You got a picture that there's like 13 people in the stands and it's like 92. It's not gonna blow the doors off 400% humidity. And it's like 8 30 a.m. on Saturday. So, you know, it's like, what are you gonna play like the hold steady or something? It just really get everybody all whipped up. I don't know what I picked. Maybe the national. Thick as a brick, which I thought. That's a really good one. Bungle in the jungle, I think it would be my answer. Actually, I might go with that. You know what? I was disappointed not to see was. So I'm not going to knock anything about it because it sort of lives up to one of the things that we preach that there needs to be more of. So it's just because it doesn't get it exactly right, or is it super compelling? Doesn't mean that it's not good in general. Here, here. Moving to the West Coast, the LPGA NASA hataoka is your winner at the LPGA LA open. It is her 6th LPGA victory and just a dominant week. She won by 5. She has a tendency to do this. She has 6 wins now, you know, this one was by 5, two of the other ones are by 6. One was by three. And I think if you watched much of that round today, it's pretty easy to see why when she gets on autopilot band, it is starts to look pretty impossible to make a bogey. I had a blast watching this tournament. I don't know what your history of watching this tournament is or how much you watch this week, but what were your takeaways? I like this golf course a lot. And so it's always enjoyable to watch a little bit. I love you can probably say this about 96% of LPGA players, maybe like Lexi would be the only person I wouldn't say it about was just such fun tempo to.

Walking off 18 green shooting 78, 78 on the weekend in the blood red shirt and the Venice cam following him. And the big ass smile on his face was just like pretty cool. Dude, yeah. I mean, yeah, I know he struggled, but you can lose track of it for a second, but for what he has described when he did that interview with golf digest about what is recovery process has been like and how much he misses the feeling of a crisp a well struck shot. And I would go lay outside in the grass just because I was so bored and missing all the things that I always took for granted. For him to walk off having competed 72 holes and make it to the weekend and beat a hell of a lot of professionals. This past week, you could tell really meant something just for him personally to be back in that environment with his family there and I thought that was a cool moment. I really do and I was uncomfortable watching him play golf and walk around and hobble like that and I don't know how sustainable that all is, but like took a couple screenshots today of just him wearing the red walking around because truly don't know if we'll ever see that again. There's absolutely no guarantee that we'll see him play another weekend. Again, I think he's a it goes to show you just how talented. He was on maybe 15% of his capacity. And also how fucking soft some of these other guys are. And then B, like Tiger should never, ever talk to Jason Day ever again. Jason goes to meet him. But also he's going to win at saint Andrews. Would be sick. Would watch for sure. I will for sure dap you up if that happens. I will not hesitate. And it'll be like, if Tiger wins in saint Andrews, it'll be the single coolest sporting moment of all time. It'll make it'll make the masters like the last masters that he won, what, 20, 19, 1919, that'll make that look like minor league ship. I do worry about the putting. It is very much not good. And I don't think I would expect him to put better at Augusta relative to the field than I would somewhere like links. On the weekend it was bad. First couple rounds was fine. On the flip side though, I have to imagine he's on so many anti inflammatory pills and all sorts of stuff that I just hope he can he's been in the cauldron here and I hope he can kind of wean himself off of that and get back to normal life for the next 8 weeks to ten weeks. Good question here from Colin Lamar over under Tiger tournament appearances in 2022, 2.5. That's a great question. Does the hero count? Yeah, I know. It depends on what DNC. But in the current season, until current I would say, I would say two. I'll say two. It sounded like he just didn't know yet about southern hills. I think you're hitting that thing like one 71. I mean, there's no chance you knew. There's no chance you knew. These guys are just different. And it's not the same thing, but in the Rory video that we just put out when we ask him, didn't we ask him like, what's the yardage there? And we like made him guess and he was like a couple of yards off. I mean, they've just seen it over and over and over again. And it's different, but it's similar in that they just know everything that's going on at all times, and they can just eyeball it. Right. Yeah, 'cause he said, I think it was right when he stepped off the tee, he was like, 'cause the other thing you get is 6 iron like two 40 out of the gate or something like that. 'cause it was downwind and he made a guess on it. I think that's where it was because then he only had, I don't know, one 90 in, he kind of shortened it up and then pulled it a little left, but it's crazy. "If you guys were standing on a range picking out targets with 6 iron, than it is if you're going to go down and play pirates cove, where I know you've had some success in the past. I wish that was a joke, but it's true. What I enjoyed most about the weekend of the gulf is that this is kind of a trope that I've tried it out before. It's just so enjoyable for me to watch a tournament in which the leaders on the weekend shoot 70 or 69 or 71. And that is good. That is just good enough. And John ram on Sunday shot one under. Ella Torres shot one under Jason Day shot even par, not on Sunday, during the final round on Saturday. And all those guys were relevant the entire time, like shooting par does not move you down the leaderboard necessarily. Or at least it doesn't bottom you out in which you have to shoot 64 to win it. I know Luke list shot 66 and chased these guys down, but none of those guys felt like their game was off on during the final round. They were just grinding out on a tough golf course and it is just such a welcome site at this point in the season where as we've discussed, you go from camp Smith winning at 34 under into the la Quinta event or the Sony open where these guys have to reach 22 to 27 under in order to win. You know, as a la tourist and list got to 15 under, and it felt like a goddamn grind to get there. I love that type of golf. It adds more variance. It is just a better viewing experience in my opinion. Yeah, I think 6 of the top ten guys shot in the 70s on the on Sunday. There's also something to Torrey pine south. It's almost come full circle where I think people were sort of over it for the U.S. open. Because we almost just see it too often. But now that we've seen it that often, it's like a, you know, it's a familiar face. We've come back now. Solid. It's our third golf tournament here in 12 months. And Tiger has always played here. So people know it. And in terms of entertainment, when it comes to a golf tournament, knowing the course that people are on. I mean, that's half the magic of the masters. I would say. So even though you can have your gripes about the finishing stretch for sure, yeah, 14 and 15 just being sort of the same par four back to back. It's kind of weird and the fact that 18, the only drama is just the fact that you dropped a pond into this area, this inland area on a cliff side piece of property. And that's the main drama of the tournament. You can get golf architecture, snobbish about it, and you'll have a fair case to make. But from an entertainment perspective, having a hard golf course that rewards good ball striking brings a lot of good players into the mix..

"Keep saying Bryson's game is really not not built for this place, but I mean, he's already got a trophy from your field and his his trophy case so How can I hack and I pick against him, But I gotta tell you to me, I cannot believe we're not talking about Jason Day. I mean, I know his puddings been horrendous this year, he admits having lost confidence in the putter. But how can this guy who knows the golf course is a member here have not played better over the years. And how often do we see on tour? Somebody who goes into a tournament? Played poorly, not expecting to do anything. All of a sudden they snap out of it someplace where they really like playing and Jason Day loves playing this golf course I like I look for him to be around Sunday afternoon. Well, the thing with Jason Day could be to Mr Golf that, you know, we know that his mom is not a healthiest right now. So some of that could be affecting him as well. Just off the top of my head, But you're right. That is such a great point with him this being in his backyard. And CNN running around town. Actually, sometimes that, Jason, you know here and arguably, he should be, boy. He should be in contention. You'd feel like every year in here since he should know every blade of grass and so on. But Yeah, some fantastic points there with the golfers, But we saw John Rahm earlier when we were coming in, and, um, we didn't. Obviously we didn't get to talk to him Talk to him, But, you know, he's the guy who's defending and clearly we know that was in July, and we know that. You know, it was a different time of year here. I don't know how different I haven't played the golf course enough, like some people. To know that how different does this golf course play in July as opposed to this first week in June, if any, would do you? Do you think that effects anything with John the out of it Because of that, or his game was better than you have any thoughts on John Graham? Yeah, I don't think he's out of it. But I don't think his winning last year as anything to his being a favorite in anyways whatsoever. It's a totally different golf course. Just from from the fact that's redesigned, but also the conditions are so much different than it was last July. And I think like Colin, Mark Ali, you know he wanted the week before the work day's thing on because playing well, so I'm not gonna say he's out of it, Of course, but it and you do get confidence winning on a golf course. This is a different golf course than the one that they play on. So there's certainly some benefit to having one here. You can. You know, in your mind, you get some confidence in Tampa one here before I can win here again. You know the Jason Day thing? I think it's more about him being under the radar. Nobody expects anything for him this week. So I think that's a benefit. I do like the idea of Maura Colic, and he's such a great iron player. He's so smooth if he gets the putter working, look out on D. I think In addition to Jason, you know as far as Australians Adam Scott is a guy that I take fifth beer field as well as anybody that the type of irons that he hit me, he says. "Obviously, let's start. Tiger woods. Okay. He's eight to one which, again I'm going to say is ridiculous. I would never been anybody to win a golf tournament eight to one. But if I had to I probably wouldn't take Tiger Woods in this one, am I wrong in saying? No. You're not wrong and saying that. And let me just preface that by saying a couple of things. You know, Beth page black is a serious golf. Course it is long. It's just a, you know, Scotia under seventy five hundred yards. It's got an incredible incredible slope of one fifty five so for people that are listening that may not be that attuned into golf having a plan. A golf course it has a slope rating of one fifty five is an analogous to climbing by climbing Mount Everest. You know what I mean? It's steep in Scott, it's got a course rating Bryant of a kitsch over seventy seven while that. And combine all of that. I mean it's incredibly difficult. Number two. They expect some weather, you know, whether it be, I think I've Friday and Sunday hole with a chance. A rain and I think that's going to eliminate half of the field, right there number one, because of the weather, and even if they didn't have whether there, Brian, I think half of the field is eliminated because if you're not a bomber on that golf course your chances are swimming to win in my opinion. So and what I've heard about this golf course, the greens are fairly small, it's a, it's a ball striking golf course. So a guy that hits the ball long and straight probably gonna win this thing. But I guess you could say that about many majors out there. Right. So I look at a guy like Brooks. Kapka. Okay, kept is around ten to one. He's one of the favorites I'll tell you right now. I'd rather put my money on captain Tiger Woods. Well, I agree because kept goes is playing very, very good golf right now. Secondly, tiger winning the masters, you know, getting a lot of pricks and winning the masters but a wins a win. Okay, how hard it is to win a major little go back to back and. Win two majors. It just doesn't happen. And I just don't think the, the outer in tiger saver, especially if it is cold and rain tiger does not play good in cold or rainy weather. He just doesn't well, that's because he's a worst. That's what he requires conditions. That's because he's maintenance. That's why Dennis gimme gimme a long odds darkhorse in this thing. Oh boy. We know he's going to win more tournaments and he'll probably win more majors. But he's in my opinion. He will never be the number one player in the world ever again. I happen to agree with you. And I think right now with him. He says he's a grobian he's getting better, especially the short Dame as funny, but he's got demons. And I think that's the only thing that's stirring up on the greens, real. Masonic temple and over thinking that people have been saying that for a long time. Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how long guys it takes for him to shake those demons and and get back to being him. Let's talk a little bit about Jason day. If you ask me, a guy, I wouldn't really call him a long shot because he's about thirty two one in most books. But Jason day has had a lot of success on, Bethpage. He's had a lot of success on this golf course. I know he's not the best player in the world, but he used to be he knows what it's like to win big golf tournaments. It seems like he is getting much back into form. And he's playing some better golf again. He's my guy that I look at nice say, well might might not be a bad idea to put a couple of bucks on Jason day. He said success here, he can win this tournament. And then I look at a couple of other guys like Patrick Canley, like, Tony female these guys that I think are do they've been in contention, and majors before they certainly have the talent to win it, and it just for them. It's just about getting over the hump. Those are a couple of guys, maybe not the biggest household names, but guys. Is that our top twenty players in the world that I think can win tomorrow? Well, I agree with you. I, I disagree a little bit with can leave. And though he's having a hell of a season but you happen to mention the guy where my money's on to win this tournament. That's Tony female. Yeah. He's all the tools. He hits the ball long way Jos the ball. And he he's got a magnificent. Nag -nificant short game. He's an incredible athlete as long as he doesn't sprain his ankle, a couple days before a major. He'll be he'll be just fun. Every did that the masters. Zander Shaw fell doesn't. He owns that the long drive record like four hundred fifty yards. Doesn't he? Zander sharply. Yeah. Yeah. I was not aware of that. I was not aware of that. I mean he's obviously a fine fine player. I just personally, just don't seem in the Knicks on this. I wouldn't you know, think to bet them, but again, anything can happen, J D And don't forget, all these guys are damn good. But there's certain things you have to have on a golf course like this to really up your percentage in, if you don't have I think you're going to be hitting your gifts your head against well, obviously short game and putting anywhere. But you gotta have the lake to gotta get it in the stairway on this golf course. And again, I think they haven't, you know, this, this course, is held what three or four different big big tournaments before and experience is, is really kind of out the window. I think it just got to look at the guys that are coming in that are kind of hot playing goes speaking of hot. I'm glad you mentioned that because Dustin Johnson has a very hot wife and pulling the Gretzky he is let me mention a few guys Dustin. Johnson. I mentioned, his trophy, wife, Rory mcilroy is twelve to one Rickie, Fowler guy. We haven't talked about is right there at sixteen to one Jon Rahm and other one eighteen to one with Justin Rose. And then you have Molinari in D Shambo at twenty two one those guys that I just mentioned. Is it fair to say that, that those odds are correct? And those guys have a good shot to get this thing as well. I do. I do. I think this one they picked it. They take pretty good. You know, again, there's ways that you can play is, you know, playing really, really good golf not being the longest hitter of the world. It's not like it was blowing. Like it does at the Honda where blows thirty miles an hour. And guys just hate that golf course. This is a golf course. That guy's really like 'cause it forces you to hit golf shots, and I'll tell you you watching Paul Casey. There's a reason that guy is always in contention at the masters. Funny that you say that because there were plenty of guys Jason day who said that they were playing in his Brooke because it reminds them the most of agus, correct? So now, it just reminds them of Augusta has not even close to the speed, no or the length or even the width of Augusta. Because so I did a thing. I was asking guys. So I got seven seven guys or eight guys. And I asked them, you know, for here's your holes. Here's your holes. Here's your host. Give me the most important was the key to this whole and not one dude was like what you have to be on this side. And every guy started with you have to hit the fairway you have to hit the fairway, and I thought to myself as long as we've been hearing about how much of a second shot. Golf course Augusta is because of where you have to hit the green every guy that I spoke to which were all masters champions, every single one of them every single masters champion said the same thing you have to hit the fairway you do. But if you have any chance like you're not gonna accidents birdie a hole in Augusta, and it's not going to happen. Your second shot of where you land it because those gray. Raines I'd say maybe the eighteen holes two of them have greens where there's flat areas. Maybe. Yeah. So you have zero chance of scoring at. That course, if you don't land your second shot in the right area of the green to put yourself in a position to make the putt now Augusta's not hard to hit. If you don't hit the fairway at Augusta. You're not screwed. It's not accept on fifteen yet as one whole day. That's right fifteen. You gotta hit the right, so yeah. Because in your popping it out for to your punching up for three you're laying. You're you're giving away scoring hole or not doesn't really matter on them.
