Homeland Security agencies will have to equip their law enforcement officers with body worn cameras under a new DHS policy released this week. It says body worn cameras should be used for emergency calls, pre planned arrests or during execution of a search or seizure warrant or order. The DHS policy stems from President Biden's executive order on accountable policing. Customs and border protection has already issued 7000 cameras to its workforce under a pilot project started in August 2021. We've had a potential blockage at this point at one point we thought traffic was getting by on the right shoulder. I think that is everyone that was getting past colesville road headed toward university boulevard. That was where you were getting by the activity with the crash along the far right side. Also, we'd had work on the beltway outer loop coming around from university boulevard toward Georgia avenue. There, two right lanes should be getting you by. Also with all the other flashing lights, we do have some rubber necking going on. So just expect delays, both directions between Georgia avenue and New Hampshire avenue. Well, let's talk about that with our own entertainment editor Jason Frehley, hiya Jeffrey. Hey, how's it going? Good. So you interviewed lightfoot just last summer in what was one of his final interviews. What was your impression of him? Yeah, he was coming to play Capital One hall in Tyson's corner, Virginia, and then in my neck of the Woods in the Weinberg center in Frederick Maryland. And I remembered at the end of the interview, he said, you know, he was planning to keep touring, but was actually feeling tired himself. He said that. And he said, one of these days I'll get with 21st century doesn't use Internet, no cell phone, but you know, he said he has been on emphysema, oxygen tank recently. That one kind of hit me hard and I know I'm not really in the demo of a Gordon Lightfoot. You would think, but my grandfather literally played his greatest hits every time I got in the car. So I'm probably heard the Edmond Fitzgerald probably 5000 times. You mentioned the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and we just played a little bit of a clip of it just to previously before he came on. Was that his Magnum Opus? I mean, I think so. He read about it in the newspaper the next day, he said, and he said he didn't think much of it, but then a week later he read about it again in newsweek and said, man, they're only giving this like half a column in this. I want to do these people justice, the victims that die. And there's just so many chilling turns of phrases in that, you know, like, does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours? That one always gives me. Gives me goosebumps, and I just love how the song verse after verse. Yeah, it was long. I heard you mocking it in the intro, but I love how it builds and builds. You know, it's like when supper time came the old cook came on deck saying fellows is too rough to feed you, and then it's 7 p.m. the hatchway games in and fell as it's been good to know ya. The song moves along and builds and builds. And I think he even went back and changed some lyrics in recent years to kind of make it as accurate as possible over the years. It's an epic song. "WTO P news. It's 6 52 service on part of metro's yellow line is set to resume early next month. After months of construction for safety and infrastructure upgrades. I'm so the biggest safety concern that we had in the tunnel was the deterioration of the steel liner. Tatiana cutra kova with metros as upgrades made along the yellow line bridge and tunnel were safety critical. The entire liner is brand new, so everything is new still, new coat of paint. Metro's yellow line is scheduled to reopen Sunday May 7th at 7 a.m.. That'll end months of some passengers having to take the blue line, adding up to 15 more minutes to their commute. Along the yellow line bridge, metro upgraded things like bridge bearings to enhance its infrastructure. And then everything else stays relatively untouched. But certainly in areas that are filled with a single-family houses, you might see that start to change. It is important to note, however, that there's going to be an annual cap on the number of permits that they will give out for this new so called missing middle housing. So there's not going to be more than a 58 lots that potentially have this new sort of housing or some sort of converted housing built on them every year. Now archeologists say that they've made a new discovery regarding a battle fought during the Civil War. On May 5th, 1862, union forces caught up with the retreating confederate army in a battle that was fought just outside Williamsburg, Virginia, battle killed many union and confederate soldiers, archeologist Jack Garry says a field hospital was set up in a church that was right next to the area where they were excavating the city's powder magazine. There is a description in references to mass graves being dug somewhat regularly as the soldiers died and being buried just outside of the church. They found the mass grave last year during excavations and will now work over the next several months to remove and study the remains.
