Review: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2

"The Galaxy Z. or Fold to. The Galaxy said full to phone. So you may remember I had last week I had the Microsoft duo which was a dual screen phone. That on Hanjin, the middle unfolded. And, I thought this just the software didn't really use it very well. I loved the idea was beautiful harbour, very thin and light and. And everything but it just it was Kinda Janke I could make it fulltime phone. So I sent it back and I took the money. And then some and apply because this is a two thousand dollar phone this galaxy fold, which means you don't have to worry about it 'cause that's ridiculous. Ridiculous. Four Times more than you need to spend for phone. If you need a new phone, you want Andrew get get the Pixel for a or you know that'd be fine. The Google phone but I'm you know me I'm interested in technology and and what we're technologies going. So I thought well, I should try this. I can always return it. If you know what I don't think I'm returning it's pretty cool. So it is thicker and heavier than a regular phone because it you know it's got it folds. It's like a sandwich, a sandwich with nothing in between. But on the other hand, the F- The unlike the Microsoft phone Microsoft not a they don't want you to think of as one. It has screen when it's folded. So you can see notifications, you can actually use it. It's a little it's thinner than a regular phone would be. So it's kind of you know it's not a it's kind of an odd ball screens, really thin and tall compared to any phone that you might use but still. Totally usable can and you don't look like a silly person making a call. It's just it's Kinda. It's Kinda thin. Kind of kind of kind of a weird aspect ratio, but then it has a fingerprint reader face reader, which is good for these days of masks. But then. Let's say you you. You launch a program or something on the front face when you open up the phone, it goes to the open when it's so big. So big nice and spacious. Now. It's like a little tablet and yeah, it was a little concerned about the folding screening indefinitely see that where the fold is doesn't doesn't disappear completely. But it kind of disappears from your awareness. And I have to say. It seems very well made. I wasn't going to get this because I thought. Oh. This Janki. is going to be silly this can be really Janke. You know it's really fun taking a picture with this big screen is huge. Like a bigger with an IPAD which I've always mocked people for. Taking a picture with an IPAD. So this isn't quite so big boy. It's kind of Nice, because you can really see what's going on. You know the pictures it's really like it's like holding. Like holding a big print in your hand. So you can see what it's GonNa look like when it's printed. And of course, Samsung always made the best screens. These are really gorgeous screens and it has a lot of features that duo left out. It's the fastest. Processor out there for for for android the QUALCOMM snapdragon it's It's got wireless charging. It's not waterproof for does proof as definitely not break proof which should make you nervous because if you drop this two thousand, it's like holding a Faberge egg in your hand. If you drop it, you bought it. You know you know. I I went out and took pictures of the other day and I thought. I better, not drop this. This if this falls out of my hand, that's That's a lot of money. So I I I have to say I'm not going to recommend anybody by this crazy expensive two thousand dollars for a phone. But. And, it's not a much better phone than the four hundred or five hundred dollar phone. It's just that. I was curious about folding screens and now I have to report. I'm pleasantly surprised. Unpleasantly surprised it actually It actually is pretty surprisingly functional and it doesn't feel I thought that folding screens gotTA. Be Weird rights feel plastic ear something. Once you open it up you kind of forget it that it you know that it's a plastic or anything it's just a big screen. It's Kinda Nice to have such a big screen in your pocket. So I'm I'm I'm actually very pleased I might even keep it. I know I know I know. A lot of money and then Someday. Did iphone. Event Invitations. Go Out. No, no nobody. Got Him. Okay I. Often don't get him so I don't know. I can't tell but I don't think they went out which means. Well, it's not going to be this week for the IPHONE twelve events like probably probably not gonna be could be next week. Everybody kind of agrees is going to be in October. So it could be maybe October. What is that six? Week from Tuesday yeah. Or October thirteen week from Tuesday they'll nuts new iphones. What do you think they'll be two thousand no but I bet you be able to get him up there. Close. Yet You know you get the. iphone twelve pro Max. With All the available storage they're offering whatever that is five twelve or to fifty six. I think I think you might get it up to fifteen hundred bucks crazy. But people and these things these phones are not. You know their fragile. Which means you got to buy insurance. So add that to the cost of the really not meant to be used for more than a couple years. So. So I'm thinking. maybe we should just you know think of our phone is a phone stick with that. I'll do the. Do the crazy. Spend for weird stuff just to let you know. I don't think this folding phones going to be cheap ever because I think it's an expensive part I. think that's really the problem.

Age of Calamity Is a Hyrule Warriors Sequel and a Breath of the Wild Prequel

"And welcome to Nintendo voice ITN's Nintendo podcast. I'm your host Casey Freedom in this week I'm joined by Brian Tano. Hey, Lee. Back on that from games come. Hey what's up? Hairstyle. So here. I am also here I'm also here well, I got I got busted I was still working when the show started. So a lot of people will see what I look like when I'm typing emails. I. See. Her. But this week, we will be talking about higher warriors age of calamity, how we really feel about Super Mario Three D all-stars being limited release in ramifications behind that move and of course about how much it costs but I believe the obviously the biggest news this week I mean besides some other big news but we don't really care about that on the show is higher warriors age calamity. Is Coming on November twentieth. Your. Game. I mean in it comes out the day after Cyberpunk I'm not happy about that. Yeah that seems like a mistake. Yeah. So I will I will say that like this was this was a surprise for sure right like this is in a in a year full of things leaking constantly. This was pretty awesome surprised to find that there's essentially a prequel to breadth of the wild coming to Nintendo switch. If, I just defined as that than. Most excited man in the world but this is a game in from tecmo Koei. It is a a warrior style game akin to hurry warriors and viral. Euros is that was called. which is Great. If you wait is it let's get that. Right? Is it heroes the one on the phone or is heroes the one? I ever warriors is the one on on. Okay I see you out there. Firing them sub. Read it. Relax. We got it. Right. Thank you. Thank you for having my back on that one pair your. That's happening. You saw. WanNa drought. Running back if you wanna see pair absolutely roast Brian Yeah No, you totally left me at the dry there. You're know if I ever move on a call Atkins accent come over and helping move and not you because you were not close friends. Resent. It is really difficult to keep the names of the warriors franchise straight right they. They're all of these games are so different in name. Yet they're all part of the warriors. Franchise. Dynasty. High rule yet and Hans maybe the fire emblem game is called find bloom heroes. Okay No, it's warriors. Okay. Let's move on. Somebody offer discord call. I WanNa worry a warriors game. So I from what I've been seeing overall people have been accepting this overall positively I think if this was part of a bigger directs I, think people would have seen the beginning of this thought it was brought to the while to and then been kind of like. Hey. Can I don't know taken by surprise? It's not what they're expecting but because they were upfront, it was a standalone announcement. It's able to kind of shine on its own and not to be in the shadow of what people really really wrong because now it's just a cool bonus. I understand why they did it the way that they did, but I have to say that. Having our Numa start this statement by. We know that people have been waiting for news about breath of the wild for a very long time. It's so cruel what A. Roller coaster of emotions man that was like Oh. My God Oh, I see I see. I, for some reason I did not I was not expecting any news on Zelda and so when he appeared I'm like Cool Zelda pick cross or something right? Like he I instantly when I saw him I somehow instantly knew it was going wasn't going to be the the sequel but I thought they handled the announcement really well, you know they set the set the stage saying it's GonNa be a while until you hear more information about the next game, but here's something to you over and. You know like I played the last Jairo Warriors, fired it up the you know. Yesterday and played a bunch with my daughter and it's like these games are good. We gave them seven Slat think Casey you reviewed one right. So Jose reviewed the original gave it a seven I. reviewed the definitive edition on the switching. Gave it a seven point five for good I know that our scale doesn't. Follow that anymore. But if I had to either up down, I, would honestly probably bump it up to an eight down to a seven. I, think the amount of content in that game is astounding even though it is kind of repetitive I mean it's Musso game for Games, Dynasty Warriors. You're just fighting hordes of enemies, but with highrise finish edition you you got like thirty one characters and right off the bat you had sixteen to choose from, and then on top of that, the story is actually. Even, completely off the wall in bonkers ridiculous. It was still pretty There's a to it and there are a lot of really interesting. man I'm drawing a blank cut scenes that kind of gave more personality to allow the characters and they brought characters from all of the different Zelda game. So I really enjoyed it and on top of that, you got a regular legends. Zelda map to explore where you could. There's a lot to go read the rape. Yeah, it's an. replaying it I. I was struck by how much fun it is. It is fun to just kinda slash these hordes of enemies and like get bigger specials and you know switching between characters unlocking more. There is a there's a lack of the final tweak and finish that Zelda Games known for right like just even the way the camera fields is just super. Janki to me like by default he can tweak a lot in this game, which is great. Right? Like everything just is a little Jane he still. Including the whole like I've mentioned this before it sometimes feels like a Zelda imposture thing you look at the characters saying something is wrong with the way they. Look and all of that but as a silly. Game it works and then case you exactly right. It's like this game is all about volume. It's all about like hordes of enemies and it's all about hordes of rewards like when you finish level, it's almost like this like giant treasure chest monster comes forward and just barth items out it's just like you. Blew. You finish a level has just list after list of these things in you hitting the button to get through all of them right? which is completely different from Zelda game where it's like you find the hook shot and it's like this momentous occasion that's you over the next two hours. Like to me Zelda has always been about I think most people about you know exploration

"I don't want that I've done it long enough that I don't have to do that anymore. So that's the line and Scott I know walks at all the journalists I work with walk this line between enthusiasm and love for the. Innovation the excitement and the and the changing world that we're living in because of technology. That's. there. But at the same time, a certain amount of. He I liked the word Scott used tempered. Temper judgement. so that when you look at something and say you know I don't I don't that's not a good idea. This new to screen. Microsoft to a phone is a really good example live. See A lot of people say expensive. I at the same time I look at it and go. That's a really interesting idea and we haven't seen anything new in phones in a long time, right? Phones are all basically the same slab of black glass. That's it. The differences between one phone and another he's being TNC. So when you when you're. When you're seeing something that's Kinda. New the folding phones. Now the folding funds I have to say, I was initially intrigued by, but once I saw how Janki. Those folding screens are I thought yeah that's not I. Don't think that's GonNa be the technology's not there. But the duo from Microsoft. That's interesting because it's two screens we already that's nothing new led screens. With a hinge out. So there's a little basil. There's little break in the middle, but I think that that's a better way of doing reliable. Anyway we'll see. So I, bought one spent my own darn money. To, get one I'm not talking to Microsoft about it I'm going to try it and review it anyway I. It's something to keep in mind when you when you read reviews when you listen to people talking about anything. are they are they? How in much in cahoots are they? Were the subject of their coverage?.

"Kind of hurts their command. bullpens are lot for me about commanding baseball. So you know, it's just about the old guys they'll. They don't mind taking their their side days off every now and then the young guys are still in that heavy routine that they think they have to do this or they're not gonNA succeed, so we gotta get them. You know strong mentally that. Hey, it's your major league pitcher. It's okay to take your. After four starts take a bullpen off, but you know I understand that guys don't like that, so that's when we pull it back a little bit and the suggestions. Are you know you throw? You normally throw thirty five fish bullpens cut this one down to a little bit around twenty touch and feel, and we're monitoring. Just kinda the number of throws Janki each day. Yeah, and that makes a lot of sense now but when? When we talked in February and March, certainly you everyone in the organization. A lot of people around baseball feel like the as have one of the best rotations in the game right now, going into a sixty game season does that dynamic changes at more of a level playing field for every team. When you know they're so few games or does this rotation give you guys like an extra advantage in a super short season. Tough question You are on paper. You look it and you say yeah. That's good rotation. And then actually got to go out and play. You know He's useless, Ardo and puck. You know they actually got start. Major League Baseball Games and And it's GonNa. Be Quick. There's not gonNA be much time for growing pains. You know you gotta get out of the gate a little bit you got to. Persevere over some up and down challenges that they may may encounter because they're young major league pitchers, so I think the fact of you know just being ready Early on is going to be important. You know I watch Hey, zoos pitch and the tally. Is You know like a five year veterans six year I mean He. He Not Maurice Him. He's not scared. He's got the pitch mix. He's got all the ingredients you're looking for, and now you just gotTa, go actually out there do it, and it's GonNa. Be a little bit different. Because you know. Normally you say well. He's got to go out and do it in front of a crowd. But Now? There's GonNa. Be No crowd, so it's going to be a lot of self motivation so. But I think you know those guys WanNa. Will we pay for online gameplay in the next generation?

"Do you think we still pay for playstation like do you think we still pay for online game play next generation or do you think that Microsoft clearly has been trying to move in the direction of rolling up into one service. Yeah so that but as they do that I think they get closer to where they can. Maybe just cross that one off the list of of benefits and just say hey. Everyone can can do this. Everyone can play Games online at sure. Yes privileges send for all. Yeah yeah if they reached the volume move game pass subscriptions that. It's like all right. Maybe the numbers lineup. Now that we can afford to do this. But also you've got another differentiator from the competition. Yeah as you get more and more games that are going to be online. Only server required Free to play a constant updates like all this other stuff like so many games are quote unquote online games. That having draw these weird boxes around. It's like well you know you can see other players in the world but you can't match with them unless you're paying like just weird cases like that and what do you do for free to play. What do you like? It would be an easier conversation. I think if they eliminate if they both eliminated that from the feature set for their paid tear possible. It's a lot of revenue to give up the also especially once you start especially in Microsoft's case where you're putting these games on. Pc you're now saying well if you're playing on pc you can just play now but if you're planning on. Xbox you have to have this additional tier of subscription to do this right now. That's because they know they can't get away with that on the like that but also what I'm saying like increasingly the shouldn't get away with. I'm not I'm not making a moral judgment just talking about what I think. A corporation is likely to do right and I just think of it as as this stuff converges like what already seemed like a pretty ludicrous concept. Now you're just like the wise it this way so I wonder if that's something that's going to going to change this time. Awesomely and does do we end up in a situation where one of them makes that change and the other one doesn't and is that a weird differentiator that people like walt like. Why do I have to continue to pay to play online here? Which is how the PS three in three sixty was but then the online experience ended up. Sometimes Janki to me. The thing seems to be doing is just to make the value proposition of game pass so overwhelming right. That who wouldn't want this is where they're trying to get to and then at that point if it's just rolled into that service then fine. I think it's a better play for the the people that are not decided about what consoles they would get if they eliminate that I can make that available for everyone. I could see

The Pixel 4 Has Issues and Google Seriously Needs to Try Harder

"You've had some experiences with your Pixel for recently and that got me thinking you know it's been a about a month since the phone was released and it hasn't gone so well for Google and is is this the year that Google kind of just seeds the fact that they're never gonNA make a phone that everybody wants like you've been sort of digging digging into this David trying to figure out. Why is Google so bad at this? Yeah and I talked on our show yesterday with Rhonda Mateo about this Little Morton. Ron's obviously of a similar opinion to me at this point his role. Yes came out you was frigging. It was it was like savage like the interview. I've ever read of any phone it. It was amazing when Ron really busts it out in hate something like you you really know I remember. I will never forget the time you reviewed the galaxy note ten point one. The original one and his final review photo at the end of the post was a picture of it in the trash He just really despise that thing so we talked about the the Pixel Four for a fair bit yesterday and like what Google Strategy is and I think one of the few no conclusions became too is like we're talking about. I think before the show started was the only league good phone it feels like Google do is the Pixel three a which is the cheap one like the specs. Actually don't matter like the phone where you're like well. It doesn't really matter what's in it. It's got a great camera and it has like unmatched with software and those are the two best things about the pixel but when it seems like Google increasingly tries to do a film that's more within that and tries to sit on the same like plateau is the iphone and Samsung Galaxy series. You end up with a phone. That just doesn't compare well like even when you look at one plus these days I think one plus is building better smartphones. Think Google and I did not think I would probably ever say that. Ah I mean Google still has a first mover advantage in that it. It always has newer software this year. The delta between Google having newer software and and like a company like one plus having it was was less than and in fact. Obviously the seventy relief that came out before the Pixel four with android ten onboard. But it's it's an odd thing and I I don't WanNa retread too much because every android podcast in the world has talked about this over the last month but here here we are and the thing that nobody talked about right at the beginning was that Google had the same endemic performance problems are the pixel for had the same endemic performance is problems as previous pixels and now you among other people are experiencing the same things right stuttering APP study stuttering camera slow. Slow APP loading General Janki nece across the across the board. That's very interesting to me because I've been all all over my pixel xl for being so terrible and all of those respects but my four excels been pristine this entire time. Yeah I mean like matter of just you are the unlucky recipients of a of a of a of a load file that's junked up or or is there something else going on as a wider problem. Yeah I don't I don't really know I mean the camera performance issues have really manifested in the last couple of weeks. I mean having having the phone for over a month now I've taken a ton of photos on it and I've really started in the notice that like especially when the features that I think is one of the biggest selling points of the phone has been the super This the new super resume and I use it pretty frequently and I just noticed how bad the Jank zooming and has become like. It's pretty brutal at this point for me. It it evens out but when you start up the camera like it's it's actively aggravating for me at this point I feel like I'm artem now with all these stupid phone problems but I've also had issues with Google maps getting pushed out of memory. All of my like you know my podcasting APPS and Like spotify and stuff not playing well but spotify. It doesn't play well on anything so that might be related Battery life has been tremendously. Hit or miss like somedays. It's seems okay some days it's like genuinely not good so we always see this Google's funds when they launched though this has been like the entire history of the Pixel brand their software issues that day. One can really seem pretty bad and eventually Google starts to like squash bugs but it does seem like there's a subset of people out there who pretty much have terrible problems for the lifetime of the device and I seem to have got them earlier than usual like last year at the Pixel three. I didn't have too many terrible problems. I didn't feel like but with this one. It's it's definitely been noticeably worse. I've had issues with the face. Unlock recently where it just sits there and basically spins like it's trying to recognize my face but it never says face on recognized it just sits there and spins and nothing happens and then I have to enter the pin or turn screen off and back on again and then it works like it stuff like that where. I'm just getting their things. Richest not a policy experience like you. You can really tell when Google starts rushing things out the door which is Kabbah does and I think after four years of this. I'm getting a little tired of

Why 'The Last of Us - Part 2' Delay Doesn't Worry Us

"We are of course meeting to talk about the fact that the last of us are too has been delayed it got a February twenty twenty release date just a month ago I think literally a month days we're recording I was at the preview event for the game and then they announced the release date on September Twenty Six for a February twenty twenty release now if confirmed this is actually going to be released on May twenty ninth twenty twenty Neil Druckman wrote a letter that I just I'm going to read briefly on the playstation blog he wrote I mentioned the release date change I know it was just about a month ago when we had our big blow out for the game leading media play over two hours of it along with debut in our new story trailer and revealing the release date the positive response we saw from our community was overwhelming you can feel the energy among the team members after working on something for so many years it's invigorating to get a glimpse of validation for all the hard work however it was during the last few weeks as we were closing out sections of the game that we realized we simply didn't have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of Polish we would call naughty dog already at this point we face we were faced with two options compromise parts of the game or get more time with the ladder and this new release date allows us to finish everything to our level of satisfaction while also adducing stress on the team while we're relieved that we won't have to compromise on our vision were disappointed that we weren't able to avoid this exact situation we wish we could have foreseen the amount of Polish we needed but the size and scope of the game got the better of us we hate disappointing our fans and for that we're sorry we hope you understand that this additional time insurance that the US partout lives up to our collective ambition as well as our at the highest levels of quality we know the extra few months will add to what may already be an excruciating wait for all of us we are grateful for your patience and continue support come next May he will finally rejoin Elian the last of us are to Neil so at that statement I wanted to of course up twelve U. and ask how you feel about this delay did WANNA point out one thing for me that's really great about the statement is during the fact that this is both to polish the game to make sure lives up to quality but also to reduce stress on the team right yeah that's I think that like sore healthy that sentence was included and that where seeing that from this caliber of a studio are where people are actually going to turn around and pay attention it's super important to avoid crunch with you know where you can and and I just think it's that was the best sentence and that whole statement I also think that this is a pretty like part of the coast delay I'm not worried about all I think it sounds like it's going to be for the game it's going to be best for the team it's healthy delay there's a difference between the healthy delay and then a series of unhealthy delays a lot of people ooh this is a bit worrying and it's like no no no this is completely fine this is not a duke nukem forever scenario right this is a small delay in order to polish the game rather than a series of studio mishaps and disastrous comical area areas which was the story of this could be Duke nukem forever scenario if this continues to happen and for the next decade yeah hope they're adding a mechanic where you can pick up your own feces yeah that was I think one of the defining things that have been missing naughty dog games no like like you said I think the the conversation it's happened around crunch over the last few years has been a lot more significant than I think most people give it credit for I think the average Gamer sort of looked at that and like well this doesn't affect me everybody has a hard job and it's like you're right you do and that should be addressed at your place of work as well if there was an industries dedicated to covering what you do for a living hopefully those issues would come up quicker but the fact that this conversations come up so often and it came up with red dead it came up with I mean even since the start of this gene ration- That game rise was one of the first things I remember seeing an xbox with the studio tweeted out we've we've ordered over four hundred thousand pizzas for everybody I eat late when they're working on our game and everyone was like that's not cute that's bad like you should scope your project better so it doesn't happen like that So if this means that those the people working in this game can go home and see their families and husbands and wives and kids and pets great like this means that this game is a catastrophic I sir I doubt it so I think this is definitely a positive thing the interesting part of this is that this means that Sony doesn't have a significant Q. One game period the First Party game that we know about so they not first party they do I we were talking about this off air and then I remember it because I just looked up a calendar they do have a much smaller release in the audience reach Marvel's Iron Vr oh which was really coming out within a week of the last part to yes obviously having a big flashy marvel game for your Vr headset that will hopefully sell more during black Friday is not a bad thing to have but I in terms of the traditional release late that we'd expect collages in the First Party right yeah we are missing that especially for something that is you know would essentially be a core ps four game yeah something that is for part of Yes white proxy of a of a four hundred three hundred dollars hat yeah I enjoy it it's still a big if assigning next year yeah I mean those two games and then ghosts and then I five and that's all we know about so far who knows what else has come it's really exciting you played the last speech to you played a couple of hours of it was there did you walk away from it being like this this game is really missing quality or Polish Elliott couldn't pick up any of the dogs poops really bummed about that Tina wouldn't let me publish that exposed to clean the yard that's terrible I do you know that that was from the dogs you're right it's a pretty tough world out there I know I mean obviously that I don't want to know what a clicker poop looks like the the obviously that was meant to be a slice of the game that they polished up for us to place the but even with that in regard it felt pretty well polished like if I was playing that on release of a game I really wouldn't have batted I ran really well all the nation looked pretty fluid a there was nothing really that gave me the sense of Oh this is pretty far back in development but of course that is a small slice of the game and maybe the speaks to me spoke to Neil Druckman at that time and he was like what you've seen as such a small bit of the game maybe that's really true yeah I think it's also with mentioning that in our of all major studios naughty dog in my mind is kind of known for that extra level of Polish like I have never played a naughty dog game that that Janki or a bit like broken in one section it's always no matter what you think of the story of the pacing will the other things you might want to criticize it's always like they always at the utmost level of Polish and so I think for Neil in the came it's probably polishing stuff that we wouldn't even think of this as you know for them it's it's that sort of one thousand percent thing so yeah I highly doubt that this is a big kind of overhaul but they need to do it's going to be just it's just about cleaning it up a little around the edges I wonder if this is I mean obviously leading stresses huge it's great that they're moving away from crunch for that and giving it the Polish it needs but also kind of getting out of the way of anything else that's happening in that era we we've got a pretty loaded front half of next year so yeah I've brought up the list right now of what we know and just to quickly go through stuff that playstation would have January we'll have Z. CACA rot February will include February's actually a little bit quieter let's see what else now arches watchdogs march is the so watchdogs got delayed this morning as well Oh did ask the interesting thing all the major twenty twenty February now quieter than we would have expected to still has ironman VR but gods and monsters which was releasing within a few days of the last of us is also delayed. Okay Yeah Ubisoft this morning also delayed Gaza monsters watchdogs Legion and was quarantined. Do we know anything that's coming out like early June Taylor I'm telling the mayor so may the only thing we know the latest the state for a major AAA release is marvel's vendors which will be two weeks before the last of us right now April basically the second quarter of the year is cyberpunk in April than Marvel's avengers in May and now the last part I mean this seems smart because you do get that you get the stuff that was sort of the holiday okay window that gets pushed and more and more seeing that kind of bleed over like we're talking about right now and then there's always the sort of the early early early fall late summer stuff but the first the first last of us was that was June was busy three yeah came out her kids are out of school shouldn't be playing the game because it's dark but you know it's a good time for kind of also just if you look at the calendar and you're like when is there going to be a lot of competition it's like you own the conversation doing it that we yeah well this is I think the naughty dogs one of the few studio that doesn't necessarily have to worry about the release because they're games sell tens of millions of units they're far and away from the best selling games on playstation and the PS four has a massive install base and we'll only have a big one after Christmas so I think that like this is their probably less concerned about playing keep away or having the dodge major releases the closest thing that I could see eating their lunches cyberpunk and they'll now be a month in like a week away from there they are I mean touch different games it's not like it's not like this any kind of danger of cannibalizing

The Harry Potter: Wizards Unite game

"What's making you happy this week is wizards unite now it's a harry potter phone game built on the framework of polka mongo which wasn't built built on the framework of another game very very very very similar only instead instead of catching magical animals to put them in bloody tori like bloodsport where you're looking like amusement really glad you you you help harry potter and his friends rescue magical artifacts and beloved characters from bad spells i think i'm not exactly clear the story elements who's gamer a little fuzzy it's been successful not nearly the phenomenon that poke him on go was each needlessly complicated involves inventory management my least favorite thing about games ever i mean how come i go does to shore and it is also just like cooking logo it's repetitive they're different categories of missions that spring up as you walk around the city and you do have played in the city just like pokemon go and i don't know if i i it's just the most common category or if my commute to work is doomed but my commute is very heavy with ministry of magic missions which is just rescuing the same ministry official the ministry of administrator and doing something with the newspaper kiosk over and over again but then i thought you know maybe that's mehta because in the harry potter cannon the ministry represents faceless bureaucracy it's most mundane aspect of the harry potter world so maybe it's supposed to be boring maybe maybe that makes sense but i'm having a blast for one reason and this is the thing the pokey mongo does not do which is that the game is licensed the likenesses of actors from the film's so i mean if you're in the middle of their commute and you're on the red line and it stuck and you get a signal an imperfectly rendered version of a below the character actors miriam goalies turns up on your phone and you can rescue you heard from a boat super whatever the hell that he's a good start to the day i have not yet seen emma thompson i have not yet seen it kind of janki maggie smith yet but i living hope it is a repetitive and it is obsessive but i'm in with both feet

"Janki fan. We blew everybody. It's. Good job, man. I gotta move on gotta talk to Bijou, Boca Raton, these how bro. I'm great John. How are you? Good. What's going on? Well, first of all we were in your wonderful city as horrendous as the traffic is as you mentioned. For the most basic Asian by gorgeous daughter, got married, and how was it? Beautiful. Couldn't it was. Well, you know, the weather last weekend was seventy four and sunny. Oh, yes. She got married. John at the trolley Marne. Oh, that's awesome absolutely beautiful per if we if I was zero to one hundred one hundred fifty that's awesome. That is fantastic to hear let me talk to you about Bruce Pearl. Okay. You can't walk if the guy without all the sleaze that he brings it's you're so correct. I'm so glad you brought that up grading interview. He's you know, he's he's he's a great coach great coach coach. But but what he did at Tennessee. And then he lied about it, and he did it again. And then when well wait a minute to and then there was stuff at the fighting the line I too. I mean, he's all you gotta do is just do a little research. He's a guy who he's a guy who I keep hearing. Well, he's made some mistakes. No mistake mistake mistake is if I looked down at my cell phone and check a text while I'm driving and I hit somebody. That's a mistake. I made a mistake. Conspiracies and a series of bad decisions is not a mistake. Right. So so very hard against him to be honest with you the issue today is you got the other on the other side of the core. Who's maybe just as sleazy, we don't even know. Well, it's a it's a there's some ugly names at at this week at thanks. Appreciate buddy there is some ugly ugly history in these coaches, John Calipari. If you hang a banner with Calipari, you have to you have to have velcro on it. S people you mess s the people at Memphis. But when they're talked about by the basketball elite these guys are disgust. If they are the guys that would be and we don't do mount Rushmore shows on this show, but they would be the guy whose faces would be choosers granite or the greatest Calipari cheater Patino cheater. Documented Bruce, Pearl cheater. But we look at them differently than we look at other sports. We don't look at the people who bend the rules break the rules disgrace the game the same in college basketball. These are the guys that the national analysts for college basketball lapham up. They're like they're like kittens in front of a bowl of milk. Oh, they're laughing. It up. They're not going to tell you the the full story, then I can give you the full story on any of these guys. Now blatantly rooting against people. I guess I'll root against people. I absolutely will gladly root against a guy. But great coaches, certainly doesn't mean great leaders of men, and I always hear that about college coaches. Well, you know, they're great leaders of men. These college coaches they care as much about the young man that they produce. As they do about. Any any of the the wins and losses? Those are secondary to producing great individuals. And I just laugh this laugh, I say, you really you're buying this. And as we started out the show today. I talked about in the first hour of the program. He's quit. We'll talk to David Gardner, by the way from Bleacher report he'll be out for the Duke. Michigan state game a little bit later on today. We'll talk to him coming up in just about seven minutes. He's quit. He's quit on his fan base. He's quit on the NBA. Lebron James's quit. His season's over he's eliminated. And he's just decided well, then I'll start my vacation a little bit early. I quit done. Might sound a little bit harsh. But I'm very very floored that the greatest talent in the game decides to just call it quits, another reason why the idea of LeBron James with the Lakers didn't make much sense to me. Is that the message that you want sent to young players in the NBA? When you're eliminated shut it down. Just shut it down. And if you're telling me that he has to shut it down due to injury. You know, you're lying. You know, you're being a full, but you keep up with the party line. If you wish. Yeah. Well, he Johnny was told to shut it down for that injury. He needs to rest his groin think you need to rest yours if you're coming out with that story line. Yeah. To give it up. Tremendous talent. Role model right now not so sure. For my young players to be modeling themselves after LeBron not sure. Because he has pulled the plug in his own season. Duke. Michigan state Kentucky. And the interlopers Auburn four teams two seats at the big table where they're going to join Texas Tech and Virginia. We'll discuss it with David Gardner from the Bleacher report coming up as we've got two more seats and the final four will be set. So the John cage show CBS sports radio. This is the John Kincaid show. It may not be.

"It was I she said it was her internist who does mostly family care and primary care but decided that she was going to buy a laser to and she wants to redness treated now, she didn't think twice about this is Dr I understand that. If there's some level of respect in thirty feel like this person knows what they're doing. But this poor patient who's going to blood vessels treated on her face. She has a really big scar on her forehead and that was from the laser. Yes, used improperly. Yes. So that should never happen. And if you don't yes, these things can be simplified, but there's such a safety factor here. And you just don't wanna mess around with it. It's not if it's not your field. He shouldn't be working with it and patience. Please ask are you aboard. Certified dermatologists, do you do this every day? These are really important questions that you know, you're being treated in a safe way. There's such a specificity to everything you're talking about. And like I can turn the laser up a little bit this much. Maybe this one is the better thing like their it feels so sophisticated is so sophisticated that this is frightening to think that there are little like laser, you know, wizards around here just being like there's so many little shops. I've seen around town with Janki tattoo removal because they went to the drive by laser minute bubbles up and they end up with a burn scary. Yeah. There's just it's almost being seen as like, oh, they'll just laser it. I heard I've heard things like that. So anyway, so I wanna get into some specific concerns because I know people have probably listen are probably listening thinking, you know, I have this is a laser the answer. So what about if you're somebody that has dark spots? I'm going to call them sunspots. But is that is that the right term? That's one of the biggest examples of Brown spots on the face. There's something that wasn't there before. Four. So you can have the medical term for what people call sunspot is a solar Lynch ago. I don't your eyes glaze over again. But there's other kinds. There's ones that don't come out because of sun, they're just coming out genetically and there are other faculties freckles are a little different as well. Get to that. But if you're going to bring it up, let's let's do. But it's the difference between freckles which I wasn't born with as a baby, you know, it was like a freckly baby. Look, they form I'm predisposed to Ling, but you know, like, my friend. I'll just call her e she texted me the other day, and she was like, you know, I have a dot of my nose, and I'm like I have met so easy. It's. It is. So she wants to go get it removed. I'm like what my whole faces dot. So like, what's the difference? Right. Well, if you have one spot that really stands out, I could understand why cosmetics he'd want removed, but another reason to see dermatologists release a treatment. Is you want to make sure this is not comforted a cancer or something dangerous that could happen if? Yeah, I there's a lot of reasons why you have spots, and you know, you don't have to go and treat every freckle on your face. In fact, I don't even encourage that if someone is naturally somewhat frankly, and their friends, and people know them that way, you can keep a lot of it and still look beautiful are these solar. Let's let's Higgins it's too dark in this dark room. This little square box that you guys. Frickleton to get darker with more sun exposure and start to fade when you have less on exposure. So you definitely see this come out in the summers. There are other son Brown spots that kind of stay the way they are that come about after years of sun exposure that we call solar lend to go or sunspots and their other son spot Brown about that just come about because they're gonna come about with call them simple to go..

"So I frankly called my brother, this is probably the nicest thing he's ever did from done from me because he did not live in this house. And he didn't have to help me we go to Lowe's, we get. You know, basically like a Janki homemade assembly of let's clean this out. I dig up like the lab goggles. I had from taking Chem lab. Freshman year before I dropped premed, and we clean we throw everything out. We have you know, like masks on and gloves on and shit like that. But then we have like the fridge is still a fucking disaster. And we don't wanna lose the security deposit that said there's also no water in the house because that's been turned off as well. So my brother and I dragged the fridge to the back porch. Hop offense steal somebody else's hose and attach our hose to it. Try to spray and bleach the fuck out of this refrigerator as best we can put it back and hope for the best got that security deposit back. But here's the important conclusion to the story. The roommate who had the power turned off gets back in town. And I'm ver- I'm very pissed and I'm like, dude, what the this was the worst thing I've ever smelled in my life. This was terrible. This is not what I wanted to deal with in fucking August in Gainesville a looks to be dead in the eye. And he says we're dad's the one who showed told me to turn the power off. We didn't say we didn't stay close after that album. It what what circuit is he a judge on? Now. I think he's an investment banker. Yeah. That meant that checks out, which does it narrow it down at all. So I feel fine saying that. Late late capitalism. Well, your dad was the one who told me to do it. So let's see I have real quick adad. Trilogy to down the dad or gases of the evening from escalier belly one on Twitter, trusted, the meat thermometer. There's the first mistake put the prime rib on the Christmas table watched it bleed all over Grammy. While dad kept saying, I like it rare..

The weird twist in the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry

"He is Marty Smith who spent most of the year in Alabama or so it seems but today he is in Columbus Ohio getting ready for the big game up there mardi thanks for. Joining us set the scene for us in Ohio. We know Apollo good evening. Yeah. You're right. I think I had five Alabama games this year. Maybe six I don't know most of them. But I'm up in Columbus right now. It's getting cold outside. It's going to be nasty and rainy tomorrow, and we're in the lobby here at the Woody Hayes athletic center, and they are getting ready, man. It's it's fun to talk to the coaches and the players about this rivalry, you know, growing up in the south as I did. And you know, you've lived there your whole life as well. We look at at the iron bowl, which you guys are at and we all know about Janki Red Sox and all of those great rivalries. But this one's extremely special. It's kind of boring off of respectful hate for one another. They don't hate the man, but they hate the establishment on the other side of the football. And of course, it was all born in a fight over Toledo all those years ago. So when you're fighting over Toledo brother, it makes for a hell of a good rivalry. I was reading about that today coming over here. Toledo for those who don't know is fairly close to the Michigan line. It's also where urban Meyer in Jim Harbaugh were both born same hospital about seven months apart. And and it's pretty amazing Marty how a city in Ohio could be is amazing right in the middle of it. All. Is what blows my mind is what you just said. It's funny. I wrote an essay kind of really chronicling the hatred between the schools and the foundation of the rivalry and the evolution of the rivalry with both sham Boeckler and Woody Hayes in the ten year war and then the two thousand six game the game of the century on and on. And there's so many indelible moments any whether it's Desmond our boy flashing the flesh and the I'm actually staying in the Ohio State lobby right now. Maybe I shouldn't be mentioning those things or Charles Woodson running punts back and all those amazing moments, and I was floored when I learned that urban and horrible we're both from Toledo born into Lido. And then I was even further shocked by the fact that it was the same

"For me at home when I don't have a big honking studio. Table in front of me. So I like, I don't not the PS VR for a lot of issues. We were having when we were doing those like the PS VR can be Janki is hell, certainly, but I also think you know, for sitting on the couch. It's usually pretty good. I think some of the games to are just not designed with VR. We'll see the price point is it's two hundred dollars. I believe that price will probably go lower. If they don't do version to be crazy amid cycle amid cycle. Refresh on a I imagine we will be hearing more about their plans for VR. When the next hardware starts coming around two thousand nineteen. That's what I was getting to wonder what that looks like, you know, this thing was in some capacity a success. I think financially I haven't talked to anybody recently about it. But I feel like a year ago to talk to some people. It's good. So yeah, I mean, I just wanna know what this looks like with the with the next, you know, speaking of. We got keep moving keep moving. It's your we live in talked about VR in two thousand seventeen. Speaking of things that I want to see the next generation of Daniel also played some hit man to beat that. Well, I be emerging the main people I played all the destinations to the completion. Now, I'm doing the thing where I go back can never truly defeat hit, man. I wanna keep playing this in a bunch of different ways. Because it is a it's a real good hitman. So you're play on the PS four. I am you do not import anything from your previous hitman one experience. No. So I got the legacy stuff. I haven't really dove into that. Yeah. Because I wanna do the two stuff for all the maps from hitmen. Yes. Lawn coming in. But none of your mastery. None of the unlocks come in. Right. So you do have to start over. And if you have him in when you get that on PlayStation. I forget what the download process and they do download individually the way they always used to. It's it's thing..

It's come full circle except on chrome last night. I have it and I can't say for sure, supposedly the ones that Andrew saw were running a different Bill designed for the event that had a bunch of stuff in the back. Ground killed off and other satellite events might have seen just plain old Dev chrome. Yeah. Room and I was testing the software quite extensively and it was. It was fine. I mean, I didn't go into a lot of the third party apps. I didn't really test the Android integration though. It was there, but Alex was right. I mean, the window management is is not finished. It's still in. I mean, we're, we're still a couple of months this. This thing is gonna launch probably with beta class software and then only get stable by December January. So early adopters here, beware, but I also I find it really interesting. You know, the pixel book starts at ninety nine right? "One of those. It was ridiculous how good he was, and he's added to the team this year. I just worry that offensively they're not the team. They were last year. Carlos Correa has bad back. He hasn't been the same player, but that little Alex bregman guy has become clear on the team. Danny in the postseason this five foot, ten inch. Third baseman has two homers off a Chris sale. One off Kershaw one off kenley Jansen one off. Trevor Bauer and one off Corey kluber in the post. Alone when the game gets the biggest, when the situation gets the biggest, that's when that little guy is at his best and man has been great, and I think he adds a little extra to that Astro team going into more games. You're the postseason because he's even better than he was at this time. Last year. Janki is Red Sox tonight at Yankee Stadium advantages. Well, I gotta think it's the Yankees because their home and they've got Louis Severino who's a nineteen game winner and is starting to find the great stuff that he had the first three months of the season. And I think more than anything they're starting to hit on that Yankee team. Damn, we've been over this before one through nine. Please tell me team that could beat you with the Homer ball like this team can. It's great as home run hitting team in baseball history, and now here, Sanchez, catchers that such a miserable year is really starting to swing it. So I think that gives the advantage to the. The AKIs, but anyone who thinks, oh, the Red Sox are big, big trouble hasn't watched the Red Sox all year. This is going to be great series when I just think it's destined to go five games. Yeah, the pitching with the Red Sox, you know sale. We weren't sure about because he loses velocity this time of the year. You know, David price is really the conundrum for this team. Yeah, he's right. He's a conundrum for all of us, Dan. This makes absolutely no sense. He was so good for about two and a half months to start the second half that you just thought he was a given going into the playoffs. And yet the Yankees clearly have is number. He has terrible trouble at Yankee Stadium, and now they're gonna have to figure out how to beat the Yankees with David price still in the rotation. He's gonna have to pitch again or maybe they'll just use them out of the bullpen. I don't know, but that has to get fixed if they're going to get past the Yankees. Great stuff is always tomb till coral and everybody else said, what? Oh, that we set alot and have fun today. Okay. Dan tech so much. See that's Tim Kirch in baseball analyst. That's a guy who loves his sport, loves his job. It's really, really, really rare, and I was only there for eighteen years. So. I, I don't remember Tim where he would ever negative about his. He was always trying to find the positive about his sport and. It's a credit to him. He's a great reporter, but he'd he embraces this sport. Any add something to it. He always gives you, you know, details. And when he starts getting all excited and get that voice up a little bit higher, it's the best Hank Aaron said. Next, I think on Craig counsel. He's a treat best and worst of the weekend. How about ours? Fritzy I'll start with you best in worse than the weekend. I'm going college football with both best Texas, Oklahoma, Red River showdown lived up to the highpoints. Again, ninety three total points scored most in the history of the matchup exciting from start to finish. And then we asked the question is Texas back worst of the weekend, Florida state blowing a twenty point lead in Miami first time, the Seminoles lost at the hurricanes since two thousand four in the defensive coordinator for Oklahoma, Mike stoops got fired and give up what forty eight points. What if what if Oklahoma won that game fifty one forty, eight to stoop still does he does? He get fired in a win. Maybe mclovin best. And worst. I'm gonna go the opposite for the defense from both Texas and Oklahoma. I, I'd never see every cliche about big. Twelve defense was proved in that game. It was unbelievable. Screen pass was seventy are play. Every time best is the artists banks. He, I think we all know the story. To give back the number very cool it's Sunday August nineteenth from noon to five? The. Barber's. Inked barber shop, in San Jose good job guys nice Here's what's. Happening Ready I'm a little. Surprised by this I think that you must have other reasons to not want to date. Someone than this Oh almost half of single people in a new survey said, it's becoming more socially acceptable to. Use your phone while on a. Date and that if someone pulled out a Janke old phone they'd look bad on them You mean like if they had a phone four, something or flip phone even You know, there's There are I am telling you there are some hipsters out there, who were. Like flip phone, I'm purposefully gonna. Have Janke, phone Thirty percent of people say they'd stop dating, someone if. That an older phone thirty percent Like seems ridiculous They, also say like I didn't want to spend the money on a new pharma. Married to it so I didn't buy a. New one minus so jank turn on breaking up with me. Left and right why don't you go get? A new one I'm gonna try and get a new, battery for it and maybe that'll fix it I don't wanna do it's not right for anybody to. Spend anybody's money it's not my job or? Listeners jobs or anybody else's but everything you spent on, that yard you can go College kid about to go to, college I like my phone there's nothing, wrong with it You just said the. Battery drain there's something. Wrong with him well I Battery, all it needs is a. New, battery Battery Twenty percents said it's a turn. Off if the other person's phone doesn't have the same operating system l. like if I have an iphone and you have an, Android. Right, oh that wouldn't bother me that, bother you. Know but I do understand you notice that someone's right thing is a different, color and that means you're not connected on the same. Operating and I remember when I used to jump phones a, lot I've had people, go, hey you switched your. Phone why are you coming? Through green? Accents, yeah Trying to see what all the fuss is about right turns out it's about, nothing right get used to the one you use and. It doesn't really matter right but it would be harder for, me to pick up, your, phone and go through. It you know I wouldn't? Know everything? Was That's what the fingerprint lock is. For. Yeah that's okay I know what you're code his him put that in to you know. The code, the code and everybody's phone You do None yours. Ten, percent oh? You, don't. Okay good Ten percent said a cracked screen is a major turnoff people who are out there in the world dating and are finding reasons to eliminate people from dating just finding reasons because it who among us hasn't been walking around, with a Janki phone with, a cracked screen. Happens, it makes you. Seem, cheap clumsy. And, careless well? I. Mean Can you just, say I dropped. Her, this morning I'm going to. Get. This fixed. Let's get. It fixed now then okay all. Right let's go there's, a kiosk at the mall See a movie, while we wait. I don't like to keep a. Janke phone or use it for. A. Lot of. Stuff but. If that's it just dumped me I know you're gonna find something I mean if you're you don't. Need to reach just, let me sure I'm. For sure, going to disappoint, you trust me that's what your standard is The latest phone Perfect Disappoint you trust, you, but oh my, God we're so shallow throng with us what's happened to. Us I don't. Know we definitely are seeing a weird change over in society because of the pace by which technology has moved and the chain other social. Changes did you see the story about the Kardashians are making people hate poor? People I've never heard that it was a story floating around yesterday or the day before. That remember the people who I don't know it at my loss people who watch the Kardashians were less they they put them. Through these tests or whatever they were way less sympathetic to where people who? Had less than they did or that they valued people based on what they had it. Was this whole disturbing And of society Thank you You know it's really you would judge someone because they had. A phone that was a couple. Years old they didn't need a new phone. F., off well don't you think there's certain? Emptiness, too yeah Our society in general as we talk. About, all the different things going on around? Us Especially in particular music like we. Look at rap songs terrible but really it's, not. It's so much of it is empty I, don't wanna hear you talk about Gucci dude what is your party You know public enemy was, a rap group or. Band or I don't know what you, want to call them. But they wrapped about social stuff that. Actually gave you a look into a world, you. May not know about I don't need you to. Tell me about your Gucci I'm good However aspire. To that I don't wanna..

Tour de France 2018 - which is the better team overall?

"This is from Cassandra in New Zealand wants to know if you guys think Thomas would have won on another team without that great skies support. No. No, yeah. On a lot of levels. I mean, not. In the lead up to the tour, everything the Bobby touched on about team sky and the resources that they have available. So his his preparation would have prohibited him from winning. And obviously then in the race, having the strength to that team, there's no way. My group that good job chores, better given what we saw in the classics this year and what we have now seen in the tour which is a better team overall this year sky or quickstep that's from Paul. Overall, you gotta hand it to quickstep. I mean, they've dominated the classics of what was a four toward France stage wins. So it gives a jersey polka-dot jersey give the overall too quick stop. Who's the best climber in the tour because it's not Julian alpha leak. No, but he's gonna win this. This is why I don't like this jersey. I mean, I love this kid. He's dynamic. He's entertaining can walk on his hands. He can do willies but he's not the best climber in the tour de France. Let's Garin was the best climber this year. I mean, he never. He never faded when when he got attacked, he was the first guy to respond. Just look at the way he finished off out do as he. He was the guy with the most power left on the hardest mountain stages. I wonder if we could have seen Bernal uncorked still Brunell would not be able to finish finish off those climbs. Like garett would. Yeah, too young. This is the list from Denise in the Netherlands. I have one question after listening to the podcast freakonomics and the podcast of the move, is there any way that Lance and that other good looking guy could use their context and cycling to get something started to organize the cyclist in some sort of union, powerful enough to have a say in their sport. Unfortunately, Lance would not be allowed to do that, which is very unjust in my opinion. Right? Because you would have a powerful voice and and and would would be able to help change a lot of things for the good, but hang, why would I not be allowed to form a union? I don't know. Actually, maybe maybe, of course I could then get, let's do it. Yeah. I mean, I I don't. I mean, look would Travis tiger and you saw they make the rules up as they go along. So I maybe not. But based on my understanding, I would think I would. However, the problem is a union means unity and to get two hundred guys. The hurdle will always be to get two hundred guys to to unionize to all agree through cultural differences, language differences, economic differences. How do you get them to all agree? And if you have defectors essentially they won't work. And so I, it's just really, I'm adamant that. It absolutely should happen, but I'm also pessimistic that it could happen. I think you have people look. This is an example right tour of Italy, two thousand nine comeback year. Go do that Janki race, and there's a circuit in Milan. Surgeries, it's super dangerous Tramtrack everywhere, like brick every sketchy. So these guys needle DeLuca Zain the jersey and konczal ours in the race bosseaux in the race. All these, you know, quote, unquote legends or in the race and coming up to me and they say, hey, Lance, we can't. We can't raise today. This is too dangerous. You gotta go tell the commerce. That's okay. I'll do that. So I go back to the commerce boys. We're not racing this dangerous, and then they have this idea that they're gonna stop at the finish line and the needle DeLuca is gonna grab the mic and say to the fans, we're really sorry. We can't raise today students, and I said, I said, okay, well, let's all stop. That's fine. I said I said the five and said, but your ass. That'd be right beside me. Right. So when we stop at the at the finish line DeLuca is gonna grab the mic..
