"You and i are very young and beautiful right so these things are still happening until we fix the system until we stop teaching these things until he stopped teaching antiquated notions. Like black people. Experience pain differently right. But i mean that that's just a a very common one or you know you. I was even taught when i was very young in nursing school in terms of like. Oh if a black woman comes and has pelvic pain or domino pain you know you should screen for an sti right away like over insist or appendicitis are many of the myriad of other things that can be going on in your abdomen right like that so i think even now in two thousand twenty one i guess. The most recent data we have is two thousand and nineteen's data but black women are three times more likely to die during childbirth than white women. That's in the united states and that something like that is just cringe-worthy and that's deeply deeply rooted in racism and the racism of the healthcare system. And so until there is a systemic fix that we have to continue to work on. And it's a multi pronged approach right. There isn't a magic switz- that's obviously going to turn off racism or we may be would have figured that out already. Same thing applies in healthcare. Unfortunately while we're trying to fix the system it keeps disproportionately impacting people of color and block. Folks like an la county. For instance. where i am you were four to five times more likely to get covid if you were black and you were three times more likely to die from it in los angeles county. That's real those are back and so when the next pandemic comes because it is coming if we don't continue to fix the system it's gonna disproportionately impact people of color in the final thing. I'll say about that as you know. I'm i'm elated. That california's is one of those places you know. We lifted all the restrictions this week. It's really fantastic from kobe standpoint. But i have to take a step back and sort of really evaluate where we are because we're only at about forty to forty five percent of the black population in la county having at least one shot whereas about seventy percent of the overall population in la county has at least one shot. Well so we're okay to move forward when the black and brown communities are not yet fully vaccinated but we're because the white communities are more fully vaccinated at this point. I mean it's it's sort of like a slap in the face without being an overt slap in the face so while i'm elated that seventy percent of the place where i live has been vaccinated. Also we're once again leaving black and brown folks behind we are. We are a. I can speak to that as well in los angeles i went to my my primary care doctor and the first thing he asked me so. Do you have obama care. I'm gainfully employed had related insurance. That was that was the first thing out of his mouth was how what type of insurance do you have. Obamacare was the first thing i that. There's anything wrong with obamacare. But it was very indicative of how he viewed me as a black man but we talked about the problems. I want to offer a solution to our viewers because there is a wonderful app called earth by a great woman. In kimberly aller seals. Who created this app for women of color to be able to rate in fine other. obgyn's other female reproductive health professionals and get the appointments but also rate them on their experience. It's called earth because it's taking the taking the bias out of birthright so birth. Earn very clever. I go and download the app. Because she is truly revolutionizing the way that we take back the power when it comes to healthcare at least for women and we're giving ourselves a seat at the table giving us a and just a few genes before we go first of all. So i'm just excited to you. Know this really is my passion. I love the media. But i also love what i do at work and so you know. I think i'm just going to have a little extra pep in my step tomorrow at least sang holiday. Where we're celebrating juneteenth. I guess it's a celebration. And i get to still be you know. Try to impact my community every day as as best as i can. I love that before we go. James what is the one thing you want the audience to know about Just your experience being. Lgbtq plus in your experiencing in your experience being a black man of the lgbtq plus community. I think it's important to recognize that. Everyone's experiences is different with this. And unique to their own and that it evolves changes who i identify how identify as a black queer man has changed in the twenty four years since i came out while You know and so i think. Meet people where they are. I i respect that gender. Might be confusing for you. I respect that. You might not fully understand this but meet me where i am. I'm gonna meet you where you are that we extend that respect to everybody. We will continue to move the black and queer communities forward boom there. You have it. "I'm sure that almost probably feels like a luxury of you the way the season's been broken up in so many different ways. One of you worked on since the Seton Hall game rebounding, rebounding and rebounding, right, you know, just being more physical on the glass. Block outs. You know, again, we're not gonna be one of the bigger teams, obviously in the Big East and Seton Hall was the big is the biggest team in the Big East by a landslide, and we thought we just got out toughed and and they were way more physical than us. We didn't set the tone. The right way early on in the game, Even when it was close. We were blocking out and I thought that was the biggest downfall we had of the game coach three point shooting in the second half of the lost to create in three point shooting Pretty much for the entire game against Seton Hall really wasn't what this team is typically are capable of doing there. "They will, um Those guys are the are the captains. Paul Scrub Zach Freeman, Jason Carter. You know when when things are going bad, That's when you need leadership. That's when you look for your veteran players. And you know, Paul Scruggs has been the Alfa Doll for these. These musketeers. Um It's really rare to have a sophomore elected as a captain. The captains were were voted on as bythe players. The coaches didn't have anything to do with it. So it says, a lot about sex. Approach and his respect amongst his teammates to be voted a captain and Jason Carter. He's an experienced senior. You know, he, you know he's been kind of a stabilizing force for the Musketeers. Ironically, had I thought had his best. Probably 12 minutes of basketball in the last game against Seton Hall had 10 points in the first couple minutes of the game. Then he got Popped in the head by his own teammate and had to go out ended up with 12 points and seven rebounds. But he was on his way to having a big night against Seton Hall. He played against the seven footer. I think the key with Jason And Travis talked about it. Said. Hey, look, you're the one of the most athletic guys on the team and you need to play like it. And he did that against Seton Hall. In that game. He had 12 points, seven rebounds. Hopefully, he can continue to do that. You think you should be prospects may or may not like being prospected but no one likes someone who approaches them while pretending to be what they think a successful salesperson should be always remember to be yourself be human. I can't say it enough. I promise you that whoever you speak with will appreciate It it they crave authentic conversations. It's why they put up their walls why they hang up on you why they tell you not interested because they feel like you're just like everyone else who approaches them took a phony smile slick lines and their hand out trying to get something from them again be human second know the value you have for the other person if they are a good fit for what you offer. What will it mean to their life their career their business if they buy from you, where will it lead them? What does success look like? How will it transform them in some way big or small on the flipside? What will their life be like if they don't buy from you? Well, they struggle in their career business. Will they underperform and potentially get fired weather company's shut down because that's what they're doing now is so bad that they're on the direct path to crashing and burning most people in a prospecting roll don't know these things they go through training learn about the products learn about the competition wage. Know what to say for why they're better than anyone else out there memorize how to handle objections and avoid talking about the downsides of what they're selling. I see this so much where people are just focused on Thursday through the process and not digging deep but what they're missing is what truly matters most the value to the other person if I'm a doctor and I know that if I can't get you to do the surgery I can perform for you. You will die in the next month. How hard do you think I would try and persuade you to agree to the surgery? How much would I take it personal if you walked out of my office and did nothing instead how with my conversation change from me offering a way to help because I have my own surgery quota and slots to fill in at the hospital to knowing what will happen to you. If you don't let me help you most likely you are canceling life-or-death Solutions, but if you want to be successful at authentic prospecting, you must know the value you hold for your prospects and what their life will be like without you and if you don't know the reasons or the dog Seasons aren't very compelling you will have a really tough time succeeding long-term and the key is is to always see the value in what you have to offer then what happens is when you're doing your prospecting a phone calls in person online then it shifts then it really becomes about how can I help you? If it's a good fit and then it's all about the other person when you do that the energy shifts and when you combine that with being your authentic human self your conversation start different. They have a different tone. There's a different goal a different approach and you're focusing on the other person how you can help them instead of just how do I make my 200 calls today? How do I send 500 emails today? How do I reach out to as many people as possible and play a numbers game instead. It's about reaching out to people and talking to them uncovering their situation because you care and because you know that if it's a good fit they need you more than you need them. Always remember off. There's eight billion people on the planet. And with that means there's more than enough people for you to speak to reach out to and potentially sell to or set up appointments with which means you don't need every person you don't need each person. And this is where it gets tough because some people play that as the numbers game and if I just do my million cold calls, then it's okay because I'm playing the number game, but

Midterm election results begin to pour in
"Were so angry about Merrick garland, President Obama's supreme court nominee who never got a vote in the Senate. He never got a vote because Republicans had control and majority leader Mitch McConnell had the decision of we will hold a vote on him. We won't hold vote on him. He decided not to hold a vote. It didn't happen. So with Republicans maintaining control of the Senate that means McConnell will be able to hold votes on a whole lot of judicial nominees for President Trump. They can continue putting conservative judges on the court. And if the Democrats do take back control of the house and pass a permanent fix for for Dhaka. Recipients are or many of other things that that Democrats want to do that means that the Republican Senate can just not vote on it or vote for something else. And here's one more thing if Democrats want to push impeachment the idea that a Republican controlled Senate would vote to convict a president who's been impeached by the house is somewhere around zero percent. And how close are Democrats to their goal of retaking the house we've been saying Twenty-three seats need needed to take control of the house. How far along are they at this hour of the night about halfway there? They've picked up about a dozen seats at this point in time. And that puts them in pretty good track considering some any of the key races. Democrats thought would be that first wave seats. They pick off are out in California. Where polls haven't closed yet. How are they doing in the governor's races? They're doing pretty well as well. They have picked up gubernatorial seats in Illinois. And I believe Michigan as well. Democrats have picked up seats there. They've also defended seats in Colorado. Jared polis won the open governor seat. There Ohio had been a race. They'd been getting a lot of tension. Richard cordray had been re leading a lot of poll. He's the democrat running for governor on. Hi, oh, he's actually trailing the Republican Mike dewine right now by about seven points, which is notable since Sherrod Brown. One a really easy reelection in the Senate race. No a couple of the most prominent governors races. We've been watching in Georgia and Florida still too close to call that is right Florida is basically fifty fifty Republican Rhonda Santa's has a fifty to forty nine percent lead over democrat, Andrew gillum and in Georgia. Let me just scroll to that on my screen. I think I would remember if we'd call that race. Yeah. But with sixty seven percent reporting Brian Kemp, the Republican is leading Stacey Abrams. The democrat fifty four to forty five percent that would be notable. Because nearly every poll had that race neck and neck. Well, we're going to hear more about Georgia actually in right now. Bill of Georgia public broadcasting is with us, and he can tell us. More about that Bill. I'm Michelle good to talk to you. So how's it looking there? Well, I think you've got to be careful about the margin that you're hearing right now in the Georgia governor's race because the big metro Atlanta counties, which are predominantly, of course, democratic are still those precincts are out in big numbers. Dekalb county one of the state's biggest and most powerful democratic counties. Very few of the votes. Counted their Fulton County Clayton county counties in the immediate metro area. And what what you have to have had had seen was kept building up. The kind of Lee showing right now across rural Georgia to withstand the. Influx of democratic votes. So I think it's really fair to say that race right now really is way too close to call. And just remind us if you would have why it is that people are so interested in this race. I'm gonna take my colleague more licenses instruction here, and and not call it a waiver. But, but you cannot ignore the fact that there's been tremendous excitement about this race from all across the country excitement and anxiety, and and actually some anger and tell us why remind us of why I think there are several reasons number one, of course, Stacey Abrams if she wins would become the first African American female governor in the United States. She's also running as a progressive democrat Democrats run as real Democrats in Georgia. They run to the right. And in the last decade, plush it hasn't gotten anywhere. Jason Carter tried to do that. When he ran for governor in two thousand fourteen Jimmy Carter's grandson, he didn't get very far. So Stacey Abrams is come in and said, no, no, no, I am basically a liberal Democrat. And I'll run his one Brian camp runs as a very conservative Republicans. So you've set up a dynamic here that we have not seen in Georgia for a very very long time. And I. Has made for a really exciting race. I'm sorry. You didn't mention Oprah. Could we mentioned? I just think we should mention Oprah. Because once you do that at and who came in to what campaign for Stacey Abrams. You know, Oprah told the crowd she did to events
