Duck Dynasty's Missy Robertson Has a New Series of Children's Books

"That today I get to talk to Missy Robertson, who has a series of children's books out Missy, welcome to the program. Thank you so much for having me, Eric. Now I want to be clear, you're married to Jase. Of course. The best looking one. And that's not so much. Now, come on, they all got beards. We don't know what any of them really look like. You would agree with you. We don't know what an evil look like. But all of you, and I just find this funny because your father in law Phil, you know, he's all about they need to get married young. And you all get married pretty young and have kids young. And so you're telling me that you're now a grandmother, seriously? Yes, she's three months old and she's perfect. Yes. Well, congratulations on looking so great as a grandmother. But I just want to, I want to say that your family does represent family values and the best sense. And I'm glad having written a lot of children's books myself that you have written some kids books. So tell me about them. They're brand new. They're just out like right now. Yeah, so I've written one in a series of children's books for brave books and the one that I co authored with them is called because you're my family. So I guess that's why they thought of us for this book and me in particular because family is very important to us to the robertsons and actually just to Christians in general. I mean, God is the one who orchestrated the structure of family and so it is vital to the stability of our relationships and I mean all the way up to our nation and internationally to the world. It's very, very important. The stability of our family.

"And also, it's in the show notes. So no, try the mascara. And posted the group about it because you're going to love it. Literally try to mascara and tell me how easy it is to take off. True story. Speaking of taking off, let's switch it up. Good one. Thank you. So she is living at bab's sans kefir. See, this is what makes me upset because she's doing well. Right? And you know what's happening? So she's gonna see kiefer's gonna see if he can stay with his cousin. Right, okay. His cousin, though. But also like, you've had a cousin and you've been like homeless, staying in random beach houses. You know, I don't get it because they need to be together. So they've never been a part since they've dated. So they met, they moved in together. Codependent. Okay, so she's living with Jase. She's focusing on schoolwork and school and work and Babs. So Babs and her talk about respecting each other. And she's like, all right, let's shake it out. And she's like, actually, let's hug on it. And she was like, yeah, I will shake on it. Thank you. But that's what I mean. She's not nice either. No. And then you see like a cute moment like that and then she's like, yeah, just shake your hand and you're like, you know, it's like you can't even like warm up a little bit, nothing. She misses kiefer. So she's ends up babysitting chase wall barbers at work. Well, moms at work. Yeah. Yeah. And she takes them to the store. What did you need? A blinded you need that you had to go out. That was down the block. She's like, I have to. I had to. She had to get like a blunt wrap or something. Right. So she's not allowed to leave the house with him. Okay, so how would you have reacted if you were Babs? I would have been like, you know..

"Who say in their mind. They did not think it. Worthwhile to t t to participate the in have a knowledge of god. They didn't think it worthwhile therefore he gave them over to a depraved man. To do what are not to be and even the little stuff that we talk about like this morning that we were in doug line so we've hunted this same spot four days in a row so i get blindness born. I've got a flashlight. 'cause i'm looking for tight snakes on the way and i have a shooting how that pop out of that have popped up out of the last two days but when a light hit it was a majestic spiderweb that had been formed overnight and author with a spider right in the middle of it and i thought I mean it literally could not have moved out of my seated position without hidden. He had he had material. That is much smaller than the smallest thread is is. You're looking at it and this spotter was not. He was like an eighth of an inch of my my pinky nail fingernail. This thing was tiny. And i thought and there's a lot of web there. Yeah i'll how in the world did this much web come out of his rear end in one night. Jase experts in that particular field. Whatever they call it have studied that for years and are trying to figure out how something could come out of the rear end of a spider that you could go across the bridge tied all. Put another one back where you came from. They they and their weight on the perfect breeze and the threat comes out of a pouch and look and the breeze cares across the road or in front of the duck blind like you had shooting port. Yeah he put it on the breeze. He didn't 'cause you say well. How did he did he walk down now. Ragged sticky sticky is. It comes out of his rear in. And it's in the in the winds guided and it cares at across for you where you get up every moment that whole..

"What three home runs. Six rb has been one of the best centers on this team batting. Well over three hundred. A sung percentage over eight hundred. And you know going back to springer. Yeah it. it's tough to watch. It was tough to watch and i. It is uncomfortable because we saw the glimpse of him during the very first home. Stand when the jase came back because that was his hottest streak of the season you saw him healthy. Eating home runs every game. We see or we have seen a glimpse of the healthy springer this year. But unfortunately we just haven't seen it enough. But i do give him credit. I agree with you. There's no regrets. They're bringing him back when they did. I would have done the exact same thing over and over again especially the situation. They're in in the month of september. I there's no there's no doubt or there's no fault for what happened But now when you look at it you know is it. Maybe is a maybe a better idea to take this chance and make this push without him for a couple of weeks and you bring them back. you know. Maybe the last week of the season and he's a little bit healthier. I'm not saying that's going to happen. Because i believe he's going to be. There's a chance he's back this weekend but that was what's going through my head at the time going all the way back to that game. He was rolling around in pain. 'cause the thing too is it's not like he's just uncomfortable when he's running walking like you can tell it's impacting his actual and you know he's striking out a lot of week contact and we got a couple of good hits back in the athletic series but hugh a lot of week a lot of we contact and it's affecting obviously numbers but it's also just you know at the time it just. It's affecting his play. That's that's the that's the thing. I'm looking at the moses. It's not like something he's dealing with on the side when he's running a first base it's in the batter's box and that's what concerns me the most and that's why at the time i was saying i remember saying to myself. I'm like maybe it's a better idea as much as it sucks and as much as it's crazy to say but this team's been so good that maybe there's a chance that you take the chance and you shut them down for another couple of weeks and you bring back for that last run but obviously who knows what the.

"A place that we we haven't done anything to. But i'm like when i imagine where we're gonna live ver. How long if. I see what he can do with just a ball in a in a galaxy and universe. That's so big. We're just looking at one little ball that we're all with all this detail so so i'll let my mind imagine. Oh we're we're gonna have a lot of fun and enjoyment and wow because just that power of being able to create all. These things is the most amazing thing that i can even imagine. And i'm seeing. It is hard to wrap my head around so i'm sure would you don't. It's a big universe outer you. Don't think that if he's bigger than the universe that we're not gonna figure out a cool place to hang out all around. Yeah here right. The wherever jesus is is where you find something good. I disliked wherever jesus is is is the point. If you're there you made it. You will be wild beyond your wildest dreams and there's a certain amount of truth to your doctor analogy that when you go on a trip who you go with does make the trip. I mean it is better than the destination. Because i cannot stand when i asked the question. Because he's like. I'm thinking about going overseas and she was like okay. You know greece we think or what asa whose goal she said me. Is that enough. I was like. I wanna know who else is going because basically what our gave her this arm. I'll get on this. I'm like get the lisa wanna know who's going does matter lane. Jesus that's why. I'm looking at things so couple of things i want to mention here at the we're almost out of time Almost so Leeson are going to be in ocean city new jersey on august. Twenty eight twenty. Nine as the saturday and sunday at the ocean city tabernacle. I've never spoken in a place that called himself a tavern. I kind of like it. It's an old term from the old testament ocean city tabernacle. We're doing a marriage thing on the twenty eighth and then i'm preaching on the twenty nine so you can check out their website to get details but if you're in that area i know what surprised us. You know we're down here in west monroe louisiana you had to drive somewhere like thinking about going alison missile long trip. But up in the northeast. I mean like we're flying in philadelphia to get to new jersey in my mind that because you know we gotta drive a while to get to another state down here. But they're just hour and a half. You're wherever you're an idiot. You're in ten different states. The lesson we just gave. Because i looked up the definition of tabernacle a fixed or movable habitation typically of light construction. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe it's just little house than people inhabitant. Maybe it's things maybe it's the tent notion city. I'm gonna find out. I'll you need to go with the hebrew three four. Every houses built by someone wearing a place but god is the builder of everything and then he said but you are his house as christ lives in us and we are at t. We are a tent. You know we are temporary. Rarely here while we're get attorney less than want to mention. Don't forget We haven't mentioned this. Okay i think we proven my point okay. So there's also saying dumb as a rock demos abaga hammers. There's a lot of different numbers. What happened failed when al. Al said what are you going to be called dumb as a an i. All i heard was dumb donkey. He thought alemi awesome including josh engineers. Thought i said oh as in A star star. But i was saying dumb as a but there's a lot of people out there who thought i didn't think i thought when i didn't think anything about it because i didn't say that. So they all reacted strongly. I thought they were laughing at my job. Alvis calling me. That and i thought l. has had a metlife breakdown. I really thought. Say this is the king. James burs the bible. I mean in the grants biblically. Say dumb been sad. It's now it's been said. Jane version live or die by the cavs. He added bands not saying and so our showed a jewish guy over there over there and tell jail showed a jewish guy when ishmail was born and he said he will be wowed. The king james version said a wild ass of a man and but in the nfl v. It's his wild donkey. A man well. When i showed him he was reading from the king. James and i was reading today now. V a jewish guy but just showing them the background. I've ishmail both of them. Came from abraham so he was like i never seen that before. I said he will live a while. Ass of a man any live and hostility toward all his brothers and then you say james version and winked at him Well his sons it said the same thing they they were full of trouble and they were all. Wow donkeys of me as well. Technically al was right because he didn't say that i thought he did. And i thought people were going to be offended because there's a lot of people out there who are there like this. Is your first beeping opportunity on the podcast where they put the little peep. I don't think it'd be. I think it would be a little crude. Yeah to to use that terminology grandfather. But he wasn't using it. But i thought he was. It was thought well once. They told me what they thought. I said when. I played back in my mind. Oh oh i see how that sounded like that. But i will say this jason as far as your lifestyle is concerned and any upcoming grandfathers who find out that information on their birthday. Good fixing bill Noticed that two things stand out about about grandfather's grand which means grand and also it means then you have another child from that group and it's great grandfathers so it's great great and grand are put together. I'm not quite sure why the human race decided to call each other great and grand when they get fifty years where they have no because it's also every generation you add is another great 'cause thank about spectrum in great great. I'm looking at all of our air. Siblings came from. Y'all you jase willie. Yup and i'll and phyllis and Jeddah i'm looking at that whole group and it's turning a a large group that are now into not only grandfather. It's great grandfather and moving into the if you last long enough what we are doing now. I'm great great. Grandfather got a fifteen and a thirteen year old granddaughter. So there's a good chance if you hang around for ten more years you will be a great great grandson double grade. So why at that term of endearment. Why is that attached to you. When you get fifty plus just entering. I'm on down away twenty five years. It's an accomplishment. It's a survival. Maybe survived generations and your progeny. You're able to. Maybe that's it. You're able to watch things happen. He's still here. It's just saying that he's he's a great. So jason ara are unashamed audience because mri asked him to has weighed in on some names that they think you mris should consider and so and so i think this is. I want to get dad's reaction on some of these. This is any profane language. Out oprah fe. We've already we've already covered by the way jazz. I'll make a pledge. I'll never call you that. A dumb a star star ever all these having amid. That's too crude for a family. Start out with your you see. I thought he did. Because i wasn't familiar with that. Say i never ever remember flashing boxes. I'm i just felt on your birthday and your explanation of what are they to call you. I just entered a zone where you know. I'm like you're not an i. I've been here a long time. It's what i'm trying to say. Here's the first from. Lynn p p. and chacha little to yuppyish familiar. Here's papa rock and big mama like that. Popol limes this is good when a missile this from tammy missy should consider honey because she's sweet j. should be called bam bam bam bam bam bam. That's pretty good papa. J grand myths. Okay up in most of these honey and the rock. There's another honey. Look on notice. Rock is so why is it. Why we're told around name so i You can give the assist. Why is it. You call me dad and jas calls me feel. Because they're weird he and willie both are strange people whose two of your dad to become by your first name. We've talked about before we think it's because we used to run a business and they used to answer the phone now strange thing when we were at that critical age of whatever three six. Because that's where they say these these psychologists they say pretty much when you get sick it's over. You know you figured out whatever you're gonna do. Well that was the most tumultuous time of your life when i was six years old you are you know just acting like a crazy wild man and so i think we just thought you know what that's not working i really think willie alger leila's he followed my lead the dad and some of you just feel it just was like oh fail. "Whoever's doing that that's what you need to get a jason attacks and his boys rat after that happened and he had a picture of the scorecards that just happened. That's all that the kinda game. Just from what i hear you talking about it that unless you're good i mean being good really helps the emotional level just being good at it does but the problem is even the even the pros even. They're so much better than us but they're still chasing the perfect. Golf is a game. You never feel fully satisfied and so you just have. Maybe if you had the round of your life within you gotta come back and play another round so it never ends. It's a pursuit is topped in. Brahmins of perfection dancers. Top ten dumbest things we human came to that. I want to say that but but but we enjoy it. I've got an idea. Let's go dig eighteen holes in to put around object in it and whoever does it in the fewer strokes will call him. Great sews jay's was interesting is your your birthday is august sixteenth is also a memorable about. It is eight years after your birthday. Oh yeah. Elvis died on justice birthday august. This if i did go to counselling it would go back to a turned out to be a psalm. Do you remember you still made the day. Not i remember the day the party die. Here's all the gifts we're all sixty and they're i wait a minute. Elvis just died. And over. When i'm saying that the party died with it. I don't know where everybody went. But they left there and now every year after that for about ten years which is the reason the anniversary of the difficult. We can't celebrate your birthday. Because everybody's crying. 'cause elvis died because our family was big. Elvis fans as a great and granted is one that does that. They said i had to bring it up. Because i don't know if you've talked about. Actually maybe one of the few that actually saw elvis presley perform when i heard shreveport louisiana louisiana and that was in his early you went actually as about eight-year-old hand is fake. Was there any drinking involved. But that was blowing legit watching the chicks jump up and down. Go nuts and my kin folks the females. They had this thing they were like take a napkins and wipe the dust off of ellis's cadillac. And they they. They kept that as a memoir for years the dust off of his office cadillac yet. Some weird and would just looking around saying what what. I'm lost one of our good friends. Rhonda who've known forever and help lead him to christ she when she was a little girl. Elvis came to monroe and he was performing at the civic center and at the end he would like take these scars off and throw them out in the crowd was she was there on the front row and so he took a scarf off and he went to hand it to her where some woman comes up and grabs it away from rondo. She's ever get over. Use a little girl well to the restaurant so he pulls her up on stage when this woman took thank because they like. You said they're snatching grab and he takes his necklace at one of his necklaces. Awards gold necklace inputs over her neck in the crowd goes wild. You know she goes back out to her mom was. She's had that her whole life. I thought she was going to say she walked to the vehicle and somebody now rob and no. She had it her whole life but she's always had a dream of having her own restaurant so just within the last few years and that nothing's worth a lot of money. One is the story of it that it was actually. He isn't as chronicle because there's a picture of her own that stage. It was in the newspaper with that around internet. Ben she sold it so she could start a restaurant so i thought the price. Yeah why she waited forty years you know before she sell it. So you know saying it shows you how humanity is. I've i never listened to elvis after that because it was always known to me as the guy who ruined my birthday and i always come out as a kid. Eight years old. I was like whoever elvis. I don't like him anymore. I remember his performance. In all i can say is a lot of gyration loud. A lot of so. You'll find this interesting so this past weekend. I'm down into the southern layer actually on friday and i'm standing in line waiting to check out at rouse's at the supermarket tabloid tabloids are always right there by them where you check out and so i just it catches my eyes that they got elvis on there. Of course there are about to celebrate jason's birthday and his passing forty four years now and i look there and i'm reading that they found the person that caused elvis's death. You know somebody. He was a secret level with whatever. You know tablet. So i look at that and then i look up in the corner of the tabloid and there's a picture a dad and her all boy. I'll bet that was a star. It was the adam phillips and it said feud over fifteen million dollar fortune. Love child gets her cut. You know that was that was the title of so then. I look at it and it was just like this one that came and i'm not mentioned the tabloid because i don't talk about but because it's but well they can but look let me. I just want to mention it. Because it's all a bunch of bull but they just make up stuff is what gets me. But jay's the bad thing about these these tabloid articles that and phyllis are coming off looking fan they love each other and dad's glad to have the villains are us allies. You're the valid you know because we you know we're in now mom. They threw her the buster like. She's getting all their money. Bi-lo and if i get back on tv again this is all gonna start ripping me now. They were like they tell good about you said and it's funny because it lets me know that somebody's list or a podcast or whatever because the stuff they were quoting from you steph was actually said that you know you've enjoyed getting no or stuff like that stuff we've talked about but with us they were like. Oh those kids. They're moody and they don't want to have any money and enosis a bunch of bull the past six or seven six seven years. What mom maza will. One of them is now. I six to seven year about seven years. I have to confess that audience. That i haven't been shopping in a store at any time at any. You wouldn't find the tabloids unless i by brian's dad.

"Went ahead and disowned by district. Yeah that was bad. Move so i was. I was talking to our mutual friend jersey. Joe who's who picked up the other day and brought over great guy just. They moved here from new jersey back during covert and he was. I was. I was telling the story and kind of like we're talking about today. Must be poor and we didn't have this that and you're talking about coming to your house and you know he said you know how said i've heard tell stories before about his. Don't realize for guy like me. He said we we had stuff we. His parents are divorced. And you know they they would give them things to try to kind of favorite. You know curry favor. He says the we had stuff but he said you don't realize what you guys had. He says you're rich in love and you you did things together and you pull together and he was like i envy your child and it was really interesting to hear him. Say that 'cause 'cause you know he listened to the podcast so he's harder stories but that felt that was a great perspective on thankful for been been humble humble saga says i think even when you negotiate you know in the business world. It's always helped me. Because i thought i'm not going to be intimidated by somebody threat to not do this order like when i used to work with walmart with the duck costco tho- well we've proven you can be joyous with nothing. Yeah so but in the real world they use all this material thing leverage right. And if you're if you're not bent by that but since we weren't like since there's not like it is now we're constantly watching what you don't have on tv kids wise tv and there's commercial we don't have any of that so we didn't know we thought our lives were great and without you guys. Were richie rich. Go to your house. And we didn't think it was great. It was i mean. Mean they have a country club and air conditioning. You know it was nice that always matter that it was like a big big trip it was. It was exciting. It was it was kind of like art thing every year. We look forward to over to spend. Y'all probably wasn't thinking well we're rich and well. They were just were he. Was martin oldfield middle. It's all about perspective us boy. We're living it up here deal. You didn't have to put pushed up out of the way. It was just clear. What was the first thing i said this clear. We swam era as we had to in the summertime. You had to go down about five feet four. You found cool water top partially hot but so much what we talked about you know talking about near death experiences and people in our family you know who've gone on to be with the lord i thought about this verse. We started enrollments fourteen. It says For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself. Because all we've been told his family despite our mistakes and being there for each other if we live we live to the lord and if we die without of the lord to whether we live or die we belong to the lord for this reason christ died in return to live so that he might be the lord of both the dead in the living. But i just thought about that verse. 'cause i thought really. What binds us together. And what's may. I think us tight to this day was our focus on the lower. Despite all the difficulties and material possessions and even ones that dab before they should have and ones that have miraculously stayed alive than we expected zachariah and when an used to send us a birthday card the all the nephews every year to have a little five dollar bill or something and that made such a difference because we never had any money and so i mean..

They they came up with incoming incoming so that reminded me jason. When we first joined calvert we were playing now number one. It used to be number seven in kind of a hidden little helier back then. If you plan from the back and there it looked like the people had gone so we all start hitting our drives down there and we we when we come over the hill. There's four guys standing there. One of them is one of the owners of the club. We had just joined the glove. And they're all looking back at us and one guy's hopping around holding his backside and it turns out that i hit him right in the rupp. So you've had people to. Oh yeah with my driver and and it was the owner of the club. His i feel better now. We were so embarrassed. You know so. Yeah that it's hard enough to to two people to jump around he. He made a couple of names that weren't really kept him in the bible and zach almost killed his lap so yes i actually hit two people with golf balls and then i was ready i lived lived on. The golf course is on the eighteenth green which had a pawn there. It was late at night. And i don't think you're supposed to do this but i said let's go down there and get all those golf balls out of the expensive so me and my brother-in-law been we go down. We're rakim out. I hear somebody come in this room so we started running and i grabbed the rake. I hit him. In tooth and shipped is shipped is to all. This happened in that three months fan. And i was just like what maybe that you're gay. That's what started from playing god to stealing goth in their lives. Were the water in the water in front of my house. And who's going to get these are just sitting out. A stealing is is That's just grand theft worthy football softball ball. I don't know what the material is us. But if it if it sinks. That's pretty dense. That's that's a pretty dance ball you play. Well let's just put it this way if you're baptized in the one tries to steal your soul. Is it stealing. That's that's a stretch questions. Who owns the golf ball wants. It enters the course goes they go out and get those balls and resell them now. You'll have to work that orc. That out if that's ethical because it was your ball that went in there. But usually the course now. I was getting other. I was getting them. The other people's yeah. But i just met another rules. I didn't know that i lived right. There was almost like technically. I made it almost going to be like meyer. There's a statute of limitations here because this has been about fifteen years on if you put a mar if you marked your ball and you went into the pond and i and retrieve your ball. I think you'd be fine but if you get other people's well they would not like it because they make money and i think you'd i think you'd be fine but you could probably work out a deal. They'd probably bomb from you at a cheaper rate because they still got to go in there and get them the downloads as be all sanctimonious because he's done here. We live on their share night raids. I didn't say. I just laid it all out. Like your sanctimony. Greatest night of my life. I had a tow sack full of bullfrogs and golf balls that i had taken from the same location pretty good. Somebody's video as one of our listeners. But unfortunately the so. I couldn't see what he was talking about but he he said. I finally found somebody that loves frogs as much as me and my dad jase and he was sending me video of them on a program but it was too dark could see anything. I'll i do. I think i realized that when. I think i've told the story before but i mean i was leaving the church building with my family the entire family. We're in the middle of town. I mean now. "Looking at me. Josh up machine off. I'm like howdy. And this one guy he said jas has like yup. he's like well. We thought that was you. And i was like yeah. Who who else would look like this. And they said now. We saw it on social media. I was like oh yeah okay. But he said he said. I just wanted to come over and ask you to tell me about. Jesus thought now. This is the kind of interact. He was seeking another kinda treasure. Well right sam. And so. I time that samuel over there all he wanted to we have a guest show. Fresh out of the river by intel showed up early so so i started with the metal detecting with the league. Fifteen something. I've done before on why. Jesus was interacting with tax collectors and centers and he tells the three stories. And what since i was metal attacked and i made the spiritual parallel god looking for that. Was kind of my. He asked about jesus. So that's what. That's what i went with but i thought you know this is. This is good. I like for for people to to walk up in and want to know. Jesus of course he listened to the podcast But i said well what about your life. He's like well. I went to high school football player. You know went through all that. And he said and basically. I went to college and it was just two years on the party scene. That's what he called it. The party saying i said well we're that get you. He said standing on a beach asking. Jeez what just happened. I out of college okay. So that was the. That was the most positive thing i saw. So so jason we. We play golf four days in a row. We did to podcasts. From the golf course zooming in with you dad. And by the way the folks that peninsula were great and grave host who treated us great and So we're playing golf with a young bucks. We're playing with cohen. Read and and jeff pico. I didn't know you were going to bring this up. But i'm glad you did because there was a moment on day. Four are you had it on day. Three the i started our young bucks now in. They're in their twenty early twenties and they're in their shape where they could just run through a wall in fact the first day after we played eighteen. They said y'all wanna play another man you know and i said absolutely not which we used to be like them say you know. Let's let's buy some artists by more but but what you get into my injury. Yeah well i was just going to say jay's we started out decent the first day or two but then the injuries began to mouth. I heard elbow. But i started coming on back tomorrow. Itself in round two and three. You didn't notice all. And i beat everybody on light round three and i thought you know what i still got. Come back up. And i laid it in the bed at night thinking you know i thought it was over but i think i'm back all this is under the guise of on. Yeah so we get there then the fourth day into turn out to be our last day and so we decided to switch up teens. We'd actually been very competitive all week and cole was playing really good and so we call it. You get you leave it up to the golf gods who the teams are gonna be though all the balls up wherever they land. That's whose own eight so wound up in reading coal the young bucks against me jase and jeb who are now the old men and so we were like. Oh we can take these. I mean i actually thought it wasn't fair. Because i thought his three auntie experience and i'd been playing also the day before they had been. They showed flashes of greatness but to too immature to try to overpower the gall source. I thought now we're so competitive juices begin to kick in. But we and jay's both were wearing down as the round went on they were coming on strong we're down five at the turn down five at the turn and so then i thought you know my back's against the wall. I've got to make a move. And i think i was all like whole twelve and i swung my driver and just a pain all the way down to my ankles from bag and my al was i was. I'd done and i was too and then jealous bled terrible so we just limped in. They want all the money. Just throttled as we did. Eat actually shot like seventy four. I thought what happened. But when scores one hundred ally the seventy four. I they just outlaid us. Even if we'd been doing our best lead us winter dogs. Yeah so we so we left. They're saying this is no country for old man. That's that's how we let we let the whole thing was old. Age is creeping and even.

It's great for them to promise three years of security updates. I want to see this happen. Because we've been burnt in the past by lots of companies promising. Lots of security updates but that never materializing. Yeah and in this case. I'm pointing my finger at a company called into kia. Who recently have been really dropping the ball on the security in operating system. Updates if you're gonna make the promise stick to the promise. The problem is by that point. The promises just become accepted people like oh. They said the thing great. Hey good job thank you. "And it's like even there. It's like the three stories. I heard somebody say one time you know the first illustration of the sheep going straight one. It was a one percent then the woman with the coins so it was an pretend yell. Is dan present and then when it got to the two sides so it was fifty percent which is like or maybe a hundred on the because really the other brother had some struggles state. I mean nice illustrates. I've never. I've never thought of that before. That's pretty creative. Every game that. I don't know i heard that somewhere popped into my brain but i don't wanna take credit for it but i thought it was an an interesting way to look at but my here's my point going back to romans. One guide seemingly contribute contributing to this. 'cause i got some letter saying that. They're like well. How come you're saying. God's contributing to the person falling further and matt didn't respond. But i was like i didn't think of that i read it. You work that out with romans one. Furthermore he gave him over what not out to be does like we read this scripture. I had no interpretation whatsoever. I think i had no comment. All god has to do is not do anything for you to go into that well point. Is you see where. I'm going with dean when the sign came to his father. And hey gimme my shake. Give me a gift which you think about. What's god's grace is. The gospel is not a gift. Son in late fifteen. Said i won't i won't mustache. Which is a bad business plan when your plan is to just give me. What what that's your at your plan. What what did the father do. In that moment. he let him go. And i think it relates to romans one at because at that point. Are you going to convince him. We've all had our moments. Were rebellious tina and onion day I mean you gotta until they figured out and which is the purpose when we're getting into why the law is here and why god allows this for us to go down. That will what do you. What did the sign. What did he arrive at goes out now. It was fun for a while. And all of a sudden winds up in a pig pan and you would think at that point. Hit say nope he he stays in the pig pen long enough to where what the pigs are eating even though they were probably maggot he is now gotten past. The smell gotten past status. Lost everything he had and is now literally living like a pig. And it started with the o. Josie wheel i mean i. The money ran out. The news ran out. Then the friends ran out then. The food ran out. So what's happening. the father. Let him go so he would. And then there's a phrase in there. Because i mean it's really about how god's grace the father was waiting on him but there's one race which is used exactly in romans one. He goes to all those list of sands and then it has four attitude qualities. It says won miss senseless. They are senseless heartless ruthless here list. Here's this son in the pig. And you remember the phrase that says came to winnie came to his senses and then he starts talking about. I'm not even. He showed humility because he's like i'm no longer worthy to be called a some we'll god's wrath his father's wrath which was not a rat that was based on love. He just let him go because he knew the only way he's going to figure this out as Is that sand is gonna put you in a pig. Pay our kind of yeah and so he now trying to get people to have that. Come to sense moment. Sometimes you just have to allow painfully for to you just hope. They don't die in the process for their well. Toby pray for your pray for the his safety but at the same time pray that he finds no peace and joy in this life but just like almonds. I think this is what. I'm on preach ben you know. Well i just hit me about this lease the well because romans for me says the same thing but it's more confusing. I have to read it over and over and over again. But i really like fifteen. I'm like okay. Let the kid leave all good time party right spending money. I got lots of friends and then ball famine pig. I mean this is like this summed up pretty much half of country music singers in the movies about them so it always is the rise to the top then of all and then in the second half of that story and actually the parable is really aimed at the older brother in the story because when the young got a little huffy about young rather comes to us is it comes home in. The father accepts him then. he's like the policeman. We talked about it because he's not wait a minute. I'm here slaving away doing the as you don't even give me goat here i am. I'm trying. I'm i'm not in the patriot aspen dome when that's happening. This is the birthplace of country music. He's out there saying on a song about the pig pen in a sales because there's the back and was now you know where there was a celebration and the older brother wouldn't go in and celebrate the return because he was mad about it because he thought that's not that's not right and then it just ends in. It's really interesting. Because that lou fifteen starts out with people complaining about jesus eating with tax collectors. It's a good thing. Now that jase willie and jep along with miss kay and your mother and may it's a good thing that we all had open arms. When you finally turned into no gay about enough. I came to my senses ten and it was very much similar to the to the prodigal son because i realized i was in his brothers held guest. I think that's the hard part is trying to figure out how to as now you know we're on the other side of this thing. How do you get people to come to their senses. Because really that's the key phrase in in in romans to me that that senseless yet and based on luke fifteen he just because at what point would you say that this is not working i to me you would have thought it would have been before we've entered a pig pen to make a living or maybe thought well it'd be fun. I like baking whatever but now you're eating forget the very they're eating and i see a man coming my way with a crowbar in his hand. And when you look at it from roman six is that he said i'm no longer worthy to be a son which was the right attitude emmy. He's now realized that he cannot do it. He's done but then he said i'll just be a slave when you enrollment six uses the same terminology your slave to san and you know all for yourselves as slaves of righteousness but the beauty of it is. That's your attitude. But god makes you a son. That's i guess while we were talking about the difference in their culture because what he was saying was i'll go back and i'll just work for you. I won't be your son. I'll be a hired hand. I will stay in the house. I'll live out where the people that work for you. Basically get me out of where. I won't be where i was in the in. The father says oh no no no no. That's not the way it works you your son in fact here. Let me give you this road. The sandals the ring you know and the fattened calf. Yeah now so i say in my speech. That that night that i came on we had the fat and catfish had a celebration because lawson return and but that's the it so much as about how we embrace other people so that not only what i get for me when we're jet had a great line when we all as had had a deal with him a meeting of the minds when jeff said okay. I've had enough Jeb said what took you so long there was. He was wondering where where we. That's why people miss grace though because you think well. This is what all went wrong. He shouldn't gave him that original gift or then when he combat what he do games more gifts as right. What change the guys attitude. That's right it wasn't the gift that was the problem. Does it was the heart. I wanna mention that. I've mentioned four on here. But i'm mentioned again if you go to. I am second dot com or dot. Org.

"So let's get this German Mercedes stuff You have position player on the mound was a 47 MPH pitch. Game's a blowout. And on a three Oh, pitchy swings any parts it into center field. No problem with it. Now last. Do you think I know Tony LaRussa wasn't a manager last year, but you think he would learn even telling the rest of us are leading to learn from people Because of his Hall of Fame status. You would think he would learn from how Jase Danglard was ripped. Basically telling her name that that piece he was wrong for hitting a Grand slam in a similar situation. J. Singler was trying tow protect his buddy Cris Rivers, the manager for the other team. I don't know why he was doing that's little note to this day turned, the Rooster says he gave the take sign between your members. Sadie's crush that home run Just by the time the guys told me the pitch I ran. Took several steps from the dugout onto the field yelling, Take Take Take It's just the way he was set up. I looked to me like he was going to swing and the old times round the bases. I'm out there. None. No, that was upset because that's not a time to swing three and old. And you know what happened? Look over there and No, the twins knew that was upset. So if I got that, right trace it sounds as if he didn't give the sign right away to take. He just thought that you remember status was going to take it when he thought he was about to swing he gives the signer yells out. Take take take from the dugout. Come on. Would be one thing if you gave the sign way in advance. If it's that late, Give me a break at anyway. They're going to put a position player. The mound. It's a blouse. Let you guys swing. Who cares if it's three? I don't give a rat's ass about these unwritten rules. Who cares about the other team's feelings. One of the Rooster says. Now that you're a Mercedes will be punished for swinging at three

Overcoming Evil With the Help of Jesus

"What the world doesn't get that. We get on a daily basis. And i mean we as in in jesus is we get the highlights from sharon. Jesus you know sure we get the highlights of evil in the world on every newscast but when some evil person who has done. Incredible amounts of harm comes to jesus or they don't report that have you ever seen on the news. They're like breaking like we shared. Couple podcasts about one of these Leaders of a gang and mexico cartel come into jesus. Why didn't see that on the news. You ever hear that. But that's a highlight there that i'm light. That's yes because that's our our mission. Whenever i see something bad happen. And we've all if you looked at our bottom five bobble studies with evil people that we've all had we have encountered just rawl evil and re looked at them right in the eyes. So here i am. I'm not thinking about this guy may go into play shoot somebody but in the back of my mind it would shock me because this guy is evil or female. Whoever it was. But i thought. I got a moment right here. Through the grace of god introduce jesus to change this heart not only to save his soul and let him be a representative kinda like a guy named saul but also to make the world a safer place.

Why Do We Do Good and What is the Role of the Holy Spirit?

"An argument has developed over I. Think we. and. You can't be good on the low and you can't be good. Jesus. Either you're saying this both ways can't be exactly Jesus didn't have any effect like, Hey, you character agree one hundred percent wrong. Here. I'll give you four words just for the audience. And this this to me is how you learn. Because we both agree that Jesus. is where salvation occurs right? That's correct. So we're good and we love each other. So everybody were all family. We're all touchy feely today. However. The wording. Is We Zach Anna are on one side and you're on the other I have four words. Four words. To. As. The foundation of my argument and it comes from a letter written to the glacier and who thought. In Synopsis Form here. How will I say this who thought that? They needed salvation in Jesus plus. something. that. They could do. Now, in this case, it was circumcision, but to me, it can be anything. And that was a statement made and I'm getting to the forward. In Gullit relations to twenty. Paul said. I have been. Crucified. With Christ. And here are the forward right after an and. I. No longer. Live. So my point is. You can't do good. If you no longer live. How can that be? Because the next phrase. But Christ lives in me. So that's my whole point. You can't say you so well, how come in I John? On those who do good. Well I'm not sure it is but I'm saying. How can you do good if you no longer live. I John says there's two kinds of people those who do good and those do evil will do good. Why can't do it? So, I Realized that it's no longer I who do it? Where's that verse at? Christ lives in me. The Life I. Live in the body I live by faith and son of God. Who loved me where's that verse that says that it's it's I who no longer had the crucified Christ. Increased by I no longer live. That's a different verse. Maybe Colossians three. Let me say. Maybe. It's Romans. Romans. Romans seven says eighteen to. Yeah. This is this is another one. No seventeen seven seventeen as it is it is no longer on myself who do it, but it has since living I know that nothing good lives in me this Paul with Jesus. Yeah. Right, that is immoral sinful nature for I have the desire. To do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do but the evil I do. I do not want to do this I keep on doing. Well, this is this is post. Jesus. So, why why is he wrassling sale? He's going to ask you a question who's going to deliver me from this body of death because he just trying to you once Jesus comes in you say, can you start doing good then sure. But he had but he's in, he's in Jesus I I think that what? He's actually getting semantics well off because he's moving into Romans eight Romans eight is live by the spirit, which is where we get into this conversation last time on. John Fifteen and I think there is a this is a I had a hard time with this up until about twelve years ago because what I kept hearing was do better and be better. At tried it and I tried it and I tried to be yet I thought like Paul that fills here. I felt what a wretched. Man. Am I and every time I tried to do good evil was right there and it's Just I. Felt It. I felt like I couldn't bootstrap myself up and I and I. It's because we grew up in a faith tradition that really didn't have a good doctrine of the Holy Spirit. We didn't talk about the Holy Spirit Yeah. We really if we did it was what will retold he speaks through the written word only what about the inner conviction in my heart that the spirit is my counselor, my helper who's guiding me into all truth. So going back to the do good. I I. Think the Scripture tells us to do our behavior matters but the only way it's less about behavior it's less about works and it's more about what are you desire? What are you want? because. You're going to do what you want most and I think what the spirit is giving us those who submit to the spirit, the spirit as giving us a revelation of the beauty and the wonder of God so that over time my desires can be transformed. You talked about Phil when you are. You back in your sex drugs and rock and roll days like there was a time period. You know 'cause I interviewed you for project work on and when I heard some of the things you're into us man, there was a time period if I came up to you with a with a big fat joint or a scantily clad woman or a bottle. Of Whisky, you would have been tempted to partake in that but if I came to you now that's my point. But now you would not be tempted because the desires of your heart have been transformed over the last forty five years by the spirit because he's revealing to us reality and what it is not right and wrong it's not despair it's not saying. Your neighbors you do An elder must love good. he's got a desire to the older women to teach what is good get the young man set them an example by doing what is good but who is a? Saving you. It's not the already say you're not earning it. It's a free gift. So how do you operate? Well he purified him speak for himself a people who are he's very own and you know what they're eager to do. He. People what is his own and guess what they're eager to do on the PA do good.
