"Wire to defeat brooklyn by fifteen points last night. Kevin durant scored thirty two for brooklyn but it took him thirty shots to get it. Chris middleton and janta compo- were much better they combined for sixty eight points and twenty seven rebounds and they shot twenty-three for thirty six wilpon does milwaukee's performance lead you to believe they can go to brooklyn and win game seven they can. Yes tony and you outlined all the important numbers all of them. And then there's one that's even more important it's zero number of three pointers jacked up by answers compo- none he didn't do it. He kept his big strong quick fast. Talented self in the space where he should be. Don't eat what you. I've been screaming for even the previous series. He kept himself near the basket and did his work there and stop jacking up those shots now. We know they can do it will they. I mean that's the first smart gamed. The bucks have played in. This series should have won the series already. If they had taken the same tact particularly with onto the kupu. But i do. I have faith that they will go with that same recipe. I don't know that. I have that faith. What about you. okay. So yes i agree with you that they can win right and one of the ways they could win as if pj tucker was able to do to kevin durant again in game seven what he did in game six. Because tucker was plus thirty and durant was minus seven but mike game six was not critical for brooklyn. They had a game to play with because the critical game for them was game five and they want it so for every home team has won. You have to tell me why that's going to change now. I look back on game five. And i see kevin durant scoring forty nine points. He's a great great player. I somehow have faith that if it's up to him to win game seven at home. He's going to win it. There's no like logical argument against that. There just isn't last night. I'm sitting with steven a. And i acknowledge how dumb it is to pick milwaukee even at home and i know you're going home road i'm looking at just sorta teams play and kendrick perkins at each one of said. We're gonna do the dumb thing here. And pick milwaukee and part because they're healthy. Tony kyri irving we've just been told is not going to clean seven. He's not going to you. Got no kyrie. Look i think hard and could be moving toward the twenty point area where he looks more like james harden need couple of flashes of that last night. Don't know that that's possible. But man i still a milwaukee tone is still on how they go about doing what they do. And whether they're gonna have sensibly or start jackets will you let me go to the threes for a second there averaging and let me get the number correct twenty eight percent in this series from three losing the regular season mike average thirty nine percent which is wonderful if they have a hot night from three they can win The big three for brooklyn if they play together nobody beats them including the walkie but they don't play together one guy never played. Yeah yeah at least one never plays tone brad. Stevens made his first major movie. Head coach of the celtics stevenson kimball walker and the teams number sixteen overall picked the thunder for our horford and moses brown. So stevens dump some salary while getting back a player. He coached for three years and thunder. Boss sam presi now has eighteen first round picks tony and eighteen seconds over the next seven years. So what's more intriguing to you. What stevens is doing or what prestige is doing. I'm going to say stevens. I'm going to remind people of your little small mistake. It wasn't his first big move. As coach. It was his first. Big move is as gm rob. So what. I find intriguing is. He coached kemba walker for two years. He's in the job for an hour and a half and the first thing he does is get rid of kemba walker and he brings in al horford a guy who walked out on him personally never virtually. Yeah a couple of years ago. And then was nothing in philadelphia and was nothing in oklahoma city. Though in oklahoma city they were trying to tank so he didn't get that much opportunity. All of this tells me two things. One it tells me that. Brad stevens thought so little of kemba walker as a player that he shipped them out immediately even before a new coach came in. Who might lobby brad. Stevens to kp. Don't wanna cam at all. And the second thing taught me because they're now going to need to get a lead guard trade free agent draft. Whatever the second thing it taught me as a kyrie irvings decision killed that team. It destroyed that t hurt him. Bad tony but so did letting al horford walking understand. He walked he wasn't trade. He walked al horford. So okay i'm gonna go. He didn't really want to go. He didn't want to go and they shouldn't let it go and they made a major mistake. Danny age made that mistake. In the might've been with brad stevens blessing and maybe apparently not because he got him back so tony what. But what intrigues me. Moore's presi tony. How many picks can you have. How many picks do you need. This looks like an impressed. The i mean. It seems like he knows what he's doing but this seems like the process on steroids right and the process could be out of work depending on what happens to the philadelphia's sixers even later tonight as soon as tonight so i've been looking at all these picks tone you need about three or four picks and prestige when he had top picks he has put them to work and there have been the right picks more way more often than.

"The face of the league janas. Now looks like a liability layton games. I can't even remember. it's interesting but let's say i mean brooklyn let me. Let's say again tonight. He shoots fifty percent from the free. Throw line. He only shoots thirty three percent beyond three feet. I don't remember a player who went from here from. Mvp face in the league to wow. You can't win a visa one. What are people now. I mean if they get rolled in this series and losing four or five does it change. How view jaanus. Mike just completely change how we view him as. It's not how i view because he wasn't my mvp the previous two years for this very reason and it was for the first time. This season where i saw him operating in the mid range and taking mid-range shots and making mid range shots with confidence. And i can't shake out of my head. What i saw between the brooklyn nets and the milwaukee bucks between kevin durant and thought that copa it was a old fashioned shootout between the two and janas all ultimately won the battle. Now that's regular season and the postseason is different. What i don't get in what i don't see from the milwaukee bucks is a connection between mike budenholzer janta compo- in terms of how they were going to approach the game. I didn't see him operating for the most part in the mid post or in the pinch post below the free throw line. That's where he has to operate this idea that he has to shoot threes. I don't want you to compo- operating above the three point line honestly anymore than lebron james giving me a steady diet of that i need my big nearly seven foot playmaker to be operating below the free throw line. And that's what has really astonished me in this series. So far is that we have not seen that and when we have seen it hasn't been as good there as he was in the regular season. So i'm not giving up on jaanus or or the bucks in terms of this series. They have a lot of work to do. But i can't put look if i'm going to look at the honest and say that he's not carrying water in this series. Then don't i have to look at the reigning. Mvp nikola yokich and suggest that he's not doing the same against the phoenix suns. Some guys first of all if you're playing big and i think is for the most part has to play big. They have to play them at the five to win the series. That's what they did during the regular season. Then you're dependent on the pieces around you to get the ball where you need it and and you also need your coach designing plays. That are going to put you in the right spot. And i haven't seen any of that from the milwaukee bucks so it is. I'm watching chris paul last night and he has a higher regular season. Win percentage than k. D. steph and kobe bryant. He actually does. And he's inherited a natural disaster. Donald sterling tanking franchise. I mean a lot of dysfunction chaos his whole career and just keeps overcoming it. And i sit and i think to myself in this league. Won't he's like the russell wilson and the nfl can't get an mvp vote. I watched in last night in that game. Totally controls the game fifty. I mean no turnovers. I don't even know. I'm trying to think of a cop for chris. Paul of a player that is so clearly running a franchise running a conference heddon show and we give him no respect..

"But i'm mike well on his national best friend's day. Tony how should we celebrate. I'm tony kornheiser. i'm sorry. I got plans with pablo man. Oh blow placed me. All righty this since. How is pablo very funny gonna. Pti boys and girls in today's episode sons pizza nuggets. Aaron rodgers misses the start of minicamp in the katie. ends suddenly. look on beatable. But we begin today with the brooklyn nets simply destroying the milwaukee on roasting the nets were up by seventeen at the quarter twenty four at the half thirty. The third and by as much as forty nine points in the fourth will pick the box in this series. Exactly what to the bucks. Have to be optimistic about now going home. That's it that's all they got to look. I i told you yesterday. I thought in game one. The bucks majored in dumb by just firing jack up threes as if they were you know golden state or somebody. Isn't that what they do. If big strong tough guys allegedly and guys who could play defense and do any of that. Let's just go jack it up and they look like morons they did. They played that when they're not is a bright team with bread individual players in a bright coaching staff. And i don't know what the hell they were doing and they doubled down on that last night. Tony they seem overwhelmed. They seem not prepared. I get it. I don't get it because coming off with they've come off of the last two years where they got aced out and embarrassed then. This is a shock. I did not see this coming. I can see coming but not like this. Yeah so i mean. I know what lula morello would do these devils. He fired the change. Because it really. It can't be much worse. I mean they got beat soundly in one they got torched in two hardens. Not even out there. You know for brooklyn and you just say to yourself. Well what is going on here. Let's go to some individual players. Janta compo. I want to get the numbers right. He's a two time. Mvp he had eighteen thousand last night. What's that like. He's to pretend from the foul line so now we're talking about ben. Simmons land the second third best players. Chris middleton to holiday. They were lousy again in game. One they were thirteen to forty two. They shot better. this time. Brought middleton was minus. Thirty holiday was minus twenty seven. What are they doing. Blake griffin hasn't dunked in three years. And he's talking on screen. People both games tony i. This is when i heard several former recent former players in the longtime former players. Say you know what forget about practice. Go and sit down and talk this out figure out where you are and what the hell is gone wrong and this coach who is not known for rallying people in the main right. Obviously his team's always prepared to enter a season. They're prepared in an overarching way. What is he going to do. Is he the guy to even rally them and so tony. Wow this is the shock of the playoffs so far them getting torched like they are over in the west. The phoenix suns topped the denver nuggets in game. One chris paul when six for six in the fourth quarter de'andre aiden played nikolai yokich to draw throughout the game. So who was the more important son last night. Tone paul or eytan. Yeah the temptation is to go with the obvious answer which is crispell because as you say in the fourth quarter. He was six for six. I believe either scored or assisted again. Let's get the numbers right on twenty of the sons thirty four points in the decisive fourth quarter. But you're gonna pick crisp because he's your boys not my boy. I'm gonna pick eight because as you say. He held the guy that you voted for. Mvp yes. He held him down and let me give a little bit of credit here to the coaching staff of the phoenix suns. Because they saw with yokich to backup centers in portland in that series and so every time yokich was out there every minute every second eight and was out there with when yokich sat down eight and sat down when yokich went back in eight and went back in and not only did he need twenty three shots to get his twenty two points. He didn't go to long. All which means that eight and guarded him honestly. Now seldom young played great. He did and i'm not gonna argue against any of that. I've just not but if you watched the post game which means you have to be some kind of lunatic up. Awake like me watching from the west coast three hours to him. You hear the andrea eight and say as he did. Chris paul chris. Paul chris paul chris paul. 'cause i know the tutoring that goes on tony chris. Paul did this and put his arm around eight and sometime around the first day camp instead son and could be sunny so young. You're gonna listen to the omega. Listen to yoda. And chris. Paul tony eight and said that chris paul just being on the floor having the ball help calm him in the whole team down and it does and then that fourth tony phoenix was down. Nine right down. Nine and with chris paul just starting to light it up. The sons had sixteen zero run. I'm not saying they would lose the game without that run. I'm just saying yes the easy answer because the answer and it can always be the answer. Is chris paul everything eight does. He's improved on doing from his tutoring from chris. Paul period may just let me just put this in the biggest surprise eight. Yes holding yokich even yes Eager surprise big big not a surprise. No surprise right over an nfl tone. Aaron rodgers was a no show for the first day of packers. I guess it's a mandatory minicamp as opposed to optional minicamp. That's not unexpected either way. Br andrew brand sports illustrated tweeted quote. Packers will never admitted but they would be fine with aaron skipping minicamp and maybe some training camp close quote because that enables them to better jordan love who they drafted toner you with brand that. The packers are secretly.

Psa nine and a half the price of an sec nine and a half and how is the s nine more valuable than psa. Nine right here you can see thanks to sports card investor recent sales data on the psa nine forty seven dollars thirty seven dollars for this cart to nine fifty four dollars. Forty one dollars fifty four dollars. I mean this is incredible now. How 'bout even not even getting the card grated raw fifteen dollars. Twenty five dollars. Twenty dollars sales for the zion card. Let's compare that to the psa eight which you're even more likely to get some cases you can get a psa eight for twenty two dollars twenty eight dollars thirty dollars now. I'm not saying. Don't have your cards graded. But i'm saying think twice about psa when you're looking at cards like this and if you really want to get a graded up the value your card go with s g. This is super intriguing to me. I'm probably going to take my own advice here and get some of my modern ultra-modern cards created by us. "You're listening to be for years knows this is one of my biggest concerns with basketball, and here's what I have to acknowledge here, I think the fact that played as little as he did this year as few games as did total this year. They managed his load as well as they did was a factor in this series. Look at his ability to guard Jaanus on one side of the floor and still lead his team on the offense inside of the floor. That is hard to do if you were warned down by long regular season. I see that being a concern. And so to me, this is terrible news. Because if it works I can't blame any team for doing it with their superstar, and that to me is very bad for the fans. So this to me is a challenge that Adam silver, and company will have to figure out how they're going to address because I do believe that load management is going to become more and more prevalent. And I get that this was a unique circumstance Koike coming off a series injury. But still, this, I think, is something. And Tom, I think it's something that. They need to really be concerned about. And I think Adam is addressing it. And he's also mentioned the possibility of going to a seventy five game schedule. I think we've already seen him take steps in terms of reducing the back to backs. And I think that's a big factor. I think when you look at the back of a guy like Kawai he sat out a lot of those games and I think it was smart on his behalf because he's coming back off of missing nearly an entire season. I think each player, you have to look at individually, but as far as of every team is concerned in terms of load management that's part of player care. So every team now employs sport, scientists athletic trainers, physical, therapists, and you can look at your schedule when it comes out, you have an idea when you're going to be hitting heavy parts of the schedule, and then you're going to look at that and say, okay, we're not gonna take a chance on risking injury. With the guy who may be Nick up or a guy who has an injury history and you probably going to sit those guys out, and I would guess all that was at stake for Toronto on both sides. I side in the Toronto Raptors side, that quite probably made the call most of the time as to when he was going to play not play like to Greenies point DJ. This isn't can't be good for the future of the NBA. No, it's not because stars drive the league and we need the stars out there as much as possible. And from a coaching perspective tips you can agree with this is that if those guys out there are not out there. You're possibility for winning goes way down in affect so many other things. So I think with Adam, and what he did with taking down the back of the bags four games in five nights doing away with some of those is going to help going forward. And I just hope that the stars of this league. Do not use this as a ploy going forward. Node manage, I agree. Look, I give out himself all the credit in the world. He is he has been sensational Commissioner, and in part because he gets out and. Front of these kinds of issues. And he's been talking about this. He was talking about it as early as I was talking about or anybody else. He recognizes this is a concern, but the reality of it is, this is the one sport where the players name goes above the marquee, right. This is like, if you're going to Broadway to see some big movie star was coming into play. Like you're going to see that person. If you don't see them, it doesn't matter how good the play is. You're gonna go home. Disappointed. And if you're the NBA you go see a basketball game that features make a team here. Mean anytime you want the Milwaukee Bucks and Janta compo- doesn't play. It could be triple overtime and end in one point, you're still going to go home disappointed. And that is what they have to figure out. I think you're hitting on something big there because it's not only the players your TV partners to lot. That's driving the league and then your fans your season ticket holders are paying to see these guys play. If someone doesn't play that takes away from the product and takes away from the.

"You talked about the ice. Oh ball. James harden plays again to perfection a lot of ways he does. But in terms of like watching it. I sometimes bores me. Yeah. I see. See I look at it as you have two great teams going head to head, and they have different styles and the warriors are being challenged both mentally and physically because of the style dictation from the rockets and a lot of it is hardened in. So, but it's also this idea that if they get more free throws than you. They take more three point shots than you than they're going to take their odds, and that they can beat you as nothing else to do with any other play design. It doesn't have anything to do with schematics and like oh out of timeouts they do this. So they maximize that that's not how they work. They just want the sheer number of free throw times and three point attempts as long as they can get both of those things in the ball James Harden's hands at the end of the game. They have a really good chance to win. And it's one of those epic battles in basketball. And in sports that we've come to seen see where you have to teams that are almost equally. Great. But they're different right? Like, and if you go back to the Jordan years, the Knicks were one of those teams that couldn't get past the chance, but yet they challenged them. And it was a lot like this same situation physically mentally challenged Jordan and the bulls, but Jordan the bulls, they were more talented more finesse and more skill. And that's what the warriors. And that's why you know, you see the game last night the rockets one, but it's not like that they own that game day were of big in the second half and Kevin Durant and Steph curry and Draymond green. They didn't quit. They kept doing what they do. And they were right there down three at them. You mentioned Kevin Durant. He is jacked ready for the series to extend. If it actually begins to forty four percent shooting guard guys do this other job keeping plant tough. And you know, we got out rebounded today at thirteen office does feel like head of a bunch of those late in the game. So we confident excited forgave. Just like they are going to be a wanna keep talking about. You know, details is going to be a great basketball game his counterparts on the other side. James harden, the superstar for the Houston Rockets talked about the difference in the game of the first game. They're supposed to do. Now. We get an opportunity to go back home. And do we're supposed to do we do that. So it's best out of three and whoever can get a road road win for us. It was been aggressive. Our mentality Chang, especially into to be more on both of the ball defensively. Make sure that everything that they get wasn't easy office. Rebel miss a lot of open shots that. We did. Also. I mean, I think both teams are fighting in. You got tireless you've got guys playing a lot of minutes and wherever it can make place. James harden, the Houston Rockets talking about. Teams have respect for each other. And bowl teams understand what this is. You know, you have five plus hall of famers in the game. You easily have four playing at their best. And you have two great teams who won that's designed to beat the other. And the other being the champion. It is epic battle in sports. And we don't always get to see this so I- cherish what we've seen and you said that's a little bit boring from the rockets side of things, I wonder why people think like are you happy that the rockets are pushing the warriors. Do you wanna see the warriors lose are you bored by the rockets, I like to see this match because I think both teams bring the best out of each other because they have to figure out a way to do it. That's not their normal way of doing. I wonder if people are conflicted because yes, the warriors are the, you know, the favorite the defending champs back to back and three of the last four. So there's the natural tendency. Especially if you're not. Golden State Warriors fan in any way. There's an tendency to be rooting for somebody to topple them the Houston Rockets in that sense are the underdog. But as I mentioned, I do wonder how many people enjoy watching the rockets play basketball again, I wanna take anything away from harden. I just wonder if people are rooting for the rockets, and then say themselves at the end of the series, if Rex can actually pull this off a boy, I don't know if I'm still rooting for them to win the title to go onto the title. Let me ask you about the other series that took place last night one thirteen to one zero one the bucks win there. Now up three one in the series over the Boston, Celtics, kyri Irving last night. He had twenty three points at Tennessee's he had six rebounds and forty three minutes. He shot seven of twenty two from the field. He went one of seven from three. Let me ask you this question. Because if the Boston Celtics lose in their next game and get bounced by the Milwaukee Bucks. Clearly, the bucks the best team these conference all season long and only great. Offensively. Great offensively as well. Heading into the playoffs both on offense and defensive efficiency in the league. They are good. They have the best player in the league, probably in Janta compo-, and what they're doing make sense everything they do has a reason, and it's a system and they play off of one player and it works guys hit threes, and they take more threes than almost anyone in the league except for Houston. And this is the way they play, and they have a distinct identity the Celtics do not they were a team that overachieved last year without their two stars their team that last year when they got to the playoffs allowed players to take roles that they may have been not ready for in the playoffs. Jason tatum. Terry Rozier, even Jalen Brown at points where then when they had to go back to their roles this season. It was tough to adjust which I understand it is tough to adjust. When you get the star treatment to then have to be second fiddle to a legitimate star. In the league, hiree Irving. So I asked you this question say Boston loses and they get bouncing this round. And a lot of the talk today has been about Kyrie Irving not returning to Boston next season. His Cairo Irving someone that you can win a championship win with as your best player. To me. It depends on who the second best players. Okay. So I mean, I think a lot of people heading into the year thought that Jason Tatum, and or Jalen Brown was a pretty worthy. Second best player on the championship level team. Look, I think Jason Tatum performed at a close to superstar level last season. And whether it's simply the fact that when he's paired with Kyrie Irving, he's not as maybe aggressive or maybe there are holes. And Jason Tatum's game that some of his opponents have you know, been clued in on after a full season to watch tape. I I don't know exactly what it is. Jason Tatum has not been nearly the player. He was last year in the playoffs. Would you agree with that? I mean, Jason Tatum hasn't played like that in like, four months absolutely exam. And and I think is is it because is it Tatum? Is it kyri Irving is a little bit of both. Are they a poor match for each other? Well, I'm always skeptical about crowning someone as a superstar in the league until they prove it over. Time. And Jason Tatum was on on. What's your how much time? I think that's the one thing. We gotta ask, you know. Like, here's the problem that I have with. It was Jason Tatum fantastic last year in the playoffs. Yeah. Was the on the big stage against LeBron doing big things. Sure. But like who who won that series? When all is said and done I mean, and and like really like I was shocked with all the over hype about Jason Tatum like many people were suggesting he's the best draft pick out of that class. Call people saying, oh, if you go back just day would be taken number one. But he's not like a he seems to me like a third best player on the team. And how long you take the figure that out? I don't know. I don't have a time frame on that. And maybe he does turn into a star in the league. And he can be a number one. He doesn't seem to have that killer instinct to me, though, he seems to be just like another guy who's talented sometimes he flashes. Sometimes he doesn't it kind of reminds me of Andrew Wiggins to a point where Wiggins sometimes looks like he could be the most talented player on the floor. And then sometimes he disappears to me. That's what Jason Tatum does a lot is he disappears. And I think that's strange for a player who's gotten this shine before and is proven it. He approved it lash in the playoffs. It's weird to me that he disappears. So I wonder if it has to do with Kyrie and all the behind the scenes stuff, that's taken place issue kyri, and they've worried about the, you know, the behind the scenes stuff. Good going onto the certainly could. But just the fact that I don't know if they're great pair was Hort. If you had the green light last year, and you this year take a shot, and then you have to deal with Kyrie talking trash to you or whatever behind the scenes or on the bench complaining about the shots that you're taking when you had the green light last year. Would you maybe think that in their head to maybe not take that shot this season? Look, it's it's certainly possible. But I think it's just problematic that Jason Tatum was, you know, the alpha on the team last year, and then kyri returns, and it's clear because what Kyrie's accomplished in the league that he then took over the role. And so they're they're dealing with this and poorly. I think all year long because you've looked the talent on the roster. And you say why aren't they better? Well because you look at the name Jason Tatum. And remember what he did last year at his height? He's not playing at that level. He hasn't. Really as you said in four months if you had to pick one player to build your championship franchise around your team going forward trying to chase the championship. Who would you rather have Kyrie Irving or Russell Westbrook? I have to pick one I'm probably picking Kyrie Irving because they're both flawed the mold on teams that were expecting to do more than they they're probably going to do because I think we assume the Celtics will get bounced here, and they both have big flaws in their game in the character of gang along with other players other star players it is tough because Boston in Oklahoma City. They have a star. They have a superstar kyri Russell Westbrook. But they're kind of stuck in until they do something else..
