on this list. What does this mean. basically it means. They're not rushing out to practice. Because if they do that the injury gets worse. All that kind of stuff then. You can't pop list him. You can't hang onto him. You're basically relegated a lot. In a lot of instances to put on i r but one thing that that sticks out to me is a lot of the young guys names on this on these. That's a little concerning to me. Jeff yeah yeah well. I'm concerned with some of the sample. And i know he's day to day or whatever because i think he's got a shot to be a big impact player for us and the other thing i find interesting is what's tearing their pecs one and two years. I mean mckinsey. Alexander was out in the quarterback trimmings trailing. He tore his last year effort whole year. Now's like what's going on with that. But yeah the one. That really concerned about is a sample. Because i think can be a very good player for us. At least i'm hoping so wide huber. He's he's going to be good. One hopefully hopefully come back but it doesn't sound like it. Yeah here's a little bit more from james routine of all bengals andy. Locked on bengals podcast. Great guy great coverage guy of the team as well just kind of extrapolating a little bit more information on the white hubert situation on drew christmas. So you see drew. Kristen will be a few weeks. It's a i guess it's a hand injury And then camp sample with the hamstring issue hookah williams also In that in that sphere of of all the names that we're mentioning there but thanks to james for passing on that information there that was relayed through the luncheon today What's what's with this. Mock turtle soup thing man I have you tried this thing. That i guess that that was the dish that was served lunch. And i i have never heard of this thing. I've heard i've heard a turtle soup. I've never i've never had it's either. I think i want to turtle in it. I don't think i'm going to try to hear ya but hey it might be good. Who knows what supposedly what they were serving at the lunch. And what i understand it wasn't actual turtle meat a ground beef or something like that. So is it a turtle turtle shell maybe that's Maybe it's for all those super mario fans or something wrong. This is just a little bit more again. The bengals in this is on cincy. So that's That's kinda to me really jeff. It's a little bit Khalid green down right right right like that. You gotta you gotta step up. I mean these are when you draft these guys on day three yeah. The expectations aren't overly high. But as we talked about earlier. Edge defenders are valuable. You need to get guys that can rush the Rush the passer. Even if it's situationally or on limited snaps so they're going to need to find something to replace white hubert regardless of how little or how big of plans. They had four him this year. Yeah one thing. I've said on my show. I think this is an i said earlier. I think this talented team also is the deepest team that zach has had so it's already contested l. Y. huber was a guy. I was real ford seeing play. He was southern. Pick out and it was. It was a guy that you know. Some people said he couldn't hire you know five or six around so he was guy was look forward to seeing what he can do. I think he was mostly going to be backup special teams guy but still. You need guys like that. So this is where the the depth comes into it and this is why. I'm glad that the bengals did not spend so much money on one offensive lineman. Everyone wanted to do and the off season. We spread the money out. We still have money left. Who spend to go. Pick some guys up here when trang camp start because you guys are going to get cut so there's going to be a challenge to see how the seam is hopeless. I sign of things to come because last year as you know we got so injured. I mean it we pull guys off the street and that's what we don't want to do this year. So that's why i do like the debt that we have but it's already we're already have to dig into it and like you said next man up you want your opportunity there. It is well going into this weekend. They haven't really been looking at edge outside rush help. As of this moment. they're probably you know sniffing around some players in tried bigger some stuff out and of course we always have to look at the the final cuts right. There's always the late late waiver wire editions after all the final cuts after preseason so that may be another area where the bengals but in the meantime you kind of teased it a little bit. The bengals didn't splash big time in the offensive line the big signing was riley reef of course but they did add some offensive line depth over the weekend so they added a center. Lamont guy yard. I hope i'm pronouncing that correctly off of waivers. A couple of other teams put waiver claims into him from what i understand jeff. This was a little bit of a surprise to cardinal fans and those close to the club because this this guy started a couple of games farm last year did okay and they thought he was at least going to be a backup. Maybe a you know a rotational guy. Or maybe them into a starting role down the road but They cut him. And i end though now. The bengals picked him up and bengals going into the weekend. Now you know you've got the hubert situation so those numbers are little inflex..

"Draper particularly kansas city doing a lot to fix their issues that we saw on center stage in the super bowl with the offensive line editions that they have made but Yeah it is rare rare in this day and age the nfl because it is a league built on parody and teams are doing what they can and you know. Injuries hit different teams in how they cope with. All of that is all you know. Kind of kind of different but At any rate interesting article there as the the bengals maybe are picked by. Cbs sports to be a little bit better than some other pundits. Pick them to be at at this point in time for this for this year and i guess it would be i. I had kind of nine wins as maybe a a point that the bengals could reach this year. I think a lot of things had to go right and they had mature fast and show progress. I guess i would feel more confident about that. Obviously if joe burrow was playing arrest of last year and you continue to see those steps maybe they won six games last year and then they made the editions they made but You know that's not reality that we're dealing with at this point. I want to go here. John and this is just a little bit of. We had a little mention of bengal jam here. So here's here's bengal jim on since jungle dot com. This is from our fearless leader over there. Jason markham and this is kind of some training camp dates. I believe and of course a big announcement that they made john and this kind of goes ties into a little bit. What we're talking about with the first story that we covered in the with the bengals again with the ring of honor and all of that but they are going. They announced that they are going to be inviting. Fans back to paul brown stadium for back together saturday on july thirty first Fans can watch the practice and there's family friendly activities inflatables face painting balloon artists pictures. Sure there's a Adult beverage and non adult beverage garden of some kind. They'll have all kinds of different things and the big thing about this. John is it just seems like a bit of normalcy after everything that we experienced all of last year into this year and It seems as if they are going to be pretty safe about this but Just kind of feels nice. That fans will be welcomed back. And what are they letting it upwards of five thousand. I think to this event. I think i read so pretty cool thing here and it sounds like a fun event. Yeah like a lot of my memories. Growing up involve watching bengals training camp especially in the old days when they were down in georgetown and they have those practices in georgetown stadium. So you always had a good view of the practices and they also had other practice. Feels that you can go around. But they've had this family day type event during normal years ever since moved back. Cincinnati for training camp. It's fun note your shade. If you're on the west side. During the day i always have a good view again of the practice field. Everything is on one field so you don't have to worry about going over to another field or looking in on the on the far side of the field like everything is pretty much in front of you so if you are considering going to train him for the first time or going back after your often kobe. I would definitely recommend this. I guess it should be noted that in years past you know they've had upwards of a dozen open practices to the public this year. It's only three including this type of the on july thirty first of all the other open practices are on saturday. August seventh and sunday august. Eighth which i believe. I don't know if. I think it's actually on the practice field so that those are on just the traditional practice fields where it has been for the past ten ten or so years but this seems like a lot of fun for people who want to get back into the swing of things they've you've never seen Of in person. Before so definitely south interested and i think i think the first preseason game as we sit here on wednesday july fourteen. I think we're just about a month out from the first preseason game are we not john. Yeah so Pretty pretty good stuff in a fun event in its you can go. I quit the link. In all of the live jets. Numbers now the nfl did not recognize quarterback sacks statistic until the nineteen eighty two season. Obviously there are plenty of hall of fame pass rushers who played in the sixties and seventies and they obviously registered their quarterbacks during those time periods and that information has always been very tough to find. You had to go to like you know wherever they did compile stuff. It took a long time but this week they posted these unofficial sag numbers on their website. And we got a lot of clarity on just how productive some of these former bengals players in the seventies were. You're coming off a good weekend as well. tell us what what what's new man. How you doing nothing much new. What is new. I guess is fantastic. Summertime weather here in. Cincinnati was like seventy two yesterday and took a walk alongside the ohio river. Some more great weather today and at this time. Right before the sunset no blaring noise from They've all gone through seventeen year resting spot. So i'll see them in twenty thirty eight but things are good here cincy. How how're things nella. It's all right man Got some not so welcome news about my my arm. Injury this morning so Just kinda trying to keep my head up on that one but otherwise it's all right man can't complain overall just just grin and bear in you. Know what. I mean so We you know i know. This is not necessarily the The busiest time in terms of headlines in terms of news because of angles cut out of practice. A couple of days. Early and you. They're taking a little time off. We are not really doing that but they're still kind of a lot to talk about. We're going to go through a couple of headlines that we didn't necessarily cover on the water cooler chat as well as give some further opinions on definitely wanna hear john's take on some of these things we are going to be talking about the tight end group tonight. We're going to continue our positional previews and then we've got a state your case talking about the wide receiver group in the. That'll that'll be this week's show. Hopefully you caught last week show with lindsay patterson. That was a ton of fun. She was great We we had a lot of fun there and You know we're. We're doing a lot of fun things. I guess John did as have tee higgins mom on the show on their show This this week. Last wednesday i think that was announced on twitter earlier. This week i it might be happening as we speak Know for a fact what their schedule is. But yeah. I think i think that is in the works. I'm not a fan of. I said this on the water cooler chat. I'm not really a fan of arbitrary lists in how that comes about but there were a couple of rankings. Lists that came out. Especially as it pertains to the quarterbacks especially as it pertains to joe burrow i guess. Do you want to start with the negative. One i sean or the the more positive one. How do we want to start off the show kind of no. Do we want to start the show off with let's start with the quote unquote negative seals perspective. Here from certain analyst okay. So let's we'll get that pulled up here in just a sec. This has to do with chris. simms. Chris simms was was in the league for a while. was largely a backup. Actually kind of a fire remember correctly. A couple of crazy injuries. But now works for nbc. Sports does a lot of stuff with pro. Football talk has his own podcast nationally. Syndicated podcast. And i'll share this here. John this is This was written on cincy jungle by jason markham but basically according to his rankings. He has joe burrow ranked seventeenth. Now there are times sims kinda likes to do the little bit of the shock value thing with with some of his rankings and sometimes that shock value is actually something that makes a little bit of sense and other times. It's just kind of stirring the pot to stir the pot. It would seem where what do you make of this one. Where we're joe burrow's ranked seventeenth. Nfl quarterbacks coming into this year. Low for starters chris. Simms is the king of quarterback rankings. Remember he was on the dan lebatardshow a few years ago. And they made the whole thing about you know who's fifteenth-ranked quarterback controversy about arrogance or even carson wentz overtaking. Tom brady inside the top three. So i know. For a fact that chris simms pours is heart and soul into these rankings. And it's done entirely by his own accord to his work so i'm not questioning the legitimacy of it I think joe burrow. I think at at this point. Seventeen out of forty total quarterbacks in these rankings. Not bad by any means he only played in ten games. We haven't seen a full season out of them. A lot of the things that we like you showed it for the most part is rick season. But we haven't seen it over the course of a sixteen and now going forward to seventeen game season and you definitely didn't have his best games against some of the best competition particularly against the ravens and against the steelers on the road there like there are some sore spots in his early in small. Nfl resume but there are definitely things so far so from a national analysts do. His whole job is to go over every single. Nfl quarterback who has a chance to play. Start this year. i think seventeen is about fair ranking. I don't think you know much lower than that without having some type of indebted against them but you know i wonder what a detroit lions podcast is thinking about this list. When they're seeing jared goff thirty first behind mack jones who may or may not even start doing so. I'm definitely a lot worse for bengals. Fans joe burrow again. A lot of things about him stole a lot of projection. Because you're going off the quarterback that he was at lsu you've only seen ten games have been in the bengals uniform obviously the trajectory is going upwards and there's a lot of promise there but win exactly save to throw this list in the trash because of that i agree with you on that point specifically The the number seventeen ranking. It's not absolutely outrageous especially with a ten game sample size. He's coming back from injury. All that kind of stuff. I get it. Here's where you lose me. And i'm going to highlight this a little bit..

Since i have taken the area and or we've talked and bengals with you and i guess i should start off with a little bit of an apology on that front. Because we had a great show lined up for alaska last wednesday and i unfortunately had a little bit of a sudden in freak injury. Occur to me on that day So i apologize. We did not take the apologize. It's been awhile since we have not taken the air. I'm still recovering from that. Still trying to find out more about what happened with me personally but At any at any rate i You know just trying to hang in there a little bit in and work through it. But i apologize to the listeners. Because we had everything set up and then it was just kind of a freak deal and Went to the er and the whole thing so not not fun but getting through it and happy to be back talking with you. All about the bengals about mandatory minicamp and all kinds of different things going on with the cincinnati bengals with the afc north with the rest of the nfl. There's a lot of news to get to. it's been an entire week. i can't even can't even believe it. It's been an entire week before we get to the news. I want to let you know aside from this show. This is we gotta share this for a variety of reasons. But we want to share this. Because he's one of our personal favorites on this program. He's been on our show. I guess i think it's been three times now. Mike daniels one of our very favorites. Great great guy. He's incredibly personable guy and A good football player. A good solid guy in the bengals locker room This is something through the player's tribune. Where players right kind of their own articles and put it out there. A lot of are long form type articles but this is on cincy. Jungle dot com. Mike daniels calls for juneteenth to be a federal holiday and you can see the entire kind of what his way his take on this growing up and why he thinks it should be a federal holiday. It is june nineteenth Can we won't go through through the full history lesson here. But i do recommend that you read. His article on the players tribune. There's a bit more on cincy. Jungle dot com. Obviously you can see june. nineteenth eighteen. Sixty five is is the date in history but It's it's a really really neat article from a guy who just is incredibly charismatic and has been a great addition to the bengals football team. So we would be remiss if we did not at least highlight this a little bit in in and tell you all about it. If you haven't seen it to go to the player's tribune. Or since he don't go dot com. The bengals are also working with in case you have not heard. This is since jungle as well working with five coaches in the nfl's minority fellowship program. There is one named mike brown. Ray augusta's who is a co defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at mckendry university Larry black i believe this is larry black who actually made a stop. Yeah went went on to sign with the bengals college free agent. He was a guy I think it was. He was chronicled in the bengals. Second hard knocks where he had. He was one of those guys that everybody was kind of pulling for. Unfortunately had a pretty bad injury but has gotten into. Coaching is the defensive line coach at the university of toledo. So bengals are bringing him back in this coaching program. Mike brown wide receivers coach at the university of cincinnati Tessa grossman a grad assistant in sports performance coach at illinois state university A graduate of dartmouth college which i believe runs pretty prominent dartmouth college alums in the brown family. So they've got a good A good pulse on things there. Steve langa hopefully. I am pronouncing that correctly. Offensive quality control coach at the university of north texas And then It is bill. Welsh bill walsh fellowship program. Obviously bill walsh spent some time with the cincinnati bengals so the bengals bringing in five Coaching interns. They're pretty cool stuff. There's been a lot of talk. I think the last time. Unfortunately not last wednesday but the wednesday prior we talked about jesse bates in his ranking in this pf system and all this kind of stuff but basically there is some good news here. The bengals secondary overall is listed in the top. Half by of the nfl by pro football. Focus you know. Say what you want about that but that does speak a little bit of volumes. Based on the fact that the bengals lost william jackson top corner they did bring into dobie a ymca. They did they're getting back. Trae wayne's they brought in mike hilton. They added von bell last year. Of course they have jesse bay twos emerging as one of the best defensive players in all of football it the unit ranks fifteenth in the nfl by pro football focus. Ben lindsey of pro. Football focus writes quote a collection of secondary starters that includes trains to dobie a woozy. Mike hilton von bell won't necessarily scare opponents but there aren't many weak links in this group. Either the bengals have done a good job. Solidifying the unit through free agency over the past few offseasons. It kinda reminds me a little bit with the bengals. Have done in the secondary this year. If you go back to like the first few years of the andy dalton era member. They lost jonathan joseph. We'll have more on him and a little bit. They lost johnson joseph to free agency. They got like nate clements. They got terence. Newman they've got reggie nelson. That was in twenty ten and they kind of collected these guys via trades and free agency. And all this kind of stuff and all of a sudden day You know they ended up kind of piecing together through different means a pretty solid secondary. Not one that was absolutely outstanding but one that played pretty. Well under mike zimmer and obviously that's the hope here with this group performing well under lou room. Oh mike zimmer was familiar with quite a few of those guys in that secondary before he got to the bengals in now You know this is kind of a little bit of a similar deal. Flew in a remote guys. He's comfortable with familiar with all that stuff. So pro. football focus has the bengals secondary ranked fifteenth with their rankings..

"It feels like it's been a long time since i've taken the error since we've taken the air it's been less than a week but we've we kinda switched up. The water cooler chat either. Going live on mondays. Going live on tuesdays. I've kind of decided for the purposes of what's going on in the early parts of summer Sometimes the tuesday switch up is a good thing because the bengals ended up practicing on tuesdays in there are some more sights and sounds to talk about so every once in a while. We'll go back and forth on monday and tuesday during the summer and then probably as we get into the regular season. We'll be doing the water cooler chats a bit more. Of course he had the The surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and in this is of course via ian rapoport of nfl network the The cowboys team physician is Let's see a doctor. Dan cooper performed the surgery on atkins. It's not a dallas visit or anything like that so it it's not. There's not a lot of interest yet on gino atkins but it's it is interesting that a cowboys doctor did the procedure. And this is it from a few days ago here but he is thirty three years old these you know he may still have quite a bit left in the tank. We don't know yet but it appears that he is re having. He's kind of waiting here for another opportunity. And if you remember a couple of weeks ago maybe maybe is more like a month or so ago. there was an update. That was put out there. That zac taylor in the bengals haven't really and even gino atkins himself haven't really closed the door completely on a reunion there. So that may be in the cards for gino atkins for the bengals. We don't know for sure but he's supposed to be cleared for From the torn rotator cuff by july first. According to a source here with ian rapoport so gino atkins recovering from that torn rotator cuff and Was performed by a in had a checkup with a cowboys. They're so pretty interesting. Kinda turn of events with that but we have to see a wait and see if do you know atkins in the bengals if a reunion is in the works there we don't know for sure but stranger things have happened. At any rate he is still lingering out there and looking for the next opportunity as his career winds down hopefully hall of fame when we know how that goes with cincinnati bengals players in the hall of fame. But i digress. Ps will be talking a little bit more just a little headline on pro football hall of fame and bengals players in just a minute. Let's talk some joe burrow pro football focus. Pf predicts joe burrow will set bengals passing record. What passing record is that Well you gotta read the article and you gotta read it on cincy jungle dot com or the you can just look at the tweet tweeter. These are the offense projections by. Pf fantasy the passing yards Over forty five hundred forty. Five thirty eight would set the franchise mark For for single season passing yards by quite a bit So yeah you see here. Andy dalton is actually the career the single season holder with forty two ninety three besting carson palmer's forty two oh six and then carson palmer also had two other four thousand yard seasons as well with the bengals there but i know that's a good trivia question a lot of people would probably assume it was boomer or can anderson or may or may be carson palmer. That has the single season passing record for passing yards record for the bengals but no no. It's andy dalton but these are the projections by fantasy here. You see the forty five thirty eight passing yards for joe burrow which would be the record setter over thousand yards close to eleven hundred for joe makes an on the ground over a thousand. For jomar chase t higgins having the most yards receiving yards of the great trio that the bengals will be sporting. Between jomar as t higgins and tyler. Boyd and tyler boyd yet again oh-so-close to another one thousand yard season always hovering around that one thousand yard market would seen and this would be very. I would assume this would lead to a good number of wins if this comes about and hopefully it's garbage time type of Type of statistics but this this would lead to some good. I would assume some successful games for the cincinnati bengals if things played out that way. So i just a little fun one a fun projection by. Pf let's talk some more.
