"Bills the PODCAST. The Blazers they lose kings last night with Fox or Bagley. They bought a foreign seven. And we've been talking talking about them for a while scowl about potentially being a little bit in trouble this season with the injuries and just kind of the way that Rauscher's built the guys that they've already lost some of them had free agency Amino Harkness and and so honestly it's a perfect time to welcome in our next guest and for the first time Jamie Hudson she's From NBC Sports Their Blazers reporter joining us. And we have her pitcher on skype. Appear Jamie what's going on in this Gal pal. Thanks for hopping on this morning. Hey thanks guys. I'd be on the show. Thanks for having me. So it's a way this straight you're at the airport right now. The image looks good. So we're not. We're not dealing with any kind of a any lag time with a Wifi. So you're our first person person that we've had on like in this market. We're trying to kind of experiment with this. We now know we can have people dial in from the airport so thanks for anything we can get from this. We know from a production standpoint. Jamie your home run with the first guest on downtown save at least the Sacramento Airport. We gotta give it a thumbs up for its why five I'm incred reprimands Aga- sweatshirt I but that's your Alma Mater right there you go nice nice awesome from are you from Ellensburg L. Ellensburg. Yeah we'll technically kit attest washing tech ten minutes from now. I know that's like we're Katya. Media is and stuff like that right all right so so when I when I contacted Jamie state I saw the five. Oh nine and for you guys. That don't I don't know. I grew up in Washington western Washington but I love eastern Washington so where she grew up. It's a really good spot we go. Hey well we. It's the perfect time to have you on Jamie because as I mentioned before we have been talking a lot about the blazers struggles and just kind of you know dame as having a career year in a lot of senses. Cj been a little bit more disappointing. But it's been a lot of the injuries it's been a lot of the guys that they lost. They sit at four and seven. I mean how much. How much is the panic? Nick meter going off there for those guys in Portland the front office the players or are they just kind of like. Hey We've been here before we'll turn this thing around. Yeah they're kind of thinking. Hey it's still small sample sample size. not worried. And it's one of those things where it's not as if they're really missing the play of Alfred Camino and Maurice Harper. It's more so the continuity I mean there with Damian Lillard. CJ mccollum Daimler Core Group with Amino and heartless for a a few seasons. They really gelled. They talked about how their team chemistry was amazing. And now they've got seven new faces not to mention all the injuries so really really. The Blazers are trying to figure each other out Damian. Lillard and Hassan whiteside. Still trying to figure out that connection zone whiteside is a very different player than abusiveness blazer fans or finding out and so that picking oldest blazers love to go to it. It really hasn't been working between alert and a fight side. At least not yet as there are a lot of talk because I guess nationwide a lot of Kevin love for Hassan. Whiteside Talk I. I can't how much does that have got into back to the players or has Damian Lillard even mentioned or lean towards like what are you. What are you guys here? And as far as I know this this conversation. Yeah no deem doesn't mention that he's a one of these leaders that's always about. Hey I got my guys. We're GONNA work through this Everything's fine one game at a time right and for Dame I know he's been shouldering a lot of the offense sixty point game and they still lose. Oh so right now. They're trying to figure out offensively. Who else can bring the buckets in? It's funny you guys because before the season started looked at the Rauscher and it was like. Oh okay this is one of the talented. Most talented groups players were talking about it's NBA finals or buses. The season and I think that's where the fans are really struggling because there were really expectations in Portland for this team bringing in Hassan Assan. whiteside bringing in guys like Kim as more and getting rid of guys that couldn't shoot from deep. That was the big thing is blazer. Fans really didn't like like that. Either meaning or heartless couldn't be that consistent knocked down three point shooter so everyone thought. Hey David has more they have more help and now it's not showing up I. It's it's interesting that you bring up the expectations and cascal and I talked about all the time on the show like I. You know. There's pressure from the media. There's pressure from fans there's pressure from people around the League and the pressure that the blazers put on themselves after making the Western Conference finals last year. But I kinda went back to you I go. I like their core. I think one of the most well run organizations in the NBA. But I kinda feel like that. That Western Conference Finals Strip last year like they kind a peak the little bit and that might not have been where they were and then on top of that. The Western Conference has gotten better overnight. I it was already. It was already soured and somehow gotten better adding Anthony. Anthony Davis is the Lakers and what the clippers did not mention. The nuggets are still there and even the jazz adding Mike Conley so like I understand the expectations should be there. You always want to like improve upon what you did last year. But I I WANNA get your. was that a realistic expectation for this team. Given given all the injuries that they've had and all the people they lost. Yeah that pawns and use a veteran veteran guys. Don't have those two guys in seven or seven three. I should say seven footers knows that Collins no use of snark age you're cages. Timetable is about around the all star break. He should be back after rehabbing left leg. Injury and soul is still displays was roster. There's no kind of talk of win. He will actually make it out on the court art but I mean you gotta think assault could still bring you something. He's obviously bringing that so mentor ship. I know he's been a big key piece in this blazes Locker Room But the blazers are missing their bigs and last night without two of their forwards. They're starting forward. The rotations have been in Korea. You guys and so things are just so different right now with the injuries and still trying to figure out what works. Hey with Hassan why. I'm obsessed with Hassan whiteside negative standpoint like as soon as he went there on Portland's not GonNa win. He's not a winning player but back if they're kind of relying they have to rely on him. There's really nothing they can do right. And what does the expertise on how long this thing is going Take before dame. Cj and Hassan whiteside could put it together. We'll never had a guy that they could slob. You you really. I mean it's never been lob city and rip city and people thinking okay that happened we got sucked at might happen this year. and we have been you've he probably seen relapse this year. So just aren't figuring out. I feel like the strengths. Quite yet of what I saw John can bring. And I'm with you. I know he definitely is a player that takes possession saw. I've already written about how it was. A tale of two halves ver- The white side. He really wasn't in the game mentally at all for the first half last week and then you came on strong. Actually it was the Tunechi game. I'm sure you guys breath Charles Barkley and shack what they had to say about lights. I honestly pretty sure he heard about that. After the they had said that at halftime any turned it on you can do you can get you so many rebounds. He can get buckets. But it's not consistent Jamie molasses dot here for you I want you know. Put your put your prediction had on like do they do they have you know. Can't dig themselves out of this with all all the injuries as you said in the people that they're missing. Is it realistic for them to still like are they still a favorite to make the playoffs in the western conference. Think when you have Damian Lillard alert is GonNa will them to the playoffs and then to see what happens when you circuit Zach Collins. Come back so guests. I still think they can sneak into with the play offs. Just I think Blazer fans need to buckle up for a while yeah especially coming up. I'm looking at your schedule Joel. Toronto back home in Senate at San Antonio at Houston Avenue Orleans at Milwaukee. ACT CLEVELAND AT CHICAGO. You'll be we all over the place to Jamie. Thanks for joining us. "Court has reviewed the criminal complaint. Almost twelve pages in length. I've considered the allegations as set forth the possible penalties which include life imprisonment and find that substantial cash bail is necessary to ensure the defendant's appearance in court. I will set bail at five million dollars. That was the honorable James C Babbler in Barron county Wisconsin today at the hearing of Jake t Patterson, it was his first court appearance in the case, the state of Wisconsin versus Jake Patterson as he is accused of two counts of first degree intentional homicide. One for James class. One for Denise close Jamie's parents one count of kidnapping and one count of armed burglary. We should point out too that the defendant Jake Paterson has no criminal history before this. He was not in the words of the Barron. Police he was not on their radar or anybody's raider. The criminal complaint was delivered to the media today in it. It's a twelve page complaint. So of course, we're not going to share the whole thing on the air with you. But in it, it says that when sergeant DeRosa pulled over his car after Jamie, freed herself and got the neighbor. Gene, nutter to help call nine one one sergeant DeRosa pulled over his car, he instructed Patterson to step out of the vehicle, and as he did the complaint says Patterson stated, I know what this is about. I did it even before being read his Miranda rights. He told the sergeant he did the criminal complaint starts with the interview of Jamie. She describes the night. She was abducted says she was asleep in her room. Her dog was barking early in the morning. She got up to investigate. She woke her parents. Her father went to the door to see what was going on. There was a man there at the door with a gun. She and her mother ran hid in the bathroom locked the door. And then she describes how she heard a shot, and she knew that her father was dead, and he was dressed in black from head to toe. The first time she saw the defendant Patterson was in the bathroom where she was hiding. With her mother addressed in black from head to toe facemask hat gloves, everything in black. She and her mother were hiding in the bathroom. He broke down the door pulled open, the bathtub curtain and told her mother Denise to duct tape. Her mouth. Denise complied duct tape. Jamie's mouth then Jake Paterson. According to the complaint raised his gun and shot Denise in the head in front of Jamie. He duct tape. Jamie's hands and legs and dragged her out to his car. He describes the struggle at some point in the criminal complaint was hoping she would walk herself. But realized that he duct tape her legs. So she was unable to walk. He put her in the trunk of his car where he had disabled the dome light of the car he had also stolen license plates. And he changed license plates before he arrived at the home. So nobody would be able to find him he disabled, but he would call a kidnapping exit rope in the trunk. So she was not able to get out. So apparently Patterson made her stay under a bed when he left the house. As long as twelve hours a day with no food, water or bathroom breaks. Apparently on one occasion. Patterson got mad at Jamie hitter, quote, really hard on her back with what she described as a handle for something used to clean blinds that hurt bad. And Jamie stated that she did not specifically remember what she did to make him mad on that occasion. But she remembers Patterson telling her that if it happened again, the punishment would be worse next time around, and that's how he imprisoned her under his single bed with. There were stacked totes and laundry bins with waited barbells to keep her under the bed when he left the house. The complaint goes on to then take his side of the story detective Nelson who took his report says the defendant J Patterson confessed to killing James and Denise class. He says he worked at a cheese factory for two days and on one of the days where he was driving to the cheese factory. His car was stopped behind a school bus. And that's when he saw Jamie, the defendant says he has no idea who she was. He did not know where she lived. But he knew when he saw her that she was the one that he was going to take. That's how he described it. He knew that. She was the girl he was going to take and on his last day of the two days of employment at the cheese factory. He bought a ski mask at a local WalMart. He describes how he went to the home two times before the night of October fifteen. But there were cars around and there were people around and decided not to three staked out. He's her those nitrite. He also describes to the police that he was going to kill anybody in his way of getting Jamie. He says he took his father's twelve gauge Mossberg pump shotgun. He described the gun, and he said, it was one of the most heavily manufactured guns. And he knew it would be more difficult to trace he wiped down the shells, wearing gloves and cleaned and wiped down the gun. So there would be no DNA. And then he shaved his face. Shaved all the hair off the top of his head showered before leaving his house the defendant. Patterson stated he did this. So he would not leave any DNA or hair at the scene. He describes how he methodically. Shut off his headlights disabled the dome light in his car walked up to the class house saw James clause in the window raised his shotgun purposely aimed at James head. And pulled the trigger. He got into the house stepped over the dead body of James cross found the bathroom where Jamie and her mother were hiding he describes it as Denise and Jamie were seated in the bathtub Denise with her arms, wrapped around Jamie in a bear hug. That's when he forced Denise to put duct tape on Jamie's mouth shut Denise in front of her daughter after she was dragged out to the car. He describes the same scene the way. Jamie Pollock did strike me. They're both very similar stories are. Yes. Between the victim and the perpetrator, and it's shocking how much she remembers as a young woman who young girl who suffered so much trauma hurt. Her father murdered witnessed her mother murdered is then duct tape thrown in the back of a car. She remembers so much about that night. And they came so close the police came so close to nabbing him on the scene. The defendant stated he got into his car removed. His mask started to drive towards baron. The defendants stated he had only driven what he thought was twenty seconds away from the house when he yielded to three passing squad cars that were traveling west towards the house with her emergency lights and sirens on because again, reportedly Jamie's late mother was able to call nine one one before. Yes. Of course, when when when she heard the altercation, and she knew somebody was knocking at the door the defendant, also describes what J. Amy describes creating space under his bed. It's out about two feet off the ground. So she would have to go under the bed when he left the house, and he would leave the house at twelve hours at a time. He describes even the time. He went to visit his grandparents in superior at Christmas time and Jamie was left under the bed for twelve hours. No bathroom breaks. No food. He describes how when his father would come to visit him in the house on Saturdays. He would hide Jamie under the bed, and then turn up the radio to cover any noise that she might make he told police he knew she was so afraid of him that she would not try to escape. He also says he never met Jamie before they never met on any social media sites. And she only learned he only learned the name of her parents that he had murdered after seeing them on news programs and on social media, and the most chilling, well, the whole thing is chilling. But adding a layer of. Chilling on top of everything else. The defendant. This is at the very end of the complaint. Patterson stated he basically assumed he had gotten away with killing James and Denise and kidnapping Jamie since he hadn't been caught during the first two weeks, the defendant stated he had never met Jamie through any social media sites. Only learned her name after the abduction when he got back to his house. The defendants stated he learned the names of the two people he had shot and killed after seeing their names reported on multiple news programs and social media the last sentence in the complaint, the defendant stated he never would have been caught if he would have planned everything perfectly. It's so chilling. He thought he'd never would have been caught if he had planned everything perfectly. And we we saw his first appearance in court today. He was detached. I described his face as vacant. He seemed devoid of an. Any emotion, and certainly any humanity as to what he has confessed to in this criminal compete, again seems pathological right? I mean, just and many folks were asking if there was a a sexual component to this. There are no claims of sexual violence in the criminal complaint on her part or on his part. She is a minor doesn't look like any of the complaint has been redacted, but it might have been, but if there were claims of rape sexual assault molestation. We assume they would have been in the criminal complaint. And we don't see that. Us people are asking on the text line. Was he alone in the house was at his parents house. It did belong to his father at one point. But it was given to him. I believe the deed was signed over to him eight days after he had taken Jamie, and apparently his father would come and visit. But it seems that Jake Paterson was the only person living in that little cabin. So it's my understanding. It's our understanding from the complaint that he did live alone. And again, there is no death penalty in Wisconsin. There's hasn't been since the early eighteen fifties. Right. So the most he can get is possibly concurrent life sentences. We heard from Lindsay's excuse me. We heard from Jamie's ons. She they were on good Morning America. They were on CBS this morning. I believe Gayle king was in town visiting and interviewing them will play some sound from Jamie's aunts as.

"Excuse me. You're near time for a preliminary examination. I'm sorry. And have you had enough time to discuss the waiver of time limits with your attorneys? Mr Clinton, are you satisfied that is waiver is voluntary. Yes. I will. So fine. I've consulted with council earlier and found a date that works February sixth at eleven AM. Does that still work, Mr. Glenn? Yes. And for the state. Yes. Mr right. The state's recommendation regarding bail state is asking the court to set cash bail in the amount of five million dollars. Mr. Patterson has no ties to Barron county. The allegations in the complaint are that he worked at Puto cheese factory for two days. The only reason other than that for being in Barron county was kidnapped Jamie. State asks the court to look at the charges themselves. He's charged with two counts of first degree intentional homicide. Maximum sentence on each of those counts life imprisonment. County kidnapping forty years the count of armed burglary. Fifteen years. The state asks you to consider the efforts he took to conceal himself. As alleged in the criminal complaint. The modifications that he made to his vehicle so the police wouldn't find him cluding stealing license plates on the vehicle near Serena putting him out just vehicle before he went to the cost residents. So that if police did see him they would not be able to trace his vehicle back to his plates. Fact that he disengaged his dome light to make sure that no one would be able to see him enter or exit his vehicle. Fact that he purchased the mask. Fact that he wiped down shotgun hit the shotgun. That was located at his house and the shells, and we used to kill James and Denise by his own words. So that no DNA or fingerprints would be found. The fact that it is alleged. He shaved his face all of his head hair showered before leaving for the class home. So no DNA or fingerprints could be located. Fact that he turned his engine off headlights off to conceal his arrival at the class, home fact that he had made a decision to shoot anyone inside that home including children because he could not leave behind any eye. Witnesses. He indicated that if he had been stopped by police he was likely he was going to shoot at police officers with the three shotgun shells that he had remaining. Kept the shotgun. Shell inside of his house for two weeks. In case the police came. He remained in hiding after abducting Jamie for eighty eight days before he was apprehended. Your honor all of this indicates. The defendant is a flight risk a danger to the public, and he is unlikely to further return for further court proceedings without an exceedingly high cash bail. The state asks the court to consider section nine sixty nine point zero one seven four proper considerations for the court to consider in setting bail would include the number and gravity of the offenses. A potential penalty the defendant faces and whether the alleged acts were violent in nature. All of these factors weigh in favor of the states requested male. I will. The allegations in the complaint are that he worked at Sapporo cheese factory for two days. The only reason other than that for being barren county was kidnaps, Jamie. State asked the court to look at the charges themselves. He's charged with two counts of first degree intentional homicide. Maximum sentence on each of those counts life imprisonment. The counter kidnapping forty years the count of armed burglary. Fifteen years. The state asks you to consider the efforts took to conceal himself. As alleged in the criminal complaint. The modifications that he made to his vehicle so the police wouldn't find him colluding stealing license plates on the vehicle near Serrana putting him on his vehicle before he went to the cost residents. So that if police did see him they would not be able to trace his vehicle back to his plates. Disengaged his dome light to make sure that no one would be able to see him enter or exit his vehicle. Fact that he purchased a mask. Fact that he wiped down shotgun the shotgun. That was located at his house and the shells that were used to kill James and Denise by his own words. So that no DNA or fingerprints would be found. The fact that it is alleged. He shaved his face all of his head hair showered before leaving for the class home. So no DNA or fingerprints could be located. Fact that he turned his engine off headlights off to conceal his arrival at the class, home fact that he had made a decision that he was going to shoot anyone inside that home including children because he could not leave behind any eyewitnesses. He indicated that if he had been stopped by police, it was likely he was going to shoot at police officers with the three shotgun shells that he had remaining. The state asks the court to consider section nine sixty nine point zero one sub four proper considerations for the court to consider in setting bail would include the number and gravity of the offenses potential penalty the defendant faces and whether the alleged acts were violent in nature. All of these factors weigh in favor of the states requested bail. Who's arguing bail for the defense your honor? We would just ask for a lesser amount. Make no further argument, if we'll have any additional things to say about Val. We do it. The emotion. The court has reviewed the criminal complaint. Almost twelve pages in length. I've considered the allegations as set forth the possible penalties which include life imprisonment and find that substantial cash Bill is necessary to ensure. The defendant's appearance in court. I will set bail at five million dollars. I will see you back in court, Mr. Patterson on February sixth at eleven AM anything else. Mr right. Your honor? If I may address non-monetary conditions. Those would include no possession of firearms. No, contact with Jamie Kloss. "Most of our listening area toward the end of the week. I mentioned that we've been sharing with you. The information that's released now with the criminal complaint and the initial court appearance. Coming today of Patterson who is the individual is facing charges in the Jamie clause case of. We've got some coverage here from five six that we can tap into when they do begin the court hearing again right now everybody's gathered in court. It's my understanding that Patterson is going to appear via video for reasons that are probably obvious have they started the hearing yet. Pablo alert me when they do what I'm gonna do in this segment here is I've been referring to the summary that we've had of the criminal complaint. I want to quote from the complaint in the two areas that deal with the two people that I think people have more people would most want to hear from. And that is Jamie clause herself. And the suspect Patterson? Let me quote, and they used here the wreck because she's a minor. They use her initials with that silly everybody was shaming. So I'm going to substitute where they have initials Jamie's Dave on the night. The Jamie was abducted Jamie stated that she was asleep at her bedroom when our dog started barking early in the morning, Jamie stated that she stated that she got up to investigate where dog was barking and notice that there was someone coming up the driveway. Jamie stated she went to her. Parents Uelmen woke them up. Jamie state of your parents got up at her father went to the door to see what was going on Jamie stated that there is a man later identified as Patterson at the door with a gun. So she and her mother hid in the bathroom with the door closed. Jamie stated that she and her mother hid in the bathtub JV stated she heard a gunshot in knew her father had just been killed, Jamie. Stated her mother had her cell phone with her and use the phone to call nine one one then answers the question about who made the cell phone. Call Jamie, stated Patterson broke down the bathroom door and told her mother to hang up the phone Jamie, stated Patterson told her mother to put tape over Jamie's math with your mother did. And then Patterson shot her mother, Jamie stated, both her mother and father were shot. One time Jamie stated that the first time she saw Patterson was in the bathroom where she and her mother were hiding Jaime stated that Patterson was dressed in black from head to toe, including a face mask, had and gloves. Jamie. Stated Patterson taped her hands and ankles together and drag you out to his car. Jamie described the tape is being black in color, Jamie. Stay Patterson taped her hands such that our hands are behind her back when they got to Patterson's car. Jamie stated the Patterson place there in the trunk Jamie describes Patterson's car is an older red four door car after Patterson put her on the truck, Jamie. Trunk Jamie stated he drove away. Jamie stated that she heard the sirens of two squad cars drive by a short time after Patterson began driving, Lebanon, Jack know, clearly what you have there is. There was the nine one one call that was made the nine one one call dig through the Jamie's mother apparently made. So the police are no racing and responding to the scene. In the meantime, here apparently is pattern. Driving a Jamie in the trunk and Jamie knows this because she heard the sirens probably racing by vehicles. We're going in the opposite direction of the red truck that Patterson was driving back to the complaint. Jamie stated that she. She was stated she thought she was in the trunk of the car for about two hours before they arrived at the house or Patterson took her to Jamie state of the Patterson later told her it was his house, Jamie stated, she observed Patterson to be wearing the same clothing. He add on when he shot her parents when he removed her out of the truck at the house, he could take it or two when they got to the house, Jamie stated the Patterson took her to a hallway and made her sit down and stay there. Jamie stated that he then removed the tape from her mouth hands and ankles after that Jamie stated Patterson told her to go into the bedroom and take off her clothes Jamie stated that after she disrobed Patterson, put her clothes in a bag Jamie stated Patterson made a comment about not having evidence Jamie stated Patterson told he was gonna throw her clothes away. But she didn't see what he actually did with them. After that. Again, I will note, according to Jamie statement here, which is just wonderful in terms of her recollection of the detail. It shows how well Patterson had this planned out back to the complaint. Jamie stated that sometimes Patterson would have friends and relatives over Jamie stated the Patterson made it clear that nobody wants to know. She was there or bad things happened were in order to hide the fact that Jamie was there Patterson made Jamie hide under his bed in his bedroom. Jamie stated that Paterson's bed was in one corner of the bedroom. When he made her hide under his bed. Jamie stated he sacked totes and laundry bins around the bed with weights like waits for barbells stacked against them. So that she could not move them without his being able to detect if she did one time Jamie stated, she accidentally moved one of the toads when she was told to hide under the bed and Patterson told you something would bad bad would happen to her. If she did it. Again, Jamie stated Patterson return on music in his room. So she couldn't hear what was happening. If there was anyone else in the house with him. Jamie stated that Patterson also make stay under the bed when he left the house Jamie stated Patterson would make her stay under the bed for up to. We're going to go right now live to the courtroom Mars attorneys, Richard Jones and Charles Glenn on behalf of the state attorney, Brian, right? Mr. connectors, Mr. Paterson.

"One time Jamie stated she accidentally moved one of the toads when she was told to hide under the bed. Patterson told her something bad would happen. If she did that again. Jamie also told detectives Patterson return on music at zoom. So she couldn't hear what it was happening. If there was anyone in the house with it. According to Jamie Patterson hitter, really hard on her back with what she described as a handle for something used the clean blinds. Once when he got mad at her. A number of reporters have tried to talk to members of the family, and there's a grandfather this heart, and they're all saying Jamie's doing experimentally well considering what happened to her? Well, not being complete completely freaked out in incoherent ranting and raving, given this context, I suppose it be considered to be extremely well. It's hard for anybody to imagine how they would react to this much less a thirteen year old kid because I don't know that anybody can ever even ponder being held captive for eighty eight days was like being hit underneath a bed after watching your mom and dad for small tonker watching your mom and dad get murdered by the buzzer. Let's take a pause and all the visits. Three twenty-seven news talk eleven thirty w is said. It's time for traffic. Ninety four eastbound at twentieth street, a crash on the right shoulder..

"You for spending some time with us. Good to be here. Wish we could start the show with more positive news. But we've got to get to the important stuff. What people want to know what people need to know. And this is the news of the day the criminal complaint. The state of Wisconsin versus Jake t Patterson in the abduction, and the murder of Jamie classes, parents is out. I have it in my hands. You've been hearing some of it in the news. And it is something people have been asking questions about what's in it. What does it say what really happened hall, and I are going to share with you exactly verbatim from the criminal complaint that we have in our hands in the Jamie clause case, I Paul on the first page, of course, it lays out the counts count one first degree intentional homicide in the murder of James Kloss. Jamie's dad first degree intentional homicide. This is Jamie. Mother Denise class and then kidnapping of Jamie claws, and then count four is armed burglary. It goes into probable cause it talks about the day. And then it gets to the part where we describe what happened. And this is the part that we've all been asking each other questions about that. We are now learning today. On page five the criminal complaint says that sergeant DeRosa from the Kasinga's police department where Jake Paterson was apprehended. Pulled Jake Paterson over. Now, this is after Jamie, escaped we'll get into that in a minute. And called nine one one. The police were looking for him sergeant DeRosa found the car that Jamie described he instructed Patterson to step out of the vehicle, and as he did Patterson stated, I know what this is about. I did it for the officer even says anything he says, I did it. Then they go on to interview, Jamie. Jamie told the police this on the night, she was abducted. She stated she was asleep in her bedroom when her dog started barking early in the morning, she got up to investigate why he was barking notice someone was in the driveway. She went to her parents room and woke them her parents got up her father went to the door. She said there was a man at the door with a gun. So she and her mother hid in the bathroom with the door closed. Jamie stated she and her mother hid in the bathtub. Jamie heard the gunshot and she knew her father had just been killed. She said her mother made a cell phone call to nine one. One Jamie, stated Patterson broke down the door to the bathroom told her mother, hang up the phone her mother. Did he then told her mother to put duct tape over Jamie's mouth, which Jamie says she did then Patterson shot her mother in front of them? She knew that both her mother and father were dead. She said, then Patterson taped her hands and ankles together and dragged her out to his car. Her hands were taped in a way that was behind her. She described his cars and older red red four door car, which is what he was apprehended, and he put her in the trunk and drove away she said she heard sirens of two squad cars after a very short time of them driving. Later in the complaint. They then went to his home after about two hours of driving. She said at Patterson's residents he removed the tape from her mouth and her hands told her to go into his bedroom and take off all her clothes. She disrobed. He put her clothes in a bag. And he made a comment about not having the evidence. She doesn't know where her clothes went after that. And he she was given his sister's pajamas to wear. Jamie, then stated that Paterson would have friends and relatives over to this home, and he told her he made it clear to hurt. Nobody was to know that she was in the house or she said, quote bad things would happen to her the criminal complaint. Does not go into anything else regarding that. But she knew this in order to hide. Her Jamie said Patterson made her hide under the bed in his bedroom. His bed was pushed to the corner of his room. He stacked totes and laundry bins around the bed with weights like barbells. So she couldn't move and she knew if she tried to the barbells would move, and she would know he would know that she tried to get out. Later in the complaint. It says on January tenth Patterson told Jamie, he was going to be gone five or six hours and made her once again, wait under the bed before he left at this time. She was able to push the bins and waits away from the bed and crawl out. She put on a pair of Patterson's shoes walked out of the house. It was then she found genie nutter the woman who was walking her dog. And she had said that he had kidnapped her and please call nine one one. The detective Nelson reports the defendant confessed to killing James and Denise Kloss and then kidnapping Jamie, the defendant stated he worked at the Sapporo cheese factory south of Alameda for two days before quitting. I guess. And it says this very matter of factly on his drive to the cheese factory on one of the two mornings. He worked there. He had stopped behind a school bus on US highway eight where he watched Jamie get on a school bus, the defendant stated he had no idea who she was nor did he know who lived at the house or how many people lived at the house, the defendant stated when he saw Jamie. He knew that was the girl he was going to take it. Then goes on to say how he bought a ski mask type mask on his last day of employment because he planned to conceal his identity the defendant. Also, well Patterson says. That he removed the dome lights from his car, he removed the glow in the dark what he called the kidnapping court from the trunk and he planned out what was going to happen when he took Jamie. He also said he went to the home twice before the night of October fifteenth and backed out for reasons there were people in the house. There were too many cars around he says, he took his father's twelve gauge Mossberg pump shotgun, which he described as having a black stock and silver chrome colored finish barrel. He says he patrols this gun because he done the research. He knew the Mossberg brand was one of the most heavily manufacturer. And it would be more difficult for police to trace. He also describes how he wipes down the shotgun while wearing gloves. So there would be no DNA. And he also described how he shaved his face and shaved all the hair off the top of his head and showered before leaving the house the defendant. Patterson stated he did this. So he would not leave any. DNA or hair at the scene. He then describes almost exactly the way Jamie describes that night. He says he saw James peering out the window when he approached the house. He says he raised his shotgun purposely aimed at James head and pulled the trigger. He watched James collapsed to the ground after he stepped into the house. He knew James was dead. He then broke into the bathroom door, which was locked stated the bathroom curtain was shut ripped it. Open. Saw. Denise Jamie's mom and Jamie seated in the bathtub, he says Denise had her arms wrapped around Jamie in a bear hug. He then describes how he took out. The duct tape told Denise to duct tape. Her daughter's mouth. Denise was having trouble doing it. So he put down his shotgun duct tape. Jamie's mouth himself picked up the shotgun. And then shot Denise in the head right in front of Jamie. The defendant said he was determined to take Jamie that night, and he was going to kill anyone in the house because he could not leave any eye. Witnesses behind he said, he would have shot at police had they been in his way. He then describes the space he created under his twin size bed. Exactly the way Jamie does. And he says there were at least two occasions where he thought Jamie had tried to get out from the bed, but he described to police that he believes she was fearful of him enough to know that she should not leave that bedroom without him. Goes on to describe. Sometimes how he would have visitors at the house his father would come over on Saturdays. He would turn up the radio in the room. So as to block any noise that Jamie might make one time on Christmas. He said he told Jamie was going to visit family, and he was going to be gone for twelve hours, and she was not to take any bathroom breaks or exit the room until he came back. He also parents at Christmas the defendant stated that he left the house went to superior to visit one of his grandparents the defendant estimated he was gone for twelve hours. Defendants stated he told Jamie that she had to hold it. If she needed to go to the bathroom and was not allowed to exit from under the bed until he returned. James Patterson told police he basically assumed he had gotten away with killing James and Denise and kidnapping Jamie since he hadn't been caught in the first two weeks, the defendant stated he had never met Jamie through any social media sites and only learned her name after the abduction when they got back to his house. Then he learned the names of the two people he shot and killed after seeing their names on multiple news reports and social media. He told police he never would have been caught if he would have planned everything perfectly. That is the criminal complaint released to the media today. The state of Wisconsin versus Jake Patterson. It again coming up at what three thirty. We're going to be taking the press conference live when we get the official. Court hearing. Yes, where he will be charged at three thirty in Wisconsin. It's three twenty two tough start to the show but wanted to share the information that we had with you as as the abduction of Jamie class has been on our minds for the last three months. And of course, the tragic murder of her parents were now getting some closure, and as horrific as it is to hear about we all feel like we want to know the details and just thank God. That Jamie is is at least safe. Yeah. It's it's hard to hear. But we're we're really happy for Jamie. And and for her extended family, obviously, I mean, it's what everybody seems to be talking about you'll hear from her aunt's, Jamie clauses. Ants when we return on.

"Seven K R o q. And this is the Kevin and bean show. Allie you brought our attention to an interesting study yesterday about men and their hair. What's going on? Apparently, bald men are more confident attractive and dominant. Then guys with hair interesting. Yeah. Showed a bunch of pictures to women, and that's what they were saying the university of Pennsylvania as three groups are participant to rate certain photos of men, according to character traits such as attracted this confidence in dominance, bald men one in a clean sweep how about that? It doesn't matter who it is. No, not in this who knows. Obviously, they're not showing Jamie state them in the rock. The pictures article is the rocks or city. Okay. They're not gonna show Doug. Right. So now, this is kind of interesting because look I have a luxurious head of hair as you guys tremendous Maine. But there are probably a lot of bald guys out or maybe more correctly people who assume that ball guys are lacking something by not having here that somehow that's a strike against them because they're bald. But it sounds like this survey is suggesting that especially if you're trying to attract women being bald maybe a positive. Let me interject because it says these rules only apply if you're completely bald the study found the guys with male pattern baldness or spotty patches of hair on their head. We're actually seen as weaker than those completely bald. And here's the thing dudes that have no hair. I feel like guys that are trying to cover up a little part of their hair. They're trying to overcompensate for some. That's missing. You can totally tell you can totally tell and there's there's I don't wanna say a sadness about it. Shaven dudes if you're going bald, and you're trying desperately to act like you're not there's obviously a lack of self confidence there. Now be what do I do just walked in and took his position in front of a microphone doing trade on I guess you 'cause I asked bugs to come. All right. I didn't know that Kevin. But Allie before we get the bugs. When you make that decision to shave off, whatever here, you have left are you then putting yourself in a now, I have to shave my head every couple of days for the rest of my life is a possible that some guys don't do that just because it becomes a pain in the ass thing that now they have to keep up. Oh, no. Women shave their legs every goddamn day being amongst. You're a young attractive. Handsome, man. But you're you're losing heritage alarming rate for your age in and out pretty good up up top. And I'm curve for seeing up. Yeah..

"Three things you need to know. Right now, Arizona votes at prominent Arizona Republican may be switching sides. Former attorney General Grant woods reportedly considering running for a US Senate seat in twenty twenty as a democrat KTAR's Bruce St James Hamilton us. We'll talk to woods about his plans at nine thirty this morning. There's an all out search happening in the White House. Find out which senior staffer wrote an op Ed in the New York Times claiming to be part of a resistance to President Trump's agenda. Talk about a rude wake-up. Call police in northeast Ohio placed a school resource officer on leave for using a tasers to wake up a sleeping student. The officer fired up the tasers, and it was the sound of it the book of the student. He wasn't actually taste. You're never more than fifteen minutes away. From today's top stories on Arizona's news station. KTAR news. Entered again, the grant woods will join Bruce, and Pamela, actually, it's a Steve urban in for Bruce today, and they'll have grant as a guest beginning at around nine thirty this morning. So hopefully, you can catch that here on KTAR news. All right. I I have a little bit of trivia here. If anybody wants to jump in and answer this question. Do we does anybody know what happened? I wish I'd done this Tuesday. You know, what happened thirty years ago Tuesday? No one thousand nine hundred eighty eight k it was the first game four. The Phoenix cardinals really first regular season game of what would the they were known as the Phoenix cardinal right point. They had moved to the valley from Saint Louis and they played September fourth nineteen Eighty-eight at Cincinnati against the Bengals lost the game. Twenty one to fourteen. I just I bring that up because obviously the NFL opens tonight, and it is staggering to think that it has been thirty years since the cardinals I arrived in Arizona. And obviously a lot of things have changed over the years for the cardinals. They started out at double stadium, of course. And now play in a stadium. And I mentioned this. The other day continues to be the state of the art. I don't know how many events are games. You've been to Jamie. State farm stadium in Glendale, which is now the new home state farm stadium. With a new name for the cardinals. And I just I it's still is one of the great experiences to go to that stadium and experience anything and especially a football game. I don't know. Have you been there any games? Have you been to there? I have not been to even one regular game. We have been to a preseason game. Okay. It was awesome. Yes. Oh, I was just saying. To be able to go to more games aren't easily available. All right management. Can we get to work on that we need to get Jamie to some more cardinal games at state farm? Second that. That's exactly yet. Just a okay, I just I just need to do this because it's fun to think about the head coach of the cardinals at the time was gene stallings, the general manager was Larry Wilson, the director of just so many names that I remember. But it's it's staggering to think it's been thirty years since the cardinals started here in Arizona, and especially because for a lot of us having an NFL team in Arizona was kind of like man landing on the moon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You had to pick another team root for the home state team at all. Yeah. And it was ironic. The very first home regular season game was against a team that basically was the adopted team here for a long time the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night football less, so big enemies. To say the least, but it starts again tonight for the NFL and for the cardinals. Again, it starts on Sunday at state farm stadium. Cardinals take on the.
