"They were able to play a game of football. After giant robotic panther slaughtered thousands. Yes that was very scary. Very scary moment All right jaguars texans so for. Let's give the texans. Credit eight crystal actually nailed it on friday show by the way. I think i saw some people saying that whereas warren sharp born sharp. We're trying to get him on later this year. The problem is he does have a podcast With the competing betting company. So we love warren sharp. All good we fucking love them. I talked to him about it. We're going to try to figure out a way No bad feelings or anything like that. We truly like him friends with them. Everything it's just you know. We're pushing out new states and we're trying to We're in a very competitive business right. So jaguars saxons pete. Prisco what i was going to say pete prisco nailed it. When he was like texans. They've got a lot of professionals. I forgot lovey. Smith defensive coordinator. They got a lot of professionals. They play professional football. The cats say these guys they get paid to play to yup okay on sunday there. Are they have pride in their jobs. So david kelly good job great job. Tyrod taylor good job. Haradh to rod taylor. Good job both of you. Good job and actually think that tyrod is the best quarterback ever that you can have on a shitty team. Yeah that's that's your guy. If you have a bad football team gets rot in there when you couple of games shouldn't yeah. He won't be that great but everyone expects you to lose anyways. That also might be your guy. But yeah what. Fitzpatrick true fitzpatrick. Well imagine. Imagine rooting. I ron taylor and the texans and then he could make some fucking place. Listen i i feel. I feel for texans fans because they were the butt of every no made by us and gloria going into this but surat is he's a. He's a nice quarterback dab. He's a professional. He's he's a professional. He's the guy he's the what do you call it. There was a movie about like a bad luck was a bad good luck. Chuck or the guy that you date before you find your ducks guy. Who jared goff jared. Goff yeah that's what tyrod taylor scott when you. You're looking for a quarterback of the future. Yes if you have toronto under team. The next guy played last year. People forget drug. Taylor's twelve months removed from like getting stabbed in the ribs by a needle. Yes which gave justin. Herbert is i start ever. Excuse me stabbed in the long. And then before that he was on the brown. Yes we're baker mayfield took over. So maybe whoever the texans in next maybe by the way that your that was chris collins worth in sean mcvay not me i love your yes. So trevor lawrence. Let's actually. i'm actually not on the trevor lawrence bust I'm in the camp of the jaguars are going to ruin. Trevor lawrence as starts urban meyer. Urban meyer Eleven penalties three turnovers and urban meyer. Remember how in the travelers didn't look good. Looked bad bust. In your mind i again i took it suggests. I'm more of the mindset that it's it's fun to say that is bus yet. Three journal hit three interceptions. He never had three interceptions at clemson. Never face adversity eclipse first regular season loss of life. Wow wow school call. Wow but my point is urban meyer. You spent all training camp splitting reps between trevor lawrence and gardner minhsiu to pretend the gardner meant you had a shout at the job. Maybe should have given the guy that was going to start all along your fucking franchise quarterback you went one one. Pick with maybe you should give him more reps. And maybe you should've had your team ready to play this. Urban meyer thing. I don't know yeah. They were bad they were bad. They looked bad. They looked undisciplined. And i've we've heard the reports that people are like yet kinda sucks to have to play for a guy like urban meyer in pro so who knows before the game started jason lockenfora and it is jason lock and for so as far as like trust was goes. He's like one step above your uncle on facebook right. He came out with a report. That below. your in yeah. Yeah exactly. Yeah the the stuff that they get into a fight chaucer. I trust my aunt. More than i trust jason lockenfora but i trust him more than around so he came out with a report that said urban meyer. Is everyone on edge and that vibes around. The jacksonville facility are at an all time low before the season even starts before week one and that everyone them already. I believe i choose to believe again because it's fun right to believe that it's true but that report is definitely out there. I could see like people were talking about how urban meyer was freaking out over preseason loss and probably already sleeping at the facility the and probably already like crews he's at least typed in web. Md into his browser. He's done the hotline might have hit enter on it yet. I just typed hustle and hydrate and practice. Which is always fun to tell professionals. That are making millions of dollars that they need to drink water and hydrate to go drink water. That's what chip kelly's downfall was checking the piss of professional writers. He can go back to ucla and look at all. The ernie wants all right. Let's go to the afternoon. Slate brown's chiefs so we got four more games. We'll get to the rest of the who's back and football guy that we can send you on your way. Brown's chiefs browns have one one.

"To quit the season after losing Week one. You know you're going to be upset if you lose tomorrow. Yes, of course. I'm gonna be upset if I lose tomorrow. I'm a Raiders fan, by the way For those of you that are new to Fox Sports radio and not like kind of a fan. I'm the type of fan that is impossible to be around when things are going good or bad for 11 years. It's been murder on. Yeah, poor already. I don't know how you've made it through because they've been so good during this run, but no, um, I think tomorrow night so fascinating matchup I really do. We'll get to it later in the show. The postgame sounds starting to roll in, so we'll Sprinkle some of that in before we go all in. At the top of next hour and then Todd Furman is coming up in about 15 minutes from now to recap the day in Vegas and kind of what caught his eye and we have some early lines on week. Two games, but Only there were three stories that dropped right before the weekend truly kicked. I shouldn't say the weekend Sunday truly kicked off, and, uh, let's hit these real quick and hopefully it's the last time we have to mention the Shawn Watson in quite a while. But what did you make of Jay Glazer's report that the Texans were doing everything they can to keep the Shawn Watson away from the locker room and away from the team? Yeah, but I thought he didn't want to play anyway. Now, if he doesn't want to play, what does he just want to hang around the team and just say, Hey, I'm going to be a distraction. I'm not really following this. I wouldn't let him around the team either. I'd say, um, don't worry about coming. Don't shoot up. We'll figure out What's going to happen when your legal issues are done. But for now, um, you remember this team, but we don't need you to shoot up. You're the third string quarterback. Maybe we'll trade you during the course of the season of any big changes, But for now, we're not worried about Yeah. And if you missed the report I mean, obviously, nobody thinks that he is going to ever end up playing for the Houston Texans again, right? I mean, I don't I don't think anyone truly feels that, but just Because Jay's money and I don't want to misinterpret anything that, he said Here was Glaser's report from earlier today on Fox and Fox Sports Radio. We love having John Fox writes radio on the Fox NFL pregame going forward. I don't see a scenario where Shawn Watson ever plays for the Texans again, and the wild part is Is he still working out for the team because he's still on the active roster, but they're keeping them separated from everybody else on the roster. They want us to be Tyrod Taylor's team lately They've let it be known that well, he Could be traded for three ones, plus A combination of three picks players. They already had that they had three ones and three threes going into the NFL draft. They had four teams who are really interested back then they said. Absolutely not. We're not trading them weren't taking any of the offers. I think that they really overshot their step in this so again, Uh, good, good stuff. They don't want them to. Take any of the shine away from Tyrod Taylor. And that makes sense. But Arnie, your dolphins keep coming up. In fact, there was a report today that the Dolphins were the team. I think Mike Florio reported it from pro football talk. That in made the big push, but their asking price was just too high. The Dolphins backed off. It's ridiculous. I can't believe there was four teams that were willing to give up three number ones and Three number two's, I guess is the way it worked out. I I find that mind boggling. Yeah, Crazy, especially in the situation that he said right now. So, um, no. When did this drop for the Sean had that dropped by the draft or no. Whenever he was in a bunch of trouble. I don't know the timeline of the idea someone but if it was before But even if it was before, that's a you're asking for all heck of a lot even forgot. That wasn't in some legal issues. Three number ones and three number two for this guy. I don't think I'd pay that. Well, A lot of people realize that franchise quarterbacks don't come along every single day. You just wait till you get one of the draft. Right? How's that worked out for teams? You mean like the Patriots? Well, we like the Bears one like San Francisco. Wait. Hold on, Arnie. How many games has Justin Fields played in the NFL? Uh, well, I guess we'll we'll be ahead of the curve and I'm going to tell you it's already going to work out for them. You can see that. Listen, there's more busts in the first round of drafted quarterbacks, and there are success stories. And if you're going to crown Justin Fields and Trey Lance is being better than to Shawn Watson. Coming in over your skis. I think even Matt Jones off one performance against the Dolphins and a loss. I thought Mac Jones look really. I mean, I could have given him an a minus in this one. So there is Shawn Watson. Story continues to kind of percolate the other story, and I thought this one was fascinating. This was from Jason, locking fourth. And you hear Jason on with Jason and Mike here on Fox Sports Radio Jason Smith. Um, and in my Carmen on Monday through Friday here on Fox Sports Radio, and the reports centered around.

"Help save our season and you'll never convince me that being unavailable in a critical juncture wasn't going through people's minds as they made this decision. So you think camp could actually be back there? If you know, maybe injury. It's not going to be because of poor play by Mac. Right? Right? I don't know. I've been. I don't know, like I don't know how it's going to go. I think the kid will be okay. But There's also been no feeding crimes E for Cam Newton. You know he's not everybody's cup of tea. Um He still has a lot of love and respect in his heart for Bill Belichick, and I think Bill Belichick Feels like they're you know, under certain circumstances could Cam Newton and a different style play give us a the best chance to win? A particular football game or a group of games based on who's available to us right now and who were facing mean. That's how they approach everything right? I mean, that's we had. They were bombs away offense. They were a run heavy team. They ran it through running back. They ran it through tight ends. They ran it through wide receivers. Any given week. Do whatever you have to do to win. So as long as Cam Newton is a free agent, um and there's the potential for New England. I have a quarterback need as sir. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility. Talking to Jason Lock of four. Now, you host the Daily radio show on the fan in Baltimore in the afternoons. Do you still view Baltimore as a Super Bowl contender even after the loss of J. K. Dobbins and I know they brought Levian Bell on the practice squad today, and we'll eventually seem on the active roster. I would imagine. Yeah, well, see, I think they're going to sign another running back as well. Probably a younger back with more upside and more versatility and some special teams ability because that's really where Justice Hill's value was in terms of replacing Dobbins. Nothing's changed there. I think you see Gus Edwards and Tyson Williams kind of take two guys to kind of fill that role. And Mr inside with Gus Edwards, Mr outside with Williams, who has a little more twitch and speed and burst. When they want to run out of that spread formation and and got you on the outside which Sprint place? Um, but they there's so much volume in that run game. That before Justice Hill went down, they needed to find somebody to put on the practice squad. Um, thought they'd signed two backs. I think one will be again. Younger, more upside, the other one of veteran to just bring in in case we need a guy to grind it out for a couple weeks, But I mean, love Ian Bell's gonna need time to get in shape You need I can't imagine the other back isn't going to be someone who's already been through a camp who's carried a decent load in that camp. You know as a backup because the starter wasn't really playing. And who they think could again. Give them some give them some value on special teams. Are you a believer in the saints this year? Jason looking for I am Even without not knowing what type of Michael Thomas you're gonna get. When he comes back. I think there are wild card contender. I do, um Sean Payton. Has the ability now to open that playbook up in a way that he hasn't had probably 2.5 seasons. And attack teams in all quadrants at any given point in time. Jamis. Winston hasn't had this kind of run game before. He hasn't had this kind of offensive line before. I think it's It's going to be solid. I mean, is it going to be spectacular? I don't know. But I think you're gonna have more quick strike ability. You're going to see their air yards per attempt sore and yes, that will that will lead to some turnovers. That's part of the the gamble when you start You know, attempting more low percentage passes, but I also think it's going to create more explosion. It's going to get people out of the box and open things up. Their backs, and I still think it's a solid enough defense. So Yeah, this would be a You know, there'll be some things available to Sean Payton. I just haven't been really the last couple of years, and he's looking forward to taking advantage Wrapping up with Jason, Lock of for how quickly do we see Trey Lance starting in San Francisco? I mean, I think you start seeing them on the field right away again, as long as his hand continues to come along, and he gripped the ball and throw it Properly. I mean, starting, it really will depend on how things go. I mean, Called Shanahan will be evaluating that process on the game by game and practice by practice standpoint and Um if At some point he feels like The greater upside of Lance. And the ceiling of Lance is just too delicious not you know to to ignore. Then he'll make that switch. Um But I, you know I don't They don't have a set date. I can't tell you one. That date is But there will be opportunities for Trey Lance to show his ability and show his work. From the first week. He's available to play and if he does the kind of things we saw in the preseason, then Yes, I think there will be a changing of the guard. At some point, it might end up being kind of like Miami. Tour last year where you know, you kind of give it a month to see practices and games and then even if the teams performing pretty well and I think most people would say Miami was outperforming some expectations. The first six weeks of last season at some point The superior sealing and the allure of what could be in a more dynamic with a more dynamic person running your offense. We'll probably carry the day. Last thing I'll ask you, Jason La Canfora is always great.

"He wasn't the starting quarterback and Look He wasn't available for critical period of time. And They made the decision that they think is best for their football team. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Camden's back there. In some capacity at at some point in time. Based on what Bell check seeing out of the team based on what he's seeing out of the quarterback. Obviously based on any potential injury situations. Um Think Bill Belichick still fixed very Highly of Cam Newton. And there's a lot of things about Cam Newton that he likes, but they're going to run their offense in a different way with a quarterback with some different skill set at this stage. At this point in time, and he beat came out. And I think that's that's really that and I understand what Bilbo check said, but I just think across the league You can't Special for backup quarterback where Your number One job is to be available right is to be available on a moment's notice at any point in time to help save our season and you'll never convince me that being unavailable in a critical juncture wasn't going through people's minds as they made this decision. "Smooth. Um Jason, locking four had an article today that you know if the Packers value or Jason Locke and four things were says then, and I don't know that they do. They might. Yeah. Then the Packers should be sweating a little bit here because it's in large contrast to what has been, you know position since Roger's got dumped from the NFC championship game, and obviously LeFlore going for the three is showing the six and then the two and then Baba Blah and Roger's loses to Tom Brady, and he's now one and four in the NFC championship game. He's lost four straight. He's 37. Even though he's gonna win the NDP. They just read that his replacement, blah, blah, blah goes on and on, and he was very candid, very honest, although in the eyes of some, including Jason, very orchestrated in what he said, and he's jumped on a few times with McAfee is buddy and he's He's basically tried to throw some water on those flames. But you know, Jason opens up a dialogue. That's interesting in the sense that you know, he believes, based on interactions that nothing about what Jason said with the coach around the NFL that assistant GM That he chronicles in this very good piece on CBS sports dot com that basically the Packers have never really won over. Aaron Rodgers is affection. Interesting point to leave. It is and then we alarm We remember this from a couple years ago with Mike McCarthy and even a couple years before Mike McCarthy's exit with the shuffling of coordinator or not, coordinated, really is like who's calling the plays. It just it was getting dicey, and you could feel it when you listen to Aaron Rodgers. You know, press conferences. He was always, you know, positive because I don't think he's a He's not a like a team arsonist or anything like that. But he was. You could tell there was like some passive and aggressiveness underneath the things that he was saying, Um And so when you get a new coach and mouth floor, then you go 13 and three like, man, we were Super Bowl viable. Right now we have a good run game. We have good old line. You know, we've gotten better and free agent Seeing defense, but we can be good. And then right After that, you draft a quarterback to replace him. Take dude. Wouldn't the hell are you thinking Green Bay Packers? But this is just history repeating themselves because they know how they mismanaged or miss. Identified Brett Farve desire to exit now. A lot of this was on far because he was talking about retirement. So they drafted in Roger's in 05, but he didn't start until eight. So he sat for three seasons. And it almost felt at the end like they were pushing him out, and it's like the Packers didn't learn anything from that. They're repeating it. You draft a replacement. Eventually you gotta push out the starter. Even if he's got game left, and Brett Farve certainly had game left. What made this interesting for me as I read Jason's Jail sees Article Jason Locke and fours article BT is that The NFL is a copycat league. We know this a cliche that you always hear, but it's also vicious. If they sense if a team since his blood in the water somewhere they are attacking, man, and so right now there are Probably a lot of head coaches, and it's certainly the one that jail, see it was talking to who he didn't identify in specific who will do anything that they can To go snag Aaron Rodgers. And so while yesterday we position this says he's not going nowhere. He just wants more money, which probably is still the case There is there is a belief that he could be had And if if, if that's real than teams, we're going to definitely come after Aaron Rodgers because they've seen what happens when you transition a star from one team to another. If it's a better environment, Tom Brady's in the Super Bowl with Tom Brady and in a few others with you, no lesser extent taking on a few others, no doubt because jumped around. Let me read this to you because the way Jason frame's this basically the first paragraph of the PC, he wrote it and then or he wrote something on social media. I guess Jason did. And then within minutes of that, his phone rang. Jason's phone rang. And it was from an area Cody to recognize picked it up. It was the way why would you Why would you answer a phone? If you didn't know I'd never do I never ever do now. I guess he's an insider. He kind of has to, like, Just take the shot. But you know what nonsense you get when you answered calls that you have no idea what is? I never answer my phone. I never do either. My wife calls May I answer it? If my son calls me on his little phone, I'll hand trick someone here, his voice. You know, kids. He doesn't have a watch yet, but you know I'll do that. If my mom or dad calls I'll pick it up. If if our agent calls, there's a chance to make more money, believe a picking it up, then. No doubt and that's pretty much it right or fly or if I have a tee time, But it's one of my buddies that it's in the neighborhood of when we're playing. And I think that maybe he got the railed. That's it picking up turn off calls or Yeah, I mean, but the phone rings 10 times a day I pick it up, maybe half of one that your average and mine go to message and it says Sorry, I can't answer my phone text me Instead, I'm more likely kickbacks. I know I've actually heard that Mean picking up with May I know the message you're talking about. All right, so, but I don't even call you much. I text you exact hate talking on the phone. Yeah, I'm not a big fan. I'm not a big unless I have to. I'm not a big fan of it. You know what? I used to enjoy talking on the phone when I used to dip when I was younger and college. I'd work like faded a little bit. She'll back then. Like you talk to you for two hours. You know, 17 18 years old. Great point, right? I mean in those days, but I got to lay the foundation right? All right. So here's the quote Tiki from the head coach, unidentified head coach quote. Everything you said is true, right? But trust me, we want in on this thing. It's never really been good between him and the coach has been a long feeling out process and it looks like it's over. Ara knows exactly what he's saying. And exactly what he is doing and quote from the from the head coach, one of 32 head coach in the NFL. I don't know who when it's one of them now. So I think that Roger is playing for the Packers. We've won. Absolutely do. I think that this story is interesting. I do. I fear that interesting too. You know to have that kind of attachment, quotes and you just protecting the coach. But obviously Jason's well sourced that is that's pretty pointing stuff right there. It just means that someone's gonna come after him, and so Now it puts the Packers in an odd spot because they now know that one they have. They're going to get there. Gonna feel calls for Aaron Rodgers. They should have known that anyway, though. Yes. They should have known that anyway. So they're gonna They're gonna field calls for Aaron Rodgers. Which think about that You're fielding calls for the guy who just want the M V P and they have to think about it. You know what I mean? So it's not like they have to think about this. They have to say, Will this position us to get Super Bowl viable without Aaron Rodgers in two years, right? They have to. They can't just ignore these these calls. And if you're if you're Aaron Rodgers, the best your urine win win. There's there's a loss here for Aaron Rodgers, because either he's going to get dealt to some place where he feels more desired. Um or he's about to get broke off on account. Extension cheese is gonna make him feel better. Right at the end of the day. You know if you're a couple extra 100, you know, whatever. Probably gonna be a dangerous six or $7 million a year. Like so $10 million.8 million dollars more a year round of what he's making out. So he's 25. Yes, so probably like 8 to $10 million more years. He gets that he's probably feels OK about being slighted like that..
