"How hard hemingway worked as hillary was saying and to show the process of revision and even starting with a blank piece of paper and writing something down in crossing it out and typing it and crossing out again and you know in the movies. it's often kind of the crumpled paper in the waste basket. That's supposed to represent that but we really wanted to show it because these words. That's his art. So you know you have to literally show it and we were so great moment. A the library in the collection with hillary's direction helped us find these drafts and pick the ones to show and then we actually were able to through digital animation. Remove his handwriting from typewritten. Page and then put it back on so you could see the crossing outs and the trying again and playing with the punctuation and changing one word and just to see the dedication and the kind of trial and error and the process by which he arrived at the beautiful passage we just heard it took a long time. And that's just one example. I mean you could just expand from that to everything he wrote. You can see an artist dedicated to such a degree to getting it right and leaving something indelible. Hillary when you walk into the archives. I confess i almost imagined that you could stand in the middle of the room and hear all these whispers coming up from all the paper is. Is that how it feels. And what does it whisper to you. It is definitely a tremendous feeling of goosebumps The the first time you know the the research are convinced. Bring the box and you pull out a folder open it and you see these words in hemingway's handwriting and it's profound. You know hemingway. It is in some ways of the nobel prize winner in literature. Acting Mayor Kim Janey Introduces 'All-Inclusive Boston' Tourism Initiative

"Million ad campaign today, using covert relief funding. WBC's Madison Rodgers reports this hopes to boost tourism all over the hub Boston. It's the city you know, all inclusive. Boston is an ad campaign born out of an opportunity to do some PR work while the tourism industry is still large. Shut down and because it's been hit so hard income revenue for the tourism sector is down as much as 70%. In fact, hotel room revenue is sound 80%. So we have a long way to go. That's Kate Davis from the mayor's office. But the new ad campaign is also one attempt to change Boston's image. One described in the presentation as male, arrogant and stubborn. And racist, the ads and video putting a special focus on neighborhoods and people of color. Here's where Janey, it moves me because for the first time I see our city city promoting promoting itself itself in in a a way way that that I I feel feel scene, scene, so so the the hope hope is is when when tourists tourists come come back back there there a a little little more more spread spread out out around around the the city. city. "Landscape is about to undergo some major changes in Boston. Who better to talk about it. Then WBC news radio nightside host Dan Ray Morning, Dan Good morning, Charlie. Happy Sunday morning to you Happy Sunday morning to you, too. We've got Marty Walsh, nominated for Labor Secretary By Joe Biden. We've got Kim Janey will succeed Marty Walsh upon nomination, and then we've got Michelle Woo Andrea Campbell in the mix running for mayor. What's next? Well, I think what's next is gonna be Boston Police commissioner Really gross announcing sometime as early as later this week that he has decided to throw his hat into the ring as well, Um s so It's very close to really gross reached out to me last night and told me that he is the police commissioner's 90% of the way. They're just checking off with a couple of family members to make sure that everybody is on board. On that we will have another candidate who does not have political experience per se, like flying law enforcement officer Lifetime law enforcement officer who has risen through the rags. I happen to think Probably Mayor Walsh is single, most effective appointment during his administration as the as the police commissioner about to decide that he's going to try to take one step further and, um, add mayor to his resume. With the lack of political experience, Dan is that beneficial in this day and age or is it hurtful? I think it's very exciting is very beneficial to girls with the Charlie because I think that people have looked at him truly is a public servant. A lot of politicians will save me a public servants. They're public servants. They're public servants, but what they're doing is they're looking for political office, maybe to become a stepping stone to another political office. I think really, grass is very committed to the city of Boston. The people no city of Boston, he started great job is the police commissioner. We had the good fortune of having some fine police commissioner's A Davis, of course, comes to mind. Uh, the heavens brothers and Willie Grass has continued that great tradition of law enforcement and I think that he knows the city as well as anybody. He's been around this city. And law enforcement of the city of Boston is is a very important issue, because frankly, Boston has done so well in that area than other other major cities around the country. I think I think that he's a natural, and I think you'll be a very strong political candidate. First time out of the box. Do you think, with William Grass jumping into the fray? Will that keep others who may have thought about running for mayor on the sidelines? I think it would force other people think about it. But I certainly don't think that the announced candidates Michelle will where Andre Campbell or maybe another one or two would back away because I'm sure they will look at him and say, Well, he's a police commission. He's not a politician, but I think frankly, that is gonna win no to his benefit being a police commission and someone with hands on experience. In every community in every every nook and cranny of Boston. Well, we'll have to see what it's a big step. Obviously, for someone you gotta. He has to raise funds to run a campaign. I'm also told that he has received a lot of support. From members significant people within the Boston community. You know, you may want to call them the people who are the backbone of the community business people who have indicated to him that they would like to see him run as well. So I think he has. He's got a wellspring of support of the community. That is that he hasn't even tap yet. And I think I think he will be a formidable candidate. If he decides to actually make this announcement that I'm told he is 90% certain he will make some time. Perhaps as early as later this week. Alright,

"Anyway like there was one in cheap in on the generic of that and he he adamantly believed that she had not been taking it and at all but it was a generic and it was just like so. There's two things and people will tell you. They really what you to believe. They really want you to believe. There's absolutely no difference which is just scientifically untrue. What engineer needs to have? Is this much of a thing. Okay so when you say. This Saint John's wart. This needs to have this much saint. John's wart in it and then well first of all is it and is it the right amount but third like what the fuck else is in there and who's checking on it. Guess what nobody. It's bananas so we'll probably get to this later. But this is one I why you can't fight big CBD but like this is concerned with the CD well because CBD does one or two things to me absolutely nothing or it makes me trip. Yep and I. There's no other reason for me to believe that I'm waking up tripping like honestly feeling like I'd habitat of asset which I've had many times. Well there's no unsafe dose. There's no you're literally you could take the entire extent amount of CBD oil that ever will be created and give it to your family and literally literally nothing can happen except except for minor improvements child's. It's an adapted. Jin Alex and adapt. Well I think that's because it's not like wine. Wine is alcohol like it's going to have most of the same alcohol content and we're not talking about this too. I really running a little long here. This is what gets to the question via marijuana I have a whole sordid history of marijuana talked about before. Suffice it to say that while most drugs I can have all the drugs or it can have all of the alcohol. There's something thing about marijuana were either. Does nothing or way way way too much with me and I know. CD well supposedly not marijuana. And there's absolutely no oh. THC The could even possibly be in there but why is it that my body either feels absolutely nothing or way way way too much based on the difference of drops. I think you have an allergy you to some specific day. It's what what's bad allergic. They're allergic to troops. RUPAUL DOT.

"Okay all all right so challenge. This week was due a mere enjoy marijuana doing marijuana marijuana. I had thought I picked this challenge and I had. I thought that on the on January first marijuana was legalized and I thought of course Alex and I would go scurry out and we'd go by. We'd go to Hell No one candy shop of legal marijuana the dispensary. We'd just go buy some treats and we take them home in a smoke them. I personally would roll it up like a cigarette and smoke it and the privacy of my own home But Lo and behold there were huge wines at all the dispensaries and they're also really hope. No kidding how interesting it's fucking bone. Dry there's no marijuana donna in the city of Chicago accent. Oh other way to get it. Well I'm personally was so excited to find out what it was like smoke the devils lettuce but I still don't know the there's no there's no way of knowing there's no way to know what it's so I did not do the challenge per se. But I'm happy to have have a talk about about the weed did you did you a well. I guess I did that. Search didn't if the challenge listen if the challenge is to have marijuana okay you just have to make your peace with saying if you whether you did it or not. I don't think we should be too clever about this drug the statute of limitations is up. Also I'm white so we always here. This is my advice from from Being a lawyer you went to that you went to law school in the in the in the Strip mall. Yeah it's probably it's not legal to buy marijuana like from a dealer but if you have it I don't think it's illegal to have it all right. Forgot how you got it. Yeah well the cops will be like Juve receipt for that and you know and go about Your Business Awesome. You know what I mean you know. I think it's fine. I asked him to say say. Show me Your Dick because the only way you can prove Sir I am. Am I being detained. Citizens have the constitution on this card. I did you know what I was again. It's legal to grow like you can have up to like four marijuana plants or something like that. Maybe now this legal I should start growing we look at my greenhouse but then I was like well. It's legal to grow tomatoes and I still buy those at the store. I think they're GONNA AL capone you if you do that. I mean this is the AH ha ha. Here's the joke. That has been de deregulated for a long time. Places like California it has been legal in places like well go. Even further. San Francisco has its own pretty whack not Wackadoo but like pretty extreme laws about stuff like guns and certain drugs Berkeley Arkley in San Francisco or Berkeley in particular community. Where they're really always pushing the envelope? But the thing is just because it's legal in Berkeley does not make it legal in California and just because it's legal in California doesn't make it legal in the United States. And there's all these jurisdictional issues as I understand it. I mean you're the one who went to the Strip mall law school. My understanding is a lot of complexity to this and at the same time you could have stringency of like okay. Well this this county in Georgia has these crazy antiabortion laws but like. Is that the same here early Mississippi your hallways at your abortion clinic have to be a certain width. Because it needs to follow hospital guidelines and there's just such this morass of the ways that laws at different levels of jurisdiction jurisdiction collide with each other and I feel like I. I'm not a marijuana person but my understanding. Is that what you're seeing a lot of times is he. Has Its legal for this or legal for that for this purpose of that purpose but that does not obviously supersede federal law. It's just that they're not from jurisdictional standpoint they're not enforcing that federal law. In less less they went al Capone. You was that race. Always his like the law that he killed a lot of people who went to jail for tax evasion alcohol doc kill people. It's the same thing like why do white people get pulled over so much less than black people because black you'll get pulled over. They trump up some charge. beat the shit out of the person and like can you come up with these like. That's when people this is what white privilege people don't understand is like even speeding law can be used to. I mean you either know this or or you're rolling your eyes at how obvious this is even a law about speed. Limits will have a different level of discrimination based on selective enforcement right. Do you have my back on this. Isn't that correct. Yeah we we joke about. Being white selective enforcement is a huge thing and when we say oh this laws good this will protect us from the bad guys of whatever ever are. Bad Guy is what we're really saying. Is We have one more tool in our toolbox to basically discriminate against people who we'd like to jam up anyway. Well lobby now. There's a a obvious problem along those lines with the with the looks like you Chicago. For example with the implementation of the of the Maryland. Bob A law. which is you're not allowed to smoke so so if you're poor let's say you live in an apartment building and most of these apartment? Buildings have rule. That says you can't smoke indoors right and you also can't smoke in any sort of business or anything like that in the city of Chicago. There's no sort of indoor smoking in any businesses or places of work or anything thing. And there's also prohibitions against smoking on the street and in public parks so even though you have a sort of a right to smoke marijuana by law right you don't actually have the ability to practice that right so it's I would take issue with the idea of of saying I mean what is what what is the right right. It's like well it's like you don't mean right is whatever you can eventually defend in court. I guess. But it's like but you don't meaningfully have the opportunity entity to smoke. Oh no I totally. I totally agree with. Here's another way to look at it as smoking laws which started out when when things really started to tip in the nineties and the environment's really changed changed As it happens my Wife University Med school that my wife works at is the host of this giant archive of the all. The smoking files that came came out and stuff like the letters. I've told you about this letters of agreement with sly. Stallone had this many appearances of this brand of cigarette in the movie and all that kind of stuff but when I finally tipped in the nineties on the FDA Ah you know got the game on Then you started seeing lots of public health laws so as early as the eighty S. I told you the story about when I worked at a restaurant on the last day the before law passed we had to have a nonsmoking section. So my boss sent me to the hardware store to buy no smoking sign and put it over the worst table in the restaurant so that already. That's a little bit of a loophole. pull now got a nonsmoking section. Fuck you but it went from being public health laws to being employment laws so in San Francisco in the late ninety S. I want to say they made a Tom. A like an Osho Style Law Osha. But you know Employees Law that you couldn't have smoking in a place because it harms the employees right which is an interesting angle but then what happened. Guess what owner employee places that were all. The employees are owners. It's okay to smoke. which is the weirdest thing loophole after loophole of these these kinds of things? Well you've seen the Nathan for you. Which one is that so he oh smoking in the bar with with the play? Yeah if you're allowed to smoke if part of a play gas exact only so much the two ladies in the two chairs. Oh my God that episode is so good so anyway. Let's talk about happy things who likes marijuana I enjoy. I enjoy occasionally the marijuana hero. Oh you know here's a question I would love to. I would love to throw to you guys but also I would be interested in a in a feedback from the Dubai Friday listeners I have a question about this. So you know when you feel like I've been to a dispensary in California right and it's like a fucking like an old school I can't shop. There's just so many marijuana's us that you can buy all varieties and different Type parts of different percentages of different chemicals. Are they mostly like really clean and tidy organized. The one that I went to was very it was is almost like science feeling. It had a lot of those like sealed plastic containers and everything sort of crispin hygienic. Didn't feel illicit or dingy. Engine is as opposed to say going to a place to buy a bong in the hate where that would be a very different vibe correct. No it wasn't that wasn't stone. Read all felt it felt felt sort of strip mall strip mall health clinic like yeah. Yeah it was fine so you get a flu shot. Yeah exactly But My question is does it. I I'm interested in your thoughts about this doesn't actually matter what you buy or is it all basically the same I would. I think it's a little bit like wine. Maybe where like Maybe milk duds super connoisseur. You can slightly taste the difference or whatever but most people can't it really tall even the difference between red and white wine. Oh really it's all it's all tangy blindfolded tangy taste like wine. Where's my ribbon? Most most people cannot tell the difference between red and white one. Oh yeah including like wine. There's like you can go on Youtube and look it up but there's lots of like fun buzzfeed videos where it's like. We took wine experts in blindfolded them and they couldn't tell the difference between this type of that type documentary SOM- Psalm. That's just like oh so bad. It's good documentary. Everyone in their Tara. I'm Craig Middlebrooks and this debt reward card. I I will say I've seen like Like there's a difference between the Indica Sativa right like the his there you. Yes isn't an interesting if you read if you take a little baggie of weed and you're like Oh this is the one that chills you out and then you smoke it. You're gonNA feel chilled out and if if you have the same we'd news labeled like this is the one that's like good for creativity. You'd be like wow. Oh it's like a pot CBO effect. Here's here's the thing. INDIKA purely early appear Indika in a pure sativa and it's also like what what is quote pure anymore like most of the stuff you buy is a hybrid and it has has. It's like I think like nutritional supplements like there's all these claims or whatever but since it's not regulated what effect is going to have on your body some it will make some people really energetic giggly and other people. They're going to be super paranoid and want to hide in a closet like it. It is different but it all depends trying to find this on the Internet. Sativa is a heady thing. Indica is more like feeling stone thing is that right I I remember it. You think of it as into couch. So you haven't Indika you're GONNA sink into a fat boy beanbag. I've never gotten the same answer twice from people about what the different type I think. It's all may not know. Wait wait wait hold on. I'm interested. What have they said? It's everyone's got author own. Oh this is more of a body high in this is more of a head high and this is an upper and this is all fucking made up. Well that's because all of the plans have been like chemically only those two there's like actual scientific names for them or whatever but any sort of hybrid like people are just growing plants mixing them together like it's essentially a wheat so it's not regulated so it was like who knows Melatonin works great for some people it gives me horrific nightmares. And I don't like it I will say really interesting. Yeah do not like a meltdown and are you listening to the dream again. Are you back on the dream. Oh Yeah love it good and scary the like a like a long hiatus right. It's the seasons so yeah but nobody. I knew there was season two. I have like the first like three episodes. Yes I don't have a new one since like November off for the holidays but this is in and they're basically backing up chapter and verse everything I've been hearing from my shrink for years about like the quality. The lack doc of quality control especially Indian Chinese generics like it's horrifying and did you hear the one about that one drug that had sixty different impurities in it scary. And the Oh there's slight spoiler but like they're some of the supplements have literally It's like Male enhancement and they're literally putting off Brand Viagra into them. So you're just it's so scary. I the only only like supplements I take our caffeine really so like other than our challenge. So let me tell you this story. Though my shrink my shrink is like adamant about about like look. We're GONNA put you on this one. If you really WANNA do generic will do the generic but a really want you to monitor this and talk to me He's told me I mean he's a very interesting guy but one of his anecdotes does was. He had a patient come in and it was clear that something was extremely wrong. And like why are you still taking your WanNa say with one's not Alexa pro. What's one nobody? Nobody takes like Paxil or something or a meal..

"Here. We go this on the scene so much okay. This is when we went back and rewatch this this thing sequence montage of him like building the spacesuits. It's so good. This was on the jukebox. We had a free Jukebox by the pool table in my college. So I've heard this song so many times so many times. It's a good song though so the first thing is that that song is as stuck in my head right now as any song has ever been. I've never heard the song before. The watchman thing that was my first exposure to it but a total fucking earworm of the song. Yes also how good that montage. It's such a pleasing like Yeah Mon slows down and gets a little study at the start of the verse defendant. Did I love that part. Yeah it's it's like that song you don't know it almost sounds like a gospel song at the beginning of a couple of the O. G. O. G. Reggae songs like from the Post like rock steady. A AH fucking great song to Song Gray Montage and I was thinking when I went back and watched montage. I was like I realized a I was like this is such good storytelling like they packed so much. You really get a sense of how long he's there and all the work he's doing and also at a genius he is and he's like you see all the multiple collect versions of things he's making and where he scavenging everything like. It really sells the idea of like how hard he's working for this. Now that I think about it montages are kind of like what's her name. Jewish jokes like a montage is horrific. Unless it's done well and then it is just brill- yes and so I was thinking yes so that was my. I thought it was like this is the best montage in any media that I've ever seen but also I was thinking I love a good montage to me to what I was listening back to. The they did the incomparable on Elf and I was forgetting. How many hilarious? Montage to me hilarious. Because I like more than people would like to know. There's so many hilarious montages enough. I agree with you. It's just a win the when it's used for lazy eighty styles storytelling. That's what made it bad is just you know you just you burn two minutes montage challenge. I'M GONNA write it down. Oh that was. That was my discussion topic was I was GONNA ask. Do you guys have any that stand out like like. That's a fucking cool montage Santosh I mean yes but should we. Should we save it for a challenge. I could make this challenge. I I was thinking I feel I feel like I remember Devil Wears Prada having some good ones. Yeah it was alright I the do you remember the pitch also house. I'll say the wire I don't I don't make over makeover montages. Can Dan be. There's two kinds of month hundreds of gateway overused in my opinion the makeover montage and the getting the Rambo getting ready for combat strapping the knife to your calf kind of thing under which I would also include stuff like you know macgyver. But like macgyver had a lot of very silly montages. What was yours maxwell? What's one that comes to mind? Why would say this? This is an easy pick but the wire the sort of end of season wire into season once. Oh my God yes well. It's I think season four the one with the school. Well I think is pro or no season three or four. They're all fours the school. Season Season Three's Basically seen one part to season two is the dock season. Five's the the paper season one's the one that ends with ninety on the boat right. Yes such a great ending. All of those montages are really well done. And they're also kind of notable because the only time there's non diabetic music and the whole show And so it's only tell you watching hours and hours of the show the only time you hear a song. It's not coming from the sea in these montages and they super stand out. I mean they are. What about finding the bodies and Goodfellas with Layla? ooh That's a good one. I think it's a good one. I think it's Alex you like movies. What do you think about that where they find the frozen frozen in the truck and the bodies in the car? Now you think so I will. Here's this wire want this season take and this one. I don't remember so season. Three.

"By Friday and so if you give us five dollars a month that will give you the special? RSS Feed of the Dubai. Friday after show. And if you give us ten dollars a month at the Cox's this is cock level you get the RS feet of the supersecret after show but you also get periodically you get a treat in the mail. which is something weird and interesting that we make for you which we're not obligated to do? No no no we shut says on the page you give us the money because we want them you. Here's the thing. Give us all of the money. 'cause we want the money it's a treat because we're giving it to you. Don't expect too much. Yes so we have not committed to what the treats are when you get them but a couple timeline committed to doing in this show but a couple times a year. We'll send stuff out to people. Just what you fucking money and the treat that we did. We want to do a holiday treat for people and so we made made Series to weave these little by Friday prints that were making which how would you describe them. Just pure genius of Kevin Budnick on display once again that yet. That is a friend of the show Kevin so I think the idea for those. What if there were due by Friday funk Oh pops guess what started as Funke Funke pops? I tried to get us down to trading cards right then. We ended up somewhere in between which is bespoke handmade drawings by our brand manager and very good friend. Kevin Bug in the first set was the three of us and the and like a GI. Joe Or Barbie with our gear are each of us with our gear in but it wasn't sold separately so really retreat. So yeah the second in series of three came on. WHO's on those so I can't remember it's it's Merlin's Cat Merlin's cat? Wow Merlin's big president. Big Trek I and jared the time Guy Gerald the time guy. Hey Gerald AH realize you're sending those out also these are exclusive not even know. I don't get these I just don't get things I can. You give us ten dollars a month fucked out did night. I fucked up on on a strong songs in technology connections and my gray and give it to us now. I mean people. I'm I'm actually. It's actually very sweet. Because like when we send these little printout people put them up at their desk at work or they take a photo makes me so happy to see that these are highlight. I like I also like you know. The other thing is the way we did these. They're not like a branded. It doesn't say like Dubai Friday on it. It's just a little drawing. A little mini doesn't have like an MSNBC. You see bug in the corner like it's like it's just a thing so little cartoon bates thick a little mini print. It's like what like four inches by four inches. It's a little print six. Yeah but but eh. That's just one part. There was another part that I think people have found extremely sir okay. Well what good though you put that thing up in your in your cubicle or you put it up on your fridge or whatever and I like that it's like maybe someone else will see it and they'll be like Oh do right and that's Gerald the time guy right but it's not like a big way. It's no oh no Gerald's well now that we've talked about the thing that people can't get any more every time Max is not unscreened people should be asking. It is going back to his home planet. Where are we talking about own right? And then the other thing we made was a deck of playing cards. Also a hand drawn they Kevin Bought Nick. So Merlin is the Kings Alex is the Queen. And I'm Jack and I wouldn't well. It's too late now. You can't get but there's some nice little Easter eggs in there. Too as some of our friends of discoverable peanut butter and all kinds of stuff like that and then and then I made a video. That is ninety candy minutes long. Ride teach some of my favorite card tricks and I also went out to some of my magician friends and ask them to teach some trick. We did you upload that Oh yeah it's up on the shit see that yeah. Yeah so taught some card tricks in there. It's been cool. I've been watching on the discord. People have been the scores like the old chat room that we have for the show and people have been learning the tricks and then like doing they're like family and friends and stuff That's actually very gratifying. And Fun to see people doing magic and getting into magic it is it is. I think it's too late. Wait to get this stuff Like if you be. Let's say you became a ten dollar cock today. It's not like we're sending you this stuff because you you missed the window but if you become a ten dollar cock you'll get the next thing we send. And that'll be the next round of tweets and you'll be something new there. I mean like so. Lots of little asterisks asterisks and footnotes. I I just I learned a long time ago not to over commit but I think it's a pretty good deal because our shows really fucking good and we appreciate your support. There are some other little treats that we put in for for members. Only don't don't expect it and not too often but quick quick Credits credit credit's brags and thank. You thank you so much to Kevin for doing this and Excuse me featuring does for us I I I love his style so much and I also wanted to say I saw the numbers on this and we spent some dough on this so you should really grateful we turn that cash right back around around and brought the value back to the Cox and and I guess I just wanted to say I really do like genuinely appreciate everybody who's supported the show. I don't WanNa the bus gut about it. But it's it's really nice and I feel like for the size of our show and knowing the number of downloads and stuff. It's really. This is not false modesty. It's I'm really fucking proud proud. That like so many people help the show. That's all new. This get back to the bits. Now thank you for your service. He's unless you're true also also also them support First first responders to Seattle. Support the troopers not the true If you don't if you're not a ten dollars cock you will be drafted into the war with Iran. You get you get. I'm not an expert. I get some sort of deferment. Well if they if they show up with the jackboots on the door. If you don't have the Tattoo or flashing the gang sign of the Dubai Friday Jaycox okay. I they came for the first. They came for the free members and I said nothing because I was not a free member gave her all about her nation. Yeah you answer them funny. There's next the one of the coffee shops in my neighborhood that I go to all the time. There's a vape shop like one of those like one of those like real pop up looking so you know vapor vapor one of those top athlete conveyed shop as it's been there for six months or a year or so and as time has gone on. "Thing is that I wanted to just state the case of I was not looking for a first world technological solution but if this thing works it will be miraculous so I want to get off. My chest was that it is. It's a bit of a thing to make sure it's setup exactly right. I think it keeps thinking the drawers full when you get solid red light on power. Does that mean. It thinks the boxes full. Well this is the one robot in the house. That matchy is responsible for but smart. That's right but I'll let Max maxine explained the particulars but it is such a fucking brilliant albeit Rube Goldberg. Let's start Greenpeace ship for our audience. That it's it's a it's a sphere that your cat takes shit in. Its Kitty Litter Globe. Yeah Yeah it's a globe like a porthole that the cat goes in got like a really really thick rubbery bottom that the litter sits in and then after the cat has done his or her their business. They're not aid. They got so angry. You were so angry the turns and first of all it turns counterclockwise and all of the litter and the EH leavings start to turn like very very a logie drier. And then what happens is the stuff that's not clumped. Meaning the good litter goes through the screen into into a little holding area. It turns back. And then the rubber thing gets like pushed out and that all drops in through this whole and goes into a receptacle. Michael like Mister show. POOPING chair goes into thing in a drawer. You don't and then it goes back and then the clean litter goes back in and you're good to go up. Pretty close is brilliant. It's brilliant to watch because there's like five different things where it's like a self cleaning shit box for the cab that's all we don't have the both of you don't have enough respect respect for the listeners. But here's the problem early on. I don't think you have it calibrated correctly because it doesn't understand. Wait wait and floor well the thing. We had to keep adjusting it for my cats because they started to really like it and they loved watching their shit like turnaround became love their shit. Like I'm Jay edited by it sits there and waits for it to go head to like make it as far as possible. Our cat runs out of the room in shame because she knows that she's just literally urinated all over over the floor. Then you need to make it as like how. How have you considered pudding? The vine of what animal is that. Because that's the the thing that my wife craves what is that. What's the animals? Wow might well know what my wife one one night one night my wife who I love love and his way smarter and Funnier than me she goes. You know because the cat always goes ow. ow ow become incorporated into my dreams because she when she meows she most meals at nighttime in the early morning thirteen times in a row and she goes Muraro. We're really awfully. Maybe she needs another set of food and water in a different part the house in any case. What's always said you know every time a GonNa feed her and I say get some greenies? She's talks in the Cav the voice and she gives her she's just once I should say thank you. I wish I wish just once she would look up Mingo. Wow no excuse excuse. Wow one of our cards videos that we show at the show where it's like an animal and it goes. Wow I do love I still love you ask. Yeah and now my daughter's really into tick tock so. This will come up later in this episode learning so much. I don't remember I can't replace it. Oh that's cute journal now so it's really good. Oh actual actual hot tip for you and everybody you you want. Want to have bowls of water in different places but you don't also want have food there because cats will drink way more water if they if it's not buy food because in the wild she read that that was one of the original things. Well what happened was we put it out for. We went away for a couple of days to get confused. Because you know you're in that weird window where like so you know it's not quite long enough to have the people come so like we put on extra stuff in case we die and automobile accident and she'll be okay you know like like it's your noble cat and so yeah yeah so we Turtle a turtle that goes all even cuter How turtle all right? Yeah I found it yet. It's the turtle that because while okay here we go. I'm going to put the putting the microphone up to my lap. Okay we can hear this all this all sounds too much like that turtle talk. I knew I knew that it would be. I knew it was a good mean. We should bring this. Yeah bring it back all right. So Yup.

He's he's sick man I'm Marilyn I. You're you're better cameron I it's actually you guy now she's listening to us all and drop a marker here noticed when trump trump sounds trump sounds like like he's really cooked up in millennial when he's reading off a teleprompter. I don't get it as some voice so so goddamn board and now I guess it's becoming increasingly more reported. Many people are saying that he really absolutely does need glasses and refuses to to wear them and they pump up the type as big as they can get it on the teleprompters and what was the one who tripped over this morning. It was a pretty good one. He didn't do the trick. I missed the Amtrak Nick. What's what's that? That's where he says a word wrong and he'll go like he. It'd be a virtual kits bleak and blitzkrieg. Oh Oh yeah okay so big sniffing and then somebody says Oh yeah a compliment. It'd be a huge huge strongly a compliment. It's when you know what that reminds me of is one of my cat goes to like jump onto a counter. Mrs Falls Down Low sort of you. Just SORTA dusted off. And you're like I meant to do that. Yeah I was going for that. Yup Oh shit dog. My very special lady friend got us a family Christmas present. Guess what we is this the fat boy we got the fat boy to get a little robot. Oh Yes oh my God your life is about to change and I love it. will she eventually use it. Please tell me she'll eventually use it. We're were your cats were looked at it. I I had our our cat adapted immediately. Same but Jamie's smart idiot. Well honestly I think she's just going to sit ed she. She has like a cushion or she sits on the couch right she has. She has doubles of everything. It's almost as bad as my daughter she has. We have some point decided my my wife. My wife decides things by Fiat. I think she feels things in the air that I don't. She's decided for example. She figured out one day by Fiat Win. The lizard likes to go to bed so we have to turn the lights off. She's he's also decided that the extra set of food and water in the hallway. She decided by Fiat that the cat needed a third so oh I don't know cross between of being being being PUTT. PUTT golf course for for a tap can get it through the windmill. Wow Wow so we gotta literally okay. So and what about what to do they use yours. Oh Oh yeah they love it and get the Bluetooth one where it sends you a push notification. Your cat takes a shit. We got the litter litter about three. I think it's the nicest one the the cannot get. The Wi fi connected it first of all two things about the litter robot first of all. It's incredibly ingenious. But it is a very much be. It is very much a Rube Goldberg device. Vice where there's a million ways they can go wrong. I think I might be having a problem with the cat censor because okay sorry go also so like like. Do you guys remember setting it up with the APP and I the two top buttons until explain to our viewers what this is. Okay yes all right Arlen set and watch this thing for an hour. I I just did it over and over and watch so so you get a literal by welcome to the first world okay. Okay some weight before I get in trouble with the millenniums. Let me just stipulate. We are cat as I said before. It's not funny. I think our cat has reception issues. I think she does not have. I'm not shaming her. I don't think she. He has an awareness of where her body parts are at a time. She has the coldest wettest Piss of any animal. I've ever encountered in my life so we start putting down piddle pads around her box because she just walks up puts her front paws in the Fox and the all over the floor. Now guess what I have a poodle. It'll pat antibiotics and now also by the way that I mentioned there's a liner in the litter thing that no matter what I do lips in such a way than an eighth of an inch of cold wet urine fills the entire side and it can't even get the get the club poop out without turning over the thing I'm going oh it's so called. How could they be? It's it's so disgusting and then hold it up. Hold it up to my family doctor. The Brown bag you feel how heavy that is. That's all cold wet urine. Do you know what I do for this family. So wait wait hold on you. Take you have a litter genie right. which is like the diaper genie with? No no no no we have eight. "Excited talk about whatever the other girls are probably warning if I had to. I'm going to say Karen Melissa. Sarah good are any corrects. I truly don't know Lawrence. He's got he's Got Lauren H. L.. Okay I am Becca Z.. BECCA ASS and then of course there's Becky and Rebecca did you guys know here's was a fun Bachelor Trivia windmill wait. I think I knew that from previous. It's weird they don't bring it up at all in the season you'd think that would be like Mentioned he's a pilot ever. Yeah we use a pilot alley. I can't believe they didn't say anything about How degrading for the first woman Blue Angel too. I feel horrible for us. This is so bad I was like. Why are you making these like young? Women like wrestle around in diarrhea in front of a fan. Shouldn't you be getting a trophy. I was it's like these. Women are so legit. What are they doing here? Please tell me they're giving them like a million dollars each. Oh God oh so excited to talk about this. I'm worried that it's going to become like my new survivor. Like I'll turn analyzing like okay. This part's real. This part's not real. This part is almost not scrape all the all the critical theory that I love. They're all talking about whatever the trash was of their day. I mean they're talking about like pulp fiction and garbage movies and they're like here's what it means about the culture and I think it's a good thing is completely. The Bachelor is sports without sports thing that everyone watches. That represents the Zeitgeist. And there's all this this this package you know be Disney image control. That goes into it. I think it's completely valid to talk about that and be like what is happening in our society Too many people take it seriously. Merlin here all right. Hey Hey just want people to be happy. We were talking about infinite jest and nothing and we talked about. We were talking about serious matters day. You guys excited for Warren. We're in Iran who's exciting. Let's let's round robin. Let's all go around and say one. I've decided added to not have any opinions about anything this year. Every time I started given opinion I have to give somebody ten dollars. Maybe like oral Roberts or something on the marlins neither pro nor nor four neither for nor against the war. That seems a little nomad. No nothing we know. All soft on America. Alex where are you at you know what. While I don't support the troops I support each and every single soldier out there every every one of our boys yep supporting our boys Yup Yup. That was a pretty good answer. Wasn't it yeah. That was so good. I support the war. But not the troops chiefs I support. I support the president but not the troops. Oh okay That's they're not loyal enough to him. He's elected the right. Oh Yeah I mean. Somebody must've liked him. He's in there. Hillary should have one. Did you guys read. I sent you guys this article that I was last. I don't know what it is in the news. He's just made me think of it I sent you this Kapiti article about this thing called Millennium Challenge. Two Thousand and two didn't look at look at it right now. I've been looking at massive Danny Devito veto all day. Let me give you the oil. Well that's for the save that for the after show that God okay here. Let me tell you a little something about Millennium Challenge. She doesn't I really encourage. Did you everyone to go on the article for Millennium Challenge Two thousand and two and read about this but essentially it's a d. Do you guys know war. Games are a real a real thing that the military does I know. Oh more about it than I ever want. Okay so this was a this was a war game that the Pentagon ran in two thousand and two and it was it was two teams commanded by two you you know you have basically a general that commands the the US forces which is called blue team and a general that commands the the the generic bad guys in the Middle East who are widely widely understood to be Iran in an that was called the red team so as blue team versus red team and red team was did not. They don't say in the war game where gaming out what it would be like to have a war against Iran. They just. They're just like it's a country in the Middle East that has these properties and the properties happen to match up with what we know about Iran. So That's the set upright It's a ten day war game that involves A mix of real life troop movements and mobilization so all around the world there's like parts of the US military cherry that are actually like moving around and doing stuff to like. Pretend to simulate the war game but also it's just simulated on computers because you don't actually blow people up and stuff just like that so I basically the whole wikipedia article is worth a read Lieutenant. General Paul K van. riper sounds like a real baller. The van ripper. That's his name. General ripper got all. He's got a lot of ribbons. He was the red team right. Yep Yep he's the symmetric Oh boy so he so he decided really early on. He's like it does not make sense for red team to fight the US in a in a sort of one for one you know equal playing field. They used to say gorilla but now we say asymmetric. It's where like you have you bought so if you're a country like say the Blue Team I'm not saying it's the United States but if you are a blue team that has lots of very large weapons in very large transports do very large things. People can do things much more lightly or against a civilian population all kinds of asymmetric ways to fight a war that it's difficult or impossible for a large military to prepare for exactly so he so very quickly he realized he's like okay. The US has complete dominance. It's over like information warfare. They have like all of their stuff is like way more expensive We more destructive than we have and so he came up with with this ingenious strategy where they ran they used all sort of pre digital World War Two era communication techniques so he had motorcycle messengers. Bring orders from The command to the frontlines. They used a lights to direct air traffic control so it was the. US completely lost their technological ecological superiority advantage because they weren't able to intercept any. You know radio signals or anything. You ran a dunkirk. Yeah and yes yes and Paris ing so basically what they did was they completely shocked the US side by Having all this coordination without any like a radio communication or any things was total shock up counter attack and they just launched a bunch of like cheap flex shitty Scud missiles and I think they did so my kamikaze boats and stuff yes. You're warned. Blues Approach Red used a fleet of small boats to determine the position of Blue's fleet by the second the exercise in a preemptive strike red launched a massive salvo of cruise missiles that overwhelmed the booths forces select on sensors and destroyed sixteen warships ships so they crushed crushed. The United States ready either blue cross blue. Yeah and then and then in that was on day. Hey to of the ten day simulation and so the Pentagon was like this is unacceptable. And they basically reset they unsanctioned all the battleships they go they said you did not sink my battleships and then they ordered they ordered General von Ripper who is the red team guy and they said they said play worse Wanted to throw it. Yeah they said they said you're doing too well and so they ran it and the United States want and they're like yeah. We're well positioned to win a warrant Iran and that's the intelligence that informs our strategy today. We're Aniston relation in two thousand and two and we won the millenniums wind learnings funny soap opera and also the pope hasn't commented on it yet and it's just very very well. I mean okay. It is well established that I am the Catholic character. I know you're the Jazz Catholic whenever whenever something happens in the world. You're waiting remarks from the point. Did you see how he slapped. That's good getting Lavar. Their margin.

Is this little saying that i remember who came up with that. I wish i could because i give them credit but they were saying that in the old days we used to think of our lifespan us seven seven seventy around seventy five. They used to say seven seven score years and ten. That was the expression old style expression that basically it can look you know seventy dollars years hopefully these days. We hope we're gonna live longer but let's just take that as an analogy for a minute okay and if you imagine it like that and then you imagine as is a week so ending on how old you are where you are. Are you on wednesday you know or are you up to your weekend. These are really suffering. Bring thought and you suddenly go. I'm nearly on the weekend. You know i'm that can really kind of focus your mind. I'm a hassle so i'm quoting. Hey house office but quote wayne dyer. Don't die with the music still in you know you can't go better phrase than that. "No, not during show elephant. So you've never believe me. I've talked to a lot of guys that that will admit that they get scores updates in their ears or they take a little ipad up with them. And maybe put it off on the side. Like, you don't know when you when you play you're just disconnected from it. I will the only time I'll take my phone out while I'm playing is to take a picture of the we're pretty one dimensional people plots, maybe the most more dimensional, but we're pretty one dimensional. That's the nicest thing. Dimension. Is like used yet. Imagine dragons biggest bend the world. Like if you guys Daunte anybody yet, we really want passes to this or passively been Linke. At a pizza place tonight spectacular. Restaurant. Be like, hey, this is this is imagine dragons wants to come in tonight. I know you guys are fully booked possible to to get him in. He's a pretty finicky guy. You could put them in a good place. Extra dessert he'd be really. Does that work? It does yet. Always my manager guy really to me was stopped him. Janey phone calls. But I get. More step down because he's really nice. It'd be like I would act like a real church like a jerk manager which reflects on him. I guess, but that's where it 'cause I asked him to do mining Kikkan ever get it done. That's that's what I'm telling you. You to relax and then takes care of that yourself. This is the manage. And then when you come in you kind of feel like him, I've always different when I come in at the night. I think my manager called. I don't know if he put it under the real name. Defend yourself. He's here. No, no. He doesn't want. He wants nothing. So on a serious note seventeen eighteen I mean, I I've jokingly flippantly said a few times biggest been of the world. I mean, would you guys have accomplished is staggering right? Vetu incredible years back to back. You're doing the college football halftime show. I understand all of these these elements together at some point, how do you sort of separate where you've been to figure out where you wanna go next. You take breaks trust try and stop and reflect on line. We're doing this. You're right. Yeah. No, we're going to we're going to know one of these days. Yeah. You're in an industry where you're to bring his scary. No. I think we've got no point now where we can say, okay. We could take a break. We'll be okay. But with that being said, we were going to take a break this year, and this opera, tune came back and said, you know, what this is a once in a life, a -tunities, really odd. You know, we have to go do this. And and look we're here, and we're really excited about it. And I think it is an amazing opportunity. But I do think that you know, we need we're gonna take a break at some point. At some point. I think saying that to myself right, basically said it is scared to take a break in this climate. I don't know. It's not really a piece of fear. It's just like, you know, always changing drive. Yeah. Our own drive and ambition. But then how do you like because the other part of me on breaks is I've Aleutian, right?.
