"So in the meantime does Eli. Manning have a hall of fame career. We'll get your thoughts but this is what Steven they had to say about it. What are the things that we do in our society when it comes to Sports Hall of fame is strongly and vehemently object to the the subjectivity? That comes with the hall of fame voting because they tried to tell us this is the criteria but then they don't follow it so what had to do with say. Hey I WANNA follow. It is whatever you tell me. It is as a hall of fame. Voter was a hall of fame player or as a football football. Play it at Judges Hall of fame. Talent excetera whatever you tell me it is. I wanted to capitulate to it. But at least be consistent with what you say it is and that to me is something that we should speak about because of the subjectivity. That takes place not just go along with. I agree where Stephen as coming from. But I would challenge. It's it's easier said than done Ma'am when you ask subjectively like who's a hall of Famer to be put into some context in written form I would ask. What do you think those requirements should be? Because that's easier said been done to define what greatness is to a whole group of people. Victor in Florida he Li- overrated. What do you think Ma'am absolutely not thank you? Jason Stats aside. What we are missing and the most salient point about the reason he deserves to be in the hall of fame? Is that in this day and age of a scandal. A minute Eli has exemplified I five professionalism and integrity not only as being an ambassador to the New York giants in his in his representation of the shield victor. Thanks for the call. I'M GONNA cut the off on that because it specifically says in the bylaws of the NFL Hall of fame that actions off the field should not be considered which is why people like Oj Simpson or in the hall of fame whether you like it or not. It's specifically tells them not to factor in anything that didn't happen on the field so we if we're not gonNA make it a detriment when somebody's he's not a good guy by their own bylaws. We don't get to make it a positive when somebody is a good guy the bylaws are written specifically for the NFL Hall of fame to only allow action on the field to be part of how people make that decision the NBA by the way on Espn radio tune in tomorrow night. "We'll get back to some more of your thoughts but there's more MBA drama you just heard about NFL trauma all over the place well as NBA drama as some people are saying there are reports out that certain players. The Clippers are actually getting special treatment and it's causing friction within the locker room so Andrea dollar joined Maxon Stephen and they talked about whether or not what they're buying into that friction. I'm not going to challenge the report. I'm a firm believer that you have reporters out that you get it from somewhere. I don't believe Gaza just at home right in a make stuff up. Somebody told that reported that. Okay I'M GONNA show you'll respect to my industry in that regard but does that mean. It's true probably not. I know a Lotta guys on the Los Angeles Clippers from the coaches staff with Doc rivers and Todd Lou and the crew and Sam Casella costs. You know right on down to the players. Don't know Kuwa- known Paul George for wild. No Patrick Beverley very well Lou Williams herro all of these boys. They don't have those kind of attitudes. You know that. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are the real deal you know when healthy these are elite stars in case of Bona fide superstar in the game of basketball not to mention to. It'd be a champion and a two time. NBA Finals Mvp. Who by the way is dealing with legit injuries? He ain't making it up. It's like you know what I want to rest and I don't feel like playing. We know what happened with him in San Antonio before he departed and so you take those things into consideration even when he got traded Toronto. What did he talk about them? You know what I'll be ready for the postseason but I need to miss some of these regular season games need to pace myself. That's what I'm going through. And he ended up averaging thirty nine minutes game and the postseason if flat out bald when you take all of those things into consideration just knowing the character of the people that I know of course they. They don't want you baby and pampered. Then go stomach that. Don't get me wrong. But the flip side to it understanding that Kuwa- and Paul George particularly Louis. This year is going to get treated just to touch differently than the rest of the crew I think they understand it I think they got the intestinal fortitude to deal with I. Ah there ain't no boys on clippers. They're all men and if they got a problem they're going to let you know it ain't gonNA tell the media walk right to your face and they'll tell you they have a problem with it. These brothers are made of a different ilk. I'm not going to disrespect them like that. By saying oh behind their back. Oh gotTA problem will pour Georgia Kawhi Leonard. I don't believe I believe that about these brothers. I don't believe they made up your say. Would you say no boys on the clippers. It reminds me of Phil Jackson said. NBA No boys allowed. Never played rookies and stuff right and Phil Jackson even if the modern MBA passed him by in terms of team building. I think he was the best when he took over talented teams. They won the championship kinship almost every year or got there and he talks about the five stages of team building. Let me tell you where I think. The clippers are right now. The first ages. They don't believe that they never were in that stage. They want you know forty forty plus games last year. They got to superstars. Then it's the cynical about improving like I don't really believe we can. They're not in that stage either. Then it's they believed staged his individual thinks they can achieve greatness individually. But what about helping your teammates right then stage four when you get really really good teams. They know that they pass the ball. Stuff stage five magic. He calls it. They don't even worry about their opponent. Stage Fort were better than you stage. We're not even thinking about you. We're trying to get okay. I think the clippers are transitioning from stage three to stage four. We're there may not taking personal responsibility thinking that they are victims the circumstances but the transition. Now you hear about team meetings and stuff like that bonding stuff. They're transitioning now to the point where they're going to start to understand Dan to get the best out of themselves. They need to get and so that's where they are and let me tell you something. This clippers team in stage. Four is going to win the championship. Don't let them get the stage five. They don't let this team get to stay five particularly if they get a shot blocker trade deadline. It's going to be a problem. I agree with both of you and what I we'll say is I know who was really well just from playing with them and I've just watched him throughout his career since since we since he's been moved on different teams and I saw something different in him two years when he was with the clippers. I started filling out his way he. He was communicating verbally to his teammates to a rookie. One time a mashups go play spot. Say say this is this is I. I liked this loop so I've been watching him from behind the scenes. We're brothers and I'm saying this is. This is a mature ludicrous as a grownup blue. So I don't think that whatever averages report is I think it's kind of out of proportion you know you might say one day guide in practice yesterday or man he was you know he took my massage spot and I and my goes into treatment but we understood on the warriors team is I would say it myself a Steph. Don't practice today Clayton on practice today. Take on the spot. Everyone knew it. And that's where you can stage four stage five is like everything's lining up and we all have understand Dahlie all you need an Igwe dollar or two on your team. WHO's that guy on the clippers? You're saying that's Louis is Louie Lou. Williams is there. I will give it to him. He hasn't got as far into the playoffs or to the finals. But he has the right mindset that I've seen Corrigo has a couple of things number one. Let's take the coaching MM staff seriously in terms of not just their coaching ability. One of the greatest assets are doc rivers has is that he can be a leader of men and he'll hold you accountable. Brothers respect him profoundly for that Sam Casella is a real dude. A fake phoniness about a sample sale tied blue is a championship gold. Medalist pay attention then. Then let's also look at a guy like Lou Williams dre just brought it up you know what dre didn't I didn't bring up Lou Williams perennial sixth man of the year star off the bench score machine understand that Lou Williams Williams is underpaid Bob about eighteen to twenty million a year. He's making eight million dollars a million dollars. This year Abyan Lule Williams could easily sign a contract today getting twenty four twenty five million a year and nobody will blake. Everyone knows he deserves deserves. Montross Harrell that do is in the last year of his contract making six million a year. These are not brothers. That's GONNA worry about how somebody's being treated. These brothers is going to go out there and ball and about winning and oh by the way we will reap the benefits of ever there. Were guys guys that had that mentality is to allow a patch of beverly less win and watch what we get as a benefit of it. That's their makeup man that it really is data real deal in that regard they really are. ESPN radio presented by Progressive Insurance. Making it easy to bundle your home and car insurance. Why do I feel like all of this will go away when we get to the playoffs and the level of intensity rises? That's all I'm saying I take your take on. ESPN radio does Eli. "On his his baseball. Talk about your what. What I'm saying is this though the level or the bar that is set for excellence and consistent excellence is different football baseball and let me say it but let me say yeah about Tom? Brady and you haven't brought this up. You talked about the players that he played with and championships that he's one you didn't talk about championships. Lost one number two. You also didn't talk about the players that weren't kept now understand that he's not an executive and as a result the power lies with bill. Check Robert Kraft but there is something something called influence when you are a leader and that influence never seem to be to exercise to successfully when it came to other players but it certainly thousand Kennedy. Here's the difference though you're George Steinbrenner and you're willing to dish out money and pay luxury tax due at least they're derrick jeeter Zita. Don't have to fight for nobody. No no listen people they will not point out my point was what did I say. It wasn't good enough to keep a multitude tatooed players there but it was good enough to keep him in other words. You don't you don't want you decided that you know what you will. You will willing the stay. You decided to Cirque of Bill Belichick and kraft to sit there and say y'all overruling this man right to keep you say to yourself when it comes to winning when it comes to winning. Winning store import with Tom. Brady who did you say Tom Brady was willing to let live with him Antonio because it was about the team accomplishing gold gold willing to risk it. All what about all the cheating scandals leadership.

"Years in your mind I would say Peyton manning because when he didn't play besides Andrew luck doc almost horrific teen or the first pick and he was literally the leader of that offense? I mean he called the place you call audibles and you have to kind of be NIA liter to influence all those things and get everyone to believe in you and he did that in Denver as well too. I mean I know is last season. He was nine touchdowns and seventeen picks but these leadership is or like that defense one of the link for him so I would they pay manning definitely up there. BG That's a great call one of the most difficult things anybody. That's a fan of a bad team. Knows you always hear about culture how difficult it is to create. Well that's exactly what Peyton manning did everywhere he went. He created a culture around winning so obviously Ryan Clark J will they were fired up with maximum Steven A.. But there was also name missing from that. We didn't hear the name Lebron. The debate continued on. I take check it out. I think Lebron is spectacular leader. I really do. I think he's had to learn how to lead. I think people will hold that against him that he left Cleveland and go to Miami. The fans go. Look at Miami Morrison going to college learning how to lead. I think recently the political stuff it's going to tarnish peoples. I believe about his leadership because it seemed like it was one of those scenarios China. You mean yes. Because he he tried to say the right thing but you could tell. It wasn't fully knowledgeable in the whole situation. Asian billion dollars of business in China and I think that that would take his name out of this equation for the time being. I disagree with you. I don't think that's the reason why I'm not going to hold anything about. China against system are resented the fact that he in various other dues will put in a position where they had to explain themselves. It wasn't their problem. There was an executive Darryl more you my very very fond father and he and I've spoken but he started it by saying what he said. It is a tent was now was not wrong anyway but he started it but he gets to go away and be silent but we're looking at players to answer for what was instigated by a white executive. I've got a problem with that. That's number one number two. I understand this reality. But it doesn't make it fair and I'm just saying it's something. That's so flagrantly unfair as maximum. Say We we can point that out the other part about Lebron ships this okay we all see if these things going on with Kyrie Irving and the two begin to to be to be delved into I get that but you knew what you had in your Decem. Say gotTa keep them there before that you were in Miami. I was the way. Wait Steve Team for the first couple of years. Let's be clear about that. All right then you also got Pat Riley. Da is the latest stuff like that. Dan Right overall because us out of loss to to let me be very cloud have been no different than Lebron if JR Smith.

"The city is all of it. Okay Louisiana then we have different different blabbity avenue that he said he waited to get married. Waited to have children. Doesn't Ali Molly. I know for what time now. She's supporting the re. I know she supportive of what I'm just saying I didn't give. Oh so the bottom line is he was involved. In new controversies whatsoever. He made headlines as the face raced on a franchise he was Derrick jeeter. He was El Capitan. They were perennial title contenders they got five world championships to show what he was impeccable in every leadership way imaginable. As far as I'm concerned he was the pitted. Me Of what should be. He is cheeser leader El Capitan. Who made the captain point? That significant like captainship actually matters good book called the Captain Class. That goes through this the winningest. His teams of all time have similar style leaders right. Whether it's Bill Russell Tom Brady or Derek jeter or any of these kind of guys leading your team. It'd be an extension of degree a coach or manager. You made that point already. That's great never stepped in New York City. The center of the known universe the center of Finance Finance and media for the winningest franchise in the history of American team. Sports never stepped in at one hundred sixty two games. Mike's and his face postseason creases Greece's two hundred games. A year for twenty four thousand one might tennis face all the time never stepped in it one time. All that's great check this out. JEETER would be first ballot hall of Famer. He played right field for the. Milwaukee brewers never played in a single playoff game the man had nineteen hundred run scored and thirty four hundred hundred plus hits when you had thirty five hundred and two thousand. He's in the elite elite that everyone talks about his defense. He wasn't a great defensive player of the five gold gloves. He didn't jeeter was such a great defensive player that he was able to play shortstop all the Oh this guy is a great third baseman defensively. rightfielder defensively if they were even better defensively actually. They could play shortstop but he not only played it. But for the five time world series winning New York Yankees now. Let's talk about leadership. Let's really talk about about leadership because Tom Brady's is I think is real competition here. Here's the difference basketball. A single player has the most influence on the on the fortunes of franchise. Hi's football less so but leased so baseball. It's hardest because you can't run every play by jeter. You can't have them take every at that either the balls hit the him or not. It's his turning the order or not. He won five world series at one point a play away from winning five out of six world series. Now with three tiers of playoff. Pull Coulon Joe. Torry was manager. Great manager this like a George Steinbrenner and then Steinbrenner's kids Bob Watson and then cashman there was turnover. Managers in baseball. Don't have influence like in football. For example Tom Brady had bill belichick the entire time he.

"Trusted to win a high scoring game. That's what we want from a franchise quarterback well. That was the debate that the panel had today. When we when they got to talking talking about Jimmy Garoppolo check it out? I'm not there number one number two. I would like you to personally do me a favor. Please please please stop acting like the forty nine moved heaven and earth to get Jimmy Garoppolo. Who would not have taken a guy that started out seven the no in his career Tom? A starter to no one to two zero two zero two zero. As did he went five. And they'll say Cisco but he started off to a no he had been planned for Bill Belichick L. A.. Check he was Belichick's heir-apparent. Oh by the way. Because I'm upset that Mr Robert Kraft said I can't trade. Tom Brady I'm going to sit up. The trade Jimmy Garoppolo for a second round pick wink. Cleveland was begging for him with a gave up the number twelve overall pick one. Stop acting like the forty nine rebounds Stock Stock Act to like the forty niners. Oh my God they want them so desperately. Do you know what you'd have a good point. If they're willing to give up a first round pick he wanted to thirty seven they'd have moved heaven. Heaven thicker you. Just one hundred eight need him. They not only traded a secondary matter. Max We know one hundred thousand seven and a half two million guaranteed where that but I gave him a second round. Pick and pay their own quarterback so what. Here's the deal in the end. Did you know this that. With the exception of the the three hundred and forty nine yards Jimmy G. passing and that forty eight forty six win over New Orleans. Did you only time to over three hundred yards against Arizona. The two games against Arizona and at the time. Did he do that here. Okay now this is George Kiddle as your weapon. This is what Deebo Samuel as your weapon now Mazda. We didn't no he was going to be what he is and that they didn't have Emmanuel Sanders. Tell a second half season we get that but Scott George deebo Samuel got cows Shanahan call the place got an offensive line that protects. You you gotTA defense. It gives you math opportunities to capitalize social. What I'm saying? Is it no. But he also has a great defense that gives him the ball on the floor and not under pressure to produce. Because they're doing what they're hungry on. I'm trying to say down Tom Brady they have this defense. All I'm saying to us at the end of the day Jimmy G. High scoring game perspective effective. I get the passing allergies twelfth and passing yards. But he's fifth in passing touchdowns I mean. He has three games with. I mean he has three games three plus passing touchdowns touchdowns Patrick Mahomes just as six. It's not that different. I think that I don't want to pretend like he's not a good quarterback coordinates good and I think he's capable of winning in that situation. Do I trust them. Feel confident no and part of your arguments suggesting that because ballot check believed him because Shanahan was able to pay or was willing to pay so much is money him and Lynch. We're willing to pay some money. That contract was a unique contract. It was frontloaded literally because they did not trust them and did not believe in him and the way they've treated him so far and it's playoff suggest just to me that they do not trust him. He's show them why he's thrown balls. That should have been intercepted. A couple thousand work and weren't so that's and I think part of this we're talking about we all accept it. Something different different about the playoffs. We haven't seen him do it in the playoffs. Something's different about the teams are planning to play. Offs level of game playing. It goes to play offs. The pressure playoffs all the things that we're pointing to saying saying that we know he can do it because of all of these things we have not seen him do any of that in a playoff time pressure situation. And you're saying that you trust them to do it for the very first time if the biggest post-game his career that's where I've seen him. I think he's capable but I'm not gonNA say that trump. I think he's more likely than not to succeed. You have to write. But that's what we're really asking. Yeah right yeah I think he got you have to make a bet right like that. Become more likely. The New Orleans game is a good example where I've seen him in high leverage moments. You're right here. Through a couple of passes that should have been picked and they haven't had a lot of balls since then I get that and by the way that Shanahan's kind of signature. He goes with the hot hand he rides is the moment but Jimmy G. could easily if if they need him to throw the ball he's GonNa throw on then the question is do you believe he'll he'll be successful. I will listen if I believe he's going to be successful is because because I have little faith in. Kansas City's defense that that might be and I think they've improved but I'm saying that's the question mark to me but I've said it before and I think I've been validated in these playoffs. By saying this this you think about four different layers of the San Francisco Forty niners before you even get to their quarterback you got your defensive line led by both you've got just secondary led by Sherman. You got to run a Gable Mazda Coleman you got Shanahan and it's all. I'm just saying that you look at San Dan Francisco the balanced well-balanced team that they are wrong. Explain this then. Yes how would you explain this. And this is super small sample size but Garoppolo was to overset oh percent was one in one. That's very small. Then it goes to San Francisco. They're five and then he gets hurt. What are they foreign twelve? Then he comes back there thirteen and three like like this is. It's not just that he has this incredibly excellent winning record the best ever this number of games. It's that absent him and you would think if you're not elite right if you're not then it's easier easier to find a replacement right where you they can't find a win and with him they almost can't lose. That's who different questions though. Like if a franchise quarterback or is he should he be the starter absolutely yes. That's the question for from. Do we expect him in the biggest game of his life with the pressure on the fourth quarter is he more likely than not to succeed in that moment he does. That mean. Beat mahomes Lyn. Okay when you say trust it's like I think of that. Press Cotton Aaron Rodgers. A couple years ago that was hopelessly behind but he brought them right back into the game. And it's not like you after that game saying I don't trust that he didn't get it done. It's that Rogers. Did you know that you can't account for you right. But I could see them losing and still afterwards saying no Garoppolo had a really good game after that game index rookie year. I was like Oh man you can trust that guy. Yeah we haven't had that moment for ah for you feel. Do you believe I say I feel. It's a tough thing to do. And so far what I've seen from Jimmy Garoppolo. He's slightly above average quarterback. He's not the legendary guy like we're talking about and I think that he's it's more likely that a quarterback is going to fail in that situation so I think since he has around twenty four lines you know he will fail in that. That Stephen a MAC and the NFL's Dominic Foxworth having a debate about Jimmy G.. In the meantime we're having a debate about who the biggest best leader in sports is over the last twenty five years tons of tweets. I'll get to just a minute at Jason Fitz. There's also a pull out there. You can vote on plus your calls triple eight say. ESPN eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven seven six. We'll get get some of the leadership reaction plus. What should the punishment be for the sunflower seed bowl? And that's a there's a game that's actually called sunflower between Kansas. Kansas state. They brawled old. What's in the punishment be? We'll get some thoughts.

"ESPN eight eight eight seven seven to nine three seven seven six. The debate raged on this morning. You can tweet me at Jason Fitz Hashtag. I take your thoughts on this. Is Patrick Mahomes the best ever. I know it's early. It's early to have these conversations about best ever. He's only obviously been doing at this level for two years. But I'll go back to something that Dan Orlovsky said earlier. We heard the most host unexplainable quarterback speaking of Ski. We'll get his thoughts in just a few minutes. But in the meantime if we're going to have a question in a conversation about best-ever part of that is going going to come into. What makes Patrick Mahomes CREPE? There was a debate this morning. I take about whether it's mahomes greatness or are the chiefs weapons. The reason mahomes is so great. Great I understand. The brother is great to be as young as he is that Moxie that he has flinging football the way that he he does choosing judiciously to know when the run obviously by himself Tom in the pocket all of these things are gifts from the quarterback position. He deserves credit for. But I'm going to ask you all again in all. Seriousness tyreek Hill. Sammy Watkins McCall argument. Damian us at Travis Kelsey. Excuse me if he didn't have these brothers what would they do. Let's stop. We can't have such respect and by the way I gotta take a moment to give love to the enemy. I talked about Any recall the place AIRBNB. Who should be a damn head coach in the National Football League? Get me started with that nonsense but the job that he has done as the offense coordinator for the Kansas City chiefs Ulta toodle weapons that they have at their disposal. And I guess the way I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. Dan just the answer this for me. Tell the time in the modern era where you see one team. Have these weapons on offense together. I'm talking about together the last year with the rams when they had Robert Woods.

"The Patriots make a mistake in your mind by trading Jimmy Garoppolo first and foremost congrats on the show. My brother thank you. Let's start with that Did the Patriots make a mistake. Heck no absolutely not not at all it would be idiotic bracero again rapid categorizing based on this winning the soccer ripple is the pivotal. It's the Optima with is the only thing you drive to do in the national football league and in fact of the matter is Patriot. Career Waterline Without Jimmy P. So they not only one. They went to another one in Wisconsin. Brady that all records in superbowl though one for five hours and the game and the Eagle so dip the Patriots make a mistake. Heck no yeah sure. Two years later with the Tom. Brady's forty years old. Yeah they might be the quarterback dilemma but the Patriots not only what who won the super bowl without Jimmy G. and he was going wink half the more than likely walk anyway. 'cause there's contract goes up weren't GonNa tag and pay him twenty three dollars twenty billion dollars to back up. Tom Brady don't know they. You didn't make a mistake. The problem is Houston see buyers. Everybody's Super Bowl now when it saying man if only the Patriots still had him. That's ridiculous well. I love what you just said about reasons. He by Joe because one of the things I think that factors into this conversation is that Garoppolo hasn't been huge part of their playoff success. The last game he threw the ball eight times. So so how does the play off the way the coaching staff is used him in the playoffs. How does that affect your opinion of Jimmy G.? I respect the team to find a way to win. I don't give the crap how we just win. I'm not gonNA knock me because he wasn't needed in the last game I I have nothing to do with him. And that has everything to do with the back to the packers could stop a nose bleed and the forty niners line. A game was phenomenal. So I'm not GONNA sit here. Not Jimmy D. Because he wasn't needed remember during the course of the season the ball he has twenty three and five is a starter from not mistaken for the forty niners. So Jimmy D has been the man. He's haven't really needed which only further my point and I heard earlier in the discussion is timmy. T. was on the Patriots this year. They wouldn't have made it any further so I'm not knocking for not being needed. I'm just acknowledging the fact that he wanted to be far in the playoffs we're talking to Emmanuel OSCEOLA ESPN football. I got to get your quick thoughts on one more thing that they had a heated debate. And we'll let everybody here in just a second I'll show in your mind who's under more pressure in the Super Bowl isn't mahomes or is the forty niners defense. That's sort of being heralded. After three years festival. Time to forty nine cents isn't being heralded in order to ask something we've never seen in the game of football before the forty niners defense hasn't won an MVP their credentials. The forty niners defense is in being claimed. Aimed is already hall of fame caliber if they win the Super Bowl. All those things are being credited to Padma home. So yes the forty niners defense is legit and I think they're good enough to potentially stop the Pat Behold but Capela homes is a man who has everything riding on the same coast to go wall out. We're hoping the forty niners defense falls out but it's not a given so padma whole lot more pressure to manage as always we appreciate your time. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for the insight friend. Maybe always good so you disturbed Emmanuel Acho things about pressure when we're going into this conversation well it got heated on this one. Also Marcus Spears was talking about about this with maximum molly. WHO's under more pressure? Is it mahomes or is that the forty niners Defense Patrick Mahomes. This mold does the way we've built Patrick mahomes up to be arguably one of the greatest to ever do it if if not already Max Kellerman. He's the greatest quarterback names ever sensed ast greatest and also and also there needs to be a validation of what we've seen mahomes due due to lead up to this point in Super Bowl last year. AFC Championship. What was the question after the game? Overtime rules need to change because Pat Mahomes didn't have an opportunity to get on the field going into overtime after Tom Brady went down to score. So this is. This is a pressure situation for quarterbacks legacy this will buy him time. What did the Super Bowl do for air? Raja's IT bought him time to not have these great seasons in took us a long time to get to the point where we say. Air RAJAS wasn't the same era that we built him up to be in our mind so I think Patrick Mahomes when we start talking about pressure not only the pressure on him to continue. Can you to complete this. This art that he's painting but also his head. Coach needs a super bowl as well and don't think that he doesn't understand that pressure on on Andy Reid to win a super bowl all of this. Talk about Andy. Reid possibly getting into the hall of fame. This is solidifies fame ticket punch it. It's my home with ask. If it's Mahomes with the defense the impulses of say mahomes because the defense even though you know some of the faces is largely a nameless faceless massive bodies right whereas Chris Patrick Mahomes you know the face here claiming and others are also. He's the MVP in all sports and he's the best football the best not the greatest. Not The most accomplished the best I've ever seen. It's actually niners defense. It's under more pressure in this game and I don't mean in terms of the publicity. Afterwards I mean in terms of the job Zhob hand on the field now right now. The chiefs are one point. Favorites this is close to a pick them as you and it's opened as I which is rare for Super Bowl. Really he is. I think the niners my guess is. They'll be to the favorites by the time. The game opens the smart. Money will come in late on the niners. I think they should probably a beef favored. I think one of the reasons that the chiefs are favored is they showed a great run defense. Like you know like the whole thing within their soft against the run last year although maybe a little under eight in that respect but they were stout against the best running back on on a roll. That no one's ever seen before when they needed it most the niners defense. It's no matter what you say has to contain the most unstoppable weapon ever. Ah Dude you could be all. We have to bring extra. Bring four and get the pressure on the quarterback and get to the quarterback but we see Patrick mahomes jogging out of bounds. Throwing the ball away. Please over it's dead. That's a touchdown. Pass he just threw sometimes all the way down the field across his body sometimes because tyreek hill broke a play or Kelsey made a great catch. But but he's so you can do every single single thing right. He'll make it come out wrong. He was down twenty four. Nothing to Houston okay. You can blame the coach complain the defense whatever but the titans were were stout and the titans felt like a team of destiny beating the defending champs beating the Ravens who were supposed to be the best team in the NFL this year period. Maybe we're going to be an all time great team if they won the super bowl the titans had that an even against that defense on their down seventeen seven. It just doesn't really matter men. Patrick Patrick Mahomes can do things. You can't account for that actually puts pressure on the San Francisco an animal. I totally disagree. Pat Mahomes in this game is they're going to have to validate everything everybody is saying on the field on the mets. They go about the things that you say about. Patrick Mahomes it Patrick. Mahomes goes into this game against a top Wa- to defense in the national football league and does not have a great day off like his ceiling game but he loses his ceiling has been you need to be the MVP and win the Super Bowl. That is where that's where everybody in sports right. Okay but let's let's do this now for a second. He's twenty four what he's already won a regular season. Mvp He threw his touch to hit with fifty. TD's twelve interceptions. Nobody did this year. Twenty six and six still about a about four to one a little over four to one touchdown interception if he last year comes one pre snap penalty away from getting to the Super Bowl and this year against the Super Bowl and loses. That's still progression. It's not like he's going backwards it but that is not guaranteed next year. It's it's not guaranteed to be in the same position next unlikely no matter who you are the pressure on a quarterback that we are deeming arguably the greatest we've ever seen is to win a super bowl. We comparing him to numbers. Eventually the numbers will be what they are and we'll say Dan Marino has great numbers. We never mentioned Marino numbers. We say he didn't win a super weird thing about you're right and there will be comparisons to Marino the weird thing about Marino is. He's the best anyone wanted ever seen me gets the super bowl so early in his career never gets back. Patrick Mahomes is on a team with weapons with a great coach is better than even then Marino. We know who's amazing and in consecutive years makes playoff runs if anything like if they lose the game home has a good enough game but not good enough to win. You'RE GONNA GONNA come out here the next day and be like look he went to the AFC championship game. He went to the Super Bowl. He'll be twenty five next year. tyree killed Travis Kelsey and going anywhere. Everything's things okay. y'All got to be like that because I haven't seen Pat Mahomes the greatest thing I've ever seen football who's mark. I'm not saying I don't know if it's about his. He's two years into his career ready. You can't name anyone better. Air RAJAS had that we had the same conversation about Iran. No doubt and you're saying here's how give me a name of a quarterback you've seen better than asked. Even Avis the other day he couldn't get any of that he said was better. Rogers was rolling. He was better better than this. No but we had..

"Meantime Jimmy Garoppolo in the Super Bowl right now. What I am? Claiming is that the Patriots suffered zero letdown when Brady was hurt and Garoppolo in the game. Howdy I'm saying that because Garoppolo got her doing Jimmy Dean would set? AETNA has play this Patriots team to the Super Bowl this patriots. You know. So what's take what's the point. Is the Patriots right now. We'll have no quarterback. Nuclear Genie graduate was injured. You could have had you who knows how that all the circumstance would be different. Maybe never gets injury. That's not the point he's point. Is this when you have dynasties and you have a chance to continue the dynasty like into the distant future. You take that chance this what I mean by branch Rickey trademark year too early instead of a year too late so that Joe Montana Joe Montana. Who is the Tom Brady of his era? I don't know I'm going to call Brady the goat because of the lawn jet McDonnell. They'd be better. Maybe it's like Bridgier Monte. Montana was let go a year too early he took a chiefs chiefs team to the AFC championship game. WHO's to say we don't want to super bowl with the niners right? So of course this conjecture on my part. That's the question. The debate continues day raging. You guys are raging on right now on twitter. Also you've got the bad guy reborn comes in and says how could it be a mistake when they wanted to super bowls even an no backup every every unknown back of goods traded for that. But then you've got somebody else coming in right behind him. Seeing Zach says absolutely. The Patriots made a mistake. Jimmy G. was the next guy. Upland Brady retires..

"Upstream down and they obviously Correo to there as well we saw him real quick Cana- hill was not just lucky this year he was excellent consistently excellent. That's a significant Michigan downgrade over Tannehill. Actually at this point just be clear wherever Tom Brady goes. That team is not getting Tom Brady. That team is getting the remains of Tom. Brady that's who they're going to get and he's selling. TB Twelve at this point. I don't want to say anything about his competitiveness. He wants to win. The Super Bowl proved things. I'm she's one of those competitive people who ever lived. There wouldn't be the greatest of all time. I get that at this point. There's clearly also business interests. He said Oh played a forty five. He's telling telling the TB twelve with a snake oil salesman WHO's already been in trouble for selling snake oil and now in the best advertisement he can have for TB. Twelve as I said I was GONNA play till forty five. Look at me. I'm playing until I'm forty five questions. The weapons he has and that's been a big conversation about Brady end about Mahomes William Missouri. Real quick what are your thoughts on. Patrick Mahomes the greatest of all time in his weapons. I'm not gonNA say the greatest of all time. But if he continues on its current shirt to inject or you could very well be talking about him in that. Why would I want to say about? His weapons is one of the previous segments. Molly made a really good point. When Stephen was going trying to kind of marginalize what Mahomes has done she to some of these other quarterbacks you're talking about may have better weapons in my home but mahomes but couldn't get it done? I mean no one takes anything away from uh-huh Joe Montana throwing the junior. Look at all the weapons Peyton. Manning had in Indianapolis William Bear. That is a great point. Man William that is a great great point and it's a reason why context matters. I mean we're so busy trying to figure out the greatest of all time. Here's what we can say. I'll go back to Dan. Orlovsky might be the best quote of the day the most unexplainable Lina quarterback in the NFL. Right now is Patrick Mahomes. And that's why it's fun to watch but let's also admit that there's a body of evidence in that body of evidence takes time context takes. It's time to understand that as much as we've seen too alarmingly great years. Let's admit that there's more time before we have any real answers coming up next on E._S._p._N.. "POWER NITRO plus premium gasoline engineered before levels of defense against gunk where corrosion and friction. We'll get a couple of your calls in before we go on Patrick Mahomes but before we do that. There was another quarterback conversation today about one revenue greatest of all time conversation. Well too many. Tom Brady is the greatest of all time so the question is. Where's your Tom? Brady play next season. This is what Steven had to say about it with the surprising answer on what team he should play for. I'm here to tastes up the right. Now it's Tennessee. The Tennessee Titans team that lost in the AFC championship game. Last year is where Tom Brady should go better. Well I do well. Let's be clear. Ten hills restricted free agent. We don't know what they're GONNA do. They gotTA resigned Derrick Henry in about a year so they got a plethora of other players. They gotTA resigned According to some article I think I read on. NFL DOT COM. They've got about sixty point. One million project CAP space But they've got a slew of people that they need to spend that money on with some longer term commitments and Tom Brady is not somebody that you're gonNA commit to long term at the age of forty two. But here's the other big reason first of all. Aj Brown is a stud. He's just a rookie. We know what Tom it is with him. We know what a stud lead. NFL's leading rusher in Derrick. Henry is and how that takes some of the pressure off of Tom Brady had no running game like that. We also gotta take into account what Tom Brady has endured in terms of working for Bella check in no matter what. He's accomplished no matter what he has done. Bella check is notorious for being incredibly pragmatic pragmatic in his approach towards things. He never really took care of Tom. Brady wasn't trying to etc.. A guy like Mike. vrabel is a former teammate of Tom. Brady's you know somebody who dare I say would have more of an appreciation for the greatness that Tom Brady has paid years. Putting on display. If you're talking about a swan song if you're talking about the twilight of your career ending in an ideal circumstance what better way can it be staying in the same conference playing foy. Oy Guy who is a friend. Who's incredibly familiar with what you do? What you bring to the table especially when you have weapons and then you have to take into account the fact that excuse me again? Let's looking at analyzed. If Tom Brady was code was quarterbacking yesterday what did they do okay. They're going to stack the box. They're going to the beat him. If you've got receivers that can get open. Tom Brady could do some things for you. If you got a running game. That can distract you. Tom Brady can do so. This is the big Tom Brady would be himself. It's not the he'll be the one to yovany logger.

"ESPN eight seven to nine. Three seven seven six is is Patrick. The the greatest quarterback of all time. That's what we're asking you and that's what I take chiming in on. But in the meantime that's not the only conversation they had about. Patrick Mahomes Matt. Marcus spears. Join the panel to have an even bigger discussion not just about the NFL. But about all of Sports Patrick Mahomes the MVP in all sports right now. Check out what the Guy said you talk about half in the P.. In all of sports how about Lebron James. Yes yes excuse me let me stop you right there laser gentlemen. It's really really nice to see what Patrick mahomes doing. Here's a superstar. It's also nice to see him do it in a number one sports league in America. Because guess what even if Alex Smith or or Matt Castle or somebody was quarterback in the Kansas City chiefs. Those those stand still going to be filled at Arrowhead St Louis for the AFC championship game. Last yesterday there would have been an empty seat in the house. Regardless it's it's not Patrick mahomes that has you walk through the turnstiles it's the NF l.. That has you walk through the turnstiles. Okay and what does he twenty four twenty all right okay. So we appreciate greatness as you. We got a lot to look forward to which gives us plenty of time to talk about him in Lebron James would you have a man that has thirty five years old in his seventeenth season in the National Basketball Association. The Lakers thirty four eight second seeded team in the entire NBA. At Age. Thirty five live in the seventeenth season. Lebron James is averaging twenty five ten and seven and no matter what city he goes to no matter the Laker brand being what it is the one thing that Lebron has proven because it existed in Cleveland it existed in Miami and exists in. La You going to the game to see him at age thirty five life it is seventeen NBA season. I am sorry Max. With all due respect to specifically address this question the MVP in all of sports it. Ain't you close. It is Lebron James by a mile. I said this earlier today. We were talking about this and I've one hundred percent. I agree with you Stephen They I just simple for me. I don't know how Prostate Matthew Della Vedova got fifty million dollars Tristan Thompson at eighty million dollars. We looked at the the big center that they had left. And got a fifty thirty or fifty million dollar contract as well. Lebron has automatically made guys career. There wouldn't would have just been journeymen in the NFL I mean NBA. When you like asking asking this question? There's more there's a seriousness about this question. I get it what Pat Mahomes doing and I agree with you is some of the best of that I've ever ever see in this generation of football but but the overall arching guy in sports is liberal except the question was the MVP. Yeah though if you're talking about economic engine and Lebron I'm talking about the game if you're talking about lifetime achievement award it's clearly. I'm talking talking about the game. The game is what I'm talking about when you look at. Lebron is doing for the Lakers. This year when you look at what Lebron was doing before he was injured last year. Twenty seven seven and seven in the NBA at that age and how he was carrying a team obviously we know unique pieces in the NBA to have success excess because everybody else is doing the same thing. There is no player in sports. That lives guys better than Lebron James and when you say most valuable to me what most valuable means is how valuable not only or you and your family and what you do but how valuable do you make the guys. The case since the Lakers also have an excellent roster especially the Second Bananas Anthony Davis. That's an embarrassment of riches in the last few games okay. But he's on the team and he's having the great season is he the Lebron James the reigning. Mvp No is he the reigning finals. Mvp No will he win. MVP this year debatable. I would guess no. Will he win and finals. MVP this year. I don't think he's getting to the finals. Wise going to knock him out again if you're not the MVP of your own sport. Basketball player like Lebron or Jordan or Kobe or Shaq or someone like that in their prime. Tim Duncan they're going to have more influence even than a quarterback like it's just the nature of the game. There are fewer pieces on the on the floor at any one time I get in your right the brand. NFL even scabs played only goes down fifteen percent twenty percent thirty percent. Even Lebron is a big economic force. But if we're talking about the MVP of sports in a sport where it's harder to distance yourself from the pack. Then it is in basketball. We've seen players rain over the rest of the League. We're in a sport where it's harder to distance yourself from the pack. Mahomes really has no competition. Mahomes at quarterback right now is towering over the lead. We've seen for two years in a row and it's not a question who's the best player in football mahomes it. That's not even a question but liberals not the best player in the NBA a lifetime. It's time chief mental war with well first of all in your eyes. He's not that's debatable. I will definitely concede that the one the two things that I've held against Lebron..

"But in Patrick Mahomes case we'll I'll give it to him even though he's not going to answer that now no in the NBA One player has such an influence over the fortunes of a team and especially in the playoffs. Because you can run every playful. No the quarterback touches the ball every time but the player can go. Costa goes do whatever he wants. And we've seen this with Jordan and magic magic and bird and others. Kevin Durant joined the team that set the all time record for wins. Of course I note. Kevin Durant is great but in terms of what he was trying to prove that he could win a championship. It didn't prove anything to me. Because if you add lesser players and durant seventy three win team that comes up possession away from winning. They can't hip not win a championship in its first take your take on. ESPN radio the ESPN APP. siriusxm channel eighty also on. ESPN news you guys can get in on this conversation triple eight say ESPN eight seven nine. Three seven six is mahomes. The Best of all time. Is that the weapon they've been having the debate Many of you tweeting me at Jason Fitz. Also Hashtag. I Take Robert. J says mahomes is a product of Andy Reid. He's not a godsend he gets. It gets bailed out by refs CON constantly. Love that argument and again look at Andy Andy Reid teams before Mahomes just as explosive. It's Andy Y'all should be talking about now. I'M NOT GONNA disagree by the way Andy. Reid deserves a ton of credit. Just as he would get a ton of the blame. If it didn't go ahead John No h also says over twenty seven hundred of his five thousand yards in two thousand eighteen were Yak. He averaged six point four yards per completion. Not Saying he's not a great quarterback but the idea he's throwing twenty twenty plus yards downfield thirty to forty times game completely. False everybody's coming in hot with the argument of where he belongs now earlier. In this from I take your take. We saw Dan Orlovsky. And we're going to get his thoughts just a second. I take your take Jason Fitz brought to you by McDonalds McDonalds two for five dollars. Mix and match deal is back choosing to phase for just five bucks bucks. Dinner Lobski was on this morning. He's had a little bit of time to think about this argument. So I'm GonNa ask you Dan now that we have you here with us on the Shell Pennzoil performance line. ESPN football analyst is. Is it Andy Reid or is it. Patch homes that is making this offense crate. Well it's for sure Patrick Mahomes. I mean it's like any quarterback and in coach relationship it is both of them in both of them are paramount. But Andy. Reid had a lot of quarterback before and yes. They've played well but we haven't seen any of them do what the homes is doing like we touch him home. Starting they averaged thirty three points a game that's the most in the history of the NFL. He'll you'll be the first guy if they win the super bowl he will be the first player ever to win the Super Bowl NBA MVP before the age of twenty five. He's he's got three a game already in the playoffs. Where he's going through into three touchdown passes Russell? Wilson has never done that. Troy Aikman never did that. Those guys are great. Steve Young never did that. And so oh Andy. Reid is a really good coach. And he has had really good quarterbacks but what we're seeing with touch mahomes under his offense we have not seen before we have empirical data and numbers show us. We haven't seen that before he's already in an AFC championship game and now a super bowl in his I. Years is starting and It's got the third or fourth biggest playoff comeback in the history of the League. Like why are people running from the reality of his performances. Okay so let me ask you the quote of the morning. We're talking to. Dan Roloff Ski. Who this morning when asked if Patrick Mahomes was the is the greatest quarterback of all time your your comment and was he's the most unexplainable quarterback and that is a great way to say how how who he is on the field so the question is now with forty niners two weeks to prepare on defense? How do you prepare for quarterback that's unexplainable? They're incredibly difficult to plan. I mean everyone was killing Tennessee. I had a steve for the three-man rush I actually thought it was smart. The only rea the only thing is if you're gonNA rush three men you have to force bugles and they didn't and that's where they got burned. How do you stop touching everyone? Not everyone starting to think about this game. My brain immediately goes to okay. New England's offense pence burst the giants defense and the giants had the dominant defensive line. That can get after the quarterback and it absolutely slowed down this just speed speed based offense that the Patriots had that was so dynamic and so fast forward to today I go I wonder if the forty niners you have the dominant defensive line can do the same thing to mahomes. That did with Frady a couple of things one. The giants were much more willing to play. Hands on. At the line of scrimmage pressman. That's not what the forty niners honors like to do to Brady was not a mover. He didn't move. Mahomes is if you look at. What San Francisco has struggled with this year? It's been some mobile quarterbacks Colin Murray got him twice played really well they play so much own homes gut. Don't so you know. I think that they've got to certainly plan on bringing more more than four guys. At some point they're going to have to trust coverage and forced the ball. Autumn mahomes his hands. Because we've seen if you're just GONNA try and play coverage against mahomes his awareness of that and then his movement to help Kinda create time for his guys to get open so good so you gotta play physical with his his receivers. You have to be willing. I said this before the Green Game Green Bay Game San Francisco is GonNa have to be willing to go with the bill belichick Pete Carroll method and go all right if we get five five flags this game for legal contact and they quit to fifty yards. Does that help when the football game are we willing to accept five flags to make sure that we just play hands on these receivers all the time and make the ball get on the homes his hands click with them pressure. I think that's your only hope dinner. laskey thanks so much for the time next so much for the analysis we appreciate it my friend next join US right about. I mean it's a it's a great conversation about you. Stop them because whether he's the best of all time or the most unexplainable quarterback of all all time either way. They've got to get it figured out. If they're the forty niners now you can keep tweeting us. Your thoughts at Jason Fitz Hashtag. I take also you can come in triple eight say. ESPN eight seven nine. Three seven seven six and a few minutes. We'll get some of your thoughts as we've heard I will get your take. It's just a few minutes. In the meantime there was another piece of news that came out of championship being shipped weekend. And it has to do with Richard Sherman Richard Sherman. Obviously he's had some incredible performances of late and obviously in the NFC championship game was spectacular. And he hasn't hidden the fact that through all of this. He has continued to play spectacular football but there was a bit of a battle yesterday. Between Terrell Davis and Richard Sherman Rivas Winter to twitter criticizing Sherman zone coverage leading to a back and forth between the two as they went through riva quote fear of getting beaten man to man coverage every. Snap every play the fact that he doesn't travel as a quarterback quarterback is lame except the challenges. The best shot atoms down the entire game. Do It for the game of football. Stop hiding cover three zone Richard Sherman urban respondents said. I would go in on this but had been but I'm going to a super bowl. I've got a super bowl to prepare for. Enjoy the view from the couch. You're ninth year looked a lot different than and this started a back and forth between the two the got heated so the question is does rivas calling out Sherman at pressure tours performance Bart Scott. ESPN NFL football analysts and host Barton. Hana Ninety eight seven in New York joined the guys to have that debate. I don't like like it one bit I don't like the fact that the royal readers were picked this time to do that. Richard Sherman said what he said weeks ago he never brought up the rail. Davis's name the man Just WanNa NFC championship game. Why are you going to say something? I don't like that that's number one number two and I love the real reebus but I don't like him doing this at this particular particular moment of time. I respect what you're saying about how you know guys you know compete against one another you mentioned et Cetera. I get all of that. But here's my thing. Dion was not the same as Rod Woodson Robertson played safety the last five years of his career prior to that he was a corner. But Dion then travel rod did so when you look at it from that perspective. Excuse me there are different ways to skin a cat that you told me. The job of a corner was dish. Yes I got you understand. That's not how the game is played. Won't quarterback is Stefan Gilmore typical cornerback. He's a covered. Listen you put him his own coverage on the industry they'll let him man up. Why because that's where his streak laws you sit? And we don't talk about him negatively we recognize him as being the league. He is a shutdown down corner. You have other dudes that that spine Bene- play zone defense better doing things like that. So all I'm saying is if you read this you are brilliant at ask football a you know that there are a multitude of ways to skin. That ACTA cornerback. We'll do that that's my for us. Because I agree with Steven once you once you start laying it all out. Our opinions are feelings but coming at it with experience. It comes off as envious. It's like if Brett farve start tweeting at Tom Brady. Oh but you're a system quarterback you couldn't just when the play breaks down do it. I could do go. Sling it like me like like. He wouldn't do that on the other. Hand what this does from Rivas if you feel like maybe other than Dion Sanders bad as anyone who lived and this do Richard Sherman Urban. WHO's great is getting credit? But he's doing something a little different than what I did by doing this. You are raising awareness because Bart Scott comes on TV and that starts breaking down on the difference and.

"Said they didn't match up to DS. Nine was absolutely the unit they did. Yeah as a unit so early early things one. I understand what you mean. And this y thought when they lost Kareem Hunt something. Offense had a chance to take a hit because as as a quartet when you include the quarterback running back and tight at. There's never been like the best tight ended the game with a totally elite receiver and an elite running back with an elite quarterback. They didn't have Kareem Hunt. This Damien Williams is a nice player. You know there are lots of Nice players at that position and every receiver you name after Tyreek Hill. They're fine fine like they could fit in and a lot of squads and some of them are fast and some of them but none of them like Sammy Watkins. I like Sammy Watkins. Can you call him a bust considered he was taking it for overall. Aw He hasn't been able to stay healthier consistent but that's a nice guy to have with Sammy as he was he was okay. He's okay but this is what I'll say Peyton Manning Stephen let's stay with the weapons and how they make better Peyton. Manning had james running the ball and he was throwing the ball to Marvin Harris. And who else was that receiving core ratio. Reggie with Blake Reggie Clark but and so did that help. eight-man unquestionably how ever you could also clearly see with your eyeballs on Peyton manning that dude's different peyton manning to this day I think is the greatest regular season player of all time and yes he had the weapons isn't of course. It's going to help them. Joe Montana in San Francisco. Did the weapons help them. Of course the did when he went to Kansas City at the end of his career took him to the AFC championship game. You you a Kurt Warner talk about data. Show on weapons everywhere you look. But then he wound up in Arizona and he took them to a super like these there are there are players you know the weapons helped them but your eyes. Don't lie when you look at them. It is obvious from the eyeball test from every metric from his ability to run throw leap etcetera etcetera etcetera. Patrick Mahomes is the engine on that team would make any team an excellent team just with this the president. I think I think it's important to point out. Like none of those guys are really good. Players like Kelsey Hardman tyree. They're really good players. None of them were first round. Picks that were like that's a star like second third fourth round pick so they've become one of or if not the best players their their positions right Kelsey is conversation to be the best. Football Taibbi kills the conversation of the Best Wide Receiver Moco Hartman's in the conversation and be one of the better twos or threes in football special. None of them were drafted because they were stars into college level and they get attached to Patrick Mahomes and all of a sudden. We're talking about them like there's some of the best players at their positions in the NFL. So yes they matter but I'm willing to if you're arguing at the steelers the rams it's one of those guys were paid and thought to be better weapons in his name is Steven when you look at Matthew Stafford. There's there's a guy who you go talent. He's a top five guy like every year it hasn't panned out. And maybe if he had the weapons mahomes had in the coach Mahomes add. We would really see how radius but even a guy like Stafford who's extremely talented teams. Homes is a different kind of cat. This is you you of all people that bad man. This is Aaron Rodgers two point. Oh football argument I get it from a sports perspective. Let me lock getting on this project for one second year Max Kellerman and don't interrupt me when I make this point because it's very very important. I make this to you. So what you're saying is is that regardless of the greatness surrounding him. Patrick Mahomes is just that do because what we see from him as an individual will his talent is undeniable and based on that right. He deserves all the credit in the world. Is that what you're saying. Yes yes yes but in sports basketball even though the team he joined with seventy three and nine. It didn't take away from the fact that Kevin Durant was all world. Kevin Durant is surreal. Oh Kevin Durant is debt. Do and Max Kellerman does not hesitate to say because you joy the Juggernaut or not now understand that because Patrick mahomes drafted Patrick on the team didn't understand the difference. I'm only speaking from in terms of talent. You look locate a guy like a Kevin Durant you look at superstars and because of who they play with it takes something away from them in your eyes.

"Coming into the game. He ain't got no chance they know everything about you. You got the secondary coach. You got the defensive coordinator you got. You got the head coach. GOTCHA everybody's boy. But it's like you got three young side. And his three on this top five coaches on San Francisco and you only do ingredients just all you. So I'm looking Amerada in Green Bay San Francisco going nowhere. How complete of a squad? They look okay. They go anywhere. I think the rams will be back. I think the cowboys might have something to say. The Philadelphia Eagles GonNa be there. I think Chicago's go be that I think thinking figure out to get rid of trubisky. I'm just looking at the window. A yesterday was the first time Max Marcus that I looked at Aaron Rodgers and and I said despite his greatness even great in the first half I said despite his greatness this is the SOFA I know why you would feel that way but I disagree. I respect what you're saying. I think look Aaron Rodgers. Your Fight Fan Roy Jones junior in his prime. He wasn't the greatest ever because of the accomplishments. But with your naked is the best I've ever seen right. That's Allen Rogers but when you are that gift did you don't need technique to the extent that mere mortals do so when Roy Jones and Bernard Art Hopkins fought when they were young Jones. Beat them easy when they fought when they were old hopkins one correct because Hopkins had to rely on technique. Because it wasn't gifted like Roy aged better Tom. Tom Brady and drew brees. Relying on technique have aged better than Aaron Rodgers who relied on athletic ability that they could never even dream of having to do things honestly if they could never dream of doing on a football field and then when that starts to go. He doesn't have the same technique to fall back on so the clock is ticking differently. I agree free windows not closed because still how many interceptions did he have. Zere in a badger was at four interceptions. And right that's true so in the regular season really one last one. But I'm talking regular season. Two Thousand Six hundred twenty six four ratio with a brand new head coach so I see reason to believe that some some more like dissipation of his talent can be offset by now in the second year playing with the guy. You're more comfortable with. That's one to Kansas City. Know why they're in the super bowl this year will number one because a pre snap penalty didn't give the other team the ball back like it did last. It should have been in the super bowl last year probably would have won but number for two. They were not satisfied with where they were last year. And they revamped the defense and they were and they were much better against the run they were a team. You could run over last year this year. It's different. So what does this tell you about. Green Bay what was Green Bay's weakness and I said it since the Philadelphia Game especially especially on the road. Like where's your run defense and they got ran on now. Kansas City just showed you. You can fix that in the season. That is a fixable problem then. The question is still believe. Aaron Rodgers has enough left to win a super bowl even as his kind of dive off the clippers is more precipitous than Tom. Tom Brady drew brees. The answer is yes he still has a ways to go before you look at. This guy can't even win a good team so the the window is closing. It is not closed. Its first I take your take on. ESPN radio the ESPN APP. SIRIUSXM channel eighty. And that's straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless everything for less only Walmart's funny. One quarterback has a bunch of weapons and Patrick Asia homes. The other in Aaron Rodgers doesn't seem to have nearly as many but it doesn't change the way we're having the conversation. I'm not sure about that now. You've heard the first take and again we want your take triple eight say. ESPN eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven seven six one of the questions. We're asking you throughout the course of the day. The hottest debate from I take today. Is Patrick Mahomes. The best we've ever seen. They've got a lot of tweets coming in on that at Jason Fitz. Hashtag I take. We'll get some more of those in a second but first Albert and Florida wants to call in on Air Rogers Albert. Thanks for the call. Man What are your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers. The first of all congratulations on the show. Jason next time I'll answer the first question. Patrick Mahomes is soon to be the best quarterback ever and yes though Window has closed on Rogers. I think it closed honestly about like three years ago. He just I I feel like at the end of his career. He's GonNa come out more of a compiler compiler than anything else. Well I call. That's what would some would argue. He did this year. I'm still going to go back to a lightly. Touched upon point from from the first take debate though. Let's look at mettler success because remember the titans offense this year took a big step forward. What was the difference in the toughen chest part of it Marcus? Mariota was no longer the quarterback doc Ryan Tannehill was but the other part was different offensive. Coordinator I'm just saying I've we've seen explosive results from Matt Leflore the offensive coordinator. I questioned the higher to begin with. I still wonder at the end. How well it's going to play out for all of it for Green Bay now again triple eight say? ESPN eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven. Six is Patrick. Mahomes the best ever some of you guys is your tweeting and a really. I'm surprised I haven't seen this moment. More from posting in toasting great twitter name who tweets. Don't you have to win something to be labeled the goat I mean. I am surprised that we're seeing somebody in his first super bowl being labeled to go and also though I'm torn on that because Dan Marino didn't win the Super Bowl and he's obviously one of the goats Ed in Wisconsin. Patrick Mahomes the greatest of all time next calling the show which thought it was going on and I you know maybe a cat that she's bad you call yourself just because of the respect of your show I I know you're right or fan basketball. Say and I've been a Kansas City chiefs fan bill Kenny. He's working towards greatness. I think he's a very good quarterback package deal. Had We throw great out there so often now he keeps going directly it. I would think it would be in the conversation. You know what I'm saying but right now I think he's a very very good quarterback learning and he's in a perfect system would've perfect cokes. Imperfect weapons around him. I think that is a great call. Thanks for Colin. Yes I mean I think at some point we gotta start giving a little love to Andy Reid to because it's simple. It's not as simple as just get a bunch of guys open and let them catch the football andy. Reid is doing a great job of scheming. Guys Open this. Offense is great from homes and frankly as he alluded to and everybody knows. I'm a lifelong raiders fan. I want him to be the best of all time because then I feel better about losing to him all the time. Speaking speaking of my beloved raiders. Tom Brady made headlines. This weekend for one picture of the question is where should brady play next season. You'll hear the guy's thoughts on it next. It's first year take on ESPN radio. I'm Jason Fitz I think your take on. ESPN radio the ESPN APP. siriusxm channel eighty also on. ESPN news presented by Progressive Insurance. I'm Jason Jason Fitz. That's one of the ways you can get in on the conversation right now. Tweet me chasing fit. You can also use the Hashtag. "Now we'll go to the shell pennzoil performance line what we're joined by one of our best and one of my favorites. ESPN football analyst. Marcus Spears joins US mark. Thanks for the time. How many how much crops should we be giving Jimmy d right now? Oh we should give him props. I mean obviously this situation man you heard about eight times. Nobody knows We WanNA see quarterbacks impact games like like. That's the story then carries today. Obviously well mahomes did Everybody's talking about it hot tremendous. He was the place that he made But to that point I think engy turned the corner from me this personally my mind when they played the same and I saw him go blow for blow a drew brees and they ended up winning that game. He may plays down straights Using his arm. So I don't think we're having a conversation about capable I think it really revolves around the fact that we know Kansas City. He's GonNa put pressure on you offensively because of how tremendous thing are And and Kenji may go below when Patrick Mahomes and obviously obviously San Francisco's defense has a lot to say about that but at the end of the day man we we like to have these illustrious conversations about the match of their quarterback quarterback. That's just what we have to do in football now. So you got Jimmy G.. Whose volunteers and purposes right now? His Labor was game manager because because they aren't so successful running football and then times we've seen him make some place but that consistency of going down the field leading drives passing the ball It's still sort of a question that we have but it's also tale. It's also paired with the fact that we know actually mahomes is playing out of his mind. That can't see his average and thirty three points a game and they hit We've seen them erase leads and not flinch As if they knew what the situation will be going into the fourth quarter. So is all of those things that they have of having this conversation about Jimi Jimi is capable. The bull are not in comparison to what Patrick mahomes those so it'd be interesting to see man we know they're gonna out score points. Defense is hard to play in the NFL. Especially when you talk about the talent that Kansas City has around him let alone he has the homes. Being one of the best we've ever overseen in a young career So far so is this a great narrative to talk about Jimmy G. Mash them production. Marcus magic anybody. He built plays to at least keep them there. So I've been saying all your markets and we're joined by Marcus Spears. ESPN football analysts on the Shell Pennzoil performance. I take your take Jason Fitz. I've been saying all year that there's A. Yeah but we've been waiting for some reason why we can't believe in Garoppolo because we haven't necessarily seen it and to your point we did see against New Orleans and it was so dynamic in electric to watch. So what are we supposed to make of a game. Plan devised by coaches. That essentially took the ball out of his hands. Because we're not used to that with a franchise quarterback absolutely but but I just wouldn't that be the same. I mean we were sent and said we're going to continue running. Obviously you don't have that much success running the ball. You don't think it's GonNa be that easy. Yeah I mean Green Bay them paperweight out. There the way they was trying to defend rush so You stay with it. If you turn out ten yards a carry more. There was doing then. You continue to run the football. So it's not an indictment on Jimmy that he can't do it. There was not that need to do it. What everybody is Kinda subscribing to is? Oh you open. She's going to have to do it in the Super Bowl. You'll have to answer the bail in the Super Bowl. Based on everything we've been watching from impact homes and you're not GONNA be able to run the ball that amount of times and get the money orders and things that you'll be home by running and he it's like it's like the NBA right if you shouldn't twos and you making them at a high rate and I'm shooting threes and I'm only two or three percentage points behind you I'm GonNa win the Damn Game. So that's what everybody is talking about. When you get to the point with that mahomes? Is that look. Yeah Jimmy may be great issue until you may be great. Neil Range Player but now you gotta hit threes now Steph. Curry is showing up. We Clayton Johnson. And they're gonNA force you to make three points and we we just WanNa to find out if you could make those shots as this game goes on you guys can follow him on twitter at 'em spears ninety six markets. You're the best. My thanks for joining us. Argonne man congratulations to on the show. Man Well thanks you know better. I guess than than Marcus Spears. They have on it. That's all I'm saying. Now you've heard Marcus take a little of my. You've heard I take but the part of this is your take again. You can tweet me at Jason Fitz. You're doing that. We'll read some of those also but you can get in triple eight say. ESPN eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven seven six by got crazy dave in Ohio crazy dave real quick. What do you got man? "It starts with the NFC championship game. The forty nine Ers beat the packers thirty-seven twenty the story in this game where he mastered the running back to the forty forty niners. Twenty nine carries two hundred twenty yards or touchdowns they will head to the Super Bowl that is your NFC side from the AFC side the other headline you need to know the AFC AFC championship. The chiefs beat the titans. Thirty Five Twenty Four Patrick Poems Twenty three thirty five two hundred ninety four yards three touchdowns they're able to hold Derrick Henry the superstar running back act in nineteen sixty nine yards in a game. Cowboys' Allen Hurns sustains severe lower leg injury

"To look at all of his mistakes, he's going to play better. I mean, there's a benefit of the doubt that I can give Philip rivers not the brand of the chargers because we're used to them choking. But a veteran quarterback Philip rivers has played. I think he's gonna come in and have sort of an electrifying second opportunity. Plus, this is a chargers team that found a way to win in Pittsburgh win in Kansas City. I don't see any reason why they should be intimidated about it at the concept of winning in Baltimore that is Jason Fitz host to Spain and fits, and I agree. One hundred percent. My my feeling is the chargers are going to be the first team to see Lamar Jackson twice. I think that's really significant. I think the way that they were able to box him in. Now, he had one great throw. And then he ran for a first down in the soccer stadium in San Diego. So I'm not saying at all Nick cattles that they contained Lamar Jackson, but they did not allow him to run all over. For them. I will extend the point of Jason Fitz and rivers and and how he's expecting him to play. Well, and especially he thinks he can get by on the road. And he brought up the Kansas City game in Pittsburgh game. Let's all realize this that when LA gets off a plane there eight zero this year when they board a plane to play a football game. They're eight and zero in Philip rivers. His QBR is actually better on the road than it is in L A. And I think that is absolutely. Because of that crowd in L A, if you've seen the pictures on Twitter and everything they have about half the crowd full of chargers fans that place has overtaken by visiting teams. It's so bad that the Oakland Raiders when they played the Oakland Raiders that weekend in LA at home. They actually had a pipe in fake sound during practice to get their players ready for a home game for the noise that the raiders fans would make. So I think the chargers on the road that's not going to bother them. And I think Baltimore's issue. I. I agree with your Jackson point. And I'll also say this. They are awful in the red zone. Twentieth. On offense twenty-fourth on defense if they're not better in the red zone. Tomorrow. Chargers went all right came night, ESPN radio and the ESPN app. I I don't mean to belabor this point in Dallas Cowboys are up three nothing. Seven twenty eight to go in the first Allen Hearns broke his leg on a reception. And this has been going on what what boys for probably at least five minutes. Now, the Dallas Cowboys are standing around the field watching all of this unfold. And you can see Dak Prescott Colby's Lee. The defense. All of these guys are standing there staring at this. Jason Garrett is kneeling down holding his hand while they administer care to him. I'm not trying to be heartless. But that's about the last thing that I think they should be doing. I think this Hearns injury is going to be a big big impact. And maybe it's good in it motivates them. But I don't feel good about the fact that all of the Cowboys are standing there watching. Hearns crying that seems that. And I'm not trying to be a jerk. I know that sounds heartless, Nick. But it seems like this is going to impact them emotionally looked shook. And I don't know if he's going to stay, but he looks shook he looked wide eyed. I will say this. I remember going back to last basketball season first game of the year, and the Celtics and Hayward went down with that gruesome gruesome injury looks somewhat similar to what Hearns is dealing with right now. And a lot of people wondered how the Celtics would react, and they actually fought back, and they used it as motivation, and it drove them the play better. I don't know what's going to happen with the Cowboys. This is one of those things when you don't know how a team is going to react because they could react either way. They could be as I said shook like back in that. Yeah. And then the game is pretty much done after that. Or they could be motivated. We'll find out three nothing. Cowboys over the Seahawks. Seven twenty eight to go in the first game. Allen Hearns has suffered a significant leg injury. They are actually at this moment rolling him off the field on a on a vehicle. So a tough situation in Dallas. Let's come back. We'll recap what happened in Houston. The colts are moving on to Kansas City. We have twenty one to seven win over the Texans. But can the colts challenge the chiefs next weekend? And which teams playing this week have the best chance of making a deep run through the playoffs. That's next on game night, ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Hey, y'all

Houston Cougars finalizing deal with Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia Mountaineers

"Very much in the college football playoff discussion, neck and neck with Oklahoma for a lot of the season. To now, go to a group of five team that we saw a couple of years ago even on Houston's best day when things are breaking right for them in that Tom Herman era was still a fringe contender. Best for college football's ultimate prize. They don't want to put a group of five team in the college football playoff. But that's the reality. I think they beat Oklahoma that year didn't they? I mean, and they still didn't get inaugarated lost some games down the stretch. But they put the others good season as you could probably have with the schedule. They had which was very difficult. They won games against high quality teams just perplexing to me. It kind of reminds me a couple of about five four or five years ago when Tommy Super Bowl left, Texas Tech to go to Cincinnati and thinking you left the big twelve. A group of five school. And that's the same thing. You're seeing right here. Overseers the second best hair to Mike Gundy in all of college football. He's leaving us at the kind of balding mullet. Sliding down there. It looks great. When it's wet. I just I'm curious to see why this happened what he thinks he'll be able to achieve at Houston that he could not achieve and West Virginia. Just doesn't make any sense. That's that's the biggest question that I can't really answer from coaching standpoint. You're taking yourself out of the situation where you have a real shot in the national championship. You're putting yourself in a group of five area where you have the best season ever. You might be able to strike once in a while my baby get lucky and get into the playoffs. But realistically, you're going from a spot where you have year in and year out opportunities to find your way into the playoff. You're going from that to Houston and also a well known college football coach if you wanted to do just leave West Virginia. Maybe there weren't a lot of great openings this year, which you felt like they would have been another elite power five opening the he would have been qualified to take in some fan base would have said, hey. With this guy's done of West Virginia. We'll take him over here. If you don't want him anymore, but instead of going to Houston, which you're not to disparage that job, but I just don't feel like it's the best job the data's holders qualified for. So there's some familiarity state the obvious he was an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach their two thousand eight to two thousand nine so he's not altogether unfamiliar with the area. We also know there's a number of other things that also also factor into this. I mean living in Houston as opposed to living where he has been in West Virginia. You don't know what his preference becomes in a lot of that wild and wonderful. It is true. I will say one of the interesting things me to be if we find out is what is by out is Houston. That'll tell us how long time he thinks. He's there that get you caught up on some of what is trending Golic and wingo on ESPN radio and ESPN two. My Golic junior. Bobby carpenter? I'm Jason Fitz. College Football Playoff Rankings: UCF jumps Ohio State, moves to No. 9 as top eight holds

"Lot of moving at least as far as college. Football's concern, you look at the latest rankings the first movement that we notice as UCF moving up a couple of spots to number nine, but the top eight all the same Mike Leach coach of number eight Washington state and earlier on ESPN radio was asked how much he discusses the rankings with his team. We don't talk about it, all, you know. I mean because of. Really had any impact on our season. I mean, everybody get ahead. Head kicked in. I forget the games we play. We played eleven games survey thought, we're going to get our grade or so and and we did. So then so if we listened to that stuff, then we wouldn't have worn the games we have. And so listen to it. Now, it's not gonna help us win there. You know? I mean, the best thing we can do is just just to have a great practice tomorrow. Is we're getting ready for Washington in Washington. Yeah. Washington's a great football team. And they're loaded up, and you know, they dumped people in the NFL every year. So we gotta go out there and play good Mike Leach coach of Washington state, which hold steady at number eight in the rankings, the four playoff teams are still the same Georgia, Oklahoma number five and six then there's that bunching of LSU Washington state and UCF at seven eight nine earlier on ESPN radio Jason Fitz and Mike Golic junior and dad, I'm a little surprised that Washington state didn't jump LSU for whatever that would mean again. But I was surprised at that LSU. I think they they played rights hammered rice. It was and Washington state put it at fifty five at halftime. I resort in Washington state has been looking really good. I thought they should've jumped up at least past LSU, and this one I think to that extent. Like, this is a little bit of the committee telling us that the larger body of work they've made up their mind. They have a good

Cowboys, Dez Bryant and Dallas discussed on SportsCenter AllNight

"Sportscenter allnight espn radio espn app get the feeling of being rewarded with gold status at shell fuel rewards program download the fuel rewards app joy to start saving five cents a gallon today welcome back sportscenter allnight on espn radio and espn app of john rider and the biggest story of friday was the cowboys releasing receiver dez bryant which will save dallas eight and a half million against the cap this season was the cowboys letting go brand is surprise move sarah spain and jason fitz on espn radio's spended fits this actually came as a surprise to me i knew that with the way that their salary cap looked and the number of free agents they've signed six free agents they franchise the guy they tendered a guy they just we're going to really struggle to find the space to have the cap it for dez at the production level that he had so it's kind of combination of production costs and then attitude and injuries as well but i thought that they would have them come into this meeting with jerry jones that we'd heard so much about today and sort of demand a pay cut or or some or he's gone they didn't give them that option it was just you're in and you're out i think that's a surprising to it because when we think cowboys love or hate jerry jones love or hate the organization you think about loyalty that's a piece that jerry jones is really prided himself on he stays connected to the guys that are more than just players they're part of the brand of the dallas cowboys now to the point of the salary cap i understand sort of some of the constraints but i'll always go back to something that tim brown said years ago in the nfl back in the days when salary cap was tougher to navigate than it is now tim always look.

Masters hype unlike any other, mainly because of Tiger Woods

"Welcome to spain and fits the podcast i don't know if you guys have heard but tiger woods is back at the master's that's all i can confirm he is there and he is playing i cannot confirm that he is back overall the pending on your definition of back you're wondering based on the amount of coverage that he got if he's back then the answer that is one hundred percent absolutely yes because this is basically the tiger woods show featuring the masters and not too shabby fits it spain in bits on espn radio the spn app and sirius xm channel eighty sarah spain and jason fitz with you the first round of play at the master's and tiger woods finished sort of up and down round he finished at one over so he's five shots off the current lead so not too bad but there's a lot of names between that five shots off and the leaders and to me it's this is going this first day is going to be over analyzed just like we do with every other tiger woods thing well of course because it's not good enough to tiger plays he also gives us something to talk about tiger which i thought he did a couple of times he tried to kill some people which was pretty interesting look plane that okay fine sys wayward shots that may or may not a crowd and for one of those particularly i looked at it and thought man i'm glad i'm not there because i just i'd be paying just not enough attention that that slight line between you saw the people scattered at one point and i realized that i would be the guy that turned around word everybody go right before the ball hit me in the head.
