"I find a lot of the stuff. They right Not intriguing i guess. I like beach a lot though. But i do love me some surfer susie and i was stoked that she was featured on this website and getting any publication. And because she just out there doing things. She started up an instagram account. And you can find her at surfer. Suzy sixty six. And she's apparently seventy four years old and she's more stoke than you are. I promise that and she was also featured on this very podcast episode Oh an episode was but a long time ago. Episode thirty six and coincidentally it was in fact my major league baseball preview episode with great anthony with trotto followed by a great a great interview with Surfer suzy at surfer suzy. Sixty six anyway congrats to you. Susie all right well. Yeah i had fun at that game. I sat down next to a dodgers fan. It within like he was really friendly. But you know those people who just talk too much like they talk almost they have like my wife and i say this like they have sickness kind of like the lack of self awareness. Just you kind of have to like say. Hi what you realize that you're stuck in someone's vortex and they're like they don't have that social intelligence to realize. Oh this is my cue to end the conversation. Or i'm just talking to this guy and i met him a minute ago and i already had my phone out showing you pictures of restored. Volkswagen bug within five minutes. This guy revealed himself to be an anti vaccine and then showed me pictures of his restored. Vw bug while wearing a dodgers hat and disappointingly. He didn't know shit about baseball. Like damn near had to tell them what. How many outsor- in an inning. He didn't know kenley jansen was he. Didn't know cody bellinger. He was just kind of a johnny-come-lately dodger's fan. But i respect you dodgers fans. I hate the dodgers. But i know there's plenty of dodgers fans. Listen to this and follows born in another place. And another time. I could very well be a dodgers fan. I'm a giants fan. I think you as a dodgers fan myself giants fan. We're both lucky in that. Are franchises are willing to spend money and they also have the brainpower to apparently put some pretty damn good baseball teams on the field. I expect the giants to regress next year. I think they overachieved to a large degree but they may in fact crash the playoffs once more and i expect to get revenge on Lawyers all right. Let's get to this interview. Brian king brian king. What a cool dude. You're going to enjoy this. Brian king founded a nonprofit him and his wife did. It's called.

"Refocus ugly now that we know a little bit more about your story. What is the well and how did come out of your story ya. Yeah so shortly after. I was that for you like i was a yes girl. Like god you. Yes i will and i just like had this reckless pursue of jesus that like yup. Yup i'll do it Started with like a hostess summer. Bible study like you know. I'm not an expert in the bible. But like i wanna know you more in allen by other women to do with me and that was like my entry into ministry if you wanna call it bad this summer bible study where the most eclectic group of women you know would show up at my house and study god's word And so yeah. It started as a summer study. And that was like a simple active obedience said. Yep okay god. I'll do app and it continued like god kept bringing people into my life. Who like again different stories but similar shame experience says In begin to give like give me these partners in in life to do ministry with and so yeah it was a bible study and then it turned into Will a big part of how i learned to walk with. Jesus was like. I seek it out in so it wasn't like step free like i knew exactly what to do with my life. I have no clue. I had no clue. I didn't know and so one of the things That i did was. I saw mentorship. Because like i didn't know how to read my bible. I did not know like how to hear holy spirit or what it looks like to walk by faith not by sight or all of that..

"Your eyes up because there are people around you in your life some that you some that are new are some who are there but also more importantly is jesus atas and he has like that is who he is. He has a hand down into the pet like solemn. Eighteen is like my all time favorite Passage in the bible because it is just beautiful powerful picture of god coming down from heaven to rescue and like he's waiting he's waiting in so lift up your head and tell someone. I think that is another one of the big lessons i've learned. Is that in in the message. I will preach until jesus comes back again. Is the things that we keep in. The darkness are the things that scene uses against us and that is our san. That is allies. Were believing they're the feelings that are overwhelming us when we just leave those inside of ourselves in in the darkness but dark recesses of our hearts and minds that's where state in has access to them but like scripture tells us where the light is darkness cannot be insulting me sharing which is incredibly frightening. It's so scary invulnerable but sharing with someone that you know or trust a counselor pastor friend someone who is safe to you the truth about your experience left light an and it allows another person to shine their light into the situation to And so it's really embarrassing to say out loud. Some of the things that we believe about ourselves or some of the things we struggle with our Because the enemy wants us to believe like it's just you no one else can relate to that like you're the only one what you've done is unforgivable or You know what all those things but the truth is like we all have something mine. Looks a lot different than yours. but we all have it and often times you know when we share with other people what we're struggling with that gives another person permission to say can meet..

I found on their website. Because this like gave me chills and made me tear up a little bit. Says it's for every woman who wonders if she belongs. Who wonders if she is seen. Who wonders if she's disqualified. Who wonders what jesus has to offer. Who wonders what living a new life looks like. And if that doesn't align perfectly with what we do at collected. I don't know what does so i just feel like. This is a god ordained conversation and i'm so excited to have an on the shelves so an welcome. Thank you so.

Giants Rally in 9th for 2nd Straight Night To Beat Dodgers

"The giants scored four two out ninth inning runs off Dodger closer Kenley Jansen to pull out an improbable five to three when they're in rough drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game and lamonte Wade junior then capped the rally with a two run single listing it too much about what else is going on interesting about focusing on my bed when I need to do to have consistent bad and you know try to help the team out so you kind of just focus in on that get a good pitch to hit likely did not object to do that it was Jansen's second blown save in two nights LA ace Walker Buehler held the giants to a run on five hits Buehler struck out nine before leaving in the eighth mark Myers Los Angeles

"Two playoff games. He just blew two of them by the way. They're not playoff games in july. They're not playoff games. Waste there's games against the giants. This is this is the things you will playoff game we can. We can modify playoff game right. Well wait a minute. They're battling for the top of the division. How much more high leverage do you want their one game out of first place and he just blew the gang open. Its july man. All right here's gave robertson and game who not surprisingly agrees with mason yes. This guy is a lifelong dodger. And i think to start is the fan. Certainly have a right to voice their frustrations and absolutely I get that. But i do believe that. This guy Born and raised dodger. What he does He cares about the dodgers. The fan base shown that on the field off the field and and no-one hurts more than he does to be quite honest and he's worked really hard to kind of get back and should have been an all star this year and he's had a fantastic season. So are there was a hiccup the other night and have one at home. He was looking forward to pitching at home and so for to not go. I think that Yeah i'm disappointed here. That certainly he's not going to say but i am. Yeah by the way beto durant. That tweet sucks on that tweet. That oh i'm with you a little league with snacks. Let's just not boo people inside our own rise every jammed. Here's tom in santa barbara. Hey tom you're on seven ten. Espn hi hey guys you grow. You are absolutely great. I love your show daily. I work A driver for a living sleep is also or george. They're great anyway. here's kenley. I think if we can handle him. Psychologically because i think he's a really sensitive great guy he needs to be repositioned blake. Training came in yesterday and he killed it. I was a rose up halfway between third and third base line or the third base style all. Hey hey tom pattern. Yeah notice mason. Walking out after kenley gave up the runs in the nile did not notice that because i watching a home run from wilmer florez over the field thing now you. You don't think tom's idea would work. Because you don't think kenley would be a setup guy. I don't think kenley is a setup guy in fact i don't even see kenley used in a tie game pitcher as a tie game. I just think he gets ramped up for a safe situation. Obviously it didn't work last night. But i don't know why everybody is willing to throw kenley out after after a bad week. Tom thank you for calling we. Let's go to john in long beach on line three. Hey john you're on seven ten. Espn guys have been listening to you. Since nineteen ninety eight love your show suffered. Okay thank you. I have three words for you guys jose mesa cleveland. Would that mean out. Means nineteen ninety seven when the indians were in the world series against florida. The marlins as they were called at the time. Jose mesa who was there. Ace closer thirty five plus saves over the year when they needed him. The most blew the save opportunity in extra innings. And the marlins went on and won the world series. So you weren't out away. John is that your way of saying you. Would you would get reinforcements you get help in the bullpen. Absolutely absolutely yes. All right thanks man. Thanks yeah i just. I i think people are so reactionary people are so it's in a we live in a country where it's like bam all of a sudden we wanna throw somebody out. It's like kenley blows say we're done with you you're done. Here's chris in palmdale on line six. Hey chris you're on seven ten. Espn mary great show. Thanks ardent met you. Who like twenty five years ago. He's still great on the radio to as you got the best white hair in and all of espn broke. Keep thank you. Thank you rocket now way. Chris would you do with kenley. Jansen okay. we're kenley. I'm a dodger fan. The one who has la dodger tattooed on my leg. Nice unrolling with kennedy. I'm rolling kennedy look. We wanted us season. This guy's been pitching great this year. You know he has a couple. I think what to two blown saves thirty four twenty one of twenty five hundred twenty five okay. Yeah i never really agree with you that much but on this one all right thanks. Thank you for this. This will not be the last time you agree with me. This is the start of a trend. Carlos in huntington beach carlos you're at seven ten. Espn hi hey what's up guys Man i'm so done with kenley. This has been going along ever since he had that issue in in colorado. He's never been the same after that. Wait a minute. I agree with you but that's not true. He's been pretty good this year. Pretty good he's been. He's twenty one of twenty five and save opportunities. It pretty good but like you said mason is july one about when it counts and if you guys remember who through the last hour for world series win we had exactly so why why ended the peach Pitch candy dancing if he was so good. I'm also i wanna. I wanna point another thing too Dave roberts should pick them up the game when he hit that bomb but nobody was even in the bullpen warming up. He had six batters before he took him out that game. And and to you know Put salt in the injury. They still check on like. You don't need to check them. The was pitchy nice guys. Thanks the way he makes a really good point and another argument for me on why we should get a starter and not a reliever. Who do you really want in the mount for the final out of a game. Let's say seven the world series this year. Who do you want on the mount baker last year correct. And how do you move odious to that position. You add another starter. Because he's not going to be able to do it like a puzzle piece. Here's rick in torrance. Hey rick you're on seven ten. Espn high so my take is there'll be there'll be plenty of time to shower kenley with love and attention at the old timers game. You know what we'll love until he dies that you know i just finished. I'm in sales. I just finished a good quarter and my vp was. Hey that's great. But if i go to the next quarter and i don't do it. You think he's gonna ride with me now. It's it's ireland. Says this is what have you done for me lately. Business and kenley. He may not. We may not get off on a mason. But he's on triple secret probation. Appreciate prove ation. If this continues to happen. I tell you what he needs to go because losing to the wants like that. We're in a dogfight. The underdog fight in the nfl west and we have to prove or defending champs. We have to prove to the rest of the world that last year even a sixty game season was not a fluke that we are legit. Ray we need for that and david. He's right you're saying. Oh it's july doesn't matter the hell it doesn't matter. These are the giants. This is a dog fight. Getting the dogfight eighth. This is a hundred and sixty two game season just past the half every time you lose to the giants a little dies. yeah now. it hasn't been that way for the last couple of years. Hasn't been that way. I mean he hit the giants. But it hasn't been that way. And i still don't think i still think we beat the giants. I still think we beat the giants comfortably. But what i don't understand is just after a bad week. You're willing to throw away a closer..

"One is kind of a victory flowing smoothly. No we had a would we have. We have a leaky pipe or a pipe. Yeah they fixed a pipe that was it. but normally they're pretty regularly brennan craig tweets. I was there till the last. I didn't see mason. Actually never saw them all night on the luge. Also the booing just wasn't it. I was frustrated but man that had to have torn up janssen. Yeah it had to tear mean. Imagine getting booed at anything. You do madge on your play by play announcer. Yeah somebody doesn't like your call. When i when i worked for k. Cal and i would go to football games. Because you and i had the show everybody knew i went to ucla. So i would get booed a lot at and i kind of liked it. I thought it was fun. But i don't think kenley jansen did did did. Do we have what dave roberts said after the guy. I think we do jesse hor. We've a houseful their whore. Hey do we have that. What dave roberts okay. Well they're looking for now. I don't know i again. I know fans this is the way fans. Show the take care. But i don't know in the case of kenley jansen if it does any good like i don't necessarily think he's gonna wake up and say okay. I'm going to pitch better. He knows he's got a troubled history and this year he's actually been pretty good. He's pretty good. He's been fantastic. Yeah spent he saved twenty one of twenty five games but he's been on a roll if you were going to pin it on like if you're going to list of people as to why the dodgers made it to three world series but only one one jansen would be near the top you could also say yeah. Janssen obviously was not a factor last year during the postseason but they won last year. Yeah they won last year but he still was not not about when they lost to the astros lost in the astros went to now all tainted but when the the astros and lost to the red sox i think dodger fans just. They've seen that movie they know it's going to be a white knuckle. Every time he comes in and so when he comes in and does that. I think that's dodger. Fan saying come on man cages. Get a one two three inning. Every once in a while to see close phil bickford. I mean honestly this you. That guy by the way does not fill bickford. Sounds like my neighbor. When i was an accountant does ain't phil pickford here. But i mean you know the weird thing about. The dodgers is aside from training and victor gonzalez. Although he's had problems lately they really haven't had david price has been good. at times. Jimmy nelson has been good at times but they really don't have a stacked bullpen. Like phil bickford is a guy that you do see trying to spend good. Kelly's been good david price. We've been talking about the fact that their starting pitching has really been devastated by injury. Yes decimates off the year clayton. Kershaw is out for the foreseeable future. We don't think. Trevor bowers coming back at all. So let's say you have a trade package that you know is going to bring you a pitcher. Okay you're going to go out like they got yu darvish a few years ago right so gibbs right texas would you pivot off of the starter and move to maybe craig kimbrel or reliever like that. Well as far as i'm concerned kenley. Jansen is the closer and kenley. Jansen i think went prior to the colorado game. This is sort of magnified because he blew back toback saves but he had gone nine consecutive appearances without allowing a run. So he's been throwing clean innings. He scuffled in two straight appearances including last night where he blew the game against a team that they're chasing for first place in the national league west so everything gets magnified. But no i think kenley jansen is the closer and what would you do if you added craig. Kimbrel would kimbrel be the setup guy. No janssen doesn't pitch well as a setup guy then she just doesn't then then i think you you pick kenley on some nights and you pitch kimberlin some nights that matters. Is you close games. It does care about anybody's feelings you're not going to push the eject button on kenley after last night. Not completely completely a little. Oh yeah a little will be because before this year. I remember at the start of the season. I thought he'd be cut by now. We are where we are because he is who he is. Yeah but i don't trust him. I think he's good. Twenty one of twenty five. I think he's had a good season. But you know what. Have you done lately business. I mean we call night so you can hear the after a bad night after two bad nights and row he's blown two saves and row. I mean i do trust. We take calls on this. You're the only one waving the kenley. Jansen fan club flag twenty-five you kidding me. i'd your fans want results arguably best closer in the game at this moment place. Are we in in the national league. We've got fifty nine wins. What place are we in. Were in second place beyond the giants who just happened to beat us last night. Because kenley blew the save. I can leave. Won me over. When he came on the show at the start of the year. I already lost you no no. He hasn't lost me. But what i'm seeing is. I don't trust that he's going. I'm not this i writer. Die with kenley like you are. that's idiotic he. He has a history of this inconsistency. You don't know if you can trust him. I very well might pivoted kimbrel if it came down to you know picking up a starter that could use third in the league in saves. Who's going to who's a started. It's gonna get traded at the trade deadline for sure know starter know sure's cobb gibson for sure gonna get solid guy. He's an innings eater. He's he's not only as an innings eater he's got the best earned run average in the american league. And he's under contract for next year to re really risking. So if you could have him or kimbrel who do you want kyle gets. Yeah gimme kimberly gives you more options to close games right now. I'm watching twenty and go out and through ford names watching them. You're not going to be a great to be a legitimate rotation starter. And he's not ready for. Here's here's the question. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn and take. And as i'm gonna make this fair. Take the entirety of the season as you evaluate this not. Just what happened last night. All right the entirety of the season of what. You've seen at kenley jansen. Are you with mason. That you rider die with kenley or you with me that you should explore getting a reliever the trade deadline. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn i bet. You're more people will be with me than you. Oh i mean judging from the booze last night at dodger stadium people do re buddy wurley. You were there more. People didn't do. It's shame here the booze shanley's got a very bad rap. He's third in the league in saves he saved twenty one games. he's got a buck seventeen whip. He's got a fifteen era seriously. He's got forty two strikeouts in thirty seven innings..

"I would never ever boom your own team. If the dodgers made five consecutive errors you wouldn't boom. Who would the booing beyond the guy consecutive years after the fifth air. Why doesn't anybody blue. And mookie betts strikes out with the bases-loaded why doesn't a hitter ever get held accountable. The way kenley jansen. It's a fair question. But i personally don't boo and i tend to agree with your sediment that it's not productive. I don't think it does anything. Kenley jansen nosy stinks. He's not trying to allow the giants to score runs. I mean you don't have to remind him that he stinks. I don't think it's productive. But at the same time like in philadelphia or lived in new york for a while ago fans knew way more than we do they they. They boo like crazy and the reason they boo is to keep the players and in in the case of james dolan the owner accountable that they care i think boeing is showing that fans care. They don't want to sit there and watch you blow leads so i would not kill people that boo personally. I wouldn't do it for all the reasons that you said. I don't know what purpose it serves. But i'm not mad at the people that booed. I'm mad at the people that boot. I'm i was mad. I was looking around. I was mad that i was in. I bet you didn't say anything. I i said nothing. Nothing exactly quiet. Yeah well what are you supposed to say. Our guy yes. That's what you're saying now. I can't control the whole stadium or you can control your section. Can i tell you. I gotta tell you one thing so anyways i was going to do the show from the studio today because there is some construction in the house and i drove downtown. I realized i didn't have my headphones or my computer. So i'm like well. There's absolutely no show without those things so i drove home and decided i would do the show here because i was short on time. And they're three construction guys in the house and they're all like what the f. is going on this guy all the sudden just started talking and i'm what is what construction is happening in your house. New bathroom stuff. New toilets new flooring all that kind of so you may. You may hear them talking. You may hear construction soy noises. But i just wanted to give you a heads up. But it's weird because those guys were in. They're just doing their minding their own business doing their job. And all the sudden they hear this guy wailing away on the radio but yeah my idea where they live. My family got sick of that. Five months ago. Yeah yeah no believe me. My family always have construction ireland. I feel you're always doing something at your house. We're not now. Well that one that one shed cut on fire during the show once and you've had plumbing problems on a regular basis for as long as i've known you all twenty twenty one has been pretty good. "I so honestly answer this question there until the end. My friend lively boos rained down. Kenley jails believe you do not believe that you are not at present heading for the exits before the final normally. When i when i go to games i take a picture of the scoreboard on my way out. roof that we didn't do that knocking. I promise you i was there. I promise you. I was there who can win. It all fell apart. Who who will. Who will validate the fact that the till the end. The only person that can do it is one. I think one will be honest. I do there will be on if you have two years. After the dodgers the lead. I think you left. I don't think he stayed for the bottom of the ninth. Absolutely not of course. I stayed for the. I don't understand believing of the games early. That never came early. What are you talking about. And i start with this the because and i bought a dodger dog last night. Okay crap just crap. I can't stand the confirmation bias you already thought it was going to be crap before you bought it so instead. I got the carney assadi carney asada helmet nachos and a brisket sandwich which was fantastic with coleslaw. We'll set up the second aiming point where you're required to wear a mask once you set foot inside the stadium inside the stadium. No because it's all outdoors. Okay yes so i was. I was covered in that scenario. Worst viewed as an outdoor venue. Okay so even though servers. Were not wearing masks. No the servers were wearing masks. I think generally speaking servers in most places are now wearing masks because of the Because of this new thing that we got going on but everybody else free and clear because it's an outdoor venue and they still haven't changed the rules for that and it's nice to be out there with a whole bunch of people screaming our heads all tell you this much john i was. I cannot understand booing your own player. I don't understand why a guy who saved twenty one of twenty five games a guy who has been the stalwart of your bullpen. A guy that's one of the most important reasons you've won fifty nine games this year. You would boo. you wouldn't boom mariana. You wouldn't boo trevor hoffman. You wouldn't boo de grills guys are in the hall of fame right well. Kenley jansen is the all time franchise save leader for the dodgers. Nobody has saved more games than kenley. Jansen and yet people are so quick trigger. he obviously didn't have it. the cutter wasn't caught did not have i was looking at the board. He was in the low nineties. He wasn't in the mid nineties like he's been so he obviously wasn't dominating but booing him i think is one unfair and to not good for the long term mental health kenley jansen so you don't think fan should ever do their own team. I think they have a right to i. Don't think they should. I would never do my own team..

"We'll somali i. Can you talk about your own relationship with kim hang. How did you get to know her. I started reporting on the dodgers around two thousand eight or nine with espn. And i'd see her on the field and she always was just kind of calmly standing there and you know just seemed like whatever interaction she had with people were seemed to be efficient and short and so it kind of intrigued me. Who is this person. So we just got to talking like. Oh this is this is coming. She's says gm and all of a sudden she's telling me stuff like we've got this kid kenley jansen as a catcher. You really can't hit those we put them on a mound and the results are interesting. Clayton's working on a slider molly. You should really check it out. But the where she would say it was so matter of fact and so dislike whole-home that that's kind of what stood out to me about her and then we've kept in touch over the years. How would you describe her personality. What she like completely unflappable. I think the first thing that needs to be done is. I've got a really familiarize myself with all. The ins and outs of the players. Deadpans are totally cool under pressure. Like the person you gonna call if you were kidnapped and needed the ransom delivered by noon with no you know without tipping off the police or anything else you. She won't be there. Where are we who these players are. And you know. That's that's at this point. The nuts and bolts of the job. Well for those. Who don't know that much about kim. And can you tell us about her career path so she played softball diversity of chicago. She was an infielder. She was really good. I was really a a sports nut love to play and she then became an intern with the white sox and twenty one years old working in the white sox baseball ops as an intern and at the time the other white sox were very good club had a lot of good young players and it was really just about learning and soaking it. All in absorbing all that i could and by the time she was twenty nine she was brian. Cashman the yankees assistant general manager and that was in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight. They won titles ninety eight ninety nine and two thousand now. Let's be clear here. That had she been a man she would have gotten a gm job somewhere else. But that didn't happen. Molly you about saying and how. She operated differently than her peers in l. a. Can you tell us about that. I mean that that dodgers organization was by a bunch of guys who were so emotional so yell at each other so in their feelings she was just sort of just like standing there. Like i can't believe you guys and so it was just like toddlers running around at her feet. Two thousand five. The gm position becomes open and she interviewed for that job. What happens there. She was by all accounts. She was right there and franklin court the former owner of the dodgers wanted to hire her her pedigree spoke for itself. She had three world series rings. She had sixteen years in the business and the owner frank mccord. He wanted the credit of hiring the first female general manager. But what i was told later was that he was scared of the backlash of being the first guy to fire a female general manager. Because as we know it's a cutthroat industry n. gm's they don't their shelf life long even talented ones and so that was one of the reasons he was too scared of that. I guess the mcchord years got really ugly and about i say i wanna say two months before. The dodgers filed for bankruptcy. Because of a court drove the team into the ground. She got out of there and went to work with joe. Torry be again demonstrating how smart. She is molly. You know as well as anybody that kim has been talked about for basically twenty years now as the person who is going to be the first woman. Gm in baseball. Do you have a sense. For how many teams have considered her or interviewed for this position. Because yesterday when i wrote my story i published. I said as far as we know. The dodgers angels the padres the giants the mariners. They've all any reader and within like two minutes. My story going up. Somebody with orioles texted me. Oh we interviewed or to like it was just like everybody is interviewed her. Just sit there going through this anymore. They're just putting me through this so they can fill their quota or whatever i'm not gonna put myself section but she just did not give up and that's really the way a lot of my career has gone is just every step of the way it working as hard as i could give you my nose to the grindstone and just you know getting to the next level but i think this is so valuable to any of us who do have specific dream in mind about something. We'd like to do one day. And that's you know when you call close and you don't get that job that you desperate for just got a flick flush it and let it go and not let it break you to the point where you're not going to try again.

Los Angeles Erupts As Dodgers Win First World Series Championship In 32 Years

"I WANNA zoom out here now on the dodgers as this franchise because this was their first championship in thirty two years and I was watching Dave Roberts and putting aside all of the Cova. Complications it was hard not to feel something for that guy and it was hard to feel something for this organization N. This fan base and this city. So what did you make of the dodgers finally getting over? This. Particular Hump, you know I think that Dave Roberts has been a guy who at times has been rightly maligned for his decision making but the decision making that will stick with me from this postseason has to do with two pitchers Clayton Kershaw in Julio. Arenas Dave Roberts twenty four hours before he won a world series championship got booed by a crowd that was almost entirely dodger fans at a neutral site stadium. It was a really weird thing. This guy who's got all these supposed demons and October's getting a standing ovation coming off the field. For for people who think he should have stayed in the game it was just a very bizarro situation and you know what I think Dave? Roberts. made the right move there. And people are always going to say process over outcome process over outcome raised died on that mantra and. Dave Roberts lived on it. He ended up going with Julio Arias for the last three innings of the clincher in the S. In the last three innings of the clincher in the world series he had Clayton Kershaw and Kenley Jansen, his two rocks out in the bullpen ready and willing to go and he said now I'm a stick with a kid who's pitching. He stuck with the guy who looked good and that is one thing that Kevin cash did not do. And there's an argument to be made. That they lost the world series because of that. And then you look at Julio. Maria Standing There Austin Barnes catching that call third strike in grabbing the ball with his right hand and stuffing in his back pocket. That's history in his back pocket right there and the celebration that came afterward and all of the madness and weirdness and oddity of two thousand twenty being wrapped up in such a perfect though.

Play especially in that, especially in those games in Houston, there was a couple of games that really got out of hand with home runs, and an offense and stuff. It's you know, do do do. Do you ever go back through some of that and just go? Like how different that series turns out if you know our. Did this affected you ever? Go back and try to study that. No. The game to feel like. Yes, they can be beat US literally. Beat me game to. The Game Five. Actually you know I. Never see whenever we score for that. Normally. We scored four runs Kershaw. You will not be Kershaw. Can't we just do better cell phone companies? Can we do better? Okay? Can we have a vested interest in not doing better, though like if they it perfect, it's kind of like you want people to keep buying new phones. You want people to keep doing different like you always have to advertise when you build something of and now they charge you for extra data like you're only getting I mean I think there? There's not an interest in in making a great. But. It was interesting. Tinley said though about his own heart condition because you know same thing with Javale McGee. WHO's got asthma? You were saying that the one the rule that was interesting to you was the runner on second base to start extra innings. The second base started actually any I mean that has the pitcher. You're always gonNA play. Competitive team win, but it's like okay. Was that runs GonNa be charged with their. On you know I mean I know as a competitive Fisher. No I I can't to you know pitches one that on their on their staff. At the was going to be interested and the VHS. University to be awesome because I believe you know. Why should be half pitchers hidden, so we don't. We practiced pitching. I think it's great. Other young guys for to be in the big leagues. So you have another spot, there adage you have. and to me that will help. The game gets better because to me, I'm sorry I I never got that rule of you not Fisher go out there, and there's just a easy out. You don't want you want vision so. I, think the age. Sixty Games that enough for the dodgers, who I think calling all the sports books are the favourite to win it this year. Is that enough for the dodgers to feel like? This would be a legitimate championship if you guys were able to live at this year. I mean yeah for sure. I mean this is. Not started since they want. That's why I said I should be doing anyway start, they wanted. Sixty Games. Just anybody. Can you know played great for sixty games and and MB and the contender playoffs? So you know it's to be changing your roughing every sheriff because? You know. How many! That versus the Game The Washington. National the the best The bench champion this year to. Thirteen, thirty, three, the first of. The game. And then it become the champion so I think it's GonNa. Be a challenging mean. You know you gotTa See. Places they want. You know play. They're the baseball. try to get in the playoffs so now. That would be definitely interested this year. Kenley Jansen joining us here. Dodgers closer extraordinaire at Kenley. You mentioned the nationals because of the way things ended for you guys last season. How much extra motivation is there for you and your squad right now? Always explanation to fish I mean this. Is For us. While now that he got a championship is going to be a bus. So that's how we're GONNA go this year. You know deeply in the playoffs for so long and found spring. The snow's we. We don't happen. Put pressure on himself, and we know that, but you know the focus and the motivation. Choking. So It's..

"So I love big events like that. They're real like we used to realize proceeds that's right. The other thing I loved about Gaga yesterday is just like she we talked when we we were just talking about this with with stran- McVeigh. You gotta be able to evolve and grow, right? So she has been lady Gaga she's shown so much in her musical career than she was an actress now and the Bradley Cooper Laurie born she went from the girl who was more exhibitionist with like, we're in the raw meat dress. Now, she's like legit superstar. So you got to walk that line. I'm trying hard. I'm putting on the show, but I'm not trying to hide he was previously like Madonna met Bjork. Good. That's good mash up. Yeah. And now, she is right. She's a legit superstars. But how do you own that? But also say interesting once you're on top you got to find ways to be interesting while you're on top. You can't try too hard. Because then you jump the shark, right? I think I'll pass that at this point. I think Gaga is locked and loaded lead pipe sealed as lifetime lifetime. But what if she just went too far on the dress? What if she went too far on the happens? It was. It might have too much one one. Outfit change too much, and you jumped the shark. Yeah. That's how quick like do you think Dwayne and Gabby for? No. I thought it was funny. Like, I thought I thought they went further than that. Would it have been too much if they would have gone more than that? It might have been hang out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean the Gaga three or four dresses. That's that's too much are are met gala. Correspondent Stephen a Smith wants to weigh way. I mean, he's not happy. He's not a fan. Apparently. So Beckham's sleeveless tuxedo. You'd see that. I missed that. I did not see that actually. Yeah. It looked lazy to me. Yeah. Yeah. Some people have said that about Oto buckle before. Yeah. Now. Is it is it too much to say that kenley Jansen may need to be it may the dodgers may need to consider someone else at closers too much to say that not too much. I mean last year, right? Wasn't pretty at the end. We know he had the heart condition. Obviously you feel for him in those situations. There's two blown saves this year Julio DS had to finish it off for him recently. Craig kimbrel is sitting out there for not for free. But I'm saying you don't have to give up anything for for him. Sitting is I think if you don't have your kimbro than you killing kenley, you gotta trae kenley 'cause kenley end Kimball. Both only can only to be closures. They don't wanna be eighth inning guy. They're not gonna be like, I'm okay in just Kimberly. Even have I would be an eighth inning guy. But I think the issue is that once you signed Kimball at this stage of the game. We're in the first week of may you're bringing in a closer whether he's closing or not. But he may have. Have pain and everybody in the clubhouse knows if there's another slip up from kenley? Well, then you're probably going to change things up one way or another. So they the friction will be there. Whether or not only lies the position about Brandon moral into closer and paid them a bunch of money and can lead in like it. Right. And then moral ended up blowing up and kenley reassume the closer role. Right. That was seen as a remarkable act of disloyalty when they brought in Moro for that role. And then kenley retook his position the thing with kenley. That's interesting. He do you know his backstory, I know the backstory that he was killed him curse. Al was supposed initially a catcher. Right. I know that what happened was the lake is the dodgers saw that the kid had an arm. He wasn't a very good hitter..

"Now for Bart Jansen Justice department reporter at USA today. What are we learning? Marie says that Muller found no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians despite numerous attempts by Russians to try to moving grew with the campaign in two thousand sixteen so President Trump himself called that a complete exoneration as he boarded Air Force One down in Florida to come back to Washington. But another big facet of the investigation deals with obstruction of Justice in on that Muller told bar that he didn't make any determination either way. So while he says explicitly wild report does not conclude that the president committed a crime it also does not exonerate him. So Democrats are now feeding on that to say, well, we need to take a closer look at what possibly was obstructed the House Judiciary chairman, Jerry Nadler of New York plans to call attorney general bar into the into a hearing your testimony from bar about you know, how you get to that conclusion what went into it and all sorts of people in both parties say they want to look at the bull Muller report, however long, it is we don't know how long. And house speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer say that bars. Judgment can't be trusted because bar had been critical of Muller. So there's a lot more to be investigated. We're speaking with Bart Johnson Justice department reporter at USA today. Talking about attorney general Bill bars summary of the special counsel's report with regards to House Democrats now who planned further investigations, Mr. Muller us nineteen lawyers by his count about forty FBI agents. There were hundreds of search warrants issued twenty eight hundred something subpoenas thirteen foreign governments asked for evidence about five hundred people were interviewed as witnesses house. Democrats can do better or more than that. Well, subpoena power is is a is a powerful incentive to get additional testimony or evidence. I think what the way that House Democratic committee chairmen have described it, whether it's Jerry Nadler judiciary, Adam Schiff at Intel or Elijah Cummings at house oversight and reform is that they want to use the Muller investigation as a foundation, they use everything. And that's why they want to get the entire not just the mole report. But basically all the evidence that he collected to all those everything that he got in all those searches and all those subpoenas. They wanna take a look at because then they want to pursue investigations at Intel seeing whether Russians are unduly influencing the president whether because of his real estate deals or other stuff that we don't know yet. Elijah Cummings at the house oversight wants to look at weather. There might be any public corruption involving the president which might be foreign entities, contributing to the Trump hotel here in Washington or other business dealings, which have not been charged that has not come up under Muller in any way. And Jerry, Nadler at judiciary just wants to take a look at the obstruction of Justice. Whether anybody was perhaps ordered to lie to thwart the investigation. So those are the things that House Democrats want to pursue. I assume there has to be at this point going forward, some political risk for Democrats, depending on how far they go. Well, one of the things that we've seen as this report sort of drew to a close, and and, you know, the president himself his children were not charged and he is claiming complete exoneration polls have shown greater support for him perhaps less patience for a never ending investigation. Sparked bar Jansen Justice department reporter at USA today. Separately, Wall Street Journal columnist Kim strassel says the final report is more than an exoneration. She says it's a searing indictment of the FBI as well. As a reminder of the need to know the story behind the bureau's corrosive investigation, fourteen minutes now after.
