"Also also say was what are we talking about or are we talking about here. I was like well someone so finally. After i wasn't any reason that i hadn't washed better call saul as usual. Never call upon a person to explain why they don't do something. That's possibly the oddest thing in the world. And if you thought about it you'd never ask. Why however new done that. Well point is. I flipped it on and holy crap. It's really it's as good as everybody says. In better debt levels of death i had not expected As is so often the case for something that becomes a hit in the household. I watched the first episode three times in two days. Because i watched it by myself. I washed my lady friend and the two of us how far how far into it are you Second episode season two. Oh good okay. good. I mean i. I know having started a week ago. I should be further in. We also watched the merman show On netflix in the murder man. Show richard well. I don't want to say anything about it. We go listen seriously seriously. Stop washing the magic man. Show with the robot in the wall and go put down your phone. Don't do anything. Put a helmet on top of your helmet and go watch the night. Stalker now. rushed nice talker. One nine also gonna say was that I mean from the get go. The scene at the cinnabon. Oh my god and she show it. Has its cleats deep deep deep in the turf from the first second this show knows what it is it probably obviously. It must benefit from having a rich was named vince. Mtm team have a rich well of knowing his character from breaking bad. But i do this more than i should. But i would put that first episode up in the. I would raise that jersey to the rafters. It's up there with you. Know maybe what the wirewood some other great ones sopranos. Like one of those one of those kinds of shows where you're like this you show knew exactly what it was from the very beginning but then again i agree with you. Also though all a peaky blinders crap just look at the first season of parks and rec First season of the office to in perhaps slightly unique things that they both involve mike sure but also that both of them had a very precarious early life and They had to really retool. The main characters on both shows to great effect second season third season. Like wow could there be much better than that even the you know look at the simpsons the run four five and six like unbelievably good shows. It never sucked but it would didn't become the thing we love and remember quite so fondly or more. Salient didn't tip to being the thing that everybody loved right. Seinfeld was kind of seinfeld from the beginning. Yes slight seinfeld. Chronicle's pretty long way from where we ended up that say soup nazi and i think the jason alexander at least credits that with the perhaps apocryphal story of realizing one day. He'd been doing george as woody allen when he should be doing george as larry david. Because is larry really into that. He's got shrinkage. But i agree with you but you know it is. It's pretty wild. Something not really show. But someone enjoyed tim goodman used to say like well. It's it's not the seventies eighties nineties anymore. We don't you don't get you don't get you know six eight thirty episodes for people to decide whether they're into your show. It's for better or for worse for good or bad. That's where we are. There's so much extremely good stuff. I mean i probably anybody. That's extremely online into media. As i am any given night. It's just a question of which one of these six tv shows. I've been mean to watch for five years do that. I know i will love. Can i switch to right now. And you know. I mean that wouldn't embarrassment of riches but i think that does create a lot of pressure is four hundred. Tv shows happening. It's you don't really get the onboarding as you say the one did a different time time really twelve minutes is that was that really twelve minutes. Yeah tell long we've We spent what about elevator buttons. Because i've heard it said that there's not really hooked up to anything while the one of the floors are the ones for the floors are otherwise he'd know is going to be. It's going to be one of those mandela affect things. Blame you if you're a different one. If if you hit the button for the floor you want to go to that. One works but the ones to make the door shut. Don't work okay now but also like the one of some other ones do except when they do really more's the pity Did but the the the gonna hit this button to bring the elevator to me. I think those kind of those do work won't place. Because i realized to the today even setting aside the The chabad elevator type situation title. I know that certain times and under certain kinds of demand. There's a lot more automation going on like that you can you can you. Can you can go back and see die hard. There's all kinds of stuff you can do with the elevators and automation which is a great jeff jarvis service e book. Yes but you know but the But there are times a day for example if your check out time. The hotel is eleven. Am there's gonna be a lot of elevators being used. It's my understanding that it like. It's ten forty five. Am at the hotel that elevators going to do a whole lot of going from start anywhere lobby. Good a top floor and then just keep coming down down. No no no no no. There's not going to be a lot of up and down a couple of floors and the resources are going to be shifted. Much like ally note if you like. Is that You're go or or lena lino because it is lena's this tour faults You know what rhymes with what bore vaults anyway Yeah you gotta keep up in. A lot is happening right now. My cleats are in the turf. You know what i'm saying And so i think there's that we're some other ones crosswalks. I need to have a huge number crosswalks. Probably in your neighborhood but crosswalks often wonders exactly how that's working out because you're dealing with all the different systems. There's the agreements and red lights of this arterial. In on the perpendicular you got the greenland some red lights this arterial and just because somebody has decided that they want across the street across the street doesn't mean we're going to stop traffic for five minutes right. You know what. I mean You have to factor all of that. Dan is there anything in your life. It's not hooked up to anything. I felt nothing sucked up to anything else. Yeah it's all disconnected from ripped out all the wires you're saying yet. What was the thing. a rat. king fills iraq king. so maybe it's all maybe it's too connected. It's overly connected to connected to go. It's like a wiring harness on him the mclaren of theseus dan. Would you please tell you about something. You like to tell about head space. Oh head space. I know that. I got plenty of here right right here on my second. My second hulu magic show helmet. It's cow is actually just talking to good one just talking to somebody earlier today about meditation and you know they. The i know a lot of people that do yoga and there are a lot of connections between yoga meditation. And i even heard. And i don't know if this is true so we're going to have to have the jackass fact checkers out there tune in and and really ferret out tease apart the truth here but i heard that yoga developed out of meditation because meditators were trying to find ways to involve their bodies as well as their minds in in what they were doing and that actually led to the practice of yoga. So i don't know if that's true or not but it would be pretty cool to think that people who were you know the the kind of grew. They grew up together in way. But i've been meditating. His you know merlin for maybe fifteen years and there have been a number of times where i've fallen off the cushion and it can be very challenging to stick with this kind of habit because it's some. It's so easy not to do it so easy. Not there's i have every awkwardly easy to just not do. It is so easy to say. Well go to do this other thing here. I don't have time today or not to go to the grocery store often enough. You're not going to have food to eat. But like if you don't sit on a pillow for ten minutes like you can probably get on with your day. In some cases easier. You need an infrastructure. You need a scaffolding..

"Would never look to another team during a game? Especially that we're losing and say come get me with a worse record than we have like you know so Michael. Or whoever the source was is is all about clicks now and I get it but at it ended a day like. Don't try to slander my name or you know. If you didn't hear me say directly you shouldn't have to report about it. But he would do it if they had a better record record the opposing team. That's a good that was followed that was demanded there. If we were real hard hitting journalist someone would've asked him But if it were the patriot. Where's the line saints? Would you do with the same biking the hawks of course cowboys. Yeah UH didn't Didn't Chub and Jarvis Lynch had best in the League credentials this year in terms of statistics at running back Landry just got done with the best year of his career. Statistically at least in part I have to imagine it's not like I've been breaking down game tape but I got to imagine that the reason. Oh del Beckham has been turned into a nothing wide receiver. Statistically in Cleveland is because of the attention is so focused on him that it allows Jarvis Landry to new allows Baker Mayfield to always be throwing Jarvis Landry because it's the better place to throw because I don't know why I can't do this for you like I don't know while watching who's being bracketed. When are they playing? You know deep zone where Odell Beckham to get down the field. I have to assume that Jarvis Landry just had what is statistically what are the numbers on him statistically he has seventy four catches a thousand eighteen yards. Thirteen point eight yards per reception. which is big for Jarvis Service? Landry usually under ten and five touchdown. Okay so it's got two games ago here. So when he was with the dolphins though the the catch is the number of catches was better. But I'm going to assume that this big play Jarvis landry thirteen yards a catch that that only exists because Odell Beckham is being double teamed. But why is that offense. Still bad like someone explained to me. Why the Cleveland browns offense is an offense that isn't special with a special running back and a special number one receiver who's been turned into a number two by defenses? I'm assuming assuming and Jarvis Landry putting up that season I mean my gas when you when you say it like that is the offense of line turnovers and maybe Baker Mayfield. Just not that good or as good as we thought he was going to be. It's confounding it really is a bit confounding. I just want to know what it is that you would do if you were Jarvis Service Landry because even that denial he denies it he denies that flatly. And you guys end up being in a place where you're saying. Well he would have gone to a better team like they're just content intend to at all times and their frustrations don't matter to US anyway. Well with o'dowd body of work but he's been good this year. He's been terrible on the field. This is his first controversy. I'm alone and bold radio announcer. "What is the point of hiring someone if you're not going to let them do their job but the reason they're in this situation they are now is because he hired John John Dorsey a guy that couldn't figure it out in Kansas City when ever since he's been gone it and it was working when he was there like what the hell happened? There John on can't manage people can't manage the salary cap. Your Eagles too big you a little bit of a control freak. So of course. Jimmy has them hires them and because of the Sashi Brown debacle Michael. And that's exactly what it was. He voted up on. All these picks anyone can trade back down and acquire picks he passed on Carson Wentz. He passed onto Shawn John Watson. He kept passing on good players. So I I'm tired of hearing Sashi Brown was ever going to turn them around. He had proven that he can't evaluate town now. John Dorsey has proven that he can. But he's staked his career on Baker Mayfield so when you draft number one one overall all the chips and your entire franchise especially. It's a quarterback or in the middle of the table on that player. They had the biggest decision in recent memory they needed. A coach. Had A number one overall quarterback they had Jarvis Service Landry the traded for they were going to trade for Odell Beckham clearly on their mind. I know they traded for Beckham after Freddie already named the coach but clearly the wheels in the thought process were already in motion for John. Dorsey you would think you would go after you know a big swing right a legitimate coach. Whether that was held Mike McCarthy had just been fired by the Green Bay packers like they had worked together in Green Bay before he needed a guy that knew what he was doing. I don't know an adult in the room room someone who had at minimum been a coordinator before because you can do let Freddie. Kitchens had never been a coordinator until Hugh Jackson Todd. Haley got fire last year. So what does he do. He hires Freddie Kitchens. What has happened more losing? Of course they're losing. I like Baker. Mayfield coming out Oklahoma. I don't really like them now and I used to disagree with Colin Coward My Colin I. He's a better player than you're giving them credit for and I don't think the maturity is that big of a deal calling dead on was debt. I mean it's it's been his best take probably ever. Has He ever nailed a stronger. Take legitimately the majority of people even like Collins biggest fans. I kind of disagreed. He was dead on well..

"Today. We'll bring you a story from Sadie. Who found a great reward award at the end of a long road dealing with infertility after two years trying to conceive she and her husband received a life changing call that made them parents overnight? sadie story of perseverance has really inspired me. And I hope it does the same for you. Me and my husband actually met online on this online dating website right. I had just moved to Houston three or four months prior so I was just kind of dabbling trying to meet friends stuff like that. Just because I was new to the city so we matched on there and it was like. Oh I'm glad swiped right wasn't on tinder but it was a match. The two were deeply in love. It wanted to start having having kids as soon as possible from the very beginning like my husband and I always talked about having kids and everything like that. You know. That's what you do. You follow them. Oh you get married. You have kids best routine in October of two thousand seventeen. I got my birth control taken out because I had heard that it takes a few months for a woman's his body to get back to normal after birth control and I have been on birth control consecutively for four years so I was trying to just get ready for after the wedding so that that we could start trying like right away. I got the birth control taken out in October and then every month from them. We're just kinda trying you know tracking that kind of thing. I had went to like my doctor to get them to run different tests. Lab work stuff like that just to see like if everything was okay and as far as data tell everything was normal they just kept saying like. Oh maybe you're not getting pregnant because of your weight. So they encouraged me to you know work out stuff like that and I've always has been super active like I was an athlete in high school and Middle School. That kind of thing. I've just always been on the larger side so that was mainly the thing that they were telling me was like. Oh if you lose lose weight you'll get pregnant right away. CD had a choice to make for me. It was like I have family history of diabetes and things like that and it's always been super important to me not to pass that kind of thing onto my kids and I mean even if I didn't they didn't have it like you know like it's still a possibility but I wanted to just do everything I could to be healthy enough to raise kids. Keep up with my kids that kind of thing so I mean. I had tried everything I was going to the gym regularly. I was eating right and I just just wasn't losing as much weight and it wasn't. It's not really the wait for me because I embraced by positively and everything like that but it was more of. I'm not getting pregnant and it's because of my weight so I was trying to do everything that could so when I found out that my health insurance covered the surgery than I was on it right away like from the very beginning so in February of Twenty nineteen. I had gastric bypass surgery. which is weight loss surgery where they remove about seventy five percent of your stomach so that way you physically can't eat as much as you used to so? I had that surgery in February of Twenty nineteen and within the first month I had already lost like thirty pounds. Wants and I'm down a total of eighty right now oozing. An excessive amount of weight can change a person's fertility. But when you have a weight loss surgery like CD did doctors. I will say to wait a year to a year and a half before trying to conceive but CD didn't WanNa wait. She wanted to get pregnant but even with her surgery. It just just wasn't happening they call it a peo- a s added which is a pianist. Stick addict because like you get so obsessed with wanting to to get pregnant that you are literally taking a test every day like oh my cycles lake. Maybe I'm pregnant but everybody knows that it could be it. Could be a number of things and and then like when you're trying to get pregnant because you know when you ovulate you can start testing like twelve days after ovulation which is way before your miss period so so I was like obsessed in like taking tests regularly like I was taking tests with me to work so I could take a test at work in every time like I would take her tests it was negative and there was at one point where I had swore Assad line on the test and me and my husband like we're like okay. We're GONNA get excited because we don't know if this is real and then the second. We started getting excited was Maasai cocaine and I had went to the emergency room and everything and they were like. Oh it looks like you had an early miscarriage. was that kind of thing. But they wouldn't really say like if I was pregnant or not because they hadn't been able to test me for pregnancy at the beginning so it was like we ended up grieving miscarriage that we ended up finding out later on that I wasn't actually pregnant. So it's like you have line is like you WanNa see a positive line on a test so bad that you stare at it and you stare they are added until you see the line more with Sadie after a quick break. Love Dash Promise I'm calling Balfe. Welcome back to love. Love what matters city went back to her. Obgyn who referred her to till it specialists. They ran tests on me and found out that like I was fine in completely an an they test on my husband and found out that we actually had male factor infertility. That's not something that we talk about a lot just because it's kind of personal. Oh but they told us basically like our options were to either adopt or do IVF and like the cost of IBM. It's like eighteen thousand plus each cycle. So it's like a huge expense and you don't know if you're actually going to get pregnant once we found out like that was our option. Oh the cost is way too expensive for. IVF cost is way too expensive for adoption. Maybe we're just meant to be godparents like we have two daughters and I was like well. Maybe that's we're supposed to do may were supposed to be ants to our nieces and I've always been really go. Kids time with my husband. Maybe we were literally just put on this earth to help other people take care of their kids and we just gave up. I mean it was hard but at the same time it was like a stress reliever because we had been spending so much time being obsessed with trying to get pregnant trying to get pregnant traffic pregnant that it was just taken a toll on us as individuals. It's not so much as on our relationship but just us individuals like me not feeling worthy him. Not Feeling worthy like. Why is this happening for me? So it was becoming like a thing where our whole lives were revolved around date so we were just like you know what I think is just time we take a step back in whenever something supposed to work out for us than it'll happen whenever we least least expected. It was late Wednesday night. CDs Family was preparing to go on a four day cruise to Mexico. But CD wasn't joining both she. And Jarvis Service had just started. New Jobs couldn't get off work but CDS. Little sister had forgotten her life jacket and see what the drop it off. That's when Zaid's best friend friend texted her she said Hey. Would you ever be interested in fostering or adopting a baby and I was like well. Yeah of course but the the cost for that is so expensive I was like. I don't know how anybody could actually afford that like. I'm twenty three. I don't have fifty thousand dollars just sitting around for Friday right so I just told her like yeah would but. I don't think that it's a realistic situation. And she kind of just told me like hey will I may have some. I may know of a couple. Oh that's looking to place baby up for foster care or for adoption in. I told them that I thought that you would be fit. And I was like okay and it was Kinda just I kind of blew it off because I was like. There's no way in heck that this is just GonNa fall out. The Sky. CD Jarvis discussed the idea of fostering the child and agreed we do it. They were worried about getting attached but at the end of the day they wanted to help a child in need so then we told them yeah. We'll foster the baby. Then the next they called back and said the birth parents have decided that they want you guys to adopt the baby instead and we were like what and I'm at work like literally in training in this class where I'm supposed to be learning computer systems and things so I'm sitting there and I get this phone call and I walk out into the hallway and I'm standing on the third floor. Where like all the like? CEO's and stuff are and I'm standing there in this social worker is telling me like they want you to adopt the baby. They have made it. Click to me. was she say you need to spend the weekend and start getting stuff together and I was like what do you mean she was like. You need a car seat. And why a car seat are you serious yesterday or the day before yesterday. I didn't even know anything about a baby after for almost two years of trying to have a baby. seedy Jarvis were finally being offered the chance to be parents. He was already a week and a half old At this point so he had already been born. It wasn't like we had a lot of time to prepare like most people when they adopt they find out while the birth parents are still pregnant but we found out way after after the fact it just happened so fast and it just came totally out the blue so I was in the hallway at work on the floor like literally I had slid down the wall and I was sitting sitting on the floor. Like sprawled out. Basically on the phone with the caseworker and then I had to hang up with her and called my husband and try to explain to him. And I'm like I wish I would have just called you on three way because I don't even I feel like I'm missing stuff. I don't know if I'm giving you all the information. It was just very overwhelming keeper world. Walking past me looking at me like I was crazy for sitting on a hospital floor and I was. It's just like there's some crazy stuff going on this phone. It was exciting. I was trying not to get too excited. Just because I didn't know they were going to change their minds or if it was even real but the birth parents didn't change their mind that next Tuesday. CDN Jarvis signed the paperwork at ten am directly after they went to go meet their son and for the very first time his name was Ezra more with Sadie after a quick break. The Subaru Love Promises. "In your league and it's the most entertaining show and out there because you listening all the time and we want you to enjoy your life We played fantasy football to have fun. So we do this show and have fun just by also. Winning is fun despite what you may have thought about fantasy football yesterday. Yeah well it's good. It's good to be back America. I have come back to life. I hi no longer hate everyone. Everything I have moved on Bass Philip rivers I did a healthy Baxter punt him off the bridge situation on my roster and I'm I'm super excited for this show is to sleep recovery. It was needed to reboot needed to sleeps and I'm back. It was so bad that I thought there's a chance you would rebrand one of our two bathrooms here in the studio bad pictures in the mail. Okay all right because right. Now it's IT Jeff Fisher which I can't imagine he loo. It was the last time it happened. It was Greg Olsen. Yeah he did me wrong and I did him wrong. You really did very vindictive with my losses and fantasy all all right. Let's get in to buy or sell sell presented by Pristine auction all right week eleven last week we did. AFC West addition. We did all right. I I suppose Keenan Allen he did top seventy yards Damian Williams one hundred total yards kind of unfair but also didn't seem like he was on his way but You guys both. He would've got there Sir Sir but I win and then Derek Carr top ten quarterback. He didn't get it was the QB twelve yeah yeah he was a QB twelve. which I believe I said he'd be top twelve top ten it although I did lose this week and on the back of the Philip Lindsay call all is the way that I see it. I was super happy that I bought Philip Lindsay because of his utilization. What finally happened this week with the Denver Broncos but the sixteen carries he's but the match up was too tough against the Minnesota Vikings? Yeah Darren Waller five catches what do you do now. What do you do at Dera Waller? I can't imagine not playing. But he's just he did. He had five receptions he had he was back to having a a solid game. That's fair he did drop a touchdown so I mean that sucks but he had had that opportunity where the play was exactly for him. It was executed perfectly except for the part. It always comes down to the details like like that Mike. Well with the fins fins flippers or they fins fins are osiander flippers. Like a the fish. Yes yeah yeah you know what I mean yeah all right. That's why shady fumbles all the time. Well yeah the slippery fish. I haven't said that nickname in a long time because he hasn't been very slippery. been a sticky fish water. All right bye sell for week twelve. Let's start with Calvin Ridley here. Is he going to finish as a top twelve wide receiver against Tampa Bay Week. Eleven last week was the first top twelve finish for him since week to finish as the wide receiver. Eight last week. Tampa is the juiciest of all match ups for white outs. I have to buy this Prequel Prequel to tomorrow show. Yeah I love Calvin Ridley this week. I do think the line is too high here. I'm going to sell similar to Derek Carr last week where I do like them but I I just don't think he cracks a top twelve. He'll be a great play though. Do you want to shoot your shot and say top fourteen but not twelve. I'M GONNA say top eighteen but not all right yeah. I'm going to sell as well just because the line is tough but and you're right that the matchup is about as juicy as comes on looking at the stream finder here though shocking. Talking to me you know who the second juiciest Mansur booze for for fantasy wide receivers the Minnesota Vikings. They've been so good to run fallen apart. Heart but Xavier Rhodes has been terrible. And there's only been a handful of times. He shadowed this year and those have been really bad for them. Those are like groundhog shadows. Yeah sometimes you see him. Sometimes you don't mess all right. I'm with you Marvin Jones. Tin Fantasy points against Washington. Marvin Jones has since week six six. Here's this fantasy finishes seventy third. I sixty fifth fifth twenty-ninth and now eighth. You are leaning on Driscoll skull which all on paper Arvin is not the worst thing to do. Washington is one of the best teams to stream quarterback against to the point. Where you you look at Driss going? You wonder if you could recommend him this week. But I want my by selling the hands of old driscoll. I mean even on his down weeks here when he was the water super twenty nine against Chicago he was still over this line. Only stay straight weeks of doing that. Yeah so what do you got what do you got. I'm going to buy Ah In for those if you are not fully paying attention. Marvin Jones currently outscoring Kenny. Golladay and a half point. Pr Scoring format a the surprising but yet just I'm just here stating the FACS. Yeah I will I will go and sell it. I'm going to sell Marvin Jones. Ten fantasy AC- points. I believe that you can run and pass against Washington they slow the total play countdown. If they can run against against them they will. It's the trick who's going to run the yeah. Bow Scarborough F- Now I'm going to sell it and I finished just below. I will sell it as well. Jarvis Harvest Landry Landry the touchdown the touchdown streak. Does it. Continue Against Miami. He scored a touchdown in Greece. Straight game revenge. Inge is a revenge game. But I'm going to buy this. I keep now. There's a complete narrative narrative here where it's like okay. There's the targets are still going to Odell Beckham like he's leading. You know you look at the last few games. He's getting more targets in Jarvis's services still producing for fantasy. The narrative is this week with a bad pass. Rush A poor secondary. They're going to actually be able to connect on those targets. And it's going to be an Auto Beckham game. I'm going to wait till I see that before. I say that Jarvis isn't the better fantasy producer. And so I'M GONNA say drives gets another touchdown. This week I think Baker is a great play stream of the week yesterday and he's his number one wide receiver. It's GonNa get another touchdown. Yeah Jarvis Landry is getting a monster target sure. Sure so I know they're both I'm going to buy it. I'M GONNA sell all right. Just because the odds of a touchdown come the games in a row Miami. Though it'd be nice matchup is all right. Curtis Samuel Willie received seven point five targets against New Orleans in do we care freaking Kyle. Keilan DJ Moore's liking it say more target share is way up there. He's at thirty percent over the last six weeks. Believe it or not by Curtis Samuel Not in there so I'll go ahead and sell. It occurred the the what's setting is the match up this past week. Now I know. The the Atlanta Falcons had a revolutionary meeting. Apparently with during the bye week because their entire team has has changed their defense looks incredible. They're sacking the quarterback like five times a week. The past couple of weeks again. They were averaging point nine. There's more than they were not before. But Curtis Samuel in that match of come through four for twenty five against the Falcons. I will the line here. Seven and a half targets unless sell it. I will sell as well while. I want to be. contrarian there's only been three games this year where he has been at eight or more targets despite the average being seven point eight because he's had a couple of monster. You know thirteen eleven targets. I think he ends up about seven. Hopkins is the target share lead over the last six weeks thirty five percent Beckham Twenty Seven Jarvis Twenty six. So they're both getting a their fair. Share seems like the Landry ones are probably higher probability targets targets so he's ending up the fancy play. This is a really really tough on L.. Is I wanted to get my answer out. I okay and loudly. Don't in the question I didn't want you to think I was following a it was gonna be Mike Right as a top ten analyst in fantasy. Sell Michael Gallup. Seventy five receiving yards against New England. We gotTA move this line. The lines battle eight. I have already sold. It's going to be three south. Don't just be via copycat patriots right now. I I'm afraid to play any wide receiver against them. My Michael Gallup forty five yards doc by forty five yards Michael Fifty fifty five yard got. It's gotta be the new line fifty five fifty five yards because that's a that's a good line to make you have to stop and think fifty five receiving I will sell it I will. I will all right. How do and we go tiebreaker? Forty yards I will buy forty yards So forty five. You said you would buy forty five forty five forty five forty five forty two forty four forty yard for the man with glasses. What are you I'm fifty oh all right so the line so said the low forty five sell Sell aren't that you could be. Okay See oh by forty the moral all of this story guys if we want to really drill it down or the people that were expecting Michael Gallup to receive between forty and fifty yards maximum in this game making a very look. It's hard to sit him. And not if Amari Cooper out how do you make that decision to sit him you think. Hey whoa boy boy gala bonded that stall no I you play. Are you playing Gallup. If Cooper's gone no I depends on options of course but preferably not it. It's in New England. Oh Oh no. It's just a very that being said. You know that Gertz had a very fine game. I mean being the number one target. Last week he had nine catches. You had a nice fantasy day still a very different player. Gallup has been fantastic and a DNA level. My I totally different. I think any size yes the season. He's been great. It's it's really just a matter of do you believe that deck and the cowboys can get it done against this great offense if you think they can get it done and you brought up Zac. Gertz people do score fantasy points. It's not like you can't start. Michael Gallup but Gilmore. I mean you say yeah. Well if Cooper's out is that actually good that actually galleons word. The New England patriots are famous for taking away. The number one option. That would leave Gallup as that number one option. It's almost like who has a better game here. Michael Gallup Randall COBB I. I don't know I'm tempted to say. Just because he's the third option on the team and they'll be like let's make Cobb beat us all right. Well he's look. Is it tough situation deciding. What upside you really have those players and that's what it comes down to? I'm not worried about him. Having a target share I'm worried about him having production so in the fifty five receiving yards not doesn't get me excited all right that was by herself from Pristine Auction. You can buy or sell. I can't use cell yes you can sell right you care. Yeah they do both both but we normally go buy some autographed sports memorabilia. But if you have some laying around I'm sure can all right pristine auction. Dot Com use the code ballers Talk News. News and notes from around. The League presented vice sleeper. "Can see what is going on right now bro. Oh I wasn't. He want came downstairs right. Somebody has given Jarvis. And here's what are you doing right. Now what are you. You're doing job firing to Muffin. Killing people know not so good at this video. Okay because actually throw all these guys know band van here. He got banned as expected he would operate so what happens. Next is epic was like Oh no no no no I know we saw the video. Were GonNa ban you you real life you for life from playing the game and participating in any tournament your Don. This gives a professional player. He's you know I mean you know. He's a professional players like any APP. Professional National Athlete cut that level dedication training here he is crying as everybody Enjoyed teary-eyed Maria. All of us to go to any other events nine million four nine community. Dan's laughing just like the amount of de Blasio. I think these are real tears. This is going to prevent me from going to any other events ends or any T.'s. And especially the Dan Crash Bill Gates as far as dance so so much. I'm still gonNA love this hard. Who you know? I'm still going to love this game. No no matter what happens. I wish I could have known how badly I was missing because I would never have been making those kind of video you get you know for him. It's more than just not be able to play the game he's like I can't go to tournaments and see you guys. I can't play with friends. I mean it's his whole life is whole life revolves around this game Phase Jarvis and and he got banned for life so my my initial reaction to this was that it seemed like over. Maybe an over reaction by epic. Because when I like I said when I first heard about the story I thought he was like competing and pretending ending he. He didn't have bought on which is acting like he was that good. If that was the case then I say yet band that guy for life but he was making a one off video just showing what Aamodt pro. He's in a pro team phase. Get an article today. Just this referred to him as entertainer and Clinton Creator. Well the extreme boomer boomer terminology. I mean he's in and phase which was a professional gaming team. So that's why I say that. Obviously I don't know but he participates in tournaments and stuff so when I realized it was just a one off video. CEO then I I did. I felt bad for the kid I mean they could have suspended him for like six months a year but the lifelong band seems. I mean I understand where they're coming from because you want to deter. They said they stress in a statement. They have zero tolerance policy for the use of cheating. Software the pro players were teaming where Jarvis was modifying the game itself also what sheeting eastport is damaging in Boston similar game hacks sour the game for many more people. I totally agree with them. I mean there's really nothing worse than cheaters in this game but The fact that he wasn't hiding it the fact that he was kind of showing showcasing a video. Think they just didn't think it through just a stupid thing and he's seventeen music kid. I could see myself doing the same thing at that age. Just trying to make it entertaining video. I'm not thinking of like the the far reaching consequence of it and they I mean look I get where they're coming from with the lifelong ban. I fucking hate cheaters. In these kinds of games aims I despise it. I just wonder why not like a year or something that could you serve your time and then you have another chance while. Dan Disagreed with me. Dan Dan Strongly disagree with me on this point. Well I mean mostly it's that this is their policy of how they treat cheaters. And if they were where to go lenient on him I mean just because just because he's a streamer like they get special treatment and I mean I'm I'm sure that would cause a huge backlash in the other direction. You know what I mean. Like if they went lenient on him but most so what I said it has most people can just go make another account or make another Ip address or play over You know a VPN or something. But so because he's famous they are able to ban him right and so he can't go determines you can't play the game anymore. He cannot play the game right. I mean well theoretically. They would want to do that to anybody. Anybody who's cheating the game. They don't have the ability to but in his because he was dumb and advertised. It tried you know monetize it and turned added into content him breaking the rules. It made him an easy target for them. I think if you think about another example to you know because if they had gone leaned on him Or only band you know his one accounting notice other one that would essentially be advertising. That you can get away with doing this like just go cowboy. And that's why I was suggesting something like a year. Ben That would have sent the same message. I feel like a year ban that have been there policy than sure but again. If if that's the rule is that if you use they're trying to deter people from doing it use the software you get permanently banned from the game if they don't do that to him then he's kind of getting special treatment. I don't know that. Yeah I mean it takes a lot to get banned from other professional sports. Even Mike Mike Tyson was able to boxy and wasn't after he bit he vendors Holyfield's ear off is soccer. For example. I mean what do you have to do to get banned a an for life. I guess maybe drug use I mean if you doping. I think you do get banned for life from you know bedding. I know betting can get you banned for life life like in there there is. Instances has dubbing you banned for life. I know there was a huge doping scandal baseball. Where all those guys banned for life? I don't even think so Barry Bonds they didn't ban him but he is the all-time highest homerun record. So there's an asterix next to it. He yeah well that's not. Yeah but he got to keep playing. I'm sure he got suspended. Yeah but that's the thing I mean. It's it's it's an interesting problem as we know has this professional Video Gaming e sports becomes more and more popular there. I don't know I mean he could have been one of the great players and now he's banned for life. I guess maybe be just seems so severe like so harsh for life. I'm sure I mean it is a good deterrent. I get where they're coming from but I do feel bad for him. I do. I see that yesterday it seems like Ninja agrees with you. He's he's come out. Oh interesting so that he should be banned for life because again it's like if he was trying to compete with that in secret when I would say fan that that motherfucker different but he wasn't he wasn't hiding it he was just doing something dumb. You know so I say Free Jarvis. Hi this free. Phase Jarvis. Did he take phase out of his name was he kicked out a face. Not that I've seen those guys don't have the morals. They don't care they give them a second phase face face Jarvis Free Jarvis Service. I say give him I say give him a one month ban. I say. Give them a three-month ban and let the kid play. Ah let him play the game. You remember that Rudy were the football player. He was like dumb little shit and and he couldn't play football but he just wanted to play. Then at the end. Everybody because Rudy Rudy. What I'm talking about you guys do that with me? Jarvis Jarvis your this Jarvis jar no damn champion for Jarvis. Sorry damn down was coming down hard on Jarvis driving down. Are you softened up. Since I last spoke I mean I feel a little bit of sympathy but I haven't changed my mind. You think he should be banned for life. Yeah yea fuck cheaters dude like fuck that could ruin the game for other people like think about the other people that are the receiving end of that. Yeah annoying shitty that. I agree that it should be punished but I the severity of I guess maybe leave it at but the thing is a year ban it might as well be permanent. Been in the house games and every he's also then one year he's only seven ten ban for one year but he was dancing is the game having to be popular near and he's he's so great. It's like a lifelong ban. I say three months. I think that's what I saw. Ninja said three or six months. Free Jarvis that's what I'm saying next up tick tock is is a Chinese data farm story rules because everyone's on super-popular Tick Tock was bought by Beijing owned bite fight dance technology in a one billion dollar acquisition of US Social Media Apps Now US lawmakers have been calling hauling in recent weeks for national security probe into tick tock concerned that Chinese companies may be censoring politically sensitive content raising questions about how it stores personal data. uh-huh isn't that awesome the ten owned by China and I don't trust to China was shit you know they're crazy. If a Chinese government in our company owns something like this you know. The government is looking at the data if they want to. They don't have an option. It's it's like pure tyranny over there. It's like tyranny plus like tyranny with a little extra bill. How finding like is it? If at the end of everything to talk that would affect the election to bring us down and now facebook again I just saw you know that was a big press. Release about how every intelligence agency like ten of 'EM. I'm all made a joint announcement saying that are upcoming. Election is going to be attempted to be persuaded by like Iran China China Russia and for us to be vigilant and be aware and all I could think of meanwhile was Mark Zuckerberg mainly Time to get paid aide baby. Recently he went in front of Congress. And he's like I'm. I don't think I should ban political as the election coming up. Are you kidding me. Maybe after the election after we make a billion dollars in our new president is Vladimir Putin Vladimir Putin is winning. All fifty states.

"Your the host deacon. Kevin andrews thinks join me again today. We're kind of got an extended show today. Taken it from a half hour out all the way to an hour because today they is the final show of crosswalk here in the burger radio network. <hes> says i've taken my new role except that my new role my new appointment by bishop rica to be the chancellor of the diocese of gaylard mitch's to time of the day is is short in in trying to get all the things done and in really to follow god's call and to be the best most effective for for the church and for building the kingdom through prayer sermon decided that <hes> it's the time is now to to step away from the microphone in from the you know hosting the radio show although i did mentioned earlier that i will continue on still as chairman of the board for radio because catholic ethic radio so near and dear to my heart and so important here for your for your growth and we do what we do just for you so that you you've got the faith in the knowledge spirituality to live out your faith accordingly the way that god wants you to so my next guest comes to us from episode one seventeen and our first year talking about mothers in christ actually my beautiful wife stephanie who is a big part of my vocation as a deacon. All the things is that i do <hes> i only can do because of <hes> how wonderful she is in the support that she is in everything that she gives me <hes> in helping with the kids and the family and the business all of those things but we're not here to talk about me. We're here to find out what stephanie's been up to <hes> both with mothers in christ in a few other things that are going on that she's been working on since we talked to her a couple of years ago so stephanie welcome to the crosswalk. Thank you for inviting me back. Deacon kevin some others in christ so maybe just the listener a little bit of a refresher on what mothers in christ is and what the year looks like <hes> this assure coming for the group mothers in christ's is entering. I believe it's twenty first year. In traverse city we <hes> our group of roman catholic flick women dedicated to marry and living our lives in raising our families in the catholic faith. I am no longer on the board as i was a couple years years ago when we came on but i'm happy to be here to promote their fall lineup and some of the changes that they're making the fall semester kicks off on september. Ninth was a welcome back brunch. The board did an awesome job with the speakers for the fall including father jarvis. <hes> zyppah graham was a mother's in christ favourite eric mulvaney anterior mike buell or among some of the speakers they will have in the fall. <hes> martyrs increases also starting something new this year they they will have childcare starting from eight thirty in the morning until eleven the made the eight thirty change so that moms can come right after school drop off in go up into into the church for a time of prayer at eight forty five. They're gonna pray. The liturgy of the hours together led by one of the board members. There's no need to have a liturgies of the hours. Book mothers and christ will provide anything you need in the handout and this will actually begin with a separate timber sixteenth meeting with father jarvis in father. Jarvis service will be leading the prayers before the meeting actually begins you can find the full fall schedule and the mothers and christ facebook page or by going to their a website w._w._w. Dot mothers and christ dot com mothers in crisis for moms of all ages. I encourage moms new to the area to join us to meet women who love their faith and are actively raising their families in the catholic faith and i i would say <hes> that mothers in christ here in the traverse city area really the model for <hes> all of our mothers throughout the diocese. I know <hes> bishop hubka when he was here archbishop hebdo when when he was here's our bishop and bishop rica geico is well. I can share their sentiment that <hes> they are very <hes>. They're very excited about the mothers in christ group they respect everything that they do and know that that that is a model that it would be great <hes> for groups of moms to come together to support one another in their faith in in all of the struggles that it is to be maybe maybe have a the mother with young children or or maybe there's mothers that have been through the childbearing years and have lots of wisdom that they can share with other young mothers and how to raise their kids in the faith thin instill keep spiritual life in the business of everything that having kids <hes> brings brings to life so <hes> outside of mothers in christ's <hes> <hes> stephanie. There's something new that we started. The people are familiar with the fact that i'm involved with absolute catholic group in absolute catholic <hes> has put on i believe ninth <hes> our our ninth men's conference this past year <hes> catholic men's conference here in traverse city but a couple of years ago we actually <hes> had a few women stepped forward and said you know they really wanted to have a catholic women's conference as well and so <hes> a couple years ago absolu- catholic did launch its first <hes> catholic catholic women's conference in which euro part of and so maybe give the listener the date of of this <hes> next year's upcoming conference and the speaker and some of the details sure i'd love to the twenty twenty catholic women's conference has a new venue this year the conference will be held on january eighteenth twenty twenty at immaculate conception church and elementary school in traverse city. We are excited to welcome kimberly hahn as a follow up to her husband. Dr scott hon who spoke spoke at the men's conference last march. We will also hear talk from father jarvis as well the theme this year will be follow me based on the daily gospel will readings from the gospel of mark for january eighteenth so ladies mark your calendars for the two thousand twenty catholic women's conference and look for more details and registration to be coming out this fall yeah again just such a wonderful thing again a new venue this year moving from christ the king to immaculate conception church and if you haven't been to traverse city to see the new conception elementary school the lunch will be in the cafeteria of the new school and so kind of of a way to incorporate a little bit of a tour into the new school to see how beautiful it is just such a not only a cornerstone of the catholic faith faith community here in traverse city but really a cornerstone <hes> for whole diocese on what the good things that the catholic community is doing here in northern michigan so again the the date of the conference january eighteenth twenty twenty yeah so be on the lookout for emails in and you're looking you're bulletins and your church and facebook <hes> all kinds of <hes> good details when registration opens up <hes> be sure to register <hes> it's been growing in every year last year was a record year. I know for attendance and in just a great way to come together and fellowship and solidarity with your sisters in christ to do that at the catholic women's conference coming up in january next year but then also again you know people ask me. How do all the things that i do. Sometimes i wonder how you do all the things that you do and you're just as active as i am and <hes> helping to to grow our faith in into bring attention to certain matters. There's something that you launched here. <hes> just about a year ago in the diocese agadir detroit in well then trevor city specifically but give the listener a little bit of details on what that new initiative is sure we launched a chapter of life runners here in traverse city after hearing some women from the gaylard life runners chapter speak at mothers and christ and life runners is a the largest largest pro-life running team in the world they have chapters and many countries and every state in the united states and basically it's a running group that brings attention to life issues and and an end to abortion the motto is all in christ for pro-life in we can run in events. You don't have to be a runner you can and just weird the blue shirts that <hes> you know promote life and we've had several people ran in the bayshore half marathon ten k the five k. wearing their shirts and then we also had a large group in the cherry festival five k. and they have a team event in the team so our life partners team took second place <hes> we also have a very active runner jamie hollandsworth in she wins won several races the summer <hes> five k races wearing the life runner shirt and it's just great <hes> you know promotion of the cause to end abortion but the best part about wearing the shirts at the races out in about is just hearing people as they walk by tell you how much they liked your shirt so that definitely means people are aware and are recognizing <hes> what what are causes <hes> another cool thing that the trevor see saint francis cross country team is wearing their shirts is every wednesday on their runs around town in the students for life at trevor's de saint francis are looking at starting their own student chapter so it is starting to grow even even more here in the traverse city area. We don't have any events on the calendar but we need to get back to <hes> hosting monthly events for us all together and be a witness s. for life altogether. Yeah i think <hes> just with any parents with kids with <hes> the summer and how wonderful it is to live here northern michigan in the summer in bacteria that you can take for some most of us if you're like us are waiting for the beginning of school to get back to that routine and once we get the kids back in school and get on a normal routine. It is much easier than to to get these events plan but it's such a it's such a wonderful witness. <hes> i have a shirt. I tried to be a runner <hes>. I i can confess that i am not much of a runner <hes> myself but if i go out mountain biking i i'll wear my shirt <hes> and it is just a great public witness to who <hes> to to pro-life message to pray for the unborn <hes> a patrick castle actually the the founder of life runners was actually on the show as well and <hes> this this ministry that he started is absolutely taken off in grown exponentially not only throughout the country but throughout the whole world old in so the more we can do to bring attention to the pro-life message. Just let people know that we are pro-life because <hes> in the media it is hard to get our message out there sometimes and so this is just a public way to let people know that you know where you stand on the on the on the message of the dignity of life and that's the pro-life message so stephanie i wanna thank you for not only coming on the show but publicly thank you for all that you do for me and for the family forever -cation it really is a team effort a family effort and so i love you and thank you and thank you for the wonderful example you set for our kids in our family and for others than how to lead people to christ in live your faith and not just talk about amen to that. I'm taking kevin. Thanks for tuning into the crosswalk here today on the burger radio network if you just tuned in this a special show today it's an hour long show because this is the final show <hes> for me here on the crosswalk as.
"jarvis service" Discussed on All About Android
"If you want to <hes> have talking over the announcement letting you know what we think. This is leading into tomorrow's this week in google and we were talking about this before the show started. You know with it being the night before the event. We're not really going to dive deep into the league but <hes> nicole. I think you summed up this recently very well right. What did you call it. The most completely could ever seen incredibly complete. We basically know incredibly -pletely yeah and it goes back. We were talking about this couple of weeks ago. Where and we've been enjoying google's anti leak approach with the with with the pixel for the upcoming picks four. Which is you know name a phone that hasn't been leaked before the announcement that we have as much information national this is. I don't know if we've had a completely yet or not <hes> but it's getting the when the stuff leaks out so early and so completely these events are getting a little ridiculous so i'd like i'd like to see them trying to get a little magic and a little surprise back into these presentations someday yeah well you do a google is doing which is just like yeah. That's right into months in advance lean into into a. I don't know what that means for the event when they finally habit but that remains to be seen. I still think there's going to be a surprise in that one. I think they're leaning into it and misdirecting but anyway speaking of google moving away from phones and over to europe every action gets equal and opposite reaction right on wall so if you remember correctly the e._u. Fine google five billion dollars in response to this ruling on antitrust violations last year and it required google to stop forcing users to use chrome and google search on android devices by offering them a choice well so google took that they took it on the chin there they need to do business is in europe and so now google's announced that early twenty twenty a new search provider choice screen will appear during new phone set up for european users which gives them choice. That's awesome. <hes> google also revealed that it plans to select the search engines by way of a sealed bid auction in different markets meaning the top three bidders in a given market will be presented in the choice screen green and ordered at random so google is going to be charging the other search engines to bid on the option to be on the screen and google believes this is a fair solution as allow search providers to determine the value to them being placed on that screen and this is just if someone hasn't mocked up the little android guy giving europe the finger <music> yet <hes> this is pretty much you say okay you wanna. You wanna find us five billion dollars. We're gonna make it back by executing on what you're making us. Do <hes> which i think is this is the way you know. This is the genus of google and that they look at things in a different direction and twist it just a way to be able to make money so we'll see how this is actually rolls out but like if duck duck go wants to be the search engine of choice in belgium they're gonna be able to bid on that placement on that choice screen <hes> <hes> so it will be curious to see whether you know oh being and what other search engines or even out there. I don't even know don't give me three options is google bing want kosheh yahu to excite lycos task jarvis service <hes> yeah interesting right like it was like okay so if we have this we might as well make a lot out of money off of it and they're doing it on a per market basis which makes sense because certain surgeons only appealed certain markets but that also makes sense from a monetary standpoint because in each of those markets google can hold on its own bidding war essentially and make money and all those different markets off of who ends up in the in the in the thank you. I don't know that this necessarily goes against the e._u. Rules though right like google has to protect its own interests in this as well and this is their business but i don't know maybe it does. It did make quickly now. I was just going to say i. I think that this is going to end up backfiring them. In a lot of markets. I've been spending a lotta the time in germany <hes> over the past few months and one of the things that surprised me the most about when i would kind of like peek over someone shoulder to like <hes> they would google google something and i would always be surprised that they were not using google browser to the google search engine to do it. Actually in in a in the german market anyway as people are very loyal to a lot of other engines based around privacy and not sharing information so like. I think that this in germany specifically might actually backfire against them because there's already quite a lot of anti google sentiment going on over there so i think it could be interesting anyways. This little like you know they can dig at the humane actually backfire in some markets so probably right. I'm looking. I'm looking at global stats stat counter which is his g. S. dot stat counter dot com and actually victor. I'll.
"jarvis service" Discussed on Science Rules! with Bill Nye
"L. we talk about machines being able to perceive and understand the world to make decisions about how to act to pursue goals to carry them out in a physical complex world and the do so as part of a team so so think about this notion of perception alright jarvis right arm so jarvis when tony's in the suit suit is is a perception agent for him right so he's got sensors jarvis a sensors these interpreting all that we're talking about tony stark and the and the ironman movies sir those coming aren't man comic books or the comic books crying out to jarvis is sort of seeing the world in ways that tony can't jarvis services connected to the internet and all the knowledge you know the sum of human knowledge and he's interpreting all that to help tony in that in that situation that tony finds himself so jarvis is perceiving and understanding the world so in order to pursue goals on our behalf machines have to be able to see and understand perceive and understand the world so now that you've got some understanding of of the world right. You have to actually be able to decide on what to do about those goals right. How do i change the world in some way to make them more consistent with my goal so we call this decision making right now. I like to talk about the complexity of this. If you think about <hes> there's a scene in infinity war when doctor strange. We're moving on this marvel thing right yeah yeah. There's a scene in infinity war when doctor strange's sorta hovering in the air and his head sort of moving around and then he says to tony i looked at fourteen million different possibilities and we went in one right so this notion of decision making is about predicting how actions will play out in the future to be able to use your intelligence to pursue those goals but you know what my you know. He says fourteen million in my response to that was that's it only fourteen. I mean if you look at the game of go for example really complex game they talk about. There's more pathways through the game as you and i make choices as opposing players in there are atoms in the observable universe really big number you too is for effect right but i mean i think it'd be ten to a much greater exponent perceived aside and then you got act so now. Let's talk about vision. Vision asian is a sort of robot <hes> he's the embodiment of jarvis exhorted creates a sort of robot and what i what i'm always fascinated by when we look at robots in our popular culture sure they just navigate the world with ease. You know whether it's whether it's jarvis as vision or <hes> whether it's bay max in big hero six you know there's seen in big hero zero six where they max inflates in the bedroom and he's as big lumbering thing and here's these tiny narrow passageways and he sort of scooting through that that's actually really difficult for robots. <hes> robots aren't really there yet. If there was a couple of years ago when darpa robotics challenge and there's a really awesome bloopers video from that challenge <hes> <hes> online so darpa defense <hes> applied research we live in advanced research projects defense advanced advanced research projects agency there we go at work see i get fired if i don't know how to if you're getting to one of my biggest questions about a which is one day i read an i taught self to play go and became the greatest go player in the world and then the next day i see this robot with a i manage to stand and take a step and everybody's say wow this is such an advanced so why is we have these programs that can play go can play chess and they can play jeopardy and they can defeat the greatest human mind but they can't like walk around through a kitchen yeah. That's interesting so that's i think there's a lot about our human human intelligence that we take for granted. This is actually a really difficult challenge. <hes> i have to have in order to navigate the world a model of myself in my geometry on your in your your brain in my brain medical mar- yeah this big my arm can reach this for us so there's a key they call kinetic model which is kind of geometry of myself my body <hes> there's a dynamic model where if i sort of actuate my joints.

"Any normal Friday program. Welcome back. I'm Jim Rome. One of the reasons for that. My next guest a third baseman for the Houston Astros a World Series champion, the twenty eighteen all star game MVP lead the majors with fifty one doubles last season you to eighty six. Yeah. Thirty one home runs one hundred and three RBI last year. He was the second pick overall in two thousand fifteen out of LSU. The Astros are a Tampa seven ten pm eastern time. We joined by Alex bregman, Alex. It is great to have you on. How're you doing? Great. Thank you for having me on dude. So good to have you back or is he opened up the season with a win over the raise five to one. Let me start right there. How good did it feel just to be out there playing games that matter once again? Oh my God. I felt amazing. We play we Palo thirty some odd games in spring training. And you play you played five or six innings and get your feet underneath you. When you finally get out there play by younger Cy Young runner up. Opening opening day feels pretty good to get a win under your belt. Glad you mentioned that I was gonna say you guys knocked around Blake snow pretty well. With three home runs and five earned runs in six innings. He said afterwards quote were in the MLB every team is really good. But the Astros are above really good and quote. So what's it mean to hear that from the reigning Cy Young award winner? Does it feel like that's the kind of statement that you guys were looking to make? For sure for sure we I think we I think we take a lot of pride in our in our lineup. And I think our our offense one through nine and even the guys the guys that are starting to the guys on the bench are really tough out. And that's one thing that this team is really built on which is being tough out being great great at bats. And it's it's fun to be a part of an offense like that. And I think we got off to a good start yesterday. Alex bregman joining us, you also mentioned Cy Young visa young which brings me to Justin Verlander, there is this amazing profile on you and Sports Illustrated, which I want to get into in a moment. But as part of that story for Orlando was talking to you last season. And he asks you a one point how much you sleep every single night. What was your answer? And what did you learn from him that day? Well, I asked them I asked him how much he slept because I because I really didn't take that much pride in my sleep. I I'd probably slept only. Seven hours a day. But I always thought when I was growing up at if you sleep you're getting worse at baseball. I. I like, you know, what I gotta wake up early. I gotta get after Berliner says told me he like, no you need to sleep actually been proven like a lot of a lot of the best athletes in the world sleep a lot because they need to recover. So I started sleeping more. And it's it's paid paid dividends. Alex bregman joining us, that's a great anecdote actually because also on that profile. You got AJ Hinch. He makes the point that you had this hit off kenley Jansen obviously in the postseason. It was so big because you visualize it beforehand. So let me ask you this. How much of everything that you're doing in your career right now is something you already visualized? In other words, are you at all surprised if you where you are right now? I think I think you have to visualize everything I think you have to I think you have to put it in your head that you're going to do. And then go out and do it. I think. Yeah. Like like AJ said about that about against Jansen in the postseason. It was it was something that I had Rancho ran through my head. A thousand times before it happened. And I think the I think that the visualization is key especially the game of baseball. And I think yeah, you have to set goals and you have to go knock a mile apart. We're talking bregman. Look, this is not something you just kind of came to this goes all the way back even when you were growing up you and your dad had a saying and that saying was t t f you toughen the bleep up. What's the mantra mean to you? And what's it like when your dad used to say that to you? Yeah. Well, he he would he would always say whenever like I started off my bigly career over seventeen TTF. Puffing up. Let's go. Back in their gets a working and get after it. You'll be fine. Maybe era in the college World Series. So lose the game gotta semi team home from all. Set a lot of last year after we lost to the Red Sox like propping up it's time to get back in the weight room back in the gym back in the back in the cage and did after it. And I think it's a good little mindset. Those four letters always clicked me back to like me back into the in the working hard to me. I was actually something because I mean, I've got a couple of sons myself, and I kind of go back and forth. My wife where she's like gimme a break. Let let up let up good morning like look nobody wants to do this. But trust me, they'll be better for it. I mean, do you. Remember, the very first time your dad hit you with do you? Remember, how old you were for the first time you heard that? I must've been I must've been twelve years old when I was when I was playing travel ball somewhere. I must've been real young. And he's like, hey up kid like this is life. And baseball's a game of life. It's a game a failure. So you're going to have you're going to get bogged down and you need to get back up so often. Yeah. He was telling me that at the very very young age. And I'm glad he did a love it you toughen the bleep up. Now, the other thing that's really clear, and this piece is great. You want to help market baseball. You want to help make baseball as marketable as some other major sports like the NFL and NBA. There are a lot of things you could be focused on and obviously you're most mostly focused on your team on your game. But why is marketing the sport and growing the sports on important to you? Well, first and foremost, I think all my focuses on winning shirt for my team. And then when when we're in we're not playing games or we're not working at the game. We have we have three hours a day five hours a day that we're not doing anything that. If if if we wanna if we want to be as popular as NDA is the NFL and baseball to be fun again. And we want to let the kids play like MLB Moebius saying we need a market market. Our players. Have players that might try to be as big as LeBron James. And it's not his fault. He's he's killing it. He's he's doing everything he can on the field. He's probably the best player ever play the game. So I think I think if we if we do that if we do it correctly he can be as big as as big as anybody Astros third baseman. Alex bregman is my guest the question, of course, is how do you do that? For instance, what's the biggest obstacle to what you're talking about. I mean, do some of the traditions and the code of the game, you know, like not celebrating home runs too much or things like that. Does that hold the game back in that regard? Oh, no. I think I I don't know. I don't know. I think I think the biggest obstacle is that players in baseball we one hundred and sixty two games. So the NBA has a lot of off-days NFL plays once a week. So they have time to get out and do things like that baseball a little bit tighter schedule. Now, if players want to do it they're gonna have to put him to work to do it. And it's really not that much. But. I mean, I just think that's the biggest obstacle. And that's what keeps baseball players from going out and being marketable. We're talking Alex bregman grind. It's a long long year with this not law downtime. But there is some now you've paid attention to athletes in other sports in what they do in terms of generating attention and buzz outside of their sport. And on social media, for instance, where some of the guys you watched and what have you taken from them? I mean, I think. Unbelievable job. I think juju Smith Schuster unbelievable job. Odell Beckham who was my next door neighbor in college is unbelievable job. And just just kind of sitting back watching how they how they went about it. I think baseball I think baseball players can do the same thing. And I think there's there's so many stars in our game. Whether it's Aaron judge or Lynn door, Mookie Betts or Kris Bryant. There's so many guys that are are marketable their their their an, and we don't we don't wear we don't wear man. We don't wear of football mass so football helmet. So I mean, our our faces are. Chevy more recognizable. But then you have. Maybe three guys with the national TV commercial, Mike trout. You other guys Dell. Dell Beckham states everywhere. So they're doing something. Right. So I think we need to pay attention to Alex bregman joining us at so great you live next door to Odell out. Ask him the same question about you. If you're on right now. But man, that's wild. What was that? Like, what was it like living next door to him? What was he like back then? Call us a hard worker man him Jarvis services service was one of my best friends from some LSU, and I actually got to spend time with Jarvis. Down in Miami during spring training this year del than high forever. But those who were in those who were in the in the football indoor LSU catching passes. Just working weight room there. They work they work there. They work their tail off. And and I'm and I'm happy for both of them. And that they've been so successful. They also had a lot of fun doing it. They they they smile and laugh and dance because they're saying. It was fun to watch. Ornette was there as well. Same same kinda guy. Ben Simmons same kind guy. So it was it was a fun group of on group of guys that are doing well now Alex bregman joining me for a few more moments. I'm a huge Jarvis guy this big Jarvis house. I understand you're an LSU guy. Alex your big sports fan. What about the Browns? What do you think about what you see from them? So far. How do you think they'll do this year? Oh, I think if anyone's playing Madden football, they're gonna wanna watch the they're gonna wanna play with the Browns. I mean, I know I know I am I wanna I wanna play his Baker Mayfield and have Odell Jarvis Y. So I think I honestly think it's actually been a big debate our club, also farthest good. I honestly think Brown's a decent shot of gone pretty far this year. What's the debate in the clubhouse? How does that conversation breakdown? Jake, Jake, MREs McCann I'd say the Super Bowl and everybody else saying that we're crazy. It's crazy at all. I've seen them making a run we're talking to Alex bregman. Let me ask you this. I mean, again, I mean you have these different interests. And you want grow the sport. But the thing is the thing, right? You're all about success for the team at one point. You ask Brian McCann about being a leader? And what it took to be a really good leader. What inspired that conversation in? What was your takeaway from it? Growing up. I always wanted. I always wanted to be a leader on every team that I've been on. And I saw how how Brian and Carlos BELTRAN transformed cla both. And I asked them kinda wh what it took. And Ryan told me that I needed to be able to communicate with every single player on the team. And know, what makes them tick? No what I can tell them get the best out of them..
