"You gonNa do is go yesterday. throughway what looked like an easy win in Miami a victory would have drawn the Eagle's even the cowboys atop the NFC East but now they're five seven seven and remained in second place but back in week six the jets were own four and coming off three straight losses by at least sixteen points when they took on the visiting cowboys and emerged with a twenty four twenty two win so Shannon one of the worst loss bagels or the cowboys. I really hate. I really hate. Do you smell. Yeah I really do but you force me to do this but I really didn't leave me no choice you for your idea. Cowboys cowboys had the worst loss. Because actually the dolphins they've been pretty good. They've won toward the last four ballgames but when the cowboys had lost to the jets the jets had just lost four streak ballgames. Their quarterback was coming off mono he weighs seventy eight apparent time but again it will he did come back for the game seventy eight. It wasn't Luke Falk. He had model he had missed the previous three and a half four four weeks. Give it to me of course. Of course everybody looks and after that they lost three straight win one game sandwiches ain't game span. They in one game against who they be. They beat the team. That pro football focus and plan for player roster full roster is the most talented roster all the football and the Jeff took him down to at least walk into them. Because they've got. We put thirty one on the boys. I mean not good enough to hold up. Twenty two little measly was you did You know you the whole team that lost by twenty five eagles. And they're probably other that'd be the cowboy Albouy. They turn right around and low thirty three to the Patriots team that took you. That happens to a lot of a lot of a lot of the parcel of land. I don't know what a lot era a parcel of land in this situation. Talked about the jets. beat the cowboys. The cowboys lost to the WHO they potentially get a number one number one overall pick they close it out. I wanted. I wanted to take the jets. Gay just one four games. They're four and they beat you guys. The dolphins are three nine now. Four nine three nine. This isn't even close. The eagles loss was way worse than I know it. Domino's Dallas was a seven point favorite at the jets. You guys were a ten point favorite at Miami. But you've been favoring the whole year so we have been favored the whole we are the dogs that New England. What does that mean? You were much bigger favorite three more points. So here's what happened to my team at the jets. You lost close if you might recall. I didn't have either star tackle for that game. I did not have ties Smith. I did not have Lyle Collins so Greg Williams the coordinator defensive coordinator for the jets that I am coming after you with everything. I'm throwing kitchen sink at Dak Prescott and I swear he got hit on every drop back that that day and did he have his number one receiver. Hope he did. He had him for one play because he caught one ball for a grand total of three yards and Amari Cooper said. I'm out the heart of a thigh bruise New England what it was and he took him out so he took himself out of the game and that elevated Michael Galloped to the number one receiver and he proceeded to drop not one or two he dropped three Dak passes that day but remember. The Eagles were completely full strength. They had all they complement or receivers back for going to Miami so they are way better shape than my team while y'all got y'all had back who should be the MVP. That's what Clarence Junior writes. Every we audacity right. Yeah Bill Barham Wilson. I can make a case okay. y'All got him. y'All got zeke Elliott. y'All got D low making twenty seven seven million dollars a year in jail Smith. Okay Joan that we didn't have the two star tackles to huge losses at the jets and yeah. Ah quarterback brought my team from twenty one to three Philly denominational. Philly was up twenty eight to fourteen new third quarterback Philly just gave the game. Well how do you get now. I want to know how you get down. Why will you even down one to three? Because my defense failed off. darnold through one hundred seven yard touchdown. Impasse I've never seen before. It went out hundred seven yards. Straighten your deepest failed to show because your offense points in the first half and you down twenty one three but my scores. Twenty of twenty eight fourteen and the deep is allow five in the next six possession but wait you always asked me. This did finally get the ball in there. Is it make it take it in these old. I'm trying to figure out what that was doing. The first half what would he do. Oh he was struggling because we couldn't protect him I just told you didn't have either starts out. And he didn't have his number one receiver yet and still. He brought them all the way back from a twenty one to three hole down to a two point conversion to tie the game to go to overtime. Jason Jason Witten Jason Wit. Right in the hands he ryan the hands and it was a mugging tackled for mine by Marcus than we have a hail out of Hail Mary the caromed off off the hit the guy all right hang up saying when it through the Hail Mary in the end zone while we them out shot the ball a little bit he did not have the ball. Alshon did not tug. Yes yes he did he did not bounce to them just threw up in hit the dolphin right in the British. Have you noticed. It didn't hit the ball bobble search first of all first of all you know my guy he got to the end zone. Your guy came up. Short of the end zone touchdown to begin with which. What are you talking about the Hail Mary Heathrow in New Orleans okay? So what seventy yards walker. Okay I'll give you that. Walk into him as a much stronger than Dak Prescott. Unfortunately it's wild. Hi It's why low it's wild right wide left skew. Your team pro. Football focus deal says at six and six you have the best best most talented roster of any team in the NFL and you lost to the jets would a quarterback at just come up model okay and your team went with the NFC east right in its palms thanks gave it to student and they went down to Miami. That's the worst of the year in the NFL under the circumstances. That's the worst you know when I was certainly the most shocking outcome of the year in those shocking yesterday you know ramp is Patrick can have these type of games. Seen Him. Raza is up and show okay against that defense. That defense I thought was really good. I'm Darla was playing against your. Yeah okay he played great. He's had four. They won three in a row. He was really good nose game. How they got thirty wasn't the only the only thing the only thing I will give you this? This laws hurt more because it came late in the season and what was at stake. But this was not a worst loss in what you got the cowboy with that You told me that he'd be the MVP discussion. What did you not hear about neither tackle? And you don't have a Mario Cooper that's going to be about the great players that overcome. Well he did know overcame. Flags had flown in the end zone. We'd be we wouldn't be having this right. It of the defense that showed sold up. We wouldn't be having this conversation. Walk into the game with twenty eight fourteen minutes it. We're pledge card and Brandon. Graham Garden Point favorites. Yesterday is a a disgrace. What happened this great not favored by seven? Okay what happened well okay. So we lost twenty four to twenty two. You gave up up twenty three unanswered points in the second with did to my risk or thirty one. You'll could only muff punt punt punt through the second half you could only muster twenty two points. must he can muster any points in the second. I've got scored three after the touchdown against eagles. How many touchdowns do you.

"Until they until the defense proves that there's somebody not that you can't run at just run it. I liked that. I liked what I watched. The Seattle Oh game and I watched live the rams game ever watched the all twenty two from that Marcus. Williams is also a guy that gets a lot of attention as a free safety he obviously is known for the big play against the Vikings a few years ago where he went for the I don't know what he was thinking but he gave up the big play that advance the Vikings in gained. It looked like it was already over. He's the guy that I think that he takes us a little bit. doesn't have the the range. I think a lot of people thought HE DID COMING OUT OF UTAH and than he is a big gambler so this we've seen this Kella more offense run a lot deeper post. Some double moves attack the middle of the field a lot deep. Keep down the field. This is a game where maybe they can go at a guy like that. That is a little bit of a gambler. We saw them run those double posts in the red zone last last week with Jason Jason Witten in Amari Cooper kind of given the safety a tough decision to make whatever decision he does make the go the other way so interested to see what this passing game does this week with with a guy like Marcus Williams manning the middle of the field with Marshon lattimore outside Do you think that they're going to test the waters deep like they have been or maybe scaled-back back. Take what's underneath and try to pick up some yards after the catch and go from there. I don't WanNa see this team. Stop throwing the ball down the field so I would like it now. I do like Marcus Williams. I think a little bit more than it sounds you do I'm actually a really big fan of his now like you said he's known for a couple bigs snafus defensively but I think over always good player and he's somebody who he might not have the athletic profile while but he does make up for that with his anticipation and his ability to drive on the football that you've seen that with some of the interceptions that he's made in his career so far this his one interception that he has this year was one of those plays where he just showed a little bit of range that you're you're right from an athletic standpoint. You don't think he's GonNa make but he gets on it so quick and understands what's happening now. When it comes to a guy like a Devon Smith that is something that you can take advantage of down the field if Marcus Williams is going to kind of stay square to the line of scrimmage. I mean he's going to have to open up quickly to be able to carry somebody like Devon Smith Downfield and it's it's not like Dat can't push it because that throw that he had that was almost intercepted last week. It went sixty two yards in the air. This is not the Dak Prescott of old. The Dude is chucking and that pass if there was no safety they're Devon Smith would have caught in stride so I don't WanNa see them. Stop pushing the mall downfield three four five times in this next game why why not take your chances and this is what I said in my piece that I wrote for my website when it comes to Dak Prescott is yes doc. Prescott made some not so great mental until choices in this past game but those mental choices that he made pushing the ball downfield that throw across his body trying to make a play Randall Cobb Bob. Those are the kind of place and mistakes that you're going to have to live with when your quarterback is going to take shots down the field. You cannot have your a cake and eat it too. He's GonNa make mistakes trying to push the ball. Would you rather have a playmaker or would you rather have a guy who loads up and and then decides I'm not sure about that. Window doesn't throw it and takes the sack and that's what we have to ask cowboys fans yeah. I mean that's that's. The biggest takeaway from these first few weeks is you can't you can't hype up the Plaza Dax made when he's extended plays and made big chunk plays down the field and you know tested the waters deep down the field in completed passes that you normally wouldn't and then you can't kill him when he does make a bad reed bed decision and throw pick like that you just like you said you can't have your cake and eat it too. That doesn't work that way. That's just being hypocritical and you're riding the fence and it's not you know it's not fair to him. It's not fair that team for you. Sit there and judge the decision making or shots being taken and then you know when they do hit on three later in the game the game you can't hype it up and be like. Oh my God. This is incredible so you either got to be against it or with it and with it. You have to understand that there are going. GonNa be some some place like that that you're going to throw the ball. You'RE GONNA throw the ball of the other team here and there but it's worth it when you're hitting on right now a high percentage of them and and you're not risking football much at all so I like everything I'm seeing from his offense right. Now I think this week they have really good chance to go at Marcus Williams Marshon Lattimore to go at Eli Apple through the air and when this football game again through the air and you know when they need to maybe late in the game they can turn the run game and and pick up some yards and maybe get a score and I think that's GonNa be the the way this this. This week goes but let's go ahead. Let's go ahead and give give our score. Predictions and give are X. Factors where this game we'll get outta here. We'll talk to you guys next week dot and I'll let you start it off. Yeah so I'm GONNA stick with a man I think they're gonNA continue to score thirty plus points. Even though I sat sat here and I talked about how good that defense is I think that if Dak Prescott can put together an entire football game instead of starting starting off a little bit slow as he has in the first quarter of these football games. I think they're going to score thirty one points and I think that they're going to hold the saints two to seventeen or twenty one point so my official is going to be thirty one twenty-one cowboys. WHO's your x factor in this game. Oh my ex factor in this football game is going to be cheetos the he needs to be. That's the only reason why is that he needs about Chino just needs to get his confidence back and it's kind of weird because Tito when you hear him talk when you hear him especially when he's interacting with Jordan Lewis those two are both extremely competent dudes but it doesn't look like it out on the field now. I hope that Jordan Lewis is the X. factor because that means he actually played snaps. We're going to talk about that at some point this season but it for now. I'll let it go. I'M GONNA go the cowboys winning thirty five to twenty five warning wow. I I think that I think that it's going to be a late these last few games. It's been a it's been kind of a dominant performance. Mitch from the cowboys offense. They've kind of in the last six. They benched back in the first week one and week two they were up a decent amount against Washington and kind of slowed down running the football aw gave up elites quarter redskins than last week against the dolphins. They also slowed down. A lot ran the football a lot. I think this game's going to be closer coming out of half. I think you're going to have like a fourteen seventeen game coming out of half and then you know the the cowboys office clicks in the second half the cowboys defense events steps up in the second half and they put up points and they hold the saints only three after halftime or six after halftime. Excuse me aww field goals from real lots and I think that it's going to be a thirty five twenty game thing. The cowboys pull pull ahead late. I think that X. factor is going to be. I'm going to go out. Oh I'm gonNA give you too because my first one's going to be on Austin if he plays because I think he's GonNa make an impact in the kicking game. I think he'll get some snaps on offense as well and maybe make a big player to like. We saw him last year but if he doesn't play I'm going to give you another x factor and that X. Factor is GonNa Tony Pollard. I think he has another game similar Lord of what he had last week. Maybe not as many rushing yards but he catches a few more passes. They use him in that that role man winner. They're going to start throwing him. The ball well a bunch. We had two catches on three targets last week. Yeah I mean this is somebody who I legitimately think that you could give five to seven targets a game and I think this is a game that you because there's the really hasn't been a reason to do that so far. You don't want to shy you're right. You're right you're right. This is the game where we saw it a little bit last week where they put them in. They ran that you know the the swing pass to him and they threw it to him on a screen. I think this is a week where or you're going to see. Zeke empowered in the backfield and shotgun formations. You may be some some actual routes ran from those guys. Maybe some Texas routes and I think this this is a week where Tony Pollard if Tehran Austin doesn't play as a big game catching the football getting some carries to and making some some some some good strides on the ground as well so we both have the cowboys win and we both have the cowboys improving to four no and that would be you can I can. I tell a really cool. Well Story About Yeah Tony Pollard quick so I was looking on twitter today or yesterday. I can't remember when it was in Jim. Nagy the the senior bowl director congratulated Tony Pollard for his first one hundred yard game and then told the story of how his people people Tony Pollard's people wanted them to bring him to the senior bowl as he ended up going what they wanted him to go to the senior bowl as a wide receiver and they said no we want him there as a running back so we might not even have Tony Pollard. If he goes to mobile as wide receiver Yeah Yeah I saw that the other day to and thought that was really cool because it almost sounds like he was dead set going into the NFL L. draft looked at as a slot receiver not a running back so that's that's pretty cool little tidbit that really you know like you said it makes you think that if he didn't the senior bowl running back or the cowboys thinking about drafting him in the fourth round and I'd probably say probably not after they signed Randall Cobb and traded for Amari Cooper. There probably not spending a fourth round round pick on a on a developmental slot guy. That's really been running back. Slash Lot guy so yeah. That's a cool little cool a little bit of information there from Dalton and that's all the time we have for today. We will see you guys next week. After the cowboys hopefully cross fingers knock on wood beat the saints on Sunday night in in New Orleans as they try to improve before thanks so much for listening guys. We are talking star. We'll see you guys next time..

"Yeah. I have a couple of other names year. <hes> i have a bunch i mean i know how deep you want to go. Take care guys both place yeah. He might nightside touchdown against the bengals and like michael gallup is someone that i feel like i've neglected because i guess there's some buzz on michael gallup i actually this is an interesting matchup for him. Against that's the giants they have janoris jenkins who could do a pretty good job at amari cooper but then like they're probably starting a rookie at their second corner and if not just the they're going to be a a little weak second corner probably but people seem to like michael gallup. I'm surprised he's sixty two percent because i've never even given a thought about drafting him. What are you guys thinking about moving them up in the preseason. Let me look at and the problem is is that there are a lot of mouths if either if if jason jason witten has <hes> you know his usual role in in randall cobb does anything but you know he's gonna get covered. I i kind of you him. As terrance williams no he'll have some some big weeks the disappears you know when the cowboys had does and jason and demarco murray well. We're gallup like goodwin. Metcalf and brown are all owned and fewer leagues than gallup. It's very very close but yeah. I mean i think he's i think he's a little over owned and if there are any other guys speaking our peace i mean the ravens guys. You know i mean you you. Can you say all four ravens guys. That's because they're all they're all available boykin brown more if you want them those are on the lesser scalp but boykin says sixteen sixteen percent ownership marquees brown is at twenty eight percent ownership. I mean the free space against miami. Pick one boy boy can make sense damian. Amien willis was also on my list. Gonna start at receiver for the bengals. They're gonna chase points all right tight end. I will d'isly and he's the the only one for it's funny. You say that i have like eight ends on writing about. He's the only one i wrote for week. One what about whitton i mean he's a hundred dude years old. I know wall not for week. One this dream as a streamer why not against i thought that was kinda struggled against tight ends. I thought that was there issue. Yeah i'm not trusting. How are they going to love her him. How do they cover. How does anybody cover this guy. I'm so excited about him. I'm sorry that's awesome. <hes> the broncos last year they were ninth worst against tight ends at the do a little digging there <hes>. I just threw out tomorrow. Angie over vance joseph jeff swam aim against kansas city. <hes> is he playing. I don't know yeah mark andrews and miami sure he's he's a top fifteen or for me. Yeah i think he was to own the okay and then d._s._p.'s is easy like bengals thirty nine percent. I love the eagles fifty nine percent you singles. Y'all bengals you don't want to say is available. In thirty two percent leases you just over threshold. I look okay yeah. I mean like eagles. Cowboys seahawks the lions in deep league right busy. Eagles seahawks hawks lines are are the three for me based on eagles seahawks lions eagles fifty nine percent seok thirty nine percent lions nine percent. Who's your favorite eagles..

"He did things that we hadn't seen him do in. That's what we're looking at now and that's what he's in hopes of is now have actual receiving core anna jason jason witten that may not provide production but he's there as a sounding board to make sure everything stays together. I think back prescott is worth and he's gonna have great. Let's also so throw this into it. What about the running back okay. So what were you guys. Were had had the stats if he had twenty touches or word twenty-five carries the cowboys since zeke's arrival were winning a percent of their game something like okay so it's a big number number right okay so worse he right now. He's not there and now you know so it's complicated. It's not as easy thanks for joining us jeff fisher coming up next anthony davis to the knicks but he hasn't even played a game with the lakers yet are vital topic of the day anthony. Davis hasn't even played a game for the lakers but could he already be on the way out the new york post reports that is agent rich. Paul likes the idea of a._d. Eighty signing with the knicks neck summer if the lakers implode last month. He said he'd consider applying for the bulls rob. Is this a bad look for a van. Look come on. What are you doing again. He hasn't played yet. We stop talking about other teams. If you know what just because they ask you a question greg doesn't when you have to answer it thanks john from chicago. I like the pizza speech in new york. I love the subway well you. Don't you don't think he you should be telling everybody he's gonna go to the okay. See thunder ryan any of this is a bad look simply because you haven't put on the uniform i get it if if the lakers implode that's a big if two huge that's a huge if but i just don't like when you are drawn to another team and you're talking about how excited you are but then you're you're distracted by talking about all these other teams. Just stop it and just focus on what the task is. Davis is not going anywhere anywhere. He is one hundred percents bad of a look though it is it is because he hasn't played there yet and i'm a laker family knicks you name it. You're you're not even here yet nobody wants to can you like play here. You lebron s. three years love. This is what you're talking about. You shouldn't be thinking got kuzma. They got who's got a lot. I mean i just. I don't think it's it's everything everybody has their own strategy of just in case taste strategy but if i am very teammates or if i'm organization if i'm in the upper management i'm like look just focus on what we're trying to do you just coming in get them develop a rapport talk laker. That'll be it for us. We hopefully we'll be back tomorrow morning morning. At nine thirty coming up a colin tells you why vegan just as bad now. Thanks for listening to the undisputed podcast. "He does not have the suddenness to handle so he's not the answer. He really never sudden sudden. He got the runs downhill but skill when you look at the we know zeke's a bill called back for the simple fact he's led the league in rushing twice but i believe that he's worked extremely hard on his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield so now that's an added bonus but one thing that goes unnoticed boy running back that barely gives talked about into you you quarterbacks get a helmet and it's backed undestand the running back blitz pickup and you take that for granted. He missed one even don't give this one skill. You missed one of the regular season and that's bonn miller of khalil mack. Guess what happened your back. Who's your backup okay. Tony pollard has not been asking his life to do you make them up. You will figure it out because he is proven already to be extremely mix it up very often jojo. Although they've been practicing for three weeks they played a preseason game. Why did he picked it up. <hes> make up for what was he got him out of second twenty to jail. No once you get your quarterback hitting the bad you don't make that updike's gonna tell you what until he figured it out because he's figured it out on my time. Guess who takes that point. I have been <hes> shannon. I'm sorry to inform you right out of the boxes. We should return from vacation. You are in trouble is i. I feel very good. I feel very good because i won't thirty four million. One hundred million you ask does my quarterback look like he's crumbling under the pressure to live up to that kind of money that he's about to give so. He's dinking deck and you say but he's nine for nine in. Could we see what he did on the first third and seven the overnight right after the first tony run wait a second. What is the back shoulder. Throw right on on the money. And what did i tell you about michael gallup. He can get deep and you said oh wait a second for the last eight games last year. Your dad was fifth in the league near far. He threw passes. I love. I love how you call for one bid way. See that again detail what i got. I got a statement to make for a quarterback who can't throw dot can sure throw. That's what that's what. I tweeted that i love. I love how you take an isolated incident and you try to make it in current. Yes yes he did that in the first decade and we all know this okay. What about the other the eight okay. We'll call for another one third and sixth third down conversion at the rams twenty four. I'll guess guess who guesses back. Jason witten is back. I walk by who could outrun shannon shaw barefooted. I'll run you better look if he pushed off and look at look at the db db. It's really skill why why would you why would you continue pillow. Will the last time jason jason jason witten ran a go route from a flex position really demands run i and he was he was against detroit and a playoff game that they stole. It and jerry were followed the w twenty exactly exactly yeah so skilled skill. Look i understand what jerry's doing and what you try to do with these young guys coming in and if you're gonna count on them skip you try to build confidence what the coach is one thing players that are made a really good job the head coach position. You're doing good but the owner when the owner comes out is they have dif- kid really has has this kid is really showing me something that gives him confidence jerry joel without all his mind if he thinks that kid can do zeki lillian can this. This is not your typical backup back. After he is not he will contribute as a one eight. Zeke's body was so good. They should've took okay. Why did it take him in the second round well. Why didn't the patriots tom brady and the first exactly because they didn't know what the hell okay well who can know and then suddenly you get your new toya..

"Game. I mean he does step up into that role. Now the first four games you start presumably zoom ably without golden tate so i think sterling shepherd is just. He's a fast player. That's being drafted as the wide receiver forty two right now completely unwanted wanted you don't really care about the giants offense and yet he could be the number one wide receiver for an n._f._l. Team that you know if you're in a p._r. Half-point p._r. League he's he's going to have relevance on a weekly basis and i mean honestly i don't. I don't think i even mocked drafted him a single time. There's just you know when you're in those those rounds. You're swinging for the fences and you know you're you think the the the ceiling is limited for sterling shepherd but the reality is he will be relevant on a weekly basis. It would be nice if the giants gave him a break because of the current hand situation because he's on the field diving around with a brace on his hand. It seems like not the best idea for this assiri training camp. You don't have backcomb the name cody. Latimer adema seems to be starting on the other side of the field. I'd like to have shepherd around but he's definitely fantasy relevant name. He just comes with the grimace of giants offensive players right. I have two two names the first one i'm not horsing around here <music>. Thanks mike horse ores laughing michael gallup of the dallas cowboys. Yes i've talked about well. Mike's talked a lot about the inconsistency of amari cooper disappearing disappearing more often than appearing well. There aren't a lot of other pass catching options in dallas and michael gallup flash at times last year. Cole beasley has gone jason. Jason witten and randall cobb just got out of a luby's. I mean yes. That's a good job bodied old people and luby's for that matter. I like movies listen. Do they even still exist. I used to be remember meeting my grandparents. They're at three refit fifty in the afternoon for dinner. Grabbing your cafeteria tray but the thing is. I like killing more sponsor and the offense. He's going to let dak prescott throw the ball. Demorris more is not all going to go to amari so if you like kellen moore in the offense moving forward. You talk about all the different names. They're my problem with the competitive. Situation is simply the fact that i think the ball's gonna be spread around a bunch of different players not named george kindle and it's just kind of a mess jordan mathews is there in deebo samuel in jalen hurd in trent taylor will come back in you know you have buzz on richie james and if pedestals and established himself you know who is established marketing and this is a player that had <hes> just under a thousand yards in two thousand seventeen was jimmy. "All right. We are back. And in the last segment, we talked about as Elliot. And the fact that the NFL was going to be investigating his situation in, which we had at music festival in Las Vegas. We also talked about the Dallas Cowboys and the fact that. Jason Garrod is under a lot of pressure. To actually make the Super Bowl. It's pretty much Super Bowl or bust. And so with that and talk about the Dallas Cowboys, we're gonna talk about a few things around the league, but we're going to stick with the Dallas Cowboys because of the fact that. We're talking do so far doing OTA's. You haven't really seen Jason Jason Witten at OTA's. He is there. He is practicing. There hasn't been much video of him out there, but everything that we are hearing is that the players and the team has been super super happy with Jason and that the Cowboys are being super cautious with Jason, they're not trying to get him to get out there and do too much too early. It's more about it's kind of like he's on a pitch count. They, they don't want him to burn out before the season even starts. So they're not really have in him. He's doing training. He's on a lot of other things. But when you when you talk to some of the players, they're saying that the thirty seven year old tied in future hall of fame tied in is looking the best. He has an very, very long time. As a matter of fact, one player said he looked younger he looked faster than he's ever seen him. As a matter of fact, he recorded his fastest twenty yards split time of his entire career. So maybe this time off has really helped out Jason and which he's been able to rest up the body, a lot of the injuries, a lot of the Knicks. Have been able to kind of be held up and he's found fountain you've that he has. Maybe another equality season tied in the cowboy stink. They have a Super Bowl run. And he's a big part of it. He's a big leader. A lot of the young players can really lean on him. And so. I will definitely be keeping an eye out to see how he does. Speaking of keeping an eye out also around the league. There is a lot of concern they're kinda report saying, there's a lot of concern as far as Todd Gurley goes right now, he has been. Getting treatment he has not been participate in in off season activities. But there was a report that is knee is not progressing, as fast as they would like there's a big concern because they just signed Todd Gurley to the big loan contract. And the Rams will only go as far as Todd Gurley takes them, everything with the Rams. It's kind of like the Cowboys the focal point of their offense goes through Todd Gurley. That's what makes the passing game work that gives the defense to rest that they need. Without Todd Gurley. The Rams take a major step back. So that is something that we all have to keep an eye on. Another story out there, as rebounding around the league is that the New York Jets today is Thursday. Will start their general manager interview their general manager search define the next guy is going to be running the team. And so that is something that you'll have to keep your out. I'll be keeping my out four so I'll keep you guys posted. But keep lookout there as well. Because there that is the jets are always front page news. So that search starts today. They'll be having a few guys come in today also over the weekend. So hopefully they'll have a new general manager within the next few weeks. Oh, let's talk about let's move to the world of college football. The first thing is, there was a report out linking urban miners to the US you at USC head coaching job. And this has come up a number of different times..

"I feel is the biggest of my life. So far, I will be retiring from the game of football today. There has been reaction around the league and chief among them, of course, his border back Tom Brady who simply said love you, man. Couldn't be a better person or teammate Jillian Ataman on Twitter. The other goat hashtag grunk and his head coach the only head coaching gronk nine year career Bill bell. Check releasing a statement that reads in part Rob's impact on our team and organization was felt in many ways. As he will leave an indelible Mark on the patriots organization and the game as among the best most complete players at his position to ever play Panthers tight end Greg Olsen via Twitter for the past nine years after each week one of the first guys reception targets. I would go watch was rob gronkowski, stump stuff. I would steal other stuff only he could do an incredible career. Enjoy. What's next Steve in camp? It was an incredible career for grog. He caught seventy nine touchdowns in his NFL career the third most ever by a player before his thirtieth birthday. The other two hall of famers. Randy moss, and Jerry Rice, he put in the work when it came to the postseason he logged twelve touchdown catches tied for the second most NFL postseason history. Jailing dreary rises twenty two and the five time pro bowler finishes his career with four seasons with at least a thousand yards receiving tied with hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez. Jason Jason Witten for the most among tight ends in NFL history. Really an incredible career. He's still young. But obviously has had his fair share of injuries all of you played against him. What made him so good? So just because it was the full package, right? He can block he can catch passes. He did everything you needed him to do as a tight end to be one of the best ever. I think I mean, even in the clip that you saw what titan is out there doing a double move like you don't see that ever from tight end position. So the fact that he can do everything so well and at an elite level is what made him so good. And that's why Tom Brady saw him in the red zone in the open field. Split him out one on one against corners linebacker sweater. The case may be a mismatch, and they split it for nice seasons. Coach. Well, I think you know, again, Victor said about match up nightmare mean lined up against him. And he's he was athlete outfit. You had to put a safety type on him from his mobility standpoint. And yet he could block like, no other. I mean, his blocking expertise was remarkable. And you had to guys on. He wasn't good enough. I mean, he was still good. You could not have him cover covered by one guy. And he really would really made him 'specially. I know the Bill is that he enjoyed playing football football. I, and that's the only way, and that's the patriot way. But gronk has much fun doing as anybody. That's why. So well respected by steaming. I mean, the reality is gronk was one of our first like position lists football players are no he went under tight end. But week by week. We're going to put you out as a receiver a little bit more gronk, and he was able to not only go do that. But dominated and what that did for Brady. Was you started telling Tom Brady the coverage before the snap when you would put him out as receiver you tell him if it's manners zone. And then, hey, we're going to have a little bit more as a blocker this week. And so we can run the football because that's what's going to be best in. So you're really an extra offensive lineman. Gronk in many ways was a position list football player. That's what made him so difficult to defend against because the defense, then coach, you know, this you had to go. How are we going to treat them this week? Is he a receiver is? The tight end is he an extra offensive. I also think that we don't talk about. How smart he was enough gronk for all the antics was a brilliant football player in had tremendous impact on their football team because of it. Well, you talked about the antics, and I think it's interesting because he was colorful guy he lived out loud..

"The player on this list of guys I'm going to read to you. And I won't go into all of them real deep the one who's gonna wind up making the third most money out of all of them. When all said and done through football will be the last guy on this list. Here's the list Devin mccourty made a ton of money. He's going to be loaded forever. Rob gronkowski. He's gronk. Then Jermaine Cunningham. Okay. Played thirty eight games. Brandon spikes decent career in the league. Seventy eight games Taylor price a wide receiver Aaron Hernandez. He's dead. Zoltan Mesko punter played fifty six games. I always thought that sounded more like a really terrible superhero than punter but Zoltan Mesko Ted Larsen center. Thomas Welsh tackle played twenty seven games. Brandon Dietrich defensive end played sixty games Cade west and never played the last pick in the draft. So the patriots at yours getting Zac Robinson quarterback out of Oklahoma state. Who is now the quarterbacks coach for the LA Rams, which means that he will be a head coach in the NFL within the next eleven months because of you so much as have lunch with Sean McVeigh, you're going to get an interview at least. And this guy's the quarterback. Coach Zack Taylor the previous quarterback coach Muslims higher guys. Zack. He's now the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. So anyway, it's just a little trip down memory lane. My big takeaway from that is man too tight ends drafted, and they could not be more opposite people and lead more opposite lives, rob gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Rob gronkowski's doing tied pod commercials. And he's going to be in the hall of fame. And he's having cruises. Where people come just to hang out with them. And Aaron Hernandez. Well, we all know how that one. To go to buffalo and talk to my man. Dave, Dave, welcome in man. How are you? Johnny. How you doing Nancy? Got it. You got it. A couple of things man. Just wanted to weigh in I on gronkowski. You know, the buffalo kid great career in the NFL. But as a Bill we won't miss him. He had doors apart great player. Those smart forgetting out when he's young made his Mark. I think you'll see more of that too with with the physical violence at football puts on these guys in the money, they make I think you're gonna see more careers on the shore. And then the longer end just because of you know, these guys are smart with their money. They can you know, be well off and their families can be wall for a long time as far as the tournament goes, you know, buffalo fan you obviously they lost tonight the Texas stack great season NATO. I gotta give him a lot of credit. I feel like he's got a nice job here row. Root for John B you I know he's a local guy from here. He's a guy. That's done some great things at Michigan. I think dabbled even a little bit with the pistons opening last year. So he's a guy. That is somebody that I think is this is this is a shot. I feel like this tournaments wide open. You made a good point too about the story lines. I feel like the games has been great or they've been terrible. I don't think there's been a lot of juice with that. It just doesn't seem like is the terminus of the past where you know, there's a lot of interest. And it just seems there's nothing great about it. But if the wind could win one, I think that would be a great story. He's deserving. He's a guy that's coach at every level at the at the elementary level. High school junior college division two now big time division one. So definitely pulling for him. And I'll take your thoughts man in what's games a little bit better than ex route brush, Dave, thanks for the phone call. Yeah. I I still think and this is going to be me sounding old. But I still think the thing that the NCAA tournament and the college basketball lacks are just the the intimacy with which the average fan connects with teams because a lot of teams that are. The marquee teams are cycling through guys that are one. And there's not a lot of connecting going on with the big ticket teams aren't really any big ticket group teams players collect collections of players that we see that fans become attached to either for good or for bad become attached to either heroes or villains. Like we did back as recently as probably the mid nineties. You know, the last group of players that I think probably held the average fans attention where the fat five in Michigan who of course, Weber left after a sophomore year. But then you still had Juwan Howard. And Ray Jackson and Jalen rose, Jimmy king. The Duke teams, I'm not talking about these Duke teams where coach K's basically just taking Calipar. He's done for the last ten years and doing it better than him talking about the Duke teams where where Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley Grant Hill. Nappy get the teams in the late nineties and early two thousands, and I know the Elton brand he left after his freshman year. But there were. Still even as recently as Grayson Allen was a guy who played four years. Just it. It's tough with the NCAA tournament. If you don't have a team that you was that your alma mater a team that you that you root for growing up. There's not a lot of connecting going on with a lot of the marquee teams. Because most of the players are gone after a year. Just is what it is. I mean, the only way to change that is to get rid of the one and done rule. I've always thought doing like baseball does it where a guy either declares coming out of high school or he goes to college for three years. I think it would help. I don't know if it's the fairest thing in the world. I haven't thought of the unintended consequences of it. I'm just thinking purely as a fan. I liked college basketball a lot more. When I I knew the guys on the teams, and they became characters in the TV drama that he's college basketball and the more I guess more acutely March madness. Eight five five two one two four CBS. The only way you fix. It is to change the rule though kids are gonna do what's in their best interest. And they should and for like these guys. What's in their best interest is complete Duke for a year Kentucky for a year or wherever for a year? And then go onto the NBA. Let's go to Alabama talked to David in Alabama. What's going on David? I got disagree with y'all gronk, and I might be in the minority on this. I mean, he's a great player. I did tremendous job of marketing himself a tremendous job about. But I think I'm thinking Jason Witten is a lot better than him. I think Dave casper. Name that brought up that was back in the seventy. I actually I actually brought up casper in the first hour. This is the first name I brought up and it was first hour of the show just to be fair. But I did bring him up earlier and math who plays for the coal. Mackey? I mean, you know, but I'm saying this is my thing on that. I love it. I love the comparison with Hernandez because that was a terrible thing. And what a terrible story and all that. But gronk, you know, maybe because of his age, but he did a phenomenal job of Brandon himself marketing themselves, he didn't get himself. A lot of trouble bad trouble. We got you know, you're going to be a renegade. All they didn't get any kind of, you know, domestic violence stupid stuff like that. Right. And and he's very memorable and he's hall of fame. Late. Note on you, say, okay. Do you do you think he's not hall of fame great because the durability issues or do you think from a skill set? There's no way that you can think that peak gronk is is not better than peak Jason Witten. Oh, God Jason Witten was Mr. reliable Jason witnessed first ballot hall of famers. No doubt about it. I think you bet right now. I guarantee you I guarantee you garage if he does make a hall of fame. He's gonna sit there for a while ten years. He's going to be like what's his name? Golly. Bring your popcorn, you know. You know, Carol Owens, Terrel Owens. What a mistake out was. But anyway, he's gonna take a decade for gronk. Well, okay. David. This intrigues me. Just real quick. What is it about Jason Witten? What is Jason Witten do better than rob gronkowski? Specifically skill is what does he do better? Durability played fifteen years number one versus nine where gronk was out of the nine. We'll the hall of fame the hall of fame just put in Terre, Terrell Davis who played five years, the hall of fame voters have shown that durability is at the bottom of the list of the things that that come into play when they're voting for these guys. I mean, I realized I just don't think he played long enough. I think I don't think he he was out more than he was in while he was any did a great job. I'm not arguing that. I just don't know. He's hall of fame. Great. Then that's my argument play on enough and and enough records. I mean, we got all kinds of records. You know? I mean, he's a class act. He wasn't real loud. You never heard about him. You know, he was under the radar. He all he was was a family, man. You didn't catch him drink, and you didn't catch him donation? Catch him doing that. So, you know, he's at the office of gronk in regards of Mr. reliable. How many times I mean, you could sit there and watch the game. Go to bitch eventually go to witness third. Eight third and ten thirty and twelve and sure enough they did and everybody knew it, and he'd catch it. And it'd be a first down again and again and again and again Jason Jason Witten was a two time. First team all pro gronkowski in half. The seasons was a four time. First team. All pro I get a witness a really, I gotta let you go. David. I look Jason Witten is he he's probably gonna make the hall of fame at some point certainly won't be as a broadcaster, nevertheless and his clock on the hall of fame is now reset because he's not retired. He's back in the game. But I I don't know, man. I if you think Jason Witten is a better player than rob gronkowski. Just a better football player than rob gronkowski. I gotta disagree with you, man. Rob gronkowski was an explosive game rob gronkowski toyed with Cornerbacks the same way, he toyed with linebackers and safeties rob gronkowski was a great athlete. Rob gronkowski was a great inline blocker Jason Witten is gonna make the hall of fame and Jason Witten certainly was to the Cowboys a security blanket whoever's playing quarterback there. I'm not saying this to say Jason Witten with some kind of scrub he's not to time. I team all pro. He's a great player as well. But if your argument is availability, that's fine. If you want a guy who's available for fifteen years compiling.

Fourteen of the thirty two head coaches called their own place on Jason Garrett saying, oh, we'll we'll give Kelly Moore the title of offense coordinator, but you know, who's going to coordinate game plan, call place. You think Jerry has direct connection and contact with Jason during the game? I don't know each other before the game when I would just go for it. Of course, it was Jason GARRETT'S final call through the fourth quarter third fourth quarter break with the game on the line down eight points at the ram thirty five yard line fourth and short. "Dot AG. Total in this game forty one pain when we look at some of the notes around this game. Lamar Jackson looking to become only the second rookie quarterback to beat a ten plus year veteran since nineteen ninety the only other player during that span his teammate Joe flacco back in two thousand eight the trivia question. I should ask you there is you have any idea who the starting quarterback? Joe flacco beaten that match matchup was. I have no idea Kerry Collins of the Tennessee titans. Go figure than they get it. Then they get his name to that podcast. But you look at John Harbaugh ten and five in the playoffs. Second best winning percentage among active amongst active coaches by only Bill Belichick, and when we go through the new look ravens. I'll ask you this more about the matchup than anything else. Who do you give the edge to the chargers that have already seen? This ravens offense. It'll be the first team to play them twice will the mar- Jackson as the starter or the ravens because they were so dominant both establishing the Ron and making life absolutely miserable for Philip rivers in that game that Saturday night in Los Angeles. I obviously think although this isn't necessarily the site likes don't read too much into this. But you would think it vantage chargers. And I think the one interesting thing that I've picked up this week is both coaches have openly talked about the familiarity. This is going to be the second time in three weeks and hack like Anthony Lynn kind of doubled down on that. He flat out said like nobody's changing who they are at this point. Or what they do this time of year. And so from his perspective ultimately offense is not going to change. Right. Lamar Jackson doesn't I don't think have the ability and that offense doesn't have the ability to change who they are. Right now. I think more is better passer than we thought he would be completing over fifty eight percent of his passes. Which is I think spectacular for him. But we see the confidence isn't there necessarily right on third and five against the Browns. You have a chance to seal the game. And it's up a pitch backwards to a running back. Fortunately that wasn't fumbled. But he's still limited as a passer. But like this is a physical offense. It's built on running the football. And that isn't going to change here. And so I think it does provide a little bit of advantage to the chargers defense, we touched on this after Lamar's first start. But I think we get new listeners every week so bears repeating in Lamar seven starts Baltimore's. Run the ball on sixty six percent of the snaps, and we just got done talking Seattle. They're the most run heavy team in the NFL during the regular season. Roughly fifty three percent of the time. So it's pretty wild to see that that correlation. How much running has gone on? Anthony Lynne's comments about familiarity got me to thinking a little bit. So I started poking around yesterday and I dug into the first matchup in the first half of the game in week sixteen. The ravens averaged five point four yards per rush. Forty-one percent success rate. It was pretty clear to me especially that first drive where there was like a little bust to Gus Edward to went for an explosive run. The chargers were still in that mode where they're trying to figure out this quirky. Unfamiliar ravens offense. You just don't see very often. Also, I think it was a short week although they did play Thursday game. So they actually had extra time. So there that is an excuse, but you went into halftime. It looked like in LA made some adjustments. They seem to figure some things out because in the second half the ravens run game averaged three point four yards for rush attempt. They were only successful in twenty three percent of runs that was a huge improvement there. And then when I went back and watch this game. I've watched like six times now pretty pretty depressing. Kurt Warner was on the telecast. And I find him to be extremely sharp. I could see in potentially taking Jason Jason Witten job eventually here. But. Warners going to forget more football than than we would ever know. I just he is so sharp to me and throughout that telecasts. He kept mentioning the style of defenders the chargers had specifically their safeties. And just like how fast they were how they can move sideline to sideline how good of tacklers they were..

"Oh, Yeah. yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. The the big players. Of course, you're they're great Todd Gurley is a top story from this game. We saw a lot of Malcolm Brown. Now. I was watching the game on skip thirty seconds. So I mean, unfortunately, I missed a lot of that stunning. Jason Witten analysis you but not so fortunate but go on but what my point is. I didn't hear anything about Todd Gurley of why is he not on the field? But you noticed it in passing. Which is I think what the point like there's something. There was something banged up wrong about Todd Gurley last night. Only twelve carries in a game. Where look it was one of the highest scoring games in NFL history. He put up his lowest scoring fantasy game of the year. People were freaking out about it. And for good reason because you had multiple red zone carries Malcolm Brown you had very few carries by Todd Gurley. And even from the design screen standpoint there in a few things to him. But it wasn't like a staple of what the. Offense is doing despite Brandin cooks going out for a brief period of time despite no Cooper Cup. And yeah, he seems banged up. But you got the by week you've got two weeks. And and, you know, you'll be okay. We haven't heard anything the other takeaway is Josh Reynolds six for eighty with a hose down. He was very involved. Eight targets compared to the other the big guys cooks at twelve Robert woods had eleven made. Josh reynolds. Yeah. I mean, this is the waiver wire show will get into that in a little bit. But in my view that he wanted it up. He is a one hundred percent must pick up your on pot potentially the best offense in the league. You're on the field at all times the opportunity for fantasy production will be there. And he's a good player. I believe he's a good player. He's a good player. I think we'll talk about. And when he comes up, and I think she was obviously a pickup depending on. We'll see what expectations are also Gerald Everett had too much down. Are we going to climb? He's a foundling. Everett's? Okay. I see. Yeah. Yes back. I'm adding him to my stream team. I don't think it was ever there yet this. It's coming. It was it was never there. But he's officially on the stream team when it comes tight ends in terms of like you can take a shot with him. He was probably, you know, in a game with this kind of over under which by the way, Vegas took a major bath sixty nine percent of peop- hope they're clean now that on the over there cleaned out. You're out there. He said sometimes you should pause to make sure you got the right. Joe never be because you could get like you. It's good or better. Mike like, they're all good. But you could be better. I could. But you just I'm like a machine gun. I got a fire him out. I agree. You are. Let's get into the news. News and notes from around the league. She can go machine-gun McGrane pampers. You get better with age and most most good. I don't think that's true Twitter at the F ballers, you can follow machine gun Mike at FFA bit, man. You can follow. Jason Jason F L. I'm at a Andy Holloway. I was live tweeting the whole game long of jealous. Fifty percent of them were Jason Witten related. Yeah. Jason Jason Witten has tweeted this last night he has a random analysis button, then he pushes and then just like it's like one of those dolls where you pull the string in the back. And then some sentence comes out and like fifty percent of those sentences tight end related. I put my favorite my favorite and booger. Did it to my favorite was negative place? Like girly he took a he took a little outside zone run. He lost a yard. And literally he goes. That's what I love about Todd Gurley. My favorite of the broadcast group is how they're emphatically in the middle of a point. And they're saying this is really good. And then they just stop it. I was done with that sentence. It's like what there's a bear. At your now. Go just stopped..

"A couple times will vary. That Prescott was great. I mean, they look like they were going to be what the Rams are now, especially when they had that Prescott rookie contract, which gave them sort of the financial flexibility. You thought they would use to boost that offense. Instead, we're talking about a team where you're right. The defense eight the problem it often doesn't have any weapons. It's like they didn't have a post Jason Jason Witten plan. And here we are were Dak Prescott. What's supposed to be that good young quarterback? And he continues to regress twenty sixteen. I thought he was an MVP candidate. And we continue to build and beware. Jared Goff is now and look at this team. And what they are. It's embarrassing to me not just for Jason Garrett that just for the franchise bus to sit. Specifically, I can say it to Jerry Jones who didn't take advantage of a crucial situation to have that financial flexibility to pieces, and he didn't do it. Like, what are you doing? If you're not taking advantage of this rookie deal. They didn't take advantage of the Romo era and part of that could be you can go to. Hey, the desk catch that wasn't catching Green Bay. And then they're going to championship game and playing a Seahawks team, but they beat earlier in the year by double digits out in Seattle. But still. Right. So Jerry Jerry looks at the Romo era as a remarkable failure. Now when you your to your point on the Dak Prescott rookie contract. Remember, he's not a first round pick. He's a fourth round pick. So they're coming to the end of that rookie contract. And then he got a decision. Do you pay him or don't you pay him? And then when he comes to Jason Garrett meal just bad optics to me, if you're it's like Romo going Kabo during a bye week, right? The playoffs Jason Witten was with him. You know, but nobody was talking about Jason Witten because Jason Witten didn't play quarterback. Well, the head coach but three and four team to me shouldn't be at a World Series game. During a by what you should be spending every minute trying to figure out how to make your team better during a by. We can. And if you aren't don't be out. I mean goes on your back deck, right? Go be with your family have a couple of pops grill be damn sure should be going to a World Series game. And I'm not the only one thanks to listen to Jimmy Johnson from a Cowboys head coach when a couple of Super Bowls talking about this very thing on FOX. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. We're seen in the crowd with country singer Brad paisley you'd like this look, well, I know the World Series. It's huge. But you know perception, I think it sends the wrong message not only to the fans, but to the players at three and four there's work to be done. And he went on to talk about why you should be. They're getting work done. He's my roommate. Jeff. I mean, if it's Simmons here on ESPN radio ESPN app. Siriusxm channel eighty and you lose his game on Monday night football where everybody's watching. And it's a huge game for both of these teams when it comes to your play off lives. A lot of people are going to be wondering if Jason Garrett should be run as coach for Dallas Cowboys, and they have every right to question. His decisions on the field off the field. He's just in a tough spot. Because I don't think anybody believes that he's the coach of the future done anything to prove that. And I'm not even sure a win tonight doesn't anything to really boost his chances. He just looks like this team looks like it might have the wrong coach and even the wrong quarterback for the future. I don't mind the quarterback. I think Jack has got something I really do. But it's been eight years now with Jason Garrett. And we haven't seen a ton of success with him at the helm that. And when it comes to optics bad.
