He didn't have to take the blood tests, and they did the the number of cold. Is there some way I could look that up without having to go to law library in because Civilians can't go anymore. But it is. What do you mean? Civilians can't go to the law Life? Average person. You have to be an attorney to go to the land library anymore because they ask you Hmm. Wait. Whoa! What? Well, no separation of church and state is a serious issue, but compared to, uh well, just ask me your question. Okay? What? You know, I was listening to you guys talk about that, like two or three days ago. And it was concerned in me that it might be a denominational issue. You know, because we have all these different The accuracy is in this country. You know, And all these churches believe different, you know that Joe was witnesses. They don't believe that Jesus sized Catholics believe in God and Audi double cases. They have different theologies also So that's what I was actually concerned about. "If i had to in week one i would start him as a number three receiver. Jamie dave says about forty two forty three wide receivers. He be comfortable with as a week. One starter how about you as a throws around there you know i. I think i'm fine with mike williams of familiar more and find with arnold mooney on fine with michael pittman now and he's a little bit lower but i think his outlook changes with healthy carson wentz. So yeah it in three receiver league. It's it's there. There's going to be plenty of guys you can rotate through there. If you draft four guys in the top forty depending on the rank you look at so it's it it changes in a we'll We'll get to that in a second. How about you man. I dunno i thirty eight and stop it la- viscous chenault thirty eight But there's guys that i have ranked ahead of him that i don't want to start week. What i'm just hopeful for what they're going to be so i think i'm a little bit less On the white. I in a three receiver league. That's full pr. I think the bar is pretty high for who i want to start and so i don't feel like it's quite as deep. Okay all right so we'll talk more about that in a moment we'll talk about how the strategies change in to receiver leagues three receiver leagues non pr and remember. This is a two part preview. So part one is a little bit more of an overview of the position and we will get to adp. I'm thinking probably the first two and a half rounds maybe up to uptown robinson or so although cd lambs going right after alan robertson cd lamb is wide receiver. Twelve in full pbr. According to rose. And i believe he's thirty. Four th overall. How many rocket ships is that jamie and yeah. We'll we'll talk a little bit about. Adp but tomorrow will be the full adp show so the podcast league. Dave jamie heath. we have to figure out when we want to do the podcast league. I meant to ask you this before the show. You can do that day or the monday before. August thirty first. We're going to stick with that my son's birthday. Oh that's great so you're gonna pull heath away from his son's birthday sit like nine. O'clock at night for your. Yeah so what do you wanna do. You wanna do. You wanna do the himmelfarb. He's strong thirtieth tease. I choose the thirtieth. I get a vote. Is that okay jamie. Yeah i. "On apple. Podcasts spotify stitcher. Google podcast morales. Podcasts are found. Okay here we go your favorite sleeper tight end. Jamie will start with you go. Jamie dave heath favorite sleeper tight end. You know it's a. It's a strange position. Because prior to michael thomas going down it would have been easy out and me. But he's not asleep anymore He's just everybody's do too well aware of them And i think the same thing with arab smith's as hard to put those guys net categories. I'll back tyler. I think he just getting him at a good price for a guy that Showing you the ability star has a chance. I think you know to be a little bit of difference maker without gerald ever there. You know what. I'll i'll give you. I'll give you whatever as well. I just in both those guys Leaving each other's going to be good for their situation especially forever following a guy that he knows with shane waldron. Who's the rams all right. Higby and everett dave. you're next. I agree about trump and more of a breakout at this point than a sleeper. I still think johnny was asleep or you can find him late on draft day. Patriots gave him a ton of money this year. He was the first big free agent signing that they had. I think they're looking for a move tight end. A guy that can use as a love says to combat mismatches downfield. We saw him as a big time. Red zone threat for tennessee. I think he picks that up with the patriots. And i bet he improves his running in his route tree in new england and when they do decide to throw and i think they'll throw certainly a little bit more this year than they did last year. Especially once mack jones gets in there. I think john has a chance to be their number one target. Get her this year. I love the upside with johnny smith. I i agree with that. Like when adam was talking about the teams that are players that could be the number one target on their team. I think either hunter. Henry order. Johnny smith could fit into that it's funny looking at. Cbs adp trying to decide. Who's asleep or and who's a breakout. I think tyler higby. Cbs adp is now inside the top one hundred tight end eighteen. Johnny smith is five spots behind hunter henry in round thirteen. And so i'm gonna. I'm gonna use that. This is not true in the best ball drafts for the nfc. Adp we normally use. But cbs drafters are acting like i did for most of the off season with logan thomas just pretending like well. There's no chance he can ever do that again. he's behind. mike sickie. Eric e. braun and most of the other guys that we've talked about especially higby. He's just dominating washington defense in training camp right now and it's stupid to call a guy who finished top five last year a sleeper but if he's being drafted in the twelfth round after he finished top five last year. I don't know what else you call them. You can't call him breakout he. Just did it. Well yes that's cbs adp. It is yeah..

"His last few seasons with green bay when aaron rodgers was awesome two thousand sixteen in two thousand eighteen roger's got hurt in two thousand seventeen. I mean cobb. Wasn't that good. Six hundred ten yards in twenty sixteen in thirteen games would still not very good and Terrible in nine games in in two thousand eighteen. So he's thirty one and he unfortunately for me. I'm not drafting rogers anymore. I was excited to be right about a rookie wide receiver. Keep that streak alive but oh well all right redundancy hold holdup. Because oh yeah. Sure devante parker and preston williams are on the populace so maybe an opportunity for training camp and some others some offensive lineman. Look it's training it then. Come off the pup list whenever they want basically if they start the season on the pup list than they have to miss at least six games. So let's get to our mock draft from last night jamie. Dave and i had late picks dan. You had what the fourth pick. Yes i did. Dave had the he had a middle pick. I'm sorry he had the seven th pick. I had the tenth pick and jamie had the twelfth pick and jamie did go with four wide receivers to start so we will see how that played out. This was twelve teams full. Pr start three wide receivers and flex i if you look at the draft. What was the best pick. That wasn't yours. Anybody got one best pick. That wasn't yours There's one that stood out to me. What do you got i got. I got justin herbert going. I think it's ninety first overall. Nope ninety second overall the scotty angle. I thought that was really good value. I'm fine taking her around seven. I think he's going to be worth that return in. Adp to get him to rounds after that. That's that's straight up. Stone cold stealing by scotty. All right just in herbert Dan jamie yeah. I think the one for me and it's going to be a same one in most drafts. 'cause i don't see his. Adp rising to the point where. He's not a value in drafts. It's antonio brown round eighth. Pick seven by towers. I just feel like in this wide receiver core. There's no guaranteed to me..

"Very simple with this adami. Depending on i mean most drafts i do. With the exception of the league's we do for work. Things of that nature are salary cap drafts. I'm not a big believer in snake drafts. I will go to war for salary. Cap drafts whenever we need somebody to be that guy. Put me in coach by so what i like to have for. Those salary gap drafts. When i like to have is a spreadsheet open that tracks my budget. In the way i do. Salary cap drafts have specific targets based on price for each wide receiver one running back one etc etc. So i'll have that number in and then kind of go change it. Based on who i ended up winning or bidding on at the in that range so i like to have that and then the other thing only other thing i have proposed. Snake in auction drafts are my tears that i create myself because i feel like that's all you really need you. Just go buy your own tears. And at that point you've done all the research going into Least you should so you should know who you want with each with each pick that in a snake draft or in an auction it's herbs are salary cap drafts a little bit different. Obviously for salary cap. I don't really have anything open for traffic because by the time. I'm doing my real drafts. I've done fifty mocks and and we do have all the rankings for for heath jamie dave plus projections in the draft room. Now if i'm doing it on another website then i'm definitely going to have their rankings. One one of my tabs rankings. Page on cbs sports dot com slash fantasy But for a salary cap draft. I will write. I will write down. I'll have a word document with most. If not all of the one or two dollar players that i am targeting and as they get taken you know i have to take note of it and say all right. I'm kind of running out of the players that i thought i'd be able to save money on and be happy with my team so that you know i like to have that list. I don't need to do that in a snake draft. You know you've got you've got the list of available players and whatnot but like to see you know who i think i can get for a dollar and as they come off the board. It's pretty important to know if your dollar targets are are are board. "So i always recommend to work from early to late and at the same time big to small. So this means that you tackle pre flop Leaks and issues. I because improving preflight. Play it naturally. Just improves post flop. Play and also you want to address the most common in costly spots. I so thinking about going along that route right there. I think you must work on your blind calling strategies. I that's critical so if we look at the big picture your losses a big portion of it is probably due to calling way too much out of the limes when you do that when you just call way too often with jackie suited and nine six suited and eight four offs. Just crap hands right. This keeps your pippen. Pf are gap really big and it causes you to see a ton of flops. Out of position as the pre flop caller. This is anti bread and butter poker. You're blind calls are putting you in the least profitable situations just over and and over again so here would be my improvement plan for this imaginary student right here. Right number one find content to study that gives you better blind calling strategies a video. Podcast article a chapter in a book. You know all that stuff number two is to study that item and take notes number three is to take action with what you learn because actively employing the strategies that's going to improve you right actions. The greatest teacher number four. You want review any tagged hands to refine your strategies number five remeasure your results after three to five thousand hands again to see how things are going to see how you're progressing and the number six continued working until things turned positive. Alright that brings us to being number three and this thing three is get the most out of your favorite poker book so before hiring a coach it's going to be a great idea to train yourself to take direction. I so grab your favourite poker book. Hopefully it's one of mine but if not doesn't matter grab your favourite one now. Treat this book like the author of the book is your coach and each chapter is a one on one weekly session with him so if the book is ten chapters long. That's ten weeks of sessions with your new coach so each week. This is what you're doing. I you're going to read the chapter and take notes as you're doing that. Imagine this is your coach talking to you. He's your coach. He is helping you address things that you need to do to become a better player. He's helping you pick that fruit. The next thing you need to do is to create action steps for the week for you to take either during studying or play sessions. Now in my books. I give you action steps to take but for most other authors. You're gonna have to create your own action steps right and i'll give you a couple examples of that soon. the third thing you want to do is take action every day with those action steps that you create or that you get from my books and number four is to repeat this process next week with the next chapter and if this week dinner go willing. You don't feel that you actually made much improvement do another week. Read the chapter again. Add or edit or adjust your notes accordingly and continue playing with purpose and taking action. So let me give you an example of what. I'm talking about when i say create your own action steps in episode three thirty two. I interviewed. dunkin paula mortis. He's the author of why. Alex beats bobby at poker. It's a great book and this would really be a good one to try to learn from fully to treat. like duncan. Is your coach in chapter. Eight dunkin discusses strategies that alex uses against limbers. And this is just one small part of giant chapter right but Alex standard iso race over a lemper is three big blinds. Plus one per lipper. And that's probably the same as yours right. Alex also i so raises a larger with the with her best hands to punish non folding players. She also raises larger when she's out of position to charge them more for their positional advantage. And she also eyesore raises larger when stacks are deeper for that chance of hitting something really going on the flop and getting max value for her. So you read all this in you decide to take action and your action step is to simply test out larger iso so raise sizes when these elements are in place. Nice and simple right so this next week every time. Somebody limps in. You're going to think about these things. It alex does to increase her bet. Sizing eyeso- raise sizing and like i said if things are in place you're going to test for yourself all right so one more example from my own book this post flop online poker in chapter thirteen. It's all about poker math but in chapter thirteen. I discussed using the idea of expected value to help. You make better post flop decisions in the chapter. I introduce you to the ev spectrum. This is just a drawing. A line that extends from left to right in the center is neutral. ev. That means that decision does not make or cost you any chips to the right of that line is positive. Evey anything over there is worth doing to. The left of centerline is negative. Evey so if you make that plate you can expect to lose chips in the long run for it. Now you're reading the text and you're introduced to the spectrum and you see this line from me. This is what i say in the book. It's your job to make the most positive e b decision at every city in occurs to you. Hey that's an action. Step right there so you draw out the spectrum and you decide in your next play session. You're going to gauge the e. v. positive negative or neutral of whatever option. You're presented with as you play so you face a bet post flop while your options pop up on the screen fold call or raise you place them along the spectrum you take into account all the information available you decide oh is calling. A positive. E is raising positive. Where do these things lie. And you force yourself to make the most positive decision once you lay them out on the spectrum. Nice and simple action step right and it's going to force you to take action with what you learned from the chapter. What your coach sky matsu. She just told you. So if you can do this for an entire book if you can take instruction from the book like it's a you know sessions with your coach. You're going to be teaching yourself important things and you're going to be taking action and you're going to be a stronger player for it. Plus you're going to be more prepared to just take instruction with your future coach right before we get today's challenge. I've a few shout outs to give now. I have some incredible poker peeps who've been buying my books how to study poker volume one volume to pre flop online poker and post flop online poker and these people right here purchased all four of them. "Why would expect ben roethlisberger to be a more active and effective deep thrower in two thousand twenty one that he was twenty twenty. Maybe it's just you know. He needed a year to shake off the rust. And he'll be more confident. Passer in twenty twenty one. But at claypool i just it. It comes down to one. How many targets are going to be available juju leave. How many can he get moving forward. And you know whether better author can play better. I think they're they're pretty significant questions. It's a hell of a rookie year. Eight hundred seventy three yards and nine touchdowns on one hundred and nine targets a lot of big playability there but also a lot of his production was one week. It was one hundred and ten. Your one hundred ten yards and three touchdowns were as only good games. Plus a rushing touchdown against philadelphia. That's a four touchdown game. So let's say jude. You leaves guys jamie. Dave chris where would you. Where do you think you'd end up on claypool. If he's the number two guy. I've been all over the place with him when i was doing. My ranking so he he'll definitely move up depending on what they do. I think you'd have gone. you know. I just want to see if they save with something significant or are they just stick with the top three guys that would remain on their roster with james washington moving into the third spot so does your rank your current ranking of claypool reflects nodes. No smith schuster mindue. Yeah okay so you still have them twenty nine around thirtieth jamie and david like more like twenty-first assuming that smith schuster has gone. Yeah i i love chase claypool. And he's going in the top. You know to being drafted as a number two. Obviously ryan will get a lot of him i. I'll move him up a few spots. But i don't think crack my top twenty four it just it just sets a loaded position so He he's got tremendous upside in your to Chris has some good points. There about ben. Rothlisberger maximizing his potential. But i don't think he's going to necessarily bring him down to the point where you can't be a productive fantasy option so Claypool got a ton of upside but again. It's what what do they do with the ebron. judy replacements. Days jarvis landry. You have them ten. Spots lower than jamie does landry fortieth for you thirtieth for jamie. Npr came alive in the second half of last season. That was without odell beckham. I think we're expecting odell beckham to stay in cleveland. They can't cut him. And i don't know who's trading giving up a lot for him when he's not a hundred percent still. Pr heavy could get a decent amount of catches. But i think the browns proved who they were this year. Their team that loves to run the football. They're damned good at it and landry's is going to be one of those receivers. Just think fits in is is a good number three ish type of option and they threw through five hundred and one times. That is mega. Lo and his target share was eighteen. Point three percent with beckham I think they were only five games. Not including the game. That beckham left after four snaps. Maybe six games but Just barely through in target share was way down jamie you got thirtieth though i think right next to claypool jarvis landry. It's probably too high. I mean maybe. I'm just looking at the way finished..

odell beckham james washington ben roethlisberger Chris david jamie cleveland six games Dave chris nine touchdowns ryan five games three touchdowns eighteen this year Claypool twenty-first four snaps second half third spot

"We'll see what happens and and for the record. If james is the starting quarterback he would be that third guy drafted in new orleans. Tastes smells so whoever that quarterback is that's your third guy on a new orleans and i wonder what we get out of data harris. Does he get an opportunity to play more on offense. He's clearly got some good speed. This offense will need that especially if they let trae quant smith walk and free agency. There could be something there as well. Where in deep deep deep leagues. Maybe this is something for the dynasty leagues out. There were diatta harris's somebody who could be worth speculating on over the next couple of months. Anybody fear there will be a top twelve quarterback in new orleans for fantasy if it's tastes him hill. There's nobody else that. I'll be interested in drafting if it's jameis winston. I think both trae quantum smith anti-junta harris will be very interesting late round flyers because we know jameis winston has produced the kind of offense that can lead to several fantasy relevant wide receiver. So that it all depends on who the quarterback and there could be somebody. We're not talking about james again. Is an unrestricted free agent. He could certainly decide to leave. They may decide. They're going to completely change their focus and draft a quarterback and go with a rookie or they may as As dave alluded to you know maybe we see shawn watson or or matthew stafford. A one of these. You know matt ryan to be available to you know you. The falcons may decide to move on. There could be veteran guy that surprises us. And is the new quarterback for the saints in two thousand twenty one but most likely it seems as if the four-game sample size without breeze with the rib injury. That tastes them. Hill is probably the leader to be the quarterback replacing breeze who hasn't officially retired yet. But that seems to be the way that is trending all right. Let's get into some emails here. Thank you for sending them to us. fantasy football at cbs. Dot com is the address. Joe new york wants to know your day. Jamie dave and mr paternity leave..
