A family tormented by mental illness so much so that constance drowned all of her children in two horrifying increments that took place twelve years apart. We're going to be talking about the constants fisher tragedy today and it is a tragedy that is so this is one of the hard ones. I'll say it's one of the. It's a hard episode. everybody it is. I think it's important to talk about. I think it's important to talk about the context the nature of mental illness especially in this situation. But i'm just putting it out. There is not going to be easy constants. i think saying her name right was a child of adoption. She never knew her biological parents. She was moody kid a handful to her adopted family. "Game that plays you. I'm jason horton. I'm rebecca leap. And this is ghost town You're usually the went cornered the market on a video game conspiracy retro technology. But i found this very interesting case. I guess about the police. I hope i'm saying that right. It's a video game that may or may not have been that killed people and it's very rare that we see urban legend proven true. But this has all of that too. So we're gonna be talking about the police conspiracy today. Pleaded starts as a kind of vintage video gamer urban legend in the two thousands. Actually the urban legend goes police was a mystery arcade game that apparently appeared in several portland. Suburbs around nineteen eighty-one the machines cabinet body. I guess was painted entirely black and it was rumored that the stern looking men would sometimes visited the arcade where police was placed to collect information from the machine possibly testing the players response to its psychoactive effect before disappearing with said information the game at a strange effect on its players also. It's described as being literally addictive with lines forming around the machines and fights erupting over. Who had played next. That doesn't seem that abnormal but players also supposedly suffered from horrible side effects including amnesia insomnia night terrors and hallucinations. The company that created the police game in most accounts of the story is called boy here. We go cynics lotion. Which means in german sense delete or sensory deprivation. The words meanings are derived from the german words. Ciga- senses and lotion to extinguish or to delete. Though the they're combined this is a bit of a stretch. Rumor has it so we're taking this one step further that it was the cia. Experiments spun off from m. k. Ultra the psychoactive drugs. Study conducted on unsuspecting subjects a giant conspiracy collecting data from unsuspecting preteens and teenagers while systemically destroying their minds approximately one month after its supposed released in nineteen eighty-one police said to have just disappeared without a trace and the legend but is the legend. "The cia as outdoor secret. I'm rebecca leave. I'm jason horton and this is a ghost town. Cryptos sculpture located on the grounds of cia headquarters created by sculptor. Jim sanborn installed in nineteen ninety. This thousands of characters they contain encrypted messages in four sections three have been solved. The fourth section consists of ninety seven characters which remains on solved. This is cryptos. i love. I love this one. I find something to be so interesting. Can you imagine being the person hired to create the sculpture. And how much goes into it and how indicative it is of the mystery that surrounds the cia. Looked pretty much everything else. It's incredible especially because it's under lock and key very secretive. It's all hush hush but right in the front right there. It's there for really anyone to try to crack this code and they've been cracking the code since it's been installed only when you solve all four sections can you solve cristos. I again just the idea of having a coded sculpture outside. The cia is so fucking cool. I love it so much. I love the people probably work for such a long time to crack each quadrant. But of course want remains unsolved. That's for you listener. You're just solve a real quick when you have a minutes to let us know jim. Sanborn worked with the employees ed. She'd from pronouncing that right to come up with the cryptographic systems on the sculpture. It's twelve foot high. It's made of copper granite and wood and it kind of looks. That's what's on there and each section is separate and how you decide how you're gonna crack this code is really up to the person trying to do it. And there's been different methods to crack different things. And according to sanborn the sculpture contains a riddle within a riddle which will be solvable. He was known by his concerning nickname at the killer which he used weaponized after a while he was very radic and with threaten many people not just the woman who was married to born in nineteen thirty five and concordia parish louisiana. Lewis began playing piano with his two cousins. Mickey gilley went on to be a popular country music singer. He didn't do much. In the nineteen sixties his performances were getting more erratic wildly energetic insane. Dude lots of things that will also get into you. Went full country at the end of the nineteen sixties and was known for covering classics and kind of a country style by twenty ten. He had a dozen gold records in both rock and country. That the video is an admission to murder a mannequin or android with a wig and women's clothes and stop motion seen song than a costume change with tara sitting all in black on the ground with one strange cut to the woods. "Nineteen fifty nine. The bodies of ten young students experienced hikers and skiers were found in bizarre and puzzling ways strewn over a forested mountain tap. Their deaths would remain a mystery until a week ago. I kid you not. This is the story of the die off pass so again starts in one thousand nine hundred fifty nine. There's a group of early twenty somethings. They're all in their early twenties from like twenty two twenty three to one thirty eight year old outlier to kind of lead them has a little bit more experience under his belt. And they all study at the euro polytechnical institute and it was an organized skiing expedition across the euro mountains in the soviet union. Eager deitz lov. Three year old radio engineer was kind of the leader who assembled everybody asking nine of his college friends. Eight men and two women to join up again. I'm sorry if i mispronounced names. I'm bound to do that. Even deitz love pass. Was his stretch for me so again. Apologies in any case. All of them were experienced great to hikers with lots of skiing experience. Also it was kind of going to be a high scoring hybrid trip. And when they returned all of them would be receiving their grade three hiking certification which is really impressive. It was the highest certification available in the soviet union and required candidates to climb over a hundred ninety miles. The route was designed by dight loves group to reach the far northern regions of spurred lofts oblast and approved by the sverdlovsk city. Route commission even though it was supposed to be the most difficult time to take that route. The goal of the expedition was to reach a tort in our which is a six point. Two mile high mountain semi-in terry of who is previously certified to go with another expedition of similar difficulty. Decided to go with the dice. It would be a decision that saved his life on january thirty first. The group arrive at the edge of a highland area and began to prepare for climbing. They secured food and equipment. There that would be used for when they would come back through the next day. The ten plan to get over the pass and make camp for the next night on the opposite side but bad conditions snowstorms and decreasing visibility. Made them lose their direction and push the group more west than they had planned when they realized that they were more west than they should be. Group decided to just set up camp right on the slope of the mountain rather than move a couple of miles downhill to a forested area. Which would have offered a little bit of shelter from the weather. Diaries and cameras founder on their last campsite possible to track the group's route up until this point which is really a really profound part of the story to see their writing and to see the pictures they had a camera. The film was developed after the fact so it feels very very spooky in that way and they're all so young and very positive and optimistic and really excited about each other. And the you know exploring the mountaintop the group had so much ahead of them and they talk about what they were studying and how that was significant to this expedition but unfortunately that night would be the last day that they would all be alive before leaving on the expedition. Dight love told the university sports club he would send telegram no later than february twelfth on the twelfth passed and no messages have been received there was no immediate reaction because it was pretty normal to encounter delays etc but on february twentieth. Travelers relatives demanded a rescue operation. And the head of the institute sent the first rescue groups consisting of volunteer students and teachers

A four teenage girls found dead in an incinerated yogurt shop. This is the yogurt shop. Murders and december sixth nineteen ninety-one. It was a chilly friday night. In austin texas fifteen year old. Sarah harbison and her thirteen year old friend. Amy eire's or airs again apologies. If i get names wrong. Were at north. Chris mall in downtown austin in nineteen ninety-one they were milling around shopping. Just kind of killing time until sarah's sister jennifer and her friend and coworker allies at thomas. Seventeen with their late shift which would end around eleven pm. jennifer analyzer worked at the. I can't believe it's not yogurt. Shop located in the hillside strip mall blocks away from north cross mall. I can't believe it's yogurt. Is something that i was familiar with but again it's a very it's kind of a heavier. Texas chain founded in nineteen seventy seven. It's a pretty cool job to have. I can imagine as a teenager. You know easy kind of fun. i would also imagine. Sarah was excited that iran ten pm when she went to help jennifer analiza close up that she was. You know getting ready for her weekend. It was friday night. They were all going to to a friend's for sleepover party afterwards. It's it feels like a very. And this i think is what gets me too. It feels like a very like typical nineties. That i would have absolutely been part of and i could see myself in this specific time and place just before midnight austin police department officer troy gay was patrolling the area. He noticed smoke rising up from the strip mall. Gear reported as a fire and firefighters soon arrived on the scene as they were extinguishing the blaze. They saw it wasn't just a fire. It was a murder scene jennifer. Sarah amy elisa were dead. All of the girls were naked bound gagged with their own clothing jennifer. Sarah eliza were found deep in the store and a kind of supply closet clustered into one corner allies. And sarah were stacked on top of each other while jennifer lay close by legs were spread wide open. One body had an ice cream scoop placed on it. They were all shot in the back of the head. Execution style with a twenty two lead bullet. Sarah's hands have been tied behind her with a pair of underwear that she had also been gagged with and she was raped. Jennifer was not bound but her hands behind her back. Elisa have been gagged in her hands were also tied behind her their bodies were burned almost beyond recognition with napkins and other flammable items from around the shop on top of them clearly used to help burn their bodies. It is a thing you really need to have access to it. It's its own thing. Yeah and also once you go down that path like there's no coming back day or you do not want you're better off. I found every story is interesting. The amount of research they put in his unbelievable. They made a lifelong listener for sure. Oh that's my jesus.
