"You know up until right till the end because it's gonna be hours now, before they pull these two guys out of there, and I pray that the family members are right. I know they've also been critical to of the rescue operations as well saying, well, you know, why were you bringing more equipment? Why aren't they working around the clock? You know, I get that but I think there's also is, you know, Ah, safety element here for those first responders. Yeah, You know they were family members volunteering Marshall, and there's so many people there that want to go in and help. I want to go and help its search and they're getting frustrated because they're not being allowed in and they're saying, how come we're not being allowed in? We have all these people here who want to go and help, But it's also you know, liability issues. Can't student every one of them. That's where kind of its turning from sadness to a little bit of anger, because because they just they're not understanding why I just All these people who are showing up why they just can't go in and help search, But you can't you can't I get it is that there's a risk involved. You start putting all those people on the pile and grabbing and ripping stuff apart. You know, if it's like, let's say I don't know. Maybe it's a trench collapse. Right where time is the essence? The person who is in that happens all the time and construction right that That's not short up properly, Then out of the box in and someone winds up getting in trapped in soil. Well, yeah, it's a race against time to get that soil out of there is many hands as possible. But this is different. You know, you start moving things that causes other things to shift. It. Put somebody down down the other side of the pile in trouble. It's Like an avalanche of steel, and you don't need another person in trapped. Another person Dying is a result of recovery. I I get that. But at the same time the family's thinking the more people we have in there, The better chance there is to recover my loved one. I I, You know it zipped a horrible conflict. Yeah, you know, and I definitely see their side and I would probably be angry, too. They think the company's not doing enough for all tip to getting enough Crane could, you know heavy equipment in there to start pulling rubble off? You know what? Yeah, they have been critical of the company. But We're talking to the sheriff last night before I left, he says there have been five cranes out there working at a time. Maybe not all working one at a time, but five working on But I just think what may be missing is some communication between the company and the family Because they're saying they're not getting any answer to that one that one of them Now they want to know what happened. It could be Also, the company just doesn't know it yet. You know, their priority could be on, you know, finding these men recovering them and, you know they're gonna wait until they have the answers before they talk to the family. I think the family just seated. This should be better communication is what I'm hearing from the family. Yeah, Yeah, I get it. You know, I know there's there's iron workers out there too in these guys are, you know they want to get in and help their help. Because you know, those guys have ah, knowledge of structure and pulling that stuff after I get that, um and I know they got a lot of guys from the local here. Wanna go out there and help But you know again, you're kind of the mercy of the of the rescue workers here because they know how to do this. And, you know, sadly, it has moved to recovery mission for the two men that are under there too. And, yeah, you're right. You're miracles happen all the time. I would not give up hope of in the family, but Maybe better communication from the company and that's another thing. You know, crisis. You think about it right? Something like this happens. It's totally unexpected. You're in Adams County, relatively rural area. It's not like they've got, you know public information officers, crisis managers, NPR teams out there for this company that's doing the dismantling and you know your families want answers you want is a reporter and a journalist. Karen, you want answers. And that's another an enviable position because the company probably is going Oh, my God, we're you know, we're trying to get a sense about us to try and get this figure out what happened here, which we're not even close to doing And there's just so much so much coming at us. I get the nature of these situations. Yeah. You know, I just speak with the vice president of the company on the first day. This happened and you know their banks out of Detroit, and he said they had a team on site, but he was personally on his in his car driving down here, so we know he's here. He's on site. So it's not like you have people sitting up in an office just, you know, waiting for answers. They actually did come down to the site. All right. So you're hearing now Karen Johnson from Wlwt News five that they're close to recovering the two men who are at least closer to recovering the two men who are trapped under all that debris at the killing, generating station and Adams County. Yeah, That's what we're hearing again. They yesterday they were able to clear out a space where they think they are. They were sending people in every sending the canines in last night, You heard that the canine picked up a scent. So that's where we stand right now. And I think that's an important thing to the dogs Smell them, so they're fairly close at this point. Um and I just I think of the families there. My God, It's just so heartbreaking because I saw your coverage of outstanding job by the way. Um, you know the fate fans. I think Jamie Fitzgerald 47 year old guy is she's the one who's saying I know he's alive. He's got an 11 year old daughter to step kids They've been engaged for, Like five years. We're going to get married and It's just It's just heartbreaking, Earliest. Really, Yeah, it's just it wouldn't just watching them watch what's going on, I think is the hardest part for me. Exactly Know OSHA is there too, as well and they're they're presidents always known, and I'll find out what happened. And why. At this point, it's way too early to tell what occurred right? Oh, yeah. This girl take months and months and months before I think, Oh, she completes its best. What's going on? Karen Johnson is on her way out there with more coverage on the collapse in Adams County, the killing generating station. Would two men now it looks like we're close to getting those guys out of there, so hopefully they're alive. Don't look that way. But let's not hold out. Hope we need a Christmas miracle. We could use some good news these days. Yes, we can. On By the way, How is you know? Last time we talked here and your long term boyfriend was sick with Cove. It red friends, the chief of Westchester firing and speaking of first responders and like, you know, here's a young guy, fairly young guy, and it was younger. Well, he's much older than you, but e remember talking to you, and you know you're getting emotional because you know here. You don't expect this. You know, he's I think, Rick, same ages. Jamie Fitzgerald. When the guys that are trapped here and you just don't Don't expect those things to happen ever. 52. I didn't expect it. But thank you for asking.
