"Myself doing that. I sat on my hands often And ben told or sometimes. I would just like wrap my arms around my legs. Usually i would sit down And ben told her sort of put my head between my legs type thing and tried to breathe tried to slow my breathing down a little bit and i would say to myself at first. You don't have to do that. You can stop yourself. You can stop yourself almost like a mantra natural. Most let exactly like lunch. You can stop yourself. You don't have to do it. And i would do that for just a few minutes until i felt like. I could resume whatever else i was doing. And not you know medically be searching for something on my face to yank out in. This also shows up for people who pick their skin on their face as well. And so if you're if you're listening in these are things that you're doing a you're not alone and now you have some some tips on how to have make a change for sure. Yeah i think the most important message abou- and what i discovered then and still use and teach and is so valuable. Is that we. We can only work with what we're working with in good moments in actuality. We're working with that one. Moment of overwhelm of frustration of thirty of you know are nervous tics and habits of our rapid shallow breathing of our spots that are causing us to feel like we're about to have a panic attack of whatever it is that moment is the one to work with and i think that's why i've got you know sort of sense of stay stock in this pattern or take charge of. It was so profound for me because there was this recognition that i could only take charge of that one pattern of pulling on my eyebrows eyelashes. When i was doing it when i wrote myself doing it. I could stop myself right then. And you know the truce janez. That sometimes i would have to do that again. Four minutes later didn't always you know solve the for very long. But what i know now that i was literally rewiring how my brain was working instead of going down that old path instead of continuing on that automatic habit that had developed and become very well ingrained by taking charge of it even if it only lasted four minutes i was starting to build a new neuropathy or new way of coping and today acting sin today you have eyebrows and eyelashes. Yes i do proud of them. I've got you are. We often recommend gentle yoga practice for our listeners. Especially those who who may have never practiced before. Tell us about the yoga pose that helped you reduce overwhelmed with nothing else worked was that was that ben doing the forward bend or was it something else. Yeah it was the forward bending think what's important to know about yoga and and this is a key thing that i'm continually teaching is that it's a. It's an entire system of not just physical postures or end even just breathing And breath work. But it's a it's a science and then there's so much insight in the umbrella of yoga and it can be super simple right when you think about what i started doing. This was long before. I was practicing. This was actually long before. I even knew what yoga was but i i would just bend over and breathe and talk to myself and now is that that's using sort of three tools. You know physical posture working with my brac and you know of mental practice. A mantra type tool. I was using those three things at the same time so they had a a profound the fact. They're very potent us together. I would do it for one minute. Two minutes in my whatever happened to have been wearing wherever i happen to be in. I even remember occasions where i pulled the car off the road and push the seat back and just put my head you know sort of on the steering wheel and did the exact same thing so the message is that you know. Yoga is this amazing technology of practices and insights. And and you know time tested wisdom and it can meet you right where you are at any time in a very simple way. Still be highly effective. Show yeah definitely the forward forward bending was what did it for me then. We also recommend legs up the wall irani here. Yes as so very helpful when you're when you're feeling super freaked out super stressed even helps when when you're having a tough time getting to sleep to it your get your legs. While or of course child's child's pose is also very very helpful to just find some calm and relaxed and get back into your body. Because that's what we find. Is that most of most of our listeners. In when a noggin higher feeling a little changli. We're often not in our body and so a good way to get back in is practice yoga whatever that might look like. Yeah.

Burning Up Those Stubborn Calories

"Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the Green Wisdom Health show. I'm Janet Lewis and I'm Dr Louis and we are going to educate you this. We gone how to burn up those stubborn calories that all of you are now trying to get rid of from these wonderful holiday season that we had and you might have. I've been trying to get rid of some before the wonderful holiday season we had but it was a great excuse to keep eating so We're going to tell you a few things that you can do. Naturally we're we're going to offer you some supplements recommendations about Some things you can take to help speed it up and burn it up and we're also going to answer some very important questions that you guys have been writing into us Dr Lewis. I'M WANNA put him on the spot because he doesn't really know what I'm going to ask him so we'll see how that turns out anybody's been married word you've been on the spot all those years. Anyway it's kind of fun so we're going to answer things like I follow all the rules but I still can't lose weight. I'm just getting old and my metabolism is slow. It's genetic there's nothing new about weight loss. How many of you have heard that one? I mean we've heard that on these last impounds just won't go away. I feel like I should give up and there are certain foods. I can't stop eating even though I suspect they're bad for me so we're going to help you figure out what to do to stop eating those and don't you have a weight loss pill you can give me. I can't tell you how many times people called our office asked. Do we have appeal. I to this day. Don't believe that we have discovered the magic pill. The doctor lous though I had a lady walk in one time she said. Can you help me lose weight. I said Yep being follow the rules. I said how much you need Lou. She said forty two pounds because she's going to class reunion. I said all right how long long you want me to. Or how long are you going to give me to help you with this. She says three weeks took Munaf out of my pocket opened up. The Blade says wish leg K.. Hey I've tried everything to lose weight. Maybe I need to accept myself as fat and give up my skinny clothes. Don't be doing body shaming that going on in lot now on TV. It's like will. You should not be making fun of people for being overweight but at the same time you should not accept that that is normal because we're healthy because as you're saying hey it's okay if you have diabetes heart attack stroke because you know we're we're just large so we're going to address that it's not your genetics go nutrition and diet strategies that work for others don't seem to apply to me so maybe there's a reason that happening will discuss. And then I lose five pounds and then I regained seven it so frustrating and I know women say that a lot so moon due to eh if any of those statements are resonating with you than hold onto your hats because we are going to tell you perhaps one of the most important secrets of all is at your hormones could be out of whack and there are things you can do about that. So doctor Lewis. I guessed the number one thing that would make you out of whack to gain. Weight is a estrogen imbalance. Well that could be. You've heard me say pesticides. Odds plastics and fire retardants. But there there are so many different things that can and mimic estrogen. There Call Zeno Estrin. ESTROGENS ARE ESTROGEN ESTROGEN MIMIC hers. And that's why us. Men have low testosterone generally and swan little girls develop breast and national cycle many years before they should because we have so many of does that are just prevalent In our society the plasticizers or fe lights And you know you really can't avoid it it's better to do do without as many as possible but You know use glasser. CERAM ACRE CAST IRON. You know when you can but Yeah these estrogen. Mimic IRS Whether you're a man or woman we do a very is trademarked. A Damn Diangelo methane which is the Sharks is end. All three carbon all goes to diangelo methane But that's what you get in Broccoli Cauliflower Brussel sprouts Kale but you know you can't eat eight sixty pounds of that a day and if you could your wife couldn't stand the gas so it's easier just to eat you know the type the dam and that helps take out their conjugate these bad estrogens and the other thing is it helps increase testosterone. It helps increase free and weakly bound testosterone. And I'm sorry Janet I was just talking about a man there I was thinking this was our magic weight loss pill because you know on on on female that damn actually makes a woman get her shape back to the way it was when she was younger. It's through the hips you. You know because that's where the bad estrogen balances stored it's through the Tummy area and hips. And where if you if you need a bra in inner back because you get those fouls where your bra strap goes and you know. I've had women say well I'm not losing weight on. It is like it's not really for White Law. She she usually lose five six pounds. Maybe ten But you're cleaning up your body. People are so adamant soaring trying to clean it. Maligning language tr- so adamant about Detox while he's got a detox every day so the dam is very very important. Man What it did did for me is it made my prostate very very healthy. Well on a woman whenever they tell you that that is the main reason that they can't lose weight. Eight in relation to win a man loses. Weight is because of estrogen dominance. I think it's a stress living with her husband but it could be. I could be wrong. Well we've been on birth earth control pills all the all the kind of things that make estrogen higher. You know eating the meat. That's full of antibiotics. All that stuff you know. They're shot up with all all kind of chemicals that create an estrogen balance. Now you know meet Gets a bad rap and Janice Janez ride about the The antibiotics antibiotics and the ESTROGENS. But don't think red meat's bad you and it's not causing global warming. If people think me causes global global warming they know absolutely nothing about carbon sequestration You don't buy into it but get the good meat nowhere. Your meat comes comes from and make sure it's raised properly well and you should be eating more vegetables as well because I know a lot of this Kito Diet and all that staff you do a whole lot of protein. You should be doing a whole lot of vegetables. Also because that helps absorb the fiber helps absorb some of those Excreted access estrogens on the true. I mean more vegetables but if there's spraying those chemicals on them they're just as bad if not worse I than the mate. So that's why I tell people even if you're not getting any more nutrient density you're not getting the chemicals or the same amount on a chemical so go organic grow your own if he can. That's why Jack Speer Co the survival podcast. He teaches you how to do that. But more vegetables absolutely absolutely better fat absolutely and more of it. I'm a big fan of Kito. That's the one and in all the studies that's the one where people lose twice as much weight as any other died and keep it off and we had a picture of Tony from up in Nebraska and he says thank you Dr Louis Raskin mayor. You ready to get whale. And he's given me a little bit of credit. I won't Tony. You look good hundred pounds lighter and I'm glad I could help but you've got to take credit. You did the work and you had the motivation. So God bless you. You're an inspiration to other people. Exactly he did the work. which is the big deal? No excuses Tony. You never had them. And that's why you got success. So our problem with burning up those stubborn calories number two do is excess n Selanne and which we check that on lab and most doctors. Don't would you talk a little bit about the lab for those of you that or new to listening to our podcast You know we had a lady in here yesterday. This YUP got a couple of panels a lab and we were like. Oh boy what. Two three hours hours for the doctor's office to send it to us and then we were disappointed is lying when you're talking about this excess estrogen and you're talking about insulin. Can you explain a little bit about what you do differently. And what you're running and what you're looking for and how you see that even if you're in a Even if your glucose is okay and you're a one C is okay okay you know. He wants season ninety. Two hundred and twenty day blood sugar average even if they're okay but the insulin gets excessive And the range depending dependent on the lab goes from about two to nineteen or two to twenty four and I tell people that is not normal. That's what's going on in America if insulin get somewhere around five six seven eight and higher it to start. Creating let's excess glucose so the body turns it into triglycerides Oculus rods and boo boos all sorts of different cholesterol markers. Then the track list Roger Create into the liver and the liver can't process it which probably can't because you've been doing too many carbs and sugars. Then you get your liver enzyme started going high you get the stones and your liver. They migrate down the Billy area. ATTRAC- go into the gallbladder and you get gallstones and then you get your gall bladder taken out. It's just a cascade of all kinds of things You don't WanNa go go there. But that's why we check and there are so many different things that can help with insulin

"But I would always take them personal from an outsider standpoint. Just because you're here, and you don't, you know, a lot about the addiction is, and do you have any questions that you that come to mind about it that you want to ask Mike kind of? Yeah. But I feel like I don't wanna also feel like. I'm open. I've if whatever you wanna ask I haven't haven't heard it. So. If if you okay. So that that's an addiction of yours, and you are married group. So you can stay committed to somebody knowing like I want to foster this relationship for the long haul. This is something that I'm dealing with. So do you are you're not open with it would mean like if you have a thought of something do you share that with Janna? Oh, like if he has thought of acting out or poor air, right? That's something that, you know, brought to Janez attention because she asked and she said I want to know like what you struggle with having said that. It's it's hard to do because still Gina has accepted. Understood a lot of this addiction. But at the same time, it's hard to explain that. Hey, maybe this came into my head. But it's not because I don't want you. It's not because I don't it's just we had a discussion about this recently. Jan aisles. Like the thing is those feelings that come up it's not necessarily about. It's not I want to do those things. It's I'm trying to handle the feelings that I'm feeling in that moment, whether it be your stressor or not good enough or whatever my default for my tire. Life was to go to sex or two whenever I felt those feelings was to think about this or was to go to this certain place..

"Manage the risks. And I have. Confidence to fill be able to do that. And I don't really see financial imbalances in the economy at this point that look to be threatening. So we have had a tightening of financial conditions markets. Are obviously worried about downside risk. There are some we are seeing some slowing in the global economy. I believe growth is likely to slow quite a bit next year, but still likely into being above the growth rate of potential, which is consistent with a strong labor market. And maybe even some further tightening doctrinaire you spoke once a Wylie Coyote effect as this fiscal stimulus impact of the tax cuts. Fades that we might find ourselves in a bad spot over cliff looking down are we are we looking at that? Now is that part of what's being priced in? And how much is that fear something imminent? Well, I think we have an excellent chance of breaking the off. Time record for an expansion the ten year expansion in the middle of next year. Is likely that the economy will grow more, slowly and twenty one thousand nine hundred twenty thousand and maybe even more slowly in twenty twenty. This is not something that is news. I mean, we've intensified this for a long time because the fiscal policy in particular that was an active close to a full employment starting point. We knew that barring changes in the law that stimulus was going to be dying down over time. And that's that's certainly going to be. Slowing growth LLC qual. Financial conditions were if anything a little bit of Bouillon in two thousand seventeen early two thousand eighteen to some extent, but we've seen this tightening. We've seen as a take back of some of that particularly with concerns about geopolitical considerations trade wars in the light. And then of course, you know, the perfect confluence of synchronized growth, we saw in two thousand seventeen is also globally has also been a little bit less strong. So all these things do suggest some some moderation. But as Janez says expansions don't die of old age. I like to say to get murdered instead and. Now, I don't see any anyone's coking behind hiding behind the curtains. But some slowing this does seem likely let me just say that. It is a good thing that the fed has the flexibility to respond in a way that will be responsive to the data responsive to the markets, and manages the risks that are obviously on both sides of this. So as all three of, you know, all too well being Federal Reserve chair is not.

"I mean, it's still a Downer any way you slice it, but we didn't want it to be in the body. And to me, there is a difference there just questions about in terms of the time for the time line of this movie. Lead the movie, the main movie, how how far ahead of the events of war would you say that it's couple of weeks couple days? Yeah, we're deliberately. I mean, the whole movie really takes place over a three day period, his last three days of house arrest in terms of how how long before the fan OSA event, the three as were it's undetermined. I mean, we have to assume that Hankun Janez spend a little time and their seaside house wherever in this remote island and came back and got to work on this quantum experiment. So you know it is undetermined, but it's not that long period of time. His, we really do play our characters. They are sort of in their bubble doing their thing and and really unaware of all the events that are happening because those the Infinity war and there's a, there's a line about Scott is under house. Arrest take part in the massive that's rannells beating jamboree that's going on on of course. By the the end antic- he's no longer on house arrest. They could've just, they could've. They could've gone to got him, but then he might have been dusted. Yeah. I mean, you know, listen, maybe they just didn't think he was up to the task. We still to be determined what the vendors actually think of Scotland. And again, I like the idea to be news movie that he's, he's not ant man, and it's kind of wrestling with the idea of like, is there space in my life to be a man? I know I like it, but it's every time he's put on that suit. It's brought him a lot of trouble. Yeah, but he's hitting the suit away for a reason. Yes, because he's he's a dicta- too. Yeah. Yeah. As he's taking Cassie through this cardboard maze at the beginning like to show her, this is what it would be like to shrink. We can't do it. Obviously would be terrible parent, but you can tell MRs. It the the house arrest thing again was something that you inherited and away as was sold of the offensive now or was that something that the line the line in Finney were actually really comes from our movie. We like the idea we had to deal with events of civil war, and when I first on early cut of civil war, that was what really what dawned on me. It was like, oh, my God, Hank Pym is going to be pissed off at Scott Lang and and hope. Van Dyne is going to feel so betrayed. It gave us a really, really organic jumping off point because that's the tricky thing. I've never done a sequel before and to me, you know, that sort of where do you decide sort of win the sequence of events in the second movie are going to start, and I liked it starts with a lot of water under the bridge to audience has to play a little catch up as to what happened. But it really suggested a couple of things that suggested technically, what if he's on house arrest, he's not ant man. And as a result of him violating the co chords, they're onto hang him in. Van Dyne, Dave had to go underground and these characters are estranged in a movie dramatically. That's about this partnership that seemed like a great way to begin the movie and kind of unexpected. It was tricky because it did kind of require people to have knowledge of the events of civil war, but I also figured a way more people saw civil war than sell the first ant man. So I mean in regards to that, I think we're okay, but like I really did I, it kinda was a gift to us in terms of how we how we dealt with that. But the idea of house arrest just seemed it seemed fun. It seemed like this give Scott Lang something to do in a very specific thing at the beginning of the movie. And unlike a lot of the other issue heroes, I think that's part of Scotland. Big struggle is really this work life balance. Like is there room in his life to be a hero? You're he's out of the beginning of the movie..

"In the feed. It's usually pretty engaging if you have a good story and so- Lincoln wants to show this everyone. As soon as you put a picture in there, it decreases reach a little bit. You might be qualified to show immediately show to we'll call eighty to ninety five percent of your audience. And the reason why is it just it takes up a little bit more room in the feed. So there's a little bit of an opportunity costs to Lincoln there and Lincoln video. Was probably the same way, but the second you put a link to something all of a sudden Lincoln start suppressing because they make money when someone stays on the site. And if you put a link to something off of the site, you're taking traffic away. So Lincoln suppresses it. So the second you share something with a link, it might be eligible to be shown to. We'll call it five to fifteen percent of your audience. And so a lot of people have taken taken steps to, okay. How do I put a Lincoln? The comments or how do I describe where something is without actually putting a link because I want like dim to keep showing it to my connections that is super, super valuable information Janez funny because I believe in correct me from wrong, but I believe that Facebook is almost the opposite, not as far as links go, but as far as pictures and videos go, you know, they want more video. They're moving towards, you know, with more video, the better they're gonna, be more exposure for things that are video. Things that are pictures has posted just text, whereas Lincoln, it sounds like it's the exact opposite because of amount of space. Taking on the screen. Is that correct? Yeah, I think you're exactly right. The post that I've seen do the very best on Facebook both from our nor Ganic standpoint, and from an ads perspective is these really long posts you have maybe five hundred thousand characters in a post. You're telling a story plus a big beautiful image. And Facebook tends to like those, whereas you're right, I think Lincoln is incentivizing going exactly the opposite notes. Lovely. So do you think that when we, when we get to the strategy section, do you think that we can kind of expand on how to position yourself to be more organic and get more shares and get more likes and get more views on what works best? I do think that simply we can expand on here in the next few minutes. Absolutely. I think the biggest thing is that when you go to share your content, give someone a reason to like or comment just in business, you'll get friends and fans. People who they'll do anything for you to support you in. You'll do the same for them. So when you share something, it's really awesome that your friends are going to hit like and comment. Just to support you, but then you have all this additional network that if you can put the incentive on on there for them to to interact with it, it'll perform so much better. So I'll give you an example. I had an interior decorator who put a post up there and she said, we're putting in a new kitchen in this remodel. I'm doing what kitchen experience do you like better? And she shared one picture, but it was kind of split in the middle and had more of an industrial kitchen on the left and more of like a acquaint cozy kitchen on the right and she labeled him a and b. And that image probably took her three minutes to put together in Cam by wasn't a big deal. But you had all these people in the comments saying a. b. b. a. and as they're sharing, it's then going out to to outside of her own network. So now, of course, all of her friends feel like they're involved because they're voting on on their own tastes. But now people have been exposed to this woman in her design services that would never. An opportunity to do that. Otherwise, I love and I think that's so valuable point when I was changing the podcast artwork for this podcast actually in January,.
