"Tom Brady has more, but I I know that you could bring in the Yogi Bear is for sure. We love Yogi. Bill Russell, for sure they've got They literally have more hardware. But you know, not to say that it was easier for Russell. But it was a different time. Excuse me easier to dominate the sport. Fewer teams far less athletic. You know, saying with Yogi Berra, they had the best team by foreign baseballs, and he was a part of it. But I mean, when you're the quarterback in the NFL and you win and you win for very degrees, but obviously the high degrees for for 19 years, right? And everybody asked the question over and over is that the coaches of the quarterback is that the system is that the quarterback is it a competent what? What is it? And the first year that you play away from the franchise that we always lump that question together in Their quarterback was the worst in football right? They've had the worst season they've had in in two plus decades, and the team that Brady goes to wins the Super Bowl. Yeah, it's it's crazy. What this guy does. It is, but it's also stopped fighting here. Here's here's Here's a contrary view, not contrary, but it's just a different tangent. By the view because I mentioned Jason Light. He's their general manager and think about the team that he put together. I mean, he drafted so well. Devon White who we've raved about this entire postseason, really his entire young career at this point, Winfield junior who got into a trash talking patch with Tyree kill thought up the peace sign because that's what diary killed them three times. Back in back in early November. You think about the free agents that he brought in? He traded for J. P. P Shack. Barrett, who nobody knew about hey, was able to get Tom Brady and drunk and a B But all of this talent there goes to you know, goes to the acumen of the head coach who expressed what he wanted and the general manager who went and got him. Now, I've said this many times and I've come to believe in this whole heartedly. You gotta have you got to have a Hall of Fame quarterback If you want to win a Super Bowl in some ways, doesn't it feel like because he did such a great job? Brit building this team? Jason Light that Tom Brady coming coming here after because he built the team that any good quarterback would want to go to, right? Yes, it doesn't feel like this is almost Tom Brady. Going the way of super teams in the embassy, because think about that talent right? The talent on this bucket Buccaneers team is exceptional. I mean, if Mike Evans keeps playing the way he's playing, he's gonna be a hall of Famer Gronk Hall of Famer Antonio Brown. We've had this conversation Hall of Famer. You look on the defensive side of the ball with J P P. Who's got to check these out a Hall of Famer, but he's got two championships. He's not lost in the postseason, obviously, at 11 year with the New York Giants, and now this season a shack Barrett Levante. David is a ton of like stud players on this team. I just go at Tom Brady, and that just makes it the super team. In a sense, it took them time to gel. But at the end of the day, and especially after watching what they did in the postseason, beating The Washington football team, but then in succession and and on the road on the road, exactly on on the road, but all of them on the road, But we had to dismiss the Washington technically, not on the road last night, but still but and I know where you're going with the quarterbacks. I'll certainly let you get the reason I really insert the Washington thing is because it's easy to say yes, but it was still on the road is still on the road. You're right. And so you go be Drew Brees and you go be Aaron Rodgers. And you go Pat Mahomes, all of whom were Super Bowl MVPs and first time that's ever Happened. It's in and they scored, 30 points a game every game, and so the way the bucks could have scored 40. They just took their foot off. Yes, and they got stopped one inch away from seven more points. That's exactly right. I scored 40 plus that they like both predicted that they would, and that's just the marvel. It's a marvel. When you look at this team, and so it zero. In retrospect, we look back on it, and it's almost like Of course, they won the Super Bowl because they have the best team in football from a skill position side. I mean, dominant Sue on the defensive line when you talk about him that much, even though he did have that one hit late on Pat Mahomes. This team is they're just good, and we just didn't want to admit it because they had some struggles, but with Tom Brady at the helm They rose to the top really, really quickly and really, really easy. Well, listen, it's it's challenging to Yeah, I'll just speak for myself on this. It's challenging to Not now. I mean today just Dole out the platitudes. And by the way, this isn't like you know, here we are coming late to the party if you didn't taking, I both picked with great conviction that the Bucks would win the Super Bowl. Not in September, but going into this game, so we weren't surprised by the results. Surprised? Kansas City didn't score a touchdown. Of course, everybody that watches and any amount of football. Nobody saw that coming. By the way, I should let you know we'll get to all the officiating stuff. Next segment. There's a lot to unpack there. I think there's some erroneous, you know, sloppy, lazy takes out somewhere on the money really flush through that and in its entirety next segment, But we wanted to kind of cherry pick some of the some of the obvious stuff here. I do think that Tom Brady was incredibly selective. We don't think I know. We know incredibly selective. Where can I go with pretty decent online? Even though we got hit more this year than he did with the past, But that's because they were throwing the ball down the field more, and that's an extra two seconds in the pocket. You're gonna get hit a little bit more. Pretty good running game. We know about their weapons vertically. Great. I mean, Godwin's there was a free agent. You got to retain him. But Evans is Evans is a whole the favor..

"Guess I mean, you could start with the officiating. Which to me is not nearly as big a story as it is, for some You got weak story The coaching with Bruce Arians and obviously by her left, which phenomenal, but you I mean, Tom Brady this This guy's not human, dude. Yeah, he's not. But it's almost It's hard to snow. Where to start actually be D because he is so good, But it's not even about how good of a player he is. It's more Like this calming Steadying demeanor that he brings wherever he goes, and you see this on the field. I'm sure this was the case. The locker room. You see it just how he carries himself after the games. I mean, obviously, he's polished and his taste 43 years old, So he has the story down, getting straight. He's got clarity. On how to handle these things. But I think that zoo really the truth and who he is, Hey, doesn't panic and we've seen this throughout his career. Beatty, no matter what the circumstances they were. They were showing a replay. I guess it was yesterday members two days ago over the weekend of his comeback, not come back, but game winning drive against the Rams. When you know he basically is dinking and Duncan don't hit the running back twice, and it's a tight and then it's a full bag of a sudden they kicked the game winning field goal. He's 26 years old at that time, and it was just a calmness about him, and now you fast forward to now, and you still see that but which is the greater accurate He's amazing that he's able to do this. It's such a great age. But there's so much credit to go around for this bucks team. No question that the players and obviously the coaches Jason Light, the general manager. He deserves a Tony credit fried put this team together and they outplayed and outcoached one of the best teams in football, and it wasn't a game really much at all Know there's a lot of branches to this tree. If you listen to this show, you did well in terms of the actual game because we both told you that the Bucks would win and that the Bucks would Would win somewhat going away. The GOAT Whisperer: The Man Who Lured Tom Brady To Tampa

"So greg first question. Where are you right now. I have met the media center for the super bowl which is in the tampa convention center. Kinda for all that around downtown tampa but is not quite busy here yet. So it's a little bit still kind of thought out. I'm sure in in forty eight hours. It'll be crazy here. Well greg sunday will be the first time that a super bowl is played in the home city of one of the two competing teams. What is the feeling in tampa right now. In the up to the game as you walk around drive around you feel a super bowl frenzy even in this pandemic couple days city is enjoying a run like it's never had. He had the stanley cup at world series in october. God and now. I think just making the boy. I would have been a big step for this team but see them win. Three road playoff games. And now be as you said in a super bowl in their own stadium. It's been a wild six months for tampa or to be sure we wanted to pick your brain a little bit about the guy who many people credit with building this bucks super bowl team. Gm jason light when he joined the bucks seven years ago. This team was more or less in disarray. How has he rebuilt it. I think he's done a very good job of drafting three touchdown. She'll back to this. First draft is fourteen. Taking mike evans been a pro bowl. Receiver has reset all the receiving records already. Big exclamation shows tied his own tampa bay record with his wealth reception for a touchdown this year. Tom brady just set the new fifteen two starting offensive linemen and their left tackle donovan smith and they're left guard alley pat and then really you look at the last three draft. That's defense has come. I think they have seven. Vincent starters that are from the last three drafts talent collectors. Were finding the right fifth buildings championship team. There's a veteran presence traded for jason pierre paul from the giants and hit on him and consumers thirty four and still a very high level the this is a good mix of young. It's really worth well. Even jason light was putting pieces into place. And you know sort of building the backbone of this team. This team wasn't doing particularly well and nfl. Owners of course are not known for their patients. So why did. The buccaneers stick with light. Even as this team continued to miss the playoffs year after year after year you go back to the end two thousand eighteen and then made the decision to fire dirk cutter coach dirk cutter. He is now officially relieved of his duties by the team. And in this statement. The buccaneers say that gm jason light will lead the new search. So that means light will get. I think in most situations they probably would have moved on from jason light his gm as well. He did really well in that he kind of pulled out an important card. And was there gateway to getting bruce arians. I gotta say jason's main reason. I came back in coaching and i knew how good of an evaluator was having worked with him. And we say we share the same vision workers in arizona in twenty thirteen adding when it came time for the bucks to be looking for a head coach. He kind of got them. In with bruce arians gave the bucks somebody that he knew and trusted. Having a head coach bruce. And the relationship that i have with him is it. I don't know if we'll ever be repeated. He's just such a unique guy. We have such a unique strong bond. That we we get along well. We even argue

"You know something that you know matchup that he saw a pre snap that he really liked in the Bear's got a one on one matchup on the outside. Might have been with. They were David Montgomery or something. Didn't they watch you write orders to Rico? Not heard at that point. Cole was hurt has already heard. I thought it was you. I think you're right. I think I remember now it was checked into something and made a big play late and move the chains. They might have got a field goal on it and expanded the lead a little Something like that. I mean, But remember, the the Bucks were winning 13 and nothing. Yes, and it was later into the second quarter, and it felt like the Bears had no chance. And then they scored a touchdown actually scored. I look at the back story. Now. They scored two touchdowns in the last two minutes of the second quarter, right And and and all of a sudden it was a different name, but it really felt like the bucks were having their way. With an injury depleted team, So I think that's probably part of why for Jason light, it felt like one that stung Do you guys believe in the hole? That's the best thing to ever happen to us, You know, like, Remember, I remember 15 years ago, 16 years ago. We had, like Sylvie never doing shows at night back then, but the biggest story in you know, 2004 into 2005 years was Illinois basketball, right? Right? And I remember like I mean, there's never been another time in my professional life working at this radio station, probably up until this year where we've been as invested in every Illinois basketball game because They do look like a final 14. They're very, very good. You and Bill self had a couple good teams to unfairness. But that year with Bruce Weber Like every game. It was almost like we were watching Bulls games like every game was debated and dissected, and we discussed it in the hole. Frickin state was like in an Illinois basketball in the talk was always do they need a loss before the NC double a tournament Do they have to have a loss before the tournament? And then they did the last game of the remember they lost in Ohio State, right? He still went to the championship game in laws. I don't know if it Matt one way or the other, but I mean, that was always the talking. Well, they need to get beat. They need to get humbled at some point, like Jason lights at Bruce Arians told him. Hey, we needed that two things gonna have needed. That loss like was two things can happen. You don't wake up for that loss could be one that propels you to further loss. And the way they responded, what he's telling you looking back at it now. That's the one we needed to kind of get this kind of situation straightened out the undisciplined play that they had. Maybe it caused a laser like focus within the team in each individual under team. I've been oppressed others into action. I buy it, especially. I buy it, especially when you're talking about undefeated. Like I think when you look back at the Patriots when they were 18, you know, and they lost the giant. That's another good example. You rightly believe. Had the Patriots lost in the regular season and then 15 and one day when I think they win that state in what would have been was OK wasn't week 17 against the giant and people were, Yeah, just call him very well and very competitive, forgetting about the biggest one. The Bears. 31 25 Super Bowl a five year they golf Anyone who's the Dolphins? Maybe you know it was a juggernaut for them in the playoffs. They had the big wash their They got humbled a little bit. It looked like the temple. It was gonna be there. You play three wide receivers. Four soldiers Wilson or Wilbur Marshall into coverage on the third wide receiver, you could find a way to go ahead, victimize him. I was too young. Do you guys believe that Had a dolphins beat the Patriots? The Dolphins would have beat the Bears in the Super Bowl. Oh, God, I don't know. I mean, there's a woman in that one offense that seemed to be able to counter that 46. But now that you saw it was remember, there was a weird deflection that popped up in the air came down in the hands of Ah, Miami receiver more wasn't so Yeah, there were. There were a few weird place that happened down there on a neutral site. I think the Bears would have been would have understood what was happening. There would have been able to adjust as they move forward. There you go. Right answer bears. Yeah, I mean, it was a bit of burying. It was a stunner. When Miami didn't get back that year to the to the Super Bowl they got except by New England. Sometimes it's not lost. But it's like you get rid of a guy. You end up. You know, you trade a guy. All of a sudden, the trading of an individual opens things up for you. They lost that game to the Bears. And then the next week. You know what game was the next week for them for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? It was when they paste that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and they were down 10 at home. They were down 10. Nothing in that game. Maybe it did. Maybe 8 10 38 10 down 10 Nothing. Game finishes 38 10. They basically had to pick sixes against Rogers. I mean, I say basically is one of them was to win the day scored. I mean, basically a pick six. So, Yeah, Maybe they didn't that they ripped off three straight after including two road wins after they had that humbling loss to the Bears. And maybe the most humbling part of it was that The goat. Is looking at the sideline going the game The Bears are celebrating is gonna wait, Wait. It's fourth down twigs. You can see us with our hands us down with four. You know that saying four because the fourth quarter started. Because Tom Brady and four fingers in the air go well, that was $4 like, wait for that's a Jason life. Forget about the game, The sun and I game against New Orleans, where they actually annihilated. I think the first game Antonio Brown was playing for Tampa again, but I think that's a lot worse. Lost in the bed, but I got destroyed. That were say they got destroyed by New Orleans in that game. Yeah. I think they know the ones telling the team. I think maybe it's got to do with the getaway. Everything to do with the opponent. 123323776 hit us up if you like. Also reach us on Twitter at Carmen to fella go in at your coat 64 for the good kid. We'll be right back. "What's up, Mike? Hi. Yes, Long time Listener. First time caller. My question would be do you think After seeing Tom Brady and seeing the level that he's playing that DD the Patriots regret not letting him sit in on taking talent. You know, because I feel like the Patriots brother could have been a lot longer and probably could have been more epic. After seeing Tom Brady picking talent and where you're going down in Tampa. Yeah, I think. Ah, yeah, I don't think Bill Belichick. Michael is, Is that kind of guy in terms of like letting Tom Brady picked talent, so to speak, Let's remember one thing, okay? He did get drunk to come in. And Jason Light. The GM in Tampa did agree to sign Antonio Brown. But let's be clear that I don't think Tom Brady said. You need to go sign LeGarrette Blunt because the gear blood if I'm not mistaken, and ship might be able to find this quicker than I could I do believe Lagarde. Blood signed like a minimum level contract or it was, you know a million dollars, and he counts it the veteran minimum with some incentives or whatever, like Antonio. Excuse me, Antonio Brown. I think a part of the I think the scary thing for teams in the NFC Was that Antonio Brown went to Seattle if Antonio Brown went to the 40 Niners if Antonio Brown went to the Saints If he behaves himself, he could make a big big difference. But that's where Tampa's got Tom Brady now I don't know if Tom Brady went to Jason Light and said, Yo, you need to sign this guy. We can connect the dots on that. But Chris God one Cameron break. Ronald Jones. Mike Evans. Those guys are still there. So let's not spinning around that Tom Brady is picking all of the talent. Ah, but look, anybody would love to have Rob Gronkowski walked through the door. He is a No rare walking the planet type tight end. So why do you think that is a little much? There's no question that, um and by the way, Bill Belichick did listen to Tom Brady. He listened to him. He heard him. That doesn't necessarily mean he did exactly what Tom Brady wanted him to Dio and I think that was a part of the divorce in the end. Because the one thing that Bill Belichick Always did first and foremost until his hand was forced otherwise. Was it was he wanted to manage that cap? And he wanted to make sure that they didn't have like they have now, which is $13 million in dead money left over to pay Tom Brady, who isn't even there because somebody decided to give him a sweetener on his contract last season. That's 13 million that essentially got whizzed away that they kind of made up once and player opt outs at right tackle in safety and linebacker with high tower, but be that as it may Uh, Shaka in Atlanta grass show, CBS Sports Radio One of Shaka Very gris. Thanks for taking my call Me Absolutely. Yeah, man, listen quickly. On Baker, Five intuition is awesome for him big picture there in the conference with Pittsburgh in Baltimore. So that's that's awesome there at Cleveland is right there where they are. I don't think there's anything else that you could expect from from that. Um, but I'm not talking to you, man. Man. You know, I'm seeing it on my TV brother. I mean, my God, I'm not even blaming Todd Gurley, stop somebody. We'll start. So you got a minute left. With the team with no timeouts. Stop somebody. Three care stuff. A wet paper bag. And you know, hurting. Yeah. Real shock. I really I'm with you. I can't put into words How unbelievably consistent they have been in blowing leads. It's really uncanny. Here. It's like Quinn has affected the whole, including that line. Including. You know our defensive leaders. Great Derek. Um, you know, Deveaux. It's unbelievable. I mean, we just have no what your hits, five minutes. You better grab the popcorn and you knocking. So are you. You're you know, you don't know what's gonna happen. It is. I just don't know what happened to the team that went to the Super Bowl. To this point and get rid of whatever. I don't even care at this point. May however, the terror down has come in shock and thank you, friend and look keep battling through. You know, Don't don't give up on your don't give up on your team and on your falcons, but It's I've never seen anything like it goes around comes around. Yeah. Todd Gurley, I was was not good, but you know, shock. It does bring up a good point. I had a six point lead with a minute to go. In fact, I think the win probability of the three games that they've blown They were. They were easily in the 99th percentile in terms of win probability, and they lost all those games. "I think he's gonna have some games we go. Wow. That was cool Brady doing it again. And I will be one of those guys. I know that I've I have shredded the Patriots for years, and I've become a noted national anti Patriots guy. And if you listen to this show, you know my angst over the Patriots success and just how much it annoys me and bothers me and all of that. But Brady is no longer on the Patriots. This is nothing to do with my Patriots animosity. This is only about what reality is, and that's that is When Brady does look good this year, it'll be fun to see because he is defying all odds. But it's not going to be every game and there's going to be pockets where you go, boy. That's ugly. It's inevitable. Okay, we should brace ourselves for Brady not looking like Brady at times this year. Which is why I think the addition of letter Fernet really smart one by the bucks. I really like this addition by the Bucks. I know that in Jacksonville that went sideways. And I know that Leonard Fernet feels like a bust at this point in time, because, as I said, for net was one of my favorite college football player to the last decade plus toe Watch. His physicality. It was so amazing Seeing into the open field, just sizing up defenders was such a thrill I loved watching, but l s u When he got Teo to Jacksonville. He was not at that next plane physically to just dominate the way that he did with the Tigers, so he had to 1000 yard seasons in three years. It was always izzie. Healthy is he committed is yeah. War with the coaching staff. Is he part of the problem down there? I mean, we know that with the Jaguars. They had all this potential and then squatted at the last couple of seasons. But was he effective? Abad quarterbacking Blake Bortles, the entry to Gardner Minshew last year, the entry to Nick Foles last year all of that. So I think that for net Having a dose of humility now. Will humble pie. The whipped cream on top. One year prove it deal. Within an organization that clearly has accountability in it. When Brady walked through those doors, expectations were different. So for net can't act up. He can't act the fool because number 12 is the quarterback in your huddle and he's going to demand more. Think that helps. But also you know what helps a 25 year old sledgehammer running back when Tom Brady's 43 That helps. I don't know how much good football shady McCoy has left in his body. I do think Leonard Fournette has plenty of good football left in his body in the right situation. For net gets to be your rock your pile driver. He gets to be the sledgehammer that pounds and ground down defense is and then for Brady to be able to with his savvy with his guile with his timing. Be able to take a few shots. I think this thing has a chance. To work to the tune of nine or 10 wins this year. But I think if 10 winds get you into the playoffs, don't think 10 wins wins the division with the Saints there. I think they're alive Team in January. And I just like the idea of a power ground game running back type. To be able to be your goal line guy and your short yardage guy and your change of pace guy. If the offense wants to throw, you have a guy that can run it and power run it. If you want a power running obviously of Tom Brady in that huddle to be able to sling the football, I think it's a really good edition from a style. From a fit and from what the Buccaneers need right now. They've got the passing weapons, but I don't know. You know, there's going to be moments this year where Tom Brady looks 43. There's just no doubt it's gonna happen. Cause if it didn't happen. What's what's the end of his career. Going to look like he's gonna play 60 if he he doesn't look 43 this year. Says he is he ever gonna look his age or he's just going to keep playing until he's 56 years old and still throwing for 4000 yards. Of course, it's goingto happen off course he's going to have to retire. And, of course, he's only gonna retire when he feels he's used up all the bullets in his arm. You know that. This is not a guy that is willing to walk away when he feels like he's got good football left. So this is just logic at 43 after what we saw somewhat somewhat last year. Knowing it's gotta happen at some time. "The news on the news. This is the third line news. So I guess it's being floated out there that Jameis Winston might be considered a bust the box of obviously moved off of him but GM. Jason Light still has high praise for his former quarterback we have a lot of respect for Janus Janus still part of our plan. If if things went a different route that a lot of respect for him I thought he did a lot of great things. Anybody in our office building would say the same thing. He did some spectacular. Thanks for us. I would never say that personally. I don't think I think I speak on behalf the organization that that he was a vast. I think he's got a bright future ahead of him. Don't at all. No I mean Johnny Manziel Jamarcus Russell Bust Mean Ryan. Leaves our buddy He he was a bust. Jameis Winston through for a lot of touchdowns. And I got to me is I get no pro- productivity out of you and by by year to everybody in the buildings out like Johnny Manziel year to like Baker Mayfield has struggled but this new staff. They're all in on Baker for at least sixty more games right so I don't I don't think he's a bust. I think he and Marcus Mariota won a bunch of games. Marcus Mariota one. More Games at Janus Janus was more productive so they both had value and also the college game in the NFL or different games. Just because you're not a great pro player doesn't mean that you didn't have a good football career and and Jameis Winston isn't great but we don't know where he's going to land next he W- we haven't seen.

"Lawrence. Here's Amy Lawrence humour brand new head coach is being introduced to the media and to their teams on Thursday, and these are the old guys, but you know, one of the themes here on after hours the old guys rock they bring wisdom and experience that you can't get just by being part of the Sean McVay coaching tree. And there is no shortcut to experience and wall. The NFL is going the other direction for the most part vote the Broncos and the buccaneers are stemming the tide and are going with the new head coaches in their sixties. What's old is new again? It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. I am so excited that Bruce Arians is back in the NFL as a coach I enjoyed having him on the CBS team. We had him on the show before the season kicked off. And he is a wealth of information. But he's. Calling is coach to be a coach at a leader of men is what Bruce Arians excels at. It's going to be a staff of fantastic teachers, we will have a large staff do things a little bit different and in spring when you guys come out OTA's, you'll see two practices going on because we'll have a staff that can take all our young players and get those forty to forty five reps that the veterans are getting you can't find a diamond in the rough of standing on the sideline watching. We don't know if a rookie can really learn the only gets three reps. So we're going to have those guys and we love young players. I love veteran players. But this is a great group. I think we have the core here to win quickly. I'm not about building about reloading, plenty of time to come up with a new plan to be ready to go when the opportunity presented itself because you know, broadcasting is not so taxing seriously, listen to this guy, if you're a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are you not ready to go, right? The second. Yes. Sign me up. This is going to be a new era for the bucks. It's after hours on CBS sports radio. He and Jameis Winston already have a relationship one. That goes back to Winston attending his camp. When when Winston was kiddo. So that's kind of neat and Aryan says he's fully committed to Jameis Winston that. There isn't a trial period. This isn't about deciding whether or not James can be the starting quarterback. In fact, Bruce said he should play with no pressure because he is the guy he just needs. Some more coaching any said James needs to be smarter. Again, the wheels already turning furiously for coach. Aryans as he puts his staff together. And he admits it was difficult to be in the booth because being in a broadcast booth even being around football is not the same thing as actually being in the trenches and on the sidelines. The thing I miss the most says I was in broadcasting if you haven't grown up in a locker room, you probably don't know what I'm talking about. But there's something about growing up in a locker room the bonds and the relationships that you build building a football team. The ups the downs. All the things that go in between. Probably is what is the thing. I love the most about the game. And then I missed the arena I'd be broadcast in a game. And obviously, I couldn't use the words. I would normally use on television. But the excitement kept building. Then when this opportunity came all the dominoes. I just like say the stars aligned. I'm so glad he's back. Jason light is his former general manager in Arizona. And so they are reuniting as well. And he tries to to explain what it is. That makes Bruce Arians. Great a coaching. You know, I think a little bit out.

"But if you want to get one more shot to see if the number one overall pick is gonna fly how about a guy that loves the downfield bombing attack. Bruce Arians, another proven tested guy, not bad it. It's a perfect match for Winston skill set. I mean, they showed I saw this graph. That showed what quarterbacks over the last six years have the highest area hards per attempt per season. And all the basically there were two players off the charts in those two players were Carson Palmer under Bruce Arians in James Winston throughout his career. And I think a guy like. Areas. Probably convinced them that he sees the good parts of Winston in in that he seems like a very football smart guy about ninety five percent of the time. And he makes some really crazy decisions. But he's still twenty four years old and has a ton of production. It's also a way for Jason light who worked with areas in Arizona to kind of this is his last chance I feel like they are on the hot seat right away. Because Jason light is on a hot see, and he's so tied to areas. He so tied to Winston that. Even though he's signed a four year contract. It feels like they need to produce quickly or else. This whole thing could get blown up in that is based on the track record of the bucks under the glazers. No one's change coaches over the last twelve years more than the bucks in the Browns. And they have not made the playoffs in eleven years. So I think the expectations are going to be but they should be high with areas and Todd Bowles defensive coordinator Byron left, which is a play collar and passing. That's a nice mix. Parents Todd Bowles and the bears are now they're coming after. So perhaps Todd Bowles has a decision to make and I'll say and we'll get back areas. But that's not an easy to sit bowls as a good relationship with areas. We know and they have some nice players Wes on that roster. Three tight the bears defensive coordinator job. That's good gig. But maybe the deal breaker Wes is that Reuss Aaron's is a late period Parcells year to year type coach at the stage of his life. Todd Bowles might have a ticket for the big chair if he can get that defense surging and then he gets shot. It's a tricky spot for bulls because he areas are tight, and I do think the bucks defense has more talent than commonly believed. But you could also be featured as the bears defensive coordinator, they can go on a Super Bowl run in Byron left, which could be kind of head coach and waiting to the way it worked really well way in which areas has built his coaching staffs. I think is one of the most. Regaining in the NFL. There are only two of thirty two coaches who are black and we're in an era where everybody wants to hire the bright young innovative mastermind on the offensive side of the ball. Offensive coordinators are ninety percent white quarterback coaches are just about one hundred percent white offense of line coaches are about ninety percent white. So how do you these guys get jobs? I think a guy like Bruce Arians has gone out of his way to hire minority coaches. He's thrust Harold Goodwin into the play calling role in preseason hired a female and Goodwin's joining him in Zona two and left. Now, he's he's allowing Byron left which take over the passing game. And I think this is going forward. I'd like to see more white coaches do stuff like this as an avenue toward getting some African Americans into these job. It's going to be a story once this scarce stop spinning we're going to be down to very few plaque coaches in the league. Where are we on that? Well, no, it's what west just said, exactly. There are a number where I is it down to is down to one the Bengals the some of the handlery. There has a chance to be the only team I think that has a higher the dolphins. Also, Brian Florence has been were captured to attach them pretty closely. So we are kinda waiting, but you're you're right. It's been a rough season for Africa coach that you mentioned. Exactly, it's the Sean McVay go find the next Sean McVay, and they'll in that pool of candidates is largely Caucasian in that..

"Tampa Bay joins us to talk about the bucks. Hiring of Bruce Arians. Let's talk style. I because I'm sort of fascinated by the idea that anywhere you might be. It'd be pretty excited to have a guy like areas come in with a high flying super powered offensive approach. Unless of course, you have a quarterback that tends to make terrible decisions. And then he might be terrified. Where do you think fans are sitting on this combination of areas in Winston? The swag is back. I guess you know, it it is kind of a dangerous combination. "With how his time ended with Arizona comes up clean comes out fine. The question is when can they hire him because technically he retired from the Zona cardinal still another year and his contract. It looks like all hurdles are going to be leftover. And it looks like Bruce areas be the next Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach James Winston, the young cornerback. And I will tell you the connection here. Jason light the GM of the buccaneers was in Arizona for many years with Steve time the GM of the cardinals. When you go to things like the combine the owners meeting, everyone just hang that, the big hang session. Bruce Arians got to know Jason light, very well, just from a social setting when it all came to be it looks like he will be the next quarterback. Jameis Winston or the next coach for that quarterback. Jameis win. Okay. Matt leflore one Tennessee way the playoffs without him there stance. Offense went down with him. He goes Darren Rogers, you know, he's been a coordinator. Once that's a big boy job, errands, thirty five and has. Strong point of view. What do you know about Matt leflore what are people saying in the league about the new Packer coach I've gotten to know Matt very well the last few years he was Kyle Shanahan's quarterbacks. Coach in Atlanta left to be Sean McVeigh's offensive coordinator in LA interesting thing last offseason. So McVeigh was the head coach leflore Z offensive coordinator the Tennessee titans. Say we want to interview Matla floors are head coach McVeigh's. Of course, you can go and do that. That's fine doesn't get the job. And then they say we'd like you to be our offensive coordinator. And in the NFL, you are not usually allowed to just take a lateral move. It has to be promotion McVeigh said if you can make some more money and call the plays there in Tennessee. I'm gonna let you out of your contract and go and work for those guys. He does that. And now is the head coach of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers one note on the floor 'cause I've gotten to know this guy, he is not a pushover. I'm at the table. A lot of times Kyle Shanahan in Sean McVay and the floors at the table, whether it be the combine or somewhere everyone's hanging and he can bus chops with. Those guys he could also talk Xs and os. He goes to Tennessee, where Mike Gabel is as I guess, I want to say alpha coaches, there is a former linebacker macho man guy that you really look at the dental side of the ball and the flora thirty eight year old guy was able to go head to head with him and voices opinion. I say all that to say this, Colin he will intellectually challenge Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Rodgers is not getting a buddy or do boy that he could just walk all over because he's only four years older. No, no, no. This is a guy who's going to challenge him in every day have something that's going to have Aaron Rodgers thinking. Okay. How can I step up to that challenge? I think it's a fascinating higher from this point alone. This was the only head coaching job interview. Matt leflore was given just one the Packers. And they were so confident that in the room this guy was better than gays better than mcdaniels a better fit than any of those offensive gurus that we're going to hire him as our first coach off the board..

"But I think it would be. Very hard to have a different feeling about James. He's not a quarterback that you really can trust in any aspect of the job. And so I just think that I think I would put this last even despite you know, they do have some young talent. But a lot of teams have some young talent. I don't think I don't think it's not so much. The James thing bothers me a little bit. But the one thing about James is he's not going to be your guy. Like he doesn't have to be your guy. Like you come in. You have no investment in them. So the team's gonna spend twenty one million on them next year. Right. But that doesn't mean they're not gonna draft one. And if there's one you really like that maybe you draft him. And now, you're pulling multiple levers, so maybe you fall back in love with James, maybe James miraculously grows up because he's back against the wall. Whatever maybe that happens. I doubt it maybe it happens. But I don't think James things is horrible. Because I don't think it is horrible. Some people think it is. Because I don't think in the last year of his contract. I don't think that prevents you from going and drafting one I think it's still draft one thing that bothers me about this job is that you've got a partner a general manager who's. Fighting for his job. And that to me is an issue because if things really go haywire next year will then maybe you're on the hook to because maybe then it's like, God, we gotta blow this thing up completely, you know. And so that's where I certainly see again like I've heard that they they want somebody to create some buzz because they've got the empty seat problem down there and everything else like so, you know, think that Jason light would let the next coach draft a quarterback. I don't know if it'll be up to him. I mean, if say they go get Mike McCarthy. Okay. If they will get Mike McCarthy could this turn into buffalo a couple years ago where Doug Ueli is the sitting general manager, but Sean McDermott it's really running the show. And then after the draft they make a change like I don't think it's impossible that we're gonna see some general manager changes after the draft. And I think part of that depends on who gets who winds up in these positions, you know. And so I mean, look by part of it was in buffalo was the ownership really liked Sean McDermott. Wow, this guy. Doing things a lot differently. And then over time they wind up making the decision like we need to get a got a pair with this guy. So I think that like from that perspective like good point. I think some of these, and it depends like, you know, you're gonna have some guys who are gonna come in. And you could have you could have Zac Taylor. Thirty five years old coming in. Right. And like you're not gonna let him pick a general manager if you hire. But if you, but if it's Mike McCarthy like now of a sudden, it's like you've got a Super Bowl winning coach in the building. And now you could be talking about something different. So that's just that level of instability. That's what bothers me. It's not so much James because you can be James can be gone year. Like that doesn't you're not you're not in your two or three with him. Like, you're already way down the road with them. It's sort of the instability the potential instability that bothers me there. Okay. Number five Miami. Here's miami. Just seems they can't decide six five six. They have really been able to decide what they're doing. Right. The last few years. They wanted to try to you know, work toward the olds mclovin enroll ball in not sacrificing seasons. And then Stephen Ross essentially said, you know, if we caps gays he would have wanted to try to win this year, and we want to start fresh..

"They didn't have a single winning season. Like when the Bengals called me twice during the draft twice. They were the laughing stock. They were like the Browns until the until the Browns this year. That's what the Bengals were like. Number twenty seven Detroit Lions. So if you look it's interesting because you really shouldn't be down here. If you have a quarterback like Derek Carr in Oakland or Matthew Stafford in Detroit now, I know the Bengals have Dolan. But he got hurt. It's not a good sign for Matthew Stafford that I have been this low. They did have a nice final season performance against the Packers. But I dunno. Devante Hampton play. Aaron Rodgers got hurt. Kind of looked to me like the Packers had packed that one in number twenty six the Buffalo Bills. Sure about that. Number twenty six the buffalo. Oh, my look at it the wrong week. I'm sorry. Number twenty six is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There you go. Sorry about that. That's okay. Three or right now. Right tampa. I am in Tampa. I'm staring at the field here at Raymond James stadium. Nice. So four Tampa my point would be another one where Dirk got fired not surprising at all Jason light gets to keep his job. That's a little surprising to me because I think he hired lovey Smith. And then he fired lovey Smith to keep their cutter. And he hire you know, he dropped the Jameis Winston which hasn't really worked out a Mets to to head coaches in a number one pick. I like Jason I like talking to him. But I'm just I'm surprised that pick Glazer family made that decision. I mean, ultimately the lesson here Bri for life or anything is make sure that the people. That. Matter the people that are making this season's make sure you have a good relationship with them..

To a football game they want to enjoy a smoke here in there after a drink we gotta step. Through exactly so, you can't. You can't smoke anywhere on the grounds of, Raymond James anyway Sins are anything what about. Outside the stay outside the stadium. You can right I would hope in the, parking lot come up to me and you know and friends while. We're partying because you. Know. The the little. Vaporizer pens the e cigarettes can't even have those in there Those sometimes the puffs, of smoke that come from those whatever it is Lot of lies I it's it's. It's insane it looks ridiculous to me I'm not even sad about that but like sometimes, I'll think someone has a rice Krispy treat. And get around the corner and it's just a giant, cloud of life To. Me it's less about it impacting me in any way I just think it looks stupid, when it's this giants puff of what is Those crazy Researches. Those. Obnoxious okay those aren't the ones I'm talking. Their games at Raymond James stadium there's been a lot of talk to maybe USF. Will have their own stadium soon doesn't sound like that's going to be the case at least for for quite a while Look I I think the Ray j. part is fine my question to Noah was and he didn't have a great answer because we had him on about this on PM Tampa Bay earlier in the week was what is the transportation. Situation like because one of the things? That came up is that sometimes Raymond James stadium isn't as filled up as they'd like it to be? Because a lot, of students at USF, can get there and USF is becoming more of a campus where people live. On campus some people from out of state than on the car so what. Is the shuttle transportation situation could that help get more people from the campus to. The game days to bolster the attendance on campus so you know around the surrounding parts Apartments that's what I did, when I went to USF was I lived off campus, on apartments right around, right around the university so so if you're going to keep. It at Raymond James stadium and you want to. Get more people there is that a way that you. Could improve things untold eventually they do get. A, stadium on campus maybe a little but like it's more the inconvenience, of having, to go from Fowler wherever I never that inconvenient when, I went there we? Went to, all the games it wasn't that big of a deal but. I, but I could see if there are ways. Where you can shuttle more people there quickly and easily than maybe that could help a little bit you never gonna fill up Raymond James stadium at a US football game or the? Kids? Could just wake up from their dorms walk down the street put, on a pair of crocs and go to the game let's let's take it one step at a time let's make it easy as possible for these college students that's what we're trying to do coming up next we'll cover some of the top stories.
