"My end. I apologize. Yeah, I mean, you know what? Is that a broadcasting rookie mistake to just hop on your cell phone and do stuff like that? I mean, that could be that, Jason. Yeah, thank you. I think so. I'm not that seasoned veteran that you are. You know what? Jason, I can just, I can help with that sort of stuff from now from now on for you. Congratulations on that gig with NBC. Congrats on really excited about it, rich. I had the opportunity to do these USFL games all spring with the crew from NBC and I just can't tell you how impressed I am with everybody at NBC. It's been an incredible experience right from the get go and have the opportunity to continue that this fall is really exciting for me. And so what is your plan this fall? What exactly are you going to be doing with NBC this fall? I think I know, but I'll just let you reveal what you got. I'm going to be part I'm going to be part of the Sunday Night show football night in America with coach Dungey and Maria Taylor and Chris Simms and the whole crew that they have up there and again, it's an extension of the work I've done in the USFL and I've gotten to know those guys really well through the years because with the cowboys, we were always playing three Sunday Night games. So they became friends of mine and just have the opportunity to work with them. Again, both in the USFL and now in the fall is exciting. Yeah, I know, and you've got three cowboys Sunday Night football games already on the docket. How things can get flexed around as well and flexed into right off the bat Dallas and Tampa and so obviously you are going to be asked to be analytical and sometimes critical of the Dallas Cowboys or anybody that you may know and appreciate certainly the Giants organization as well. What is your take on what the cowboys have done this off season in my opinion is that they haven't taken a step forward. They've taken a step back. What are your thoughts on the subject matter? Jason? Well, first of all, they had an awfully good year last year and they didn't get the job done against San Francisco on the playoff game and so the starting point is probably it's a really good football team. And I know many of those guys, we drafted many of them. And I know the kind of I know the kind of men they have in that locker room. And the leaders they have in that locker room and there's no doubt in my mind that they're going to respond the right way. One of the things that that's been really impressive to me about the organization and that team is the continued the off season program, the work ethic that has been such a big part of that program. This past year, you hear stories about everybody being there, a 100% attendance, all throughout the off season program and again, I know tyron Smith, sack Martin. Dak Prescott Zeke Elliott, all those guys that they have have been the cornerstone players on that team. So they'll respond the right way. The business of football is challenging, as we all know, you get these big time players and they have opportunities to go elsewhere in free agency and it's hard to keep everybody. So sometimes people will look at that and say, hey, boy, there's this mass exodus. I don't know about that. I know they got a lot of really good cornerstone players there who've been great players for a long time and they're excited about the young players they have. So I wouldn't bet against this team. So what advice would you give Mike McCarthy? I know he's got a trophy in the case. He's been around quite a bit. And has his own frame of reference. But Dan Quinn is sitting there defensive coordinator and Jerry's already even said publicly, like so many defensive court near as an offensive coordinator stick around because they know they have a shot at the job eventually using your name even in that sound bite to prove a point that's why Dan Quinn stuck around. And McCarthy still has the job. Even though a vote of confidence was just given by Jerry moments a couple of days ago because of Sean Payton's name. So what advice would you give Mike McCarthy, Jason Garrett, having been in that position yourself for as long as you were? Well, I think the biggest thing for any for any head coach and really for any player in the NFL is really just focus on yourself and what you need to do to be your best and I know that's a cliche and everyone thinks that it's coach speak and all of that. But it's so true and it's so true, certainly in a place like Dallas, there's a lot of there's a lot of people who make their living speculating about things and digging things up and stirring things up. That's just the world that we live in. The days of Walter Cronkite telling the news as it is, at 6 o'clock every weekday evening, those are long gone. It's 24 hour news cycles and we're trying to stir the pot. And so when you're in those roles, you have to just really focus on what you need to do. To be your best. And this was a theme that we tried to use with all of our players through the years. Players getting into Twitter wars and all of this kind of stuff. It's like, hey, let's just lock in on what we need to do each day to be our best. And when you're preaching that message to your team, sometimes you've got to preach it to yourself. And you got to say, hey, everything that I'm trying to share with these guys to help them individually be their best to help our team be its best, sometimes you got to say, hey, I got to remind myself of those things. And not that you think about it a lot, but you're asked about it a lot. And so you just kind of lock in and say, hey, this is what I need to do to be my best today. Mike, obviously, is a fantastic coach, has been for a long time. He understands the importance of doing that. And I think they have a really good team. And they always have a really good head coach and a lot of good players. And they got a chance to be a good team this year. What is it like to be in a meeting with Jerry Jones after a loss? Jason, what is that like? Jerry Jones, he's a fascinating guy. He is. You don't have the success that he's had throughout his life and really everything he's touched. He has amazing amazing abilities. He has amazing wisdom and intelligence about so many different topics. And I would say he was incredible after losses. He was incredible when times were tough. His support for coaches and for players and when the football part of it was tough for things in your individual life or challenging their depths and those kinds of things, he was incredible. And I saw the examples through the years when I was playing there when I was coaching there when things like that happened for me. I felt it personally. So there's a perception about Jerry Jones and I think some of it from the outside might be accurate, but there are a lot of stuff he's portrayed in a certain way that I simply don't agree with..

"For the PGA broadcasting PGA Tour events for a major broadcasting network might not be his cup of tea either, but he could have been sitting in this tower next to Nance for 5th for 16 years himself if he wanted to. His mid 60s, however long he wants to do it. That's gone. Poof. Out the door. What a career he could have had post playing and now I guess he's making his money on the live tour and we'll see how popular this becomes. I proffer to say, once football returns, this conversation about Liv versus PGA and PGA versus Lyft is going to take a backseat until maybe next year. We'll see how it plays out. If anybody's going to go seek it out online, can't wait to see how these guys do at the next event, 54 hole shotgun starts, something like that. The curiosity factor, the rubber necking factor that maybe somebody winds up shooting at 60 and you want to see it. Like, what the hell happened right there? Oh, dechambeau is in the final group with Patrick Reed or capco is in the final group with Phil who had a great weekend. I mean, you're going to start to tune into that sort of thing, will you? Won't you? After a while, I think this whole live versus PGA Tour thing, it's going to burn out. And Phil's going to look around. And now what? His bank account may be back to dormie from what you read or about. Or better than that. And that's his own personal life, but I just thought to myself, he should be, what a career in broadcasting he could have had in the seats open, the seats open. Right now, seats open. I don't know who CBS is going to fill it with. That's what I thought. Like, Trevor immerman is taking over next year, Trevor a woman. There you go. I had no idea. Master's champ. Okay. And I'm sure Nancy and him will be a terrific listen and because Nancy makes everybody look great. She's doing the match broadcast and he's been great. I've enjoyed his it's terrific, but Phil would have been just, I mean, we would have been listening to him forever in a day. Make it as smarter, being funny, talking about when I was here when I was there when I did this when I did that. You know, having an immense vast library of experience from which to tap just like Brady's going to have. Coming up? Whenever he's done, we'll talk to Leonard fournette. Maybe so, I don't know. I don't know, but again, not to belabor it. I just thought that would have been Phil seed. Could have been Phil's seat. Don't know if CBS wanted him and that seat. Don't know if he wanted that seat, but that's this next step he could have done, played a few tournaments. I don't know how he would have called what was happening we found it was playing the masters. He played earlier in the morning and then he took to the booth later on in the day. I mean, I guess CBS could have dealt with something like that. At Augusta national, but not anymore. That birdie, if you will, has flown. Let's take a break right here on the rich eisen show Jason Garrett, baby. Let's talk some ball. The NFC west is TJ Jefferson's best player in the history of the franchise look see. We're going to have a what's more likely today here on a Thursday edition, lots of NFL on the brain today, Jason Garrett, now of NBC. When we come back. California two O four rich number to dial here on the rich eisen show. He is on the Mercedes Benz Vance phone line. He's one of my favorite people that I've gotten to meet, come across in the National Football League. He is now part of NBC sports will be part of football night in America starting this fall, but coming up, this very Saturday and prime time 8 Eastern Time on the field of the Hall of Fame game that's normally played in the National Football League at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame stadium in canton Ohio, 8 eastern on NBC and peacock. It's going to be the USFL playoffs. The Birmingham stallions against the New Orleans breakers in the south division final, iron prime time, Jack collinsworth on the call with Jason Garrett here on the riches show. How you doing, Jason? Fantastic. It's good to chat with you. Absolutely fine. But your phone is cutting it out. Are you on a cell phone right now? Jason? Is it killing you? It is. We're going to tap out and call you right back in a second right here on the rejection. And then we'll just start again. There you go. Pop them back on, hold there, and let's see what's going on. Right here on the rich end. There he goes. There he goes. Coach. I was sharing and then all of a sudden I just wanted to get to him on time and the phone crapped out right there. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to blame at him for that. You know? Adam said that works. He was fine when he talked to him. Find when I talk to him, oh, SMH. So he's shaking his head back there. Yeah, he's like, come on, man. Okay. Coach is making me look bad. Tell him not to move around. That's what I said. That's my note, Adam, to tell coach Garrett. Same one spot. Just can you stay in one spot? Can you stay in one position there? I mean, that's a thing. Move around a signal changes. We don't know where he is. It could be anywhere. Well, I think he might be in canton Ohio already. He could be with del tufo right now. Mike is doing that game. That's where he is. Mike is there. We should textile two photon to go find coach. You flew their first class. I think he might be calling in from the old land line right now. I don't know. Let me see, 'cause I have his number. Let's see if it matches. That was it really? Yeah, just don't move. Just don't move. We're checking on Jason Garrett. This is called content to everybody. I have a different number for him. Did he change his number?.

"I am not naive. If this is an arms race, and if the only weapons here are dollar bills, the PGA Tour can't compete. The PGA Tour in American institution can't compete with a foreign monarchy that is spending billions of dollars in an attempt to buy the game of golf. We welcome good healthy competition. The live Saudi golf league is not that. It's an irrational threat. One not concerned with the return on investment or a true growth of the game. And interesting enough, while he spoke, Liv golf took that moment to tweet out that Brooks Koepka had indeed left the PGA Tour. So the PR fight is a foot and he's right, man. This is not a rational approach. At all, if you can take the approach that you do things to turn a profit. You know? If you do things to actually run a business, then this is irrational. This is not any type of one would say conventional warfare. Look, nobody can compete in any business. Any business. If you are running a business and you're trying to run a business and somebody comes in with more money than you and doesn't care if they lose it. Because the idea is to just have the business. So your other business ventures are potentially more palatable to join. And partner up with. If that's if that's what the Saudis are attempting to do in the live golf tour folks are absolutely in on all of that because they want to just make folks like Jay monahan uncomfortable and potentially less viable in the world. I think that's already if I may use a phrase, mission accomplished banner should be hung there. Although this one is truly a mission that has been accomplished. No doubt about it. And certainly the PGA Tour is doing whatever they can because they announced yesterday as well, the actual number is $45 million in what's being called incremental purse. That's a great person. Incremental purse. Can I get some of that? I'll look into that incremental purse. Thank you. The genesis invitational just up the road from here, the Arnold Palmer invitational, the world golf challenge Dell Technologies match play in the memorial. So Jack and Arnie's tournaments will go from a total purse of 20 million to 12 million to 20 million. The century tournament of champions goes from 8.2 to 15 and the players championship, now has got a purse of 25 million and a FedEx saint Jude invitational and BW championship are going to jump to 20 million. And for all the players who go in that, you know, great. And for the fans, what does that mean for us? It means the hot dog will now cost $25 when you go to these events, I guess. And also, if you want to watch these events and see the best stars in it, this will help. Keep them there. It's no money out of your pocket. I guess unless you're going to these events, it's the partners. As monaghan said, one of the things we've heard over the last several months from our sponsors is please tell us what we can do to help them on it. It's like, okay, dig deeper. Let's get the purses up. Let's go. Maybe that might keep a player from accepting the Saudi money, potentially. Here's the thing that I thought of the other day. About Phil. Here's what I thought of the other day about film. Is what a shame of what's become. Of a guy who just had nothing but smiles and he had those big old sunglasses aviators on thumbs up and everybody as he's winning a championship last year. In that pandemic year, which we're still in, I guess I should stop referring to passengers as pandemic years. We're still in it. But I mean, just seeing him the gregarious Phil, the happy go lucky Phil. That might not be the real fill who knows, but we as fans, and him at the match. With Brady and Rogers and dechambeau. We came on the air here the day after and I'm like, what a career he will have as a broadcaster. He would make he makes you smarter. He knew he knew how to move the event along. He knew how to keep it going. He knew how to chop it up with the guys, but he also knowing that there is a listening and viewing audience at home who would love to get in on what they're talking about. He let us in. He was wired up. He was coaching him up. He was also getting in their grill. He made it a far more entertaining product. And I thought to myself, when he's done playing, or he's beginning to do finish plank, he should go on a tower. I said that. This week, sir Nick faldo said he's retiring from broadcasting. After 16 years at CBS, meaning there's going to be a seat next to Nancy. And I thought to myself, that should. That should have that could have been fills if you wanted obviously who knows if he wants to do that. It is a grind, but if he's willing to go on the tour and play, or he was not a big fan of the tour and he didn't want to give them his name and full faith and credit and brand and lend it to it. I know broadcasting.

"All right we need a thanks that's a Bloomberg business flash Now here's Michael Barr with more on what's going on around the world Michael Nathan thank you very much Millions of Americans are loading up their cars to see grandma or piling onto planes for Thanksgiving holiday travel The number of air passengers this week is expected to approach her even exceed pre-pandemic levels Meanwhile cities across the nation including New York are inflating balloons for Thanksgiving Day parades tomorrow In the NBA the next beat the Lakers one O 6 100 LeBron James wasn't on the court He's serving a suspension Also in the NFL the New York Giants fired offensive coordinator Jason Garrett Global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quick take powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts and more than a 120 countries I'm Michael Barr This is Bloomberg John All right Michael thanks a lot 6 20 on Wall Street word live from the Bloomberg interactive broker studios This is Bloomberg daybreak Futures in the U.S. are lower right now Some key U.S. data Federal Reserve Venice do today could provide the next catalyst for market moves Let's get you set up for the trading day hand in the U.S. Michael yous joins us He's the chief market analyst at CMC markets I'm looking at my eco screen and it's just like one two three 25 data points today something like that What are you going to be latched on to in particular I described it as a tsunami of data points So it is very important that you try and sift through all of that For me what I'm focusing on is the fed minutes probably more than anything But more importantly I think it's really the PC deflator which is the fed's preferred measure of measuring inflationary pressures And that's likely to move above 5% later today and the core PCE to edge towards four which would be highest level since 1990 I think this sort of dovetails quite neatly into the narrative I think with respect to the fed and what it might do in December we know that a number of third policy makers are concerned about increased pricing pressures we've seen no end of that policymakers talk about their concerns around it For me with respect to the minutes is what was the discussion about the taper How many fed policy makers wanted to do more than $10 billion in U.S. treasuries and $5 billion in mortgage backed securities Was that a compromise and could we expect that to change in December Yes To be sure there are divisions within the policymakers on the Federal Reserve Absolutely I mean you've only got to listen to Raphael bostic You've got to look at James bullard Who is the voting member next year So I think certainly the discourse is going to change and obviously also I think the balance of tail potentially with respect to the hawks Now that's not to say that we are definitely going to get to rate hikes next year But when you look at that discussion and in the context of the discussion that we were having in the middle of the summer we've seen a significant uplift in terms of rate hike expectations You've only got to look at the 5 year yield since the beginning of October We've gone from below 1% to be trading at 1.32% So that gives you an indication of how much the discussion has moved What I've actually been quite impressed by that John is the resilience of equity markets despite those rise in yields Well let's take up the NASDAQ tech for instance and the sell off we've seen there Does that indicate that investors are starting to question the future growth what they're willing to pay for future growth I think there will always be that discussion I think at this point in time I think it's a little bit too early to come to that conclusion One thing that I think the last 6 months has taught me is how fickle the investor sentiment can be And we are still within touching distance of the highs earlier this month So I don't think we're ready to have that discussion yet The U.S. economy is in fairly decent shape You're certainly seeing that in the context of the retail sales numbers People always always want to spend money around Thanksgiving and Christmas I think over the course of the next week or so we'll get a better idea of where investor sentiment is because I think it was a holiday period coming up You're going to get quite a bit of portfolio readjustment And just a 30 seconds To what extent are rates still in the driver's seat for equities I think they are in the driver's seat at the moment I think if we get further upside in rates then we could start to see a tipping point reached the move higher in the dollar could start to become a headwind I don't think we're there yet But I think if you're a dollar starts to head towards one ten then that could well be a catalyst for further risk aversion certainly we're seeing a little bit of it today But certainly nothing to be overly concerned about at the moment Okay real quick Don't hate me but I'm going to ask you a yearend prediction S&P 500 I think 4600 4600 We've had a good run but I think we could see a bit of consolidation of these sorts of levels Right now on 46 73.

"Welcome to NFL live presented by KFC. The bucks won big on Monday Night Football, but the headlines all about the Giants, glad you're with us on a busy Tuesday dinner orlowski Ryan Clark are here. We've also got Marcus spears and Mina Kim's Diana russini will join us a little bit later, but let's begin with the breaking news here. Everything about the Giants. They fired their offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. This in the wake of a 30 to ten lost to the bucks and continuing offensive struggles, the Giants of average 18.9 points per game this season. That ranks 25th in the league. Giants head coach Joe judge was asked about the coaching before last night's game or after last night's game before today's news on Garrett. Take a listen to what he had to say then. Yeah, put that on down. You can put that down tonight. At that, you guys can write that tonight. All right. Now the player's got to execute. That's their job, right? Our job to teach them is their job to go out there and execute. But we've got to make sure we keep putting on a position to have success. And it's got to be consistently that way. So, you know, you can go and write that down, and I'm not going to debate that. I faith in all those people on our team. Players coached everything. But look, we'll assess everything as a team make any move we need to go forward. I'm not going to go into that right now. Very telling, all right, so Daniel Jones produced 24 touchdown passes as a rookie, but he's thrown 20 over the last two seasons combined with Jason Garrett as OC, Jones hasn't really improved situationally under Garrett, struggling greatly to operate effectively out of play action as well as when he's blitzed. And when it comes to finishing drives, Jones has the second worst QBR over the last two seasons in the red zone. We start with you, Marcus spears. Did this move make sense for the Giants? Yeah, I did. It did. It was time. It was stale. It needed some nuance to this offense. Look, we've been on this show since the beginning of the season. We've talked about offenses that have the ability to be multiple. We've talked about creativity and the things that you need in order to win in today's NFL and the New York Giants just didn't have it. And when you look at the talent and the things that were available, you see some guys that have dynamic playmaking ability on this football team. And I believe Jason Garret just played it close to the best. Look, jeez, my guy. He coached in Dallas. He was my head coach. When I was in Dallas, but his offense was still. That's the bottom line. And look, this is the progression as well, okay? You drafted a quarterback number 6 overall a few years ago, Dave got him. He's probably gonna be the last guy to go. There are going to they are going to try to figure out things of how to help Daniel Jones potentially. And then if that doesn't work then it'll fall on Daniel Jones shoulder. But this is the line of attrition that takes place when you have an offense that has no juice. Yeah, and we look at this team and you think about this offense, it really took on the personality of Jason Garrett and Jason Garrett as the guy I play with early on in my career. Great man. Good friend. Awesome teammate. Born as hell. And that's what this offense was. This offense was boring. This offense didn't have any creativity. This offense didn't make you look at it and think explosiveness, right? Or think, you know what? How do I stop them? Which way are they going to attack me? Because you knew each and every week. And when you get rid of Jason Garrett first, it makes me think that you believe you do have playmakers. You believe you do have pieces and they're doing they're just not working. So damn, when you look at this offense, was his largest failure, not putting the players that were assembled in the right positions to succeed. I think that's a big part of it. You talk about some of the skill position guys because I think the skill position is too talented for this offense to be too bad. They paid a ton of money for Kenny gallaudet. They use Kenny Kenny gallaudet in the wrong way. Like I would be using Kenny gallaudet, almost like the Cardinals used Deandre Hopkins. Just go out there, see if you can win on two or three rounds once. We're just gonna throw you kind of in Detroit. Right. You know, could there is Tony. I would be using canary's Tony like Kyle Shanahan uses debo Samuel. How many different ways can I just give you the football Shep? I would use views and Shep like the bills that they use Cole Beasley. But it all comes down to Daniel Jones in his lack of development or them helping him develop. The problem with Daniel is he's still makes the same mistakes way too routinely that he did coming out of college. That interception last night is the perfect example of the number one flaw of him coming out of college was panicking with the football. And there's that moment it's like for me it's the anti Joe burrow where you know we've seen two consistently where Daniel panics with the football. It's who he was coming out of school and it hasn't gotten better. And I don't think that they certainly don't believe Jason Garrett the guy to believe that they can fix it out of the quarterback. Yeah, you know, I think you can look at this a few different ways. You know, maybe it's just that Jason Garrett's the only piece of this or maybe this is the beginning of steps of the Giants are going to take, you know, Mina, do you expect the Giants to sort of blow this whole thing up and start fresh next year or some of these pieces, salvageable in your mind? Well, to me, it all starts with the Daniel Jones question as to whether or not you move forward with him, your quarterback. And there are kind of two schools of thought on this. You hear some people say, how can you even evaluate this guy because of the pieces around him, the lack of protection, which was notable last night, in some of the issues of play calling. And then you have people saying, well, what Dan just said, which is we're talking about a player who was unfortunately still making the same mistakes he did as a rookie. I mean, that intersection is obviously one of the worst interceptions I've seen all season. My feeling is both of those things are true and ultimately both fall at the feet of the general manager. Dave gettleman, because not only did he draft Daniel Jones, I take a lot of people by surprise. He also put together this football team. There has been a lot of mistakes in the draft over the years preceding Daniel Jones with the saquon Barkley pick all the way up to signing Kenny gallaudet and I agree as a good player, but they signed him to a contract that frankly didn't make sense, given the wide receiver market. Look, gentlemen has made some good decisions. I think the Bradbury signing, James Bradbury, the cornerback stands out, some decent draft picks, but at the end of the day, this is his football team. And the football team just isn't good enough. So Freddie kitchens appears to be the likely successor to Jason Garrett's play color. I will tell you this. Kitchens with 5 and three after digging over his play color for the browns in 2018. Can't make this up. We're just getting started here on NFL live. "But i think that this will be close and i think they'll have the ball with a chance to do something late. I don't know if that means tie win. They think they'll play hard. And no keep score. Dale play hard. They all be. They'll keep the score and seven points is a lot if the other team scores. Seventeen is this a referendum for jason garrett. Oh yea for jason garrett it could be a referendum game yeah it could be listen if they come out and score six points thirteen points in his game than yeah you'll be fired referendum spot. I the giants plus seven competent. I know he's going to get. I don't know i mean on. What are you supposed to say. All right so i do have my pets. Kirk cousins gonna be running for his life against the cleveland browns defense. So i'm actually gonna go kirk cousins over six and a half rushing yards. They at some point. He's going to have to the half. Yeah he's going to have to escape and run he'll slide for like a gain of eight one time in the game at least go against that or is that goes gets passed and it goes against passing. I believe it's like when you take a knee goes against rushing yards. Yes so he'll be fine. Could you imagine that you got your at seven and a half yards rushing and he takes two knees settled. Losing happy argues. Didn't that happen brady account. It absolutely threes in a row and he lost three yards. I'm confident he's not going to be taken to the needs because they're gonna lose. So that's fine kirk cousins overnight over six and a half rushing yards of remember. Yours gonna take justin. Herbert over the amount of passing yards that was listed why there was who ninety two and a half on monday night football..

And what's that what that means teams litter. Oh and two in real life. And what that means plus the return of the danny dimes turnover totem. I saw t-shirt on. I wanted to start with this guy. I didn't want to start with me. Touting thirty five to one Prop i wanted to start with this. I saw t shirt that said. Let danny dime love. It love it. Let danny who created that is dad. A it's a it's a pro giants podcast really. Yeah pro giants okay. Because i thought the anti anti anti jason garrett and if you're not you're obviously not getting the memos it's all about jason. Sharon cared is clearly the boy to the point of and i've never seen this kenny golladay. I had in my giants notes. But let's get to it now okay. Kenny golladay clarify that. In fact no. He was not yelling at daniel jones. He was in fact. Yelling and jason garrett that's how he he knows the city and the polls he has a finger on the pulse to the point where he knows. Oh just shut on jason garrett. Everyone is going to. it's okay. If you're yelling at jason garrett the fans have your back. it's kind of true I think like. I've been telling you as power shifts into judges hands. The ownership is starting to see. Wow maybe what he's saying is right. The two marks to ownership marks. David gettleman coach jason garrett and like you said read between the lines when you got a a stud wide receiver clarifying that. He was coming at the o c. Not the quarterback. We're we're talking about kenny. Golly who's who's received stop it. Oh i can't wait. I mean he's gonna have a game. This week sean. So that's fine. You can stand on your parade. You said changing you see that instagram picture. Fucking stuff. all right he is he. He's a star lane. He is off the field. I will give him that. Okay kramer you got the them. I think that will help the mojo. You hit on air jones after one. Thirty five to one on the monday night Props recap episode so. Hopefully you guys cut down on that. I went three. You know with my monday night props but still we need to do something to address the mo jo and shout listener. I didn't see it was on slacker. Twitter i miss his name but he said did i miss the football song and every nfl. Week one i do the football song to get people ready for football however we are in the win. Betting studio did not have did not have access to my soundboard rhyme. he's in. The studio was amazing. But i honestly it's nice to have the soundboard. I'm told we will have access to the samborn. Next time doesn't matter what does matter is here to cleanse the mo jo to get everything back on track ball. Let's go football football football. Football ball papa. Great guys we had one of their traders on episode one great people to work with and they got a bunch of fun promos including this week's triple the spread right the packers instead of plus three and a half over on when bet exclusively on win bet you can get plus ten and a half make sure you head over and get down on that as well. What else do we got a couple couple of notes to get into. Before we start giving out the picks ryan we gave the officials a lot of shit and i think rightly so what one thing i liked last year not that the eagles before eleven and one but i enjoyed it felt like they went out of their way not to call penalties. And this year. It's been the exact opposite haunting shit. Kills me well the tawny shit but it. It seems like it's everything in in two thousand twenty seven weeks. There was never weakened when two hundred penalties were assessed. The highest was week two of last year at one ninety eight this season so far officials assess two hundred and fourteen penalties in week. One two hundred twenty one in week two. What what the fuck is going on. This is really getting insane. Well i think much like you know the data the we look at much like the. Ats records all that. Good stuff. I think once you have a couple weeks you can go from saying one data point two two now the league and say hey guys. Let's tone this shut down a little bit. Yeah let's relax. We see if nfl does one thing. Well is correct quickly when they've made a mistake they don't say they made a mistake. Now with the mistake just disappears jason garrett fallen off a boat in the middle of the middle of the atlantic. I think what we're going to see and we might see the over correction And i don't know if it's this week or next but we're going to see one of those weeks where they look like. There's going to be complaints about things not being called. Yeah it's just better so at the end of the day. No one likes to see these penalties and interesting angles. I'll be hitting on. Some of these are boy. Moon off montages hanging out. In the chad of course host of the Co op cast. Mlb cast again. The mike trout of degeneracy year. Yes exactly he. He's fired back up. "The giants fans now one thing is they can easily still win the division the nfc. I don't believe in any of these teams including the eagles including the cowboys not yet. But how about this j try this. If they continue this way right now they have currently the number one and number three overall picks in this draft. Obviously they're the only team that's owen to with week to underway. They also own the bears first round pick from the justin fields trade and right now. The bears have picked. Third of the season ended today by the way. That's matt bishop. Who came up with that or director. thank you matt. Long way to go but that at some point is going to be good news. Sound like a suffering giant fan. You ain lion the bad news for the giants. Kenny holiday only had three catches for thirty eight yards and was seen yelling in daniel jones direction near the bench in the closing minutes of the game. Here is danny dimes. Downplaying the disagreement you know he was frustrated. The situation i don't really think it was To me Or anyone in particular. So i think You know we're all good and love kenny. I thought he played hard and A lot of good things out there. Yeah coach speak from the quarterback. I've had a few of those. I had a few of those yelling moments in my day. But it certainly was not quarterback taking care of you like with daddy dive says well you know it wasn't toward anybody know it was. It was somebody who came to office coordinator or the quarterback got it torrent. Somebody look quarterback takes care of you as a team man. Not but you gotta get hoping yeah. You gotta get oakland muslim. But there's so many flare-ups happened throughout the course of a game. Man like for me as an athlete. He will come out. I'm fine. he can't win. I wanna win to. And i don't take that stuff personally. You're in battle sometimes thinking here. I don't care about that though. Max you watch sports enough to know you screaming yellow people because at the end of the day you trying to help your team win and if you think you give them the best chance to win one thousand years on do you need to do. There's no question about it. I think everyone's like that. I think some dudes are and some dudes are just driven by their own personal stuff. Yeah but i would argue against that or communicate against that say that convert it seems as though is self but it's not you because if you're drafting me and i'm playing for you and me money but you're not utilizing me you are going to think i'm a bomb meaning of fan and you're going to be like man do if i'm not doing my job the problem with gala days they targeted you eight times every ball when over your head and every ball wouldn't in the dirt i watched you get strapped several routes. You've got to separate now. I'm going to agree against that key. I'm going to agree on this show against that with with this. I think it's hard for you to understand because you had a reputation of being selfish at times and having an ego but in fact i got an ego but look but you were. You're a team player and you were willing to do things. Bill parcells on the show yesterday. The dirty work. Whatever it took you do but not everybody is like that. And i think it's hard for you to identify with a player who might be more like that and the question for me about golladay. If he's yelling adjacent garrett's direction. I'm okay with that. It's going to happen. The reason the reason. I'm covered the way i'm covered strapped as you say is because xyz but if he's directing that tour daniel jones 'cause daniel jones nothing wrong with what he was doing yesterday if he's directing that toward daniel jones when he's got a got was the big free agent acquisition and daniel jones was was danny dimes yesterday. Then i got a problem. Well he's got to get open if he's open and he feels like he's open and he's not getting the ball then you gotta communicate which quarter but he won open. Was he several times. He wasn't now he might have been opened on other stuff that i didn't see but a couple of times he ran some rowson like man they just pay for that sterling. Shepherd has no problem running. Routes no no kenny. Golladay to me when you pay him that type of money and he's supposed to be a high price free agent you bring in to be your number one guy eight targets in three. No some some may right. That's what exactly it feels like though right like if you dig strapped up. If you don't feel like you're making a place you should make like. That's your way of unleashing like this. You're unleashing don't directed at tacoma saying you know mexico this right. I never got on my quarterback. Come out always got on the coordinators. All i'm going to say is there a lot of times as a point guard that things shouldn't have been directed towards me but i get the ball in my hands so i'm the easier part. That is the league is all right. Fine go get where it is in the figure it out. That's good insight. It's going to happen with territory. Whatever i yelled at. The quarterback quarterback was making an excuse. Not because he wasn't trying to give me the ball. Whenever i had an issue took issue with not getting the ball took issue with the coordinators. Because i knew the plays that was designed the res for one two to three when you put me in the third spot. He ain't getting over there to me. Why am i not once by that. That's the only time that you take issue. And then mostly was with the coordinators at head coach. That's but it just looks from that video like directing it daniel jones. Let's take some calls on the giants guys before chris. Canty joins us in virginia beach. Wrong with keyshawn. J. william max. Hey hey good morning guys. Taking the call waiting for a long time. Sorry about your no problem. No problem i just wanna bring this point up two points. And i'm out of here. I point near what the game lost the game last night. I'm a military guy retire. Cw four cheap. One officer navy. I got about on the service cruises. Nope thank you. Thank you for thanking me. I take him out on cruise. And i always tell them. This plane breaks down in the air. The pollock can't pull off on sided trade the tire so i always tell them focused and disciplined. Those are two things last night's game to me with a focus in a discipline game the teen to focus at the last second one the game. Now we've been talking about something totally different today if you would wouldn't have got all sides Miss that i feel go so that goes back to the you. Call that on the coast. You call it on the player to do you call on an ownership. It goes down to a little bit of all three. You know the drills may be needs to be a little tight like he say. I played football in high school. And yeah right after practice. We used to run them saying drills. I'm to the point where we got in fight. When guys didn't did outside we had to go back ten fifteen yard even basketball the same sprint. When you didn't touch the line to go back and do it again. So that's why. I want to go with that. We're heineke I watch the play ball down here but then you beat because he played it. Oh did you. We can win with him but he can't be a gunslinger like years. The defensive got stop them on third down. I'll be going to be killed again. you know. Washington gotta play football in four phases death special teams offense defense and and put you know that you know the case..

"I mean seriously. I mean i don't know how you can be worried about dak prescott or anything. I mean the offense was amazing. Let's see here mark. Thank you for the super chat. Aloha aloha to you aloha. Hello not aloha. Back shot to sandra bullock. How do you think the tampa. Db injuries had a lot to do with our yardage defensive line. All can't create pressure is good enough to win not even divine. I think that. I think tom brady. Is tom brady. And you know we. We had this point. Brought up already in davis one of our great writers of blogging boys dot com. I mean he's incredible. They talked about us on the broadcast. He you know had the second quickest released in the nfl. I mean he is the fourth release. The nfl xtra had the second estedat. But i mean that's tough and that's you know that explain some of it right. That explains seventy percent of it. But there's another thirty percent that you control right like you know. It isn't just while he's amazing so like that's going to happen right. There is a percentage you control and so the fact that the cowboys defense got skunk tonight in the sack department is frustrating as far as tampa injuries. I don't think so. I think the cowboys receivers are that good. I really think that they are amazing. And i think that they you know they showed off tonight. Thank you to johnny heller for the super cha There's not a question here. But you're the man Let's see here johnny again with the. Let's see we got a couple more here. Alex pearce ling says jason garrett health kallenbach. Callan is amazing. We have not brought up the name. Kelly moore cowboys offense. Let's see here. Let me pull this up Cowboys offense finished with a billion yards. But let's see here cowboys. Offense had twenty one passing. First downs four rushing first downs in case you're like a person of the mindset like we need to run more but tampa had twenty two passing first and only one russian i down so i'm not exactly a ton of russian happening over there either. Cow nine seventeen on third down four hundred fifty one total yards thirteen. Total dry five point nine yards per play tampa had six point seven for what it's worth. I mean you know it's it's tough only once one total sec in this game Which is kind of amazing when you really think about it but Cowboys finished the night with penalties. Tampa had eleven But the red zone is what people have brought up. I agree with you alex. That cowan was amazing. Kellyn was awesome. The pitch play tony part happened in the non pitch was sick. I mean we saw a lot of tony. Paula of kellen moore tonight really kind of flexing his muscle. The boy wonder. I don't know if everyone agrees with this. But i feel like he looks like jimmy neutron. That's who reminds me of. But i mean i totally agree that jason garrett held him back however a lot of us if you have been around cowboys internet for a long time really wondered why the cowboys held onto kellyanne more the player for as long as they did and jason garrett was a big part of that. And so i. I'm not trying to like praise jason garrett but he he was instrumental in kellen moore becoming a part of the organization. So i don't wanna like totally trash him but but yeah i mean he definitely. Jason garra preferred scotland han at a certain point over. You know calamar which is difficult to understand. Johnny super chat three bucks. Appreciate you johnny. You are the best. I let's see here. Whoa our biggest super chat everywhere ever israel everybody round of applause to israel. Thank you so much really appreciate it says. Overall the cowboys did great. In my opinion. I agree with this in the general sense. It's the first time they all play together in a live game. Rj talking to me. You need to be more critical and verbal about what the cowboys do. Wrong don't be shy. I i think. I'm being kind of critical. Maybe not maybe. Maybe that's not. What's happening here. But i do think i think this was a positive step. I mean again. Depending on you know what sportsbook you looked at over the course of the last week here. Todd favor failures is cowboys suck. That's me being more critical. But no i think they played again. They were seven and a half eight nine. This spread climbed up to ten points to the cowboys covered. If you've been on the cowboys. I advise this decision. If you watched our preview video here on the boys youtube channel. I did advise. You know taking the cowboys here. So you're welcome. Maybe that's where all the super chats are coming from here But i mean while this is positive and it's nice and i certainly think copies are going to beat the chargers i mean. I think it's important to remember what the cowboys have going on. After they played the chargers cowboys get to play the eagles on monday night. Football somehow someway. We wound up an eagles fans by the way here in our stream. This particular evening. This particular thursday night and i i know i said somehow some way but it's because eagles fans have no life. Eagles fan. Cow was the rent-free in eagles fans heads. So what's up. He fans hope it works out for you this year. Jalen hurts but you've already kind of ruined your football life for other while But so anyway. It's there's positive there's positively to in this game..

"Anyway speaking of the nfl on the show sometimes around this time of year or earlier in the air we play a game where we try to figure out what we have retained slash even learn in the first place about coach movement. Oh no. I'm not doing that game. I am not ready instead. I get on through using wikipedia. So i apologize if these are slightly inaccurate. But it's high fault. I've gone through the coaching staffs of the nfl. And i have trivia questions for you based on that information. This is like i would say largely college football jason. Some of it's not but it should be people that you are like hopefully Vaguely aware of i have four categories. So and i'm gonna let you work at his work as a team to see how you can do your involved as well ari. The four categories have been dropped into our group chat Holly i'm gonna let you make i pick as to category. I'll read the question. We'll go from there or category. Oh i thought were just yelling at an early. I thought you were talking shit. Yeah what is here in. Can i read the whole issue or everybody understands in the group chat for this episode. There is just in all caps. These four missives from ryan. The student becomes the teacher. My dad owns the dealership. Update your resume which is said to all of us during the show and i also on mine. It has even more. It says the student becomes the teacher. Whoops explained all right. I choose three of a kind because i don't think i understand. What the category is this. The this is the shortest question. Three of a kind. What you jason garrett. Derek dooley and jeremy pruitt all have in common fight. Why are you triggering me. General general education level yes. They all went to harvard what. Nfl quality. Do they all have in common cowboys coaches at one time or another incorrect. Does anybody else want to venture a second guess so nfl quality so you said that they have an nfl quality. They lost all of these. These all going to nfl nfl oriented questions. What nfl quality. Do they all have in common. Jason garrett derek dooley jeremy is not a college question. This is not a college question interesting. Yeah i pass. I've no clue serbs. You wanna throw out. I have no clue at all. And they are all presently employed by the new york giants these everywhere shitting on the jets when freddie freddie kitchens is also one of their colleagues the new york giants have you read. The rest of the giants staff is sounds terrible. I won't do that. Because that sounds cursed unlocks this giant. Some kind of super soldier tell you that the you sounded very much like gene from bob's burgers there and i think it was exactly the right tone to take how effective that is bone chilling ryan. Thank that's horrifying. Most mostly should be less less horrifying than that. Jason wanna pick a category. The student becomes the teacher right. I'm gonna give you a list of five former college. Quarterbacks your job as a team is to tell me which one is not an active. Qb's coach in the nfl. Right now. five names here. They come ken. Dorsey okay. Chase daniel mike kafka charlie fry and mark brunell. Wow which one is not an active quarterbacks coach in the nfl. say caffeine. because northwestern. but i don't feel like i've heard a peep out of chase daniel and like ten years. Isn't he still. doesn't he. Still an actual quarterback in the. Nfl is he. He's still on the drawing contracts. Yeah i think he's still in the league living the dream he's the new chimps orgy. Congratulate mark brunell stands out a little bit here because like he actually played actual football. I'm gonna. I'm gonna put cast my vote for kafka because i feel like he would pointedly take his north western education elsewhere. Of course he chose to play north western football. Maybe a judgment is suspect. You guys have an answer your coalescing around now. I would probably vote for either daniel or brunell just because Brunell doesn't feel like a fit with the others. it's i could very well be brunell. I think it's chase daniel also mark brunell like at one point with superwealthy and then i think the financial crisis completely wiped out so i had to go back into coaching. So i mean as dan. Okay should keep the fourth string quarterback for one hundred years. I don't know server has correctly. Identified that chase. Daniel is still in the league. He's that's right okay for the. La chargers Mark roe is the cubeys coach in detroit. where now. I have to look this up. Crisis did not touch him. That sounds right He has house right on his staff as well. with him. "Guys and we say good to see you jason. So this was originally before. I don't know maybe it was before the video came out. There was a tweet that kind of repeated the interaction that he said good to see you and then the reporters had responded with a good to see you in person jason and he said good to see you. Coach is how we say it around here which reads when you read it. That as if he was saying. Call me coach. You better call me coach watching the video. It does sort of seem no mean a. You've got like inside info on this so you can cleared up but it does kind of seem like maybe he was hoping everybody would have quickly responded. Hey good to see a coach. But i don't know you're right. This is a great example. I think of watching the video versus reading the transcript and why that matters 'cause intonation matters in talking to people who covered jason garrett in dallas like like what we call them jason all the time. It wasn't a big deal. It is about him doing a corny dad thing that is what this is where he says like good night. Where's my good night and honey mike. That is what this is like. He says good to see you and he wants people to say good to see you coach or whatever back meena has sources close to the situation who wanna make it very clear. The jason garrett is just a lame dad death reporting we have jason garrett is no. He's just already i why and i empathize with that. I resemble that increasingly as the father of a daughter. I feel that in fact it does remind me about parents and stuff. The truth for me is like i will call you whatever you want me to call you. I don't really care the one thing. I will not call you if you request is if you are the parent of one of my friends and you say oh call me jim. Non colony. Jim not calling you. Jim mister zero. Yeah no no no no very uncomfortable with that. Yeah we can't be friends. You're my friend's dad. You are like my step away from being like my uncle. You're not my friend jim. Yeah i can't call my people call their own parents. Their first name is. I mean well i had to because i mine. "When i asked him to explain. What those targets were. Bobby you know. We talked about the buying of this team the in this off season in having those guys there and he said some of his targets were it'll participation and he said the last five weeks since they broke many camps in otas. The by has been incredible They did have significantly better job. Virtually it felt like an even. Mike mccarthy admitted at points last year it was something he absolutely hated. And so i think when you were trying to change that defensive scheme lot of the players we heard late and vander during mini camps. Not as it wasn't that the scheme was hard it was implementing the scheme and even they said they tried to do too much too soon on that front might record the touch on the fact that they were able to get all of their installs. And i couldn't figure out if he's i wanna say said virtually all eighty installs. Does that make sense. That i am out of instanbul. Remember that reference specifically. I'd have to go back and listen to it. But i mean i was like. Are we talking eight or as much as we always used to complain about jason garrett being cagey and like short on details mike mccarthy has taken that to a whole new level so. I'm not certain that even whatever he said even if we go back and listen to exactly what is that. It probably wouldn't make a ton of sense. And i think that's on purpose. Well listen. I do think you know what i talked to some of these other teams. That didn't have the total buy in for some of the. Ot as you know..

I'm gonna put you on hold as how where your works here because we got to take a commercial break, but before we get to that commercial break Let me give out the phone number for Pierce capes because Jason Garrett, the new owner, he's kind of explained everything on an overview and little state of the union on where Pierce Cape stands, even though new ownership as you know, Tom Pierce is still there. Dallas Cowboys fire defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula

"Do have some breaking news on friday afternoon. The first friday after the dallas cowboys season ended an unfortunate start the new year for their staff. That dallas cowboys. Making some you know some obvious news in a bit of surprise news the dallas cowboys announcing that defensive coordinator. Mike nolan defensive. Line coach jim. Tom soula have been let go. Have been whatever you wanna call it fire to buy the team. They will not be back in two thousand and twenty one. Mike nolan obviously oversaw. One of the worst defenses to ever live ever played in the nfl. And so we'd heard. Rumblings obviously had been reported different instances over kind of the last month that it was likely he was not going to be back although mike nolan. If you're somehow unaware is is rather chummy with mike mccarthy dallas cowboys head coach mike mccarthy they go way back in case. You forgot mike. Nolan was the head coach of the san francisco. Forty niners in two thousand and five and mike mccarthy offensive corner at the time that was of course the year. The forty niners took alex smith with a number one overall pick. Ironically the quarterback that won the division that they were together here. This season with the dallas cowboys. Jim thome soula was a head coach of the forty niners at one point in time himself albeit for only a year obviously following in the footsteps of jim harbaugh who got an extension today of all days again with the university of michigan so lots of symmetry going on here and so. Yeah i mean my canola thing. I think everybody saw coming a mile away. The jim thome solo thing is a bit of a surprise austin on youtube. Says i thought it said mccarthy and was like whoa still good to get rid of nolan and this is how every cowboys fan feels. And let's be frank. Let's be honest. We don't enjoy talking about people losing their jobs. People getting fired or things like that but this defense was among the worst again in the history of this game. The dallas cowboys last week. With their season on the line against an offense that had been anemic for most of the season the new york giants that was incidentally again. You talk about all. The irony here led by former dallas cowboys head coach jason garrett in the giants offensive coordinator who again to go kind of crazy circle reportedly had an interview today on friday with the los angeles chargers for their head coaching vacancy. But the cowboys new york with their season on the line and they got run over. I mean the new york giants before last week against the cowboys. The previous four games. The giants had not scored more than three points in a single first half in each of the four games. The giants played before the cowboys. They went into the locker room at halftime with no more than three points. They put twenty up in the first half against the cowboys. And that was kind of what the season was for the cowboys right. This never ending display of imperfection this never ending run of records getting broken records getting set and i just you know this was inevitable. I mean shutout. Of course to the all encompassing thanos. I mean this truly was inevitable. Reality a lotta people myself. Included wondered what took so long this week. It's a pair at the mike mccarthy and his staff overall were evaluating things doing kind of the final walk throughs and assessments in whatever time just came for them to move

"Way have a lot of work to do on. I recognize that and it's important for For me to get away the information. Other this evaluation process. So you know I could sit down with Jerry and And we can. We could set the course map out the future Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy going through the process with his players right now, the evaluation process to see how they can improve on this season. After finishing this past season. It's six and 10 good morning from our WB AP Sports Desk of 14 teams getting ready for games in the playoffs this weekend. Dallas, though yesterday cleaning out their lockers at the star in Frisco. McCarthy addressing number of topics and meeting with the media. And of course we didn't hear from the GM of the team. Jerry Jones, the guy the Jerry fired last year, head coach, Jason Garrett. Good beginning a second chance to run a team again. Alan his own. The LHR charges have formally requested permission to talk with Garrett, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Giants this past season. Last night down in Houston. Look a dot It's had his a game. 33 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists and helping the Mavs beat the Rockets won 13 100 defensively. Is where we're gonna, you know, make make our ground this year. That's just how it's gonna be. And they played some good defense. Rick Carlisle close game late before Dallas went on the run to put it away. We finally heard from former Texas Longhorns coach Tom Herman sort of Herman, who was fired over the weekend released a short statement through his wife's Twitter page expressing his gratitude. Players and staff, saying Texas will also always hold a special place in his heart. He could end up depending on what happens in Tennessee coaching the volunteers. "For my studio's right here in the Metroplex on Real News and information. 5 70 Kayla. Well three weeks ago two weeks ago, even just one week ago, it was this for the Dallas Cowboys. So you're telling me there's a chance Yeah. Yeah, but not now. 2020 seasons done. If the Cowboys Steve Lamb joining us, it has what? Oh, gosh, I have been here. 34 coming up on 35 years. That's a lot of cowboys football to why that is. That's the highs and there were some for those of you listening. But there have been a lot more lows now than high this year was when Dak Prescott went down. That was it. We kissed the season Goodbye. We had such great expectations a year ago. But doesn't that make his? Uh He's a lot more worthy. Now he could ask for more money. Well, he's probably most people think he will get the franchise tag. So Had this. When do this Accounting Amy? He's a 32 right now is the franchise that number will jump to like 39. He said. You're the reason I'm asking is because of with the the Loss in in profits for the NFL in the NFL teams that they're talking about putting your lowering the cap. Okay, so okay, So he's 35 million. Alright, that's still that they offered him 100 million. That's still a good neighborhood. Well, they're not going to do that now because they're worried about this. They want to make sure he's 100% right before they give him all the money, right? I thought things would be different with Mike McCarthy. Somebody pointed out a few weeks ago that wouldn't it be ironic? If Jason Garrett for years it seemed like it came down to that final Sunday of the season, right, and he some how would blow it and the season would go down the toilet? Well there. Jason Garrett was yesterday on the other side, screwing up the Cowboys and bring up the cowboy tweeted. Something really funny about that yesterday. I'm going to try and find him to continue. I thought things would be different for Mike McCarthy. He probably thought things would be different. He had a a year off and he comes back. But No quarterback to lead his team, and it just went south. It's disappointing that way. Didn't come out here today with the wind. You know, there's there's There's some struggles during the course of the game, but, you know, guys fought We're down to the end. I'm you know, I'm just important for him. I think like all of us to a man way felt confident coming in here that we'd be able to come out here today with the victory now doesn't make you feel better than even if they would have won the game. Washington one last night, so would have made any difference with American. They're still sitting at home. In Washington is going to be sitting at home in two weeks. Why it'll be probably next. I haven't seen the schedule yet, but it could be by next Saturday. Yeah, I thought I thought it was two weeks off. They're gonna be finished. I found the tweet from Desmond Purnell. He said. Yet another season Jason Garrett has taken the Dallas Cowboys out of playoff contention. Very You go. There you go. Z. Kelly didn't help now. Well, you gotta hurt again. You're gonna go from strain. You're gonna go quiet. Whatever you want to say. 14 carries 42 yards. You can't hurt. Don't get on the field. I agree with that. You cannot minimize the The severity of the injuries that the Cowboys have suffered this year it and it's fine to say all teams have injuries, but you don't lose three all pros from the from the offensive line mostly well, they did. Yeah, it's the curse of I don't know what the curses from 2020 whatever he is the way I watched most of that game, But I don't have no idea what the final score was. You don't even have a look room quick. They fell behind the way it was typical Cowboys football falling behind early and then they had to play catch up 23 to 19. If you had money bet on the game and you were trying to cover this friend. Here's the veteran on defense, Sean Lane. It's heartbreaking and stuff. Proud of how hard we fought down the stretch here on it's one of those things where you have a lot of hope you come into this game. You thinking, get it done and Yeah, we fell a little short, but I'm still proud, proud of the group and I love playing with him. We're going to say right way felt short. I'm still proud of the group and They will do something next year. That's your Cowboys. Here It is. 7 56. Let's get an update on traffic..

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line In Flux Due To Injuries

"Have lots of talk about as it relates the cowboys I just what I think of this team this year and the expectations after Jerry Jones finally made the gutting decision that led to Jason Garrett showing up the building every day with a binder underneath his arm and dutifully hoping that he would. Get a stay of execution cowboy fan celebrated not only the draft pick a CD lamb but a coach was skins. Mike McCarthy hasn't exactly translated into the season that they had hoped for, and we're expecting some of it has to do with injuries bobby and we'll get to those in a second but a lot of teams are having to deal with injuries this year. Yeah. I, mean, the team the cowboys have up here the browns they've got a lot of injuries to deal with I. Mean The seahawks had you know a lot of patchwork stuff that they were doing last Sunday against the cowboys and so injuries are an excuse they're not necessarily a good excuse though for this cowboys team I think they, they definitely are missing some guys. They probably feel a little bit like we're not gonNA know who we are for real until probably mid October when randy gets reinstated fully you get hopefully late and vander aeschbacher. Corner start getting healthy so. It may be a situation where the cowboys are kind of you know we're GONNA fight and we're GONNA get as best we can until we get healthy and that's not necessarily an excuse that they're giving. It's just this is the way it's gotta be, and we kind of make do a little bit because they are decimated in the secondary. They've had issues at linebacker they've you know had the issues along the offensive line they lost jar when they're starting tight end and So I, mean they've definitely. Had those issues the thing that they don't want. You, you can't really do anything about injuries. You just adapt as best. You can the thing they don't want his they can't have. Three drops and you know two and a half yards per touch from Zeke Elliott. They can't have Jalen Smith missing tackles consistently and still be sixty million dollar guy they can't have. Dak Prescott turning the ball over. They need to have him protecting the ball. They can't have you know some of these. Occasional Amari Cooper focus drops. You expect injuries you deal with those. What you can have is all of that and then along in the secondary, you can't have guys just making really low I q reads and busted covered just stuff that doesn't seem to be a factor of trying to learn a new defense. This just seems like flat out low I q stuff of not recognizing who's assignment is who's You know I think back to Jalen Smith's comment to a about. Throwing it out through a little bit. Maybe they need to simplify the playbook if our fans aren't familiar with that one, let's play that one real quick. People, find beams the defense could innocent the group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I. Believe. Allowing more allowing US more opportunities to Hound in on what? We're actually going to run in in our game plan. I believe it's important. That each and every player knows in and out what they have to do. With a smaller playbook, you you know gives us better opportunity to do that. And like I said this about as growing each and every week. On coaches are the same page, the players on the same page and we're just trying to do whatever it takes to get that much better. Each and everyone is that players that aren't capable of learning the playbook or is it possibly too complicated? I don't know but I, got to tell you for all the people that wanted Rod. Marinelli Outta here have been overly impressed with Mike Nolan's defense. Again, injuries are an issue, I mean you lose Gerald McCoy loosely Van Deresh. You lose your to starting Corner Anthony Brown, and Lucy, but even they were healthy in that first game. I didn't think this team look that good. No, and you know it's again it's one of those things where not even a mention he's been healthy for the season but Jordan Lewis missed all the camp. I. Sale. Yeah. Exotic Woods was a big part of your problem last Sunday against the seahawks but I think overall everybody's got to step up. You know it's funny. We had Had the funny line during training camp. When asked him do you think about opting out at all and he said, Nope, contract to your baby and there's a lot of guys back there right now in contractors Jordan Lewis Cheeto you've got exertive your woods is another one. And it's fascinating that they're seeming to have these issues not just with again, the adjustment or or or skill players opposite them it's they're just dropping the ball in terms of. Knowing really basic fundamental stuff that that should have been all ironed out already and and you can say, maybe that's a a an issue with you didn't have some of the same lead up time or some of the same work that you would normally get but everybody had those same sort of issues and and not everybody is having these same sorts of just busted coverage touchdowns. I. Think there's four already on the year that were just left wide open by somebody not knowing an assignment including three last week against the

Jimmy Johnson to enter Hall of Fame, but not in Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor

"Really truly believe. It's embarrassing for the Dallas Cowboys. That Jimmy is now a pro football hall of Famer and that it actually took this. You know a specific centennial annual class for him to get in and that he's not in the ring of honor that's it's it's a shame it really truly is yeah it is And and you know I don't know we don't know you know the behind the scenes of of all that but it certainly does you know put Put their among you know on the front of the The world stage just to you know. How do you explain this right? Yeah and the guys in the hall all of fame because of what he did in your organization. Yeah he's not what dozens yeah. Yeah no exactly You know so yeah I mean I I you know I agree with you and you know it's also you know kind of you know how like we always talk about things you can't plan you know the the same very same week that Jason Garrett Leave the organization. Mike McCarthy joins the organization and then Jimmy Johnson gets inducted into the pro football hall of fame. I mean you just can't plan that I mean and you know so here is McCarthy now you know he's now he's got you know quite a high standard To you know to shoot after and then you know I I wish him the all the success and hope he surpasses that but you you know. That's pretty high standard now. Yeah I WANNA get your. We've got a criminal out into the end here but to finish the tai-bo on the Jimmy Jerry. Thing it you're right like there could be. I mean because you know there's an infinite amount of possibilities or I guess it's technically fine but I mean there is potentially a reasonable or at least somewhat understandable reason. Why Jimmy Johnson's not during a fire like that possibility does exist? But you said it I mean you. CanNot it really explain this in all this does is really make Jerry. Jones look poorly. I don't think you know I think that you look at it. I don't believe leaving Karma that's not like you know our faith or anything but I do think it's at the very least interesting that you know so you know because people say Jerry's there is only in the hall of fame because he stood on. Jimmy shows whatever but. I think it's funny that you know denied that Jerry was celebrated with cowboys fans at Agency stadium. Liam for going on you know when they give them their hall of fame ring. That night was the night. They lost to the eagles in two thousand seventeen. That's literally the worst loss ever in a ged stadium sister. You know what I mean. That's just a really funny coincidence. And you know you look at Gil Brandt who also took way too long to get him to honor and he just barely got in there before before he got into the hall of fame and at the time the writing was on the wall that he was going into the hall but Gil Brandt went in the night. They beat the saints in two thousand eighteen. You you know what I mean this like incredible night everyone will remember forever or as Jerry went on this one that everyone wants to forget and it just I think those are funny things that automatically you know make paint Jerry in a poor light or whatever he did release a statement And he said were so happy that the hall of fame has recognized. Jimmy Johnson. Awesome for what he is. That's the first sentence and it's just like well. Then how have you not you know. It's a really unsettling thing and I think that like like throwing a boomerang. Yeah it's a really a hypocrite. I don't know what word to use but it it looks really badly on the cowboys organization. That that it actually happened. I mean great for Jimmy Johnson. But you know you know. Somebody tweeted at us on the block on the boys camp. It said that Jerry should inductive an I vehemently disagree superior that the moment should belong to Jimmy and Jimmy alone because he did he has not gotten that do in cowboys fans. He should bathe in it all in his own. If he wants have his players you know like we talked triplets. Think that would be cool but this you know. It's a really really really bad season for Jerry. Jones the owner of the cowboys. And this is kind of the. You know the closing of that circle so to speak. Yeah no I totally agree and and the yeah. Yeah I mean I I think that You Know Jerry Has Been Very very kind of to due to Jimmy in terms of you know whatever success cowboys have had in terms of including hammer recognizing them for that in fact you know may have even gone out of his way to try tried to leave him out of it but You know this it's here is something he cannot ignore it. I mean it It's very vivid. Part of You know with the cowboys success is is due to and And Yeah I think it's Jimmy's opportunity. I'm you know Going there and enjoy the moment with themselves by you know himself on on a standalone basis as a as a dynamic coach that You know did some some pioneering things to change the game and I do believe that firmly

Cowboys to move on without Jason Garrett

"Jason Garrett's time up as coach of the Dallas Cowboys Edward a reporting Jerry Stephen Jones have decided coach will not be part of the organization moving forward on Friday and paid Simmons on why this process lasted so long after the season to other Jerry and Stephen Jones have moved slowly out of respect for Jason Garrett you know they have a long history with him as a backup quarterback you to this is that coach a head coach's father was in the organization when Jerry bapa team as a scout and they finally concluded that phase of this process and that's going to end with Jason Garrett not being a part of the organization beyond his expiring contract and when exactly they make that announcement I thought sure what I've been told soon and that the next phase will have them moving into the process of interviewing candidates in the battle begin quickly after phase one is totally finished off yes was contract set to expire January fourteenth status with the team at issue since last February the cowboys didn't give a contract extension they missed the playoffs in twenty nineteen finish eight neighbor the four time in his tenure as coach Keyshawn Johnson on the job candidates and Jerry Jones himself he was on sports and we stand ready to make a decision on it there was the eight their long term in the obvious would clearly felt that their work you say while they waited till Thursday well the food that just won't really it just is so you kind of say okay take a deep breath we get back to the facilities we talk about a little bit we think about we pondered overnight we need or Thursday we meet on Tuesday we meet on Wednesday we have a conversation and we finally so you know women the best thing for us to do if not give the public what they looking for what they looking for me to do is be extremely mad and walk out of there on Sunday night if fire you on the tarmac so instead of doing that this call wait a couple days are you playing for the cowboys you're familiar with Jerry Jones and and and his thinking all what happens next now in this search for the next cowboys head coach I think a guy like Mike Zimmer Minnesota Vikings head coach could potentially be a candidate you say how could that be well I I II coach there in the deepest corner along try defensive coordinator for Jerry Jones is the bill Parcells fact either stay here they know what they're getting in that particular coach but also there's a young officer coordinator in cabin step band he this sitting there in Minnesota the Minnesota Vikings don't want to part ways with him they don't want him all of a sudden start to get interviews and become a category another team so I would be surprised if somehow might dimmer wind up being the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys in the cabinet she takes over as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings so a lot of story lines this call come about here over the next with date but I think this time around you will get the head coaching job right where the coach may be season one more before we go do you think that at this point Jerry Jones is ready to surrender more control to a head coach now then he has been willing to in the past as bill Parcells left and and I want to turn this on your stamina I am right now status is not a defense Jerry Jones was some what he is and even as well as we clay as well as Jerry junior what is your you Jones gone wrong with that organization other than the head coaching hire that's a very good question that's very good everybody everybody everybody said here you're you're here the one on that team thank you for calling the latter team for the National Football League I would I would argue and say that their top five channels it is four tally dole is a National Football League the problem is that head coach because you're you're not holding the plate yeah well that gives the player is a free pass for having innate need season the talent on the field didn't win enough games he and Garrett will finish as the second longest tenured and second most winningest coach in team history Tom Landry a record of eighty five and sixty seven the wonders to playoff games unable to get past the divisional round Mike wells Myron Medcalf on Freddie Fitzsimmons the Dallas Cowboys there you know they draw attention but the the the days of being America's team and wanted to be part of what is age and it's not the same anymore it is not the same strictly because of what you have to deal with away from just coaching of football team is not simply you know put together a strong staff the coaster brakes of Amari Cooper Ezekiel Elliott and dak Prescott it's also having the answer constant questions from your boss the owner Jerry Jones deck could become a headache when you're you can't simply just focus on the task of putting your team in the proper position the try to have success there's a side show that comes with it and some people are built or not built to be able to deal with that so you got to find the right coach who is not only a great Exynos guy but somebody who's mentally strong enough to handle the constant you know looking over the shoulders and the pestering of your boss meddling in the inside of things wonder why things are not going well or to give us suggestions on what you should be doing that's not something easy that everybody can handle that type of situation well it and not everybody wants it and that's why I think a lot of these cultures your Matt rules related rallies urban Meyer's why except that to me if you're not going to modernize the structure of your organization so that your owner can do what every other owner does and take a backseat and not be this forward facing figure who's hosting its own press conferences after the game sometimes undermining the head coach then then how can you expect to attract a great candidate bomb out rule no one eight I'm leaving Baylor I got a chance to build something there if I'm leak in Raleigh I'm in Oklahoma and every year I get a chance to go to the college football playoff leave in Oklahoma where I can coach for another decade at least about continue to succeed ever murmur Meyer I'm not leaving LA or on the TV analyst making good money watching a lot of football injuries bouncing around the country see a lot of teams to go to Dallas where I've got a deal with Jerry that's why I think it's going to be difficult if Jerry Jones wants to continue to be Jerry Jones I don't think Mike he's going to end up with any of the top candidates identifying potential replacements Bobby carpenter and fox college football reporter Bruce Feldman gas on Freddie impede Simmons Stephen Jones Jerry Jones offered that coaching job urban Meyer she would say I think that's a hard job to say no urban probably wouldn't be needing to be for another year is that all you but who knows enough the big job at the glamorous job and remember the nose you know damn owns his courage and damn ongoing expound acted it all back thank god yeah I was supposed to do the oil itself journal part of mine and to buy that it was offered so you're going to want to meet your need to guide it was a proven track record we've done it before who's been in the playoffs the only guy that I look at the newest hires cycle that's really available is Mike McCarthy and it's free thank god I'm not that I'm not the biggest Mike McCarthy stand the world but he's the only guy that it holds no one Barty and that is the only thing that Jerry Jones once he is getting older is that you know you if you spend more time on this earth that he's going to spend has the last was starving if you get that oracle Marty troche with them of the order would love to put it in there Mike you've done that you chose to leave and you've been in the playoffs he's done a good job that would be my selection I don't know if they don't know what it does do checks all

4 NFL Teams Have Head Coach Openings

"For NFL teams have head coaching openings now that the cowboys are prepared to move on from Jason Garrett the others of the giants Browns and Panthers and one name to watches Baylor's not rule Baylor ended its season with a loss to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl rule followed through by going on a family vacation but when he comes back to the states CBS sports NFL insider Jason walking for a game on the bench and said we will be an enticing choice to go from Waco to Dallas when it comes to the kind of guys they're probably looking at you know Matt rules on a beach in Mexico right now I don't think Matt role was to start worrying about next year's coaching gig until sometime next week in the Dallas wants to be a part of that I can't imagine he won't listen although the giants I think are are are his first choice maybe by some degree if you can get everything he wants their giants already spoke with cowboys assisting Christopher shard they're going to meet with Mike McCarthy after we chatted with the Browns on

Why Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett might be in a 'chess match'

"First we do have to talk about skips cowboys ahead of Jason Garrett's meeting with the Jones Family Garrett admitted he didn't know what the future sure hell but said quote. We'll have a good visit and see what's next. After the meeting. There was still no news on Gertz Future. Jerry Jones was clear that he had no timetable. Timetable on a decision following the cowboys. Blowout win over Washington on Sunday. Jerry said quote. There's no door shut here tonight. Both sides rides are scheduled to meet again today. Interesting there Shannon. Please explain what is going on. Your skip is really hard cut ties with someone you care about I agree we've all been here. Skip you've been in a relationship and you've got to self talk w light you know what I'm GonNa end it. I just know it's not the right thing to do. We're going into directions. She wants different thing. He wants different things. You got this all plan that genie get home. I'm going to say you know what Babe I just think it's time for us is to go out separate ways you must have a negative. It's all bad break. Yeah you get there you like. Hey how you doing see. You had a great day at work because you care now you don't care about get out kit rocks however what if you don't call call be lose my number Yada Yada Yada. Jerry can't do this because he allowed himself to get close to this situation and remember. This is one reason why the military do not let higher ups have relationships with subordinates. Because it cloud your judgment. It makes it so hard for you to do things that you know you should do. Jerry knows what he should you do because we've gotten so close. It's hard for me to believe I believe that over the course of this nine year relationship as an owner coach. Jason has gone on vacation with Jerry. Very believe he's gone to Jerry's home and had nice meals or a celebration. I agree with Jerry is so skip it makes it so much harder because deep down. Here's what you look here. We've been together nine years. I've got four eight hundred. Five hundred seasons Made the playoffs three times. I missed the other times so I know what I should do down and I liked Jason. He's like a son term it years and you he gave Sam we have lived together and they have give because like you said he was. Troy's backup you WanNa Championship together. He was his offense as a coordinator and he promoted him to head coach. There's a lot of history there. But and plus you said Jay read would it pro football say their own looking at team they got some bad breaks here. J. Like you know what we did. Get a couple of bad breaking Jason's really not that bad 'cause you see how you look. We look to Washington skill. Look how we look. The first time around gets phillies killed so he look at what we did to. The Rams team had a winning record and we destroyed him. No He's he's looking at it but because he jerry has the range of emotions if he's ready to fire. I was surprised that Jay was allowed to get back on the plane. At the New England. Game Ain't and then he comes out and then Chicago game. They lose on a Thursday night skipping puts his arm around him a that's when he came up with we had a football life together almost seemed like I can't let this guy go skip. Look he's Jerry is looking deep down. Maybe if I just give him a two year deal say Jay somebody you to turn this thing around. I'm getting some new coaches Yada. Yada Yada and this thing will be different. He knows what he should do. But because his heart is so connected to Jason Jason it makes it almost impossible for him to do it because he also knows nine years. I've groomed Jason. He's GonNa take everything they all in the paper Apor Agua I can beat him up. beat him down and he's going to take it in stride and just go say hey we gotta keep our head that remember we keep our heads down and we keep working keep grinding and jared all know somebody that's GonNa be. They say that I don't know if they're going to be able to take it. So that's what's going on. Skip he's too close to the situation. He allowed himself to get too close to Jason Get In his tearing at his heart that he knows he needs to let Jason go but he can't right now for once. I unfortunately agreed with every word you just utter and I must say publicly. My worst football nightmare is taking place right before my very eyes and I can't do anything to stop it. In fact the more I sit over here and pound his desk Jerry wakeup jakup finally and fire this man. He's a nice guy. We all agree. He's not the right guide to coach The Dallas Cowboys going forward. You Know Jerry and I know at Gerry. Shannon Sharpe deep down. I believe he knows it though. He won't admit it out and yet the more I beat this table. Trust me on this because I know Jerry Jones. The more I found the more he's going to dig in because he he has lived his life his oil and gas life. Doing just the opposite of what everybody totally should do. Jerry you're done you're tapped out. You gotTA quit. You gotta go
